Starting point is 00:00:00 Thank you to Hewl for sponsoring this video. More on them in just a bit. Royal Rejects get ready to sync up with us in 3, 2, 1. All right. Well, we got a lot of questions. We got to do what we did last time, which is we're first going to give our quick thoughts. But first, if we do the first thing we're gonna firstly say hey subscribe and click that bell if you guys keep watching we'll keep returning right and also uh prepper the turnaround and uh seriously actually the real hustle you guys have been doing lately has been keeping this channel alive thank you so much for your dedication, your long hours. You guys are absolutely killing it. Genuinely, you're killing it.
Starting point is 00:00:48 Thank you so much. Um, Aaron, I'll toss the question to you first. Ah. The Q to you. What are your first thoughts here, buddy? It was a lot of fun. I really dug this one. Yeah. I had that Halloween vibe. I felt like even though obviously there's an element of horror, spook and mystery to all of these,
Starting point is 00:01:07 I think this one really had the spirit of Halloween to it, going to the Salem witch sort of vibe. And then the finale was extremely fun and a surprising turn and was real spooky and real witchy. Like, oh, you want some witch? Boom, oops, all witch. And it was very satisfying to watch. And yeah, you know, the Scooby gang is great as usual.
Starting point is 00:01:33 We love some Shaggy, love some Scooby. Getting us some shenanigans. Shaggy eating some dog food. Them eating a lot of human food. And them usually being the ones that are the first ones to discover the thing that is spooky and then Velma doing some stuff and then you know Fred and Daphne you're there and yeah they're they're part of the crew but yeah I I
Starting point is 00:01:56 really enjoyed it and I'm happy that we're doing these what do you think dude? I'm gonna preview the questions super quick so that way I don't say anything that's not in. This guy always checking his phone on camera. The most unprofessional man we know here. He sure is on emergency. All right. I'm going to just make sure I'm not going to say something that would possibly give it-
Starting point is 00:02:31 Yeah, I think I should wait to say what I want to say. I enjoyed this one a lot. I like this one a lot, honestly. Uh, I- I- This is just more my sensibility, personally, of, you know, witches, wiccans, all that stuff. I've always been very much gravitated towards it like zombies I mean I absolutely adore but like the vibe of small town pilgrimage and all that it's just a thing I'm gravitated to Salem's Salem witch trials. I thought the characterization of especially Ben Ravencroft was really good.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Like he was a full-fledged character and like very very charming and the twist reveal I thought was great. I like how this movie gives you the best of both worlds. It gives you both the traditional Scooby-Doo twists. You know, pull off the mask trying to figure out who that is. When that guy first showed up with the shirt, I was suspecting, but I was like, you spoke to everybody because, you know, here's what I noticed. There's usually a couple of people and usually one of the people. Well, it's only there for like a little tiny bit.
Starting point is 00:03:37 That's what they that's what they usually do. Only for a little bit. You're locking on the formula. I'm trying to figure out there is a formula. Yeah. OK, but you feel like you got all the money this time. I mean, yeah, I did suspect anyone they zoomed in on. Anyone who got a close up that wasn't part of the Scooby Gang. Maybe. Yeah, that is the way my brain operated for that one. For sure. Very fair. Yeah, the animation I feel like is an improvement
Starting point is 00:04:05 over the last one too. It really looked like the WB animation from watching like the Superman show and the Batman the Animated series. The movement on them, the detail, and the more the movie went, the more vivid it actually got. I wasn't expecting this like Halloween vibe.
Starting point is 00:04:19 The Halloween vibe was really great. I loved Scooby and Shaggy here. Like they were so much more essential, and purposefully essential. I prefer Scooby when he's actually kinda nice, instead of a bully. No, we need them to actually feel like friends. Yeah, they actually felt like real friends,
Starting point is 00:04:37 whereas Scooby's kind of a bully in the last one. Yeah, stealing food, boo. Boo Scooby from Zombie Island. Velma's, the interaction that's really sad and I started like link it to Scooby-Doo 2 for her Yeah, wait, ah, she's the one who got close to the main guy and you know Then they even though Seth Green wasn't bad in that movie the the way they like mess with that for her Like that's a really sad thing that she went through because there's like she's a massive admirer her like that's a really sad thing that she went through because that is like she's a massive admirer the ghost was like the not the real ghost the real
Starting point is 00:05:09 ghost was a spooky and very there's something very nostalgic about her portrayal and I do wish Fred and Daphne did something more in these I think they're very like they're just there I don't know what's like distinct about them obviously they're massive part of this Scooby know what's like distinct about them. Obviously they're a massive part of the Scooby-Doo staple but yeah I want them to have more involvement. It makes them more distinct other than being the two hot ones that are like a couple. Yeah that's true. Oh and the Hex Girls! They were great! Amazing addition. They're my favorite part. They like both these movies have had original songs and
Starting point is 00:05:42 they're great original songs and they feel very different And I like I like the look of them a lot Yeah, this movie had me like I actively went into this one like I'm going to figure it out But it really had my mom the gears churning and I thought it was an incredibly enjoyable animated movie Yeah, a great time with it. I think we should go through some of these questions Patricia I think we should go through some of these questions. Just get it. Patricia Carrillo, we're just going to go in order here. My favorite of these Scooby-Doo titles. I'm a Hex Girl is a staple for many. What's some of your favorite songs by fictional bands or artists as a kid or adult?
Starting point is 00:06:18 What? Fictional bands? I got one. It's Chef Skylark, Shining Teeth and me from Fairly Odd Parents. I don't know that It's um, it's like one of the I think one of the Backstreet Boys played a character on that show and he made a song about Having like shiny teeth shiny teeth and me So that's the first thing in my mind that question. Thank you for the question also Patricia This movie got me really in the mood for down. I was just shouted out down down the witches road. I remember when I saw that and I heard that in Agatha all along. I questioned if it was a real song and I found myself especially after the final
Starting point is 00:06:53 episode I would like listen to the different versions when I was like working out and because they had like the rock version and they had the one that's you know just a Catherine Hawn's voice people come because they did three different renditions of that. I come as they did three different renditions of that. I really, really loved all three of them. So yeah, that was a really cool one of me. Also sweet victory from SpongeBob. Also a classic staple for my child. Love to hear it. Here. Kev B. What did you think of Ben at the beginning? Did he seem trustworthy or suspicious? I suspected him right away. He was too aloof. I also suspected him because in the last one, the person who brought them in and invited
Starting point is 00:07:29 them to the thing was the person who was actually the bad guy. So I'm like, hmm, clearly she's into this guy. We saw it in Scooby-Doo 2. She doesn't usually end up with the gun. Oh, I guess she kind of did with Seth Green. But yeah, I was like, this seems too good to be true. But I didn't expect him to wholly turn into a warlock and then raise the dead of his ancestor. That was unexpected, but I think him being the bad guy was definitely something I saw. Yeah, see, I like that,
Starting point is 00:07:57 because they even did a flashback of her normal to really throw you for a loop. Like, oh, she's like a benevolent, wiccan tempted healer kind of individual I thought that was really smart to like really throw you off the trail yeah and then do a little twisty poo and then oh my god they're both bad and then he got what he deserved at the end cuz you don't trigger girl Velma I do love the twist of that was his ultimate plan and like how dare you try to paint her in this light? I thought that was so smart. Izanah, Geisler, how did you guys find Tim Curry
Starting point is 00:08:29 in the co-lead villain role? And did you find these versions of the animated films? Haven't seen Cybertrace yet. Were a huge inspiration for James Gunn's live action version of Scooby-Doo. I have definitely, I mean, I can't sit here and go, oh, no, it's like really a hodgepodge of all the show. There's no way I can say that because I've never seen it. But I do see, um, every, both movies, I find
Starting point is 00:08:50 myself consistently flashing to the live action version because I'm watching these in the weirdest order. And so, yeah, I mean, I definitely see it. I don't know if it's directly influenced, but I really like, uh, this one in particular kind of reminded me a little bit more of, um, Scooby-Doo 2, I would say. Yeah. Yeah. We're having love interests, me a little bit more of Scrooby-Doo 2, I would say. Yeah, with her having love interests, but a little bit more stuff going on there. But yeah, I think Tim Curry was great. His voice and the way he was able to change it when he was finally bad,
Starting point is 00:09:14 I thought that stuff was really good. But yeah, I could see the inspiration, especially watching them in the, I guess, incorrect order, and see how these definitely were inspiring what James Gunn did, because yeah, you see the tone and character consistencies between both live action and animated iterations. So yeah, makes me appreciate James Gunn's movies
Starting point is 00:09:37 more in retrospect. And even with Tim Curry, when I said I liked his voice, it really felt like an actor was trying to get something real in the voice. And that's why I liked it, because it wasn't like an actor was trying to get something real in the voice. And that's why I liked it because it wasn't like this fully committed accent. It was like as if it was sort of fading like mid fading, you know, like always because he travels between like England and America. So it wasn't like a full English accent, right? It would like dip in and out. And I was like, this is is really like I don't you wouldn't actually hear that in animation usually they just go
Starting point is 00:10:08 like all in on the on the accent right like an exaggerated yeah but it's like there's a detention of detail when I when I that's when I had that thought so yeah that complements it and it makes the whole that's the thing is it feels like a real character like a three dimensional character. I was really, really impressed by that. Any plans on doing some of the DC Scooby-Doo movies in the future? Ooh, what? There's like DC Scooby-Doo movies?
Starting point is 00:10:34 Yeah, I know, I don't know about a ton of them, but I do remember like when they had the animated Batman show from like the 60s or 70s, they had a crossover with Scooby-Doo. What? Yeah. that sounds fun. Maybe. Yeah, maybe. Thanks for letting us know. That sounds fun. Reject nation. I have officially lost over 45 pounds this year.
Starting point is 00:10:56 I am still working on a couple of extra goals for body composition development. But I'm proud to say I've done it with no injections, no crash diets, just pure discipline, consistent training, and yeah, fuel with Huell. But yeah, when I started back in January, I was like 218 pounds, and now I'm averaging between like 171 and 173. And one of the things that's helped me genuinely
Starting point is 00:11:18 stay on track with having such a busy schedule, especially now that we have this office away from my home. I got a fridge right over there that is packed with so much of this. Huel's Black Edition Ready to Drink. This thing's got 35 grams of protein, 27 essential vitamins and minerals, slow release carbs, and it's actually a complete meal in one bottle. So I'm not just grabbing a snack, I'm really getting some actual fuel in my cells. Ah, man, chocolate and vanilla,
Starting point is 00:11:45 they're my two favorites. They're the main staples and they are my two favorite ones. No mess, no prep, just grab, drink and go. Legitimately good taste, no chalky aftertaste. I'm a strict macro plan and I can fit it into my macro plan. Low sugar, high protein, super efficient, I'm all about efficiency.
Starting point is 00:12:00 And flavor selection's pretty good. My wife actually really likes the iced coffee and the strawberry banana. And if you can't decide between all the wonderful flavors, they got a variety box. And if you're anything like me, variety is a treasure. Best part, each bottle is under five bucks, which is great when you're replacing a whole meal. So not just keeps your body on track, but your wallet on track too. So if you're trying to lose weight, get a funny looking mustache, build muscle, or just
Starting point is 00:12:24 eat smarter and try to keep your lifestyle a little bit more efficient. Try Huell today. There's a reason we've been partnered with them for quite a while. You can go to Huell.com, use my code REJEX and you'll get 15% off your first order plus a free gift. That's Huell.com code REJEX. Or you can just type Huell.com slash REJEX. I don't know why I haven't been saying that this whole time and all that efficiency that's the most efficient way anyway feel smart feel good thanks to heal for sponsoring this video I'll keep that in mind punk to leg zombie island and which is ghost of the tour remember seeing most as a kid cyberchase was great too but
Starting point is 00:13:00 that did not question you guys have now watched a few different Scooby-Doo tiles. So my question is Greg, that's me. Watching these now, would you have preferred to have seen these growing up or do you feel like you're having an even better time as an adult experience than for the first time? I'll go first. I have been, I mean I love that I get to do this now and share them with you guys and get to have it in this weird order, but I did feel like I was missing out on something growing up because it's such a big part of cultural osmosis and pop culture. And every kid knows Scooby-Doo, but me, you know, like I just did not know Scooby-Doo. But me? You know, like I just did not know Scooby-Doo. So to have, I did like wish I grew up with it, but it is kind of cool to get it from this like
Starting point is 00:13:50 observant point of view and to do something with the channel. So I don't have like a regret. Would I have preferred? I would have preferred, yeah, because I would have loved the experience of seeing all this and it would have that nostalgic charm. But Aaron, reverse question, would you rather have this be your first viewings of all the Scooby-Doo or are you glad this was part of your childhood? I think I'm glad it was part of my childhood.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Yeah, I'm definitely glad it was part of my childhood because I have a reference for it. It feels, in a sense, feels like home because I watched the show growing up so I'm familiar with some of the idiosyncrasies of the characters and sort of the formula of how these stories unfold. But seeing these with fresh eyes as an adult, I get the appreciation of watching these stories but also having that home feeling because there's an air of comfortability with watching both the live-action and the animated ones so true Cody Enos which hex girl do you aspire to be when you grew up uh the center redhead girl because she was the only one who was a real character out of the three yeah i like the one with the green hair she was're all cute. They're all cool and witchy.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Yeah, well, eco-goth? I've never heard of that before. I don't know what eco-goths are. Let us know in the comments. I may sound like they're environmentally friendly, goth-driven, like wiccans. But we don't really see that. Like, you don't often associate the environmentalist side of loving Earth. It could also be really nature and spiritual with like a dark, goth sense. You never associate with that.
Starting point is 00:15:28 So I think that's what they're saying. Okay, I get it. Yeah, I think either the green one or the red one. I'm gonna say green because he said red. Yeah, the red one just looked like of like the X-Men cartoon. Thomas Doherty, did this movie do a better job exploring the characters?
Starting point is 00:15:45 Also, which story do you prefer between which is Ghost and Zombie Island? Yeah, I'll just say it. I thought this one, I would say this one is my second favorite out of all we watched. I would still put the first Scooby-Doo live action for me, but out of all them I would put this at number two above Scooby-Doo 2, and I would still put Zombie Island last which I know is kind of like a sin for people to say but I really did I like this one a lot. I would say Monsters Unleashed this one live action Scooby-Doo. Zombie Island would be bottom for you too? Yeah yeah I'm I like this one a lot. You the movie more than the first Scooby-Doo movie?
Starting point is 00:16:26 I like the first Scooby-Doo movie. I don't like that they're separated at the beginning. But I like them all. But I think I like how much of the inspiration of the cartoon was in that initial second line of action movie. And I like that, I don't know, just bias and nostalgia with the second one. So just by default it falls in third and fourth place. For the people who are still here, do you prefer Scooby-Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed more
Starting point is 00:16:54 than the original Scooby-Doo for like those who grew up on Scooby-Doo? Because yeah, I think that one works as like an introduction too for people like me, you know. Definitely. Yeah. Let's see, we got a few more or a couple more. Brittany Winter. Thanks, Brittany. The Witch's Ghost is a great movie. Oh, it's time. It's the one that keeps replaying every year out of all
Starting point is 00:17:15 the Scooby Doo animated movies between the two scene. Which do you like better? Dang, I should have reserved the answer for that. That's what I should have reserved before. That was way more specific. Wait, no, it's the same question. You got the same answer. Yep. But I love your profile pic, Brittany. You look like a Hex girl.
Starting point is 00:17:30 Yeah. I dig it. Right? I appreciate you. I say so. Punked...plig? Is that the right one? No, Brittany Winter. Brittany Winter, thank you!
Starting point is 00:17:42 You're dope. And yes. Uh, you're cool. You're dope. And yes, you're cool. You're cool chick. You're like the redheaded one. Pierre the reject. Between Zombie Island and Witches Ghost, which do you think is the darkest Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo anime, which was dark?
Starting point is 00:18:05 I think Zombie Island was definitely still more like a darker time. Bunch of dead people in the pond, and they all came back to evade the people. That's more tragic. Yeah, it's definitely more tragic. Or there's like really spooky fun, but I remember feeling like, wow, this
Starting point is 00:18:22 is kind of like an actual horror situation. Yeah, they could make that one like an actual horror movie if they wanted to for live action. I would love to see that. I would love to see that. So I would go with that one. But yeah, this has been a surprise experience. You know, I went in very apprehensively to Scooby Doo, like the producer of Channel Guy and me was like, yeah, this makes sense. Let's get a guy who knows Scooby Doo and then someone who doesn't. I feel like that'd be a fun pair. And I was like, oh, but I don't really want to watch this.
Starting point is 00:18:49 Like, that was my honest, like, mood before. Then I was like so surprised by how much I enjoyed it. And then now we're here. Like, this was not part of the plan at all. We're the Scooby Dudes now. Scooby Dudes, what a great thing to hear. I love that, the Scooby Dudes. Scooby Dooby Dudes. And. What a great thing to hear. I love that. The Scooby dudes.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Scooby dooby dudes. And then we get Andrew Roxanne here. Where are the Jews? We need some help from you now. It could be Daphne and Fred. Yeah. Andrew and Fred. You little ascot.
Starting point is 00:19:22 And then we could have Terebi Velma. Actually, that all fits. I like that. I'm with it. John would be, uh... He'd be scrappy. LAUGHS Scrappy dude. Alright, guys, what did you guys think about this one? Where would you rank it? Leave your thoughts down below.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Thank you so much for being here. And as usual, if this is doing alright, we will continue then. Thank you so much for joining us. SCREAMING And as usual if this is doing alright, we will continue them. Thank you so much for joining us De ha ha ha hey, oh you know Yeah, could pull us off the scoop gang goes to Colorado. They go to a museum uh-huh to investigate This stolen artifact a stolen artifact and the supposed thief is some type of Crazy ancient mummy. Yeah
Starting point is 00:20:09 Terrorizing the curators. Uh-huh, and then you pull off the mask and it is cut Dia I would have gotten away with it, too It wasn't for that meddling dog and his stupid friends. He he says. Those goddamn kids. That's what they say in the Scooby Doo movies. And Katia though, I don't know why you'd wanna, why you'd wanna hurt these people or like, do you, you're- Because the museum's a noise violation.
Starting point is 00:20:37 It's annoying. I just feel like- It's usually the motivation. If Katia's taking revenge, there's gotta be good reason. That's true. I feel like you'd be that rare Scooby Doo villain where villain where at the end of it somehow you'd make the scooby game like the bad guys And he'd be on your side mystery inc actually lets you go and apologize For yeah, stopping your dealing of justice now. You're seeing the magic John. I believe it see I'm learning Kadia
Starting point is 00:21:02 thank you for being here for being back back here, and for constantly supporting us. And hopefully we see you for next month as well. Heck yeah.
