It's a nasal allergy spray that I've been a loyal customer to for quite some time now.
Tell you more about them and just a little bit re-eagnation.
Now, Andrew, tell him something.
Anything.
Something, anything.
No, I just, I love, as you pointed out, I love the first movie so much.
I think Jim Carrey was even my favorite part of the first movie.
Yeah, he was great.
But just everything, the storyline, how emotionally invested I got in the film, the family dynamic,
and also just the visual is just everything.
So I'm hoping we can get a repeat of that in this film,
but we shall find out.
We will find out.
Let's watch Sonic Hedgehog 2.
Whoa.
Project Shadow.
What is this?
Shadow!
What is Shadow?
Shadow.
Oh, tell the, what is Shadow?
Again, he's also, he's very similar to Knuckles, Taylor.
And then he's, again, I don't know the backstory and the history, but I do know the actor who's going to be voicing him in the new movie, which I won't spoil for you.
Oh, don't say it.
I will not say it.
Okay.
You're going to love it.
It's one of the nicest most amazing human beings on the planet Earth.
Wow.
That's the only hint I shall give you.
Don't spoil it in the comment section.
Tara does read it.
Please let her enjoy it.
Let me have it, you guys.
You might have to stay away from the comments section on this one until we react to the third one.
Just to be on the safe side.
Yeah.
Well, give them your thoughts on this.
I really enjoyed it.
Let me preface with saying, again, it was a lot of fun.
I loved everything about it.
I probably, again, just right now in the heat of the moment,
I think I liked the first one a little bit better.
Having said that, I still really enjoyed this one.
I did like the way Robotnik was used a little more in the first one.
Yeah.
And Jim Carrey's performance even.
Again, I still enjoyed the way it was done here.
I love his obsessive nature again.
And again, just how funny he was and still likable.
Yeah.
It did get a little outlandish, but that's part of the character and in general,
in the cartoon and in the video game.
So it's meant to be that way.
But having said that, I still had a lot of fun.
I love the character growth and the arc that Sonic goes on in this film about learning
about responsibility and what it takes to be a real hero.
Yeah.
I love the juxtaposition of his character and with, I was about to say shadow,
and with knuckles.
Yeah.
I thought that was interesting.
also that he has a tragic back story as well that we learned about.
And then also that it was his people who took the long claw, right?
I believe that.
That's interesting too.
Now when you rewatch the first one, you're going to know that those are Knuckles people.
And now when you rewatch that first scene and, you know, there's a lot of emotional layers just in that in general.
So I, and I thought Idraselba did such a phenomenal job, not only bringing the menacing, you know, voice to that role, but also the
tragic backstory. I really felt that too from his character and the sense of being
backstabbed by Robotic, even though it was very predictable, which is fine. You know that
Robotic is a very arrogant backstabbing type of character. I just, I felt bad for him even in the
moment. But again, having said that, I love that we got to see him, Tales and Sonic turn into a
family with Tom and his wife that was just so heartfelt. And also too, one of the biggest
strengths of the first film that I love the most on top of the visuals and all the other
great stuff that we're going to get into in this film was the relationship between Sonic and Tom.
Now, we don't get a ton of time to spend with that because that was one of the bigger focal
points in the first film is Sonic and Tales. And I thought they really nailed that relationship
and the chemistry between the two of them. And all the interactions were great and fun and them
spending time with each other and getting to know each other and building off of each other.
And I just thought it was all so much fun, starting with that dance off in Siberia.
That was a lot of fun.
Yeah.
And then also, too, the nice heartfelt warm moment we got with the fire.
And also, too, and all the battles and stuff, too.
And just how much you saw that Sonic grew to care from.
Yeah, they grew together a lot.
Yeah.
And also, too, I thought, like, you know, Tales is a little bit on the same kind of journey with Sonic.
Sonic was very lonely in the first film and looking for, you know, a bond and connection.
And now, same kind of thing with Tales here in this film.
I'm also like warning Sonic and kind of had his eyes on Sonic just from all the events of
the first film.
So again, I just found myself, you know, really getting connected with those characters emotionally
and just obviously I have nostalgic with these characters just from the video game
and the anime series of the little I do remember.
But this film also, even if I hadn't played or watched those things, I really was pulled
in even from this film as well.
I agree because it's the same thing with Knuckles once we get to his backstory.
He was left alone as a little tight.
and that that also brings him into kind of the same backstory that you said like sonic and tales have right he was probably pretty lonely didn't really speak up about it because he was kind of on a bad team and then went to be like oh all right i guess i'll go with these guys he's still a little bit hardened and doesn't understand like real life as we saw like in on the baseball field like he's still very much like knuckles but i would be very intrigued to see what would happen in the next movie and
with knuckles to see if he's warmed up to that family oriented life like with all three of them how cool
would that be to see and like the dog wakes them all up and like maybe when when sonic goes to bed
tails is still like his blanket i just i think it was really really sweet and like so heartfelt when
they all are when they're sitting there with his mom and his dad behind the truck and they they
It reminded me of Toy Story 4 where I was like sobbing, where they're like, they say goodbye to
each other right before they think they're going to die.
And then obviously that doesn't happen, but that was a really great heartfelt moment
that I really felt.
And it was, and it makes it even stronger when he calls him dad at the end.
Absolutely.
We were waiting for that because even though he's like, can you, I thought you were my friend,
like, instead of just my dad.
And you could tell James Marge didn't do really good job of like kind of giving a look like that hurt him and then talking to him about it's more about your responsibility and becoming a true hero and you're still just a kid.
Yeah.
And he took that to heart, you know, at the end of realizing I have a lot to learn.
I still have to grow up.
Absolutely. No, that's a great call by you.
Obviously, we know Sonic is not going to actually be fatally injured.
But even in that moment when it happens, it's so hard.
It's so beautifully delivered. The acting is great. Obviously, I think it's Ben Schwartz, the voice of song. Give him credit as well as James Martson. I apologize for forgetting the actress who plays James Martson's wife. She's fantastic too. Yeah. That moment is so beautiful and impactful. You're not even thinking about the fact that they're probably not going to be annihilated in that moment. But again, it's just such a beautifully done moment. It's so beautifully delivered that you really feel it. Yeah. It brings home that family dynamic because they're like, we're a family.
Absolutely.
Yeah. But also, too, I love that you pointed out that it's going to be interesting in the next film because even though they are a family now with Knuckles, Sonic, and Tails, the contrast between Sonic's humor and Knuckles more stoic, serious nature.
Yeah.
And also, too, he's really, and again, you can make the case, too, that Tails is a fish out of water and not really knowing how Earth works.
He's more of like the listening and I will do whatever you say type of character.
Yeah. And sweeter.
Yeah. Yeah. And also.
knuckles is more i'm gonna i don't take ship from anyone i'm just gonna do my thing type of attitude
even though i am part of the family it's gonna be fun to see the how those interactions work in the
third film now that they are an actual family together too but i'm also looking forward to seeing like
again i'm gonna read a little more on the backstory just because i don't remember much as i pointed
out 10 000 times in regards to shadow i don't think it's gonna spoil anything because
obviously the film hasn't come out but i'm gonna read a little bit on the backstory of that character
um but it was fun going kind of into this blindly
because I didn't really, like I said, I didn't even remember. I didn't even remember when you were saying that his
Tails was a girl that I didn't even remember Tails was a boy. Yeah, it just sounded like a girl to me and I didn't play the game. So I'm like, yeah, no, no, no. And also too, it was an actress who was voicing him. So that's why I probably figured might have been a girl. But again, it's been so many years. But if you guys want to rip me in the comments go for it, I don't, it's all good. But I'm glad we got that one awesome quicksilver-esque X-Men Days of Future Pass where we slow down time and let's
I know. That's what you're saying.
We only got one of those.
One is better than none.
And one is still great.
And the other one we got like two.
Two or three of them.
But again, if you only give me one, I'm happy about that.
And the way it was done, it was awesome, executed a perfection because it's done in a
situation that feels impossible for Sonic to overcome the odds.
It's like, you know, an obstacle.
We're like, how's you going to do this?
Oh, wait.
He's got speed on his side, obviously.
But the way it's done, it's creative.
It's inventive and fun.
And I loved it very much.
That was the series I was talking to you about.
Oh, okay. Got it. I don't know when that takes place if that's after or before.
I'm assuming after is my guess. But I would love to do that series with you. That would be great.
If our adoring audience would like that. Yeah, because there's only six episodes. So maybe leading up into Sonic 3 we could do that or yeah.
That would be cool. And like what I was thinking is when they were at the bar, I was like, well, it would be stealing a page out of the first one's book to see that slow mo again because that was one of my favorite.
slowmos in the first one.
I loved it.
And, um, but that would take away, I think from the reveal of tales and her like duplicity
of like being everywhere, right?
And that was like the big like, oh, wow, she could do that.
I'm like, all right.
Awesome.
That's a very, very cool power.
Um, and we knew like once we saw it, it'll come back again.
And it did in her helping them take down robotnik.
And it was a great when they came together with that, the game plan.
And I am still.
like oh man why didn't they add in a second slow mo but once he gets with them it's it's mostly
sonic is in the slowmos and they can't we can't really display the other characters in that right we
we can't really have them all be involved so i wasn't mad at it because the the slow mo happened when
he was snowboarding it was just sonic before everything came together so i actually in thinking it through
i appreciate it and that the other characters are more brought to light because we wouldn't really
probably be able to see them as much in those slow-moes.
For sure. No, it would have been cool to get another slow-mo, but I was so happy that
we even got one. But again, it would have been totally cool. We'd get another one. Also,
I was just thinking as well in regards to Sonic's character development about learning
responsibility and what it takes to be a hero. Yeah. I also felt, too, he learned, like,
what it took to in regards to sacrifice. And what I mean by that, like, he was willing to
sacrifice his life to save Knuckles when Knuckles was drying because he didn't know how to swim.
He didn't even know if Knuckles would save him. So doing that. And then also, too,
in that moment where he was being a distraction, rather,
for when Dr. Robotic had the Emerald Power
and he was relying on teamwork and ingenuity
in regards to knuckles and tails
to come up with that game plan of stopping them.
He didn't know, like, if they were going to stop them in time,
he was willing to, you know, be a pawn in that situation.
So I just, again, I think that played a big part
in his character development,
part of being a hero and responsibility was that sacrifice.
That's what makes him the true hero in those moments.
He sought responsibility for,
knuckles, sacrificing his life.
Same thing, like you said, going against Robotnik, he's doing that.
I just think it adds a little more layer to the film.
It gives it a little more of a deeper meaning to his character rather than, oh, here's
this little animated film or a video game film and we're not, we're going to make it visually
cool, but there's not going to be a ton of depth to it.
And I think, no, it's a little bit deeper than, you know, some might give it credit for,
or at least that I would originally give it credit for for just being a video game type.
the movie. Absolutely. It has way more emotional depth that it takes you, even if you didn't,
like you said, play the games or know anything about this and you're just going into this movie,
it has a lot of heart, especially the way they wrap it up at the end and them all becoming a family,
them changing the tune of Knuckles, even though he was kind of on the bad side. And at first,
I really liked that flip because Idris Elba's voice is still like kind of evil when you hear him
talk. So when he put together, yeah, menacing. When he put.
back together the emerald and he's like well i have it what do we do with it i kind of was like
wait is he going to run away with that now and i like that it was just it that's just his voice and
but it also i think they did it in a way that it's like let's keep him on their toes to see is
is he going to run away with that emerald now because he's been seeking it and he just so was like
what will we do and that's when they became a team when tails just grabbed it so easily from him
he didn't freak out yeah and that that power bump at the end i i i i i
I loved it, but my favorite is like when he called him, when he called him dad and they're all
getting in the truck and his truck is Sonic Blue and you're like, this is great.
Like, what a great family.
Asked a pro and go.
It's faster, bro.
Ladies and gentlemen, I got so excited.

Thank you. Yeah. I loved it. I'm excited to see the third one, but uh, let's do some trivia.
Yeah. Trivia. Okay. So Colleen O'Shaunisei, I hope I pronounced that right, is the only voice
cast member from the Sonic the Hedgehog games to reprise her role for the films it's just
unbelievable and joyous and beautiful and amazing Colleen told the rap all the excitement and love
I've received from the fans has been so gratifying with all these tweets telling me that they were
hoping that I would get to play tales in this film wow they've had my back and have been so
supportive since the beginning wait that means she was the voice in the game yeah I believe
wow cool a small hologram of Sonic
is shown he is standing still and tapping his foot this is what would happen in the original
oh yeah when he did his top foot okay if you didn't control him and just left him standing
yeah that's him telling you the player like um wait can you play me please yeah jim carrie said
that he enjoyed exploring robotic at his advanced evil side saying and i quote i really had fun
thinking about how that could manifest with his voice speaking like a synthesizer just because he
thinks it's fun you know it is really messing with people's minds and creating the gigantic
robotic robot out of the scraps of their lives.
It was really a fun thing to do, really a cloud of, uh, what's this word, egoic?
Egoic ecstasy.
Egoic ecstasy.
Really? Wow.
I've never heard that word egoic.
I'm sure that's the word coy knows.
He knows every word in the dictionary.
Right.
Jim Carrey, bro.
Yeah.
Colleen O'Shanna say, who voices, uh, tails, nearly cried when she finally met Jim Carrey.
She went up to him to introduce herself and assumed he didn't know who I was.
She said, hi, I'm Colleen.
I play tales.
He grabbed both of my hands and bent over and went, I know.
And it was so sweet.
He had the sweetest smile on his face.
And I was like, I'm going to cry.
And I know he said something after that.
And I'm sure I said things too.
But I have no idea beyond that, what either was said.
She said, yeah, it makes sense.
If Jim Carrey looks to you in the eye and says, I know who you are.
You're like, I'm blacked out.
Your heart is racing.
Your heart is racing.
Exactly.
Yeah.
No, when you meet someone that you're very like, just like, like, you're a big fan of.
Yeah.
You have a lot of respect.
Totally.
Totally.
Yeah.
Well, not the first time he has lost his rings in the films.
The way Sonic loses them scattered out of his bag is similar to the usual way when...
He lost him in San Francisco.
Well, not only that, but also in the games.
Oh.
When he gets hit.
Okay.
Yep.
Idris Elba, a dedicated fan of video games, said that getting to play Knuckles was mind-boggling.
As Elba explained, you and I remember those first early games.
And now here we are.
Our sons are like, wow, I can see Sonic 2 with my dad.
That's special.
that is cool yeah tails flying a red aeroplane and the movie is similar to the one he flies in
the games i was thinking that that's like from the games okay even with sonic standing on top of
the wings yep okay let's get to some spoilers is there any one more and then the spoilers okay
okay one more oh i did i did call this i called this one uh so near the end of the movie agent stone
holds up an instruction manual similar to that found in a saga game boxes like the mega drive
It can also be seen that the Sega logo is visible.
Oh, yeah.
You said the egg clearly spells egg rather than Sega.
Yeah.
I was like, I knew that looks familiar.
Totally.
Yeah, yeah.
Wasn't like a big thing I called out, but it did look familiar.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's go to the spoilers.
I'll read like two really quick ones if I can get to it because there's so much trivia.
Spoilers.
If I read all this trivia, we'd be here all night.
Oh, my God.
All right.
Let's pick out a good one here.
Spoilers, I found it.
The film's plot.
is based on Sonic the Hedgehog
and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the video games,
where Sonic and Tales must stop Dr. Robotnik
who has gotten his hands on the master emerald
and has tricked knuckles into aiding him against them.
Obviously, I probably played those games.
Again, guys, it was 1999-193.
I just don't remember them.
I was even born yet.
Am I that much older than you, cheese?
Tara.
Okay, we'll do one more.
Ooh, this one got a lot of likes.
Oh, so did this one.
Oh, Jason Mamoa was originally offered the voice role of Knuckles,
but had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Mamoa is being considered for the role of Shadow for the third film.
Oh.
He didn't get it, obviously, because I already know who's the voice of Shadow, which I won't tell you.
And again, stay away from the comments, even though I do trust you people.
I just don't want you to accidentally get spoiled.
Yeah.
Oh my goodness. Good old Jason. He was doing Aqua.
All I'll say is you made a reference to Toy Story 4. I'll just say that.
Yeah. Oh! Okay. That gives me a little bit of juice there. All right.
That's all I shall say.
That's all right. Guys, make sure that you like this. You share this if you want us to keep doing or go into the series or Knuckles or just all the things.
I would love to do. Please tell us.
Coming up, share it, like it.
We love you guys so much.
Thank you for joining us on this journey.
You guys are the best.
I wish I could like make them do the effect, but make it super fast.
Like it was like, shoot, but a blue heart for Sonic.
Yeah, for Sonic juice.
Blue, red and gold.
We would love it.
Okay, guys, we will see you on the next one.
Bye.
Ricardo Martinez.
My friend, I want to wrap you up into a sweet, tasty corn burrito.
Ooh.
I just want to eat you.
I want to dip you in some hot salsa.
Definitely.
I want to take your blood and make nacho guacamole cheese out of it.
That's a spicy meatball.
I want to take your farts and compose them into black beans.
Yep.
You know, make the most of all the foods you've been.
eaten in the past. I want to take your flesh and turn it into carnesada.
Karnay attinez. I want to take babble classes and learn Spanish so that way you can understand
what I'm finally saying to you. Oh, dude, Spanish shoutouts next month. And shouting you out so long
and this entire time, I'm like, this is falling on deaf ears. He doesn't speak English. Oh,
What?
Did you even say just now?
I'm sorry, okay?
Because right now, no, habla Española.
Oh, no.
I am so sorry, and it took me months to nail that.
And that's why I sound so fluent when I say it.
And I apologize that this entire time, John and I keep shining you out, but you have no clue.
Like, right now, I'm still doing it.
I'm still doing it.
Wow.
And you're just there with your arm and you're just politely smiling, like everyone I hire to work here at the place.
just politely smiling him yeah but you don't know what i'm saying and we make sure there aren't
subtitles during this part of the video specifically see because i i believe in being an inclusive
individual okay like i support all races and i want to show people that racism is wrong and
bad tis that's why i always go to home depot to hire workers to help us because i'm giving
them an opportunity and burritos and burritos as well i always i'm always like all right i'm assuming
all of you are 100% mexicans so i am going to take you to taco bell right now because i
i care to make sure that i'm not representing this other evil side of america so i hope that
i'm assuming you're probably like still living with your mom right now and the rest of your
family because you've got a Latino name and that's just what you go right you're a whole extended
family I hope that they're able to translate for you what I'm saying to you right now yeah
because otherwise you're all going to be confused I just want you know that I I I care not to
be insensitive to you but I'm running for president oh oh that's a good idea I think they need people
like me they too they need
The man of the people.
The man of all the people.
And I'm that one.
Man of the specifically 100% Mexican people.
So, uh,
Felice Navidad.
Elis Navidad and, and, and, uh,
camplianos, et cetera.
Bye.
Happy Kinsenia.
