Join Greg Alba and John Humphrey as they dive into the latest explosive chapter of Amazon Prime Video's Reacher Season 3, titled "Smoke on the Water." In this searing installment, Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson, Blue Mountain State, Titans, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,) finds himself face-to-face with the sinister & unpredictable Quinn (Brian Tee, The Wolverine, Jurassic World). In "Smoke on the Water," Reacher manages to gain the favor of Quinn (aka Julius McCabe) who, organization-compromised, begins a mad rush to alter every facet of his operation. This puts Duffy (Sonya Cassidy, Lodge 49, Humans) & Villanueva (Roberto Montesinos, Gridiron Gang, We Bought a Zoo) directly in harm's way as Richard Beck (Johnny Berchtold, The Wilds) discovers their operation and is pulled into a harrowing roulette sequence opposite his father, Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall, The Breakfast Club, The Dead Zone). We also get one of the most BADASS sequences in the show as Quinn's Goons attempt to ambush Neagley (Maria Sten, Swamp Thing, Channel Zero) to bone-crunching & very satisfying ends... Gregory 'n Johnald break down every riveting moment—from a heart-stopping showdown set against swirling smoke and flames to subtle exchanges that peel back the layers of hidden motives. "Smoke on the Water" delivers a masterful blend of action, suspense, and emotional depth, setting the stage for an unforgettable climax to the season! Ewe.
His odds of survival get a lot worse than one in five.
Would Polly do that?
He's ready to go at any time.
He's chubbed up right now.
Come on, use some reach your knowledge.
I would just point the gun towards the cave and just shoot it like six times.
I mean in this situation?
Although, Paulie cut.
Oh, the Polly cut.

The audience, the show thought of what the audience would be.

Is Teresa a redhead?
Is that Teresa?
No, oh, it's the guy.
Oh, that's Harley.
Yeah, Teresa's definitely redhead, though.
I don't remember what she looks like.
He's got a thing for redheads.
That's water.
Son of a bitch.
I wonder whose choice
it was to have him chew in tobacco.
Probably is.
Yeah.

Great.
Don't look at me.
I'm scared of her, too.
Hey.
Where are you going, dog?
Where are you going to go?
Huh, fire.
Yeah.
It was a very Michael Myers reaction to fire.
Oh.
Burn it down.
Yeah.
It means this is not here.
Jack Scocher.
You're not going to anywhere to come back.
Damn dog, let's go.
Let's go.
I'm proud of you.
He's ever been more extracted to her than now.
Yeah, the kid's definitely gonna happen again right after this.
But save his little shipwheel.
Talk, asshole.
You bitch.
when this guy took off the cave just he went crazy and he changed everything up he didn't

What about the gun sale?
He changed everything up.
We don't know where or when.
If I quit.
That's my man, Brenner Fletcher right there.

I think this captain should go down with his ship.
Yep.
Pull up.
Pull it out of yourself.
Damn.
Wow.
Wow.
Call it my name.
Oh, and the show.
That was great.
And the episode.
And it was like a reasonable explore.
Oh, no, they're about to do it.
We got a break.
Oh, let's go.
You're sneaking peaks.
Excuse me?
Oh, damn.
Oh, my God.
How are you not flustered?
How often do you do shit like this?
Every so often.
Once a season
That's our last lead
Burning up out there
You know
And with you exposed
We have no one
Inside Quinn's operation
We're flying blind now
With no way to get to Teresa
You're so hitting on her
It's not exactly true
We have a man inside
Just doesn't know it yet
My dude
Back your sunscreen Duffy
We're going to Los Angeles
Whoa
Whoa
Ritcher in L.A
do we know
I'm trying to remember
do we know
I was thinking
man richard richie somehow
but is it somebody
from a previous season
are we going to go get
what's his name
is it going to be
you know
his homie with the kids
no
all right
is he in LA
there are New Yorkers
I thought so
but I don't know
maybe he moved to that
I forget how everybody
ended off last season
but I think that got me
I think he was a lot.
All right.
Well, thanks Prepper for editing down these reaction highlights.
They added for a lot of reaction channels.
And that's why all reaction channels are now the same thing.
Because Prepper is edited in the mall.
That's right.
We just watched Reacher season three, episode six.
I was in a terrible mood today.
And that definitely helped change my state yet again.
So I'm feeling really grateful for this show right now.
how are you john same this uh yeah like there was a moment i think during the episode where i could
feel myself just kind of swept up in the current of the show and uh yeah like this season already
has been very strong and i feel like our collective opinion and you know this momentum as we again
lead to the end of the season and as we you know pull back a lot of the curtains and really sort of
light the fire up is really thrilling and two it's just a small detail but i like an episode that
creates one set of stakes like reachers cover is blown with the kid but then that ultimately isn't
really the problem you know like some bigger fish are about to be fried and uh yeah i mean with two
more episodes to go it's weird it's like it feels like there's still when you start episode six
of eight you feel like those three episodes it's like a good amount of time and now like oh damn we're
down to the wire the end is coming you know
And I'm just excited to see how it pans out,
especially with so many birthday party people about to show up
right as he cuts his ear off.
But, uh, yeah.
Yeah, that's weird family trait.
Every generation, we cut her ear off.
Yes.
You guys are just a time.
We thought no one would want to watch this.
Reject Nation, I currently am on a very specific macro plan.
Calories, fat, carbs, protein, you know the goods.
And what's very fortunate for me, some of the brands that we have partnered with recently are products that I've already been using.
So throughout this journey, I want to keep you guys updated on my health and fitness goals.
January 25th, that was 218 pounds.
At the time of filming this one, just under 198.
A little lighter than the last time I mentioned today's sponsor, Hewell, baby, that's right.
I already had it already tore it open because I just had one earlier today.
This is my own order.
This is that I've paid with my own money because I love the product.
It's been one of my go-to drinks on this journey.
And Huell's black condition-rated drink is a complete meal in a bottle.
It's packed with 35 grams of protein, 27 essential vitamins and minerals.
So you're not just filling up, you're fueling up, as we like to say.
Here's why I keep coming back to it.
It's freaking efficient.
It's ready.
Just grab it, drink it.
Dunzo.
It actually tastes great.
That's so important.
A lot of protein shakes look good, but taste bad.
This one, smooth, delicious, and no chalky aftertaste.
I got low sugar, high protein, good macros.
Fits into my plan without ruining any of my progress.
The other thing, too, is I got more flavors than have chocolate, vanilla, ice coffee,
strawberry banana, which is what my wife, Olivia, loves to drink.
Or if you can't decide, you just grab a variety box.
That's an option, too.
It's affordable.
Each bottle is under five bucks.
Make it an easy choice for anyone looking for a quick, nutritious meal.
If you want to give it a go like myself, here's the deal.
You go to Huell.com, use my code rejects, and get 15% off your first order, plus a free gift.
That's Huel.com code rejects.
Fuel your body right, even on the go.
Hopefully, you love it just as much as I do.
Yeah, I think you make a really great point, actually, about that because it feels like the episode might be about the prologue with the sun finding out,
and then that's setting up the rest of the episode and watching how the machinations or dominoes will fall.
and they kind of just explode implode in and of itself in a way that was truly gripping you know like there's so much buildup to Quinn being on screen and you get like a pre-introduction when in the flashback and in some ways he's playing like two different roles this guy because there's the Quinn before and then there's the Quinn after death resurrected whatever right and I think I don't
don't know who's playing him but man he's really good he's really scary and he's easily the best
villain uh so far of the reacher series no no villain has come close to actually like damn this guy's
actually scary and you need you need him dead like you want to see him die yeah because he's
truly a sadist and this is a role that could easily be cheesy and it's going to sound weird
because of course i can't set any specific examples but as an as an asian american man i have
often paid attention to when Asian American actors or Asian actors are cast in villainous
roles and a lot of times are going to be kind of one note and a little corny in how it's done
and I think he's great I think he's really really great yeah and the effect of that
roulette scene was one of the most intense scenes of this show like there's a lot of fun in
this show and it's very gripping but truly suspenseful intensity I
uh is not something i actually say with the reacher show i think this season has provided that
the most and this episode was the most like tense uh i felt and it and it it reaches the right
sinister quality not sinister with uh quinn but overall menace of the darkness that they
were like the one 10 world yeah can handle the darkness because they're a little dark themselves
like a reacher like freaking neely's badass scene that's my favorite scene of hers ever oh yeah
she's no she's barely in the season and uh that whole scene like she owned it man that
watched that guy die and it's like it's menacing you know this is a dark it's darkness on
her end too in a way that you're like that's awesome though for for uh the characters this is
this is this is like a truly uh truly a great season
into television and I don't know
I haven't been too concerned about the YouTube
views on this it's been kind of like a random
discussion that we've had where
we sometimes bring up
I think I've only brought up once like
why the reach review is not great
like the actual view count
and I'm going to you know is it the show
is it us from like
to like we do damage to like
where are we because I know we're different people now
and we approach things with different now
because we like to grow and stuff
so I'm like I don't remember
too, we were a little more goofy back
then. I don't know. It's
coming about something else I'm talking about now, but I'm
going like, oh, why are the reach reviews? Not really there.
And I haven't looked at other people's channels to be like,
is it just kind of an all-around-the-board thing?
Or is this what we're doing now, just not
receptive? Beyond that
though, it's nice to watch a show
that you're doing every week for YouTube
and you're not even really giving a shit about
the low views. You're like, this is just
like, I just really love this show.
Yeah. This is what, this is probably going to
be my, I don't know, like the one thing
is the the heart of roscoe and reacher is so undeniable right it is so good and it's such a smart
thing for a first season and that's the only thing that's not quite there like i love duffy i think
she is an incredible character yeah and i even like the way they're illustrating the romance
or not the romance but at least like the sexual chemistry the tension between them and the
understanding like it could be like a cool friends with benefit situation you know like you see them
sleeping together but not like being boyfriend and girlfriend whereas like uh rosco you're like oh
that's like the love of his life yeah like get away they try doing that with the girl in the second
season but i really feel it more rossco i think most people do um but i love her as a character
that's like the only thing this season doesn't really have um that i'm like oh i love that
romantic heart i'm a sucker for that yeah beyond that i'm like but every other quality
it's just like the flavor is it's
It is just such a
suspenseful-ass show.
Like this dark,
bleak
world of Maine
sadness of it.
There's something so threatening
about the idea
you could be a corpse
that washes away in the sea.
I love it.
I think this is such a good show.
Yeah.
And this episode
are tons of flavorful moments.
That whole thing
where like Anthony Michael Hall,
you watch him go from
this demoral.
The moralizing thing in the warehouse where he just has to, you know, completely capitulate to McCabe, Quinn, and then in the house confronting a reacher like, were you trying to be his mom now or you're trying to be his dad, you know? And even, you know, little flourishes and details that come out of the other characters. Like when she kisses him in the alley and the whole like thing that happens between them is just its own little unique moment. And she's like acting as if he did anything in that moment when she definitely instigated it. But she's just, it's just, it's just.
She's never even really denying that.
It's just like a fun human moment that feels really of the character in a way that could be
in the writing and in the just performers, you know, approach to the character.
And I know, like even the little thing with the couple in the laundromat and they're just like having the coffee together.
And even that, like they paid that off.
They didn't even have to pay that off.
But he does get an actual good cup of coffee.
And Neely, like, I think that's an interesting moment because, too, it's a nice balance, a counterweight to what.
reacher presents because like we know reacher can take guys out if he has to but the thing that's cool is
that he is so sort of approachable and friendly and good natured and neely comes across that way more
apparently she's more outwardly like fun you want to hang out with her but it's like a good
anti-hero moment for a character like that to to have her basically go like look you know your
goodwill with me has run out because you took this job to come kill me if you wanted it's like
i could understand why anyone would call the ambulance right away and i also understand why they
wouldn't call
Andy Bieless right away
and the way
that scene is played
and then
you know
it's like you have
a cool
tension scene like that
you know
that's all sort of
about watching her
you know
get the information
and then you have
a completely
physical tension
scene later on
with the whole
you know
scene in the
kitchen and the roulette
and all that stuff
and yeah
like this this felt
like a powder cake
going off
and all the stuff
on the boat
the stuff with
Harley
like you know
the little
character detail
are nice things to have them pay attention to it.
And it seems like give their actors room to create as well as, you know,
what I'm sure has been very well mapped out by the books and, you know, the scripts and whatever else.
Like it feels methodical the way a crime mystery show needs to.
But yeah, it does have that flavor.
And while I do agree, like the Roscoe dynamic is sort of missing or the potency of what the potential for that relationship was
and how much their story together was shared in a way.
Like, it is Reacher, but I very much think of the two of them in that season and Finley, too.
But, you know, yeah, whereas the romance side of the last two has made sense.
And in this one, I think especially it's the slightest,
but it makes sense as to how and why it has been the way that it is.
So not every season has to have it.
I like, but yeah, I like it's, it is, I'm curious how that will progress.
in future seasons.
There's at least a season for coming.
And part of me is like, well, every season you would have like some opportunity for a romance.
But they can't all be the same and it can't feel like, oh, it's just another richer
Roman.
So I like that they're all different.
But it is something that made that first season like absolutely as special as it was,
was you also had this unexpected and very endearing, intimate element of that romance.
But I love the, you got different dynamics, though, this time around.
like there's a very specific dynamic in the first season of the ensemble every season is an ensemble and the first season ensemble is they are small town cops yeah you know who are now in something way bigger than a small town problem yeah true these are like d a agent but the scene in the kitchen uh the roulette scene like all four of those characters even polly to you know it's strange like he's not really much of a character other than a big dude yeah but the four of them in that scene and that scene like
like wow i don't want to see this kid die i don't even want to see the dad die like i don't want to see either
the maimed yeah yeah it's you do care still and feel bad for them and um i even like but i do
like the way they handle the sexuality with like what you said with the opening scene when she pulls
away but then to end it where you know reacher's like attracted to her by how violent she's getting
and she's not into it you know he's he's like flirting with you know he's like flirting with
with her yeah but i really felt like she wasn't flirting back at all yeah though he was saying stuff
it's like dude the the the girl they're looking for is the Teresa is not there at the boat that's
hoping to find her there yeah and uh he's like she's like how can you do this what does that mean like
it doesn't feel like fun flirty at all and i'm like oh i like the the book end flipperoo of that
like she comes on to him and then now he's coming on to her but she's just not having it
um because of the the heat of the moment and even kind of calls him out i'm like he's kind of a psycho
so yeah you get to see the nuance of like yeah how their worlds overlap and how they don't how they're very different like there are things about each of their experiences that would make them uniquely compatible and also things about each of their perspectives that would make them perhaps not yeah and i think too it's it struck me in this episode i think it was really cool having robert patrick in the last season but the thing about that to me was that it was like oh this is the exact kind of thing i was expecting from like a villain where you got robert patrick
And like he's good, but I think what was cool of them to do here is to set it up like, oh, Anthony Michael Hall is going to be the that guy of this season.
And there are times where he is antagonistic to a degree, but to have him be this sort of like initial first impression face of the antagonists of the organization, the crime, and then to give it over to this guy who's playing McCabe, Quinn, et cetera.
And the way that that you're literally watching, you know, this guy who is a bit of a criminal.
who is in this world, but definitely not to the same degree.
You know, they're good at amplifying Quinn and also using their dual presence as sort of like
you did get that casting, you know, type for the villain, but not in the same way you would
expect, or at least in the antagonist camp, because, you know, there's always odds and stakes
leveraged off of Beck and then, yeah, to watch him in different positions be more of the
boss, more of the snapper.
to go to complete submission
at times
like it's an interest
it's a way to make that
character
that function
interesting
in a way that feels real
and kind of fresh
it's not you know
like Quinn McCabe
is the big bad
but it's also this organization
and it is like
kind of the two of them
are clustered at the top
because he is like absorbed Beck's life
and yeah
I just appreciate
there yeah just like
lots of interesting
little thumbprints and nuances and like interesting ways they chose to do something that is very
of a type of thing like you know yeah like military crime mysteries you know there are tons of these
and yet like these are the flavors i guess that make the season so rewarding the show so rewarding
yeah it's all good stuff um all around man this was a was a really impressive stuff and
michael meyers in the woods yeah another great um action moment i feel like every season you get at
least one part of like reach or hunting like that's kind of like something you got to do every
season the way out the original dirt devil was like you know a hallway fight and every like
I remember the first season when he does like army up his look and then the second one with the
I think it was like the dump truck of car what was those called or the garbage lot uh car lot oh
like junkyard like junkyard yeah um where he was michael meyers doing it and then oh yeah
between all the trucks and stuff yeah now it's this see this one but but it's back with like such a
crazy hunt intensity you know um yeah i love it a lot i can't wait for the fight with polly as well
it's gonna be really cool it's good shit uh thank you guys so much for being here and um for those
who are watching us seriously this is really happy to be sharing this uh honest journey with you guys
appreciate you all see you guys soon
Marco Tunstil.
Marco.
My man, dude.
You got a heck of a smile.
You do.
That's what we've decided.
What were you going to say?
I don't know.
That's just a straight compliment.
I was going to say, you got a heck of a reacher, but let's go.
You do have a heck of a reacher and a smile.
You could grab something for someone and make their day a whole lot better in the process.
This is a one-two punch for you.
Well, I think we've concluded.
And he is all of them.
We've tattooed to make it our life.
It's not easier.
Oh, sure.
The ultimate benefit.
Gotcha.
Reacher, no, no.
Let's let him have reach.
We can have him reach.
We can have him reach.
We can have a reacher.
I mean, I don't know if you watch a reacher, but what it's about is a guy who likes to go for things high on the shelf.
That's right.
He's got the reacher, reacher.
He's got the re.
It's an ongoing joke.
Last of three seasons.
And it gets better every season.
I ordered mine.
And Marco Tunstill, my man, he's a hell of a...
He can reach anywhere.
He can reach in small corners.
He can reach little holes.
He could reach under things, over top of things.
Over around, behind.
He can reach for stuff outside, inside.
He is able to reach through a wall.
Wow.
Like Shadow Cat in the X-Men movies.
Like vibrate yourself so fast that you can just do that wall.
Yeah.
Like Barry Tim Allen.
Like Barry Tim Allen.
He's able to go through it.
It's incredible.
It's a masterful skill.
Yeah.
Guy can reach anywhere.
He can reach everything.
And Marco, dude, I need you to reach somewhere for me.
Oh.
Higher.
Higher.
I need you to reach higher in life because you are holding yourself back.
You might be able to physically reach, but you need to reach more internally so that way you can manifest stuff on a grander level.
Become invincible in the process.
you're not only smiling
you're not really
returning you're all so
invincible and you're higher learning
because you said he's going to reach higher
on this holy Thursday
you're all the Thursday today
baby thank you so much
for being you
who video
does that actually go on
