Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, what up citizens of the reject nation? We're here to watch Reacher Season 4, Episode 8. I'm Greg. This is John. John, you excited for the finale? I am. I'm not ready to say. I don't want to wait for more Reacher. What did you say? I don't want to wait for more. Reacher, because, you know, season 5, it'll be like a million years until they make that. But also, you know, I'm excited that we don't have to wait.
Starting point is 00:00:22 I guess, I guess. Is it consistently out like every year? Well, it feels longer. Does it? Yeah. I feel like they come out pretty consistent. Well, then I'm excited to. Reacher to look forward to.
Starting point is 00:00:31 How are you? Are you excited? I'm excited, man. It's longer than all the other episodes, so there's a lot to look forward to here. All right. Let's get to it. Thank you to kickoff for sponsoring this video. More on them in just a bit.
Starting point is 00:00:46 All right, guys. Well, we have finished Reacher season four. Thank you for everyone who's been on this journey with us. Leave a like while you're here. Also, thanks for everyone who's been joining our Patreon page. That's, of course, we can get the. full reaction support the channel what so much happened in this season finale john did it's crazy intense threw down brutality club action CIA guy forgot about showing up a little cameo
Starting point is 00:01:18 wife's not evil and cat comes back no evil cat our boy gets to publish an article we buried our buddy buried our buddy buried our buddy Reacher feeds the unhoused. That's right. We let some ashes loose. What did you feel about this finale? Do you feel like it's one of their better ones? I really enjoyed this finale, I would say.
Starting point is 00:01:40 This was really intense. I liked, I mean, you know, the just knockdown, drag out brawl, especially through the, you know, their little burnt out warehouse building that they're trying to stay at this last stand in. This is the restaurant at all. very intense. It was cool in an age where we talk about the behind the scenes
Starting point is 00:02:04 of like oh this person's contract and that person's contract and people can't look weak on screen. Yeah, it's nice to always you know, I mean it's not the first time this happened in the show but yeah to have really watch Reacher being a situation where he's got to work and he's got to pull
Starting point is 00:02:21 through with just like raw grit sometimes when you know his wealth of technique is maybe outmatched. Yeah, it was very cool, very exciting. And then, you know, the various little CODA wrap-ups warmed my heart were quite nice. So I'm feeling good. How are you feeling?
Starting point is 00:02:39 Do you think this was one of their better finalies? I feel like it's one of their better ones for sure. I think it had a nice little emotional touch at the end, too, which surprised me of having, like, because he's a guy who lives on the streets. So helping his fellow sister out on the streets. It's a really nice moment. nice humanity touch not just getting involved in like a big crime conspiracies and whatever
Starting point is 00:03:03 like he's someone who gets involved in the actual he's just about helping people that's the whole point of reacher at the same time they gave us a finale where I usually feel like they're like all right they know they have to go I was actually wondering that about how they've done so much big action scenes
Starting point is 00:03:20 in this season already that I was like what are they going to do for their finale episode they give us a stare at will fight They gave us a fight they've never done before with having the two women. And one, like a dual knife fight. Yeah, exactly. Like, they gave us, like, a different type of choreography. It is really, to your point, I think it is really cool that Alan Richardson knows, like, too.
Starting point is 00:03:41 And because he's really involved in these seasons as a creative producer. I listened to quite a few interviews with him over the past couple years. And he's, he's an active producer who loves to be, like, creatively involved in this shit. So, like, I know that he was probably his call to, like, no, he's got to get, like, fucked up like he's got to he's got to show him in the most vulnerable state and I think like season three was one word throughout the whole season they put him in a very vulnerable state and then here he gets put in a very physically vulnerable state because I'm used to kind of him in the finale like just kind of kicking ass and shooting people and shit and big explosions even when he fought like
Starting point is 00:04:14 the big guy the poly guy in the last season that was a highlight but you know it wasn't like oh reacher's really in trouble here you know you really feel the slashes and shit in this in this episode, which I thought was really effective. The fight with you know, like I like the club fight and like the whole like coming down there that was a little convenient that the glass doesn't
Starting point is 00:04:37 bounce him. I mean, I don't know, maybe I'm wrong about that. You guys are top it away like actually the glass wouldn't. I don't know if I kind of feel like a glass container like that would bounce off of a chair a roll a little bit like it's kind of feels like I'm just like perfectly landed flat. How gushy is that couch?
Starting point is 00:04:54 Yeah. I do kind of wish they added a little more nuance to our main two girls because the reveal was really good and the setup of them was really good but then they kind of just made them really one note uh despite like how like i like i like psycho ass fucking killers and shit um but i do wish that they had a little more nuance with the wrap around with everything was really well played too um the montage wrap up it was like one of the more emotional wrapups i think yeah yeah in a way that was found very tender and I would probably say this is, I probably say it's my favorite season. I think overall this is my favorite season, especially because they actually really stuck a really good landing. I really love the first season. It's probably like the coolest one to me
Starting point is 00:05:40 and the most like style that I prefer overall, the overall aura of that season. But I would say this is probably my favorite one still, in spite of that because of just like the way they managed to make this show. Like, I even, you know, as much as I give the brother shit. I actually thought when he, like, arrested her, even though it was, like, really predictable, that it's pretty emotional. Like, actually, that was a little, I mean, a little misty eye. I was surprised.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Like, oh, shit, you know what? The guy's been fucking monologue in this whole season. You know, you can have your whole life together while your credit still tells the story of who you used to be. Maybe you fell behind during a rough stretch. Maybe nobody taught you credit. Or maybe you've barely built any. Then you're trying to get a car, an apartment, home, or business opportunity. and your pass is still making decisions for you.

That's always a good moment when you're, yeah, when that scene went down, I was caught up in it. And, you know, I kind of agree with some of your assessment of him over time. But yeah, even here despite the beats being, you know, familiar, he really sold that. and like the kind of collective impact of everything up till then actually started to like register. Yeah, for me just as an emotional, yeah, outpour.
Starting point is 00:08:26 It was nice. Yeah, but not. I think the overall, like, I think they really like their supporting characters too. Yeah, outside of their villains. I think they actually really like their, like Tamara and the reporter and every, like, I feel like they really cared about them. And it didn't just seem like they had to write to enhance them. I think there was a lot of really like focused effort overall.
Starting point is 00:08:51 And most of this episode was dedicated to action in spite of the last like 10 minutes or so. But that's usually what the reacher fineries are. But I felt like that still was more engaging than usual for a reacher finale, honestly. Yeah, it's like all the circumstances tracked. It didn't, you know, this felt like a natural, you know, like there are some conclusions that we arrive at in the previous episode. But this felt sometimes you're watching the last act of. or the last movement of something and you're like, I know where we need to go and you're kind of waiting for it to happen. And this didn't carry that. I was still caught up in the intensity and the
Starting point is 00:09:24 sort of like, yeah, they have one. I felt the desperation the whole time. It's like they have one more opportunity to set off this weapon. We have one more opportunity to intercept them and to stop this. And it's like, you know, bare knuckled, white knuckled, you know, like just by the skin of your teeth the whole time. And, uh, and yeah, this is made for, it's like it's, it's, like, it's, it's not a lot of extra wrap-up beyond that, but you don't need that. Like this was, yeah, like the kind of centerpiece to place at the top of it all. And even though, yeah, it's like the biggest complaint across the season is mostly just, ah, I wish the villains were more interesting.
Starting point is 00:10:00 It's like I feel like you could spend more time with them and you don't even have to make them like sympathetically nuanced even. It's like I did notice just like, oh, we're not really doing much with them anymore. But like I liked what they brought as actors, like when they're in these, especially in this episode, when you do spend a little bit more time as a fly on their wall. Like, I was more engaged than episodes, like, by them than by episodes where they just, like, show them in, like, one moment. And then we cut away and we don't really think or we don't really see them beyond, you know, true.
Starting point is 00:10:32 Info dumps. But, uh, but yeah, like, you know, even beyond the, the slightness of their writing, like, some really memorable moments with them still. I mean, they got cool action. I like that that one lady just seems like she's, uh, impossible. to take down physically. Just so dedicated to the cost. Just kept kicking her ass and she falls down several stories on a, onto concrete.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Yeah. Sidewalk. Michael Myers. Slam and not even a limp. Yeah. Not even a little cut. No, just nothing.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Just fucking. No head trauma. Nothing at all. Not a broken. Like, holy shit, what are you, lady? What the hell are you? Um, so yeah, I was a, outside of that movement. Well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:14 So you're not beating the like, they're, you're not beating that they're potentially cyborg's allegations really and even the thing where where she's like i don't know what i enjoyed more and fucking you were killing you i'm like i almost i almost feel like at that point just lean into that just give me more of that and even if it's like a little bit silly like at least like because it is a show right i think you're right it's like they do really care about their supporting characters and i almost feel like the good heart of the show sort of shows you that they care the most about the more sympathetic characters and part of me you're me it's like oh just just do a little more with the characters we're supposed to hate even if it's a little heightened yeah you know but yeah yeah yeah by and large this was a really fun and satisfying and you know between the payoff with like kevin corrigan and stuff last week and then this you know to wrap up everybody else like you know i feel like most of our major players got honored everybody got a moment this is fun yeah that was great man a great season and probably yeah i probably say it's my favorite one Yeah, this is great.
Starting point is 00:12:16 What do you guys think about the season, though? Was it your favorite? Leave your thoughts down below. Are you excited for more reacher to come? We are not committed to covering Neely. You know that right now. But it's as big, I know you guys are like, please do. And I appreciate your interest.
Starting point is 00:12:32 But at this moment in time, with everything that was also on the schedule and some other stuff, it just seems really hard to jam that in right now. Sure, sure. And like there's even like a bit of apprehension with covering this show. So it might not seem like a lot. But there's usually like several hours that go in and make you one of these. And I appreciate you guys. Even though there's like a whole team working around this.
Starting point is 00:12:55 The time constraints might not allow it. But we'll see. We'll see. If we do, we do. If we don't and you wanted it. Sorry. But either way, let us know if it's worth watching. All right, guys.
Starting point is 00:13:07 Well, we'll see you guys soon. Peace out, guys.
