thank you to hughel for sponsoring this video more on them in just a bit let's do it peeps
all right gang another gripping episode uh a bit of a mindbender too especially uh with the
circumstances colliding and the storylines that we're checking back in with too i mean i feel
like the ambessa stuff and all the you know evolution of
Victor and how that relates to
Jace's mission is a whole
is a headful. The last
episode was so emotional and so sensory
in so many ways. And this one is
certainly that, but it's also
just heavy on the big
developments. What did you think?
I would say
I agree with everything.
Your observations.
I think there's great scenes
throughout as usual.
And of course the animation, as
gorgeous as ever. And a lot of
exciting developments and some sad ones like my favorite moments are still the more emotional ones like
like the catharsis with kate and vye getting it on reuniting as lovers and going all the way in that
dirty-ass prison cell that's good going that was quite a scene is yeah it's a little bit more
um explicit than i mean it's like not that explicit it's explicit in the sense of we've never
scenes like that and they're a game joke and i was like oh they're really going there and i'm not used to it in
like american animation it's different you want yeah unless i'm like watching invincible or something
sure sure i mean it is i believe it is a french animation studio but yeah something but developed
and authored for american audiences you know yeah yeah and it's the kind of thing where it's
it feels different when you're in animation versus like oh you're in a room with the camera
you know grabbing which is what i tend to do there's well of course just just be just
like mine guys yeah i got my camera
here let's get it on let's get some angles
bust out some long lenses get some soft focus
going uh but you know
yeah in a situation like that they have to meticulously
craft every one of those angles and two i mean i think
they had some some fun i mean
it was a very sensuous moment but they did have
some fun with their creative framing out of any of the
like it's right on that line where you don't
see anything really but there's enough
there where you're like they really observed
to this lovemaking moment if i
If I had this on, like, VHS when I was four years old, I would have definitely...
Pawsing and scrubbing.
Oh, my God, the little mermaid castle is shaped like a, you know...
It's shaped like joy and wonder.
Did they spell that in the wind and line king?
You guys aren't talking about?
Easter eggs.
Anyway, yeah, I like that scene, and I like, I mean, I like the episode a lot.
I do think, and maybe this will play different on like a complete watch versus right now.
Admittedly, I am a little tired.
Stomach isn't pain, too.
And I greatly injure my knee at the gym.
I hear it to an excellent today.
You are Victor.
We need to get you in a cocoon.
There's no other time to get you like in some kind of otherworldly god form so you can fix your broken body.
There's a good order to do this.
Gotta leave town.
So I'm like, but I am wondering, I did feel that this was the first episode in season two.
where there was a
case of a bit of like, oh, because
they want to, they're wrapping up the show
that some stuff was a little
rushed.
You know, like there were parts with Mel
that I
think could have been fleshed out a little
a little bit more breathing room.
Sure. And I think
the part that actually kind
of does bum me out a little
bit is Victor
and Jace because
season one that is such a big
part of season one is their relationship and i feel like we've kind of got in a really short
film version of what really could have been a strong emotional conflict for the two of them
and the way how it's been unfolding and i i feel like they've been kind of not really
landing as strong there and so yeah it's like it's it's technically there everything is
technically there uh it is just more about like the the the
percolating, the gestating, the breathing of these things, and it does feel like a case of
we're going to wrap this up, so we got to wrap it up. And it's stuff like that as just a person
who really loves that dynamic. And yes, Mel has changed and Jace has changed. And Victor
is something else entirely. Everyone's changed. And I think there's room for great conversation
to be had. And while you've got some good conversation dialogue moments, just like
when Mel and
Jace are on the bridge
and he's like you'll never be passenger
I thought that was a really nice exchange
the exchange of Amessa and Mel
I like the nuance there of her starting off
like oh my god
daughter you're alive
bitch don't talk to me that way
you know yeah
well it's like Dan
she's the mom she's the warrior mom I love that
so yeah I think there's a lot of great
there's still great moments
It's still pretty much a great episode
I do think there's like one thing
in particular that I'm like
I kind of feel like we've been missing some of that
Thank you to Huell for sponsoring today's video
Now guys I'm going to give you all the God's honest truth
Of how this sponsorship came to be
Sponsorship came to be
We got contacted about basically partnering up with Huell
Before we agreed to anything
The very first thing I said was
I would like to try the product first
I did a Instagram post on our Real Region
X one. It was the first time you see me trying the Hewell product. Basically going, like, hey, we might not partner with them. This is not a paid Instagram post, but I just wanted to try it since a lot of you guys asked for, like, health recommendations now and the know kind of what I take only because of the fact that I'm vegetarian. I have very limited protein options. So I gave it a shot and ended up loving it. Primarily the chocolate one. Wow, this is really, this is a really great one. One of the best things about it is that, yes, it's prepackaged. And a lot of times when it comes to like the prepackaged bottles, I'm not a big fan of them normally, which he got me drinking on camera.
camera is one of these which takes a very long time to put together and can often get messy and it's just not aesthetically pleasing but i'm trying to pack like a lot of vitamins and fiber protein the best part about huel is a lot of what i try to pack into this one giant shake is already available in this little bottle often taste better than what i can actually assemble myself it actually tastes great it's got a high protein intake count as well and you know what bread new bottle if you guys can see it's filled to the top is how good it takes
Now normally what you want to do is spread it out, but if you want it in one go, it is just as good.
It tastes really freaking good.
Thank you so much response from this video.
The one thing they want me to say is this is you can get 15% off Huell today with code
rejects at Huel.com slash Rejects. Fuel your best performance with Huell today.
day they are great and i am already almost out of the many bottles they sent me if you guys do go
check them out at huel.com slash rejects you'll see they got a whole bunch more items available as
well and if they taste anything as good as this i'm going to be a very happy customer for a very
very long time so join me on this health journey these are the two plot lines that make my head
swim a little bit more and i feel like in episodes where you only have one of them
as a primary focus it's easier to balance than when you have them both as the dominant force of the
episode like all the end best of stuff with the black rose and then everything with victor and jace
like i i would agree like i feel like with victor and jace part of what i have been kind of craving
is some kind of it almost and we'll wait to see how episode nine plays out but it almost feels like
you could have added one more episode to act three so that we could have like a true
debate of some kind like a meeting of the minds between jace and victor jace is so resolved
and he is so in physical action mode
where I feel like for, like you said,
all their history, all their growth together,
the fact that they, you know, were working side by side
and in harmony for so long
and so significantly to beget these results, you know,
on both sides, it seems like it would have been nice
to pay it off with, it's, we were sitting there going,
you asked out loud, like, who do you side with?
And it is a compelling argument.
They're doing well enough that I'm like, God, I don't know.
But the show was really making, I feel like the show made the choice for us.
Yeah.
And I feel like, you know, with what Jace has seen, I mean, yes, that is certainly enough to make anybody come back and be like, we got to stop this.
But also with what they've introduced in terms of like potential alternate timelines and things.
And yeah, him being led here by this mystical figure from, you know, who we met in the first episode of the show.
Like there are questions I have that I have faith that they'll touch on, but there are also things where it does feel a little bit less, yeah, like fully.
rounded out as of now and with ambessa too like there's a good amount of mystery
there they don't give they haven't given you the full context of like you know
exactly what her involvement with the black rose has been an exactly kind of
what foot she's on in terms of the mystical side of thing yeah but you know that
that was a bit of a conversation I felt was pretty quick with the witch when
she's like getting the information I'm like oh I guess she made her decision
yeah and I have I wonder
I have heard, just people online speculate that Arcane, the League of Legends, TV iteration may continue in a story about Noxas, which makes me wonder if we will get more expansion on that stuff in a series about Noxas.
I, okay, I started to interrupt.
I really, I think this was, out of every episode in season two, I felt like every episode, it's like they released them in an axe, right?
Three episodes at a time.
But it's not like a lot of other Netflix shows
We're like, just get to the next one
Just get to the next one
I think every individual episode
Had so much like of a of its own story
To really offer
As just a complete story for that episode
And this felt like a lot of like
We're moving the plot
It felt like the most transitory
Yeah, the most like yeah
We gotta move a bunch of things
So that we can get to the big finale
Yeah, yeah
So I'm like I'm hoping that
that maybe this is
that Netflix one actually where we're like
oh no we should just watch the next one right away
instead because like the other ones I'm like
oh no I feel like we should stop and talk about on this one I'm like
I kind of feel like we should just watch the next one because maybe then
we will not even have these opinions
or questions about certain
things and I was a tad
there's parts about the
Victor storyline
that I'm a tad confused on that I feel
like a bit stupid about where
I'm going I feel like there's something I'm not getting that other people are going to
get that I'm not getting and I feel stupid because
there's a camera porn. I mean, I should get this.
Yeah, I know. I feel the same
in a lot of ways, but I think that
and sure, I mean, you know, we'll see what
the people comment and stuff and I'm sure on a second
viewing things will be more smooth, but it does
like, there have been
episodes that we've watched
hitherto up till now where I have been like,
okay, I'm not
fully clear on every detail, but
I get the main gist that I need to
get, whereas this episode is the one
that has left me being like, wait a minute, I think I need
go look at some of this stuff again or go refresh.
And like, you know, with especially Jace, you know,
you have that dramatic device of the fact that in Act 2 when you see him,
he's not in a lot of it, then he comes back and he's on this mission.
And that's jarring and that's supposed to create this tension of mystery
that we're getting reveals upon and explanations upon now.
But, yeah, it doesn't feel as substantial as it could up till this point.
But we'll see where we land.
I get Jace.
I mean, what he went through in the prior episode,
I really understand why he's so 100% gung-ho based off what he was privy to.
No, totally.
It's more the balancing of that whole story.
Not his personal motivation so much as the balancing out of that entire storyline.
I think the thing that I missed is why Victor would agree to the Mbessa request.
That's the part that I'm like, why would he do that?
And I think there's something I totally missed.
And I feel like I'm paying attention as much as possible.
I was even quieter this time.
And I'm like, I feel like there's something that just completely flew over my head of why.
Or maybe we're not supposed to know.
Well, there's that.
I mean, we might not be supposed to know.
And I can.
And I, and in the back of my mind, I could be like, well, maybe because of his position,
he has to have way more, you know, vast context.
Yeah.
So like, maybe he's agreeing because her plans ultimately aren't even.
going to really matter or factor in when it comes to what he's actually like the plane he's
actually working on like if she if he upgrades all of her soldiers like are they really going
about her command or are they going to be like completely concerned with wholly other things now
for having been enlightened and evolved and whatever else um but yeah these are these are
fair questions but the art i mean still beautiful the mood the tone and and like the jinx vye
and kate stuff was all uh quality as well and uh yeah
still very much still very qualitative still
didn't like bring the show down any points for me i still really love it
no yeah yeah and it definitely begs you to
i'm just excited to go rewatch all this now once it's done so uh so yeah
leave us your thoughts on episode eight and uh get ready because the finale is next up
thank you all for joining us and we'll catch you soon pieces
