This has been a phenomenal episode of Reacher. television some of the best they've ever done i don't want to jump the gun a little too soon and

Starting point is 00:00:37 say that this is i would uh say this probably the most exciting seasons so far i think if i don't it's really hard to like beat season one by a lot just because of mood and you know freshness and all that but in terms of what they've been doing here it is just non-stop thrills and stakes appiling upon stakes and problems and problems and physical conflicts. I feel like and then the mystery gets more interesting and less information. Like the information becomes like more compelling and less just information. I've been finding this to be really, really good of some of the best action I've ever seen on television. And I've seen a lot of action on television.

Starting point is 00:01:19 This is some of the best I've ever seen. I don't mean in terms of like hand-to-hand choreography, just in terms of like staging and consequences. And holy shit, we got to like keep recalibrating. And every time you think that they're done, it's not. And I love how what's this is a domino effect of action. It's really, really good. What do you think, John? No, I would agree.

Starting point is 00:01:38 I mean, that's especially in an episode like this. I mean, the show, it's been really fun this season. I feel like the just the amount of players they have in the game without feeling too much, like, specifically a John Wick thing. It just feels like, oh, man, everyone is sort of like trying to zero in on, you know, Jack and Company. And so yeah, that makes for, I remember when we watched the first episode and it ended and I was like, oh my God, like this is rocketing by in a good way in a way where you're just breathless. And that was the word that kept coming to me for this episode because this episode especially, you know, it's like we've had a lot of the revelations and especially with the reveal from the end of last episode. Like part of me expects that there will be more twists and triple double quadruple crosses and stuff.

Starting point is 00:02:22 And so it's had like a nice dizzying amount of like, you know, players in the more intellectual side of like what's actually going on here. But yeah, like this episode in particular, you know, as we hinge toward the later act of the season was just, yeah, so fun and bone crunching. And that ear thing was disgusting and was like personal and icky in a way that this show occasionally goes for just to remind you of how kind of harsh some of this stuff can be while it's also having fun with it. So yeah, this was a great. I mean, this was, you know, it's like as a standalone. own episode. It's not the most revelatory necessarily, but just for, yeah, like being another link in the chain of the progress of the action of the season. This was so much fun. I just ordered

Starting point is 00:04:34 supporting our show and for supporting my lifestyle i also think it's some it might be the best villains they've ever done these two ladies are so scary you know like every see if i look back on the other seasons i can't recall being fully finding finding any of the villains like actually scary you know they've been in precarious situations where okay this guy seems like he could be a good threat he fights the giant guy in the final season polly but this is the one where these women will they're a unstoppable force they will just annihilate anyone who gets in their way and uh like they even and kind of paint them a little bit like slasher killer when they kill that one guy with the car it's very like devil's rejects like just doesn't matter like we're going to give

Starting point is 00:05:23 you this enough exposition to know that this guy's a day going to go see his daughter after she's got her tonsils removed and now they're just going to kill them mercilessly so when the blade is pushed up against homeboy at the end it it is like yeah they they can very well just kill them right now and they would and I believe they could and I believe the show would let it happened if they wanted it to. So I think they've done a really great job done just with elevating the action. I think the supporting cast is probably the best overall ensemble since the first season, I would say.

Starting point is 00:05:55 Because I kind of associate season three with like Reacher and Duffy. But it really feels like a very much isolated Reacher adventure in many ways. Two has the ensemble. And then, yeah, this is probably the best ensemble. Because when they were in the action scene at the beginning without Reacher, I was like, oh, shit, I'm really, I'm like, they could. one of them could die right now. Yeah, and this had a nice, I think, balance of, like, the first half you have Reacher,

Starting point is 00:06:19 yeah, is just in the cell. So it kind of hands the spotlight over to the ensemble for a bit. And then when they all get back together, it's, you know, satisfying again to have it back in the action and everything. And I mean, too, like, yeah, they are very sinister and they do have just like, now they're just like their own little duo paramilitary unit. And, you know, after seducing Reacher and, you know, clearly they're good at the espionage part to. so I am curious to see how the season will tie together because now, at least in this episode,

Starting point is 00:06:48 they're just like, you know, cold, scary killing machines. So, you know, with the mystery of the picture and the scientist and stuff still to come. Like, I'm curious if that's going to be the mode they stay in until the end or if there's going to be any more, you know, reveals and layers to those characters. Oh, sure. Or if you take off the human layer and now we're just in killer mode.

Starting point is 00:07:08 Yeah, that's a good point. Well, great episode of Reacher. The season's been pretty amazing. and I hope more people end up why. I think they started promoting this show way too late. And I hope people are coming back to discover that this is one of the best seasons they've done. And I think Alan Richson might have been not just saying a marketing producer thing. This very well could end up being the best season they've ever done.
