The Spider-Man craze continues, people.
Koen and I decided just a little bit ago that this would be a fun video for us to do.
What do you call these kind of ranking videos again?
Power rankings?
I've seen them where it's like S-tier, A-tier, but I'm old, so I don't know what that's called either.
We're going to do that thing where, you know, like there's a bunch of slots,
Jimmy Fallon style, whatever the hell it's called, where you like this side where, okay,
we say this villain, where do you think they would go between one through 18?
We wrote down 18.
Villains is crazy.
That's a lot.
And I wanted to give a couple caveats here.
Some just quick explainers to the rules is, first off, these are all live action, so we're not
including the Spider-Verse characters.
And I'm not going to do the Sony films.
And we talked about it as well is the No Way Home rule, because a lot of them return to
no-way home.
We're just going to count it as one.
So if it's Green Goblin, we're counting all the Willem Defoe at just one overarching thing
from the first movie to No Way Home.
But yeah, I'm excited to do this.
Do you know your list?
Are you the kind of guy who are like already?
I mean, I'm looking at it.
I have no knowledge of what my list is.
I like didn't come in with, because we just decided.
Okay.
So I didn't have that ability to like determine.
Yeah.
But I like, I know how I feel about 80% of these, like definitively.
Okay.
So I think I'll be pretty definitive.
Okay.
But I don't have a preordained.
Okay.
Fair enough.
Fair enough.
Okay.
we're going to go in chronological order of the movies.
So chronological order of the villains.
And we're going to start playing around.
Shall the games begin?
Let us see where we stand, Greg,
because I have a hot take in the first one.
Do you?
Okay, so Green Goblin.
All right.
On this list of 18,
it's hard for me to be like,
that's number one,
Guy.
That's your hot take.
Because everybody says.
Dococ,
and I think Green Goblin's more interesting.
I think Willem Defoe's performance,
especially when he comes back in No Way home,
adds so many layers to it.
I think the paternal nature of Norman Osborne and Peter Parker is so much more interesting than even the science element of Doc Ock.
I think Doc Docs second, but I know everyone's like Spider-Man too.
I mean, yeah, because he's like theatrical, he's vicious.
But I think about Green Goblin, like he's so theatrical, vicious and quotable.
And I love that Peter Parker and Spider-Man have such interesting relationships.
And I think Docok has some of that, but not all the way.
I guess the argument would be that I don't think I would feel number one.
If he wasn't back in No Way home, weird.
Oh, same.
Right?
Because if it was just,
I think Doc O'K would have been number one without no way home.
But because of no way home,
he's very comfortably my number one.
Wow.
What a boring way to do a ranking.
Yeah.
We're going to go one through 18 instead of 18 through one.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's put Doc Ock at number.
I mean,
a Green Goblin at number one.
Yeah,
I think comfortably.
Yeah,
there you go.
Well,
this way people are already yelling at us.
And then they're like,
well,
who's going to be the rest?
Yeah,
who's going to be the rest?
Let's,
let's put it over.
We're going to slide him in here.
All right.
There we go.
There we go.
Look how pretty it is.
Boom, number one.
And I was also instructed that with today's ad, that we have to play it after the two to three minute mark.
So let's give away number one.
Let's play an ad.
Thanks to Hume for sponsoring.
This video is sponsored by Hume, a product that is surely keeping me accountable these days.
You see, in August of 2025, I finished an eight-month cut.
went from 218 to 172 pounds got them photos but the cut worked but the after is was harder i kept training
and overall eat healthier but i i just stopped tracking because i i didn't want to know cut to the time i'm
recording this i started using hume july 13th 2026 for accountability without another miserable
diet i was 184.1 pounds which is not too bad actually but my latest july 25th way in was
181.4 down 2.7 only 12 days so i'm focused on long-term tracking right now because i used to
only primarily watch weight and give that number just way too much power.
When it wouldn't move, I'd get discouraged, even if my body was changing.
Because weight alone can't show whether I'm losing fat, gaining muscle, or fluctuating.
And the Hume pod, what it is is a body analyzer, like an at-home in body scan.
So now I've been tracking body fat more, currently 17.3%.
Oh my God.
Got to work on that.
And skeletal muscle mass is 95.7 pounds because I want to lose fat without losing strength.
Because weight can stay flat while fat drops and muscle climbs.
And that's progress.
So my goal right now is to get back down to 176.4 pounds.
So if you guys want something reliable to help you guys track your progress,
you can use my code that you see here on screen,
and the link is in the description box and pin comment.
It stacks with Hume's current sale for up to 50% off for seven days,
and it's HSA FSA eligible in the U.S.
Thank you, Hume, for helping me find a more long-term healthy way
to keep track of my body.
It's awesome.
Really love Hume.
Let's go to number two now.
Now that we've given away our number one spot.
We pretty much gave away our number two.
It's such a fun.
Yeah, I think we did, did we?
Well, you know, I think if we were to give him one little knock to Doc Ock.
Ah to Doc Ock.
It would be that a lot of his turn is contributed not to his villain turn, but to like a broken inhibitor chip.
Yeah.
You know, it's still great.
Still number two.
But, you know, when you like read into the comics, it's pretty cool when Doc Ock is.
just having the turn because he's fucking Doc
Hawk, but it seems like a lot of, a lot of comics still do
the whole like inhibitor chip.
And the video game.
The video, oh yeah, they get it in a big way.
Like, replaying it recently, it's so interesting
how that turn feels. True.
Yes, let's put it up.
I think Doc Cox number two.
I think the theatricality.
I think Alfred Malina is incredible.
I think his return to No Way Home is also very strong.
But I definitely think it's right under Green Goblin.
It's weird.
They advertise the shit out of him and no way home.
Yeah, I don't think of them that much.
I barely remember him in no way.
I think of so much of Norman.
Green Goblin was like a.
big takeaway. Yeah, he's something of a scientist
himself. Like he says the memes,
but it feels like it works. He also
like, it just feels right for
Sam Ramey. I think he goes into
my home very well. All right, cool. All right.
So then number, who would be next on our
list if we're going order of the films?
Okay, so we have a couple of villains here.
We got Harry Osborne, we got
Venom and we got Samman. Which one of
the three do we go with first?
I think the highest of them
for me would be Samman.
Pretty comfortably. All right. So on this list
of 18 where would Sandman
Or do we want to start with a low one so we get some range
on the board?
Let's go with a low one.
Yeah, right?
Okay, Harry Osborne.
Okay.
I would put Harry Osborne at like...
I put six, knowing who else is on this list, I would put him at like,
because he was such a disappointing villain.
He still got a little bit more interesting because of Harry himself than some of these.
Oh, when he's manipulating in the relationship and stuff?
Like, there's still something there.
And like, I will never forget him.
eating a piece of that pie and that smirk.
Yeah.
Good pie.
Like that moment, that's something.
Some might argue the amnesia subplot stalled as momentum, but I feel like it actually
made it more and more funny.
I would say he's higher than the bottom five.
Really?
Yeah.
Are you aware who else is on this list?
We also got some stinkers that are surely bottom five, though.
Okay.
All right.
What about at five away from the bottom?
What about like at 14?
Do you feel comfortable with that?
then there's four left or do you think he's lower?
I personally feel like he's 15 but I can meet you at 14.
You seem more passionate.
Yeah, I moved down one because I was going to say five,
I'm going four.
14.
This will be primarily coy convincing me of his reign.
This will be me negotiating my ranking.
And me being like, yeah, I don't care.
I don't care enough.
I know who that is.
Yeah, fine.
Okay, fine.
Okay, 14.
I feel confident in.
All right.
All right.
Who's next chronological?
Oh, no.
There's three in this one.
Venom.
16.
See,
I feel like Venom is a better villain than Harry Osborne.
I mean, I think they're both.
What is Tofer or Venom do in that film that's interesting?
Because Tofer was trying to play ultimate Eddie Brock.
He looks cool.
He doesn't look cool.
He looks so bad.
He sometimes looks all right.
That suit is so bad.
He sometimes cool.
Why is it the spider?
They actually hurt the Venom symbiate in perpetuity by that silly suit that's just like inked over.
Okay, you're right.
Because I'm only remembering what Venom looks like.
and that strikes me more in the fields than Harry Osborne.
But when we're actually talking about Harry Osborne's what he contributes to that film,
he is better.
And there's one good Eddie Brock scene and it's in the church.
And even that's kind of undercut.
Like, he has one really good scene.
He's also kind of a weenie.
Like Eddie Brock is supposed to be 80s bodybuilding.
I would do 15 because we have to, there's a spot for 16 that based off what we're doing,
I would leave open.
I can live with 15.
Okay.
I'm not, yes.
I would have gone like 18, but I can live with 15.
I mean, I think there's one that's 18 by just default of what.
Just whiningness?
Just all, I mean, when we get there.
Yeah, I feel like we got to go all the way to like brand new day.
Okay.
Oh, interesting.
Mine's, my thought of number 18 was Amazing Spider-Man, too.
We're going to find out together.
Oh, really?
Okay.
All right.
So now we're at Sandman here.
Yes.
Okay.
So where would we put Sandman?
I think Sandman is upper third.
Third.
It's hard.
Okay.
I guess we should.
I feel like it makes the video less fun if we discuss every villain right now.
Or should we just have the discussion?
I think each by each, right?
Not like all of them at once, but like Sandman, we should talk about.
I think he's got pathos.
I think the visuals are really striking.
I think that you care about him as Flint Marco and as Sandman.
There's an enormous sadness to the guy that it's really appealing.
It's body horror.
And he's got the transformation.
scene that is still like pretty iconic.
I mean, that's why I say upper third.
I would say like seven for him.
The reccon and the Uncle Ben Death, though.
That's true.
Maybe eight.
I just can't go under 10.
I think he's top 10.
He's upper half.
I do hate the recon, though.
That's fair.
I would put him in the top six maybe.
Oh, you're higher than I am on it.
Okay.
I was saying seven.
I can live with six.
I guess it would be helpful for me,
kind of anticipate whom I taught five will be.
We're going to have a real struggle if we suddenly end up.
No, no, you're right.
Those seven.
Let's go seven.
Let's go seven.
Because I don't think that whole first row.
Yeah, because I started thinking about Smokovicel.
Yeah, we're going to have a conversation and we're going to be stuck.
Let's go seven.
That's okay.
This is, this is going to get hard.
This is, depends on which.
Well, I'm very curious how watched them is in a video that starts with number one.
And then it's like now it's difficult.
Maybe people just like us talking about Spider-Man.
Let's hope.
Okay, seven.
All right.
So now we're on to like amazing Spider-Man, number one.
which is the lizard.
Yes.
Pretty low.
I like the fight in the hallway,
but I don't really remember the lizard.
I love the way Spider-Man moves fighting the lizard.
It's more of the-
Spider-Man.
Because he does that cool crawl around.
He also has that great hallway sequence.
But that's all Spider-Man.
It is all Spider-Man.
The villain himself.
Not so interesting.
I don't remember Jack shit about him.
Risa Fons didn't even show up for no way home.
They just used old, like, voice work.
You're right.
He's pretty low, dude.
You think like,
I mean, is there some, okay, all right.
I guess I would say a 12.
I was going to say 12.
12.
Yeah, 12.
12.
12.
12.
12.
All right.
Lizard.
Also, like, the design felt a little unsure of itself.
Like, it didn't quite commit to either direction, like, comicy lizard or, like, there's
just enough wrong.
Yeah.
But it's not like, but it's not like angering.
Well, it definitely felt like they wanted to have Dylan Baker in the first three Spider-Man
movies.
And they're like, we never got a lizard.
Put him in the next one.
Yeah.
But Dylan Baker has satisfied the fans.
Well, they keep doing that.
They keep, like, we almost had Craven in Spider-Man far from home.
And then they made a Craven movie.
We almost had Lizard in three Spider-Man.
So Spider-Man 4, Amazing Spider-Man had lizard.
They almost had Vulture and Black Cat in Spider-Man 4.
So we got Vulture in the first Tom.
They literally are like, we got it.
We already did pre-designed.
True, true.
And he does just end up replicating a lot of what the Ramey stuff did with, like, the mentorship.
Yeah.
The father figure and, yeah, there's, okay, yeah.
Okay, we feel good there.
I hope we feel good there because there's other villains coming up.
And I'm like, are they lower that did, should they be 12?
I'm like, part of me is contemplating.
Like, should we have put him at 11?
No, because there's some ones that I think, I think we're going to have to adjust the highs.
Oh, fascinating.
There's some good villains left, in my opinion.
Okay.
All right.
So then Amazing Spider-Man 2.
We got three villains.
Yeah.
We got Harry Osborne.
We got Rino and an election.
Now, Rino, I will put it like, he was my 16 to 18.
Yeah, I was going to say he was my original 18 because it was such a bummer.
Like the mech suit is bad.
The whole point of Rhino.
So I would say maybe the worst or second worst because Rino's entire villain subplot is that he's
trapped in the suit.
Like the whole point is like he's a man that can't escape a Rino's suit.
They give him a MEC suit.
That guy can crawl at any moment.
Yeah.
It like doesn't understand Rino.
Plus Paul Giamides' performance is weird.
It's just way too comical, way too over the top.
It's fundamentally the way it's used is cool because it feels like, you know, just a comic
page come to life.
But the villain itself isn't why.
Well, I've never heard any form of praise at all about that.
You actually gave a little bit of praise.
It feels like you turned a page and you're fighting.
And like there's that little kid moment.
Cute.
Oh,
the ending that.
Oh, yeah,
yeah,
yeah.
But that's a Spider-Man moment,
not a rhino moment.
Wouldn't happen to that rhino,
but the rhino sucks.
It could have been any villain in that moment.
It could have been any villain.
What do you think?
That's true.
Because it wasn't him,
17 or 18.
I would put it at 17.
Just to be safe.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Someone's got to be worse.
I would do 17.
Okay.
There he is old Giamati Rino.
Because like,
honestly,
there's one villain that I completely
forgot about that you reminding me of before we
Oh, that's funny. That I was like,
but is he,
okay, there'll be an argument. We'll get there.
Okay, so then we got Harry Osborne
Green Goblin version.
I mean,
I think the Harry Potter, Harry Potter, Harry Osborne, Peter
relationship is interesting. So there's a little bit of
interest because when he turns, you care.
Like, I thought their chemistry was good.
He was creepy looking. And he came out of nowhere, though.
Like the first movie didn't even allude and all of a sudden he's like,
my best friend Harry.
And it did lead.
to the guet the the quoth of dead
to Stacey.
It did lead to the death
of Gwen Stacy.
Which is an incredible death.
Like I would say
of all
eight core Spider-Man
films,
that's a top five moment.
He would have to be
above lizard at least.
Yes.
I would say
10?
10?
Okay.
Okay.
Let's go 10.
Okay.
Okay.
I got a hot take.
I kind of like Electro.
Really?
Not like a top villain,
but
like what they do with the lecture?
No.
I like him because of a little bit of no way home, but what do you like about him?
He's like a little shoemakery kind of villain.
He's very catwoman.
He's like,
you're obsessed.
I love how you get obsessed with Spider-Man as Max.
It's silly.
And I like how they play itty-bitty spider.
The Times Square fight is pretty cool.
I mean,
I was honestly,
his inclusion in No Way Home doesn't really,
you know,
amp up anything for me.
I didn't know.
Electric puns.
But it didn't really.
I mean, is there something in No Way Home that he does?
I like the line where he's like, oh, I thought you were black.
And he's like, I thought that was a really funny line.
And he also looks more like Electro.
Like he has a little bit more of Max Dillon energy and No Way Home.
Yeah, no, definitely.
It's a completely different guy in no way home.
Totally but that helped me.
Yeah.
It's totally.
It's a completely different.
It's just like now I'm Max Dillon instead of blue crazy guy.
Jimmy Fox playing it like a very different dude.
I would, I would still put him above Lizzer.
I would at least put him at 9.
Oh, okay.
Oh, you put him above.
you would put him below
Harry Osmore?
Because of Harry and Peter,
I think the Harry Peter relationship
enhances the goblin a little bit.
Oh man,
we're really at a crossroads here.
So nine is your vote in my 11's mine?
I would personally because...
You seem really high on it.
How does it even end
with Electro and a made Spider-Man?
I don't even remember what happens.
I don't know,
but he apparently almost dies
because that's the whole No Way Home thing, right?
Like what...
I mean, he's got like the powers.
He's got some cool sound design to him.
He's got a really memorable fight scene.
I can live with nine,
because the fight scene.
I can live with nine.
Okay.
Nine.
Nine co-signed.
We're going to see if that bites us later, but I can live with nine.
I'm going to fight for nine.
We're going to go with nine.
We're going to find out in time how that feels.
This is fun.
This is fun.
I'm having fun.
I was a little worried at the jump because we had a lot of money.
We're just going to inflate our highest card right away.
But we're going to find out together.
Okay.
So what do we got next?
Yeah.
Who's chronic?
Spider-Rat homecoming.
Yes.
Volter.
Number three for me.
Comfy.
Like comfy.
cozy, easy. You would put him above
Mysterio? I would put him
honestly, if people
didn't, if I wasn't afraid
of death threats, I'd put him above Dococ.
I think Vulture... What? Yeah, dude.
You're insane. Dude, the scene in the
car. You're crazy. The scene in the
car with Peter and Adrian 2.
It's a great one scene. They
use the goblin twist for
a new character.
Like, they literally have a guy
that's got a glider adjacent thing. They do
all of the fun Osborne stuff, but with a new
character. They have the father twist, but it's to a daughter instead of a son. The big Norman Osborne
reveal with Harry Osborne is crazy. They do that with the girl he's interested in. They've got all
that manipulation. He figures out who Spider-Man is. They use the Stark Tech in a very interesting
way with damage control. The fact that they use the corpse of Iron Man and he's a literal
vulture of technology, he's a scavenger. And then that ties into the tech element of Spider-Man.
I think he's a great juxtaposition to Tom Holland and they use comic book lore. I think Vulture is so
slept up. I think
Vulture's top 10 MCEU villain.
Oh my God. I'm a vulture head.
You're completely
right about everything you're saying. You are.
You are. The thing that, as I was
listening to it, though, is
I don't really think of any
vulture stuff with him.
I think more of...
I think the fight in a plane is awesome. I think Adrian Toombs
stuff. Yeah. And that's
what we're making... What I just described. Which are those
scenes of like the car
and then in the kitchen. And
his intention, which is not bad.
I mean, Adrian Toombs and Vulture are one and the same.
He doesn't represent really what Vulture is from the comics to me.
And when I think of the fight scenes in it, I don't really even remember the plane sequence
that well.
Whereas I think like a big, I guess the thing to consider is, do we just consider like
characterization or do we kind of consider what their power scales are?
I mean, adaptation maybe, but like power, but in terms of, if we're talking villainy.
You know what?
I will give you that I don't think of Vulture stuff.
I think of Adrian's stuff, which is, which is a thing.
They should have both.
So I could do four or five.
I can do, because I do think Mysterio is as good as vulture, but there is more mysterious stuff and Quentin Beck stuff.
So if we're accounting for the duality of man, then I think Mysterio's higher.
I would personally, I would probably put him at, I'd probably put Mysterio.
Okay, yeah, they're, oh, fuck, you're right.
This is when it gets hard.
Right.
Yeah, we're running out of deck.
Because there's somewhere in the three to five, both of them.
Right.
Okay.
All right.
What,
where,
do you still want Volterat three?
You're way more passionate about than I am.
I can live with four because I think I'm confident in Mysterio at three.
But also I'm not looking ahead.
So I could be shooting myself in the foot.
Okay.
Because we're,
we're into Tom's trilogy,
right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I feel like,
I feel like four in Mysterio three,
but I'm not sure where that,
who,
who five is now.
Like I,
you know what I mean?
Like I'm missing some.
I feel like I know my three through five is just a,
So it's the order that I'm kind of lost on on what to do.
And whereas I don't know my next favorite.
I know I'm very confident in Vulture and Mysterio being high.
Okay.
So let's put.
Okay, fine.
We just said it.
All right.
So let's put Vulture at four.
I can live with four.
Four?
Yeah, yeah.
I like four.
I think they got a really good about Volter.
I think a lot of people would agree with you.
He's so good.
Like,
and I also think his performance,
the fact that he's,
fuck,
he's Batman.
And I don't think a Batman once in that movie.
Like,
not even cheekily.
The fact that he's so good in that film I don't even consider.
True.
Like that's an impressive performance.
That's good.
But yeah, I'm gonna go for.
And I really like what vulture represents because I never understood vulture in the comics being like, what is he scavenging?
He's a bank robber.
And I get that's kind of like, but when you make him a tech scavenger, that's a vulture.
Like he's getting the remnants of stuff.
True, true.
Okay, cool.
So Mysterio.
I think comfortably three.
Comfortably for me three, I would say.
Yeah.
Because I, until you, I was going to go through four the other way, but as soon as you mentioned the, the duality, I think Mysterio represents all the things I like about Vulture, but his power set use is better.
Yeah, he creates like the elementals.
And also that scene where he's fighting.
The nightmare sequence is my favorite sequence in the John Watts trilogy.
Yeah.
Oh, absolutely.
Like it's, it's John to meet a senior come to life.
That's so good.
That's the coolest visual thing that he's ever done.
Yeah, that whole.
And it's also like, I think it's the most.
prophetic villain.
Like we're entering the age where this stuff is happening.
It kind of looks at AI.
It looks at hologram technology.
It looks at so that movie came out five years ago.
No, almost eight years ago.
And it was kind of what we have to be worried about now.
Like he literally makes false imagery and it causes people to go to prison.
It causes things to go.
And that's happening now.
And this movie was eight years ago shooting it shot.
So I think that element plus the fact that it uses Stark Tech and Barf,
Plus the fact that Quentin Beck is really like interesting.
Like Jake Jillon Hall has that like bond with Tom Holland's Peter Parker.
And I also like the metaness that Jake Jillen Hall almost played Peter Parker.
So there's almost a mentorship.
Like the C-Biscuit backbreak almost caused Jake Jillan Hall to be Peter.
And then years later they're like kind of like with the characters.
They were like we need Jake Jillan Hall.
So I like the metanus and the use of Jake.
Well, speaking of the mentorship, how he weaponizes the need for guidance.
in that movie.
He wants a father figure.
He's like, how cool am I?
Webinizes the grief.
Yeah.
And for a hot minute there, even though it was like, he's mysterious.
He's got to be a bad guy.
He's still almost wanted to believe.
There's a part of like, did they rewrite this character?
Yeah, because that's a charming good.
The scenes are good when he's pretending to be a good guy.
Yeah.
It's actually believable.
It's not how I feel about Bill Metzger and Spider-Man brand new day where I'm like,
this guy's obviously bad guy.
Yeah.
Look at this bad man.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
So, okay, let's, I like this.
I like our top four.
So far, it's looking really pretty, I would say.
I am proud of our, we're mostly done.
Okay.
Now I'm getting scared.
So no way home, they don't introduce anybody, right?
There's no villains introduced, is there?
No.
Huh.
Time.
Memory, race.
Consequence.
Yeah.
Grief.
Grief.
The death of admin.
Yeah.
Okay.
I'm kind of glad because that movie's full.
I'm like, who would, like, it'd be too full if they tried to also origin a villain.
Cool.
Cool.
All right. So let's move on a brand new day then.
All of these slots are brand new day. That's crazy.
Okay. So here's what we have. We have villains's montage.
While that's great, I feel like we should put that at 18 because nothing happens with them.
But it sets, it's a mezz on sen. It gives us a sense of time passing.
It gives us a sense of how much better he's gotten. It gives us a sense of like his growth as a character.
What else would be at 18?
I mean, I said, Rhino.
It's true.
I did.
I lobby.
Like, it's a cool moment, but I mean, also was it.
We wanted to see a true comic come to life from the beginning.
But they just create a visual image, but that's about all they do is they just recreate an image.
And like, you get the Tombstone moment where you're like, oh, man, I kind of wish Tombstone was an actual character.
And they just left me feeling a little bit.
Oh, see, I was like, oh, what a great way to actually show how much he's been doing.
I thought the opposite.
I thought like, oh, these villains, I don't need to see a boomerang origin.
I don't need to like.
But if you don't know the.
Yeah.
Really does it do anything for the audience?
It shows the audience how many guys he's been fighting.
Like it shows four years of college.
Villain threat level, though.
In terms of a villain to have to conquer, there's nothing really that they establish as a difficult thing he had to overcome.
Even Rhino presents a tad bit of an obstacle for him.
I think to me it's like we don't see the obstacles of MJ and net at school, but we see the passage of time and maturity.
And Spider-Man is literally taking over his life.
So we don't see Peter Parker in a montage.
We see Spider-Man.
What else does Spider-Man do it except fighting villains?
Like, it represents time passage.
But with everyone else on the list, who would be 18?
I think the guy that I reminded you of that we didn't do yet, that we forgot about.
Fair enough.
We totally forgot about it.
That's why he's 18.
18 is the tinkerer.
I think the guy that is in front of us that literally you forgot existed until I reminded you.
We forgot again in real time.
With him in front of our face.
You're right.
It is totally tinker.
It's got to be tinker.
Because I didn't even remember me?
I was like tinkers in the movie?
Greg texted me while we were literally setting up.
He's like, am I forget to give it again?
I was like, oh, tinker and if you want to count both shockers, we also forgot the shockers.
Oh my God, we forgot the shockers.
The ones I told you.
I tried to help.
Okay.
Oh, fuck.
Because I was 18.
I like shocker, dude.
I like both shockers.
I guess I would.
okay fine I guess we would put shockers
I love that we don't forgot
yeah you're like there's no more villains
uh shockers
but it just shows how forgettable they are
uh shockers I would put
I guess I would put shockers at 13
and then um oh wow
I was gonna go eight
you're gonna go eight
okay it's a character that is in the comics
like C list they know how to play MC list
they they pass the torch showing the legacy
of like villains just pick up each other stuff
they set up the bar with no name
it causes the Miles Morales Camio
Like all of those things are so cool for the lore
And I think both Bocheme Woodbine
And almost Tom Hardy
I forget the dude's name Logan Marshall
Logan Marshall Green are both good as different shockers
One's a liability because he doesn't listen
The other guy's trying to like
Byte his time power hungry
Both represent different sides of what shocker represents
Like I think they capture some flavor
And they also it looks awesome
I'm not saying it's top like
It shouldn't be higher
But I'd say eight or 11 not 13
I can compromise at 11, but I don't think it's last, last column.
I mean, all he has one more movie left after Shocker, though.
We even see Shocker Tech used in brand new day.
He leaves an impact.
I'd still put him at 11 personally.
I can live with 11.
You said 13 and I felt betrayed.
I'll go 11.
Okay.
He went up one slot.
11 shockers.
Okay.
Also, I love Shocker.
That's part of the problem.
I love the character.
Okay, 11.
And then, okay, 16, I guess, would be the montage.
Let me look at what's left.
Because I loved it.
But I also know that I'm coming from the biggest bias in the game.
Who else are we arguing for 13?
Did I count too many people?
That'd be so funny.
If we're like trying to figure out a little like absence.
I don't feel like I count it too many people.
There's five left.
And we've got montage.
Okay.
Oh, yeah, no, no.
We're fine.
Okay.
I would say.
I would say 16 is.
is montage 13 would be the the hand yeah i can live with that yeah because while the hand fight is
okay say while the hand fight is incredible and one of the best fights in the entire spider-man
franchise as a whole they're not really characters no and by design they were brainwashed by
metzger and then brainwashed by her and then to actually it's weird but they they would follow like
the punisher timeline from the show but completely disregard all of the hand that last
a few seasons within and they're just like troubled teenagers or something.
Whatever the fuck they were.
Yeah.
They need guidance.
That's all they are.
I let the record show.
I would personally put the montage higher,
but I understand with this format,
there's nowhere for it.
I can do 16.
I can go 16 montage.
Okay.
I would say it's better than Venom.
I feel like soon.
That's not obviously real photos from the movie.
That's some awesome fan art that someone made and I forgot where I got that screenshot from.
I'm sorry.
I just got it.
I totally fucked up on that.
I would say I would switch Venom.
I'd have him at least 15, but I understand.
We've done the list.
It's in stone.
It's in stone now.
These are not movable images.
We're getting a tattoo of this after.
It's permanent 13 to hand.
I can agree with that.
I think it was a very cool fight,
but I need at least like something to feel on top of it being awesome.
Yeah.
I think it also represents like a really cool moment in Peter Parker,
but that's what we were saying earlier about other villains.
Like it's got to be about them and.
Okay.
So then we're milking.
this, Bill Metzger.
Yep.
Gene Gray and Scorpion.
Okay.
Okay.
Scorpion, I would,
damn, the fight is cool, but I was so let down by what, I mean, he just gets his ass kicked by Spider-Man the entire franchise.
He's got a cool fight, but he, even the performance of him as Scorpion is not really Scorpion.
It's him playing her.
Yeah.
That's not his fault.
But we haven't really seen Mac Gargan.
It's like, yes, he's got the cool visual moment, but I would put him in a.
I'm gonna put him at eight.
I'll put him at eight.
Okay.
So I think we both know we're five.
Yep.
Yeah.
Okay.
And I believe I do think we will get more scorpion.
I think there's a very good potential for the next in the trilogy to get Scorpion.
He's doing a lot of interviews.
Yeah.
For this movie, he seems very excited about being back.
I think put a mask on him like go all the way.
Like you can make him even more Scorpion the next time and make them like a threat and like opening
fight.
Yeah.
Because we're familiar.
I don't need to give him an origin.
I mean,
your friendly neighborhood Spider-Match.
A lot of people say that he can't be a main villain.
I'm like,
Friendly, Edward Spirman, proved you can't.
Timstone and Scorpion are the leads of that show.
Like, sometimes over Spider-Man.
They proved, especially for street level.
Okay, so six would be Bill.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
The only trickiness here was, like, between Bill at eight or Scorpion at five.
Like, that was my only switcher-roo.
Like, I was-fell pretty confident in our five.
But, yeah, I think, you know, the performance was very, like, I'm a bad guy.
But at the same time, like, I believe that that bad guy would have his beliefs.
And this is also a character that normally would
just be like a boring generic person to watch but tremel tilman is never boring he's not boring
that allows it to be he makes the character who would be boring and very fun to watch that's the thing
like writing wise i would not have metzger's take at six but with the tremel tilman bump yeah puts it there
yeah yeah and i believed uh you know some of his like more absurdist lines because tremel tilman can
like deliver anything definitely definitely and uh okay coming at number five number five the gray the gene gray
and I think that
I think that works
she can you know
she can control minds
the whole time
power wise I think it's a really fun thing
like and I don't know if we've talked about this but I love
that they didn't tell us who she was
we all assumed but also
it does kind of have a sense of
she's younger than Peter
and it shows his maturity that he's
gotten to a place that he's giving
someone else advice and that does kind of
shed evolution, pun intended, the Iron Man Jr. Stank.
Like, I never had as big of a problem with the Iron Man, uh, junior element.
Cause I don't think Tony Stark has nearly as much screen time as people think he does.
I think his impact is huge. Like everywhere I look, I see his face. Like those things are big.
But my biggest issue was it made Spider-Man's tech not as big of a deal. This film fixed that.
So I'm cool with it now because Spider-Man's got his own tech. He's doing his own stuff.
Spider-Man's a scientist alone. But then also with the emotional connection to Gene, he's,
He's maturing out of mentor into mentee.
Like he's, sorry, he's maturing out of mentee to mentor with Gene in particular.
And I like the idea of, of Gene having a role model in May because of how connected emotionally Peter is to her, that they literally plug and play her in.
And that allows Peter to understand that he can't isolate her.
He'll turn out like her.
Like she's isolated, not my choice.
Peter's isolated by choice.
So I really love that the villain of this is isolation.
as represented by Gene to put yourself in a position of like not having community is the villain
but Gene represents that.
So I think she's a great villain because that's literally like the psychic boundary we put on ourselves,
especially post-pandemic.
We don't allow ourselves to be open.
She gets to represent all that and she's physically a telekinetic.
And we get to see her evolve grow.
I think,
I think five.
Yeah.
And the way she actually will psychologically fuck with Peter too.
Yeah.
That would crazy.
The MJ kiss on the roof and all that things like that.
Yeah.
There's a lot of.
And like even when we don't know for sure if she's Jean Gray yet, the, the,
the hopping. There's a sinisterness when like he first does the explosive web and then that black
guy starts talking to him. Yeah, that guy was just a fan. Yeah. Some of those people too who played
Gene, great job. Incredible work. Yeah. Some of those people do a really good job who are like,
did they have to be one person. But I was like, I'm surprised by how like that dude was actually
kind of scary. Yeah, that was a really good. And then. Sarah Rhavenman, a casting super connected to her
by the end. It's the, I think the one caveat is that you know she won't stay a villain. Right. But in this
story and as of right now recording this she is the antagonist though the main antagonist
also i mean we both have talked about it a lot but i think having her be a pure villain for 90%
of the film is what we need because the mc u set us up in such a tricky spot of why are the
avengers in new york revered and you can have a big a up and we can be like yay and the mutants
in westchester an hour away are like they are bad right and we need that sort of kickoff so i think
she had to be doing deplorable stuff like the mj kiss like we have
to start there so the world can be like,
yo mutants.
She had to.
We don't know what that guy did.
Yeah.
He's probably a peto or something.
We don't know.
He could have been.
She would know.
That was a creep.
She would know.
She only possesses bad guy.
She's the Dexter Morgan.
Popped in there.
We'll find that out.
Of all the New York City.
Oh,
I feel some guilt.
She's only ever controlled bad people.
And that MJ kiss was just like.
MJ,
what's a bad person?
That's the big villain in five.
Anyway,
guys, that's our ranking.
I like this list.
I think it's a pretty good list.
I got a little worried about
halfway at like the ratio of open to full and like looking at who was left.
But I think it's very fitting that number 18 we forgot about twice.
Yeah.
I think that is so.
And it's also like that became our biggest argument too.
And it was like,
I fundamentally disagree.
Oh, wait,
we got a guy.
And also like tinkerers of very old school like,
uh,
Stan Lee, Steve Dickko villain like in that era.
And I think it works that the modernization didn't quite take.
Well, guys,
what will be your ranking?
Put it in the comments.
low. If you don't want to do all, you could do at least like your top five. It would be cool to hear what
you guys have to say. How heavily do you disagree with us on points that were made or this entire
ranking system? Tell us why we're wrong, whatever you want to know. And once again,
thanks to Hume for sponsoring this video. There's a link of the description box and pin comment.
I really do actually love the product. It's been, uh, it's, it's been helping me be accountable
again because I admittedly haven't been that accountable. Summer got so hot. Yeah. And it was
for me, that was the hardest part. It was like, once it got hot, I was like, how do I work out?
I'm physically dying.
Yeah, true.
Poor Andrew Garfield.
He's all second half.
I just realized.
That happens.
Anyway, thank you, Hume.
Thank you guys.
Hume in the description box.
I'm calling it.
Keep shining them out.
Bye, guys.
