Tired. I love to hear it. Tired of you. You're a crap too, woman. Anyway, I saw this movie once. I'm a recovering alcoholics. I don't remember Jack about it. Olivia's never seen it.
You're a recovering. Yeah, we can't say it's a kid's movie. I have not seen.
Puss and boots, too, and neither has she! And apparently that one's the incredible one.
I haven't seen any of them. I know. I mentioned the first one. Baby, we talked about this in
couples counseling two hours ago. To not listen to you. That's what the therapist said. No, that's
not what... Yes, he said, you gaslight and you make up life. That's a heat. I thought that was a woman
the whole time. With gas lighting. I've seen it once. She's never seen it. We've both ever seen
the part two. Your brother did get me the DVD for Christmas. Oh, that's right. Good thing I

Liberals.
Yeah. Liberals, you're silencing.
Hey, guys, we just watched Puss and Boots.
It's, oh, no.
No, no.
We have never seen the trailer for the last wish.
I have no idea what that even looks like.
People said it was amazing.
Anyway, yeah, I didn't remember really anything about this,
but this is Olivia's first time watching.
It's my first time re-watching,
but it felt like a first time watching in so many ways.
Olive Branch,
sorry, sorry, Greg's wife.
What did you?
you think? I thought it was super cute. What would you rate out of 10? 10? I would rate it
an 8.5. Ooh. What is the negative? Let's start with the negatives because that is how you
went over audience. You told me not to start with a negative. You do the rules. You do three positives
and one negative. That's the rules of every great movie critic out there. We're going to go
reverse because now that we have pulled the veil. So I can only do one negative? I mean,
No, you can, let's just leave with them.
Generally, you do three positives, and then you go into a negative, and then you follow it up with here, Tara.
This is what you're actually doing wrong.
Ring the bell!
Anyway, I love terror.
I love terror.
Okay, anyway, so you want a negative, all right?
what's the 1.5 what is what is what is hindering you from getting to a 10
uh i don't i'm not invested in the relationship between humphdine and uh plus
are you supposed to be what do you mean well yeah because it's the overall arching theme of
this this brotherhood theme of the movie is them coming together in the end i really don't
care that he died it makes me actually i'm thrilled about it you didn't find that scene touch
Absolutely not at all.
Really?
I heard you're doing a little bit of awes when he was like hanging and he's like, I'll let go.
It's because of the little baby duck.
Goose?
Geese?
Little baby goose.
Little baby goose.
I was concerned about the mama.
You didn't even hear me saying?
You don't listen to me.
It's because you're too busy trying to think about what you're going to say that you're not paying attention to what your co-host is actually talking about.
But I clearly said the poor mama goose.
I said the poor mama
I was worried about her
She had the whole building
crashed on her
Yeah but she'd be fine
She's a kaiju
She's a kaiju goose
A little kaiju goose
Would stand anything
Listen I want more baby plus and boos
I'm sure that exists
On this peacock platform
Oh my gosh
She's so cute
Very cute
I mean okay so that was the one
I guess I can see
What you're coming from there
Well
I've never really rooted
for Humpty Dumpty to be an all right guy
because he was always kind of creepy
He's very off-putting the guy
His character design is off-putting
And I never trust
I thought he was like perfect as a villain
Yeah
Like on the villain part he's perfect
And I think Zach Alfenoccus's voice work on him is excellent
But yeah
I would never found myself really rooting for him
To like have a good guy turn
And
I mean I'd be lying though
I wasn't actually moved by the end
And I realize what makes me actually cry in movies.
What?
Everything.
No.
I usually don't cry at death scenes, weirdly enough.
Food for thought.
The thing that it really moves me is belief.
That's what really gets me.
Baby, they haven't talking.
Believe.
That's why in interstellar, when I was a Jackie Chan, Jessica Chastain.
When Jackie Chan playing Matthew McConaid's daughter.
Aren't we reviewing this movie?
Don't we fall off on tangents?
But that's why.
Someone steer this ship back onto the...
You know, we call it content in the end.
When Jessica Chastain's like,
Daddy was the ghost or whatever.
That's what I'm like, oh, bully really gets me.
Or when the ship's spinning after Matt Damon blows up.
And then Matthew McConaughey's like,
let's go for this bitch.
He doesn't say that, but that's what he's thinking.
He's like, all right, let's go for this page.
Anyway, I think he would be great in the Puss and Bootson's universe.
Listen, Matt McAugh, all right, all right, all right, put a video.
He'd be great voice work for her pussymoot.
It'd be awesome, him, and Antonio Benderz.
Antonio Baderz is so good in this.
He's perfect.
Yeah.
I like how he's just not playing Zorro, but as a cat.
He's actually a completely different character, actually.
They could start, if I remember, I really don't remember that those, the Shrek movies as well.
But if I remember it correctly, that was the appeal of the Shrek's love.
Shrek his life.
Yeah, I kind of remember those.
Those were, like, creepy YouTube videos.
but the the but i think it terminus is great um i really i think they had a perfect handle on
implementing western tropes as the part of their beat sheet for the way this movie unfolds like
it seems like the first half of this movie is very much a western and then the second half
goes a lot more fantastical but then the finale brings it back to being like a good marriage of both
the Western and the Fantastic.
It's like literally that Western finale
trope of having to save the small town.
I thought it was, it was really
heartfelt at the same time, too.
I thought it was a really heartfelt film.
Why is the town still after?
And why are the cops still after? And that makes no sense.
You mean at the very, very end?
Yeah. Well, he never, he technically
never... Oh, did you hear my tummy grow?
Yeah, you got to get curly fries.
I gotta get those curly fries from Jack at the Box.
He never technically cleared his name
on the, on the bank rock.
robbery that he was framed for he still saved the town it's a wash i know but in some people's eyes it
might look like he brought that there that he saved the town after he brought the danger i mean everyone
now knows i mean humpty clearly i know that's the weird part is the juxtaposition of everyone
in the town being like hero but then you got the cars being like fill it yeah so but i guess that's
kind of that kind of plays on the trope of like the worship of an outlaw in a way but he's not an
outlaw though at all except for some stuff that he did prior to the adventures
Anyway, I thought that was really cool
I love him in Salma High getting to work together again
Puss? Yes, he's so precious
His little teeth is a little meow
His little whiskies
Yeah, so every time I make a point
I think you just come in with a little bit more details about Puss
Okay
That's how we handle it
Watson, Watson, Watson, Watson, Watson, he's not doing anything but walking
He's literally doing nothing to you
He's walking. He's walking, you do not attack that cat
Watson.
Todd, run for your life.
Or completely ignore the danger around you.
I know, he don't even notice it.
Todd, your dad did not raise you properly.
You're in danger.
How am I supposed to teach him about danger?
You're in danger, Todd.
Whenever a stranger came up to me and said, you want some candy.
I always said, yes, I am poor.
Come over here.
I would love some candy.
Watson.
Watson, look at mama.
He's just stressed because you're in here.
I know.
He really hates this room.
He hates you being in here because he knows he'll get the least attention here because your attention will be completely hot.
That's true.
His television and not him.
He's really mad about him.
He's every time I step in this room for two seconds.
He's like, whew-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h.
What do you think you're doing?
You don't like being in this room.
I know.
I almost done, baby.
I know, Malish.
Come here.
I know, baby.
I know.
Great use of music.
Music?
You music throughout.
What I loved in the animation, especially beyond the incredible expressions of the balance of a cat behaving like a human to a cat being like a cat, is the use of texture on actual material items.
I constantly notice it like on the close up on the boots and on the hats and the walls.
It was so realistic, baby.
I'm talking about stuff.
Listen.
I know you can't be on your phone to distract yourself.
So you will fall asleep from listening fatigue.
To bored them, to people who bore me like you.
Hey, hey, hey, we've got a camera pointer to us.
We can't show what you're really like when the camera's point.
What you're really like, boring.
Listen.
Whoa.
Listen, what I like about this movie, and I guess why this works so well is both,
it plays as a kid's movie and a movie catered towards adults.
No, thank you, sir.
Thank you very much.
I appreciate that.
It's catered to both adults and adults.
It toes that nice.
And adults.
Adults and kids.
You've confused me because the cat was here.
Look, now you're going to complain.
He's like, he's walking behind the TV.
He's getting his cat here everywhere.
I know that's what you're thinking.
No, I was actually, we're just going to knock over the tripod.
Give me a baby.
Anyway, I feel like the story line does a great job of towing that line.
I think especially in some of the irreverent humor.
Yeah.
There's a lot of sensual.
Like, it's not full sexual.
You're not going to get it as a kid.
But there is something, like, sensual about a lot of the humor,
the irreverent humor that they do in this movie that doesn't ever cross the,
it's got to be at least, yeah, it is PG.
It doesn't ever cross the boundaries.
But sometimes it was surprising.
It was pretty, like, edgy joke for an American animated movie, actually.
Yeah, and I love the spins that they did on making,
because if I remember in the Shrek movies, they would have, like,
characters that sometimes were like a cool spin on popular fantasy characters um they didn't like
over like lullabies oh yeah like the gingerbread man but they're usually like a a schick that they do
my gum drop buttons yeah i remember that not the schick of them but actual characters here's what
they did i thought you know even with jack and jill the commitment to them being actual villains
and sister in the fairy tale.
They're fairy tales.
That's what they are.
They're not lullabies.
They're fairy tales.
Fairy tales.
Yeah, still the commitment to them being villains, I thought was a cool.
I like the twists they take on them.
Yes.
And even the payoff with Jack at the Chi Piedstock is like a creepy pro.
What are those called in Westerns?
Like the, how are you changing?
Like weird.
Prospector.
Prospector.
Is that the word?
Yeah, I think so.
I know, baby.
I'm almost done.
I know.
I wish they could see his face right now because he's not pleased.
He's not pleased.
This is like the struggle to stay focused discussion we're having here.
Why?
Because there's so many distractions happening at once, and I just want to talk about Interstellar.
That's exactly what it is.
What do we cover?
This is why I have a notepad now.
They can't see it.
This is why I have a notepad now.
to keep me on track here.
Well, I talked about,
I've really put in a lot into this review.
I think, you've nailed it.
I talked about the con.
I talked about how good the characters were.
I talked about the storyline.
I craved a tiny bit more action.
Not action, I craved more sword fights,
like western.
Maybe I'm just thinking it's all right with this boy.
That's an action.
Sword fight.
But in action, you also can be, like, explosions and cars.
I'm more particular.
I am saying, Jesus, H, you don't listen.
Well, if you're going to yell, you got to put the mic properly faced at your mouth.
It's above your mouth.
Listen to me.
You don't ever listen to me.
That's the problem here.
Action in particular, I wanted to sort of.
I think it's a hot-garet relationship.
I want a divorce.
No, no, no, no, no. It'll be bad financially for taxis.
That's true. That's actually...
It'll be hard. We're at the end of the year. It's gonna be tough.
We get disgusted in like 2026.
2026?
Yeah, we thought we have time to prepare throughout 2025.
You've had stuff on your beard and I hope it was there this whole time.
So flippin.
What were you saying?
Okay, you want to wear sword fights?
A sword fights.
And then, yeah, no, I mean, they kind of, I think the movie primes you for some action scenes like that.
Like, but we got like a lot of dance numbers.
And we got, don't get me wrong, like, there's a lot of great tracking shots and cool chase sequences that go down.
The jumping on the roof and, and the details to the catism of it all.
is really fine.
Yes, absolutely.
So all of that was very,
it's still like when it's there,
when there's like cool action visuals,
it's there in the chase scenes
and even like the,
the one on the road with Jack and Jill,
the one in the,
not the jungle,
but the whatever it is,
when you plan after the Beanstalk,
the Beanstalk scene,
the finale,
like it's all very cool
and visually appealing.
But I do,
I do think the movie kind of sets you up
when it does kick off
with like a cool on-routine.
to a fight that you're going to kind of get some more action so I did I think reflecting
I'm like I could use like at least one more like really cool action sequence but overall I mean
if they if it doesn't feel like they could fit it in and they would have to sacrifice a good
story to fit in an action scene I'd always take a good story over a unnecessary action scene so yeah
I thought that was really neat and I do what is like the kind of the what is the overall theme of
this movie would you say
cats are cute
cats are cute that's 100% it
don't declaw your cats
okay um
it seems like forgiveness and accountability
is a big part of it
I think that's very important
no forgiveness no no
maybe second chances I kept mentioning
second chances
probably comes in the hands of like
forgiveness and accountability
I can I can
give someone a second chance
without forgiving them
wow then how would they
succeed at that second chance.
Well, that's the thing is they're going to mess up eventually and prove me right.
And they're going to prove me correct.
Possibly succeed.
And then I'll be able to look at the, I do it.
That's the important thing.
You want them to fail.
You are a self-fulfilling prophecy situation.
If they're strong enough to overcome my self-fulfillment, then that proves a point.
But usually no one is.
So that says something, doesn't it?
Yeah, you set up people to fail.
Well, it's not my fault that they fail!
They still fail on their own.
Fair enough.
Yeah, I mean, what are the themes?
Family, because him with Imelda, the town, finding a place in belonging.
Jealousy, anger, revenge.
It's a pretty good amount there.
I think there's something kind of relatable
in the thing that creates the divide between.
them and also the
unwillingness
of Humpty Dumpty to
the unwillingness of Humpty Dumpty to
the unwillingness of
Humpty Dumpty to accept
that he does actually
belong where he's at. Well also
misery loves company
so he felt like he didn't belong
and he wanted Puss to feel that same
way. Exactly. And when Puss no longer
felt that way, it was
unacceptable to him and Puss became the enemy.
Yeah, I actually thought there
flashback that illustrated their because in order for the heartbreak of their of their departure as brothers
you have to have the heartfelt stuff first and i thought that that was really well illustrated
beyond just how visually looked but in terms of the actual story showing the differences that even
they're both coming from the same orphanage having similar experiences the identity and the way he
the way Puss is received
greatly affected the development
of Humpty Dumpty
I think there's something that
that right there I think grounds it in something
that is actually very relatable
and real. Well, isn't that really relatable
for people who have competition within
families? Absolutely. Yeah.
So there's that thing
divide, you have a sibling who's always jealous
of the attention that the
younger or older one gets
and so that
shapes who they become throughout their life
Yeah, I think that was
That was like the smart thing to really ground the story there
In spite of never really rooting for Humpty Dumpty
Yeah
I think that was a really great set up to it
And Salma Hyacca was just a great, great voice action
She's so good
I know.
You've seen Desperado?
Of course I've seen Desperado
Once by time, Mexico
I love that movie
We've never watched it together
We should watch it together
I saw in the theaters, did you?
No, I watched it at home
I was so bum when I
When the movie told it's like she's dead
Johnny Depp's that movie
I went through Johnny Depp phase
I'm sorry I was like
I think that was the time everyone was going
Yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah everyone was in her Johnny Depp phase then
Yep
They have so just I was weirdly thinking about that a few days ago
Like man it was kind of annoying when you learn that
Selma Hyac is just dead in that movie
And you only see her in like a flashback
I know I know
Spoiler alert
I mean it's the setup of the kid of the movie
She's dead
I know that scene
Yeah so anyway
I thought
this is great what i hear the one that is truly remarkable is
pussy and boots the last wish everyone says that film is like completely
incredible and it came out wow 2011 so they made the sequel to that like more than a
decade later yeah wait when did it come out i want to say like two years ago no way
the puss and boots too yeah yeah still never seen like anything from it i have never seen
we didn't see that in theaters either we usually usually drug me to every film well not
that time i don't think i had any interest i'm like why would i want to see a post of boots
movie like the sequel they're making like 10 years later we went and saw uh we've seen one
the amount of conversations i've gotten into that year when it came i was like you know the best
movies this last year so yeah i'm excited to see that anyway guys thanks for joining us on this
journey wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute what we got to say okay pass a essay say bye
Say bye Watsy.
Say bye, bye, baby.
Look at his papas.
See bye bye bye bye.
Paz.
Paz.
Little Paz.
Little Paj.
Little baby.
Baby Paj.
Baby Paj.
Babes.
Your baby Paj.
I know.
I know.
You hate this room so much.
Oh, he does not want to be near you.
I don't think he wants to be near anyone right now.
I don't think he wants to be near me.
I don't think he wants to be near me.
I stand.
I know, baby.
I know.
Oh, that's so nice.
He's eating the bike.
I went from so adorable.
Oh, my God.
He's going to destroy it.
Okay, I'm going to go get curly fries.
All right.
I'm going to end this video.
Now.
