Greg Alba & Aaron Alexander dive into Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One (2018), the visually explosive adaptation of Ernest Cline’s bestselling sci-fi novel. Set in the dystopian year 2045, the story follows Wade Watts / Parzival (Tye Sheridan, X-Men: Apocalypse, Mud), a teenager escaping his bleak reality by immersing himself in the OASIS — a sprawling virtual reality universe where people can be anyone and do anything. When OASIS creator James Halliday (Mark Rylance, Bridge of Spies, Dunkirk) dies, he leaves behind a contest: whoever finds his hidden Easter Egg inherits his fortune and control of the OASIS. Joining Wade are Olivia Cooke (Thoroughbreds, House of the Dragon) as Art3mis/Samantha, Lena Waithe (Master of None, Westworld) as Aech/Helen, Win Morisaki as Daito, and Philip Zhao as Sho. Opposing them is corporate villain Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Dark Knight Rises), who will stop at nothing to seize control of the OASIS. The film also features Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Mission: Impossible series) as Halliday’s partner Ogden Morrow. Spielberg fills Ready Player One with jaw-dropping references and famous pop culture moments — from the epic The Shining hotel sequence, to the giant Mechagodzilla vs. Iron Giant battle, to iconic cameos like the DeLorean from Back to the Future and countless video game and movie Easter eggs. With dazzling visuals, a nostalgic soundtrack, and a thrilling commentary on escapism and corporate control, Ready Player One delivers a fan-favorite blend of action, adventure, and geek culture celebration. It started with a scream inside a quiet Maryland home, a mother trying to protect the family dog
and her son in the grip of a violent hallucinogenic rage.
By the time it was over, she was dead, and he claimed LSD made him do it.

Thanks, prep for writing to have these highlights through a short review, I guess,
since we talked plenty throughout the movie.
Aaron?
I thought it was fun.
I had some flaws for sure.
Some stuff was a little lacking on the side of, you know, exploring what this reality was as far as how it affected people.
It didn't really seem like the story had an interest in that, even though that's what it established itself as.
some stuff was a little convenient
underdeveloped overall
you know the member berries the journey itself
and uncovering
the creator's
you know intentions
was it was a good journey
it was fun overall but
yeah
not a perfect film but
enjoyable I'd say
well what you man
I mean it's pretty clear how I was feeling
during the
I think I've made a very obvious story.
It's a fun, yes.
I mean, it's a fun movie.
If you show up just for like the fun of like, you know, being like, hey, I know that.
And, you know, there's like some great, there's some great visuals and some great action in there.
And, you know, all things being said, the, the main characters are reasonably likable.
And, you know, it's, if it sets out to just be.
Simply entertaining with a little bit of heart here and there, drizzled in.
It just, I couldn't help but feel the potential of a deeper story that seemed like it was wanting to peek through most of it.
And instead they were like, no, this is making fun.
Let's just keep having fun.
And then even with like characters, like those two Asian guys at the end, the way they come in, you're like,
I feel like these were supposed to be bigger reveals and, you know,
this hyper cliche corporate bad guys.
I felt like the real world was really missing a personality.
And, yeah, I was like, I need something to care for here.
I don't even really, I was here going like, yeah, the oasis, go save it.
Because of reasons.
Never felt like swept up in.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I never felt like I was wanting to.
you know i was like hardcore rooting or cheering and the saving grace of the movie is a lot of the
visuals and of course like the references to the different video games and the action scenes like
that's the real star of this movie or the action scenes i think the best performances are
michael rylins and olivia cook um tie sheridan i think so reasonably all right lead um you know
yeah i give it like a 70 percent 75
percent around there i'd say 70 percent yeah solid thumbs up yeah i would be it would be a fresh rotten
tomato theme not glowing for me but reasonable reasonably good it's an entertaining time it's
at the end of the day as long as you're not boring that's all i really give a shit about and there's
nothing like egregiously bad or really offensive about it in any way so i like nothing that
it just didn't provoke any strong feelings for a film
that is so trying to be like hyperstimuli, you know.
I wonder if fans of the book were satisfied with this.
I highly doubt.
We wouldn't know.
What did they just read?
Like, then the Ninja Turtles were there and Freddie Kruger was there and Harley Kuhn was there.
And then it went into the show.
Come on.
You know the book.
I'd have much more meaning.
Oh, for sure.
Like, hey, who knows?
Maybe one day they'll adapt it into a series or something, like a mini series.
That would be much cooler, yeah.
Yeah, because like it does have the opportunity to be a commentary on like corporate manipulation of the real world of how they're using these artificial forms of connection.
But then also finding like with the mute merit in that and having a debate about the good and the bad of having this type of connection.
Like there are pros and cons to it.
But it does just become about find the egg.
You know, get the Easter egg.
Yeah.
We're just on a good thing.
We're just on a video game.
We're just on a video game adventure.
That's what it's really about.
And then they try to, like, hammer it home with a message about altruism and spending more time in the real world.
I'm like, you gave me nothing to care about in the real world.
They never fought for the argument of why anyone would want to spend more time outside of the video game.
Yeah.
The ending feels like a little bit of a, I guess, over-simple solution.
Like, yeah, we'll just shut it down for a couple days, you know, get people activated to the real world.
But you guys, the other seven, five days, you guys can play.
You guys get weekends off, your equivalent of a weekend off the game.
On a random Tuesday and Thursday.
Yep.
The days you guys dread the most in this world is because you're forced to take them off.
It just seems like you want to do those days like back to back instead.
It's like an inconvenient time.
Yeah, I just kind of wish, I wish that a little bit more meat.
But I don't feel like most people showed up for that.
Anyway, normally we don't do questions for these commentary videos.
but a post went out to our patrons
and I'd feel like it's messed up
if we didn't answer these questions.
So let's go into it.
Andrew Nickerson.
All right.
I love the book and realized
that when they made a movie
that they would change things
due to copyright.
The biggest change for me
was instead of the shining,
the book had the characters reenactment
the movie War Games,
Black Mirror style.
What classic movie would each of you
choose to visit virtually?
Oh man, I would love to go into the Harry Potter.
movies. Yeah, that would be really cool. I wouldn't want to do a horror movie. That sounds
like a terrible time. But yeah, the Harry Potter world? Why not? I don't know.
I said, Warner Brothers owns Harry Potter. I'm surprised. There's like none of that in here.
Yeah, maybe there were. It was just in the background somewhere. I think we would have
seen it, man. He should have Harry zipping around and his like nimbus, whatever. And that'd be so
cool. You know, Voldemort shows up if I can fight some mega Godzilla.
Or why wouldn't they include it in Harry Potter? They don't know. Maybe Spielberg hates Harry
broader you know yeah but um i'd probably pick some like avatar this seems like it'd be really cool
very naturey get to swing from trees and stuff be a navi just a fun just a different virtual
world yeah more less yeah different digital world yeah man i can connect braids with somebody that'd be
fun that's a weird experience yeah that's fun that's fun those are another one oh my god
la pico i haven't seen your name in forever if this world was our reality
not too far off, do you think
you would find yourself in Oasis a lot
and what would your avatars be if you were to take
part in it? It would just be me
with a big bulge. Yeah.
And
some days I'm curly hair and some days I'm bald.
It would be you in the
Marriott for breakfast.
I would just create a hotel of breakfast food.
Yeah, it'd probably
be in the Oasis a lot.
The Oasis seems really cool.
Yeah. Maybe. If our world's as bad as their world, probably. Because, like, yeah, this world sucks. But I don't know. It's super, it's super, what's it called? Immersive. So I feel like there will be a lot of stuff to explore there. But I don't know. I feel like there's a lot of downside. I would have to, like, find a way to pace myself out being in a world like that. But, yeah, I would want to spend time there. And what would my avatar be if I'd have to.
take part in it
I don't know
I'll probably be a
superhero or something
I want to feel
what it's like
to be Spider-Man
be Superman
yeah
like
like David cornswet
or
or black Superman
David
black sweat
yeah
yeah
she'd
David cornswit and black
face
yeah
I'm sure what I would do
just shave my head
David cornswet with
cornrows
you see like asking
this question of like
would you be in it a lot
I'm like
man
that's such a part of the movie that I wish they dealt with of like are there psychological
repercussions to this you know like are there people who are anti oasis out there because of the
escapism of the of it you know like I get it they wanted it's about video games so they made
like it's about video games it seems like it's more about honoring movies than about doing video
games and the it so they made a video game adventure like I understand that but it seemed like there
was so much more room to explore something way more interesting than plot movie, you know.
It had a lot of effect on people's lives.
And yeah, people were literally going to take themselves out because they couldn't win in the game.
Or like, that seems like a very deadly thing for society.
Yeah.
Tying your success to a video game to your profits and success in real life.
Like, it's a very slippery slope.
Yeah, it's like I felt like the movie just had zero conversation about anything.
And I think it just really missed an opportunity.
there. And I feel like the book, I don't know if
the book has that conversation. I just feel
like if it's a book, they must go a little bit deeper.
Nike Penaunt,
you've just won the Easter egg confidence that
of inheriting Halliday's fortune in the Oasis.
You're given the power to change one single
rule of the Oasis.
What rule do you change and why?
As a big gamer, I'm lowering
the price of some of those in-app purchases
and remove some ads.
The one rule to change.
I probably
rather than taking individual
days off the map entirely. I'd probably
limit the amount of hours you can be on
per day. That way
you can still get your escape at some time
but also engage with the real world.
I'd like that'd be a fair compromise.
I wouldn't want
some age restrictions. That's probably
smart. Like I wouldn't want like a five year old
like what if I'm like beating the shit
out of like 11 year old boy and I'm like
oh damn I didn't know you're 11 year old boy
cussing you out this whole time
you know? Right.
Like an age group pooling and like
restricted access for those type of things
that's probably smart like I don't want an 11 year old boy
I walk it into making out with the freaking
old lady from the shot
stowed by her
I want some
I want some parameter
I'm the opposite of whatever this freedom
choice is I'm like I look out for the youth
I'd be very concerned about the youth
right now
that's very valid yeah I wouldn't
I'd probably agree with that
but yeah also go outside please
we need some balance as well
Age restricting and balance.
The movie seemed way more pro-stain
Oasis as long as possible.
And then at the end they're like,
you should be in the real world more often.
I don't know if this movie at all
was telling me to do that.
Why would I?
You know, great this place?
Yeah.
And it seemed like there was all these worlds
in the oasis that you could go to,
but they stayed in this like one city,
this one section and sometimes went to like
ice place in volcano land.
But, you know, like at the big,
getting like Minecraft world and Batman and Gotham and so maybe you go to all these different you could go to like an avatar world but they were kind of limited on where they went they went to like a club I feel like if it was a longer form series you'd be able to explore the different world within this world but yeah because we have confined to two and a half hours we have to stay within whatever the racing area and the little areas we have yeah yeah all right mark leech hi guys I hope you're both doing well Spielberg came out and said they tried to limit
having much of his own work in the film.
Even cutting out the Holy Grail diary from The Last Crusade, which is something Wade carries
around in the books.
No way, really.
So instead he decided to shit all over the shining.
My question is, is there something from a Spielberg film that you feel could have fit
perfectly into the film?
That's exactly what I was going to say.
I was thinking the tripods or more of the worlds could have been interesting.
Oh, that would have been dope.
Tripods are more of the world.
No E.T.
There's no E.T. would have been great.
I think E.T. would have been a weird thing to throw in as a fighter.
With jaws in the air, he was to fight a shark.
Yeah, just flopping around.
I'm like, you're just there in the ice.
He's just there in the eyes and I come out.
Eat somewhere where we could do the jaws poster.
That would be cool.
Yeah, that would have been sweet.
He's done like a billion movies.
He could have Tom Hanks from Saving Private Ryan show up.
You know Tom Hanks and Termin.
all show up he could have austere schindler
black and white
Abraham Lincoln show up I should have bought more
coins um
he could have had uh
what else this city he's done
no forest show up
who forest gum oh forest gum
forest gum running through would have been hilarious
that would have been so funny
oh the holy grail diary would have been pretty cool um
Indiana Jones would have been awesome actually
yeah anything
Indiana Jones would have been done
But, yeah, someone with an Enyetta Joneskin would work.
That would have been sweet.
Yeah, I guess those are our choices.
All right, here we go.
Kev B, what did Ready Player 1 make you think about
when it comes to escaping into virtual worlds?
Did Wade's journey make you reconsider how we balance living in fantasy
versus facing the real world?
Wade's journey made me think that this movie should have done this question.
is what makes you think about what it comes to escaping in a virtual world i mean i have like a lot of
thoughts about that but i mean we've kind of been talking about that a little bit here you know a
lot of the conversation yeah yeah um didn't pre-re i mean do you have any more to elaborate on to that
we should have reserved any of our thoughts for these questions um yeah i don't know i feel i feel like
there definitely should be some balance and yeah maybe some people should be allowed to
to stay in the world longer than others for the safety of other people in the world.
Yeah.
And, yeah, I don't know.
That's probably we covered a lot of it.
So I feel pretty satisfied.
Yeah, yeah.
Captain Fernandez.
Okay, let's do another one here.
If the Oasis were real, what would your avatar look like?
Okay, if I were to do a second avatar pick.
Ooh, I would want to be the predator.
I'd be the spider from Wild Wild West, the big mechanical spider.
Yeah, that'd be fun.
I just want to be.
i don't know i want to be a
cliche when you said spider man
i'm like that'd be probably the coolest thing to be
right just fucking be spider man
dude i wouldn't you want to be spider man
or when i went to new yorka back in 2021
i just imagine like oh my god
this is what i played as
yeah i would love to swing through these buildings so
i would love yeah when you're actually like in new york
like in buildings at the highs you're like
this would be terrified of spider me
oh my god right
my god crash and burn so easily
this is really terrifying actually
But, yeah, I think me and Spider-Man would be cool.
Superman, so I could just zip around the oasis would be cool.
I mean, those are like the perfect picks.
I'm surprised Superman wasn't in her.
Pierre the Reject.
What is your all-favorite film?
I think you reacted to my favorite one, Minority Report.
Yeah.
That movie was dope.
Minority Report was awesome.
That's a great science fiction world, Steven Spielberg movie.
Yeah.
Gotta put those in there, yeah.
That's an actual, like, fully sci-fi.
inhabited Spilber movie
that has a lot to say, and it's an
adaptation of a book. Yeah,
you could have had Tom Cruise
and Forge Grump running, racing each other.
That would have been excellent. Yeah, but
I really love saving private Ryan.
The movie was great. Oh, wow, great.
Wow, really? I know, so original.
Really? Really? Wow. Wow.
Whoa, next to second would be Jurassic Park.
Oh, my second's actually terminal.
I really, I really like...
Oh, you actually genuinely really like the terminal?
Yeah, I watched it on a plane. I'm like, this movie's great.
It's a perfect plane movie
It's like me plane movie
You know what?
Yeah
I was thoroughly surprised
And I was very invested
It's such an airport promotion movie
Like you don't want to watch a plane movie on the plane
Did terrible things happen to planes and plane movies
But a terminal makes you feel safe
It does
I feel very safe
And I cared about him a lot in that movie
You walk out of the terminal
And I go to baggage claim
You're like
I'm like that guy in that movie I watch
It's pretty
cool i made it i can go into the city i don't have to be stuck in the airport but yeah i'm living his
life yeah yeah man good pick good tick all right reject nation time to put the real in real rejects um
when people ask what we do on youtube i like to say we share our emotional connection to movies and
shows through reactions and reviews and i like to phrase it that way not just because it's a catchy
answer. I mean, it does sound kind of cool, but it's actually because what we really believe in here, something we really value. That thing we value being being in touch with your feelings. That matters so much to us. And I think a big part of that foundation comes from the fact that many of us rejects here have spent many a year in therapy. And we completely understand that a time therapy cannot be the most cost effective. And that's why we do recommend today's sponsor, a sponsor who we have one person here who does go through them and another person here who started off with them. And that is best.
better help. See, many of you guys might have already heard me talk about this before. I
do come from a background of domestic violence. Coming the adult that I am today did not happen
by accident. I had to be very intentional about unlearning old patterns, actively reshaping
how I show up in the world. I guess the most basic summation, since I'm talking to you via through
this, any success that you see me as today in any fashion, if you see me at all like that,
externally all started first internally through many years of chisling away, i.e. therapy.
Better help makes getting started with therapy easier.
Fill out a questionnaire and you get match with a licensed therapist in as little as few days.
It's important to find the right fit.
I had to go through a couple before I found the right fit for me.
And what's awesome is if you don't find the right fit at first, you can switch anytime at no extra cost.
I did not have such a privilege when I first started out on this journey.

Beast Games contestant number five.
Hey, I wonder if that's real.
I don't know if you guys read the books
Definitely not
But it's a lot darker than the movie version
See
What does that that mean?
Steven Spielberg trying to lighten it up
We gotta bring it back down
Make a sadder
Like one of the kids actually gets killed
I would have loved that
Oh come on
Kill these kids
Killed them all
Not having seen the movie
Now haven't seen the movie
Do you think a different director
Would have been better
Do you like the direction
The Spilberg one
It didn't feel
Like Spielberg has a lot of versatility
Like, we listed, like,
saving private Ryan and Terminal and Minority Report,
none of those feel like the same movie.
Very different styles.
But there's something that feels like Steven Spielberg about them still.
Even Jurassic Park that, like, wonder behind it, you know?
And this did feel like,
I don't know if he actually directed this film, you know?
It feels like the ADHD version of that wonder.
Because there's just a lot.
Kind of, yeah.
And rather than letting you live and soak into the characters and like the stuff that you're watching,
it's just all happening really fast until the next time it's on screen.
And because it's so overstimulating with all the stuff that's happening,
it makes the real world feel dull in comparison with a combination of it not really exploring
these more interesting themes about how our relationship to technology and how we spend our time.
Yeah, well, the oasis action scenes feel straight up like, um,
video game art director did it and i'm like i don't know if spilberg actually directed these scenes
probably his most cg i heavy movie yeah it's like the completely digital world was like i get
the sense cameron actually directs those those avatar movies right whereas no i'm like this
feels like some other guy to that's just the impression i get like it doesn't actually feel the real
world's scenes have the cinematography of a lot of spillberg movies but there is kind of like a missing
personality like it it felt a little bit very surface level even its heart didn't feel like
it was like kind of felt like i felt like i felt the heart i felt it especially in the last like 10
minutes but there's something about the heart that didn't feel like weirdly it felt like an
artificial heart that i was enjoying you know um so yeah there was something like off about it to me
i don't know maybe i'm just older we're cynical now what's too many movies
If there were awesome Joe
If there was a place
Created for us like the Oasis
What Avatar would you like to create for yourselves to be?
I'd love to be Tom Cruise
Just Up as Batman welding a lightsaber
Wow
That's very fun
I was how most of these questions are not about the actual movie
Yeah
It's how press jokes work for movies people don't like
Yeah
Like we got so many questions
And 90% of them are like
Nothing to do in the actual movie
They're just like
Hey if the Oasis existed
what avatar would you like to give yourselves to be i mean yeah this we've had a lot of these
avatar questions yeah okay okay all right option three let's go baby um i would love to be um
uh who would be a good one who would be a unique one to be here oh bad man i would love to be
just bad man i just want to be a competent character yeah oh i'd be plastic man
Poussinian seems like it'd be fun.
I'd be an invisible woman, so I could, you know, just see what everyone else is doing all the time.
Yeah, I'm just trying to spy on them.
You have to keep your breath down, though.
I just can't.
Because people can't hear you breathe if you're invisible.
Just got to, like, not breathe.
The rules were confusing, too, because it's like, you know when the bad guy, he has like, wait a minute, this is in my world.
He can't, he can't, like, feel the glasses?
What do you mean?
The glasses on his head.
Yeah.
That's how he like lifts them up.
So couldn't he like detect like, oh, this is not.
Oh, the sensation.
You'd be able to feel the sensation.
He was locked in.
He was immersive.
They make it feel immersive.
But Homeboy at the end was like going,
hold on, Mark Rylens.
I need to go roundhouse kick this person.
Boop.
You know.
Steve's football doesn't want you to think about.
He's hearing all the guys died, you know.
Rules were inconsistent.
They were.
Allie.
Was there.
reference you didn't recognize that now you're
curious to know more about. Yeah,
the Buccaroo Bonsai. I didn't understand that
at all. That was
one. I guess a
few. I didn't
know what that video game was at the end that he was
playing. That he won. Adventure.
Yeah, adventure. Never heard of that game
before. Looks like the most stimulating
experience.
Yeah.
There's just a lot of visually
dense stuff. I don't know.
Dude, there was like so many things I was looking at them.
I'm like, I don't even know if that's a reference.
It's like, I don't even know if this is a character for something, you know?
Yeah.
Are you supposed to, yeah, delineate between what, like, member bears and what's just visuals on the screen?
What's in the Matrix and what's in the real world?
Allie, as a pop culture nerd who loves Spielberg, I was very excited when he made a movie from one of my favorite books.
I squealed at every nostalgic reference from my childhood.
Which reference was your favorite?
I have a feeling people are going to hate me in this video.
um this everyone seems very enthusiastic about it a favorite reference
uh i mean the mecca godzilla i don't know if it's a reference but the meca
godzilla and god's uh and uh gundom fight was pretty awesome
although the car the delorean and kong was actually my favorite that that was that was so
thrilling i'd watch that scene over and over again that whole that whole chase that was a
brilliant chase the michael bay ninja turtles hell yeah we watched those together
We did.
Those are the turtles you want in there.
Yep.
The exact version.
Yeah.
A better version.
There was someone in the Oasis who was like, those are my turtles.
Yep.
Those.
Like those big turtle lips.
Like that.
Yeah.
They have as cool.
Yeah.
But I don't know.
I think it was cool to see the, it was cool to see the back girl in there.
Obviously, Iron Giant was great.
Yeah.
I think they have, those are speed racer in there?
I don't know.
There's a lot of stuff.
Hello Kitty and her friend
I don't remember seeing that the first time
Girl loves Hello Kitty and stuff
So yeah I would say those are all
All the things that I liked
I like oh Adam West Batmobile
That was pretty cool to see
And the way to reveal that was pretty awesome too
Yeah
I really did like how they made the T-Rex
And Mecca Godzilla and Kong feel big and scale
And massive
Especially how they handled Kong was really awesome to me
Yeah
Because like with those they feel like
the character like Kong especially feels like
the character Kong is there
whereas everyone else is kind of just wearing the
skin but they're not the actual characters
yeah you know it's literally just
the avatar but yeah if they had the personality
it would be like oh this is tough it's more impactful
yeah if it's the character actually in there
that that that was that's I think it's maybe how
they can get away with all these things even with licensing
is like oh they're just they're not the actual
character they're just look like them
um whereas like Kong
it seems like it was a character built in
to be exactly Kong and that's why I think
that's why I think that one works like
really cool to me.
I wish Iron Giant felt like Iron Giant
but it was still cool to see him.
Yeah, yeah, he's a big.
Jaden Rhodes, being a big gamer
in my teen years, this movie felt like it was made for me.
Happy to hear that. But the
one thing that disappointments that I've rewatched
this movie three or four times since it came out and every
time I come out, this movie, it feels like a slog.
Oh my God. So it finally doesn't
make me feel alone here. I think
I landed on the reason. We need it's about 15
to 20 minutes too long and drive.
in the same act do you all have the same issue with this movie yes it felt a little too long for me yeah
yeah i mean i really didn't feel like it felt like two hours and 20 minutes and it didn't feel like
it was that long but it certainly does feel like there's stuff that they're the movie's not
interested in exploring but they feel like they have to have these beats in there and so they're
they do it with the most i feel like the filmmakers behind it were uninterested in doing a lot of scenes
but they had to do them.
I felt like maybe it wasn't too long.
I think it was some of the beats that they wanted to hit felt a little rushed
and other stuff they wanted to touch on felt a little too long.
So it felt disproportient.
Yeah.
So if we had more time to develop some of these relationships,
I feel like what had made it feel like a more balanced experience
because it doesn't feel balance, it feels longer.
Because like, yeah, when he said, I love you, I'm like, damn, we just like just met this chick like 10 minutes ago.
So it didn't feel earned.
and then obviously the stuff with the family
happened really quickly
you saw us commenting we didn't really feel emotionally
yeah we had a shit about it yeah yeah we had one scene of her
and one scene she was awful she's awful
they're both awful so
yeah I feel like there was more to let this breathe
it would feel more balance and I think
it's feeling more balanced in turn makes it not feel as long
yeah this movie had to seem like it sacrificed a lot
for runtime but the movie that was already
like reasonably long so yeah I'm there with you man
Michael withina Katheria.
Hey, guys, I was a gamer.
This movie makes me so happy with all that game references and cameos in the background.
Glad it works.
There's enough to overwhelm.
This movie takes on themes of escapism that I use your videos for.
Thank you.
What is your favorite form in escapism?
What would you like to go to in the online universe of Ready Player 1?
We have explored that letter part question kind of a bit.
Favorite form of escapism in real life?
um as weird as it sounds
television honestly like i i've been watching i was talking about erin earlier
i've been watching last man on earth and uh escaping into that has been just
like a great way to change my state around especially when i can sometimes come home very stressed
and uh that that has been like a great like i've been loving that uh yeah that'll probably
be my favorite way uh to do it yeah i would honestly say the same by the things i've been watching at
home. Well, one, obviously, social
media, but that's a whole other can of
worms. That's a slippery slope to where this
movie heads. But I think
that, again, I know that my
favorite things I've been watching as of recently
have been Dexter
on my own time. I'm finally getting that for the first time.
And
being Andrew watched an episode
of the show, Barry, every night.
Oh, yeah. It's our nightly ritual
until we finish the season. So
that's what's been happening in my life lately.
Have you seen Eddington?
I think 10? Yeah, I did
Did you like it? I did
I loved it
I think it's my favorite movie the year
Really? Yeah
Oh yeah
I think about it
Every day
Since I randomly put it on two weeks
I randomly bought it
Because I was like
I'm just gonna put something on to pass the time
That I wasn't even planning on finishing it
That's why I bought it
Because I was like I'll just like cut it in half
And I was like
I thought about it every single day since
Wow
It's the only movie this year
There's other movies I watched
And I was like I'm gonna think about this all the time
And I didn't
Sinners weapons
You know
But he said for some reason, I just can't stop thinking about.
Wow, that's like, obviously I won't get into it here.
But that's like two different movies.
Like, there's a definitive point.
We're like, okay, this is another movie.
Yeah, and I love that, though.
I'm so for it.
Yeah.
That's why I love it.
It was like, this is such a strange film.
Yeah, man, it's awesome.
I don't know if people saw it.
People would want to react to that or not.
But I think it's a fun.
It's a, not, yeah.
Yeah, it's an interesting experience.
Very unique for sure.
I mean, yeah, because, like, what we do here?
You know, you're kind of in and out of awareness
that there's a camera with you, you know?
So, but at home, that's when it is like the truly immersive time for us, right?
Yeah.
That are movies, theaters.
Residence Z.
I remember being hyped for this movie because I'm a gamer,
and I neither are going to be a bunch of references to different games.
My question isn't really related to the movie,
but what are your favorite games of all time?
Hope you enjoy the movie.
I know I did.
Yeah, well, I think I'm the worst candidate for the,
Being part of this reaction experience.
Games of all time.
Last of Us 1 and 2.
Spider-Man Web of Shadows,
the Spider-Man PS4 games,
Dragon Bowsey, Budakai Tenkaiichi,
all of the Uncharted games.
Nice.
And Rocket League.
Those are my favorite games.
Hell, yeah.
Last of Us 2 is my all-time favorite game.
And I say Metal Gear Solid.
I haven't played Metal Gear Solid 3.
in probably like 15 years or something
so I don't really know if it'd still be my favorite
but for the longest time I did cite that
as my favorite game until Last of Us 2
took a spot but I'd be curious that go back
and see if Metal Gear Solid 3 would still be it
Metal Gear Solid was undoubtedly the game
that got me into games
so that franchise is
particularly special to me
you should see if they remastered it so you can play on your PS5
yeah I want to go I want to buy that
but I want to like start from the beginning
not the way beginning the way beginning is like
fucking you know systems
I don't care to like because there's like a bunch of
metal gear games then there was metal gear solid
oh yeah that's when like the game really
took off and it was like PlayStation
so I would just start from there
I wouldn't want to do those
like 16 bit games
I'm like clearly just playing this so I could finally
get to the good game
yeah
but yeah
anyway
Royal Rejects thanks for the cues much
appreciated um yeah
I was honest about how I felt
and I'm trying not to
apologize for everything in my life
so hey that's how I felt
and if
given this a 70% is not
high enough for you
deal with the honesty
Aaron
Aaron gave it a 99%
so give him all the love in the comments
I love everything. Yeah he loves everything
doesn't this any only dislikes the things
that other people dislike. See you guys
you guys
Thank you.
