All right.
We got shirts, too.
Got good shirts.
I like our shirts.
I actually like I was being dismissive of.
It's a good shirt.
Yeah.
I mean,
your shirt's official.
It's big.
And mine's license.
It's a,
I need, like,
tight it in it.
Yeah.
It's a little too big.
It says,
Snip, snip,
snip at the bottom.
Hey,
Invader.
Oh, my God,
it worked.
I know.
Oh, yeah.
It's poetry.
It rhymes.
That's right.
That's right.
R.R.
token.
Yeah.
All righty.
All righty.
So, Michael,
look,
I'll say this.
We knew Docy would die.
No.
I thought he was going to be dead.
I absolutely wrote season two in my head.
It's a docky season.
That docky and mall try to rescue Devin from Vader, who is training her to be his secret apprentice to take down Cidius.
That is too much.
No, I think it's the right amount.
It's too much.
Greg.
Docky dead.
That was brutal.
I also, I loved how they, we saw the death happen through Devin's feelings.
instead of seeing the moment of impact of the lightsaber.
And they absolutely, that was probably the most graphic
lightsaber hole I have ever seen in my entire life.
And animated.
In animated.
Even outside of animated, it was like a chunk out of him.
Really?
Everybody else was like, oh, it's easy.
You know, that, it was like, whoa.
I don't remember if Osaka didn't have.
I remember when Sabin Rang got stabbed and then went to work the next day.
Yeah, well, you know.
sometimes Greg
not everybody has great health care
not everyone
to take time off
not everybody has BTO to spare
Greg
well yeah
I thought that this was
what do you mean
we make the joke of
it's like poetry or rhymes
so this really is like poetry or rhymes
there's so many layers
that's the matic resonance
yeah I mean I think the fact
that our first introduction
to mall
I mean number one
there's the great irony of it all
that ultimately Vader
became what Mall always dreamed of being
and what he was meant to become.
And so there's like this element
of this stolen destiny
that I'm sure haunts
the living heck out of Mall.
And now it's confirmed.
You know, because for the longest time,
he knew there was Palpatine,
but after Dukyu died, after Grievous died,
like, I don't think it was necessarily clear to him
that Sidious had found a replacement.
Yeah.
And then on top of that,
you have this
they've met.
In Clone Wars
at the end of Clone Wars
he was telling Osoka
that he was seeking Anakin Skywalker
as an ally.
Oh, I didn't know.
I don't remember the specific lines
if it was.
I'm trying to remember the specifics there too,
but I don't think it necessarily
processed to him.
Or maybe it did during this battle
that that is Anakin.
Yeah.
And that part of the plan
has come to fruition.
I mean, that's just way too much
information to explain. Yeah. Well, so you just call him it instead. That is what he's turned into.
Yeah. Yeah. No, and I was also thinking about for Dockey. Docky, there's no way he didn't know Anakin.
Yeah, that's a good point. You know, and there was also sort of this element, especially because he's on the smaller side.
There was a moment where he was like hitting down and it was like, oh, he's absolutely seeing Yoda in his head right now.
hitting down, isn't that also how
Luke attacked Vader in return of the
Jedi? Yeah, when he's full of rage at the end. Yeah.
No, that's, again,
there's the poetry. But all of this coming down to
had Maul
succeeded, none of this would have happened.
And Vader is really the ultimate sort of
look at his failure as an apprentice.
Yeah.
But I think beyond that, the deeper layer is none of this would have happened had two boots, not call the Empire.
Literally, though.
The amount of suffering that occurred as a result of that is very hard to explain.
Empire would have eventually come anyway.
That's how the Empire rolls, man.
Eh, but two boots.
He's the Jar Jar of the Mall series.
I suppose.
I love two boots, though.
No, I do too.
I love Jar Jar.
but Misa think he's a fucked up.
He kind of did.
Yeah, he kind of did.
He kind of did.
Obviously, because we're not just talking about these episodes, but like of the season,
what did you think of the pacing?
It's great.
I think this would be a great binge.
I think it works as a, I think they did the release model very smart on this.
Two episodes at a time.
Yeah.
Very good.
Just enough.
Just enough for you getting a hybrid of a binge.
and a weekly for excitement.
I think as one complete package,
it just ramps up to the full-on intensity.
Like, it was very overwhelmingly intense by the finale.
Like, the penultimate had a crazy fight
with freaking the Inquisitors versus our protagonist.
And then we get Inquisitors again,
Vader, who's just this, like, a demon,
this giant's demon.
It's crazy that we went from, like,
oh, wow, they, like, broke into the,
their apartment and there's this intense. And I'm like, wow, how could it feel any bigger than it
already is? I thought pacing wise, it was really, it was so nice to let the show breathe.
Yeah, absolutely. You know, I really thought that Doc he was going to, like, you know, we said it
every single episode, oh, this is the one, this is the one. Yeah. And the restraint to not do that
until the end and to let her slow sort of descent towards the dark side be as a result.
of Moll's betrayal there though.
Well, it read like he was fleeing and he want, but yeah, no, he fully betrayed Dockey.
Like he wanted Dockey to die and for her to witness.
Well, and Doc said the two of us together have a chance, which another great reference
to episode two and episode three of, dude, that was, that was, we'll go in together.
I'm just saying that immediately gets arms chopped off.
I thought he was going to have a little bit more of a, of a quai,
Dawn death where it's in the middle of a fight.
And it's like, he's about to dead.
I wasn't expecting them to lean into the villainy side of mall in that moment.
Let mall, that's what's smart about it.
They still let him actually be a villain in that moment.
They didn't sugarcoat that.
Well, it's the, a selfless Jedi would have never been able to make that decision.
No, no.
Even though that in short, at least one of them survives.
Yeah, for sure.
A SIF, however.
Siff deals.
Absolutes. Scyl Absolutes.
That was absolutely
gorgeous. The fight scenes were incredible
here. It's some of the best, man. This is
it's like
the Clone Wars Penultimate
tends to take the cake
for animated lightsaber fights.
There's something to be said about
at least the choreography here.
You know, like the emotional intensity
is a little hard to match.
It's a fucking Osoka versus Mall.
This really takes,
this might be like better in terms
of choreography.
Oh, yeah.
I mean,
I think it,
it took it
to a different level
entirely.
Yeah.
I mean,
you used the word
mesmerized during
that one sequence
were all four of the
red lightsabers were all
colliding with each other.
And it was just a,
it's a,
it's so crazy
because I recently watched
a clip of like early Clone Wars.
Okay.
The juxtaposition
and the quality of animation
from the start of Clone Wars
to today is just,
I mean, like, hats off to all of them.
And in so many ways, it's, um, it has been such a emotionally fulfilling thing for
growing up with Clone Wars.
This just gets progressively darker and darker and darker.
And I feel like, this is such a beautiful payoff for somebody that's enjoyed all of that
through the years.
You're so right.
They, they really map this out smart to let Devin go to the dark side.
Like some stuff did fulfill, come to fruition, what some of us expected would occur.
They still earn it, though, in ways that surprise you.
They make it rewarding for how Docy dies, for how she actually turns.
The decision, you know, the decision is made when she decides to grab the lightsaber from all.
Like, it's orchestrated so well, and everything is so overwhelmingly intense that by the time you get,
this was a great visual two-parter because they still kept narrative and emotion.
moving forward, where they didn't need to stop and have, like, character dialogue scenes,
even though they had some, you know, like, I kind of like Riley.
Riley's whatever.
I mean, I think it's more Riley represents than anything.
He's a thing for Lawson.
Well, not just for Lawson, but I think he's especially heading into season two.
I think he is an essential emotional thread still linking Devon to her past.
That's true.
That is true.
So do you think Rook is dead?
You know, the more I think about it, the more I'm thoroughly convinced that Lawson and Rook actually get out together.
You actually made a really good point that they could.
I thought I heard like a neck snap.
And that's maybe what we heard and maybe that's what will happen.
But I don't necessarily believe that either of those characters considering how big of a role that they've played that they would be off screen.
Sure.
Because think about it.
Everyone else has gotten it on screen in this episode.
Yeah.
Starting with SpyBot, which was horrific.
Yeah.
And then the Dathamiri Zebrac, which was just like so devastating how he jumped into the acid a la Gallum and Return of the King.
You know, it's funny.
I do remember you pointing out, he really likes SpyBot and how he liked his droid and Phantom Menace.
I thought that was like, ah, Michaels is really reading it to something.
But then he really is like.
No, that's why by the dice and it hits.
And he's like, no.
Like, you're fucking upset by it.
No, but I think that's part of what makes Mall such an interesting character, right?
Like, he's part of being a Sith is giving into attachments.
Yeah.
You know, that's why he cares about each one of these people.
And ultimately, I mean, his, even with Devin, it might be like coming from a very selfish place.
But I think he already really cares.
about her.
You know, and like,
probably.
The only fear that he really experienced
this entire time was at the prospect
of losing her when Vader appeared.
Yeah.
But I think that's sort of the,
and honestly something I hope that they explore
with the series now.
Like, yeah, the Jedi get rid of all attachments.
Um,
and yet they're good people.
So can you have like a healthy
dynamic between a SIF master and
apprentice that shows like,
the joy that exists between them and the font like it's going to do the thing that acolyte did not
get the opportunity to do i mean and i'm glad that you brought acolyte up because this really
did have a it felt of a similar vein in terms of intensity i mean i felt like the um well the setting
the setting but even the inquisitors had the same sort of like oh my god what the heck was the
guy's name wasn't the acolyte was it
No, the main Ackleit guy?
Yeah, the guy.
The main bad guy.
Oh my God.
I'm a bad Star Wars fan.
I think you get a pass with Star Wars fans, even though we were...
It got canceled.
Yeah.
So I decided to clear a little room in the hard drive and add force on leash back into it.
We weren't big fans of the Akely, but we were nowhere near, like, the egregious haters.
I didn't...
I mean, it was one of those series that, like, I wish they would have let it cooked for another season.
Yeah.
And honestly, what's the biggest fundamental difference between this series and that series?
That series had zero respect for pacing.
This series has nothing but respect for pacing.
The amount of restraint that was required that made this finale feel as big as it did is a credence to the writers.
Sure.
Because like when you're playing around with Star Wars and lightsabers, it's really easy to just like want to do it all right away.
But even like down to two boots and spy bot and like, why do I care of?
about spy bot.
Yeah.
You know.
But I went,
no,
you know?
I love the layers to it.
Even when he's fighting
the Inquisitors,
there's the layers
because they are all in some way,
like,
it's like being part
of the Black Widow program or something.
Or you're all part
of the same sperm donor.
You know,
like,
you know what I mean?
I don't think that's what the Inquisition is,
Gregory.
It's all,
it's all just,
uh,
Sidious donating and then they get
bit made.
Doth,
Spurb, don't know.
Darth's sperm.
In some way, there's some type of relation or connection, even with the Inquisitors,
because they're all descendants to some extent of Darth Sidious.
So I like how this show has thematically made everything useful.
And I remember years ago, that clip where Faloni was defending the shit out of the Phantom Menace.
And a lot of those things that he defends, I think, really came full circle here.
No, I mean, that's one of the,
It's funny because as time goes on, the Phantom Menace becomes, I enjoy Phantom Menace far more than Attack of the Clones, which I see as the weakest of the prequels.
A lot of people say that.
And I did not feel that way growing up.
I always would have said, you know, episode two and then episode three is the best.
And episode one is about, you know, Misa think we used to come a long away.
And we have.
Anyway, guys, what do you think about this episode of, of Marlon?
shadow lord
Michael,
Tessler
Greg.
Darth Michael.
Greg.
Is there any
Darth Twilight's?
Twilocks?
Yeah.
And legends.
Like who?
The inspiration.
As he types it in.
The inspiration,
which technically
comes in the sequel,
in like the alternative
sequel era,
which is, of course,
Darth Tallin.
That's the one.
Now everybody's like,
it's not Darth Tallinn and like, yeah, obviously
it's not Darth Tallinn because that's
after the galactic Civil War
and she's connected with
Cade Skywalker is a descendant of Luke
and I'm actually not familiar
with this character. Oh, yeah.
I feel like I've heard this name before though. Well, this has been the
inspiration for the character.
Oh, so the idea is that
that she would
sort of fill in a similar role
as, but it's funny because
like... Does Darth, does this Twilik
interact with Moll? No, no.
The mall is super dead.
Okay.
This chapter.
This literally takes place 100 years after the galactic Civil War.
Okay.
So the original trilogy.
Damn, she's fucking hot.
I think that's why people want to see this adaptation.
Yeah, this is, if you're like into like goth mommy culture, this is definitely your cup of tea, Greg.
I'd do it.
I'd do it.
All right, guys.
Well, do you guys want to see Darth Tallinn, be hot?
Leave your thoughts down below on Talon.
Leave your thoughts, T-H-O-T-S.
Oh, so this is a common theory.
It's literally on Star Wars.com.
No, this is well-established.
Oh, okay.
But actually, that's sort of an interesting thing.
What if she ends up in like, wait, I have a crazy conspiracy theory.
Hang on.
Hang on.
Because I have a theory right now about what the future of Star Wars is.
because Grogu
Gungi
and several other characters
are going to live a really long time
so I think Star Wars is going to do like
a hundred year jump
oh that'd be crazy
where Grogu is like a teenager
you know
Yoda equivalent teenager
Gungi is like Chewy's age
you know I don't know if teenage grogues
is what people want
I don't know either
but I think that Star Wars needs to take a leap
and I think the best way to do that is into the future.
But what if she ends up in carbonite?
That would be cool.
And then she comes back as Darth Tallon.
Darth Tallon.
Darth Tallin.
Guys, you think she's Darth Tallinn?
Leave your thoughts below.
Do you think we're going to get a sequel,
sequel trilogy with Gunji and Groku?
I'd be down.
I'd be down.
And I'm down with the cause with all you,
rejects.
Take care.
