More on them in just a bit.
You got anything else for the people before we do it?
No, I do.
Scary Movie 3, let's go.
Tadda!
Yeah.
We've done it.
We've done it.
We've at least made it through the trilogy.
I made it through.
What did you think?
What'd you think?
I mean, you know, it wasn't, I wasn't as horrified as I wasn't, too, because that one was really rough.
There's not as much gross humor in this one, which was good.
And I think I liked the callbacks and some of the, some of the writing a little bit more.
Oh, did we have the whole Wu-Tang clan.
Sorry, they credited all the rapper cameos.
Oh, they did?
I know I missed some of them.
I saw like half the Wu-Tang clans.
I'm like, okay, well, they must all be there, I guess.
But there was like Master P and some other people.
Anyway, I wish there was more.
Kevin Hart, I just love Kevin Hart so freaking much.
I wonder if, like, he was not as famous, obviously not as famous when this came out.
I forget when this came out, but oh my God, Kevin Hart's the best.
Yeah, one of the, like, early things he would have popped up in.
This is probably one of the first things I ever saw him in.
Yeah, yeah.
Way back, what was this, 2003 or something like that?
Yeah.
I mean, it was fun.
You guys know that I, like, somewhat suffer through these movies when it's gross humor.
but also the other part I'm like the humor is not totally up my alley you guys know I like like movies with like heart and like really good writing so sometimes this comedy right you mean this had tons of heart terror you might just make a fact isn't that some real shit this was incredibly deep very deep very deep we went deep today but I still I still had fun obviously I was laughing it yeah so I made it I made it I'm here I made it I made it I do this
This is an accomplishment, all right.
Thank you.
I think you deserve a round of applause.
I'm glad that you guys appreciate it, okay?
I do.
Yeah, I would agree.
This is, I mean, certainly I would imagine that spoof movie in general is something that's
probably a little bit more up my alley.
But I had a blast with this, and I remember back in the day, you know, upon first viewing
or early viewing whenever that was, you know, having a good time with it too.
But yeah, this is a definite sort of shift.
in sensibility while not feeling
it's weird it doesn't feel like it's
completely out of step with the previous two
movies but it definitely feels like a
different set of hands behind the wheel
and you know you're lucky that you
have that through line of Ana Farris
and Regina Hall to kind
of transition things
but you know
I mean I'm a sucker for a certain
amount of this type of comedy especially
like the silly plays on
words and stuff like that
and you know my ball
and then he brings him the bowling balls.
Jesus, you know, just stop, and then he turns around.
He's got the Jesus.
In his hands.
Or the wacky, like, I remember, what was her name?
Her name's like Cherry Davis or something like that.
The woman who plays the Ranger in signs, it's like you remember those early scenes on the highway
when she's in the full uniform with the hat.
And it's like silly little jokes like that where like her hat keeps getting bigger.
You know, stuff like that tickles.
me, even though, you know, certainly I think these, the instances of the humor across this
movie are not quite as like, you watch airplane and there's like a certain amount, a large
amount of silly mad capness going on, but there's a certain amount of like cleverness happening
also.
Yeah.
And I feel like, you know, the jokes here aren't necessarily all that clever.
But I did appreciate that, yeah, you had a good amount of sight gags.
You had a few like film style jokes.
you had a bunch of like wordplay
gags and stuff like that and yeah it's like
it's silly and it's lighthearted
I like that they had more physical
comedy in this one yeah
and I mean certainly you know that also
sets kind of a precedent for
a lot of this wave
of parody movies because especially
as you get out into like the date movie
epic movie all those it's like half just people
getting crushed by falling cows and things
but you know yeah
it's like it's it's so much
sort of wacky silly humor
we are halfway through this thing sorry we're letting the
credits roll and I remember was Airplane
one of those early movies to start doing like
silly credits embellishments and stuff
yeah and I mean you know for for what this was in terms of
like parodying horror movies
you know I thought it was a fairly
conscientious thing to yeah blend mostly the ring with
signs and then get a whole bunch of other stuff in here
the Simon Rex character
is an eight-mile parody.
And the boy who sees dead people.
Yeah, he's kind of like Haley Joel Osmond from Sixth Sense and stuff like that.
So, yeah, I mean, it's got all your kind of horror movie salad jokes.
Totally.
Not quite as much on the, you know, this definitely feels like the first scary movie feels the most like a real movie.
Yeah.
And the second one felt kind of like a sitcom episode, like a sitcom Halloween.
episode.
Yeah.
And this definitely feels like it has the production values of like a parody type movie.
But I felt like there were enough times where they had some like fun or interesting.
Especially I think their recreation of the ring tape was my favorite like filmmaking quality of it like that whilst obviously very silly and goofy still had some of that like unnerving strangeness that comes with the territory of J-horror and especially the images on the ring tape as I remember them anyway.
It's been a long time since I've seen the ring.
But, you know, you get Leslie Nielsen in here.
You get a whole bunch of comedic actors and stuff like that.
Like, you know, this was a lot of fun, you know,
for how light and silly and, you know,
and dumb to a degree a certain amount of the jokes are.
But, but yeah, this felt at least like a,
it's like it's not out of step with the previous movies.
It's less gross, but it's certainly as Madcap
and it's certainly as silly.
Yeah.
And yeah, I appreciate some of that sensibility of, you know, again, the wordplay humor and the just continued commitment from the actors, you know, to this wide-eyed sincerity that marks all the, you know, goofy circumstances and all that stuff.
And especially when he took the aluminum foil and it was a kiss.
Yeah, it's like sightgags and things like that.
But they had more sight stuff, physical comedy in this which I think was fun.
shovel with the shotgun shell like little things like that are silly but like kind of inspired
and clever in a way or they'll catch you off guard and I appreciate that like there wasn't
as much in scary movie too that would catch me off guard and I feel like right oftentimes the
key to dumb humor silly humor is to kind of subvert an expectation or to keep going with like
the rule of threes or topping you know playing tops essentially these different comedic games that
you can play.
I wonder, is there any trivia?
Do you have any trivia?
Let me look up.
Sorry.
Yes.
And this, too, is like, you know,
is certainly moving from, you know,
one bit to the next,
and it never really felt like one scene
or gag was taking up too much time
or, like, you know, going on for way too long.
It's nice to get Queen Latifah
and Eddie Griffin in here, too.
It's funny.
It's like, I like this one a lot,
and I think this was a lot of fun,
and it appeals to,
to what I enjoy about, you know, stuff like an airplane type of movie.
But it is interesting to note how different it does feel from the sensibility of the Wayans Brothers.
And I'm very curious to know what the new sixth movie will feel like with them returning to it, you know,
because it's like you do have performers coming out of the previous two movies.
So you have some connective tissue.
But the, again, the tone, the sensibility does feel markedly different.
Reject Nation.
I never really consider myself a sports guy.
I know so many people who are in the sports, so many people who watch this channel are in the sports, my wife, in the sports.
Sometimes it feels emasculating while she yells at the TV and I don't know what's going on.
Why that feels emasculating?
That's more to do with me than her, that's for sure.
But anyway, the peer pressure got me to find a way to find fun with sports.
And if you're looking for a fun and simple way to get into daily fantasy sports, let me introduce you to prize picks.
It's America's number one daily fantasy app with over 5 million active members.
And honestly, it's the only one I've ever used.
but for everyone who I know who has used fantasy sports thingies before says this is the easiest one they've ever used my wife included and the misses is never wrong all you do is pick more or less on player stat projections like how many yards your favorite QB that's not for quarterback by the way we'll throw or how many points a star player will score you can pick between two and six players and if you get them right you win even I can comprehend this and I'm not the smartest guy and like I said it's easy to get started and it's easy to use a lot of emphasis on the easy here's one easy example so at the time of recording this we just
on Jordan Love, Jaden Reed, and Joe Burrow.
Consulted with John.
John knows more about sports than me.
So really, this was his decision.
So let's see if he'd take this whole operation, or if we're filthy rich now.
Great thing if one of your players ever gets injured.

There's a lot of fives in this shoutout.
$5, $50, $5 million members.
It's like the number 23.
But anyway, you don't even have to win to get the bonus.
Isn't that awesome?
Price Picks, run your game.
Get into Daily Fantasy Sports like this expert over here.
Yeah.
Okay, so I have some trivia.
Anthony Anderson's character, Mahalik, turned out so popular in test screen,
and his additional scenes for him were quickly written
and shot while the theme was already in post-production.
Wow, they loved it that much.
Anna Farris originally dyed her hair black for the first film
because she wanted to resemble Neve Campbellmore as Scream, 1996,
was the film primarily being parodied.
But for this film, she simplyverted back to her natural blonde
to more closely resemble Naomi Watts
since this film primarily parodies The Ring.
Yeah, that makes sense.
I don't even think back of the day,
I would have fully made that connection.
I was just like, she's blonde now.
I guess that's what everybody does.
Go blonde.
Yeah, yeah.
Totally.
On the last day of filming,
Anna Farris was actually hit in the face
by the airport cart prop.
Let's go.
But was unscathed.
All right, made it out.
Admire her dedication to the craft.
At around one minute in the beginning of the movie,
the scene where Pamela Arndon said and Jenny McCarthy
are discussing what happens on the tape,
McCarthy's character mentioned something going on
on a boat in a car.
She's referring to, that's what I said.
Obviously, they're Pamela Anderson's tape with Tommy Lee.
Okay, let's see if I can find.
The scene where president opens the door and says,
I wanted to say a good look while we're all counting on you.
It's referring to the copic scene of the movie Airplane,
where he says the same thing.
This was the only movie in scary movie series
to be nominated for Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award.
See, that is a mark of the change in sensibility
Because, yeah, there's no way the other ones
There is still crude humor in this
And there's still sex jokes and stuff like that
But to nowhere near the extent of the previous two
Right
Oh my God, it says Simon Cowell has since regretted
Making an appearance in the movie
Really?
Yeah, he was embarrassed to see himself on film
I don't know if he means in this film
Or just on film in general, that's all it says
different from TV, my guy.
Yeah, dude, like, you acted exactly how you acted like you on American Idol.
So you should maybe be embarrassed all the time by how mean you are sometimes to people.
Yeah.
Jenny McCarthy appears in this film after turning down a role in the original scary movie.
I wonder she was supposed to be in the prologue.
Oh, so that's why.
Oh, yeah.
And Charlie Sheen and Denise were married in real life at the time of shooting, which makes sense.
And this is the first one to get a PG-13 rating versus R.
Well, there you have it.
There's some trivia for you guys.
Not B-A-D.
I made it through this one.
I appreciate that you appreciate how I am watching these,
even though they're not my favorite.
And I like that you can see it and feel it.
And it's not like I'm hating it.
Like the experience is still fun.
but I know that you
you feel me
and I feel me and I feel you and I'm just happy
to be here and I love your support
that's all I got to say
that's beautiful that's all we need is just to
share in the experience and to love
and support one another through the healing
power of comedy that's right
and it's also just as I guess a final note
here the Matrix is the gift that keeps on
giving to any and all spoof anything
it's like everything it's the
first movie had a matrix gag in it and then the second movie had a matrix gag and this movie had
a matrix gag in it and it's like the first one first two are probably reacting more to just the
original matrix and then we have the sequels now and then countless other movies from here
to the present day constantly referencing the matrix yeah it's funny to see how across three
scary movies and three snapshots of the era in the horror and greater culture how the
Matrix has just remained.
Yeah, has taken over.
But Simon Rex, I thought he was funny in this.
Charlie Sheen coming back from Hot Shots,
because he's done parody movies as well.
So, like, Simon, it'll be fun to revisit the next couple as well
because I feel like in this one, he manages to find a good kind of balance to
Anna Farris, where it's like he is equally as sort of like wide-eyed and like almost
childlike in his expressions and yet very sort of.
again breathlessly committed to it without winking too much of the camera or acting like he's in a
comedy right um and charlie sheen i mean is is already sort of demonstrated that he has those
chops with hot shots and hot shots part or whatever it's called yeah um so yeah i love i love i just
gotta say this it's funny because it says here in the screen it says related and it says over the top
comedy's the first one that shows is elf and i freaking love that movie that is my that is like
Top movie to me.
So I do like some over-the-top comedies, okay?
So don't get on me, all right?
I love Elf so freaking much, like you sit on a throne of lies.
I love that movie.
You want a movie that's committed to its premise and character in a very unified fashion.
I really do.
I like a good movie.
Versus a loose collection of sketches and, like, random character beats.
I don't do well with those.
It's still fun.
Sure.
Just wanted to say,
absolutely.
Saw the thing.
And here's hoping that for Scary Movie 4,
you'll get even more of Kevin Hart and Anthony Anderson to get.
You might just get your wish.
Look Kevin in there.
I love him so much.
You might get more Kevin.
Well, gang, what did you think of Scary Movie 3?
Where would you rank it amongst the other four in the five,
in the quintology that currently exists?
What are your hopes for Scary Movie 6?
Do you hope Simon Rex will come back along with Anna Farris?
She said she'll do it if Regina Hall does it.
So if we get Brenda back, you never know.
But either way.
That's fun.
Excited to see what they come up with.
Leave us your thoughts and we'll catch you on the next one.
Pieces.
Lex.
Cool.
I feel like you would fit into the world of this show.
Which part?
The poor part or the rich part?
Either one.
That's the great thing about Lex because Lex is a badass.
And if there's anything that this show has taught us,
is that you could be high-born, you could be low-born,
but either way, badasses are born all over the place.
Well, I guess if you were born in Zon, you would be a batter-ass.
I think you're way more badder-ass.
Yeah.
You're poor, Lex.
You're poor, and you live in a slum.
I think that makes you a badass.
You come from a broken family, but you might have cool-ass gauntlet gloves.
You live off food stamps.
Every month, you're not sure if you're going to make the rain.
And you're always breathing toxins in and mutating your genetic materials.
Family member dies.
You can't pay it for their funeral.
And then maybe they come back and they get mutated.
And then you have to deal with it all over again.
And that's what makes you cool, Lex.
That's a badass way to be bad ass quality.
That's the sacrifice you had to make to be cool.
And you don't ask for attention.
Nope.
Even though we know all this about you, Lance.
You're poor.
I pledge my allegiance to you, Lex.
This Patreon pledge is put.
you in the negatives in your bank account yeah where are you getting the money are you selling
shimmer the constant overdraft fees are killing you right now get off the stuff kid yeah you stick
around your whole life ahead of you appreciate you doing that love you Lex celebrate Thanksgiving
at the homeless shelter this year get in line oh yeah I'll come serve you a plate and I'll and we'll
snap a pick for social media and then I'll piece out of so good yeah looks so good yeah because of you
only because of bad ass
Thank you.
