Ring the bell, ring the bell.
Thanks for prepping for helping edit down these highlights.
We super appreciate you.
Let's get onto our Patreon questions.
Thank you guys so much.
So a reminder that if you join Patreon,
you get to send us questions.
It's the first thing we do after watching a review,
is we get right into it. You get a full week in advance of what we're shooting and you get to send us
some good old questions. So our first one is from a rat. The Russians failed at home,
but succeeded in Hawkins. What make, what makes Hawkins so unique? What do you think
the Russians ultimate end game is with that gate?
Well, I think what makes Hawkins so unique is the events of the first two seasons.
Yeah.
What do you think their end game is?
God, the prediction thing.
I'm always so off.
I really, I mean, what do you, what do you, I know you've seen it.
So it's like, you got to be so careful if you do remember anything, but like, I really,
yeah, but I know you're only going gonna say something if you really don't yeah, I'm not gonna be like call
Yeah, of course, of course. I'm not gonna do that
You know what
I'm kind of thinking is cuz they they were saying we did it all for you like they're talking to
11 and We did it all for you. Like they're talking to Eleven. And then I thought, well, Eleven's mom was kind of near Hawkins.
So maybe it's that, like the whole thing was started there with the special kids.
Do you know what I mean?
So I think that's what makes it so unique.
And I don't know, I just started thinking like, why did he keep saying, we built it all for you.
This was, we're coming for you.
And I was like, this is so odd to me.
So.
But that's what the creature's been
regards to the Russians end game.
I mean, usually with governments and that stuff,
it's all about power and control.
So I mean, that's, I guess the easy answer to go with. I don't know what
their end game is. I mean, cause did he say why they're opening it back up the Russians
I might have with the energy thing. I might've missed the dialogue if they, if they did say
they didn't really, I just remember they said it's all about location, location, location.
That's why they picked Hawkins, I remember that.
There's a lot that we were taking in, so.
Ultimate end game with that gate by opening it up.
Yeah, obviously again they were there
because of the events of the first two
and they saw what happened from that perspective.
Maybe they wanna use it as a weapon.
I mean, yeah, I could see that.
You know what?
My brain automatically goes to weapon,
because the green juice I thought was for a nuclear bomb,
and now I'm thinking the green juice is part of the laser,
which helps it burn through the wall, acid, right?
And then I'm thinking maybe the energy makes
whatever's in there bigger. Yeah, I mean, that's where I come to weapon with power and control using it as a weapon. So yeah, I think that's
But we shall see
Um, okay question right? I think we just have one more or oh, no, there's more. I'm sorry my bad
Did not see that. Okay from Gabriel
Do you think that Joyce and Hopper will juice before the end of season first of all I'm sorry
So glad we got other people seeing the juice line. Yeah, we got to get a shirt by the way of like Tara
I know we got I know we got to ring the bell shirt
Which is the greatest shirt of all time, but I need to make my my do you gotta have a shirt of Tara saying?
They're just in it. my, my, I think we've got to have a shirt of Tara saying they're
Jocelyn it's something like that.
What do you guys think?
Yeah. Before the end of the season,
definitely by season four, a hundred percent.
But by the end of season three,
cause we got two more episodes.
The only thing that would stop,
that would make me hesitate to see us,
there's only two episodes left.
Yeah. We're in the middle of shit right now
There's so much happening and we still and we still have to converge. It's not impossible
Tara I it still could happen. I'm hopeful
100% season 4 100% because we've already got and I know the argument can be when they say our children's because he's got 11
She's got will and Jonathan. So she's just saying that was really she's just
Saying our children. I know we're looking at it from the hopeful side of they will get together and foreshadowing
I'm hopeful, but I still think season 4 what about you I?
Just think there's too much happening for it
There's a lot going on that I literally think it's impossible that they will have time to juice anything. Yeah. Um, and I feel like
maybe, yeah, maybe season, maybe season four. It's gotta be because they've been
leading up to it a lot where the way that he looks at her and like how
they're fighting like a married couple, like when he crashes the truck,
he's like, Joyce, right?
It's very much like an old married couple,
which I really, really like.
So I can't wait,
because like what's it gonna be like when they kiss?
Like, are they gonna do it like a rom?
You know, like it's gonna feel like a rom-com.
Remember how excited you were when like Pam
and what's his nuts on the office finally juiced it?
I never saw it.
It might feel like that.
I just remember too when Jonathan and Nancy
first started juicing and we were how excited we were.
Yeah.
So, but-
It's going to be like that.
I could see before, while all the crap is happening,
opera and Joyce is like,
hey, Smirnoff, go into, or Lexi, go into the other room.
We gotta juice it really quick.
The world might be ending.
We don't know.
We gotta do this.
There's no way.
I would love that though,
but I mean like Hopper is so hopped up.
Like he's hopped up right now on getting the info.
So I don't know.
Yeah, thank you for the question, Gabriel.
So our next one's from Rennie
Oh, hey, it's really cool to see new aspects of 11's powers that we haven't seen before like her jumping into Billy's memories
If you could get L another power going for what would it be?
Also, if you two could jump into each other's minds, what do you think you would see? Oh, love you guys
I would see a lot of Halloween in Tara's mind.
I think she would see a lot of that in mind as well.
Yeah, it's probably true.
If I could give Elle another power,
I guess because she can already,
she can see into what people are doing currently
and she can see memories.
I guess the power of foresight, you know, into the future.
Yeah.
I guess that's one power, right?
Do you think that'd be a cool one?
That would be a good one. Yeah, cuz maybe she could stop possible atrocities from happening in the future
Well, look what she just she just had that
She just had it through Billy
Which right now at the end of the episode?
Because she has foresight now. He's like we're all coming for you, and she saw them all line up at the thing
I thought yeah, yeah, but I thought that was currently happening, so I didn't think oh well it is
But I feel like now she knows what's gonna happen. Yeah, no, that's true
But I know you mean I mean like foresight like I look into like a day two days a month
Yeah, I just meant like that kind of for but that's a I feel you there
But that's the only thing like current I could think of maybe I don't know if a power of a flight or invisibility
I don't know I'd be cool with any of those powers to she's already so damn powerful
But yeah, I would give her any of those powers would be cool anything in particular
I think it would be cool if we gave her the Superman eyes
Because she does a thing and then she could like burn Oh like laser. Yeah laser eyes. Let's freaking go. Love that. Yeah, that would be awesome
You let us know Renny or anyone else in the comments any other powers that don't spoil anything
Yeah, but let us know. All right from Jessica Hauser
So now that there's a clear view of Billy in his life experience
Do you consider him a victim or a villain does it change your opinion or perception? He's totally a no
He's definitely a victim and he's got I got to imagine
Are kind of like they end up they are like victims they kind of start out as one, but yeah, he's definitely yeah
Absolutely, no and we talked about this when we last filmed that I do feel bad for him
And because we saw like that one scene last season was it was last season right where his dad was
Abuse physically abusive towards him and correct the the mental anguish
Yeah, I'll probably deal with on a day-to-day basis
But to actually get to see that in his childhood and that that's what made it's been going on forever
Yeah, and that's what made his mom, you know, run away from the dad, understandably. So
it's terrible that she had to abandon her child. Like, I can't even imagine what she
had to go through as well. I'd be interested as well to know. I'm sure I doubt they're
going to show it or even go into it. Like if this also happened to the dad and this
is why he behaves this way way like was he also abused by
his own father right I got to imagine so it's it's just a cyclical thing yeah it's like
you know it's a it's a very sick cycle that is continuing to repeat because we did see
him start hitting the kid and calling the exact same thing that his dad did of like
get up pussy all that stuff so it's just you know, but again, the repeat. Yeah, for sure. But the show just does a great job because again, we thought
that Steve was such an asshole in season one. And then like, he's such a deep character.
The more you go, go through the seasons, you really have a deep found love for him. And
then also with Billy's character, we were calling him to show Rama as y'all know many
times throughout season two. And then when you get to this point, I think like this has such a great job on repeat value that when you first start
watching season two again, it doesn't justify how he's behaving. But then when you watch,
it's like you understand why he is behaving the way he is behaving. And I think the writers
just do a good job of understanding like nature versus nurture and like he is a product of
the environment around him. And that's what he grew up in. And that's all he knows.
Yeah, I feel like what when it really starts to change was I think I called it out in like
three episodes ago when he's in the sauna. And he starts to say, Hey, it's it's really
not me. I didn't want to do it. Like, please forgive me. And he's trying to his sister.
And he's like, it's a really heartfelt conversation.
And I believe that's when I said,
that's sort of the first time that we are seeing Billy
in a really vulnerable position,
digging down because he's not the kind of guy
that is gonna come off as vulnerable,
put his walls down, open up.
He's not doing that.
But at that point, when he was like being burned up,
he finally opened up.
So yeah, of course, see him as a victim.
And I think changing the, like our opinion or whatever
on the perception of him.
I mean, I think it definitely specifically changed,
like Andrew said before, when his dad,
when we saw what happened with his dad,
like six episodes ago.
And then it only made it stronger in the sauna, and then of course now,
we just know that he's flayed up, so what can you do?
I really hope they're able to save him,
because seeing what happens to those other people
that are infected with him, I know he's like the main source
of the whole thing, but seeing them all turn into like,
whatever that they turn into before they the monster starts
are really that is disgusting but i really hope billy is able to be safe because i really do feel
bad for him yeah me too what guys it's summer which means more sweating more heat way more
reasons to stay on top of your hydration i value liquid ivy so much you guys have no idea i've working hard this year, as many of you have been so kind to notice.
Strict diet, consistent exercise, managed to lose 45 pounds starting from January of this year.
Did that with no shortcuts, no shots, no shots fired at people who do shots, by the way.
I'm just saying, I made real progress, and one thing that's really helped me along the way is this bad boy right here.
So when I'm filming for hours or
hitting the gym or dealing with valley heat or dealing with a broken ac like I'm filming right
now I might see some sweat pours on me. Liquid ivy is a staple in my routine and this summer they've
dropped a flavor that's perfect for the season. It's called arctic raspberry. It's crisp,
refreshing and feels like a cold plunge for your taste buds.
It just tastes so good. Like I crave it as just an actual drink. I find it great. What I love is how easy it is. You guys just saw me do it. You just tear, pour and shake into 16 ounces of water
and it hydrates you two times faster than the water alone. Sometimes I mix it with my protein
shakes. It's powered by L.I.V. Hydris Science with three times the electrolytes of leading sports drinks
plus eight essential vitamins and minerals. It's non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free,
dairy-free, soy-free, free. It makes you feel free. I pretty much don't travel
anywhere without it. And generally if you prefer to going sugar-free most of the
time like myself, you can try their lemon lime, their rainbow sherbert, their white
peach, their white peach is delicious.
No artificial sweeteners and still taste amazing.
So if you're working hard, playing hard or sweating through your shirt this summer or
while filming in a studio with Broken AC, Liquid IV has your back.
Squeeze the most out of your summer with Liquid IV.

Rejects tear poor live more even koi genre will attest he used it the other day
Thank you liquid IV for sponsoring this video. All right, the next question is from Jess Delange
I have a question for Taryn Andrew
I've watched all the seasons of stranger things more times than I can count
But while watching season 3 through with you guys
I came to the realization that perhaps the mind flayer targeted Billy specifically because he is dark
He's a dark troubled soul. What are your thoughts on this theory?
Also, I'm absolutely loving watching your reactions to my absolute favorite show ever made. Thank you so much. Yes, we love it
Thanks for watching it with us.
Yeah, no, I think that is a great theory.
That would make total sense.
He would be someone that would be so easy to corrupt
and someone that would be the perfect host
and for this to, you know, for the mind flayer,
whatever it's called.
Yeah, and I mean, Will, I don't know if Will,
would you call Will a dark, you know?
Would you say will was a dark troubled soul too because I know that's who we took over in season two, right?
So I'm just trying to think like through the events of what happened. I guess like from the events really
But yeah through the events of season one you could make a case that he is a dark troubled soul
Just because of everything like the trauma He had to deal with in season one
So I guess you could make that argument, but I think you're on to something there. That is a very fair point
So and then you know we we had that visual to were and we also had that question like to about like seeing your actual
Dark side when he was like seeing and talking to him
So I think that is a very astute observation, Jess.
And yeah, he'd be the perfect person to take over
and easily corrupt because I think someone
who doesn't have that trauma or something like that
could easily fight back against the mind flayer.
So I think that is a very astute observation.
What about you?
Yeah, I agree.
I think what gave us like a good insight into that
is really seeing Eleven
sort of go through his memories. We're seeing the cloud where like the flare is at and it's
like red is like the color of, I mean, I know like it's like passion or whatever, but it's
just reminding me of like stress and anger. And it just makes me think that, you know, Billy has had stress and anger and rage buried
within him since childhood.
So he would be a really great leader, like for all these flayed people who would actually,
although we did see the boss like in the hospital fight Nancy and all them, like I get once
they're flayed, they become pretty nasty but Billy more
Specifically, I mean he really took that girl in the frickin trunk and he was like, I mean that was it was savage
and I think that
Utilizing everything that he's been through and the fact that he has a lot of anger buried
Inside of him would be a very useful thing to tap into as the mind flayer.
I mean, it's like, would be such an easy thing to do.
Easily corruptible.
Yeah, like a smart thing to do.
So yeah, I agree, Jess.
That's it, but let's just.
Yeah, go down.
Okay, I think that's it. That's great. Thank you guys so much for sending
us in those questions. Do you have any other last thoughts?
Again, I'm really digging this season. I love these two. I've all six episodes. Great. These
two in particular really enjoyed. I love all the dynamics and that they are converging.
I can't wait to
see the whole team together. That is seriously one of them. I know I mentioned during the
reactions like this is one of my favorite thing. This is too, but like the show brings
it out of me. But one of my all time favorite things about this show is like when we build
up towards that finale and where everything, all the, the storylines and the characters
converge together and we get that full team bonding and camaraderie because they're all so damn good together.
And I can't wait to see that. But I think the show also does such a good job because
it's, it's, of course it's an ensemble of the show. What the show just does such a good
job. There's so many plot lines and characters that they have to focus on and they really
do a good job of not,
not overwhelming the audience,
but also to giving everyone their due.
So like, because it could come to a point where you're like,
okay, by giving this person a little too much time,
you're taking out that person,
like what's important and how they need to develop.
But they don't do that.
They really do a good job of making sure that everyone's taken care of and they are properly developing the story is properly progressing and all that. So it's not an easy thing when you have this many characters. And I like I'm really impressed that they're able to do it. And the fact that they're able to add characters and add characters that we really care about and are invested in and really seamlessly
organically like fit in with the rest of the team. Like I think Robin and Erica have been
infused so well into the group and with Dustin and Steve like they work so well together
and I can't wait to see the whole team come together as one. And I really loved I gotta
say to one of my favorite scenes in the two episodes we watched was watching
just the resourcefulness and how smart hopper is seeing that Alexi, he knew, and I love
how it subverted our expectations was I, I was like, he's going to the car. He's yeah.
He's definitely going to drive off. Totally. But he knew that this guy was feared and panicked
and that he wasn't taught. He didn't leave when they were in the woods.
He's like, I let me let him think that we're going to let him go. So that way,
because he doesn't want to really go, he's, he's, he is a stroke through fear
right now. So let me show him that I'm willing to let him go right now. And
he's going to talk. So I think that was such a smart way to just show his resourcefulness
and his
Intuitive nature on hopper like he's not just a physical force, but he's actually got a brain as well
And I love hop he's just so much fun to watch on screen. Yes. He's a tragic soul
You know in terms of what has happened with his daughter. Yes, he can be overwhelming with his love for L
But he's also extremely smart and very
funny too. So he's just such a damn good character. They all are such damn characters, but love
love hopper. And I'm so glad we got conspiracy theory guy back. He is funny. He's a lot of
fun. That's a lot of fun to add him in here. I think I really liked where they started.
I was excited about it where we open up on Max and Eleven.
Obviously they formed a closer relationship.
The conversations that they're having about getting Elle,
her independent, she's not aware of all this stuff
that Max is, socially, like with a boyfriend.
Max is basically trying to be like,
listen, you don't own Eleven.
She's your girlfriend, she's a positive ad,
like back off, let her do her thing,
let her have a little independence,
you have to put some trust in her
and not be like an overbearing protector.
Which it's funny to me,
cause like I'm thinking this is the 80s
and they're really young,
like that has to be such a rare conversation that was
had versus like now of course it's like with the movement now we're in like 2020
like it's it's a thing but um I really like that they're adding that in and
when we see that it's really tested is when Mike goes to sit down at 11 he's
like she's trying to tell her you don't have to do this and Al just goes you
have to trust me.
And the funniest thing to me is Mike looks at Max.
He looks at Max and Max is like,
like what I've been fricking telling you, dude.
And I love the advancement in that story
that happens very specifically between Max and 11.
She needed some girl power, some girl code in
her life, so that she could really grow into her own, which
is why I loved it when he complimented her. He's like, I
like the new style. It was just like, I love that we've seen her
grow a lot and and which made it where I was scared when she was
in that room, the door was locked. I thought what Mike was saying, he's like,
you don't understand, she could put putting her life
on the line and all that, it's dangerous.
I was like on his side being like, wait,
maybe Mike does need to break down the door
and maybe we don't need to give her as much independence.
And of course she comes out.
That's just great writing.
And like, secondly, they did a lot of good relationship moves
for progression with Steve and Robin,
which was a lot of fun, and seeing them together.
You can get the chemistry and the vibe on screen,
especially when they're tied back to back,
and they have to work together
to try to get out of this thing.
And then of course, once they're like laughing
and all like goofy, it's not like crazy things come out,
but I liked that before they were put on the drugs,
Robin was like, listen, I used to be obsessed with you
and all I ever wanted in my life was to be popular
and that's what you were.
And I know that a lot of people can relate to that,
you know, and I like that Steve was like,
listen, if you were to get there,
it's not as cool as you think it is.
And to see that sort of conversation happen,
it was such a vulnerable place to be for both of them,
for her to like openly admit, you know, she gives shit.
Like Robin is a shit giver.
And I really, really just, I love that scene a lot.
It was so great.
It was just, it was a nice thing to see
and then to sort of end on, yeah, we're laughing,
let's get away from these Russians
and they break us out kind of thing.
It was nice to see her wall come down
and be vulnerable with him.
I mean, sad that it had to be in a situation
where they think they're gonna die
because they're in the Russians being held hostage.
Totally.
But it was a really beautiful moment
and their chemistry is so damn good.
I agree.
I also love the moment too
where Mike professes his love for Eleven.
I know he didn't mean for it to come out,
but it did come out
and I love everyone's reaction to it
It really gives you that tight-knit family feeling like the way they generally how positive they were towards him saying how much he loves her
And how caring he is and it's yes
I do agree with you that he does need to have more trust in her
But it's also because he's so in love with her and so protective that he doesn't want anything to happen
It's not I don't feel it's like an overbearing
type of control thing.
It's just more about he doesn't want anything
to happen to her and how much, how,
he thought he lost her last season,
he was never gonna see her again.
So I understand the feeling of protecting her.
Right, absolutely, I think so too.
Yeah, it's not a, to me me again if it was more of a hey
I want to be possessive and controlling towards her that that definitely would be a thing that he wouldn't for sure need to work on
But I understand the the more compelling argument of hey
She's got these powers. We really need to learn to trust her as well
I mean, but there's an art
I think the brilliant thing the show does it gives you an insight into how they both are feeling and you
Can agree on both things? Mm-hmm. Yeah, I agree and I think
Lastly, you know the other relationship that where we're really opening up at this point
Or I guess I would say it's sort of like the Dark Knight of the soul in a script wise if it was a movie
Is that we also get dusting admitting to Erica that she's a nerd and he's also a nerd.
He knows My Little Pony and the whole story by heart.
And I love that it's Dustin, of course,
and that eventually she's like, wait, how do you know?
And he's like, cause I'm also a nerd, durr.
And I really love that because it it it it shows that like Dustin
We can also see scenes without Dustin and Steve of course
But like now that Dustin Erica have this relationship
It makes it even more interesting to when we get back in the whole entire group and her brother is there
Like I just wonder what Lucas is gonna be and be like like, are y'all friends now? Like, what is going on
here? That's just it's just fun. It's like it's like they knew,
you know, it's like an improv when you get to the fourth
beat. It's like there's beep beep beep, you add in all those
beats together. Fourth beat includes all those people. Right?
And that's what we're getting to. And it's very exciting.
Some funny dialogue too, is when she said like oh I can believe
Everything you just said about like this the crazy things that happened l having all these powers
But Lucas being involved in all this and being brave and heroic my brother. I don't think so
Right, it's it's great

YouTube things and we will see you on the next one
Bray Bray Bray Bray, Bray, Bray.
You know, if you were to go to the upside down, you'd be Yarb.
Yarb!
Oh my god.
And Yarb is the inverse of Bray.
Yarb is a total narcissistic sociopath.
Yeah, wears a leather jacket all the time.
Nothing like you though.
Real greasy and slimy and disgusting.
You, Bray, wear your hair combed back,
glasses, you look polite, often wearing a suit and a bow tie,
and then Yarb on the other hand.
Just threshing it out, man.
He does, goes to the mirror, freezes it out.
Complete dishevelment.
And does his little Bully McGuire dances wherever he goes.
That's just what you operate as, man.
But you know what's the commonality between Yarb and Bray? Oh! little Bully McGuire dances wherever he goes. That's just what you operate as, man.
But you know what's the commonality between Yarb and Bray?
Oh.
They both care to be royal rejects.
And that's all we can really ask for.
So Bray, appreciate your loyalty.
Yarb, you're welcome too.
As long as you're both pledging,
that's all that really matters to us.
That's right.
Keep them coming.
Thanks Bray for being part of this epic journey.
And YARB.
