good game season two episode three ending off on a brilliant cliffhanger truth oh god that damn number
one that number one always throwing a wrench in the gear it's why you should get a shirt that we
made a couple of years ago oh hey well what's great too is like this is technically a splice with
vachna but also you could just pretend that this is ill nom's rotten corpse yeah you know this is just
him as of the time passage into season two as uh you know yeah
Why not?
Well, John,
what you think of the episode?
Oh, man.
This show sucks.
I hate it.
It's completely uninspired.
No, this has been incredible so far.
This has been very gratifying because, again, as we said in the other reviews,
you never know with a sequel, follow-up, but so far, every episode has been absolutely
gripping.
And they, especially as of this episode, I feel like, had a lot to prove because now we are
back in proven territory.
we are back in, you know, the games.
We're back in, you know, at least as of now.
I'm kind of expecting that they will make some kind of tweak
to what the games are moving forward
because Gihun knows so much.
But, yeah, like the way that they were able to take
red-light green light once again
and make it just as gripping and thrilling and tense
as it was the first time,
though you know as we commented on the episode like that initial reveal that first red light green light
when people start getting shot like so striking and so much of a blind side and it really makes your blood run cold and it's different here but i thought
the way that they immediately amped the intensity with giehun stepping in and trying to really trying to help and then you know
at least leading to a better outcome than the first time at least by the numbers and then appealing to everybody
and coming back to that theme of like it's it's got to be the human nature like the world has to change people have to change in mass and you get this big old debate that's kind of indicative of that whole question mark of can people will people you can lead a horse to water but you can't make a drink you know you can give people the proof literally we all just lived through this and yet there's still a debate to happen and people have still acclimated and have begun to cope and using that human nature as the real flavor to try to
drive the intensity and to drive the intrigue and to make what's familiar feel fresh is really brilliant and i thought
uh this was a great episode so far they've been killing it g sorry there's something on the tech side
that i'm still railing from no frustrated yeah uh here perfect too i don't know what happened there could
have sworn anyway uh in terms of the episode itself uh yeah no i agree this was another really great one
and there are times in it because so much of it is you have to revisit, you have to repeat
because this is a new game, it's a bunch of new players, and then they got to go through the motions,
they got to go through the numbers.
So sometimes it is like that feeling of, yes, this is feeling repetitive, but you got to, because that's what it is.
It's the game.
You got to explain the rules, you know?
Yeah.
You got to go through the motions of it.
But they would always do that.
It felt like almost every single time, right down to even the rules,
they would do something where, okay, yeah,
we've heard all these rules before.
We've heard all this explanation before.
We can't just skip it.
They've got to be in the moment and live it.
But then they throw some curveball in there to add a little twist to it.
You know, oh, we can all walk away with the split,
which wasn't the rules before.
It was all or nothing last time.
And then, yeah, so red light, green light to bring different context and layers
and to even pull back the curtain and see who's the one behind the snipers I thought was a really smart call to enhance more of like it actually makes it feel even more ugly because the way it felt in the last season was I thought it was maybe I'm just dumb I thought it was like a machine that was just automatically doing it I didn't really register like oh there were like yeah machine targeted yeah I didn't read it yeah I didn't
registered that it was like oh there's snipers here actual human beings shooting people down which just makes it feel even uglier and there's a cool mystery behind like motives and just what they're doing with with like the the kind of commentary that I feel that they're actually going to be doing with the characters that they have here who are participating in the games a lot of them are media based type of people they they really put a lot of emphasis on our rapper than
They put a lot of emphasis on the YouTuber as well.
And the trans woman.
The trans woman as well.
But the way they are constructing the type of group think, the type of mob think is really repulsive to me this time around.
Whereas before you're kind of thrust it into Gihon's shoes as a new player and then a couple of other characters as well, where you feel that split of temptation, but
also kind of acknowledging like no we should get the hell out of here this time around it's almost
as if this game feels constructed just to drive home a philosophical point that the captain wants to make
to gey hunt yeah yeah it almost does feel like it's all for you specifically yeah just to be like
hey this you everything you are hunting me down for i'm here to show you like this is this seems
like we are doing a fight for the justification of why the games exist of why
the games have to exist
in a certain sense
you know
then the fact that it
feels more even raw
with the fact that their child games
showing like no you
this is rooted in people
like children's games
when your child
this is just instilled in you
so this is all we're doing
is bringing out to the surface
you might call us manipulative
but we're just really shining a light
on who you really are
I think is really strong
to see him involved in the game
is a big surprise
the captain the brother
that's a really big surprise
I'm not sure why, you know, could be reflective of Ilnam's motives as well who, like, prefer to be a part of the games instead.
Because I think after the experience of, because a lot of the themes that I feel like the show is doing is justification, justification, how we hide behind masks to justify things.
And he shot his brother, for all he knows, he probably thinks his brother's dead, you know, for all we know, he probably thinks his brother is dead, right?
and that he killed his own brother
in honor of the games
because he was so about
preserving the integrity of why these games exist
and now I imagine
there's been some dilemma
thrown his way after that incident
and this is his way of reaffirming that
that's just a thing I'm chalking it up to
you could be typing in the comments right now
who've already seen the whole season
you're wrong you idiot
Yeah, but you haven't seen as much as me.
Yes, yes.
It's, uh, there are nice surprises.
I love the bait and switch, the literal bait and switch.
I thought was fun.
I feel like there's a little bit more fun with the commentary that they're having this time.
I think it's, it's a little bit, it seems a little bit more self-aware, uh, this time around.
Well, there's some impact.
Yeah.
And I like the, the dig.
I love it.

Thank you again, straight over the news.
Oh, sure.
Wow, yeah, Logan Paul, Mr. Beast.
Name any crypto-adrylipod.
A real crypto thing going on.
That was huge.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, pump a dump, baby.
Well, and I like the mirrors that they're doing
to the previous season, kind of cutting to change.
cases and you know it's like the swap in you know you find you come to find at the end of the
first season oh zero zero one he is one of the people responsible for this game but he's also got
his own sort of reason for doing it because of his own mortality and now instead of having the
mystery i think it's really fun that they're just confronting head on no he's going to hop into
the game as probably a means of a putting his money where his mouth is and be probably feeling something
because, you know, there's a lot in that actor's face,
and I'm sure we'll get some kind of emotional unpacking
in terms of his brother, his family life, et cetera.
But I like the prospect that now they're going to be in the game together,
and I imagine that it's going to be Guy Hun and his, like, arch enemy,
essentially in close quarters with the ability to discuss all of this
and to kind of live through all this in a unique microcosm
amid all these other people.
Yeah.
And, yeah, I think that's really fun.
clever way to up the ante and to stir the pot and to you know again create a hook out of a
symbolic role you know and i love the way yeah they shot that where it's like you see the number
you're close up on the back of the jacket close up on the hand you don't know who it's going to be
until the reveal and uh it's really nicely handled and it was yeah a really good oh shit moment
because uh yeah i like it it signifies that shit just got real again in the episode that features
the game where we had such a shit just got real
moment the first time around and now it's a totally
different kind of thing that says
to me that this is going to be again
more in service of the philosophical side
of the season but uh but great
choice great call
great calls yeah all around
I'm loving the way it's shot as well
this is exciting this feels like a really
solid sequel
like it feels like a genuine
sequel and not just a rehash yeah
even when it starts feeling like they're
rehashing uh they they're
curveballs in there that I think make it really
interesting. And I feel
for Gihon in that
debate, like I'm frustrated with the
people. Like I'm really, I find myself
like, it was
obvious
where they would land. Yeah.
And that's what makes it frustrating. Not
not the fact that the show like had a predictable
moment. It's just knowing
how people are
you're like, God damn.
It's like some soft horseship. Of course there's a little
bit of like screenwriting and the fact that you're
three episodes in already like you kind of have a bit of an idea of where it should go or how
it can go but i think that's what they are i think that's part of the self-awareness of the
writing is being like all right this is where the audience will probably know what's up
now throw a curveball in here yeah yeah like and settle you in it's like okay we know they're
going to land on it's all going to vote blue yeah now so a curveball who's the one who's
putting the final vote you know and what's this going to do to gie hun and his motivation for
being here it's like there's
the grand scheme of taking down
the organization itself but given
that that whole question of like well humanity
has to change like I can see how this
would make a person in his position
feel that much more bleak
and in a moment of
weakness maybe even consider giving up
on helping anybody out because what's the point
you know well now there's going to be
he's going to walk away of 45 billion more
that's right
this is going to cause an endless cycle of him getting
richer and richer
and chasing them more and more
why do I keep getting
better at these games. I've won this game
six times. I swear
I'll take them down one day. I'm now
one of the VIPs. I have
every soldier on earth working
for me that we still
can't find this damn island.
They're all on the payroll.
They all work for Sunshine Capital.
Everyone's staying at the Pink Motel.
Oh, yes. Great. Can't wait to watch
the next four. What do you guys
think? Leave your thoughts down below. We'll see you
guys really, really soon.
Michael B, we're already in the squid game of reactions.
That's right.
Who gets their reaction of first?
Who's able to survive this shoot around the holiday season
so we can have a bit of a break,
but it is hard when they are dropping the biggest show of the year.
Right at the tail end?
And not giving us a screener's.
It's really hard.
I get how it goes, Michael B.
I get how it goes.
But, hey, man, are you willing to win that 145?
billion one
yeah
I only conduct my
transactions in one that's why I do
so much business with Michael B
because he's got so much of it's really easy to trick him
we're like we're giving you 400,000
one yeah and he's like I'm not even going to bother with the exchange rate
because at number that high has to make me rich
has to be at least over
$350,000
definitely yeah
which is you know yeah that's a there's a lot you can do
in life with $350,000.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You could buy a squid game.
That's right.
You could buy your own squid game.
And then you can bring other,
you know, poor, oh, there you go.
And we totally play against Michael B.
And I know you would go down.
Look, I wouldn't hesitate, buddy.
If we were in a square game,
we'd take you out while you're sleeping.
That's right.
Yeah, I'll fight you for your egg.
Pillow over your face.
And then right before you die,
I pull just the top of the pillow down
so I can look into your eyes.
be like
I look at me
I want to see your soul
I want to see the light
dim
as you body
parts ways
with your mortal soul
and what do I do
I start
yeah
to make it look
like I didn't
sacrifice you didn't
want to make
if you had to
for the game
or that
the rules
yeah
I said something different
but I don't think
you caught it
anyway Michael
Merry Christmas
I'm doing all right
you buddy
everybody.
