I know it's sting like a bee. But this is, Sing 2. Ron Jock the in the house. What's up, John?
Starting point is 00:01:34 Yeah, baby. I'm good. I'm good. You're feeling good about Sing 2? Yeah, I feel great about Sing 2. I'm very excited. Are you going to sing along? I'm going to sing along the entire movie, nonstop. I hope you do. I actually like your voice. Oh, thanks. You're welcome.
Starting point is 00:01:46 I appreciate. Maybe we can do it harmony. We can do a duet. We heard from you guys last time that Sing 2 might even be better than sing a one. You say one cooler than me. Juan. I can't do it like you. You say three the best. Three.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Is there going to sing three? I hope so eventually, but just now they're the two. Just the two. Okay, well, we'll get there eventually. But leave a like, comment, subscribe. Even if you like, sing one better, do all of those things so that we know how you guys are feeling. Thank you so much to Prepper for helping us edit down this video. I'm sure I need it.
Starting point is 00:02:19 So thank you for doing it. And if you want to be super sexy like the bacon lovers from before, bringing it back. We love bacon. Get you a slight. Starting point is 00:02:38 And that's what we're doing today. We're singing. We're singing. So here we go. Well, gang, hey, look, if you're about to listen to this on Apple or Spotify, Spotify. Five stars only, baby. And what, you know what else is five star in this life? I thought you would never realize where I was going immediately.
Starting point is 00:03:10 But this shirt is a great shirt and teas like these are available at rejectnation shop.com. But not just teas like these. We've got a whole bunch of stuff. So many teas and it's a great way to support the channel. It's one of our favorite ways if you want to rock your allegiance to the nation. While also directly supporting, consider jumping on that t-shirt train. But anyhow, Roxanne. What's up, John?
Starting point is 00:03:38 I love this one. Once you're done at Rejectnationshop.com, what did you think about this movie? No, that's a good point, though. Also, I love that you say it's the best way to support because, like, you got, we get something, you get something. Everybody gets a win, win, win, win.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Listen, I liked this one better than the first one. Oh, really? Okay. And I like the first one a lot. I like this one along, too. It was towards the end where I just realized, like, my body has been in chills for an hour. Like, there were so many banger after banger moment where you're just like, get them. And because, I don't know, maybe because it is a sequel and we've lived with these characters longer,
Starting point is 00:04:15 that it felt like a TV show finale where it was like, we earned these moments. We've been with them. We've been working for this. And then every character gets their moment. They do such an unbelievable job with an ensemble cast here. So good. And then the music just slapped again. What did you think?
Starting point is 00:04:33 I thought so too. Yeah. I mean, like, again, I really like the format of jukebox musical with, you know, these kinds of scenarios where it's like, oh, yeah, we got to put on some big show. And, you know, the first time is a bit of a Save the Rec Center kind of thing. And then this one is like, yeah, we got to step up to the big leagues. And, yeah, it's like a progression. I thought it was really natural. And I really enjoyed the way that we're building off of the previous movie.
Starting point is 00:04:55 We're adding a couple new players. and you know obviously we've got a whole different medley of songs to come back to now and yeah i mean like i i probably had just as much fun this time as i did the first time like it's a little different in how it moves because you know most of our main players you don't have to do as much introduction yeah they didn't have to do the heavy lifting in this one so they could just have fun and i was like yeah yeah yeah and it's like i i mean i don't know exactly which one i would say is my favorite just yet but i i some days might pick this one because i really did like the just the expansion that we went on in going to what was it called red shore city
Starting point is 00:05:33 and yeah just like seeing what that side of you know this type of performance in this specific universe would look like and yeah getting all your vagus vibes and stuff like that and the fun games that they introduce in having to build this show from scratch and you know the the circumstances are mad cap enough but also they seem kind of to compliment the first movie in terms of how much of a again look in a prayer all of this is being assembled upon so yeah I thought this was super fun and and yeah having it be that like okay we we got to go impress this you know talent manager the talent scout you know and uh because the first one we had also the talent show but that was for mr moon and now he's doing the talent show for someone
Starting point is 00:06:19 else yeah oh good call yeah absolutely yeah and being you know sort of subject to the the selection process and the tastes that go into that and stuff there's i mean this is so specific but that johnny moment with the dance at the end where the guy is like give me your outfit and comes out and it's just like i think i the reason i think i love this one even more is because i took my first performance class when i was three years old like this is when this is what you want there was so much to connect to in this between people telling you you're not good enough no you'll never make it right and then they're the people who want to support you like he's like can't give you $50 to help me learn to dance and she's like coming through you know for him and a major hype girl
Starting point is 00:07:03 in his corner and all of them trying to support each other but then there are the people like that dance teacher who just want to see you fail if you can't do it their way and they're cruel because maybe they weren't as successful as they wanted to be or maybe they're not as successful as they think you could be or whatever or they have their own insecurities so that moment just was so powerful to me because they go like johnny sees it happening he doesn't break he goes with it and then when you think he's going to bow out his friend on the side does the banging and it's like oh man that was just like the best scene yeah that was really really cathartic and rewarding and the and that's yeah one of those things one of those like theater things yes a trope of both you know
Starting point is 00:07:49 theater fiction but also theater reality yeah the the teacher who for whatever reason thinks themselves just the pinnacle of ability and taste and and yeah like that was a moment too where i guess i wasn't it was the right amount of like you know you know the teacher has to be proved wrong in some capacity and has has to be made to eat your hat at least figuratively eat that hat uh which i'm sad never happened in the literal sense uh but also at the same time that that That created a moment that was like sort of unexpected to me where I was like, damn, we, this is actually becoming like a legit fight and this guy is being so petty. Like that was a funny thing to me is, is like the wolf and that teacher were like so petty that they couldn't perceive anything outside of like the narrow vision of their petty. Yeah, the wolf was so petty.
Starting point is 00:08:41 And then they're like then they get those followers. Like the wolf has that cat and obviously he's paying him. But they sometimes you there are followers of the. these mean people. I need to know about the Bono situation. What's the name of the character? It was Clay Calloway. Clay Calloway. But yeah, I loved when he jumps in and he's actually going to fight him. And like, you know that Johnny is going to triumph eventually. But like that was that actually like had me up in the drama of the moment. I was like, oh, damn. Like this is in the back of my mind. I was like, this is so unprofessional and like ethically messed up. You're supposed to
Starting point is 00:09:15 be a teacher and an instructor. And yet you're out. here like you know truly just trying to like save your own pride by embarrassing this kid in front of like a massive crowd like absolutely you deserve to be schooled in front of everybody i need you to know something what's that that was that be bono it was only just bono the whole time listen to this uh bono plays clay callaway and it says uh this is coming from screen ramp bono's not an actor by trade but he took a rare step outside the music world by joining the cast to sing too. God,
Starting point is 00:09:49 that's what it says here. That's crazy. That's wild to me. His voice was unrecognizable in this. He sounded like Ethan Hawk. If there's ever an Ethan Hawk voiceover, you could do it. He did because he had the grit and he had that, yeah. Well, at first he said Nick Nolte and I was like, it does kind of sound like Nick Nolte.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Yeah, because he's got the grid. He's got the gravel that Nick Nolty has, but he's, but Nick Nolty also sounds like he's being squeezed perpetually. Is this sly? Like who? Yeah. Who am I listening to? It was Bono, man. That's so wild to me.
Starting point is 00:10:22 Well, and two, because he's not got his natural accent. It further throws you off from catching it because. Yes. Bobby Conavalli, yes. Yeah, I could definitely hear that in him now. Totally. And Eric Andre for Darius, yeah. You were like, is this going to be Darius Rucker?
Starting point is 00:10:39 And then in my head the whole time, I'm thinking like, I only know his singing voice. I don't know what Darius Rucker sounds like other than that. But I would have loved a hooty and the Blowfish song. I'd say that would be funny. I mean, I kind of hope they keep finding reasons to make these. Is that the break dancer who helps Johnny dance? Oh, I feel like, yeah, that would be, because she's got that British accent and stuff.
Starting point is 00:11:00 Yeah. Yeah. And then you got Peter Sarah Finowitz back. Yep, yep, yep. And then a whole bunch of other additional voices, which one of, one is listed as Wes Anderson. I wonder if it's the Wes Anderson. Wait, what?
Starting point is 00:11:14 At the very top. Yeah, no, I see it. And then there's Vida, Alvay. is McConaughey, which I can only assume is a Maconaghan. And then he had Jason Schwartzman in here. What's happening? So many interesting. And again, we have a Terra Strong. Edgar Wright's back. I would love a breakdown of all these incidental voices and whatnot.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Me too. But yeah, like going from the first movies, you know, they're putting on a show, but it is much more of a music review, a jukebox scenario. Whereas this is more incidentally jukebox. in terms of its narrative. You know, you're putting together like a legitimate original show that happens to be bringing in outside music.
Starting point is 00:11:56 But yeah, just as like an ex-theater kid, too. It's just like so fun and gratifying to watch something like this that is so kind of in that energy. And then you get your brief detour as, you know, Ms. Crowley drives out to try and see Callaway and, you know, entice him to coming back
Starting point is 00:12:12 and like, yeah, you get those little interludes and stuff. Yeah, Ash is so underrated, too. like ash is just such a because you're talking about miss crawley driving out but like ash was so great and like mr moon being able to delegate in this one and everybody's stepping up and rising to the occasion and us not being like that wouldn't have happened it's like they have earned that and him being like if anybody can do it it's ash he knew in that moment he couldn't will it and it gave it to ash to do and she did ash is a stud bro absolutely he knows when to delegate to his homegirls ash and miss crawley like both like hold it down i know yeah he's you admire a character who has the ability to go look
Starting point is 00:12:50 i've done what i can but clearly somebody else has the the nis for this yeah yeah okay so after the second movie who was your favorite character who's your favorite character now oh that's a tough one man and why is it miss crowley it's always miss crowley it's unfair to even ask this question but my second favorite character now besides miss crawley um oh man that's that's that's really that's really tough this time you guys let us know who's your favorite character after this who's your favorite in the first and who's your favorite in this one i think this time was johnny but it is really because of that unbelievable moment at the end where i was just like oh yeah so good just that was really powerful to me oh yeah yeah i mean that was that was perhaps the moment where i like lost
Starting point is 00:13:36 myself the most for a second there uh damn i mean yeah it might just be i feel i feel like i have to come up with an interesting answer and be like, you know, the smat guy about it. Why am I blanking on Reese Witherspoon's name? Her name is Rosita. Rosita, I also love that moment where she ends up saving Mr. Moon because she can't do it for herself, but she can do it for her loved ones. And that's so true to her character. She's just always true to her loved ones.
Starting point is 00:14:02 But I do wish that maybe we've, like, then talked about it afterwards, somebody being like, see, Rosita, you can do it. And her being like, next time I won't be so afraid. Just because I don't want it, she can only, I don't want it to be. be in the future she can only jump if somebody's died that was the thing i was thinking of too and yeah like you you you understand you can head can you understand what has happened but it would have been nice to and that is something about this movie is because we know everybody there's a little less i feel like they felt maybe a little less necessity to you know round all of these moments
Starting point is 00:14:36 instead of you know kind of allowing you the trust to be like well you know she figured it out you know this was the icebreaker she needed like yeah i could have used some kind of like oh my god like you did it like you know some acknowledgement of that but at the same time you know it doesn't really the crescendo has taken place by that point so yeah i don't think uh i wasn't left wanting for that but i would have enjoyed seeing it if that makes any sense i might ask is insane i know this cast is insane like bono and feral i know man's crazy to me and that's wild and uh And, yeah, I mean, Mina got a good love story in there. And you got Gunter holding down the whole show.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Like, I don't know. It's super hard to pick a favorite. I just, I always want to hug. Is there anybody? I don't know how to phrase it better. Is there anybody that you didn't like? Well, I mean, you know, Darius kind of sucks as a character. Darius never.
Starting point is 00:15:34 The thing about the newer character. Yeah, but like he was a great character, right? You know, like you're annoyed by him. He sucks in the way he's supposed to suck. Yeah, he's funny to watch, and he accentuates the Mina's storyline, but we don't really ever get to know him. The only, I guess, if I had to critique the movie slightly, we don't really get to know any of the new characters very much, so.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Oh, I got to see if this is a person I was thinking of, keep going. Sure. So, yeah, it's like, you know, beyond a certain point. They're kind of one note a little. Kind of. Not even that I would necessarily reach directly for that as the, descriptor but yeah it's like darius or um uh too i mean Porsche gets some level of development but like darius is mostly a joke that he's oblivious and you know full of himself and
Starting point is 00:16:22 then you have um uh don't they bring in one other person who am i forgetting i don't know but i know i'm no i'm going to get so much heat for this oh no oh no it's not chelsea paredi i was thinking of i was thinking of christin milliotti who is the girl from palm springs when you said chelso pruddy She's not in Palm Springs. That's the girl who ends up being how I met your mother girl and the girl from Palm Springs. And for some reason, their names sounded. I couldn't when you said, oh, my God, the comments are going to lose. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:16:50 I'm sorry. When he said Chelsea Peretti, I was thinking Kristen Miliani. It's okay. They have similar names. Give it to me. I'm sure I missed somebody like that or confused somebody like that the last time. Oh, there you go. Nushi.
Starting point is 00:17:05 She's the other character. Who you kind of get a same thing. You kind of get to know her a little bit, but mostly it's just through her helping Johnny and being cool and being a break dancer. I would love her and sing three. Sure. More of her. And I would love more of, um, Alfonso. Was it the other elephant?
Starting point is 00:17:20 Yeah, Alfonso. Yeah. Yeah. Like, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and I'm glad, like, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, like, it was, like, a huge thing with, like, oh, my, my, my first kiss, you know, um, and I thought they made, like, just the right amount of drama out of that to that to, to. to where, like, you know, once you get to the actual number towards the end, you're able to lose yourself into it. And I like that they chose to have him do the actual number through her fantasy. I thought that was a nice choice. Just kind of...
Starting point is 00:17:50 Me too. Just instead of just his... I thought they were going to just do his face on the body. Yeah. I don't know, like, that looks weird. But it was cool with the two elephants and then them, like, their trunks kind of connecting. Yeah. I was into it.
Starting point is 00:18:02 There was so much fun about this one. I probably knew a bit more of the music overall in the first one. but yeah still a really nice lively mixture of songs with some fun and interesting inter like when they bring out the um i forget what the exact name of it is that the chikovsky like the dance of the knights uh from romeo and juliet that whole thing that they're doing in the dance training yeah it's like i love and the first movie had choices like that too so it's like i enjoyed very much the array of pop offerings and recognizable songs plus choices like that that are again like musical in a less obvious way there or in a more you know music whatever the word is for
Starting point is 00:18:44 a musicophile you know uh those are yeah for for the parents out there who are like oh that's a classical piece did you i know i asked you this at the top but did you say that there is a sing three i don't think i don't think there is one at the moment there could be one on the horizon i really think that this actually has earned a sing three i would love to i mean like the thing is to me, this is the kind of thing that you could do, I hesitate to say almost episodically. Like, you could do these periodically as long as you have a few
Starting point is 00:19:13 of the returning cast and you'll always have a smorgas board of new and old songs to choose from. So, like... They haven't put anybody from Glee in this. Oh, my goodness. I'll, you know, who would leave your Sing 3 is confirmed.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Oh, yeah, it's in development. Release date remains. under wraps, but it is deep into development apparently and that's as of a year ago. So I am very happy to hear that. It should be.
Starting point is 00:19:47 Because like there's so, you know, like I feel like there are many things you can do. Obviously these are two big examples, big talent show, music competition, you know, big sort of Vegas style, glitzy music review show. But I feel like there's so much in this avenue of just performance and
Starting point is 00:20:03 dream chasing that you can do. And again, you know, I think they continued with this. You know what I think on that? Sorry to completely cut you off and interrupt you. As you say, like the Vegas style and all that. We could pick up thing three where they have been doing like a Broadway style every night. And now how does this affect their lives with their performers? How is it affecting their relationships?
Starting point is 00:20:26 You know, like, because she's got the kids and the Rosita does. And then like there may be some intermingling and just like keeping the love for what you do alive. Yeah, maybe. Maybe the most dramatic one. Back to you. We see the toll this is taken on everyone at home and how it absorbs their lives and they don't have time for meaningful relationships because they're too married to their work and their art. But really when art becomes work, how can you create? And then there's a murder and it's a mystery. There you go. And then Poirot shows up. Kenneth Branagh. Merrill Street. Merrill Street. There we go. This is what the kids but I'm very happy
Starting point is 00:21:06 that this will continue like this was again both of these movies have been such a lovely surprise because I feel like you know there's a lot of animated stuff that comes out I don't see every animated thing
Starting point is 00:21:15 that comes out obviously as evidence to buy some of these reaction videos but yeah the the first one especially and this one carried through that quality of like what a pleasant surprise this was to me of both
Starting point is 00:21:27 yeah just like enjoyability of the world and the premise and the cast and all that stuff And it's like the right amount of like, yeah, this plays broadly so the kids can obviously enjoy it. But I'm sitting here having a blast. The animation throughout and the light and the color always looks really lovely. The sets look great.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Like I wanted to go see this show. And things too, like hair, you know, has come such a long way fur and stuff like that. You know, I thought the anime, I don't know if it's if I'm just, you know, kind of thinking to the echo chamber of social media posts I've seen over. time but I feel like people kind of doggone illumination because minions are such a you know cultural juggernaut but this was an example of something both of these movies where I was like yeah this is really lovely and I like the traditional of cartoon and comedy this is in but also the tradition of performance and theater this is appealing to as well as somebody who you know loves those things and has been involved in those things so so yeah I am I love these
Starting point is 00:22:27 I think these are lovely whenever sing three happens we'll be there true that because they They've earned our eyes and ears. We will be there. We'll be dripping moist on arrival. And if you'll be there with us, like, comment, subscribe, baby. Right. Leave all the YouTube things. For anybody who's never watched us before just hearing you say, we'll be dripping
Starting point is 00:22:47 moist on arrival. That's right. We don't need to explain ourselves. You heard what he said. We'll be dripping moist on arrival. You heard what I said. And that's what Ron Joxy said. I got some questions for the audience at the end.
Starting point is 00:22:58 What's the best show you've seen in Vegas or a place like that, some kind of big glitzy performance you've been to. What is one song you want on the Sing 3 soundtrack? Ooh. Who is an actor and or singer or both you would like to see added to the Sing 3 cast. Drop all those things in Los Comments. Los Commentos. Los Comentos below.
Starting point is 00:23:25 And we'll catch you next time. Much love to all of you. Sing your hearts out in the comments and we'll catch you next time. Goodbye. Goodbye. Bye. Bye. Bye.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Bye.
