Let's go, John.
Let's do it.
I mean, he had it come.
Oh, God.
I said I would be sad.
Oh, God.
But, you know, in that context, he had to come.
Wild.
Yeah.
Yep.
Oh, boy.
Yep, yep, yep.
that's unfortunate yeah thank god yeah i'd rather him die i don't like him yeah but i mean you know
once you once you narrow it down and you're in your last remaining like you know basically
you're down to all the people you like yeah now i'll lose thanos it's fine all right guys well
we're at the penultimate here we're only going to talk for a couple minutes because we got one more
banger to get through no mas john please share your thoughts i'll listen
oh i you know that how are they going to wrap this up in one episode we will find out but uh yeah i'm
just you know i'm sitting here i'm just anxious to get to the next one i thought this was solid
certainly it's a very simple episode out of all of them i think it's the most simple in a way
because you have the intensity of the merry go round game and you can see what they're doing
they want to get this down to an even hundred especially to kind of mess with the vote
and all that stuff uh definitely you have to go back and check the tape on on who got shot in
Yeah, who was that?
Yeah, I guess I'm not forgetting a name or something.
Yeah, or like some stray piece of context.
But yeah, you go from that.
This is good.
This is the power of reactions.
You're forced to be in.
When you're forced to be in.
Everyone's going to notice.
Yeah, yeah.
You just got to own it now.
And then, yeah, you know, coming down to, I thought they drew some good suspense out of this.
I like the inclusion of the little seed of doubt in terms of young.
slash inho uh zero one uh choking that guy out and the debates with the other guy too about you know
if you hadn't uh shong sue i don't remember the connection with this guy oh yeah we got to go back
i barely remember who this guy is yeah uh either way yeah having those little stray bits of like
well you know something uh that certainly works against our allegiances and and you know is really
upsetting in the moment like you can't deny what that
one dude's what what 333 said basically like you all would have died if i hadn't come in here
and even though you think you could have saved her you probably wouldn't have you would have wound
up short either way i think that's interesting bringing out again the question marks around
uh inho and watching the gears turn and i think that's that's part of it is like part of me
thinks that if they would have definitely won by a vote he would have done basically whatever
lead to the tie at bare
minimum. And so I
think that's another nice little dangling thread
of like, oh, I don't know what to make
this guy even still, because the circumstances
allow for enough
vague, you know,
question, you know, yeah,
it's foggy enough that,
you know, the mystery remains until this
final episode. So, yeah,
now it's just on how many people going to get shanked,
what does that do in the numbers,
and how much more money do
each of them add to the pot?
yeah uh yeah so rip thanos but uh what do you think
i think
that
this is a good game
because i like what would i find
cool about the way the games are being done because i have i have
an inkling that i'm probably going to walk away personally being like
season one is more complete but it's like season one is
it was a season of television that
the writer-director spent
like years developing
and then he gets Greenland for season two
is like all right I'll make a season too
you know so it just makes
more sense it's the introduction
but there's something about the game that
that really stood out to me this time
especially on my rewatch of the first
season is that
in the first season
you really only kind of care about like
four people really making it all the way
through three to four like after all
gone and nilnams gone in episode six you just care about like three people and they're the
three who make it to the end right yeah and here i'm like i find myself going no wait please
no i'm not he's like different other people a lot more characters you're endeared to where and the
thing about those three that you want to make through you kind of have a sneaking suspicion they're
going to make it through to the end because they're the three main characters yeah and then of course
the three main characters the ones make to the end and that's not a criticism i love that season i think
it's pretty much a perfect season of television and that was one of the fun parts about watching
this merry-go-round game was oh man I'm like the tugging of like random people and some people
who I'm like maybe we didn't get to know them as well as like we may have got another like season
one with the time spent but I still like please don't please God oh god no no and a lot of that has
to do with the variations of relationship dynamics because you have like one set here where there's
a boy a lot of these people actually kind of know each other and that's part of the fun of the media
uh angle but then beyond that's like you got the mother and son and you have um you know a strange
boyfriend girlfriend dynamic relationship and you got an enemy from like rapper to youtube or uh so you
have these different dynamics that really create a different type of engagement yeah and ghewn's buddy
yeah yeah exactly you guys with the marine connection even though they don't know each other they
still have a familial thing because that yeah and they create these like fascinating moments of
conflict and this this this debate though of um what i will say is like outside of thanos so i find
to be a very funny performer i think the quote unquote villainous sides of the or attack more
antagonistic sides mainly the people who just really want to stay on the oh side of the things i do
find to be a little bit more one note than last season yeah that 100 guy is just like the worst
trademark yeah the worst or they even like the freaking shaman lady yeah whereas you
in the you know like season when you had like duck sue or whatever that guy's name was a snake tattoo guy who was like totally ruthless and despicable and but like and then though lady with the who was always like
trying to con and all the time yeah yeah manipulator and everything yeah yeah a little more flesh on those bones yeah sure sure um but at same time it is a different season and it is a different type of story that they are telling I am a little curious though as we are in our penultimate and now we're going to the finale of okay well they really stick to
the landing with some because you have like 11 who I thought was a very fascinating setup
and we don't really spend that much time with her you got this whole organ plot line
uh I think the mom and Inho are the two most fascinating characters in this season
particular and uh yeah I mean there's like stuff to look for it of course it's like
rather just wait and see how it unfolds I still find it to be an incredibly entertaining
season of television
like I could already see some of the things
that like okay yeah this could have been a little
bit stronger this could have been a little bit more elevated
but in terms of like
I'm like watching this going
I don't know this is going to end but fucking give you squeeze
game season three I want more this is just
so it is just such a fun
show to watch it is like a bleak
at show yeah but it doesn't
pace itself in a bleak way
it is just such a fun show
in spite of like the darkness
of it it does a good job of embodying the the yo-yo that they keep experiencing of like when you're in the games it's like terror and then for brief moments because they're children's games you'll have like the kind of like oh we're doing good there's like a joy that comes out and then you you return to the you know the quarters or the you know you get out of the game scenario and then you can kind of breathe for a minute and yeah it does kind of take you in terms of intensity as an audience member on a similar ride that I think yes is I think there's a great way to put that it's not
It's super bleak in context, but not in pacing.
And that's a really tough balancing act, I think, to pull off.
Because there are moments in this show where I have, like, just caught myself thinking, like,
this is so incredibly sad and demoralizing.
And you can't help in various situations, like, put yourself into these people's shoes.
And, yeah, like, hats off for kind of making a season that is, like, in a way, like we said in the last one,
I think, like, somehow feels like there's more kind of, like, cheeky, ornery fun happening
from behind the camera, even though
there is so much heft and
nastiness. And I do think, regardless
of how the landing sticks,
I think up till this point,
they have at least earned the
mantle of living
up to, again, it all
depend on how it ends and
concludes and how strong that is.
But at least up till this point, it feels like they really
put in the work to,
even though I'm sure he didn't have as much time,
it seems like the creator here really
use the time he had to really think
this out and it feels pretty
well thought out even despite
the elements that may be
missing or different and here
in this moment I'm like let's see how this plays out
to the end because maybe those elements will be
justified in a different way when everything is set
but I am sitting here going
this definitely doesn't feel like a season that
will conclude the story whereas the first
season it's like yeah even if you never followed
Gihun after the end it would
still feel like complete somehow
you know so I wonder what element
of complete this will feel or
not because you know
Netflix you know the whole point is like leave them
leave them more more leave one more leave one on that cliffhanger
I feel like I read somewhere
that there's a season two and three
I'm not sure I kind of stay
more away from shit like that
because I'm always afraid of getting spoiled
yeah so I
but I feel like there's supposed to be a two and three
I saw some headline
about the actor plays Gihon
and it was like this guy comments on
season two and if there will be a season three
and I was like nope I don't even want to know what he said
I don't even want to know because I know
anytime a show continues people are going to
be like season three. So yeah
I don't want to know until we're
done in another hour's
time. Yeah and then of course
because there's a lot of things that I
do want to talk about. I'm like long
kindness and like some threads here
there's stuff that
in terms of I feel like I'm already here
going I feel like you need a season three
assuming if Gihon lives. I feel like
you need a season three. There's kill him and it's done
if he's dead and I'm like well shit
you know um uh but as as far as this episode went yeah i think like the a lot of the new characters
are still great the the implementation of the debate of the x and o consistently happening is a
really strong force and the tension of what is in ho really doing does he have some type of bigger
plan the elements that i'm really hoping they they land and is the final episode with uh junho
because I loved him in the first season
as the detective unpacking all this
it was always very intense when you were cutting to him
as he had to like play along and try to
improv the whole time because he didn't know what he was getting into
and it really seemed like we were getting into something
that might be like even more personal
and more of his season and more character development
and then it after they felt for the bait
it's just been like meandering and the same shit
and so that's been that has been a bit of a little
let down and in terms of the journey though but i could have a completely different opinion by the
time the next episode ends part of me expects a saw ending where they could kill off guiho and
just put junho in the game and like see what happens after that because something's got to be up
with their search here like something must i i trust the show enough to assume that something will
come of all this and we won't just end the show this season think of the fisherman guys as a bad guy i think he's
done on it he's got to be and uh and i mean as much as i have joked this is just a personal thing
and i will not hold it against the show if they don't i i would like them to acknowledge the
vipes we don't have to have them but i think like it was such a distinct weird element of the
first season that like it would be nice to at least like you pay some lip service to like
why they're not here anyway or just acknowledge like because this game seems much more in
isolation than before and maybe it's just like they don't feel the need to cut to that but like there's
no acknowledgement of that whatsoever sure and uh it would be nice it would be nice it would be nice
but you never know john they might show back up but guys keep a look out we got one more to get
through appreciate you for being on us on us journey you know i meant to say all right bye
