I'm happy to be living in Los Angeles where it's 80 degrees and sunny.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Yeah, very. And I'm happy that what we've chosen to do with our lives is to be inside with no windows. I know, I know. Not just kidding. It's the best thing that we ever could possibly do because we love movies and we're excited to watch this one with you. You guys, we are. Grateful to be able to do it and thankful that you guys have been such supporters of the Sheejects. We are going to be watching Sinisters and we're going to be doing that in three, two, one.
Starting point is 00:01:50 All right, Reject Nation, we just watched Sinister and it had a really happy ending. All as well that ends well, am I right? Yep. No, it did not. At least, I don't know if you guys have seen the other ending that pissed me off recently, but at least this one didn't piss me off that kind of way. Nope. Never seen her like that before in my life. But let us know how you guys felt about it.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Leave a like, comment, subscribe, all that good stuff. If you're on Apple, Spotify, don't forget, five stars. I read everything you guys have to say. So be kind. And I tell Tara about the kind one. So otherwise it will never get to her. Yeah. So be cool.
Starting point is 00:02:33 You know who is cool? Prepper. Thanks for helping to edit us down. Movies like this are very difficult because there's a lot of scary stuff going on that the tubes of you do not like. So we appreciate you prepper. We also appreciate our patrons. Patreon.com slash a real rejects. Couldn't do it without you guys.
Starting point is 00:02:48 You guys help not only keep the lights on, but always constantly upgrade the channel by upgrading the place that we are, all the things that we do. And buying our merch. Yeah. So the thing about it over there is that Greg and John covers us exclusively.
Starting point is 00:03:02 You get discounts on our merch. Rejectnation shop.com. You also get to sync up with your own copy and you get all that good juice. So if you're not a patron already, really highly considerate, that's where all the, what are they, royal rejects? Yeah, the royals. Righteous?
Starting point is 00:03:17 No, the royals. Royal. The royals are. That's where the cool kids go. Yeah. That's what I'll call them. And other than that, we appreciate you joining us for what I think is still horror Thursday.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Yeah. I think we're the only ones with the day of the week anymore. And that's a she-ject original. Hell yeah. That's us, baby. All right. Tara, we are going to get to some Patreon questions, because that's how we do our reviews now.
Starting point is 00:03:42 We lead our reviews with the questions you guys have. But before we do that, just brief thoughts in general on Sinister. Yeah, I loved it. I really like that the boogeyman came in at the end, scared the pants off me. I like how much this movie just keeps you guessing. Is it real? Are they there physically? Is it in his head?
Starting point is 00:04:01 Is it the boogeyman? Like, what are we seeing? And it was really only like, as you mentioned, an hour in, that his face turns in the computer and we're like what in the holy tamale. I like how smartly it's right now you're holy tamallying left right all over the place. And the connections of like oh if they lived in the killers of the people who died house before and then they move and then it's their time to go. I like that. I like the writing and obviously Ethan Hawke's 10 out of 10 so this was a good time. I'm superdiver with you. I am I was really into
Starting point is 00:04:37 this movie almost immediately. Yeah. And the only reason I thought it might be a supernatural thing is because you take the guy who does Dr. Strange, you take the guy who does black phone and you're like, all right, where did this guy come from? Yeah. This makes perfect sense. Like, you could see how Scott Derrickson went from this to his other projects. It just, it's so up his alley. I think they're really smart about how they spent their budget on this movie.
Starting point is 00:05:00 They gave us that one major star. They gave us a reason why some of the lights aren't on some of the times. They gave us a reason why we are limited to the amount of location. that we're using and why we're staying inside. And I think that all those things just voted really well for this. I do feel like sometimes it's okay to not fully know, but I still can't really describe what happened in this movie. Like if you were like what, so who is the boogeyman?
Starting point is 00:05:27 I would be like, you know, creepy looking dude who can transfer from technology to not and like an inside your head and whatever. I don't fully understand the rules of the boogeyman. But it didn't really matter because he's crazy. creepy as shit. Yeah. And it made sense enough that it was like this lore that was told to us by who we reached out to the professor, um, who told us like, this is what the, the lore is and that he eats kids
Starting point is 00:05:51 and is taking him with the soul. So good enough for me. I thought that was really an interesting explanation and it made for a very creepy movie. So really enjoyed it. Let's see what the patrons have to ask us. And we'll go from there. Jayden Rhodes. Thank you, Jaden.
Starting point is 00:06:04 This is one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Insanely creepy tapes will always send chills down my spine. This movie is on record for being the scariest movie of all time, and it was the lawnmower scene that put it there. But the one that makes me feel the most uneasiness is easily either the opening or the drowning one. But I'm curious out of all the tapes, which one makes you feel the most uneasy?
Starting point is 00:06:28 What does it mean that this is on record of being the scariest movie all time? What record? It was really scary. Yeah, it was. It was creepy for sure. And Tara screamed a few times. Yeah, I did.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Like pretty loud. Uh, you're, Tara's Googling right now is sinister on record for being the scariest movie. We'll see. Um, uh, okay, the results. I mean, I'm a with you. I think the lawn. The results are giving us Reddit, so I don't know. Yeah, it's taken, it's taken a long time.
Starting point is 00:06:58 But, um, yeah. Okay. There are a lot of people who, sinister title, number one, most scariest movie of all time. And by experts in a new science. experiment in October of 2025. That's interesting. Listen, like, wow.
Starting point is 00:07:15 Somebody who's covered a ton of horror on the channel, myself and terror included, I will say for me personally, I found terror fire to be scary, is more of a scary type of movie for me. I also found human centipede to be so, so horrifying. But this is, what was the other,
Starting point is 00:07:35 oh, in the Evil Dead franchise, I think it was really, really freaky. Yeah. I do understand why somebody would say this is the scariest. And I do think it was excellently done. So I could see that. Which are the tapes that you made you feel the most uneasy? Well, I think I was going to say, maybe lawnmower.
Starting point is 00:07:51 I know you're asking for the next one. I mean, I guess people just burning them up in the car and they were still kind of like awake. Mine was the pool. Drowning is a huge thing. Like to be drugged and then drowning and then to watch that was. It's tough. Each one of them was really unique and horrible. I think that's what made it the scariest is those films and that they were so realistic.
Starting point is 00:08:14 They play on our fears. Like some people are afraid to burn to death. Exactly. To drown. Some to be haunted. Like everything that you've ever been afraid of. Yeah. It's shown to you.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Really good. You want to hit us with J.Dell? Yeah. If you were Ellison and discovered those disturbing film reels in the attic, do you think curiosity would make you keep watching or do you have stopped the moment you realize the footage was connected to real murders? I feel like Rossi would be like, cops! I definitely would keep watching.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Yeah. And, you know, I'm, to be fully transparent, I've never called the cops before. That's not like, I'm not like a let me call the cops. Right. If I, that's in my attic and I have children. Scary. And I know that they're trying to solve a murder and they've claimed they've done everything. Even if it's just to say like fucking told you so, you guys haven't looked up, barked
Starting point is 00:09:00 of everything. I'm calling them. I'm calling them. So I'm probably watching. But I'm saying I don't trust you guys anymore. If you guys want to watch this, you guys have to come here and watch at my place. we're watching together. Like I want to, so, but yeah, I would watch,
Starting point is 00:09:12 but I would definitely alert the authorities. What about you? I, I, um, okay, here's the thing. I think I would stop it right away because I'd be too scared and be like, this is freaking me out, and then I would have to finish it.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Okay, I'm with you. It's bad, but yeah, that's it. The ADHD overlord des Chijs. That's us. This is the best sound design of any horror movie of the time, in my opinion, which sound was the one that made you want to be tough at the time of the most lulls. Probably the little girls counting one, two, or whatever that.
Starting point is 00:09:47 I hated that. The growling thing was creepy too. There was something else earlier on that really freaked us out. I agree the sound design was excellent. We talked about it during a little bit. And it's like subtle, like the projector. And then it was like the snake, but it didn't sound like it, like, like, There was some shit in here.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Yeah, I agree. I agree. Because the film movie was so dark and also because we're watching a lightroom so it was even darker, all we had to go off at times was sound. So it was like, where the fuck is that coming from? When the box dropped or like things like that. That was scary. Really, really well done. All right, Master Tea.
Starting point is 00:10:27 I found this movie to be one of the creepiest movies I've ever seen. It gives you an uncomfortable feeling the whole movie. Do you ladies agree or disagree? Yeah. You know, I'm so glad that you, that. that you and Master T and Jane, I definitely thought it was creepy, but I'm surprised. You guys are usually pretty harsh critics at home,
Starting point is 00:10:44 like, in terms of, like, how much you tolerate how scary something is. A lot of times we'll think something scary, and you guys were like, that wasn't that scary. But you guys all being like, this is so scary. Right. I feel like maybe because supernatural stuff isn't the scariest stuff for me,
Starting point is 00:10:59 it's more like the real life stuff. That's super fucking scary. I agree. While this was scary, this was not a top five most scary. movies I've watched for the channel. No, I think, I mean, it would be up there, but I do agree when Roxy brought up Terror FIRE, I don't want to even, I'm like, one, two, and three. Like, one, two, and three.
Starting point is 00:11:21 And you would not have lasted for human centipede. You wouldn't have lasted, Tara. They could not. I would, if they put me on that, I say, just fire me. Just fire me. What are you even thinking? I can't believe Greg put himself on it. I can't.
Starting point is 00:11:34 I know, there's a bit of tap. What kind of a person? cuckoo banana's person. And I do agree, you know, like she said, she was in on it this movie. Like, we were sold from the very first, like, opening scene. And I agree. The way that they opened it up and you're kind of looking at that VHS tape and then just immediate harsh cut to like the house, the framing of the house.
Starting point is 00:11:58 And we get the story right away. And it puts you in that place and does a really good job of it. So I do agree that it is one of the. the creepiest movies. But I just, yeah, I found it. It might be in top five for me, but I don't know. I found it to be more compelling than creepy at times. I agree with that.
Starting point is 00:12:17 I really was trying to solve the mystery. Me too. Read like a book to me. We were trying to figure it out. Yeah. Is it sci-fi? Is that guy real? Like, yeah. Totally.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Captain Fernandez. Sorry, Captain Fernandez. I do that's your name every time. Sinister co-writer C. Robert Cargill said this movie was inspired, by a nightmare he had while after watching the ring. Either of you pick up on the ring influences while watching the movie. Yeah, the second that we see him come through the screen or go into the screen at the end, it was very Samara-coded for sure.
Starting point is 00:12:50 I could see some of that. And with the long hair for both the kids, especially the daughter. And honestly, the son, too, when it was like hanging in front. Yeah. Very, very. Oh, when he comes out of the freaking box backwards. Yeah, yes, that too. Oh, no, thank you.
Starting point is 00:13:07 Yeah, exactly. So that makes sense. And I, The Ring is one of the only horror movies I watched as a kid that or when I was young that I like remember that one, remember. And you as a kid, Rossin, that'll mess you up as a kid. Whenever it came out. So no, I wasn't that young. I mean, I was probably like a teenager. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:13:25 What year at the Ring? It came out like 2003 or something. Let's see. Did you watch it for the channel? 2002. Yeah. So I was 11. I was 11 when it came out.
Starting point is 00:13:36 I saw it. when it came out and that it definitely I was like oh my God. All right. Final question. Jay Russian. Yes. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Do you guys remember the start of the VHS tapes and what do you think of the 8 millimeter tapes? Oh, you're asking us if we remember we don't, we're not gonna, we're not that old to remember the start of VHS tapes. But yeah, I do remember watching stuff on VHS tapes. The start of VHS tape?
Starting point is 00:14:05 Yeah, like. Jay. Yeah, like, what? What? We're not 70. What? Get out of here with that. And what do we think of the eight? Hold on. When did?
Starting point is 00:14:13 Don't even, you don't even. It's going to be like the 60s and 70s. It's going to be old. It may be in the 50s. 1970s. Yeah, see. Yeah, exactly. No, we don't remember the start of that.
Starting point is 00:14:26 I remember the start of them. Man. And the 8 millimeter use in this is great, but I don't, I especially. It's a bit of an upsetting question, Jay. Tell me about. Listen, nothing wrong with remembering that. She wants to go on strike and not answer anything that you ever ask again. That's honestly what I was thinking.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Jay. Do you remember the start? If he had just said, do you remember VHS tapes? Yes. He had to add in the start. Wow, oh, wow, Jay. Have you really dug your own grave here today? Be kind.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Please rewind. And that's my advice to you. And eight millimeters even before that, I think. But he didn't say. Do you remember the start? No. He said, what do you think? I think in the movie it's fun because we get to see him splicing and I get it, put it together.
Starting point is 00:15:14 And that's useful for us because in a digital world, we wouldn't have been able to do that. You know, like it wouldn't have caught on fire that all that juice, right? I'm not giving Jay more time on this. I said what I said. Be, Pecline, please rewind. That's what I got for you. Tara, any final sinister thoughts? No, this is a great one.
Starting point is 00:15:35 I loved it, good times. What's the most sinister thing you've ever done? Don't answer that question. Then we'll have to call the cops. Oh, and I did want to say one thing. I shouted out during the movie, but rest in peace to the guy that played the cop in this,
Starting point is 00:15:51 James Ranson, who so, so talented, gone too soon. You said that multiple times. I have no idea what you're talking about. Well, look it. Get up. It would be early 2000s. Yeah, I love that movie. I've seen it a thousand times.
Starting point is 00:16:05 I don't know who. I think I went psycho and I think maybe he's not the guy. Who do you think he is in bringing it on? I thought he was one of the guys in that in that movie. Nope. Then I'm, I got a big stuff. I don't see it,
Starting point is 00:16:15 but I don't know. Maybe it's non-credited or something. RIP though. Yeah. He was great. Yeah, and he did excellent in this. And, you know,
Starting point is 00:16:23 I think in a movie like this, you want to toe the line between like, could you be back? Could you? And he was so earnest. And I just thought he did, yeah, a really, really great job.
Starting point is 00:16:31 As did the wife and the kids and everybody involved. So. Agreed. Great performances across the board. Thanks for watching, Sinister with us. Let us know what you want the Cheejects to cover next. We'll see you next time. Later, Rejects.
