Seriously, I love them.
More on them after the reaction.
I got nothing else to say to the people except...
Oh.
Let's watch in three, two, one, Spider-Man.
I like that there's a credit for just the voice of OzCorp.
It wasn't like a... like the voiceover of the tech company?
I guess it must be.
I missed it. Like, where would that have been?
Either way.
Either way. Uh...
gang war episode gang war is very common in spider man uh it's something i've won i feel like
sony at the level of like making the movies writing the scripts and like especially the PR side
gets and love spider man i feel like whoever runs the very tippity top of spider man doesn't want a
gang war movie but the rest of us do yeah and that was a great example yeah um two episodes
very different and i really like that the we've often had the two episodes kind of parallel this
was the opposite where they couldn't have been more different uh but that shows spider man like
the difference between like a singular villain like Venom and a full-on gang war in one episode
that juggled so many villains, so many different tones, also moved the plot along, as did
the Venom episode. Those were great. Yeah, absolutely. I love the dual hot potatoes of like
Spider-Man's identity being probed, potentially revealed, then going to the next episode,
a physical, just like MacGuffin challenge, basically. And then to have it end up that it's, yeah,
not even the real one. I thought it was, yeah, really fun. And, yeah, it adds to the whole, like, greater, like, ooh, grand master scheme, adding to the villainy of Norman Osborne that's been long just stating across the show. And, yeah, like, to go from one super personal, very sort of vendetta-oriented episode to just, like, a big old kind of free-for-all. I mean, it does narrow down to a few specific players, Sable and Hammerhead, namely, and then Rhino comes in. But, like, still, you know, it does feel like a big, sort of broad,
all-encompassing or broadly encompassing situation.
And I like this sort of shadowy, you know, auction scenario, kind of...
Doc Ock playing off sides.
Osborne, shown to be still a villain.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And that's the thing.
It's like there's so much in the second episode,
especially so much whiz-bang and so much action and stuff like that.
But they did take time for those little details.
And that first episode, that's some of the best action I've seen in a Spider-Man cartoon.
Like that first, the Venom episodes in my top, like three episodes of the series so far.
I think they really made a new Venom story playing with a lot of the Venom lore.
Like he's always in the shadows, but then can throw down.
He's always trying to like break him psychologically.
The vendetta is between both Eddie and Peter and Venom and Spider-Man.
And they really did a good job making the hate be what fuels them while also being so manipulative.
It felt very much like two specific Venom arcs.
It felt like the ultimate Venom, but also felt very specifically like Todd McFarlane's venom.
Because he always made Venom so like, he like stalks Mary Jane to get it.
Peter Parker, like, he, like, makes her terrified
to the dark and, like, literally
makes her psychologically traumatized
to show Peter that he can.
And that felt very, like, McFarlane's venom.
And then ultimate venom, obviously,
being the Eddie Brock growing up together
with Peter Parker.
Like, they did a really good job blending those,
but I really liked that they use the gene cleanser
to make it, like, a separation,
because it kind of makes sense that if your genes
themselves were affected by the symbiate, the bond,
you could separate the two.
So I liked that use of that kind of, you know,
Chekhov's McGuffin from
earlier season one.
So that first fight, all that
cinematography was dope. I was really impressed with the overall
style. I love the interstitials of
you know, the Peter Parker is.
Yeah.
interviewing everybody to try and figure out
who he is or if he is Peter.
The Flash, again, that's a Steve
Dickko, Stan Lee era story where Flash
is kidnapped and Spider-Man.
Like they did so much in that episode.
And then the next episode, like Gang War,
there's a few iconic
gang war stories, but one's a full-on.
arc that takes place in
I want to say
73 to 75
and it's like across the pages of
Peter Parker Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man
and it's like a full-on
event and they captured a lot of that tone
here making it feel large
in life making it feel like more than one episode
felt like a full mini series like they
really between these two episodes showed
the different worlds of Spide
yeah no it's like and we've had
so many great like
because we watch these mostly impairs
we've had so many good complimentary ones
and I thought this one had a nice contrast
between the two because the one is so
personal and they both have a lot
of action in them but yeah one is so
heavily predicated on like the
foundational aspects of Peter and Spider-Man
and all that stuff and then the rest is sort
of the surrounding world
at large you know and I think
that's a really fun combination
just for the luck of our draw
and then to have even
all these little details about like
you know George Captain Stacy
kind of revealing
subtly, but not subtly at all
that he's like...
My students!
My students in criminology class
would learn a thing or two
for a situation like this one.
I realize if someone knew his identity
that he would be in danger.
Yeah, and everybody he knows.
Like, but it's so...
Why was Peter a class alone?
I know.
And under the guy, like,
I guess it's smart.
Again, it just shows
how good of a detective Stacy
is so that he's not dropping the facade.
He's still just,
He's still just treating it like, oh, stay after class.
Stay after him and have a little bit of an extra lecture for you.
And then he lets him know without directly letting him know.
Do not talk to my daughter.
Yeah, pretty much.
And that stuff too.
Like, they even found time to have him.
They had that whole thing where he was having to save Gwen.
And then they wind up in the little heart thing together.
And then Liz is the best.
He's going to break Liz's heart.
I was very torn because Liz Allen in the beginning in the comics, they like, will, they won't they.
She ends up with Harry.
But Liz Allen is.
is the popular girl that kind of, like, uses Peter in that first season.
And then we see that evolution of her, like, growing out of that popular girl, kind of crappy personality into this lovely girl.
And I was like, is it a trick?
Do I?
And then, like, when she's the best ever, because that's way more heartbreaking.
And who's this new girl?
Her patience.
Oh, my God.
Her getting Peter Parker as Spider-Man, but not knowing.
And this little cuteness.
And then MJ's new guy.
Who's that?
Yeah.
Who's that guy?
So many threats to the romantic...
So many romance.
Yeah.
And I mean, I love...
I don't know.
We've talked about this much before.
I'm always delighted when people can work a romance into something or multiple romances, multiple will, they's, won't they's.
And make it feel totally natural and totally of the spirit.
And like, these were such, again, sort of momentous and action-oriented episodes.
They were big.
And yeah, like, especially that first one, we're, like, at school.
for half of it.
So, like, you still feel the rest of the trappings of life.
22 minutes.
It does, like, it's like, he had sonics.
He had fire.
He took him out with a different, like, mechanism.
Yeah, figuring out, like, how to, how to, yeah, disrupt the symbiosis.
We had an hour-long fight also in 22 minutes.
We had, like, we had all this interpersonal stuff and the interstitials.
Yeah.
To this in a movie.
Do it in a movie.
Do it in a movie.
And I love, like, they keep doing this thing with the helicopter and I'm suspending it
between buildings, which is always going to remind me of that teaser.
We were going to get five seasons of this in a movie.
I am hard.
It hurts.
We only have five episodes left.
It hurts my soul.
We've only got one more pair and then a three year.
And then a triple.
Yeah, I know.
I am two more shoots.
Are we going to see Flash's bottom in a midsummer night's dream?
The finale is just a midsummer night's dream.
We just seen the play of Midsever Night's Dream.
One, two, because you've had to Harry Osborne with the more obvious, like, addiction struggle
arc. But here I like that with
Eddie Brock and Venom, like it does
I think there's sort of like a
abusive relationship
commentary happening as well, but it is
a little bit like a junkie thing too where he's
just like being reeled out and he's yeah
he's addicted to he's like
28 days later. Yeah.
But no. We've all been there in our teens.
Yeah, but him being like
carted away and just sort of
still you want his soul
to be reclaimed somehow but it seems like
he's still just like suffering this in
of like, yeah, he cannot
unfixate on Venom.
Who was the voice of Kingsley?
Or in the second episode.
Let's find out, Koi.
Let's see.
Let's sing.
Who do we got?
Andrew.
No, wait, that was a Kingsley,
but it wasn't a Kingsley.
There we go.
Frederick Fuzzle.
James Arnold Taylor.
Courtney B. Vance.
Well done.
Courtney Vance.
Not bad at all.
Hey, Greg Weissman was Minkin.
Not bad.
That's hilarious.
I like that.
Hell yeah.
What a great, and again, I said it a couple episodes ago,
but if you are enjoying this show and our watch of this show,
Greg Weissman is currently writing The Spectacular Spider-Men comic book.
It is not tied to this.
It is, in fact, the first ongoing series of Miles Morales and Peter Parker in a series together.
Damn.
They've done team-up miniseries.
They've done team-up, like, individual.
This is the first series.
It is written by the guy who writes the show,
and it is illustrated by Rimbardo Ramos, who is one of the, like, iconic Spider-Man artist.
So it's cool to see the difference in Miles and Peter working off each.
other it's cool to see them like broan out as Peter and Miles in civilian form like
it is very good I highly recommend it's only an issue 5 like it's it's not even to
the first trade yet it is a very approachable book
Reject Nation some of you guys have been so kind of point out Greg you look like
you've been getting in better shape lately and Greg you look like you've been
pointing that out a lot more than we've been pointing that out lately that's because
I've been getting products that have allowed me to casually mention that but
with all that exercise comes a lot of sweat and let's be honest nobody wants to
smell bad especially when we're in close quarters filming proximity to one
another. That's why I've been using the Mando products. Heard a lot about them and I was like,
please send them my way. And as a vegetarian, it makes me so happy that they are all natural.
They're high quality. And man, do they get the job done? First up, the Mando whole body. There's a little
hair here. Ew, that's gross. The Mando whole body deodorant. It's safe to use anywhere.
Why wouldn't it be it's deodorant? It controls odor for up to 72 hours. Keeps me fresh and
feeling confident. Now my wife finally cuddles with me. This next one I really like. The Mando
Invisible Cream Deodont Pro Sport. Cream is perfect.
for intense workouts. Keeps it dry, smelling great, without residue. My wife finally holds hands with me
in public. This one straight out the shower. The Mando Acidified Cleansing Bar. It's fantastic. 4-1 powerhouse
for shampoo, face wash, body wash, and deodorant. It leaves my skin fresh and clean,
and my wife finally lets me shower in the same shower she uses. I don't have to go to the hotel
anymore. For a quick refreshes, the Mando deodorant wipes. Perfect for on the go, gentle on the
skin. And my wife finally let me meet the in-laws after using them. And lastly, the Mando
body wash. Provides a rich lather and 24-hour odor control. The scent is incredible and leaves my skin smooth.
My wife actually calls me by my name in the bedroom now. If you want to stay fresh and confident, get Mando.

Or did she call me Stephen? That was gross. That was gross. That was
my father's name.
Dude, approach it.
Approach it. Approach the book.
Local comic shop.
Team up with Rhino and get you a copy.
This past Wednesday,
the 17th of July,
issue 5 dropped. That's usually how they're doing trades.
Why, in my day, it was 6, but now it's like 5.
So that means probably two months from now
the first trail will be out, because that first 5
is one storyline. So you can pick it up
as floppies right now, or wait a couple
months in computer as a trade. As floppies.
They call them floppy?
That's what I call.
You can pick them up on a floppy disk.
You can get a floppy, like OzCorp.
You can get an Oscorp floppy disk.
That's what you do.
It's a super floppy disk.
Yeah, it's got jazz drive.
It's got gigs.
Oh, remember jazz drives?
Man, that's a throwback.
We're old.
Zip disc.
And it was so chunky.
I remember it looked like a thick floppy with three seas.
Hey, man, those were satisfied.
They had a lot of...
Satisfy to chunk it in there and turn the thing.
Yeah.
How many megabytes or kilobytes could you get on a single flop?
And the flop just had like my,
my what's it called
dysentery
for Oregon Trail on it
just had to how it died
that's all that's a lot
floppy
it just had disintery
insert the next disc to get
your dysentery and lose the game
in Oregon Trail
that's great
I think that's everything
we cover both apps
we cover all the vibes
we loved it very much
I'm very upset
we've only got five left
we met Hobie Brown
we met Hobie
will Hobie be Prohler
as he is in 616
will Hobie be Spider Punk
as he is in modern mythology
will he be neither
tune in to find out
Well, maybe not because it's five seasons.
They only got to find a no, they're going to answer everything in these next five episodes.
I'm so sad.
That's all that's left.
Don't even trip my dude.
There was something I saw in here.
Oh, I like the idea, finally, to close off.
I don't know.
This whole secret auction thing was cool because it, you know, there's obviously a network of rogues and gang, you know,
gangs and various highly, you know, leveled criminals and whatnot.
But it felt a little bit like, you know, underground secret cabal.
And I like those vibes.
Not that I expect like a full-on, you know,
Spider-Man Court of Al's,
but, you know, it does feel kind of like that
sort of like swanky, criminal underbelly thing
that's pretty intriguing.
Yeah, and I hope that comes to play
again more of the season.
I feel like it will.
Yeah.
I mean, I feel like something like this,
this little gang war has got to have some spillage.
It's going to have some collateral.
Yeah.
So I think that's coming.
That might be the finale.
Big man.
What a show.
What?
a program been enjoying it love me some spectacular spider being enjoying it uh it's real good
leave a comment below let us know what you thought of our thoughts of these episodes which ones did
you like most are we inevitably going to be distraught when this ends in five episodes on a on a
cliffhanger of a two of five seasons and a movie i'm upset i get it now i'm real upset did i'm sorry
to interrupt your my trauma your trauma thanks john disavow them
Did Jonah put up the money for Faswell to, or Faswell as a fair for his fake bid auction thing?
Did he put up like millions of, because when he showed up, they were like, hey, you're, you're, you only got $5 million or whatever.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, your guy pulled all the funds out of your bidding account.
I was like, who's supplying his big bucks for this billing account?
Maybe he's like a hacker, like fake numbers.
Because I did have to have respect for it.
I was like, oh, because it's a gangster.
Because, you know, he's got such a prominent mustache.
You see him in disguise and you're like, I wonder if that's Faswell.
And then it is.
It brings up a good point.
He's in, like, he clearly is good enough to infiltrate this auction.
That's how we got the last Pulitzer.
Who's bankrolling this guy?
Blitzer doesn't pay that much.
And, yeah, if not Jonah, then who?
All right.
Let's find out behind the scenes.
Let us know in the comments below who's bankrolling Faswell or Fasbear.
We're very curious.
That's the secret identity among the cabal.
We will see you next week for episodes 9 and 10.
we lead into the sunset, the spectacular sunset, Spider-Man.
You need something to fill the void already.
Maybe that new bad end show.
Yeah, Cape Crusaders coming on.
Could be the move.
All right, let us know in the comments below if you'd like to watch that as well.
All right, much love, Reject Nation.
We'll see you soon.
