Starting point is 00:01:14 I am Jackie and I'm here with Paige and we are ready to get back into the webs with Spider-Man 3. 3 to 1. All right, Paige. I was going to say how fun and silly this one felt, but I can't because we're both crying now. but that was my initial response. They got us. They got us there at the end. I mean, it was just like a double like, oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:01:57 Like they had the sandman in his conversation where he forgave him for killing his uncle. And then immediately James Ringo died. I was like, oh, my God. Well, even, even Tofer too. And he saved him. He didn't really want him to die in the end. He jumped back in. because Tover just always wanted to be a badass.
Starting point is 00:02:15 A little bit. And he had that same kind of nerdy white guy that Peter always had. But a little more slimy. He was more slimy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because he was already, he already had the slime bag thing before Venom even got him. And I feel like that is what's cool about this was, and you pointed it out a lot, a lot of like parallels. Yes, there were so many characters arcs and like things that were being resolved with Harry than Peter was struggling with, which was, which was.
Starting point is 00:02:41 which was really cool. I think that's an interesting dynamic to see in a superhero movie, for sure, especially the same parallels between the villains and the heroes. It was so interesting. Yeah, that was really well done. Peter Parker having a complete villain arc. Yeah. I had no idea that Peter Parker was villain or was venom.
Starting point is 00:03:03 I had no idea. I didn't know that either. I really, yeah, that was, that was, that was nuts. Yeah, that was cool. I mean, it was a great, how fun for him to get to play that dark side now. Yeah. It was cool. God, all of, like, our main three and then obviously, Tofer was incredible.
Starting point is 00:03:24 The Sandman was incredible. Yeah, even just with this film, our main trio, they had such complex arcs throughout the whole movie. It was all over the place. Like, what, what fantastic writing and what a journey that I felt like we got taken on. It was a journey. It did feel like there was. kind of a lot going on for me. I'll be honest at times though, where I was like, okay, storyline's feeling a little, a little full over overcrowded, I guess. But that would be kind of
Starting point is 00:03:52 my only like a downside. I still say number two was my favorite though. Now that we've completed the series. I was worried. Although, sorry. Oh, no, it's okay. What are you going to say? I was just going to say how fun it was too for him to again do that venom thing and have this whole emo side. like the musical number like so fun and silly and I'm sure that's really great for these comic book like true fans because it felt very silly
Starting point is 00:04:19 in cartoon at times too which some Remy's pretty good at as well yeah oh my God what was I going to say I was just going to say oh yeah I was worried at some points too that it was going to get overfilled but I I sometimes really like that
Starting point is 00:04:36 yeah like you forget for a few minutes and you're like, oh, yeah, Sandman. We haven't heard from him in a while. What was going on with him? I mean, I've always been a fan of, like, my favorite playwright is Kira Allegria Hudes. And she gets a lot of, they say that she stuffs a lot into her plays. And I'm like, well, there's a lot.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Yeah, there's a lot. And it's very complex. And it's very complex. And there's always things going on. And I'm like, well, it's realistic and it's grounded. It's true. New York City is full of crime and crazy things. It didn't.
Starting point is 00:05:04 It's crime. Speaking. we should move on to some questions. But speaking of questions, thank you so much to all of our patrons for some, oh my God, I have, I just like cried my blood. Thank you so much to all of our patrons. Starting point is 00:05:25 There's a bunch of fun perks. John and Greg do some exclusive content. You get, I believe, 15% off of merch. That's right. And you can ask us some questions. and then we'll answer them. And see our whole schedule. See our whole schedule ahead of time,
Starting point is 00:05:41 know what's coming out. You also can sync up. Oh yes, you can sync up and watch the full reaction with us and hear us talk. And cry and sob and watch in real time as I cry off all my blush. Just see the progression. All right,
Starting point is 00:05:59 let's see if we have some questions here. Did you have anything else to say or do you want to go to questions and then we'll do some final? I think I'm good. I enjoyed Gwen Stacy. I could have done with a little more of her, but that's just because I'm a spidey fan myself,
Starting point is 00:06:14 but I think Bryce Dallas was a great. Yeah, she was great. I just, I was so frustrated by Peter's behavior that I was like, get her out of there. Yeah, it's true. They did make her feel like the other woman unfairly, I think. Unfairly. Unfairly.
Starting point is 00:06:29 But I think I liked that she really realized that. Yes, and apologize to Mary Jane and got the hell out of there. Yeah. Right. It makes me, I mean, I don't know if she's in the next ones, but I hope we get some more ghost-p-y-y.
Starting point is 00:06:40 I think this is the last Toby. Yeah, I guess so. But there's more, right? That's his name, Andrew. Yeah, we have Andrew, Andrew Garfield. Hubba, hubba. Hubba. Yeah, that one's a little more hubba for me than Toby, I think.
Starting point is 00:06:55 Yeah, I think so. James was the, well, yeah. Yeah, anyways. All right. Jared Chen asks, Hi, Jackie and Paige. Hi, Jared. Hope you guys are well.
Starting point is 00:07:06 I have a question to ask. you guys, do you guys think the film successfully ends Peter's story or does the film struggle to juggle with all the plot points? Just curious, okay. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I can very much understand that because there is a lot of plot points. For me, it felt it felt okay. Um, again, I think that it made it feel more rounded to me because number two was so much of the, him being human story. So for me, this felt like an okay ending. I guess
Starting point is 00:07:40 in that way it kind of made me happy that we crammed all those villains in there together too because I did wonder where they all were. I will say Doc Op was still my favorite villain though. I know he's awesome. Really? Um, let me think. Let me think. I mean,
Starting point is 00:07:56 we got so much like juicy, juicy character stuff with him, like the struggling with Spider-Man doesn't kill the ego from the huge ego that he was wrestling with. And we get to wrap up his storyline with his best friend. And finally, he gets some closure about Uncle Ben. I really enjoyed it. I would say that obviously, like, when the credits started to roll, I was like, no, like, I want to know what happens with him and Mary Jane. Does he apologize? Do they make up? Do they get through their, do they work out their relationship problems and, like, get to a place where they can communicate
Starting point is 00:08:34 more, you know? Yeah, does he get to Does he get to explain the whole villain or the whole venom thing? But then again, it's kind of nice when you are left with those questions. So I think for me, I can't
Starting point is 00:08:48 imagine, I'm not wrapping up the three wishing that I had anymore. I was like, that was beautiful. And I kind of love that they did shove it all in there. I'm like, yeah, clean it up. Yeah. Because three, just a nice trilogy. It's just a nice number. You know, force two months.
Starting point is 00:09:04 All right, Paige, do you want to take this next one? Sure. Maurice. Oh, Maurice Gray Jr. Do you think, hi, Maurice. Do you think the film successfully juggled all of the villains or were there too many? To me, this felt crowded. Like they knew that there would not be a fourth with the cast and they had to get everyone in. I'm surprised they didn't try to cram scorpion and rhino. Oh, I forgot about rhino. And the hop a goblin? Habgoblin. Who's that? I don't know. I don't know who Scorpion, Rhino were the... I knew. I forgot about rhino.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Rhino's a good one. I don't know who Scorpion or hobblegoblin were. Hobblegoblo? Hubbo. Hubbo. Hobgoblin. Hobgoblin. I mean, like I said, at times, for sure, it did feel like there was kind of a lot going on.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Yeah. It felt a little crowded. I agree. It could feel a little crowded to me at times. Okay. I guess a little. I'm not trying to play Jackie. I'm not trying to play Jackie.
Starting point is 00:10:03 I'm not trying to. trying to sway you. No, okay. But yeah, we definitely couldn't have crammed anymore in there. At times I was nervous, but then I felt like it kept working. I don't know. What was I going to say? I liked the Butler moment and that being the thing to sway James. Do I still wish that he and Peter would have just like Peter would have just talked, I guess. But then you had Peter repeating like I'm not going to try to convince you anymore. And I was and I remember in that moment, I was, I was like, but you haven't sat down with him and really, like, tried to tell him what happened. Like, it's just been, like, in the middle of fights when you yell, like, he killed, he, he, he, he, he, it was his own blade.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Right. You know, so. But I don't know. I liked that they teamed up at the end. I guess I just felt a little confused as to why Sandman was joining Venom. Because then it, it was like a really quick. Yeah. I think it was just about.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Sorry, I didn't mean to kill him. Right. It seemed like it was just about having a big boss fight. Yeah. Well, and about like teaming up on Spider-Man because he was like, Spider-Man's the only reason you can't get this money for your sick child kind of thing. Yeah. I guess. But I can see how that could feel like a weak point.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I actually like that we got the motive behind all of these, except for venom really, except for either. He was just a bad alien symbiote. but that Sandman's you know that there was there was a real motive for for a lot of these villains yeah um well I guess just for Sandman well I almost feel like and got Green Goblin he was like avenging his father's death which makes sense that makes so much sense um well I almost feel like for Sandman that last scene with them is so powerful that it kind of makes the audience forget like wait why like he's not that bad of a goal like why is he joining why is he in this boss fight you know so actually he was just there good point maurice but he hurried on back to the beach yeah he went jaden roads writes in and says people really do not like this movie i actually quite like it i think it's a very fun movie but it is my least favorite of this trilogy i'm curious if you all agree and what is y'all's favorite spider man movie in general with there being ten movies already
Starting point is 00:12:29 and one more on the way. Jeez. Well, we have not seen. We haven't seen 10. So out of the three that we have seen, I had the most fun with this one. I'm sorry. This was definitely fun.
Starting point is 00:12:43 I really liked this one. Yeah. I had so much fun. I like this one a lot. I feel like I always am tempted to like later films almost more sometimes because I have all of the context and that just always makes it so much more juicy for me. You're just connected to. all of it more.
Starting point is 00:13:02 I can totally understand that. And I've said this, I've said this a lot on this channel to me. It's like you can't really like you, it's very hard for me to number them because to me it's like, do you like ice cream or do you like ice cream cake? You can't have ice cream cake without the ice cream. Like you can't appreciate the first,
Starting point is 00:13:21 you can't appreciate the third one without really appreciating the first one. Yeah. Do you know what I'm saying? And then the third one makes me appreciate the first one more. Right. It like it's cyclical, I guess. Just like saw one through ten. Are there ten?
Starting point is 00:13:38 I believe it. There are ten saws. Are there really? I thought that was a joke. No, there are ten saws, but there's no eight and nine. It's jigsaw and spiral. Oh. Jigsaw what came out? Actually, I think it's spiral then jigsaw.
Starting point is 00:13:52 I love saw. Wow. Oh, you must. Okay. Um, I could still go. Be, wee, wee. Sorry. 213.
Starting point is 00:14:02 Prop up. Gun to your head. 312. I'm crazy. I'm like, I'm going to get a hate in the comments. I'm sorry, you guys. I have to speak my truth. We like what we like.
Starting point is 00:14:15 It's okay. Oh, okay. You want to take the eye? Jay Rushden. Hey, Jay. Question. What the reaction to emo dance series? This was.
Starting point is 00:14:27 What was our reaction to the emo dance scene? It was like memed back then. It was memed. back back. Oh, it was a big meme. It was a, it was viral. Um, I, I thought it was fun. Like, did it need to be in there? No. But it was fun. But it was super fun. And we always get like a good laugh break through. And again, I think that that was a great levity. Yeah. And I think it was a really fun thing for you and I to discover that venom was Spider-Man. That was so cool. I had no idea. You know? I thought it was just going to be a third villain. Yeah. I thought I had a
Starting point is 00:15:02 little more cultural familiarity. Yeah, this world. Actually, some people would say I live in my own world. But I thought I had more familiarity with the series and with where it went. But I like really had like, I didn't even know. Yeah, that was great. Yeah, that was cool. I'm still, now I'm feeling like I want to understand more about venom because I thought
Starting point is 00:15:21 that venom is maybe nice in the marble movies sometimes. Oh, really? I don't know. Was he from another planet? He came in on a meteorite pretty. You know more about, you know more than me from me. My knowledge is from your Spider-Man and Amazing Friends, and Venom is not in any of Spider-Man and Amazing Friends.
Starting point is 00:15:38 I think he's a little too scary. He's too scary. That would be very hard for child mind, I think, to understand that it was Spider-Man also. You know what I mean? That's why Sandman's in there and dock off because they're kind of... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Yeah, they're not too scary. Yeah. I had so much fun. What was your favorite battle scene in this one? Something about the subway. I think I really enjoyed the subway because I've mentioned this when we were watching subway too yeah spider man can take a lot of hits but I think if he got fucking rammed by the L well the L goes slow okay fine like the NQR train he's dying too
Starting point is 00:16:16 yeah he's trying he's dying he felt like the stakes were so high you know I really liked Gwen Stacy just hanging for a while yeah that was fun but that one wasn't so much a battle as a rescue but I actually really liked the first one with with Harry and and Peter That one was great. Just because we knew it was Harry. No, the very first one. And it was all in the air pretty much. Also, like, how many times did we think Harry died in this movie?
Starting point is 00:16:42 Then he actually did at the end. But I feel like it was like three times. Yeah. We thought he died. No, it was three times. Yeah. Right? The first time when he had to go to the hospital.
Starting point is 00:16:52 And then he pumpkin exploded in. And then he got stabbed and died just like, it was dead died. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Oh my God. It was so good. I also really loved their fight scene in the house, too.
Starting point is 00:17:06 Yeah. Because it was, even though Peter was vicious, your dad didn't love you. Oh my God. But like you will kind of, when you're fighting with someone that you're back close with, that you're like a sibling, like, because they're like brothers. He, oh my God. I just, I was like, that's those, those are two people that love each other so much and that's why they're fighting that much.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Yeah. Yeah. The only people you can, right? Yeah. I was so amazing. I loved it. that was super fun guys yeah thanks for watching with us thank you guys so much and we might be doing the Andrew Garfield one soon and we'll see stay tuned subscribe to patreon please if you like this
Starting point is 00:17:46 video give it a like share it if you think it's worth sharing and thank you guys so much we had so much fun bye
