Wayfair, every style, every home.
Dream Labs, I'm going to kick off with that.
Okay.
We're live.
All right, we did it.
We're finally live.
We did it.
It's been a lot.
It was a chaotic session to get live, but we're finally here.
We're going to talk about Spider-Man, brand new day.
Heavy spoiler talk.
incoming your way.
Coy's over the moon about this movie.
I'm over the moon about it.
I've seen it twice now.
You've seen it twice as well.
Yeah, I like a rush to make sure it happened yesterday.
Yeah, man.
Yeah, it was a great time.
It was a really, really great film.
I mean, do you know where you'd rank it personally?
Amongst the MCU, amongst the Spider-Man,
among, give me, help me now.
Amongst the Tom Hollins, I guess.
We'll start there.
It is my favorite Tom Holland Spider-Man.
Okay.
It is my favorite live-action Spider-Man.
It is my third favorite Spider-Man.
film. It is in my top 10. There you go. Coenail the doll down. What more do you need, guys?
So it's going to be a completely spoiler talk going forward. So you got like five seconds to
click off the video. And if you're watching this on the playback, you could, of course, hop around.
There should be video chapters if this is the playback by then. If you're here, please leave a
like. That would mean a lot. If you want to go to the extra mile, have your question read on air
guaranteed. You can contribute to our super chats and stream labs. This is going to be a little
bit different than we normally do, we'll let you guys interrupt the stream a little bit more.
We'll normally, it's like we're going to talk for like an hour and then we just open up the chat,
but I've noticed, I think we all, we both have that that often leads to us just repeating ourselves
in what we've said in the past hour. That question was what we said 27 minutes ago. We might as well
actually just dive in and have a really good time with this. But yeah, we're going to have to talk about
Sadie Sinkis Jean Gray, Punisher, what that post credit seed means with a future spot a man. I think it has
three potentialities.
Okay.
Okay.
You're going to start there?
Yeah, we got some super chast and stream labs already.
Let's talk about the post credits.
Why not?
Okay.
Okay.
So you and I have not had this conversation yet.
About the post credits.
Or just generally we've briefed each other.
Like, I liked it.
And like, we had like a five minute talk.
We haven't actually like done the movie.
So it's on the spider tracker.
The one that net.
Which is a real app.
Spideychracker.com.
Is it real spideychracker.com.
And the song it plays is the 1967.
Spider-Man theme song. Oh, I didn't know that. I've been jamming out. Oh, no way. Okay. Well,
Ned created this... You're welcome to Samsung. Ned created this app that is able to track Spider-Man,
and then at the end of it, I thought it was saying he's going to space or something like that,
potentially hinting at his appearance in Doomsday or Secret Wars, but then someone in the crowd shouted,
Miles! And I was like, uh-oh, I didn't quite understand. And I had to, uh, I actually didn't
get to watch the post-credit scene the second time. I had to like jet immediately after it was done.
so I didn't get clarity
what happened.
So what are your theories?
So my three ideas are the tamest of which is the tracker isn't able to tell when Spider-Man goes away.
And that's Tom Holland confirming Battleworld confirming his secret wars.
That's the smallest potentiality, right?
Because it's a spider tracker.
It says here it seems to me a second does pop up.
But I could see them being like it's confirming him in Battleworld.
That's the least likely tame one.
The most likely is the to me like it's not a,
stretch, but it's also like a little bit more like, whoa, uh, is that it's confirming a second
Spider-Man and that Toby or Andrew will be in battle worlds last Secret Wars because it's a, it's a second
Spider-Man appearing while he's still in New York. It's a second and it's in space. So it's confirming a
second Spider-Man. So to me, that is a Toby or an Andrew. The third potentiality is it's-
what the fuck did Ned invent to be able to do? To detect a device. But the third potentiality is,
is it's detecting an incursion event in space. So it's a spider coming into the universe because it doesn't
land anywhere. It literally says unknown. And that would be Miles because that's his Earth 1610
coming into Earth 616 and that's appearing and bringing that spider in. So like I'd say it is least
likely Miles. It is most likely Andrew or Toby. And then the one that would be like, well, that doesn't
quite make sense would be that it's confirming Tom because it seems to indicate a second spider.
But obviously we don't know the technology. So it could just be confirming him in battle world.
But I would say it's I think I read it the first time as Andrew or Toby. And then the second time I was
like, but Miles would be crazy.
So like I'm going to let them go with either direction.
Kind of like the last beat with Ned, it has two reads, right?
Like the last month with Ned could be interpreted two very different ways.
Yes.
Yes, it could be.
So I think the movie.
I just think that, you know, a lot of these post credit scenes have seemed like they're hinting at something much more insane.
And I feel like that's why I'm trying something as simple as it's setting up that he's going to be in secret wars.
That's why I'm saying like three options.
Yeah.
What do you mean?
Harry Styles hasn't been back.
Yeah.
But I think, you know, Destin Denoucrette and I interviewed and I've talked to him about Spider-Man as many times as I can.
But he said one of his favorite things was how John Watts left no way home.
That's why he wanted to do brave, new, or a brave new day, brand new day was because he loved how it ended because it gave so much potential.
So I hope, I hope he and the writing team are back.
But I think he intentionally gave both endings, potentiality.
Because of how he liked receiving it.
I think he wanted to do that for himself or someone else.
Well, which ending excites you most?
I mean, it excites me most.
It would be, to be honest, I want a little bit more adult Tom Holland before we get Miles.
So my most excited would be Andrew Garfield and or Toby.
I think Miles should be after like a symbiate saga.
I think right now there has never been a more apt time to bring in the symbiate than where Spider-Man is emotionally and mentally.
Like to have him get the symbiate after his experience of this film, it literally ends with him being like,
My DNA, I'm accepting it as more erected.
I'm trying to figure out who I am.
Fucking symbiate time, dude.
Like so, and I'd want at least a symbiate movie before Venom.
And I would want Miles to not be in the mess of Venom stuff.
So I want two more Tom's before Miles.
It's fascinating because I think a lot of this movie probably had an earlier draft
or what he's experiencing.
They might have had a draft or was a symbiote.
Those eyes black and they replaced it.
Yeah, there's a lot that seemed like it might have.
This is like a Peter Parker getting the symbiate kind of journey.
Yeah.
but just without the symbiate itself.
Yeah, just the erected DNA.
So I could see that setting up because this would have been real full with symbiate.
Like, I'm glad they didn't.
Very true.
Very true.
Hey, Ray, Ray is manning down the chat right now.
Can you pull up the stream labs really quick?
We got a couple.
I noticed some from last week.
I'll make sure we catch up on those that we actually missed.
But I want to kick off with Dan V-900 today because he had a good two-parter that I feel
like is a good spoiler territory because it's about Gene Gray.
Thank you, guys.
We see some of those supers coming in.
It's August tomorrow.
What does she do?
You just let me know when it's up on screen there.
We good?
Okay, cool.
Dan V-900 is saying, thank you, Dan.
I really like the film, but feel like they drop the ball with Gene.
She never truly shows remorse for her actions.
She took control of MJ and kissed Peter, where Peter apologized to MJ.
But there's no apology from Gene.
Gene took control of a man who she leads.
It's sure.
When the second video was like, she's straight up murder.
That's an innocent man.
The man is in reference again.
He apparently lived because Peter says
She's not a killer
She froze a lot of people
I get we're supposed to feel bad with her sister and mom
But she did awful stuff
It's the same thing with Wanda
And I'm like yeah so what
She took over her town for a little bit
But she has trauma
So it's okay
Hey these are I think these are actually fair points
It's not something that I was actively thinking about
When watching the movie
But I think those are fair points
I think it was intentional man
Like I personally
I fucking hate when Gene turning into
dark Phoenix is out of nowhere.
Sure.
Like she literally consumes planet.
She feels bad about it after, but there is something in her with darkness.
Like I think it's good to start.
I mean, this is obviously her as a villain and they made her a villain in the film.
But I think it's interesting to have a character have an undercurrent of darkness that then turns into full blown Phoenix versus like there was nothing setting up Fomka Jensen to have any sort of darkness.
The other time we X-Men 3 when she was like,
The Venus corrupts me, and it didn't feel like the character.
It felt like a totally new person.
And then likewise, Sophie Turner, we'd barely met.
So to me, having, you know, I'd want like a five or six film saga before we got to Phoenix.
But starting dark, I think it's so much more interesting.
And look at what we got with Loki.
Look at where we went with so many characters.
Like all the Thunderbolts.
So I don't know, man.
Maybe it's because of where I am as a person.
I don't feel like you're understanding.
I feel like I got a completely different interpretation of what he's saying, though.
That she's not redeemable.
That she didn't really have to deal with the consequences of her actions and that she kind of got a pass.
Well, it's like a Spider-Man movie.
It's not a Gene Gray fucking movie.
I know, but she also got a pass from Spider-Man himself without being like, you still did commit like a lot of terrible crimes.
He didn't really have the opportunity to stop anything.
No, he was kind of dying.
He was dying.
And she kept in a lot.
I'd be happy with her too.
No, it's fair.
No, it's a fair point.
Because I'm 100% on the same page with you of like, I feel like this is undoubtedly the best.
live action Gene Gray that we've got in so far. It's amazing how the casting for Marvel seems to be
consistently great. And what I was saying in my non-spoiler, because I didn't want to say what was
happening, is that she, when she's first on screen, like when she actually, you should have to
actually hear Sadie Singh's voice and she's talking and started and like, I'm Gene Graham,
talking to the DOC. And anytime she's like talking to Peter Parker and she's saying,
I told you what would happen to your girl. There were like lines that she was given that sounded kind of
cliche.
Yeah.
The first time we meet her, I'm like, I was like super aware of an actor acting.
And it's like the dialogue.
I was like, okay, I don't know if I'm going to love this version of Jean-Gray.
But when she was captured by the DOC, as soon as she was in that glass containment.
Like flashback with Sarah.
Yeah.
And then containment in there and that whole escalation of her art.
It was her scene with Aunt May that brought me to tears.
Yeah.
And both times I watched it.
I cried it even harder at the second time, knowing it was coming.
Oh, my God.
That is that, that, that moment.
So I think that's part of the beauty of, of the con, because like, I have like logical arguments
about about Punisher that I did not apply with Gene, like what Dan V-900 is pointing out.
I'm like, that is true.
She does get away with a lot.
Yeah.
By the end of this movie.
But I, I would say that her journey here, I'm so absorbed as an audience member that I
wasn't even considering that I was so on board with her arc and her journey and her
understanding of, you know, she.
She's changed by the end that the same person wouldn't be doing what Dan B 900 is mad that she didn't get consequences of doing.
I totally.
Yeah.
I mean, that's been the number one thing I've heard negatively about the film and I and I didn't under.
What was the number one thing?
The Jean Grey.
Oh, really?
People not connecting with Jean Grey.
What?
Is that a thing that people are saying?
I didn't know that.
Because I've been really.
Really?
Oh my God.
I've already put out a non-spoiler and a lot of people.
She's so good.
They don't like characterizing.
I read the word characterization.
What the fuck is what are people talking about?
I disagree.
But that's also made me like, I don't even understand where they're coming from because I see the intent.
So I think I just don't agree with people with those people in how they're perceiving the character because I think it was very effective.
Yeah.
I also think introducing a world that hates and fears mutants.
You need someone that is against the wall that doesn't trust in humanity.
Right.
And then she tries.
And then she's going to be maybe someone defending.
I think the two, my two biggest things when people have a problem with the gene gray characterization are one,
Punisher shoots people in the face.
And two,
Spider-Man invents the inhibitor color that enslaves mutants.
And like,
that's going to be a consequence.
Gene's going to have to deal the consequences of her actions,
but that should happen in a Gene Gray movie or an X-Men movie.
Spider-Man's going to have to deal the consequences of his actions.
And I'm curious to see his effect on,
like, how mutants treat him.
But that's to come.
What I liked most about this movie,
and my whole non-spoter review is,
I think this did what Civil War did well,
even better.
And I think that Civil War, as we're doing our rewatch, currently my number one.
I think it's my favorite MCU film as of this moment.
And it hadn't been.
But what I think it doesn't do well is I've always seen it as a Captain American movie that has Avengers tendencies.
And then this rewatch, you definitely see it as Avengers film.
And I think that's because it strays from its lead for too long.
And it doesn't have a thematic resonance tied to the lead at all times.
It has themes that tie to the lead, but it doesn't connect at all times.
This film, every single supporting characters to support the lead.
this is a Spider-Man movie and Hulk served Spider-Man, Punisher served Spider-Man, Gene Gray served Spider-Man.
I wouldn't have wanted to see any sort of redemption or her adjusting that because then the Danumal and the entire third act would become a Gene Gray story.
Yeah.
Because this movie is so strong because it stays about Peter.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And Gene's story of her having a loss and liking it to how Peter lost Aunt May and the paths of loneliness that they choose and the types of their versions of vengeance.
At the end of the day, like what Peter's doing as a vigilante is his version of vengeance in some way.
Yeah.
You know, like of honoring redemption.
Maybe vengeance is too like dark or stronger word for that because it's not a revenge mission, but I'm using vengeance specifically.
So like in it thematic, I get what you're saying.
That is a really strong point because I can see people being like, I've heard people say that it stops being a Spider-Man movie and becomes about something else.
But both times I've watched it, I wouldn't say that.
I feel like when it's its strength.
That is its strength.
It feels like a comic book, like a graphic novel run to me.
Like this would be like issue five out of six.
By the time you get there.
Yeah, where you do break POV from Peter for a bit and you get to really understand the bit.
Like this gives you time to really understand the villain.
Yeah.
And empathize with them.
By the way, that VMAX reveal.
Fucking great.
God, that's one of the best.
That's a great VMAX reveal.
My gosh.
Max.
Sadie Singh.
Surrey did things.
I just put it together.
Telekinetic like 11, but Max.
It's all one.
All right.
We're going to be hopping around like a real life spoiler talk.
when you're with a group of friends.
Can we go to the super chats right now, my friend.
Sadie Sink.
I can't believe people.
I thought she was so good.
I didn't read a lot of negatives,
but the ones I did were all about her.
And I thought that was really interesting because I can usually like disagree with someone
and still get where they're coming from if it's like a constructive note.
Yeah.
But that one's like they're trying to be constructive.
And I respect.
They're not being like dumb about the way they're phrasing it.
But I'm like, I actually can't see it personally because I thought it was so well done.
Like some arguments are just like people trolling.
I did not read that about her.
I just read like, oh, I disagree.
I'm going to make a note to talk about Sarah Gray
since they changed her from the comics quite a bit.
Yeah.
Okay.
She is in the comics, but not quite like this.
She's not a mutant.
Natalie Brooks.
Hey, Natalie.
Hello, fellow rejects.
Coy, did you notice that Ryan Reynolds' dead pool costume color was Gene Gray?
I did.
Spider-Man was Incredible Hulk.
Much love from UK.
I got nothing.
UK.
And she also goes on to say, also love to my son,
who's in the hospital after a dog.
Holy shit, I'm so sorry.
You should be using that towards your son,
but we'll take your money right now.
That's a good man right there.
That's what I do.
He's an artist and designs his own comics,
as well as writes his own graphic novel,
comic stories, loves you all.
I hope one day that we're able to be talking about
adaptations of his comics.
The dog attack is writing hand.
That's the next sentence.
I know his dog attacks.
He will heal, though.
He will heal.
That's so specific and sad.
It is really sad.
ad right now. I do look forward to covering his comics. I agree with what Greg was saying for
he interrupted with oh my God. That's part of his origin stories out. Now he's got it in a canon event.
Yeah. It's like Dr. Strange. Yeah. He's got to learn the mystic art of arts. So that way I can
graphic novel it up again. It's going to make a lot of psychedelic art. That's cool. That's cool.
Our condolences, all of our well wishes to your son. That is a very intense thing.
I did notice the Jean Grey pantom. It literally is the pantom color called Gene Gray. So not when he's
wearing gray gene. It is Gene. It is Gene.
Gene Gray. Who's the guy who, who'll take this opportunity? Who's the guy who spoiled the
Gene Gray on the right carpet? Some twat who had a song come out today, the day after. He literally
was using his promotional tool. He had a music video drop like 12 hours later. He's an artist or something
right. I thought he was a TikTok or being interviewed. I had no idea who this guy is. I've never
heard his name until this and I was like, bro, is that a promotional gimmick because your name's
getting searched? That's cold. Yeah, I thought it was just some guy who heard a theory online and was
saying it. I'm like, oh, this guy was involved in some capacity.
with Steve Lacey.
Accidentally. He said it.
Like he must have gotten the actual information.
That's crazy.
It's crazy how both of these movies, like down to the wire, people have done such a good
job on not spoiling and then something happened.
This is the Toby's dick of Brand New Day.
But there was still like, it could be fake.
Could be a fake photo.
Yeah, yeah.
And then this was on the red carpet.
This was on the red carpet.
Like, yes, we all knew that she was more than likely Jean Graham.
They made it to the finish line.
Like, but even Sadie's.
think never conceded.
Like, part of the fun was the moment when a pop-john's, because they did it like a reveal.
Yeah.
In the movie, it was like, bah, yeah.
That sucks.
They tell you early on, and it is just confirming what everyone pretty much would.
But it's still exciting.
And they knew, this was one of the times where I felt like they knew people would figure this out way before the movie came out.
Like, there was no way they could really dodge this.
But it was fun to not 100% now.
Yeah.
It's pretty fucked up what happened to happen on the actual live stream.
On their live stream.
That's hilarious.
That is so fucking funny.
Yeah, that's crazy.
But I didn't hear it because I was in the movie about that point.
But, like, man, that's awful.
Yeah, because when I was that, uh, whatever, I will move off.
What's the next one here?
Oh, my God.
Some reject gang.
I unfortunately won't be watching the movie until Sunday.
Leaving a super chat to support him.
We'll catch with a live stream.
That's a okay, man.
Very kind.
Thank you so much for being here.
Thank you so much.
We're seeing you in the future.
Uh, Ethan T.
Hi, gents.
Thank you for being light in these days.
Hey, it's a great day when Greg gets to be positive about the MCU.
That's what I like to say.
Okay.
Keish Martin, moment of silence.
Thank you so much for Cash and Martin.
Thank you for that.
Real influencer influences with Hayden.
I loved it.
My favorite next to Toby's second film.
This is Spider-Man film.
I've won in my whole life.
Can't wait to hear Yale's thoughts.
Well, this is the one where people are comparing it most to Toby McGuire Spider-Man, too,
which I know is not your favorite.
It is, it seems like in cinema talk, the people's favorite.
It's generally the one that people have to surpass.
I know there's probably a lot of people right now thinking or typing away that, no, that's not mine.
The average,
averaging Spider-Man 2 from with Toy McGuire tends to be like the peak standard that you can't,
that people just can't seem to surpass.
And this movie seems to have the most in common with, like, what we were saying is that
when the camera wasn't rolling is that there's no way home.
is interesting because that's the one where they bring all three Spider-Man together.
But this one feels like a combination of the tones of stories.
Yeah, embodying a lot of Spider-Man 2 and a lot of the darkness of Amazing Spider-Man 2.
A lot of Amazing Spider-Man 2, but a lot of a mean Spider-Man 1 as well.
Yeah.
Like it seems like they're actually taken all while still being the Tom Holland version of it.
So I think the culmination effect is cool.
I'm just wondering if people are, it's the inverse, though, where in Spider-Man 2, he's learning like how to become,
he's giving up Spider-Man in order to be Peter Parker.
And this one is giving up Peter Parker to give up Spires.
So I like that there's an inverse to it.
And of course, he's getting the organic webbing this time around.
And how in that movie he's losing the organic webbing in Spider-Man too because he's
giving up Spider-Man.
And this one, because he's gaining it.
He's gaining it.
So I like that it's also an inversion too because, like, her origin is she's in the mind of her best friend as she dies.
Right.
And I thought it was cool that she was in the mind of her new friend as he lives.
like there's a lot of cool inversions to canon yeah it's so cool that aunt may was still able to be
super effective in this movie just uncle ben and just so hard just the memory of her right there
like her words being that omnipresent like the and then playing it for peter and then hearing
those same words register for someone else was really beautiful i thought they would actually
mention uncle ben this time you know i wonder if there's like a legal or if there's like now
we're too far in yeah because like i i have been wondering i thought it'd be
fund at least cast him yeah like to know who his uncle ben is but i think i think marissa tomey
loves the character so much she wants to keep finding ways to come back and they're like well we got
to make her uncle ben effectively because uncle ben was also kind of represented in toby and andrew
andrew and i home like that whole speech but it's like where is the uncle pen well that was a part
of why i feel like this also felt so much like amazing spider man because andrew garfield's is
mourning so much the loss of his parents yeah and here he's morning may and the quips and stuff is very
Andrew Garfield. It's why it's my favorite
one, because it is the things I like out of the Sam Ramey
films without some of my pitfalls.
It is the things I love about Andrew Garfield's
portrayal, but it's written like a movie, not
like a studio, put it together. So it's doing
all the things, and it's got Spider-Man video game
and stuff. Like it did the ultimate thing.
All right, let's move up here.
Thank you guys.
Ron H. is saying,
you don't know me. I'm usually shilling for
Harloff. Thought I'd say, hello, first
thing, Spider-Man, Brady Day. It's freaking awesome
enough set on another note. Either of you
you watch hollyweed no but that sounds like my type of show so i was at the i i worked out the gym
and then i left in this exact shirt sure and i had a moment that i haven't had in years
since before the pandemic it was really special to me i was leaving and the guy at the front
desk was like love your shirt up and i feel like i get that a lot when shirts i wear but i think people
just say that yeah yeah but he actually stopped he's like did you see the new movie yet like the guy
working at the gym. He's like, did you see the new movie yet? I'm like, oh yeah, I saw it twice. He's like,
I saw it twice too, dude. So let me just start talking about Spider-Man for a bit. And I haven't
had an interruption like that where, oh my God, we're talking about like an event movie right now
out of excitement all because you saw one image and now it's making you think of the movie.
And I don't know, I just don't really and have encounters like that anymore. People don't stop
you to talk like I feel like that's the most common occurrence of being a real reject.
No, he doesn't know me. He doesn't know me, Greg Albao real reject. I'm just a guy. I'm just a
I'm just a guy at the gym.
Yeah, that is a nice moment.
And he saw the shirt and he wanted to talk.
He was so in love with the movie that he saw someone he could finally just like,
oh, I could talk with this person about Spider-Man.
It's like, oh, shit, I'm having like a community moment right now as just a dude.
Yeah, I don't know.
I thought it was like really special.
And this sounds like a negative, but it's a positive.
It's also like I usually get stopped to talk movies because people have seen my opinion already.
Yeah.
So it's nice when it's about like you're anonymous.
Like it's kind of nice.
Like I agree.
Like it's not, I'm talking to someone that talks about movies for living.
I'm talking about the IP that I love.
Yeah.
Like that is rare because like people don't usually offer their opinion so like excitedly unless they know that's what you do.
I've noticed.
Sure.
Like there's just like this public thing of like people don't like to interrupt or like it does seem like the before times there was more open conversation.
Like coffee shops used to feel a bit more like open and communal.
And now there's a little bit more of that like cubicle energy.
Yeah.
I guess why I felt it was special in that moment is this movie is so much about loneliness and having a difficult time overcoming one's own self-isolation and voicing to connect.
Yeah.
So we've, most of us have been there.
We know people like that where it's not a logical thing.
It's an emotional thing where you're like, obviously you're lonely.
So you have an opportunity to connect, connect with someone and to have a connection with some person who I've passed countless times.
Yeah.
I've seen this guy so many times.
And the one day I'm wearing a Spider-Man shirt is the one day we're like finally talking to each other.
It's like, oh, yeah.
This is the movie that hits so much I'm on loneliness.
It's like, I don't know.
It's like a magical, this is a weird magical moment to me.
Yeah, I love that, man.
I love those.
It's really special.
All right.
Here we go.
Let's move in.
Chadwick Myers?
No.
Nick Alexander.
Right?
Nick, yeah.
No, where are we at?
We just read that one. Navy descent.
I feel like we've gone way up.
Oh yeah, hold on.
We are way up.
We are way up.
Ray, what have you been doing, man?
Ray's just scrolling.
Jesus Christ, Ray, you've scrolled way too high.
He's just going crazy.
Wow.
You scroll way too high.
Okay, now slow it down.
You're way too low now.
Ray is trigger happy.
Way too low.
Is what happens you're the guy in the chair?
We left on Hollywood.
We're going to shit on you for the job.
We don't know how to do.
That's how we go.
Isaac.
Spidey tracker is tracking Toby.
Could be.
One person shouted Miles.
and I was 100% convinced
as what it was.
Isn't that funny how they brain works?
Like, correct.
Correct.
The filmmakers are like,
we did not tell you shit.
They sound more confident than me right now.
That means they're right.
I'm going with their opinion.
And that's like this.
It's so funny.
And people put stuff in ink and they're like,
that's stuff like.
And it's like nothing indicated that certainty.
I must have misunderstood that.
I was going to take.
But like also,
I mean,
there have been rumors.
Toby's in secret orders.
So I could see someone inferring that too.
But I don't think the movie did that.
I hear a lot of him in,
uh,
in doomsday.
I'll say though,
you know, like, I felt that this was way more the Peter Parker that I read than Toby's is.
Like, I don't know if I put this above Spider-Man to you personally.
It's just a movie.
Yeah, but in terms of Spider-Man?
Like, the shows that I watched and the comics that I've read,
I'm like this feels way more like actual Spider-Man to me than Spider-Man too does.
Even though I don't know if I don't, I don't think I would put it above Spider-Man to you personally.
but this is way more Spider-Man to me still.
I think Spider-Man 2 is the best of the Sam Ramey's.
It is my number six of the Spider-Man.
Like I just,
the characterization is so far from how I see the character
that I enjoy the films and they're so important
and they brought me so much joy as a child.
They showed me it was possible,
but as far as the characterization of my favorite character,
that can't be higher for me.
Yeah.
And like it's so different.
And like the way he treats so many of his relationships
are so false that it like is hard for me to enjoy
even while these spiders.
man because I'm thinking like I don't know if he would have done that whereas this movie it felt every
interaction felt like how spider man would deal with blank or do blank like that was so special to watch
a movie where for two and a half hours I was like that's what he'd do let that spider man and i haven't
felt that in a live action movie I felt that in the spider verse films yeah but this one felt like spider man
felt more like spider man's i like Andrew garfield more than spider man too but I like Andrew garfield
more as Spider-Man than I do Toby, but even here I feel like he's more Spider-Man than Andrew Garfield.
This finally, yeah. His, his, it's the little things. It's the interactions when he's working
with the cops after the DOC break. He's like, good job, guys. People saying, I love you, Spider-Man,
but then he's also lonely or when towards the end of the movie, the way he holds the door open
for someone before he bumps into Ned to do the handshake at the end. It's the little kindness,
nervous gestures. The scene when he's interacting.
with MJ with the curtain closing.
So much of him and even his arguments with Punisher.
I'm like, this sounds, this just seems like the comic way more to me and the TV shows that I love.
Yeah.
So much more.
To me, I'm like, this might be my favorite interpret.
This might be my favorite Spider-Man performance now.
Yeah, I think it's my favorite Peter Parker, certainly.
And it's probably my favorite Spider-Man.
Like I can say with my full chest is my favorite Peter Parker.
Yeah.
But I think it's also my favorite Spider-Man.
I just, I don't want to be like I've seen it this week.
It's hard because I've been so excited for it.
Now that I've seen it, I don't want to be like, recency, but I can't think of it.
Other than the Spider-Verse films, the second place is No Way Home and in live action.
And No Way Home is I love Spider-Man because of the three of them.
Like, it's them being different and culminating in Spider-Man that makes me love that film.
Ironically, Tom gets to do that by himself here.
Yeah.
Like Tom represents the culmination that I love about No-Way Home.
And that's so special.
Yeah.
It's just got a consistent kindness
even no matter how dark he gets.
Yeah.
But when he goes dark, it's cool.
And when it fits.
It's not dark as a default.
Yeah.
That's what drove me crazy about the Toby movies is like there's this undercurrent of
darkness that like I don't detect from even the Steve Dicko Stan Lee stuff.
Like there's an edge to Peter Parker, but he's not dark.
And I always felt like Toby wanted to like hurt people.
Like there was always like an undercurrent of like if that thug goes out of line.
Like he wouldn't kill.
But like there was always like a malice.
And I don't know if that's just like my read on how Toby perceived the character or like knowing about Toby's gambling.
But like it's very intense.
Very intense.
Uh, it was it?
Hi.
I can't read.
Hey, no last name.
Live on my lunch break for the win.
Hey man, happy to have you here.
Spider hearts.
Uh, thank you so much.
Jordan Garza just got out round two.
Leo morning.
Watch with some coffee.
Now going to draw up some sweet spot.
with the stream.
Love you guys.
To be honest,
just wanted more Scorpion.
I appreciate you bringing this up.
This was one of my little complaints about the movie.
Although I feel like they might utilize him more.
Michael Mando has been the thing we've been saying for years.
Where are you?
Why aren't you back?
Welcome you haven't been here.
And then he ends up stealing the show so much of the time and Better Call Saul,
which I know you haven't seen yet.
But my God, so good in it.
Do you always Bain and the new Batman?
Yeah.
So, yeah, he's so good and better call Saul that when you're doing that.
I'm like, well, fuck, this guy really should just come back.
We know his caliber of talent.
And Scorpion is one of Spider-Man's biggest rogue gallery villains.
Yeah.
And then when he shows up, it's like cool that he has the suit.
It's cool he gets to have Scorpion fight scenes, but I don't feel like we got the character Scorpion.
And then even when he actually has his big fight scene with Spider-Man, it's not him he's fighting.
He's fighting Gene Gray in that moment.
So I think it kind of undercuts the thing of him fighting Scorpy.
Now, I like the scene for the action.
I like the visuals.
I even think Michael Mann is doing a good job.
I like the consequences that occur when he take Scorpion,
hits him on the police car.
I love the acknowledgement of that because when he first did him,
I'm like, holy shit, he's going to get in trouble for that.
But I was like, this movie's not going to do anything about that.
I'm like, oh, my God.
This whole scene's about the fact that he fucking is.
What are you doing?
Yeah.
Yeah, so I love that whole darkness and consequences that come from it.
I love the effect of that.
But I don't feel like we got after years of wanting Scorpion to come back.
I don't feel like we got it.
Yeah.
I'd like the idea of he's one of those Rogues Gallery villains that keeps popping up.
But he's a little bit.
It felt like they kind of lumped him into the montage of those other characters.
At the most screen time, but he was amongst that.
He was amongst those like C-less villains.
But he's one of the A-list villains.
He's like a B.
He's like a B-plus.
But it's funny because when you actually read-
Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, he's like a B-plus.
It's just funny when you, I made a bunch of what-to-read comic videos.
Like I love.
doing that.
Yeah.
And every time I think of a
Scorpion comic,
I was like,
you know,
he doesn't show up
in that much good stuff.
Like,
yeah,
it's because he's like
in the Sinister 6
because of the animated series.
But like,
even looking up like,
what are the best Scorpion runs?
I read through some of them.
And I was like,
that was fine.
And it was really funny
because I've read all of these before.
And I was like,
am I remembering loving Scorpion
because he's been around for so long?
Because he's in the animated series,
like what is it about Scorpion?
And then reading the comics,
you're like,
there's like 10 good Scorpion comics
in 65,
years.
Yeah.
Because he's been around since like issue.
No,
13 was 14 is a first Hulk.
I think he's issue like 20.
So he's been around since 1964.
And he's had like 10 great comics.
Yeah.
But he's so consistent that I think people have a feeling without actually having a storyline
they love.
Yeah.
And I think what they might do because one of the best storylines with him is the
Venom symbiate taking over Matt Gargan.
And he teased that on his Instagram story.
I think that's where we go.
I think the venom symbiate needs to be the next arc.
And I think it can go on Scorpion first.
and then get on Spider-Man.
Yeah.
And that way we can build to Eddie Brock.
But I do feel like we need something because we all love Scorpion so much and because we waited 10 years.
It's just funny.
I couldn't think of like, when I was watching the movie, I had the same thought.
I'm like, I want Scorpion.
And then I was like, what do I want him to do?
He doesn't do much.
Yeah.
Like, this guy's trapped in a suit because of Jonah.
Jonah's not in the film.
Like, what can you tell?
So I would like him to get a storyline that makes him feel as iconic as we associate him
with being.
True.
I don't want like a James Gunn interpretation of Scorpion.
I'm just going to bring up the name of James Gunn because I think James Good's good at taking like a C or D list villain a lot of times.
You admit it.
Or protagonists in like Gardens of the Galaxy or something or the suicide squad.
There's a great examples of a lot of characters that people don't really know.
Yeah.
And if we were going to put Scorpion in that level of, you know, grade rating.
Yeah.
You, I would, I just know there's the possibility to make this character way more than what we got in this movie.
I think he's an incredible B-list character and they gave him C-list treatment.
I will concede that.
If they put him in a montage
and they gave him the most lines, but still.
And Tombstone's like,
with Tombstone.
Whoa,
that was a revealed casting.
Yeah.
That was like,
in the trains.
Yeah,
that was like a thing they put out there.
And montage.
He's just a one,
he's a comic cover.
They have the salvish him a cover.
Yeah,
I love the cover they picked.
Yeah.
But I definitely was aware I wanted more.
And it's crazy coming off the heels
of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man,
which does both Tombstone and Scorpion as the main villain,
the main people you're depicting.
That might be why.
Maybe.
If we just.
I know a lot of people that
watch that show compared to the movies.
Movies making a billion dollars
that is a smaller thing.
But it's great if you haven't watched.
It's great.
It's so good.
I cannot wait for season two.
But I do think there is something to be said about like if the main character was
just done.
They're not going to want to make the main character something again.
Yeah.
That's true.
Like that might have been an,
because the conversations I had with Destin,
please check out my interview.
I'm very proud of it.
His most interesting detail about the villains in particular was he was telling me how often
in writing the story they'd change out villains because it needed to suit the narrative more
than they needed to make.
the villain, the narrative.
Okay.
And then watching the film,
they did the same with the heroes.
I just happened to ask about the villains.
Like, Hulk serves a certain purpose that is specific to Hulk.
It doesn't undermine Hulk,
but it's Spider-Man's story.
Punisher, likewise, was the best buddy cop because of what he represents.
If you look at the villains,
I love that they didn't have to change to many of them out,
but it sets up his story.
And that makes me really intrigued by when Destin does a villain movie.
Yeah.
Because we didn't have a big bad villain.
We had the reveal of a hero that was doing villainous things.
True.
So when he gets,
gets his hands on a villain and that has the ramification.
That's why I'm thinking Venom.
That's why I'm thinking because the way he thinks,
I think he's doing a big, bad arc.
Yeah.
Well, that's the cool thing about this.
I feel like it ends in a way where I feel like this story is complete of this
story they wanted to tell.
It doesn't feel like we need the sequel.
Yeah.
But then you think about it like, oh, there are things that they do leave a thread on.
I smell trilogy.
Yeah.
This feels like a trilogy.
Brad new trilogy.
Yes.
Can we hop back over to the stream labs really quick to some segue in here.
By the way, it is one time.
12 right now at 1.30 p.m.
We are going to disable Superchats
from being able to come in.
Thank you guys so much.
We've already been contributing.
We just want to make sure we're on track today.
Boss Greg mode activated.
Yeah, you might want to refresh it just to be safe.
Thanks, buddy.
Thanks, Ray.
Ray.
Ray.
Okay.
It's getting that John tone.
Okay, so we're at.
We have Stephen?
Perfect.
I remembered this question because Koi was talking about Destin.
Stephen, what are your thoughts on Destin,
Geno Cretin directing during the live,
directing the live action Naruto movie?
I did catch those Naruto posters in Jacob out of Lons room.
I didn't too.
I love that.
Did you catch the Wilson Fisk poster at the dumpster?
I didn't.
I looked for it the second time.
Did you?
Yeah, it was when he's,
it's when he feels like he's got the inhibitor down.
Oh, before.
Yeah, before he accidentally, let's see.
Round three, I'm going to see it.
It's on.
It's on the dumpster.
It's a Fisk mayor.
And it is.
It is real. It's a fit. It's like it's kind of
a stretch in, I think, because they were
fighting. We're like, legally. We can't
fully do this, but it's like, it's definitely
the FIS Mayor and they got the lady from
fucking Daredevil Born again, giving the key to the
city. Love how much we read into that shit in the
trailers. Dude, the hand
gang, the hand photo, the hand image.
We're like, oh damn. The devil's going to
prison. They got someone out of the
hand. It's just the opening montage.
Which I love. I want more marketing to be
like that. The marketing did show too much,
but at least it showed so out of context, we read it wrong.
True. I mean, let's see here with Spider-Man, Shame, we're not getting Wonder Man season two. Love from the UKai. Absolutely. I feel like he'd do a great job, great job on Naruto. I mean, I wanted to do a little social media video about it. I think Destin Daniel Credin's the best director worked in the MCU right now. If you look at his three properties he's done, Shang Chi, which is this mystical Asian influence film, fantasy, wonderfully executed. It still feels like halfway, I think,
mostly, I say like 70 to 80%
filmmakers vision, 20%
a Marvel project and having to obey.
Then they let him do what he want to Wonder Man,
which is like,
which doesn't feel like the same director at all.
Yeah.
And then you look at
this movie, again, doesn't feel like
the same director of either of those properties.
But it never feels like a director
for hire from the studio just to do the job.
It still feels like a filmmaker's vision
every single time and he adjusts
his vision to serve the story
better. It's not like when you watch like a
Fincher movie or a gun movie or a Nolan movie.
We were like, this feels like each one of those
directors movies. Yeah. Like there's not
really that distinct Destin Daniel
Cretton voice, nor does it feel like
my concern of what Sean Levy
will do with Ghost Rider. Like, this
feels like an actual vision
every single time. So I feel like he's the best
director they got working in the MCU right now, because
he can adapt. He's the most adaptable director.
Yeah, I think his uniqueness
is in that he loves the story
and has a vision,
and it's not costing him either.
So many directors, they have vision like you're saying.
Sometimes it hurts the story.
And other times, like, the story means they can't be so stylish.
But you can, like, see certain style choices he does.
But he serves to the character.
I think he's absolutely incredible.
I'm so bummed to all one or man season two.
Like, that's like, they just greenlit it.
Like, we all assumed it wouldn't get a season two.
We didn't have our hopes up.
Then they got our hopes up.
Like, it's so much worse that it got canceled because I never thought we were going to get it.
Well, I feel like the reception to him is so strong that we will still see him carry on.
Me too.
Yeah.
In some capacity.
One more.
Of course.
I mean, we thought it was great.
But in terms of Destiny Neal Karen's direction in this,
I thought he did such an incredible job.
I love his mixture of styles that he brings to this.
He brings a real tension to it.
And it's hard to,
it's hard to nail down a tone for this movie
because there could feel a lot of tonal whiplash
because you have moments like an opening montage,
which are a lot of fun.
But he knew the tone had to have a constant Paul of melancholy.
And so much the jokes worked through that melancholy.
And a lot of times the Marvel problem.
My problem with Ultron,
a lot of the jokes not hitting makes it like,
I don't know what we're supposed to feel.
I knew what I was supposed to feel this movie.
Yeah.
And he knew how to capture the action well, too,
because it was more than just replicating moves from the game,
which is what any choreographer can do.
He knew when to follow,
when to flip the camera around and stuff,
because that's a part of what makes the Insomniac games cool
is how you follow where you feel like you are with Spider-Man doing it.
That upside-down Spider-Man with a hand fight.
With a hand fight.
That was so sick.
And I was not expecting like a full inversion.
That was so dope.
And he lets them be emotional moments.
Yeah.
In the hand fight, I think your average movie would, when the hand fight ends, there
be a pause for pause for applause.
Yeah.
And we do not do that.
Like he literally defeats them.
And then he swings, kicks the door up and you go right to the gene gray scene.
It's like, this isn't the movie where we're going to take a break to go.
That's why this is, uh, that's what passed no way home for me.
The little details like that.
Yeah.
Like no way home is a sporting event.
Like no way home is is made for theater.
Yeah.
And, and I think this is going to hold.
up better at home.
Definitely.
For moments like that.
So like as much as No Way Home was my favorite Spider-Man live action for the last
five years,
that element and a few other details are why I'm like pretty confident this is my favorite.
Oh,
this is by and far easily my favorite of the Tom Holland ones.
Like it's not even not even close.
But yeah,
I think Destiny's direction is with the way he realized the,
when the spidey senses are getting out of control.
That little zoom shot he does,
that goes to the wider shots in New York City as he's.
keeps holding back.
It's like the inverse of that famous jaws dolly zoom shot.
Yeah.
It's really,
really neat stuff that he does throughout.
I think he has just such a great variety.
And he knows when he go hand,
like when Peter Parker going to the party,
this is when we go handheld.
He knew which action scenes to go handheld on.
I think he just did such an excellent job of directing this movie, man.
It's a great grip on pacing and tone.
It's a long movie and it doesn't feel it.
No,
I love it, man.
And that's really hard with this many emotional
through lines. Sometimes the movie feels long because you're emotionally drained. But it knows when to punch
up the comedy without costing the movies. You're not emotionally drained. Yeah. Like I still want to
talk about the movie leaving the movie. Sometimes movies I'm like, like, I needed a break after the
Odyssey in a good way. But like that was emotionally draining in a way that I was like, I don't want to talk
about this right now. Like I didn't want to live in it where Spider-Man is so impactful and so
emotional. But I like have this is the first movie in a long time where I have 10 content ideas
that I want to make. And I'm constantly outputting. Right. I keep being inspired by like, oh,
I want to do an Easter egg video.
I haven't made a purely Easter egg video,
I think, since Endgame.
Yeah.
And like,
it's so inspiring,
while also being the heaviest fuck.
Sure.
Love this movie.
True.
Peter MCRA.
Love brand new day.
Nope.
My bad.
Chadwick.
Not sure Gene earned the get to walk away forgiven and yet.
Okay,
so this is a common sentiment.
I was telling you.
Maybe that is a thing they'll acknowledge as she is going to the ex mansion at the end of this movie.
Uh,
about hate and mutants that are hated and feared probably.
Like,
I think it's, it seems like the end is applying.
Yeah, she's going to Westchester.
Yeah, she's going to Westchester, go to the X-Machron road.
Making the guy walking to traffic cross the line.
He is in DOD, D.C.
Because if he was, then it'd be okay.
And she'd already proven she could hurt MJ, which seems like pure cruelty to mind-control innocent
bystander into potentially suicide.
That's true.
I mean, but when looking at the cre-one, one of the reasons why I love this movie so much
is because it paid attention to what didn't work in the original home trilogy.
Tom Holland's been incredibly vocal about dissecting that information over the years,
paying close attention to podcasts and such to really understand
what did people not like about the original trilogy so we can do better this time
and improve upon those aspects.
And I think these kind of concerns that people,
if this is a common sentiment that people are saying,
this sounds like the kind of thing they would actually pay attention to now
and acknowledge the next time we get Gene to come around.
If they don't, then it's kind of sucks.
But I think they did it for.
that.
Yeah.
I don't think
I'm going to do it as a reaction.
I think they did.
It's already part of the planet.
Yeah.
I think they,
it's a world that hates and fears mutants in an MCU that's like heroes.
Yeah.
Like you need to have an othering in a world that like the MCU is amazing.
I love it.
It's impressive.
It's some of my favorite hours of my life.
But they put themselves in a very tricky position for why are mutants different than Iron
Iron Man, Thor, Captain America.
that is a conversation
that's of mutants
in a show
with Muslim culture
as an anchor point
and then you introduce
the first X-Men
as the antagonist
in a Spider-Man movie
these aren't reactions
they're intentional
like this was all
plotted
so yeah
you should be wondering
like I think it's
I think it's a very
intentional thing
I don't think they're gonna be like
well the audience thinks
we should worry
I'm like no no
they want you to worry
like mutants should be like
well they could fuck us up
at any point
like that should be a concern
and there's
there's the
ability to have more nuance now than there was in 2000.
That's true.
I mean, you do this big-ass thing where Gene Gray took advantage of half in New York.
Yeah, you have a conversation about it.
Didn't a lot of that.
It's kind of like, it's kind of like Sokobia.
Yeah.
You know, the Avengers were there.
Then they keep getting blamed for shit that happened in Socovia.
Right.
And you want that kind of question.
And that was very smart to start implementing that because, you know, a lot of phase one into phase two,
it's like, we have these heroes.
We love them.
Look at the Iron Man posters everywhere.
But if you actually go, hey,
So I know he's charming, but the man is flying around in a jet without any sort of registration.
Like the dude himself wants registration because that's what he realizes after those moments.
But up until that point, we're just like, cool, bro's got a hammer, does what he wants.
Like we need to have a big enough impact that when the mutants come, there's the conversation.
Like X-Men 97 does a really good job of like painting some of the paranoia with, you know, religion and politics and all those things.
I don't think the MCU has done a lot of that leg work required yet.
So you need to make these big swings.
Sure.
That's fair.
That's a good point.
Good point.
Peter MCRA, love brand new day.
Scratch the same it just has them for me.
Is there any spidey stories that have a similar tone?
Big fan of which y'all do.
Keep it up.
Take it away, Coy.
Are there any spidey comics that have the same tone?
You're going to want to go Bronze Age.
You're going to want to lurk for a couple writers.
Roger Stern is probably the closest comp for a direct one.
to one. He does a lot of Gene to Wolf stuff. He's the man who kind of implemented the
Spider-Man working with the law to try to solve things. There, it goes very dark places with a
death of a character and that really puts Spider-Man in a spot like he was with Gwen Stacy or
Captain Spacey. Like, there's a lot of death in Spider-Man's life, but the Roger Stern stuff
feels like this tone. Jerry Conway is also a really good comp. Jerry Conway invented Punisher.
I can he really a popularized tombstone. So I'd say Jerry Conway's omnibus or Roger Stern's
Omnibus is going to give you this flavor.
You're going to want to look Bronze Age and then gang war is really fun.
That's also in this era.
But look for those two writers and you'll have this flavor.
People are saying audio's messed up.
Have you noticed these comments?
I feel like,
okay, yeah.
If you refresh, yeah, they've fixed.
Refresh.
Refresh.
It should be good.
Okay, cool.
All right.
Next one up here, Stephen, and then we'll go back to the supers.
Thank you guys for contributing.
Five more minutes.
Appreciate it.
Steven.
The scene between Spider-Man and Punisher on the boat,
where Peter compares himself to Frank's
answer really got to me.
It was not expecting so many emotional scenes in this movie
as well as some great action scenes.
Absolutely love this film.
Let's take this time to talk about Frank Castle.
Frank. Frank? Frank Castle.
Yeah.
Ah, good.
A kid.
A little headbub.
I love his little...
I see you.
I'm gonna...
When MJ opens the photo.
Get away from that.
I love John Bird.
so much,
but he's the best.
Because when he's in an interview
or when he's doing his regular stuff,
he's so like,
yeah,
man,
I'm such a bro.
I love me.
He's such a bro.
I'm such a fan of him
as a human and a performer.
They do have amazing chemistry,
and I did say some stuff
in my non-spoiler
that was alluding to things
that I wasn't a huge fan
of what they had done with him in this.
On my second viewing,
I realize
I magnified some of those things
because I hold John Bernthal
Punisher at this point for his inclusion in this movie as an impossible standard.
Higher than John Bernthal probably holds it himself.
Because, you know, like watching the two seasons again this year, falling back in love with
his interpretation at a whole new point in my life, reading so many Punisher comics.
And then one last kill.
So I know the timeline well.
Because some people were like, well, no, I mean, at the end of Punisher season,
he was like no guys no okay the interpunched season two he was offered a job at the CIA and he's
like no I'm not going to do that that he fucking just starts killing a bunch of people at the very
end that episode one last kill the news is painting him as a as a criminal who's like yes he's
killing mob people but he's a criminal at the end of the day he's a criminal so there were some
elements that I I was if a little thing slightly skewed into I don't know if I'm a fan of that on
my first viewing because of the preciousness that I held for it.
It was definitely magnet.
The feeling was of a much larger magnitude than on my second viewing where I was like,
oh, some of those things are not really that big of a deal.
It was the first thing you and I talked about.
We haven't talked much, but I was like, man, I love Punisher.
And you're like, there's a couple things that.
There's a couple things out there.
I thought it was a highlight, man.
I think this is one of my favorite performances of his.
Well, it captures the absurdity.
There are still some things that I will stay.
by, though, on the Punisher side.
I don't really feel...
Okay, so nitpick, hyper-glaughtly owning nitpick time.
Because I've given plenty of praise, in the non-spoiler especially, I'm not just going
to repeat everything.
I give plenty of praise, and it's pretty much excellent throughout.
It's excellent.
I would not want the movie to not have Punisher in it.
It's like, it's so nitpicky.
The joke with Hulk when he's like, are you just trying to get up, like, going after the Hulk?
And then he's like, I guess so.
I've seen so much of this guy by this point.
I'm like, he would not say that.
He would not do that.
Like, to me, that was when Marvel comedy came in.
Yeah.
For the Punisher line.
I can see that line.
And I did it in the first time.
I do the second time.
And like his attitude wouldn't be that way.
I like the POV they adopt of,
from Peter's perspective in this movie,
because you see a lot of the absurdity.
Yeah.
It's kind of like when he pops up in the Civil War comic book.
Right.
You're like,
This guy's fucking ridiculous.
You know,
it's when you're in Punisher's POV,
it's different.
But when you're not in his POV,
you're like,
this guy's kind of absurd.
And it's different than the Daredevil POV.
Yeah.
But the thing that I,
that they,
this movie doesn't really have is,
they don't capture like the fact that this guy is a killer.
And they make him like really PG-13ed up.
And so he doesn't get to have any really cool action moments.
People will then go,
well,
the Hulk.
You know,
he fights the Hulk.
I'm like,
yeah,
but then I got a little pulled out because I'm like,
I just watched the Avengers where the Hulk is like getting shot by jets and he's like,
fuck this.
I'm going to go after you.
But in here,
he's using an assault rifle or whatever.
And the whole,
again,
it's like,
the piggy shit.
Like I actually enjoy the secrets and have fun.
I'm just,
my mind is holding the impossible standard when I'm watching it.
Like,
yeah,
but Hulk,
why is Hulk getting backing down so much from this assault rifle right now?
Like,
he could definitely handle this one little gun,
can't he?
Like,
I like the swinging and,
and it's,
it's funny.
And the first viewing,
I thought it was,
I thought they took the piss out of him a little too much when say when Gene Graham
embodied him.
The first viewing.
The second time I'm like,
oh no,
this is actually pretty funny.
I,
that was the one thing we talked about.
I was like specifically thought the first two jokes were like fine,
but didn't quite land.
And it was that thing where like the third joke was worth the buildup.
Yeah.
With the Sadie Singh thing.
Yeah.
I remember thinking like,
oh,
that's cute,
but like not be,
but knowing it wanted to be funnier than it was for me.
And then by the third joke,
like that was so funny.
Yeah.
And then in the second viewing,
I like the whole build.
Like I personally,
I see Punisher as
absurdism when he's not in his own title.
It feels intentionally like,
guy, you got a gun,
I'm a god of thunder.
Like, I like when that's the comp.
And so one of the elements I thought this captured well was
it's an MCU film based around Spider-Man,
so it's Spider-Man's stakes.
And they literally say,
out of your pay grade.
And to me,
that felt like it was them being like,
we wanted to make sure Punisher was here
because of the importance to Spider-Man's relationship,
but he should never find it.
the Hulk. Like, I liked that. It knew how that would last three seconds.
Whereas so many comic movies, Batman should never fight Superman. Doesn't make sense.
Like, when I see, like, a fight try to rationalize, it doesn't work for me. I get the mex
suit. I get all the things they do. So you don't like that Frank Miller comic? I think it is a
commentary, but when it's translated to film, you lose a lot of the nuance of the difference
between mediums. Okay. The Frank Miller comic is an experience of imagination and a build up for a long
time and you've got like the stakes are at a different place and all these things when you're doing
it and it's just the fight and about like the physical ramifications don't line up in the same way as
imagination sure there's some comic storylines i never want to see adapted because i love the freedom of
well that wouldn't really make sense but it's it's an escapism when you make it in a movie there's
actors and suits you're looking at the eyes of a human being so it really changes the suspension
of disbelief.
Sure.
And I just don't.
One of the things,
and I know this isn't a popular thing
to say I like,
one of the things I do like about Flash
is they have that fight
with Batman fighting a Kryptonian
and it's like a Nat.
Like that's a Kryptonian and Batman,
even if he's,
you know,
not in the mecks suit and all those things.
It's a power scaling thing.
So I like that Punisher in a Hulk fight.
You need to have some levity
to make it even like a three second thing.
I actually,
I like,
I need to clarify.
I'm just here on the other side.
I'm not bullshitting.
Like, I actually like the seed.
I've just, I find, like, I'm 98% there, that 2% where I'm going, it's kind of making me think a little something else only because of how I view specifically the Bernthal castle.
Like, especially when going after Gene Gray, I feel like this version of Frank, specifically the Bernthal version would see that this is a young girl and probably have an issue with like, we can't just kill a young girl.
You know, he's someone who's a character who'd be sensitive to the fact that this is a kid.
I think that's why they showed him walking through them, New York.
I think that's why they had him absorb the scale of it because then he felt like he had no choice.
Yeah.
Which I think storytelling worked.
When they first go after the DOC and then, yeah, he's led off by the cops at the DODC
when I'm like, he's a criminal.
He's led into the hospital for all those days.
I'm like, no, he's, he'd be arrested.
That was so much.
in this movie a man turns into more of a spider.
I know, but still, there's a rule.
Sometimes there's got to be a little bit of rules.
And I get it.
That's what I was just saying about Superman and Batman.
I totally understand.
I know a lot of people.
Impossible standard for Punisher.
I know.
And a lot of people can suspend disbelief on certain things that I can't and vice versa.
That's imagination.
Yeah.
So I get it.
Like that's your thing with this character.
Whilst also loving the dialogue and interaction he has with Peter in that, like that
hospital scene is one of the high.
lights.
Same.
It's an amazing scene.
If every,
almost literally every moment of the movie
still feels like Frank Castle to me.
Yeah.
So, yeah,
I like the consequence of the guilt repercussion
and when he acts,
when he shoots Peter instead.
Yeah.
You know,
I like that moment.
And on the second viewing,
I did like him just fucking with the mask going,
like a fucking ape.
You know what I gathered the second time
that I didn't catch the first time?
What?
Was that would be the first time that Frank has received any sort of positive emotion from a group ever.
Like, Frank has never received adoration.
Yeah.
And so behind a mask, and he hates masks.
Yeah.
He hates people that hide cowards.
Behind a mask, he gets to have adoration for the first time.
That's a good point.
Well, I mean, I just love the whole ending scene too.
Yeah.
But I just, I was walking through the crowd.
How Spider-Man.
And he gets to experience the love for Spider-Man through as just a normal civilian, like, really get to be on the ground.
That's such a beautiful scene.
That scene made me.
so excited to have kids.
Oh, really that scene.
Like when I saw like a bunch of kids in their interactions with Spider-Man, because I've
also like, I am so associated with Spider-Man.
when I see someone in a Spider-Man shirt, I usually am like your guy.
Like I talk to people about Spider-Man, but it made me realize like I get to introduce
someone and then that kind of experience of like a parade.
Like that's our reality.
We in real life love Spider-Man that much.
So it was really interesting watching at the end of the film.
Like I was like, man, it's going to be a while.
But I can't wait to show my not yet existing.
Yeah.
And that scene like really hit me in the.
legacy feels.
Sure.
It was so special to be like, man, this character is 65 years old, and we've had movies for 25
years, and we are just getting started.
I'm excited.
Especially the box office.
I'm excited for 10 years from now when Kevin Fagie says, that boy who was doing that.
Is Miles Morales right there?
Little Latino kid, Miles Morales right there.
Iron man.
That's Peter Parker.
Okay.
Cool, cool, cool.
Got that out of it.
Again, I loved, I did love John Berthall in this, and I loved him more the second time.
So I did love it.
You know, I just got impossible standards when it comes to him.
Come on the show, John, defend your honor.
I got impossible standards.
I'm saying, I'm saying they're impossible.
We should disable the super chest.
Thank you to everyone who contributed.
We're going to answer confidently and efficiently.
And we're going to keep it going.
If you want to cheat your way in, their stream labs, shouldn't have said that.
Craig, we're never getting out of here.
Sweet.
All right, here we go, here we go, here we go.
Big round time.
Oh, Greg said the thing.
All right.
I got to make sure we bring up Yelena.
That is something I did not like.
Why?
Or do you want to wait?
Let's see if it comes up.
Okay.
Because we're still scrolling.
Damn, we are scrolling.
No, no, we're almost there.
Oh, no, we're at there.
We're there.
Okay.
Nefarious.
I think Jordan Garza is up.
Jordan Garza.
No, no, no, we...
No, you're right.
No, no, we did Jordan Garza.
That's where we started ranting about Scorpion.
Yeah, got it.
Nefarious.
Love this movie.
Forever, Spidey fan.
Longtime Reject.
Aw, thanks to Balthy for being good role models in the community and great people in general.
Thanks, man.
I just didn't like how woke this movie was.
Yeah, you know, there were women doing things that required, like, man things.
I felt like having the DODC was really a commentary on ice.
Yeah.
And I didn't like that they pushed that shit down my throat this whole movie.
Oh, I thought it was like...
Spider-Man is fighting ice, so we should be on ICE's side.
Right?
Like, they're dangerous people in the streets to be captured.
That is why they made Ginavill.
Yeah.
Because women, bad ice kill.
Woman, left kitchen.
Got it.
Ice.
Yeah, but we're happy to be good.
Yeah, we are upstanding members of society.
Let's move on.
Ron H.
I was afraid people clip, you know, those moments, like the sarcasm.
Because sometimes people, we said something like so sarcastic.
that like Roxy clipped it once and half the comments were like they didn't get that it was
yeah and now I'm like afraid of the internet now you are uh that's fair just now just now today
just now finally got afraid coy oh shit the internet's forever holly weed is kevin smith pilot
oh you should know that coy he marry you guys about 30 minutes three on youtube christian harloff

pride for God an Island
September 2026 DreamWorks animation
Go watch it. I'm so excited for it man
Saw that trail before Spider-Man, I was
Damn, this looks good. Yeah, it's a big Filipino
movie. Godquot, thank you.
I want to start by saying, I love this movie,
but I am being too critical by saying
I was not a fan of Tom's attempt
at that humor we know from Andrews
Spider-Man, just didn't hit
for me, really? You know what my favorite
humor moment was for him? It
wasn't dialogue. It was
when he was up all night,
working on the inhibitor and then Keith David's
It's
Aracted documentary and the birth of the spider they're focusing on it
It's just Tom Holland's face like
Because you know he's just thinking is that what's gonna happen to me?
I love that joke
I laughed so hard both sides
He didn't have to say anything you just you can see what he's thinking
So good is that what is that what I'm gonna be going in that moment is the perfect look
It was a that was my favorite favorite comedy moment from him in that moment
The comedy worked for me.
But yeah, I didn't really, I would say I laughed the least in this one out of the, I mean,
if it was not going for funny as much as the other three do.
Yeah.
Especially like one and two, I would say.
But like, but I don't, I didn't laugh as much nor at Tom Holland's lines as much.
But I still thought it was like the humor was fine.
Yeah.
It didn't take me out of it.
And the quips I thought were funnier than he had been in the past.
I thought they went for Spider-Man humor more.
They did.
As opposed to situational humor.
Yeah.
I feel like the first two are very like, John Hughes.
jinks teens, ha ha, as opposed to like Spider-Man.
I think he was hilarious in the first movie in the homecoming.
Tom Holland.
Tom Holland thought I was hilarious in the first movie.
He's really funny in Civil War too.
But this one, yeah, I mean, it's not going for as much of the humor.
But I do kind of get what you mean.
Kind of like when he's like antagonizing the DoDC at the end.
That stretch, I got a stretch moment.
I'm not in high school anymore.
Like, yeah, it was a reasonably funny.
Yeah.
I like Spidey to be talking.
Punisher made me laugh more than Spidey.
Punisher was hilarious, but it was.
We're laughing at him sometimes.
That's the funny.
I got all that shit.
That was a funny movie.
I can't wait to watch again.
Or in their bickering with each other.
Yeah, that was fun.
Oh, the hand chesters.
I love the shot of them in the security footage.
And he's just like, brag!
Yeah.
The body was so good.
Cool.
That's fine, man.
It's fine.
Diego Guevara.
What's up, buddy?
I think I know exactly where Rosario Dawson scene was supposed to be.
She said she shot a scene
for this movie that was ultimately cut out.
So we're learning this.
Yeah.
I mean, we just watched Dr. Strange, which was fun to do.
And it reminded me how that, that oath,
oathkeeper, oath breaker, two different meanings.
I think it's oath breaker.
They're two different meanings.
But Dr. Strange is heavily inspired by a very specific comic run.
And Night Nurse is in it, but they couldn't use her.
They didn't use her, so they instead made up the Rachel McAdams character.
And so it got me thinking about Night Nurse a lot, but they use her in the Netflix shows.
It was Razar Dawson's character.
And apparently she was in this.
Wow.
But they,
they don't have her in this.
Wow.
I don't know what scene.
I don't know what scene that would be.
Yeah, I'm curious as well.
Might have been when Peter needs to be.
I was going to say,
you're nursing.
Because Punisher.
He doesn't interact with her.
He doesn't interact with her in,
in his own show.
He doesn't interact with her.
But he does, I think in the Daredevil show he did in season two.
I think
but that would be the one
that makes the most sense
sure
they make
especially when you got to
bypass all the hospital
yeah you gotta have
the defenders
this is now Peter Parker
but I love
that everyone knows
yeah I know
so I wouldn't want to lose that
I don't know
you'd have to do a whole explanation
it's a lot
I need the nurse
the night nurse
the night nurse
the one who heals all the heroes
the nurse
but in the
I think in the show
she's actually a nurse
but in the
in the comic
she's not just
They just call her the night nurse, but she's an actual like doctor.
Maybe she works in the hospital.
True.
True.
That'd be easy.
Ethan T.
What's up, buddy?
It's my 25th on Sunday.
It's a perfect gift you, Jets.
Being like, oh, thanks, buddy.
Happy early birthday, man.
What day is Sunday?
The second?
Yes.
August 2nd, 2027.
We should watch Better Man.
Because I don't have time this Sunday, but maybe next year.
You should.
We have to.
We have to.
That'll be our gift to you one day.
promise one day it'll come one day ron h love the simplicity of the after credit scene for spine
man brand new day let's go secret wars do you think we get a beyonder i personally don't know
with how eternals did if the audience is hungry for that kind of content i think they're going to
make doom a kind of a blend of beyonder and molecule man like you've read the hickman stuff there's so
many characters they need to make that story work uh yeah secret wars is uh new avengers time
runs out. There's, there's so much, it's unbelievably cosmic. And we're not there. I get a,
I get a little bored with the new event. We're not leading into secret wars. I love
a secret wars. But a lot of the pre ones of the cosmic ones, I remember forgetting them.
The big gold statue guy. Yeah, I forget their name. I forget their name. But yeah,
they're the times on most bored is with those guys. I like Bendis's new Avengers more than
Hickman's and I know that's a hot take. But I also like original Secret Wars a little bit more
than modern. I like the 80s Secret Wars, which is Beyonder.
Beyond her, like, playing with his toys and their heroes and villains.
I don't think they're adapting that.
I don't think we're going to see Hulk get a mountain thrown on them.
Be cool.
Be cool.
Be cool.
Oh, we got to talk about that.
All right.
Rhodes.
Sorry.
Roads of Teal.
Finally, Spidey keeping his mask on, especially at a spa.
Oh, now's our time.
Who is that that spa, Greg?
Also, when Gene creates that psychic bubble in New York, it reminds me of Charles's seizures.
Yeah, yeah, I could see that.
And the freezing of people.
Well, that was, if I'm not mistaken,
That scene at the DOC was also the implication.
That's the first time she activated telekinesis.
Yes.
Because it was like through duress and stress, the X gene mutates or evolves in its skill.
Yeah.
So I think that was her first.
Before it was just telepathic hopping.
And limited.
And now that was when she learned she could actually move shit with her mind.
Yeah.
She got full mastery of that so fast.
Damn, you got to get emotional.
The power of anger.
Use your anger.
That's also a big theme of this movie is anger.
That's why I think the inclusion of the Hulk actually.
work but I know some people who don't like the Hulk
they thought the Hulk might have. There's one little beat with
the Hulk that I was like I don't know that feel a little convenient
I'll go into that later. I got my nitpicks
Coy. I'm very curious. I got my nitpicks. I got my nitpicks.
Do you want to talk about this or Elena or Helk?
But I can I can also have a nitpick and immediately move past it.
Yeah. That's why it's a nitpick. I will
explain my nitpick but that doesn't mean I had the
nitpick moment happen and then I was like
well now I can't fucking enjoy the rest of the scene
because I will also totally own the other direction.
I will completely admit that I am blind to so many flaws because for two and a half hours away,
Spider-Man, I will totally own the other direction.
But you know what I mean?
Like I'm sure I would have problems if it wasn't Spider-Man.
And I was just happy as foot.
I am not a working writer, you know, I love to write.
I'm not a working writer.
But because I have writer aspiration brain, I will part of when I write, I'm like, oh, this logically doesn't make sense.
So that's where I that's where my nipstick comes in is where I'm like, but wait a minute, that feels awfully convenient.
Sure.
That's why I'll notice these things, even though I'm not a professional working writer.
But you're right thing.
The way my brain works.
You don't have to get paid to have your brain work.
Yeah, I know.
I know.
Anyway.
That'd be a nice perk.
So the spa.
Yelena's presence, first off, I'll make this abundantly clear.
I, I prefer Yelena over.
I like Black Widow, especially way.
I like Scarlett Johansson, Natasha, way more than ever as we've been doing this rewatch.
I've never really gravitated towards her the way I've been gravitating towards her now.
Even with that feeling, I will still say I prefer Yelena over Natasha.
I like watching Yelena's journey.
And I know she gets kind of crapped on a lot on the internet, too, for her kind of humor and such.
But Black Widow, she's the highlight.
I fucking love her in New Avengers.
I liked her appearance at Hawkeye.
I love, love her.
In this movie, I actually found her inclusion to be not.
I feel like they could have written at a different movie or they didn't have her.
Her humor just didn't work for me.
And there's the one time where I'm like,
not really feeling the humor for her.
And especially in that spa scene,
there was something just off.
I like seeing Tom Holland's body.
Like, man,
the guy's fucking jacked.
The mask bit was,
I like the feet coming up in the water.
That visual joke was so good for me.
But she, I don't know, it just felt like a scene that, especially with the way how it plays out, it felt like something bigger for MCU stuff instead of something that needed to be in this specific movie.
Like, okay, I like the joke, the small, but I kind of like the joke.
I'm not a big fan of it.
The small potatoes, big potatoes.
Like, I feel like they're trying to just establish something big and make it clear.
This is street level and where we're at in the timeline and stuff.
But there was something about her inclusion in this that just, I just felt like, I did it.
You could have just, you would, you could have gotten to the same DODC conclusion.
It would just answer them going, I could just go to the DOC.
It's like the main thing he needed was to hear the word VMAX to set that up.
That was the main part he needed.
I think the computer scene was more important than the spa scene.
The computer.
Oh, when they's when Ned is.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Absolutely.
I think we needed her there.
I also think the last beat where she got, where we get a conclusion on Tremel Tillman's,
uh, Bill Metzker, um, there's a line about how she's helping.
And I think that was important.
I think we needed someone that was like a high up behind the scenes.
Because my first watch,
I thought VMAX was the only point of that scene.
But then on second watch,
I realized you needed someone in a position of power
and you needed some connection to like the powers that be
and that couldn't be Punisher or Hulk because they're outsiders.
So you needed an insider.
I would have liked it if it felt kind of like the Insomnia at games to me.
The way it played out like a cut scene to me.
Yeah.
I'm going to go get help.
I'm going to go venture off to this level and interact with this character.
So there were parts of that.
on that level that I enjoy.
And I personally loved the Zoom scene.
Like I was,
I was iffy on the spa scene.
I was like,
it's fine.
I think it goes on a little too long.
But the Zoom scene I thought was so funny.
The interaction with MJ and Ned was great.
Like that made up for me feeling kind of neutral on the spa scene.
I felt like I was supposed to laugh more at this pa scene than I did.
But then I got the information and the fun of it later.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So when it's sound like I'm a Yelena hater here because I really love her.
I hope the preface is factored in.
know everything I've already made it clear that women belong in the kitchen. So that's true.
As long as people know that up front, you can talk. That are naked in the pool. I mean,
either one. You got both. Um, what I, uh, yeah, there's, I still, there's a part of me that does,
I get what you're saying. I agree. Like, yes, I see how they justified her being there.
It did still feel to me that. Tad on, they had to justify her being there versus this is the
natural. I think like Peter could have solved it or fuck it. There could have been a version where
he uses Ned to kind of like get in there.
there in some way, like gets Ned's help with Ned's the computer guy.
Yeah.
So, or like he gets a chance to be guy in the chair again, and he would love to help Peter out.
Sure.
So there were elements where I felt like they could have kept it a little more focus there.
And there were some people.
It was funny when I watched it because there's a lot of people who don't keep up with the
MCU that much anymore, but they're like, but I love Spider-Man.
And then they were so confused.
Who is this woman?
When you lay out, they were like, what's happening right?
They were so long, like, New Avengers what's going on?
That's funny.
Because, yeah, I mean, that's, Thunderbolts was not seen by as many as should have.
No, no.
But yeah, okay.
There we go.
That's not part.
I got that on my, I got that off my chest.
He feels better.
David Loka's thing, moment of science thinking, my friend.
Navy descent.
Thank you.
Hi, guys.
Hope you're both well.
So do we think Ned remembering Peter was due to his latent magic tease?
And I forgot about that.
That he's, that he's, that might actually be a decent explanation, though.
I know muscle memory is a thing, but because we, I don't.
did debate about this with some people where it's like, well, you know, MJ was touching him and got
the letter and she was swinging around with him. So like it wasn't a, you would think those physical
moments would then jog her memory if it is a physical sensation thing. Yeah. I think they were
giving a little more hints though that there was a part of Ned that did remember already. I think
the Peter moment is one of two things. When she drops the name Peter, when MJ says Peter. If they
don't want to reveal that their memories are coming back. Because they could allow for Gene to do that.
I think that might be something down the line of like,
Gene can bring those memories back.
She can literally like Peter has those memories.
And like she also might be able to like, you know,
uncover that.
That's right.
That was one of our theories that she would do.
So I was thinking maybe with all the pressure and with all the stuff and maybe that's
something we get down the line.
But I think that Peter moment was either the muscle memory, which is implied here,
which is him remembering Peter Parker.
I think it's Peter being Spider-Man.
And it's him realizing he's meeting Spider-Man.
Yeah.
Because when he swung out and he's like, Spider-Man's name's Peter,
All he said was Peter.
He didn't say Peter Parker.
And the beauty of that interaction is we can imply it's him remembering his best friend or we can imply he's meeting Spider-Man.
Okay, yeah.
Like it's two totally different answers.
On the second viewing, I thought the latter.
Yeah, because it isn't a realization of total familiarity, but it's excitement.
Yeah.
And that's a great.
It's allowing what Destin got with No Way Home.
The next director, whether it's Destin or someone else, can interpret whether he wants.
Because that's one of the bummers about the home trilogy.
That's when Spider-Man throws the lightsaber over his shoulder in the next one.
But I love the home trilogy
My problem with it is
It always ends up
That you pick back up
And you're like
Well we solve that problem
Like they were clearly supposed
To do a Craven's last hunt
At the end when Spider-Bans' identities reveal
Do you imagine Destin Daniel
Credin doing a Craven's last hunt?
The darkness. Oh my God
That would be so good
But then we didn't do it because they wanted to do it
At the end of Homecoming they set up Aunt May
And we didn't do it
They were just like she's cool
And this movie did a great job
Like re-contextualizing a lot of stuff
They recontextualized SpiderSense
They gave us
the scene we always wanted with Aunt May talking to Peter.
So I think that Destin very intentionally wanted to give an ending that someone himself included could pick up.
I hope.
The way he talks about it, it sounds like he wants to do the sequel.
I would like that very much.
All right.
After Naruto.
Naruto.
That's a forever manga.
That's a real, I don't know how you would.
You need to map out like eight movies at least.
Nick Alexander, I love this movie.
X-Men character individually in other movies.
leading to an X-Men movie is fun.
Spidey now cross-pass with Punisher, Matt Murdoch,
Daredevil. Kingpin next? What do you want next?
Yeah, a Kingpin is,
Kingpin's the ultimate one.
And then do a dare, like, I love,
I love the idea of brand new day trilogy,
bring, folding this world in,
that you can bring Kingpin in.
Yeah. Or you can bring Daredevil in properly
into the next one.
Like, that really make it street level.
That excites me. I would personally,
I personally think you got, you got to get kingpin.
You have to have him fight Kingpan.
And please stay street level for a trilogy.
Even the black suit can be street level.
He wears the black suit for a lot of the gang war stuff.
I really hope Sony lets them do Craven.
They can do Craven.
We got to wait a while, though.
He's just no Destin' Dale Crower would do like the best version.
Yeah, dude.
Oh, that would be so fucking amazing.
They could do it like the Michael, the Bendis one where he's a reality show.
I love that.
I mean, that's, then Cass are and Taylor Johnson again.
I think, uh,
Personally, I'd love Kingpin.
I want an actual Black Suit trilogy.
I think not only are Venom and Card in two of my favorite characters in all of comics,
but we never got Venom with Spider-Man.
Like the Sam Ramee Spider-Man 3 is not, not a good time.
And then Venom never interacted with Spider-Man.
We've even teased it with Post-Credit stuff like Tom Hardy and Tom Holland.
The Tom's haven't met.
So I don't think we might, I don't know if we'll get that,
but I would love to see BlackSuit Spider-Man trilogy lead to Venom, a real one.
making a note we got to also talk about
i mean no one's asking about zendaya obviously but
i i do really want at some point to talk about her because i thought she was
brilliant in this movie and also sunda's boyfriend
there's all those theories but they've got a theory they can still amount to something
though i've got to think about him let's uh let's move on here
chadwick meyers thank you buddy all's forgiveness passes are 100% okay with me when they feel
earned when they feel genuine i like how you were in the stream labs you came
over here to finish off this thought.
Respect.
Or begin to make amends for it like Ramey's Spider-Man or Wanda, but I don't feel
Gene earned it at all.
Well, it's the ending of it.
And I don't think the public has, there's still so much aftermath we have not explored
yet of that.
It's the same way people felt with Wanda vision.
When it ended with Wanda at the end, the crowd looks at her and then she just goes away.
So we didn't explore the aftermath, but in the sequel, she's like, I'm bad.
I'm going to go after, get my kids down in another universe.
now.
There's still,
this was part one of Gene Gray's story.
There's definitely got to be repercussions.
And like I said,
I ran to a few minutes ago.
I think that's intentional.
They didn't make her a hero in the end.
She said Peter,
but like,
that's,
that's where people complain about Wanda Vision
was they try to paint her
as a hero in the end.
Yeah.
And,
uh,
which she wasn't.
And then here they're not.
She,
she does get to get away,
but it's not going to be without consequences.
Agreed.
I'd be surprised.
Punisher's going to find her and shoot her.
Hey, kid.
Sorry, Red.
Sorry, Red.
K.B. Kev, the poet.
I'm not going to be able to root for Gene Gray.
Wow, here we go.
In future movies,
after the kiss and the attempt to murders.
Fuck, Hiddell.
There's a lot of people who really have shit for her.
This is the stuff I saw.
I thought she was brilliant.
They need to do a lot of redeeming.
Okay, first off, that rooftop scene?
Amazing.
I've seen people watch it.
And I had the thought.
too. What I love about that scene is when they're first on the roof and then when Zendaya's like
remembering him, kisses him, I love Tom Holland's performance in that moment where he's like
breaking down. And you buy that Tom Holland would, that Peter would buy into it because he's been
so lonely and desperate. Yeah, he doesn't see the obvious tell which they gave the audience the website.
Right. But but at the same time when when I noticed that myself and Cleveland people were first
watching, I'm, I'm not thinking that Zendaya's possessed by it. I didn't. I didn't the first
time. But my mind is going, well, that's fucking convenient. Like my mind does do that. Like, wow, what a
convenient little turn you have here for her. And then when she switches and reveals that, oh, this is
actually Jean Grey, Zendaya's turn in that moment and the way that whole, like the directing,
I love Giacchino's score in this. There's like all these horror tones that he provides whenever you're
in the presence of Jean Grey for the first half of the movie, whether that she's inhabiting someone
or not. I love the tones. And yeah, like I think Zendaya's performance there. I love the
switch when she's falling.
Yeah.
And then you let her experience the terror of falling halfway through the fall.
It's so fucked.
I love how fucked up that.
Yeah.
Yes.
I don't understand.
I guess some people have this expectation that they wanted.
Like, how would you win then?
Like, Gene has to be a villain in this movie.
To make that narrative work.
She is a villain.
Then if she's not a villain, then people are going to be like, well, there wasn't a
real villain in this movie.
So it's like you can't win either way.
But that is kind of the point of the redemption, right?
I feel like we have characters like that in all kinds of worlds.
when a person's bad,
but then they become good over time.
Punisher.
He's bad.
Black Widow's done some messed up shit.
I mean,
we got Game with Thrones worlds
where we follow characters
all the time
who were once terrible.
The three supporting,
that's what I'm saying.
Everyone in this movie
is to serve that plot point.
Yeah.
Three other heroes in this movie
have all done stuff.
Yeah.
That's the point of casting Punisher Hulk
and Black Widow.
Like, that's what I'm saying.
It all serves that point.
I know there's like a really obvious moment
where someone was definitely like a bad person.
I mean,
Barry Zemo's out here dancing.
That happens in a lot like,
Leon Marvel that Loki's one.
Loki's one.
I said Loki.
I said,
but I don't think we live in a culture.
Loki just watched videotapes in the TVA.
And he has a whole character arc right there.
But I don't think we live in a culture of shades of gray anymore.
I think that people love canceling people.
I think people love to see someone fall.
Yeah.
Like there's nothing better to someone that wants success than to see someone successful.
fall from success. I think human nature
is like, so I don't
think redemption is something people
are excited by
until they see it happen.
Loki's the best example.
He's a great example. I mean, there's a whole TV show
where he's literally a hero.
Yeah. We're seeing him as a hero
in Avengers. In Avengers one, he was
the villain of Avengers. In Avengers
Doom's Day, he'll be a hero.
And he had Avengers one,
he goes to that museum and kills that guy
by taking his eye. He kills. He's a
Gene Gray does not kill.
He's a terrorist.
Yeah.
He also gets in people's minds.
Yeah.
Just like Gene.
I think it's short-sighted for people to think that personally.
Well, the movie had a fascinating commentary on, it's kind of like obsession in a way.
Where it was like a peak in, and it's kind of like the obsession commentary of like lack of autonomy and choice.
Yeah.
That's like when Zendaya, I'll take the moment to talk about them, when Zendaya finds the letter.
And I think the, especially on a reword.
watch. I'm like, damn, they really planted the letter being there in a really good, like,
I love that she asked if you wanted me to read it. Yeah. Because it was planted in a way that could
have been left for her. But also the recontextualization of like, he stole something from her,
the way how she was viewing it. Like, oh, yeah, that's kind of like fucked up. Yeah.
I like how you actually, there are times where you have to kind of question is Peter being a little
selfish with some of his intentions here? Like they've, he let go, he was supposed to let go
them they moved on with their lives and he's still like following them and everything the ship was so
painful it was a painful scene and like his love confession how she doesn't feel it and then uh yeah but
and then how jean gray takes control of people's minds and it takes where their control so i i like
that the movie actually has an awareness of it and again the thematic mirroring even with peter
erasing everyone's mind and then you have jean who takes over people and they don't have any memory of
that shit so their mind's actually being erased in those present moments
and being taken advantage of.
So I think there's like cool linkage that they do here.
I totally agree.
But she's a woman.
Yeah.
Fuck her.
Gotta make sure that's clear at the end of every time I talk about Gene Gray.
Actually, I get what you guys are saying.
I do actually.
I know we don't really attract that crowd here unless people want to troll.
Got to get them clips.
What's that name?
I can't read it.
My glasses need to improve.
The zipper gun boogie.
Hell yeah.
I love that the intro song.
song Wolf Like Me basically told us what the central theme of the movie is.
That was sick.
I don't know what the song is.
I don't either.
I know a lot of people have been bragging about the soundtrack.
And I actually listen to a couple songs.
I'm like, this is a bump.
But I don't know that song well enough to comment.
Yeah.
But that's cool.
I'm glad you caught that.
Thanks for pointing that out.
I'm sure Eric Boss will do a great job.
Breaking it all down.
David Lucas.
So I have a feeling that Gene being the villain of the movie is setting the stage for the anti-mutant people.
and the fear of mutants to citizens of the MCU
will have while we all love them.
Yeah, that's exactly what Koi was 100% getting at.
I mean, I think we need to be a world that hates and fears them
and we need to see them.
It's a really cool meta thing of like earning the public's trust
will be our journey too.
Yeah.
Like I think it's very intentional.
Yeah, but I just had a lot of performance.
I thought it was great.
I had a lot less of these problems.
because I personally had a great time with it.
I like the change that they did with Sarah
to make, it's an efficient way
to do some of her backstory,
really distinguish it from the rest of the
X-Men interpretations of her.
Also, Claremont wanted to make her
tied to Cerebro and have powers and shit.
Like, there was talk of Sarah getting powers.
I mean, I've never cared about Sarah Gray that much,
but I thought this was a very useful way
to make me care about Sarah.
I like the way the hopping was visualized, too.
Yeah, that was like a whole,
team in the credits for like choreography and stunt people and all that stuff on that yeah it's it's it's so
simple yeah like it's just but it's it's performance like it's a sync synchronicity of camera
whip pants and performance and uh sound design yeah it really was effective because there's no like
visual like it got to be the actors i would love to hop into people i would love to be jean gray
yeah do everything that she did i would specifically go after all you people who are talking shit on her
Yeah.
Because she's a real person.
I told you.
It was most of the comments.
I see.
Yeah.
My personal friend,
Gene Gray.
Kotar.
I have to really defend fictional people.
Kotar Peck.
Of all the different ways
that Mekyu has tried to introduce mutants and her X-Men ideas.
I do genuinely think this is the best way they've done it so far.
Just saying they've always been there.
Yeah,
I think,
uh,
fucking Miss Marvel.
Miss Marvel was the first one to do it.
People kind of forget about that.
I think it's smart to have like an X-Gene
just start activating.
Like, that's how evolution works.
It just starts.
So I think, you know, don't make it, you know, if you wanted to make an event,
I think the M of House would have been effective years ago.
But now that the MCU is going so long, I think this is the best way.
I agree.
Hell yeah.
The young MD, I thought Gene was the glue of the movie.
A real standout.
More love for the art.
Love to the real reject.
Special thanks to John for doing all the friends' reactions while I was in the hospital.
Thanks to Koi for all the call-uporrexel.
Thank you, buddy.
Happy to give them, young MD.
Hopefully you're feeling better.
you buds.
Just James.
Hey,
hey,
now we're seeing the
reversal here.
Oh shit.
I thought Sadie,
we're seeing a lot of love
because we were defending
and the people I feel like
that are on our side are now.
Like,
I would like to also be in here.
I thought Sadie Sink was a standout
in the film as Gene.
I can't wait to see how she continues
to evolve in the X-Men movies.
She has a bright future as an actress.
I completely agree, man.
I was,
I have ever since,
I mean,
yeah, stranger things,
obviously,
she's incredible in that.
It was her work in the whale
and I was like,
damn, this girl's fucking amazing.
I hope she's got like a 10 picture deal.
I really hope like because I want a lot of X-Men.
I want a lot of Gene Gray.
It's going to do.
It was so smart to introduce her in this.
Yeah, I didn't think I would like the idea of introducing her.
I know you were always all for it for like two years.
Yeah, I think they did a great job with her.
And you know what?
No, no, let's keep going.
Hulk inhibitor.
Got to talk about it.
Brooke 5-2.
Big time jump after Secret Wars.
Gene and Tachala 2, both age up to the late 20s, early 30s,
and the other new X-Men will be a little.
similar age.
I mean, I don't even think they need to do a time jump.
Puberty is when your ex-gene activates, so you're a teenager, and then I don't mind
Tachala being in his 20s and them as teenagers.
Well, it sounds like Black Panther 3 is going to be repercussions of after Secret Wars, right?
But like I still, I think of David Johnson.
I think he's 30-something, but he looks 20-something, so I think he'll be in his 20s.
Like, because he's the grown-up kid Tachala.
Yeah, but kid Tachala is like two.
in the end of the post-crows.
It's like 10 or something.
But we don't know when Wakanda Forever
ties into a brand new day.
True.
Remember,
there was a little time jump.
Like this,
this takes place in 2026, I think,
because the tomb,
the grave is 24.
So we don't know when Wakanda forever.
I don't think any of this really matters.
Four years after no way home, this movie.
Yeah.
Okay.
So that means, you know,
we could have that with Wakanda forever
and have it be like 10 years later.
If the kid was two and is now,
18, 20.
I'd buy that.
I'm not there with you,
Coy, whatever makes you happy.
That's what, yeah, it makes me happy.
Jay, Mr. Cinemon's reactions.
We'd be interested to see the react to the videos,
especially movies you didn't,
don't like much love from South Africa.
Thank you, Jay.
I still watch Cinema wins from time to time.
Oh, we got a big one here.
Thank you so much.
That's a very generous one.
Youssef, not Yensen, but Yusuf.
He's our Yensen.
He's our Yensen today.
Thank you, buddy.
Absolutely love the movie.
movie. It's been really fun seeing you guys evolve. Seeing us evolve like mutants.
It's because I've been under so much stress. I've been watching you guys since the first
the amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer. Don't think the Spider-Man fatigies is. Oh, it does not.
Does not. Do you think there'll be Spider-Man movies 100 years from now? Spider-Man is the one
that prevails. You know, it's, I think it's what's really cool about this is that they allowed
them to evolve their Spider-Man movies.
movie because it has it's essentially still leading the charge of superhero cinema like isn't it out
performing avengers end game in game today on the opening box out like i don't preview night was
10 million more than end game like well that's without imax and that's also without like movies like
like this hasn't there has not been a spider man movie in five years and nothing led to this directly
yeah and nor is it relying on is there going to be a crossover of three spider man movie 70 million
dollars just off spider man just off the spider man that is that was really impressive i didn't think it would
outdo like no way home and all that just because it's because of you know the again the not the the the what's the
the word the gimmee box office of people that want to know the mystery there's no I guess gene but like
there's not that scale of mystery no just a good movie yeah it's just a good movie and I've seen it's
wise already I can't wait to see it again but thank you dude thank you so much for watching for so long
run man amazing sped around too that's awesome those trailers are awesome they marketed the shit and
revealed everything in those traders.
That was fun.
Those were the days when I would rush home from being a receptionist at the doctor's office.
Like, I got a shoot at my lunch break and go back.
I remember I saw Amazing Spider-Man 2 at the Vista and the post-credit scene was an X-Men
trailer.
And I was like, what?
There's an X-Men trailer?
There's a post-credit scene?
Yeah.
The end of Amazing Spider-Man 2 post-credit scene was like for an echo.
I was like, Fox, Sony, none of this makes any sense.
And no one else gave a shit.
I was like, why is there an X-Men thing at the end of Spider-Man?
Which movie?
We pull it up.
Is it Dark Phoenix?
Maybe.
I just remember being gobsmacked.
They did that?
I don't recall that at all.
Let me see.
Let me see.
Go to the next question.
Are you sure you're right about that?
Maybe I had a stroke.
Ron H.
I now want a spidey Madam Webb film.
That's Koi's dream since day one.
Yeah, I wrote a whole pitch.
That's what he's been pitching this entire time.
I actually do have a good how Madam Webb could be important and shape the entire thing.
And they didn't listen to me.
Do you want them to, because you have the Sony Spider-Riverse.
Strike it.
Do you want them to completely strike it?
So like not even, not ever get the venom, Tom Hardy.
I would like just venom, but he didn't tie to the other ones.
I mean, he almost did.
That almost is important.
He wasn't technically in an MTA movie for a couple minutes.
But you could totally do Venom without the rest.
And I also, in a way, would like a new Venom.
I love, I think Tom Hardy is a great casting choice, but I don't think he wants to play him into his 60s.
And I want Venom to be in Spider-Man.
We do have to eventually get a proper venom in us.
Spider-Man.
Alan Ritchson.
You think so.
Dude, look at that man.
That is Eddie Brock.
He's the right age.
He's the right size.
He is charming, but also intense.
I could.
I saw him like punch the hell out of that idiot neighbor and I wanted venom so much right then.
I could see it.
I mean, people forget Eddie Brock is supposed to be like a jack dude.
Yeah, dude.
Alan Richardson.
He's my venom.
He actually would work.
Thank you.
Huh.
Have I not told you this before?
It's been my dream.
Yeah, dude.
He's my venom.
He's my 80s.
Todd McFarlane Venom.
What about Craven?
Ten years ago is Gerard Butler.
Shallame.
Definitely shallomay.
If they do a serious one,
and they let age be like,
if it's okay, he's a little older,
I think.
Javier Bardem.
Yeah.
Oh, really?
Yeah, I think he'd be incredible.
Robert De Niro.
De Niro, if they let him age.
Al Pacino.
But Javier Badegh,
when he uh his role in dune for some reason i thought would be a good zealot like a guy that's obsessed
with like herbs and like wants to corrupt his body to be strong enough to fight spider man he's this
passion i like i could i could see that and what about australian reality show guy if they did
the australian version i want australian reality show bend his version uh jy courtney oh actually
i'm here all day folks i got your casting that'd be funny as hell dude i'd watch the hell out of that
amazing spider man too
Post credits.
I'll check my notes.
There's stuff that we didn't talk about yet.
X-Men Days of Future Past was the post-credit scene for Amazing Spider-Man 2.
It was, okay.
How weird is that?
What was that choice?
That makes no sense to me.
A Fox movie promoted on a Sony property that neither are connected.
Anyway, blew my mind.
Can we hop back to the streamlines real quick?
Just to check.
While we're doing this, what's your, okay, so while Ray's pulling that up.
Yes.
MJ has a boyfriend who's credited as boyfriend in the credits.
We were all like, is it Harry Osborne?
it still very well could be Harry Osborne.
Solis Corporation.
They didn't reveal who his name was.
He clearly's got like money.
I think the way his like pompous attitude was to Ned.
Yep.
The way he like butter edified him.
Yeah, that kind of shit.
Yeah.
This feels hairy.
And also like.
And I think they didn't.
I'm pretty sure they cut some shit.
They don't cast that that guy is a working actor.
Not a day player.
He's fucking one of the main people in the Osoka show.
You know, he's not just some dude you put in there to be boyfriend.
He's dead.
definitely someone they set up to be something more.
I think Harry, I also think there's probably an implication of like she took the interview
to appease him.
She never wanted the job.
Yeah.
I think Harry Osborne getting her an interview at Oscorp and her never wanting it.
Oh, yeah.
There's so many layers to it, dude.
I like that a lot.
I got you.
I'll take care of you.
Come interview at Oscourt.
Oh, yeah.
Trying to impress his dad.
She's kidnapped and everything and she won't even go to her boyfriend about it.
Withholding.
I think it's Harry Oscar.
Hey, you know, that does work.
That does work.
Do you think Gwen would be introduced in the next movie?
It's tricky because of no way home.
Because, like, he's talked about a Gwen to a Spider-Man.
This is the only way these young lovers who are now married and hook up with other people.
And that way.
It's on camera.
Zendaya's got to be there on set.
There's a real emotion when Tom Holland watched Zendaya kiss another guy.
Yeah.
He's just like,
upset and I'm like, we film it.
They weren't supposed to kiss.
Catch this.
Catch it.
Whoa.
Whoa, Tom.
I mean, Spider, man.
Got my bully McGuire.
I did like, that was when I, I was, I had a real moment.
I was like, I was, uh, just listening to it.
Seth Myers interview.
Uh, wasn't even watching it.
And then he's Tom Holland does.
I don't know if this is when he revealed it.
But I was just listening to it.
And he goes, well, me, my wife's in this movie.
Never one clapped.
Yeah.
And I was like, I was like, oh, we're just like, fucking.
She, you are married.
happy for them. They're so cute. I know, man.
Fucking, they are so rich.
Oh, God. Odyssey
and Spider-Man. Oh, my God.
Are they loaded right now? Every movie selling out
the other to the point it's pushing other screens and both their movies.
They're going to be so, like, the number two, one and two for the next few weeks.
It's fucking insane.
They're both just vibing. So rich.
So happy for them. So rich.
The key to happiness and marriage.
Wealth and fame.
Yeah.
Pressure.
Public scrutiny. That's what makes a good marriage.
Oh, my God.
I'm happy for him. I want them to do.
And one of my favorites,
uh, swinging, web swinging scenes that I thought was so,
this is when I feel like the, the visual, like on terms of web swinging,
just want to go like some one of the things just want to throw out there is, um,
you know the visual effects are great. Like when he's swinging in the,
in the rain at night when he's all sad.
Yeah.
And it looks so real.
And like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's not even in a suit.
It's just Tom Hons.
I'm like, man, this looks real.
Yeah.
Or when after.
after MJ's like, I don't love you
and he has to take her home.
That's sad swing and it's the one arm.
And he's just like,
dejectedly letting go.
Why is the shot so effective?
It's so somber.
It's like I've never been less excited
to watch a web swing,
but I'm still thrilled.
Yeah.
Ah, the visual effects and this are great.
Yeah, it's a really special movie.
Where are we out here?
D. Wood 5.
This is the first movie in a long time
where I walked away wanting more of every character.
The ending credits where it just was a New York scene
pushed me,
Fish this into a 4.5 out of 5 for me.
Love that New York's a character in this.
I'm about a 4.5 out of 5.
Yeah.
I'm like a 91.92.
I loved it.
I think we missed Stephen, though.
No, we didn't.
The Frank scene?
He compares himself to Frank.
I don't think we talked about that.
Yeah, we did.
That's when we launched into the Punisher.
Doing great, guys.
Oh, yeah, you're right.
I remember that now.
Okay.
Boss Greg active.
Dance for Live.
I just got out from the movie.
It's 8.7 out of 10 for me.
So freaking good.
A little detail liked is before the rooftop.
When MJ is swinging with Peter,
she wasn't screaming or scared,
which is why she wasn't MJ.
Ooh,
good catch.
Well,
that's what I was saying earlier.
Like,
I love that they gave the audience
and obvious tell that she was inhabited
because she hates web swinging
and she didn't.
And he even asked,
are you okay?
And so we knew.
Oh, okay.
And then in the way home,
she's terrified.
Yeah, you're right.
You're right.
Isn't that great?
They gave us like a literal
paying attention or not.
And that was awesome
Because the second viewing I was like, fuck, they said the quiet part out lap.
Now we need exposition at all times.
Yeah, say the quiet part out.
Let's go back to Supertis.
Here we go.
WDW family.
Love the show, love the movie.
Coe had been a fan system.
Marvel movie news days.
Damn.
Kho and Caleb are noobs.
Marvel movie news was a decade ago now almost.
Because I started there like right after Winter Soldier.
Wow. Because I was doing Winter Soldier solo and then movie we do it. So God damn. Let's go here. Ron H. Kyes, I'm kind of nugged up. Is that a Hollywood reference?
Is that what the kids are calling it, nugged up? I would love to do one of these high one day, a live stream. Yeah, that'd be fun. I've never done. I think it's doing drunk. You be drunk. I'll be high. I'll be so fun, dude. I'm so down.
You'd be sober, Ray. I swear to God. Ray, you got to press the ball.
buttons. We pay you to be sober.
Which buttons? So we can operate. However, we wolf a Wall Street.
Is there any, like, drunk, if there's, like, a drunk movie, like, if there's something about, like, being altered, we'll cover that altered.
We can't tell you, too.
Yeah. We should do, like, a movie about alcoholism.
And then...
Isn't there one with Matt Nicholson? He's like, the big drink or something.
There's like a drinking movie.
We did the Nick Cage, when we won an Oscar for it.
Or Super Super Super 3.
That's like a fun drunk. We should do, like, a serious movie.
Like a bad alcoholism.
And we really die.
Take the piss out of it.
Let's get drunk and laugh at it.
One of my favorite drinking movies is Le Miz.
I haven't seen Lay Mitz.
It's a great movie to drink too.
If you drink it every time the crow lands, he has a different hat on or someone cries
themselves to death, you are hammered because people are often like cry singing themselves
to death.
Really?
Yeah.
Top Gun, Lay Miz, and Lost Boys are my favorite drinking movies.
Top Gun anytime they say a call name.
I've seen two out of three of those.
Have you seen Top Gun?
Yeah.
Okay.
Lost boys anytime they say Michael, because they say his name.
all the time.
So it's an easy word.
It's like, Michael, Michael, Top Gun, anytime they say a call name.
So it's like Maverick, Coos, Ice, Man.
You make it like 30 minutes.
That's intense.
It's a lot.
It's a lot of drinking.
I do like the drinking.
Guys, the movie about alcoholism is about me.
Just, uh, prod, just,
J-Star Productions.
Yep.
See, I'm not drunk yet.
Hi, guys.
Love your reactions to the movie.
It really feels like an amalgamation of everything Spider-Man that came before.
Movies, 90s animation, Spider-Verse, but also games like Asimnac.
You mean the OG Marvel versus Capcom games.
yes sir indeed i would say it's the ultimate spider-man movie
i really think it is though like i think it is the culmination of 65 years
i'm glad most people are happy with this movie me too think most people are most people are
and it's funny because i liked it so much there is that defensiveness and someone says i'm like
fuck you i'm like no they have their opinion it's okay it's okay to have it the presupping
isaac thank you isaic just saying i noticed some parallels between tony and doom and your civil
war commentary when Greg said he singled out his mom dying in Dooms mural.
Oh, yeah.
No, I, the more we've been doing this, the more I've been seeing how the writers were
able to weave that.
I can see how they can justify it.
He better not be Tony.
Why not?
There's a word that I can't condone that I am implying I'm saying here.
It would be that.
It would be fine, man.
Okay.
Man, I'm surprised no one was talking about.
Hulk was the most advertised thing and no one's brought up a Hulk.
See that crazy?
Because the movie's Spider-Man.
They did it.
Ron H. She's got two here.
Ray, come on, Ray.
Don't go all trigger happy, Ray.
Is this Ghostbusters?
Ray or is that Rayora.
Is it Rayora?
Chef Pleasures, L-O-L.
I don't know this.
Who's Rayora?
I don't know what's happening.
Well, Ray, look it up.
You're the guy in the chair.
We think we're working hard here.
Yeah.
Saying whatever it comes to mind.
Without prep, just saying shit.
And you're just there?
Come on, Ray.
Who's Ray?
tracking the stream.
That's an aura ring.
That doesn't help us at all.
I like those.
I hear they work well.
No, no.
A-O-R-A.
Ray-O-R-A.
Oh, is Ray-O-R-A from John Campia show?
Yeah, yeah.
Ray-O-R-A.
Everyone.
Once I saw it spelled.
on Google. I'm like, wait a minute. I know
that name. No, different right.
This one is
not Filipino.
I identify everyone in by race.
Everyone knows this.
Well, actually, he identifies as Filipino or not
Filipino. It actually, there's not, it's black
and white. It's either Filipino or not.
That's it. Ramos, binges films. I was fully
locked in and prep read like
90 plus comics before a brand new day.
And it was. Ramos.
Worth it because it felt like such a comic issue
to issues. Yeah, that's what we were saying earlier by like every, it felt like a graphic novel
where like, okay, this part is page is one of six. This is two of six right here. I can't really
explain it. But does anyone know what I mean? Yeah, we fully know what you mean. We do and agree.
Fully, man. I'm glad you have to have sometimes the prep work is fun. Sometimes it ruins the
experience, but other times it's really fun. I find when a movie's good, it usually helps and when a
movie's bad, it hurts. But sometimes it is like a case by case you can separate. I think Civil War is a
very interesting example.
Yeah, that's true.
Jake, love the film.
Love you guys.
Love from the UK.
A lot of love, Jake.
We appreciate it.
Thanks, brough.
Oh, my God.
A big one here.
Thank you so much for such a generous one.
Hutt my butt.
Hutt my butt.
It's not cut, right.
I love this name.
Hut my butt.
Love the movie.
But one thing I don't like,
and I can't be convinced otherwise.
Get ready for it.
Keith David was wasted.
You hired the coolest voice actor.
The voice was used in the trailer,
only to make him a YouTube narrator.
You're hearing the background of one
scene. That is fair. They did tease and people were like, who is Keith David Blake?
My favorite rumor is that he was Jackal. And I was like, yo, if they do clone saga, though.
Who does he voice in the animated series? He's either in the Tombstone. Yeah, I think just season one.
Spectacular Spider-Man, right? Yeah. I mean, he's one of the most iconic voices.
He's incredible. Silver tongue on social media. He is someone who they could. People thought he might
have actually been voicing Tombstone in the live action, like get the actual actor, but then.
Oh, that's funny.
But no, man, I can't fault you for that, dude.
I mean, at the end of the day, they use the famous voice of Keith David front.
Like, he's in the background here.
You have to pay attention.
But in the trailer, he's like a front and center sound.
This is Keith.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So them setting up an expectation, I completely can't fault you for having that.
But, hey, it led you to giving us a very generous super chat.
So we appreciate it.
It's come off great in our end.
We thank you.
Thank you so much.
and Hunt, but, Matt, Matilla, the Hun.
Thanks, guys, for all you do.
Love this film.
Feels like Destin was 100% shaking hands with the home trilogy and decided to fast forward
post into the Spidey of the 80s prior to his marriage.
Oh, hell yeah.
Yeah, that's the bronze age I was talking about when someone asked what comics to read.
That's exactly what I felt like they did.
And one of the things we talked about in our conversation was he had a story he wanted to tell.
And then the tonality informed what characters.
And then it was plugging and playing.
adjusting characters according to that.
So you can feel that in the film.
That's true.
That's true.
Thank you guys so much.
Ray, can you do a quick scroll up?
I want to just count really quick.
One, two, three, four, five.
Huh.
Huh.
Hey.
Huh.
Huh.
Huh.
Ha.
Huh.
Ha.
Ha.
I'm going to use this moment then to talk about Hulk before we speed through these.
Okay.
Hulk in this.
I love the banner scene a lot.
The,
um,
It's funny.
Like we talked about it too.
Coy was because I was bringing up my punisher.
Like to him when the camera wasn't wrong.
Like,
we punishers a criminal.
Why is he in the hospital?
You're like,
oh,
fucking like destroyed half of Harlem.
I was like,
bro,
he's teaching around children and he killed many people.
But my defense is we know he's helped save the universe though.
That's like a big thing.
It's like everyone,
it seems like it was reported,
everyone who was involved in helping to save the universe.
So I think that's why they give him a pass.
and a chance of redemption here.
I'm not sure what it really was.
It really felt like I loved the Bruce Banner scene so much.
The moment when he realizes that he's actually,
you know what it is?
He's clearly mocked by his students.
He can't get any of them to listen the whole time.
They just want to hear Hulk stories.
And then the one of the one superhero actually decides to talk to him,
has no interest in talking about the Hulk with him,
but understanding the science behind this thing.
And that little spark and just the mood of the conversation and getting to seem actually really be Dr. Bruce Banner in that moment and have the philosophical conversation about power suppression and what that can all mean.
And maybe there's something that needs to be expressed.
It felt it was one of my favorite Mark Ruffalo scenes that we've ever gotten.
And I mean, how about you?
I loved that it felt like it was the scientist, but also a guy that has that twitch of like there's an undercurrent.
But he felt like confident for a moment.
like he really trusted in the science.
Like he trusted in the inhibitor.
So I really loved that he got to like convey professorial without it being like while
being under duress.
Like that's the most calm we've gotten to see Ruffalo in a while.
So I really liked seeing the like shades of because even when he was, you know, doing science
bro stuff with Tony Stark.
It was like on the helic carrier on a mission.
Yeah.
Like this was really nice to see him in a different element.
And then I really like.
That's a great point.
We never see him by them.
I just interject is that I never found his science talk to be that interesting before.
And here he's professorial.
Not oh no we got to 100 like it's not jargon because also like philosophical. Yeah you could tell he's like they're also
He's also studying who he thinks this guy named net. He's also studying him and trying to try to guess his intentions
Yeah, there's so many layers to it. Yeah, it was really cool. I also really like the Hulk out we haven't seen him Hulk out since Avengers
Yeah, I thought was smart to have him be smart Hulk at first is the only time I thought the visual effects were a little off
No, it's a whole movie. Yeah, the smart Hulk when he's a smart Hulk. But then that's so great savage Hulk looked amazing um crowd went
Wild and Savage Hulk did appear.
And it's a cool little Easter egg with that inhibitor.
Yes.
Did you catch it?
Wait, which part of the Easter egg?
What do you mean?
The serial number?
Oh, no, I didn't catch that.
So the serial number on the inhibitor is ASM-14,
the first time Peter Parker and Bruce Banner slash Hulk and Spider-Man meet.
Amazing Spider-Man 14, 1963.
Did not catch that.
Did not catch that.
I enjoyed it.
I literally today, like, right before we filmed, I was like,
I've got all these Easter eggs about in my head.
I'm going to forget them.
And I sat down, I was like, I'm a 10-minute video.
hit minutes and I sat down and I talked for 34 minutes and now I've got to go home and like add
images but I thought of 53 Easter eggs in this movie. Wow really? There's so much and I was like
I haven't like again I I usually do a non-spoiler review if I like the movie maybe I'll do a spoiler
but I've got like five videos I want to do and today I plan to do 10 minutes and it was 34 like so I just
I think this movie nailed it we don't get a cut of anything coy does on his channel so don't
don't click don't go over there don't do it don't my wife's been killing it my thumbnails I'm very
proud of her. She's doing great. She like learned in a day
and it's just like, kicking ass,
taking names, dude. But yeah, Spider-Man, uh,
like those little details didn't feel overwhelming.
Sometimes Easter eggs are like, we get it.
And I like that the ones in this one are like,
actually subtle. Like Eminem.
That's right. I remember you telling me about that.
In the opening or, yeah,
early on with the Punisher. Yeah. Okay.
I love the fight with Hulk.
Yes. Greatly done.
Punisher moment. It was awesome.
Nitpick.
I always wait. I always wait. He builds up. He crashes.
Mipa incoming.
It was
specifically, and it didn't
get that much better for me.
On the second watch, I'm like,
okay, maybe it was like Angry Hulk
who got rid of it.
When the inhibitor is in his hand
to put it on his net,
when Peter gives it to him,
and he's right about to put it on.
And Peter's just like,
do it.
Come on, man.
Do it, do it, do it.
And then when he gets like a little head pain
and throws it because of the head pain,
I'm like, I think the movie's trying to
tell me angry Hulk within him through it.
But I'm like, why isn't Peter just trying to, why isn't Peter just putting it on?
Why isn't Peter just trying to grab it and put it on?
I think he was trying to give him autonomy.
I think so too.
Okay, I did have a problem with them not making it clear that Hulk was the one that threw it.
I don't disagree.
I think that's what he was trying to do.
Because the whole time was about like what the power is in that device and controlling other people.
But I'm also not a hundred percent confident that that,
that was a real concern for Peter Parker at that time.
That autonomy was super important to caging the beast right now.
I feel like,
because later on when he does Hulk out,
he's trying to put it on,
but you had like,
you knew this would happen.
Like,
you knew this was going to happen.
You had a prime opportunity to put it on him and said you were like,
hey,
banner, look at me.
It's okay.
But the inhibitor is way over here.
You can see what's happening.
He's not even trying to put it on.
Yeah.
And to me,
I was like,
like,
come on, Peter.
I want the Hulk too.
I want the fight.
I like the fight.
We know it's coming.
But it might have been a little bit more justified if Peter was like already trying to like continues.
I think they just did the Hulk voice a little earlier.
If they just had them no.
And then the transformation.
Yeah.
It would have given us like we just needed that.
Or he like tries to find it or it breaks the inhibitor.
Something like that.
But especially when Peter later on try to put it.
But we need the inhibitor to go on genes.
We couldn't bro it.
It's the same inhibitor.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
That's true.
Can't break.
You can't break it.
You can't break it.
That's what it meant the mutant.
What if he was like trying to look for it or trying to go.
to put it on. I mean, I see you're saying. You know what I mean? Netpack. I don't know.
It's kind of there. Didn't improve. Didn't improve on the rewatch. That's all I'm saying.
Anyway, we got a like 17 more of these to go and I got you get your hard out here at
before he said. Yeah, yeah. Then we got to do that other thing. Yeah, we can nail it.
That's trying. Oh, he said, keep it moving. You're welcome. Let's fucking do it, Coy.
Because we got new seven TGF. I love that movie. Hey guys. Big fan of you.
both. Really? Who do you like more? I think the post credit is Toby Andrew and
Doomsday. It's too early to be about Secret Wars. That's another thought I was having.
It could be that or it could just be some type of post credit that doesn't make any sense at all
because why would this, why would an app that Ned makes possibly tell us any
spider genomes? Any of the three. I feel like it can be very confusing.
He detects spider DNA. He knows a lot about Spider-Man. That must be going nuts.
There's so many spiders.
I think later on we should have that experience.
I think it is Toby and Andrew, and I think it is, I think it's Dume's Day.
I think Secret Wars would be a little too soon to tease.
I think narratively them appearing in Secret Wars makes more sense.
But if Doomsday is the story, I think it is, we're going to see a lot of death.
And I could see us losing a Spider-Man or two to show the scale.
I could see an encouragement event being an Andrew or a Toby or a Fox World in the beginning dying.
Also quickly say, one of my favorite character scenes is when Spider-Man is just hanging out, building the Legos and talking with, like, I love that entire whole thing.
The drawing with his mask off is, I like actually like, it, it gobsmacked me how emotional I got.
I was so like, wow.
And that was a tieback to her in detention.
She likes drawing people in crisis.
Like, I love Ned in the first movie.
MJ, I've never really given a shit about any of the movies.
Her, it's weird.
Like, I know they're together in real life, but I've never found, like, their chemistry to be a, like,
trick or anything. This is the first time I was like, I'm so connected to the relationship.
The three of them I care more about as a unit more than ever.
This like trio of friends that they've been trying to sell me on for like three fucking movies.
Now I'm like, now I feel it and now I'm connected.
Easily the most I've got about the trio.
Undoubtedly. Undoubtedly.
Vic Star 5,001.
So do we think Ned fully remembers now?
If so, how?
Not fully.
And I think he's putting together that Peter is Spider-Man.
I think the fun is the double blind of implying he.
implying he might remember.
Very true.
Very true.
All right.
Ramos binges films.
I've been telling people that personally, Tom still doesn't touch my favorite Spider-Man,
Josh Keaton's spectacular Spider-Man, but Tom hears easily the best live-action
Peter Parker Spider-Man.
I might give it to him in this one.
I might.
We're going to be doing, we will be, we got the girls doing those live-action ones,
but closer to No Way Home, we are going to be doing the Toby ones and the Andrew Garfield
ones as we get closer to No Way Home, Koi and I.
So I think by then I'll know for sure, because I'll remember brand new day,
pretty well in my head by that by then.
Yeah, we could do.
Timing-wise, that might land up with this
coming out on home
and we could do it. We'd do it with Superman.
Could do like a...
But then that would throw off when we get there.
But the no way for we're feeling.
But no way home could go into brand new day.
But that would throw off what we watch
after Thunderbolts.
Yeah. So, never mind.
We're doing a road to do this. We'll get there.
Not a road to Spider-Man brand-new Davey-O-D.
It's all roads. All roads led to this.
Jesus. That said,
I...
hung out with Josh at Comic-Con,
and we talked about how he was, like,
how excited he was for this take
because he loved the trailers.
I haven't talked to him since,
but I know that Josh Keaton was personally very excited for this,
because I talked to him Saturday,
and then it came out Monday.
Did not seem to him at the premiere,
but Josh was very invested in this one.
So I'm curious what he thinks,
because he is a devout Spider-Man man as well,
like not just the character.
He loves the movies and loves the world of it.
I love that.
Jeff Carroll.
Thanks, Jeff.
I just got three in here.
Let's read them all.
Saw Odyssey and Brand New Day on Back to Back Nights.
Love both.
Spiteracy!
Turns out the home trilogy isn't a trilogy because Odyssey is the fourth installment and should have been titled Spider-Man, Dad's Coming Home.
Jeff Carroll goes on to say, but for real, love brand-new day.
The Spidey Punisher Dynamic and Sink Hollins' performance stood out most to me.
And let's find that third question.
Any world where Sadie Sinks casting, not just character, it could have been kept secret, not seeing Gene Cumming, not seeing Gene coming,
would have made the mystery character seem scarier
and elevate the film even more.
I don't feel like there's a world.
I think in 2026 this is as close as we'll ever get.
Especially because she's an actual supporting character
in this movie.
If she was a cameo,
like when we saw Deadpool and Wolverine,
Blade blew my fucking mind.
Dude, that worked.
That blew my,
I'm like,
I was freaking out.
That did not,
I don't even know if that leaked.
That did not come my way.
Yeah,
I got to be like,
that was shocking.
But Blade has a couple scenes in that movie.
Yeah.
And this is,
they shoot this on location and shit.
The clothes she's wearing are so Gene Gray color-coded.
We got to have the hope of being surprised up until the movie.
Like we still got to be like,
what if she's not?
But the execution was still different than we would have imagined.
We didn't,
what they did such a good job at hiding was what they were going to do.
With Gene Gray.
Like none of the DOD, all that finale shit with her was not.
We thought the villain was the hand and gang.
war. They teased a gang war. Yeah. That was awesome. Because I mean, we were all theorizing
tombstone and shit. Yeah. Such clever marketing to hide tombstone. Show so many villains. Assume it's
gang war. They did it. They did it. Yeah. So I think the execution of her was still such a big surprise.
As much as it was shown in the trailer, there was so much not shown in the trailer. Yeah.
Let's go. We miss someone in between here, did we? Chadwick. Yeah. Thank you. I think the scorpion
itch would have been fixed if his fight in the hand fight were swapped.
So the first act fight is the hand in the alley and the big third act final loss for a gene being scorpion.
That might have fixed it.
But the big crescendo fight, I mean, yes, like story wise probably.
But the big crescendo fight was awesome.
I was here where I actively only got excited for the hand only because of the fight scene coming up.
And that's what they did for us.
And then the fight scene was beautiful and brilliant.
They did make them narratively important.
They gave us a cool fight.
And I love one part, one aspect
storytelling of the fight is
every one of these movies
the finale ends with like Tom Holland
unmasse and bleeding and stuff, right?
Like that kind of show it.
But one part I loved the fight was
when he does not have the shooters
and it's his organic webbing
that breaks to the DODC weapons.
Yeah.
Oh, that's pretty focused.
Nitpick!
You have a nitpick?
There's one change they could have made
that would have made the line
I'm both so much better.
He is talking telepathically
with you.
Gene and the whole point is
him embracing his other side. The whole movie leads
to this. They finally build to the point
where she's saying, are you Spider-Man? Are you Peter Parker?
The culmination of the theme!
Why wouldn't the motherfucker's mask
to have?
It would have been cool.
It's not so much of a nitpick, though.
It's more of a wish that you wish they had done to enhance
a moment.
It's a thing that's such an easy thing that could have made
better. It would have symbolized
the line.
It would have.
made it better, it would have.
So it's a nitpick. It's not a major thing.
It's not a game changer.
We should really a nitpick what a nitpick is.
Because a lot of your
my nitpick is a what if.
What if they had done this?
Your nitpicks are like this is a minor flaw.
Mine are like, this is a solve.
That's true.
To each their own nitpick.
That's what I would have needed to be solved.
How cool would have been of his mask is ripped and have been cool.
Because he does that.
It's true.
It's a thing that happens.
And instead of just no mask, you fucking, he's both.
Yeah.
We will define what a nitpick is later.
Next time on,
Coy and Greg are you semantics.
Let's it,
let's move on here.
Let's go and do it.
Is that an R?
R&P, Pacheco.
Thoughts on Hulk?
Oh, fuck,
way too long.
I did.
I jumped the gun to early.
You did.
You did.
You even said 17.
I was actually,
I was actually counting to try to see the Hulk word.
Didn't catch the Hulk word.
Oh, there it is.
I tried reserving for this.
Where can they take the character forward?
They can show after Secret Wars being chased by DOC.
Exploring other Hulk personas could be fun.
Maybe lead to a new Hulk versus Wolverine.
I've always wanted the Hulk versus Wolverine movie.
World War Hulk songs cool.
Koi's doing the thing that I could hear it,
which means he's got an idea.
What is it?
I got a pitch.
Okay.
What is it?
Hulk.
Institutionalized.
Mental psychiatry.
Immortal Hulk.
through the green doors of his mind.
Give me a Hulk solo movie.
That's a horror movie.
In the mind of the Hulk processing the trauma of being a monster.
Every time we meet Hulk, someone pokes him.
He turns into Hulk and he's like, I'm so sick of being a monster.
Have him institutionalized processing the fact that he doesn't feel safe to be out in the world.
And then go internal.
And we finally get that like meditative Hulk, scary exploration.
Follow the mortal Hulk.
What is the who's treating him?
Samson.
Okay.
That does sound good.
And we haven't had a movie like it.
Or Professor X.
Or Professor X.
Treating him.
That'd be cool.
Not mad at it.
It's a little bit of stretch,
but not mad at them.
I mean,
it's right there.
Just keep introducing the X-Men in other ways.
Yeah,
that's,
I mean,
I'm in.
Samson's the canonical one,
but X-Men's the exciting one.
Yeah.
I'm like,
I don't really need to see exams.
But at Xavier,
I'd watch the fuck out of.
Just exploring like the green door stuff.
Yeah,
that would be cool.
Cool as fuck.
And when they haven't explored
any of Bruce Banner's backstory at all
because they recap,
cast him. So it's like, you could actually go back and be like his father and like all the
betty stuff. Like I would make a solo fucking Hulk movie and have that be like use the MCU like
Xavier or something, but keep it isolated to the trauma. Then the budget could be crazy or not.
Like you can go inward and go monstrous, which they haven't done at all.
But they haven't. I haven't let Mark Ruffalo promoting any of this. I think it's because he's too
outspoken. Yeah. Oh, dude, 100%. It is so funny. How they're like, these, these in the movie.
Shh. Quiet, quiet. We're going to promote the hell on.
of a minute, but you can't let him. You can't put him in an interview.
Are you kidding?
The atrocities that are happening in the real world and we are causing some of them.
Yeah. That's why I think they might not cast Alan Richardson in some of these because he's
he's so outspoken about his political beliefs.
I mean, that's true.
It's weird. Like Hollywood is very, you know, left leaning with a lot of their work.
Unless it costs them.
But then they're like, but don't fucking talk about that.
Because they don't want to alienate the audience.
Please lean left, but if it costs us money, we are profiting off a lot of this.
shit.
Most pandering shit.
Oh,
it's insane.
It's fucking odd as hell.
Like the so not real left is Holly.
Like it's a feigning left.
Yeah.
Anyway.
Matt Matilla the Hun.
One of my favorite things.
First MC movie that feels lived in.
Plenty of crossover,
sure,
but other heroes,
particularly Elena,
just existing as a connection.
Loved it.
That's a,
that I would give that to Yelena.
And that was one of the credits
that I absolutely love about is like,
we constantly talk about
every one of these should feel
like a universe within the MCU.
Guardians has that down.
And I think this,
they finally did it with Spider-Man,
where it didn't, like, yes,
it still feels part of the MCU,
but it still feels like a Spider-Man universe.
Yeah.
And I was really happy with that.
Absolutely good for that point, dude.
Thank you.
FN. Raw Flash,
based on where Peter and MJ relationship left off,
I think we're ready for live-action black cat.
If not now, then I don't know if they'll do it.
They should do live-action black cat.
I have had many years of wondering
how I could be attracted to a drawing because of black cat.
That character gets me, man.
Who's your casting?
Oh.
Shalem.
Speaking of outspoken, not left-leaning people, Sidney, Sweeney.
I mean, she'd look good in fur.
She's the look good and fur, dude.
She's already proved any euphoria.
Yeah.
Just where that zipper lands depends on Disney.
Yeah.
Who is a good back?
I mean, Sidney's the joke, but it also kind of works.
Scornie Weaver.
Yeah.
Dame Judy Denge.
Ooh.
Taylor Swift.
if she was a strong actress.
And a little curvyer.
Hey, she's all right.
She's a good dazzler.
It's pretty hot.
She would be a good dazzler.
She would be a good dazzler.
That's the...
But like, there's got to be a voluptuousness to Black Cat.
I think that Taylor's Wift is pretty.
I think Black Cat is voluptuous and like hot.
What TikToker could be?
Yeah.
Because it doesn't need acting ability.
Just the look.
I mean, yeah, what more do I need from Black Cat?
I mean, come on.
She doesn't have to be talented.
Did she a character?
Just show up and...
Or she's just a hot-ass lady.
Dube in some dialogue.
We can get a real actor to do the dialogue.
Like Keith David.
Keith David.
I do like my leather of a squad.
Peter, put the mask back on.
Who is like...
Man, who's like a...
Who's a hot woman?
But like the right type of hot.
It's like it's an absurdist hot that is used to weaponize men's, like,
getting dumb because they're so hot.
You know what I mean?
Like it's got to be like...
Is chat saying Sophie Thatcher?
Catherine McNamara.
Terry Cruz.
Oh, Cat Mac Tamarra is hot.
Joey King.
Maybe Joey King?
Maybe.
She's great actors.
Cat McNamara has got a cat.
Penny Barber.
Catherine McNamara.
Chase Infinity.
Chase Infinity is that the one?
Chase Infinity is perfect.
Chase Infinity.
Dude.
Okay.
Chase Infinity is my pick.
That's whoever said that.
I'm with you.
Great call.
Great call.
all right let's move on
next Mitch TV
really liked
8 out of 10
I go over a very few
clear problem I review
but my favorite scene
in the movie is Tom leaving the party
swinging in the rain
night flashing back to him
at MJ and past movies
good job talking about
another scene Greg
I didn't
I didn't read fast enough
let me count the number
and I'll assume in 17
no Hulk
no swinging in the rain
let's talk about it
I just thought
we agree with me I'm sorry
we agree with you Mitch TV
we agree with you
it's great point
go check out Mitch TV's review
Dreamboy just hopping in to say hi before work and also to ask me all going to react to the Furious.
We did.
John Matern and I did.
Have you seen it?
No, I've heard great things.
Oh, my God.
I've seen 20 minutes and I loved it.
I haven't seen the movie.
I think every time I go to the gym, I randomly think about a fight scene.
The movie is so good.
Okay.
Okay.
It's Thai, right?
I don't know what it is.
Okay. Filipino or not?
It's, no, I mean, there's a lot of Filipinos are so, so bad in that movie.
They're just, they're all bad.
Every Filipino character and it's just a bad person in that movie.
And it like it might take place in the Philippines, but they intentionally keep it obscure.
They intentionally, there's just somewhere in Asia and there's like a bunch of different Asians.
But yeah, they make the Filipinos don't look good in that film.
It's amazing.
It's on my half to watch for the end of the year list.
But we'll take whatever representation we can get.
Young MD.
If people have issues with gene killing a few people off screen, they're going to hate Doomsday.
I think her violence actually kicked up the levels.
That's true. We don't even know how many people actually died when she froze everyone, too.
You know, like the people might have...
She said she's not a kill. I mean, they explicitly...
No, when she froze all Manhattan, many people probably crashed their cars.
There was what? You saw one guy fall off a bike. He might have snapped his neck.
He died.
There's plenty of people who could have... He froze half.
Just moving, bustling city. There's some people who must have died or gotten injured.
This universe is the same universe that Daredevil broke a man's neck, and he wore a neck brace, and he came on back.
how much I...
You know,
falling off the bike.
How much I hate that.
He is now a marathon runner.
I hate that.
You have to distinguish
who the humans are
who the superheroes are.
Bullshit.
Neck bread guy.
Everyone's immortal.
Hated that.
I think about that all the time.
I was so mad when I thought
Daredevil killed that guy
that I was even more than him.
Like, so this guy's like no injures.
He's literally just the new bad guy.
I was up in arms.
Just a little chiropractor pop.
Vixter.
I live alone with
friends all paired up and busy with her lives.
So this film's focus on isolation unexpectedly resonated with me.
Superb film.
I,
this was a surprise pandemic film,
you know,
like I think this was really important for a whole new generation to,
I think kids and adults love Spider-Man.
So I love that Spider-Man was the character to go like,
hey,
we're social creatures,
perhaps,
see somebody.
And I love that,
you know,
this movie's going to make a billion dollars in a week.
And it's,
that's the message.
So I love to hear this.
And I love that it,
I hopefully register.
and resonated in a way that made you want to reach out to someone around a Spider-Man shirt.
Tom Holland's so rich.
So rich.
Kimball Wolf.
Is the last one?
Oh, no.
Oh, close to the last?
Yeah.
That's five.
We got this.
Kimball Wolves.
A little bummed the Hulk was in a full iconic fight and was defeated by calming him down again.
What subtext have you picked up and loved what mutating expression or trauma parts of ourselves are truly part of our nature?
Wow.
what a beautiful question.
My God, you have an instant answer for that?
That's like one I would take time to think about.
For me, the idea that even our negative elements are essential to us.
Like, as someone who really struggles with, like, my short temper and how frustrated I get,
and I'm someone that really loves persons, but has lost a blind faith in people.
Spider-Man is something that brings me back to that.
Like, Spider-Man brings me back to being positive and having faith in people.
So the movie is straight up addressing that our inner monster and the things we struggle with and like the parts of ourselves.
If we could choose to get rid of a part of ourselves, we wouldn't be ourselves.
So I think the movie just making that a plot point is really strong.
So that was an element I really loved.
The part that I just keep going back to with this movie is the difficulty in learning how to overcome the fear of connection.
You know, that's like the biggest part of it is I like that irrational side of the brain that it explores.
When does someone so, the only way obviously is like he desires connection.
There's always an opportunity, but he just doesn't take it.
So much to the point that this guy is so kindhearted that the cop he interacts with,
he doesn't even ask this person any questions.
Like that's how you get to know people.
And he still even keeps this person who he talks with daily at a distance.
And so I love like that little trajectory at the end where he does know the kid's names.
The Punisher moment that really hit me was when he called Spider-Rs,
a coward for wearing a mask, but it was like a defense mechanism as opposed to when he had a
problem with Daredevil doing it. And it was because of him being upset that he wasn't appreciating
people in his life loving him. Like I love that that pissed Frank off that he could possibly
just not tell somebody he loved them because like he would do anything for a second which he really
loves. And that turns into like coward in a mask. But that's so different than why he didn't like
Daredevil in a mask. Like I really enjoyed Punisher's different perspective on Peter versus Matt.
And that was a really cool moment. Very good. Very good point.
King of the Slammers moment of silence
Ron H
he was crying
fucking Punisher
He was crying
Punisher was crying
Yep
Punisher cries
Punisher cries
It was a beautiful moment
I love that scene
We've seen crime
Daredevil season two
He's crying
He's a crier
He's a crier
He's a cry
That's why he turns his head a lot
He's trying to get the tears to streak
Get him out of his eyes
Got wet
Red
What my eyes wet
What else we see
sniper
Frankie C
just got the only
my second viewing
my favorite
Spider-Man movie
so many
nods to all things
from the video games
comics and movies
like Spider-verse
not as crazy
as Spider-verse
but pretty close
that opening shot
is very Spider-verse
though
sitting on the beam
and
and Spider-Vers does have
an opening montage to you
yeah
yeah
I love this one man
that's great
I'm glad you have watched
some people have watched
it twice already
it's one of those man
it's one of those
yeah but you know
we can get early access
to show
People watched it in a day.
A lot of people like, yeah, actually get a, yeah.
It's Friday.
They do like preview night, then Thursday and then Friday.
It's pretty cool.
Yeah, we saw it Monday, Thursday, and I was like, I'm crazy for this one.
And then people that are just seeing it back to that is cool.
Trey Stewart.
How many more Spider-Man movies do you think Tom will do?
I think at least two.
I hope two and a secret war.
It would be cool to watch a guy age and Peter Parker gets older.
I hope the success of this one because he had creative control means he wants to do more.
Yeah.
Because I think he was kind of done.
And now I hope because.
Because once he sees his input equals success and quality, he'll want to be a shepherd.
I mean, he's having the best month ever.
Odyssey, keep doing that.
Everyone is always like, he can't do anything outside of Spider-Man.
And then he literally is in like the $2 billion movies of July.
And then people comparing him to Toby and Andrew.
Everybody's like, the best friend.
Yeah, like he's having a good time.
He's having a great month.
He also just got to have like a two-month honeymoon touring the world with his new wife.
Yeah, it's fucking nuts.
And his best friend, John Burke, the one was best friend.
I love that.
Alan Smithy!
Yo, Greg Coy and the other unseen rejects, Tom Hollinson recently set a special record.
He is now the only person to vomit on the show Hot Ones.
That's right.
Will Zendaya dump him after such a sad display or show so bad at eating hot songs?
I think she loves him even more for his reaction to it.
I think it was endearing.
It was sweet.
It showed vulnerability.
They've really managed to map out well how to do publicity together with
like without it being annoying or they don't talk about the relationship like i don't watch a lot
of couples surprising how well they navigate that i don't like i don't have an interest in a lot of
couples but i i'm invested in their happiness in a way that doesn't feel parisocial because i'm
like what are they doing but whenever i see the two of them do press i'm like like it feels like
nice to know love yeah can exist in this environment does that make sense yeah and like i love
that tom holland will like fight a paparazzi for her like i love anytime she's in the
Like he's like, nope.
Like I just, he's shorter than me.
And he'll like throw down for Zendaya.
And I think that's just like wholesome in a very classic like 1950s without the racism way.
Sure.
Yeah.
I like, I like them to get it a lot.
I think the way they've been doing the press tour together is really cool.
And they're smart.
And the way they talk about each other is so sweet.
And the way they look at each other.
It's just precious.
They also know not to make it about the relationship.
Right.
Because they know they have to keep a distance.
They like distance to the public.
Yeah.
It's kind of crazy.
It's like it's really.
It's a dance.
impressive how like I wonder what how their PR team I talked to the stars in the world are not
overdoing it no yeah yeah it's not about like them as a couple ever it's well doing press
together we'll just see if there's any more stream labs then we uh move on okay there's
few more stream because you said it Greg you said it you're like oh you can sneak in what's gonna
do a short podcast after I promise going I got this I was trying to give us news we will I
promise okay where are we I think we did
dance for live right? No, 7 out of 10. Do we say that?
Yes, that's where we left out screening and scared. And I was like, yeah, we talked about that.
Watch this motherfucker. That guy 2410. What do you think about this movie sending Peter up to be the one that
created what will be the inhibitor callers for mutants? It's just like fight. It's just like Forge did in
X-Men 97. I think it's going to be it's Oppenheimer. This is the moment that changes everything
for them in the future. And he thought he was doing something for himself and helping, but it's
obviously going to be big ramifications. I think it's going to be as consequential as Gene, you know,
being labeled the villain here. I think it's very important in the future.
Gene! I agree with you.
Anonymous! I honestly loved the movie.
It was a refreshing change of pace from the standard MCU post endgame.
Plus, it felt like they got away from the cookie cutter formula a bit.
It definitely made my Spidey Sense tingle like crazy.
It's still crazy how they haven't called it Spidey Sense yet.
It really is. They also didn't say the word mutant in the film.
No, they didn't.
And it drove me crazy.
That is true. When the DoDC definitely has it.
I love how from Wonder Man to this, Destin Daniel Cran, has a handle on how to do
DoDC.
It actually made them
scary.
A threat.
And DOC was,
were they first
introduced in Homecoming?
Iron Man.
You're introduced
Iron Man?
They said,
DOC.
They didn't show them.
The word DOC
was mentioned all the way
back and away.
But the first time you see them
is in homecoming?
First time you see them
as in homecoming.
Because that's where
crazy.
Crazy how they all like
ties into Spider-Man
and the beginning.
Damn, that's cool.
It's a Spider-Man villain,
but it goes back to the beginning.
That's cool.
That is really cool.
This is the DOC universe.
Deno YuVy.
We watched Spider-Man
honestly back to back in 40x. Oh my
God, what a nightmare. I've never felt
destroyed this much, but I was wondering,
I saw the Odyssey in 40X. I was painful.
I was your back, okay? I was wondering if you guys think
Peter die at the end would have been more effective
and have a variant show up in Doomsday. Maybe I'm just mean.
No, I don't like variants. I think variants.
Oh, no, no, no, no. Peter Parker
has a whole story. He gets fucking married and has kids.
Like, we haven't gone to that version yet.
And nor do I want to do some thing. We're like,
hey, Tommy McGuire shows up and he's married.
And I was like, no, let's watch. How cool
do you see the development of that? We haven't done
that and Tom Holland could totally bring that to life.
It's time to Harry Potter Spider-Man and they're having it now.
I want to see him grow up and I do not want a variant in that important of a role.
I'm right there with you, buddy.
Now, Ben Riley, no.
Guy, one of my favorite scenes in this movie was when
was talking to Aunt May through Peter's memories and that scene hit really hard.
Absolutely.
That's one of my favorite scenes too.
I also love the scene where Frank and Peter were yelling over each other at his layer.
I have no idea what they were saying.
Kick rock.
It's one of my favorite scenes.
I do like the physical.
of the absurdity of his traps.
Yeah.
Like it's new,
what if a homeless guy
walked in here?
Unhoused guy.
I loved that the whole movie is about like that danger that image is like,
I'm gonna go and then she's like,
I should,
I should probably get an escort.
Like I enjoyed that like swing me home.
It's not safe.
Yeah,
that all that physicality was great.
They're both so good physically in their roles.
But I think,
I think Sadie sings acting.
That was my favorite performance acting scene from her was the scene with
Aunt May.
It's so good.
Where you could see just in her eyes,
her learning the lesson
without her having to say much.
Yeah.
But you see the performance.
Like I love when this movie knows how to do
trust their performers and trust silence.
That's why you cast Mr. Tomei.
Like,
Ernst Tomey got to act.
Yeah, thank God.
She's hot too.
Deno Yuri.
Aunt Bay.
Aunt Babe.
Bring her back as Black Cat.
Oh, so can't Gene Gray
do something about MJ's memories?
Yeah, we were talking about that.
Like there was a scene where she was tearing up
while frozen and then she's on the roof
with a necklace. Also Zendaya Tom Holland, John Berthal,
going to be the top to him as the comedy.
You've said everything that we have been saying and we love you for it.
We agree with you and I think you're right.
You love you for it too. Yes.
Also, just want to say, I love you guys watching for so long.
We love you too.
I love you more than Koi loves his wife.
I love you, Koi. Wish you were gay.
Hey.
That's a funny timing with that sentence.
What? I didn't say anything.
Sorry, I'm married to a lady.
No, but in all seriousness,
this love your videos movie was insane and that theme song oh yes oh gay coy coming in
gay coy apparently i call for the boys always love me here and i appreciate toy for the boy toys
also if we get a rubber paddenson marvel character could he be a good harry osborne if we didn't
mean him in this movie he'd be doing his antennas for fucking honesty i don't know if it would be
fun to see him trying to take zendaya away
That's right. They were in the drama. Give you time the drama flash tracks. Anyways, what do you think about shitty mutant powers on per episode? What a flyer crawl out.
This is a journey. We just went on. What a journey we just went off. I just wanted it. I just want to see Harry Osborne after he finds out about the Spiderverse to say, get these spiders out of here.
So cast him. That'd be awesome. Cast Pattinson.
Never heard a harder R on the word beggar in my life. I think that guy will be in, uh, I think, I think the boyfriend will probably be Harry Osborne.
Yeah, I think so.
There's too many things that allude.
But also kind of like the ending,
they could not, if they want to cast someone else,
if they cast Norman and they want, like,
gives us options.
Just go with the whitest boy ever.
White with those cornrows.
All right, guys, we did it.
Thank you guys so much.
This was one of our more, believe it or not,
this is one of more efficient live stream,
spoiler talks for such a movie.
Two and a half.
Just a little under two and a half.
Pretty good.
Pretty good.
Thank you guys so much for being here.
Thanks to everyone to contribute to the stream last and super chats.
think we're going to be shooting something else
that's going to be going to tomorrow.
We're only rushing because there's news
we want to share with you guys
in that video tomorrow.
Yeah, we're going to put that up tomorrow
and just to keep a lookout for that.
And hey, we'll see you guys.
We'll see you guys next week.
Leave a like on your way out.
If you didn't, just leave a like on this video.
Much love to everyone.
Thank you, Ray.
Thanks, John, for a little bit of pre-help set up beforehand.
We'll see you guys soon.
Peace out.
We covered everything we wanted to.
We did, actually.
Yep, a slight little break.
done.
