shall we dive into yes we didn't get questions for this one we'll get quite we'll answer the
questions for the next episode um so we'll just kind of dive into i mean my assumption is we're
just going to be like it's the old portion it's the old portion we just do our review yeah
All right, let's do this.
Oh, okay.
We are back.
Yeah, we're back.
So, yeah, this episode was incredible.
Just, again, moves the needle along the thread in regards to the plot and progressing the characters, as always.
I just am, I know I continue to just say, I don't know how, because I'm so damn invested in how good this show is in the characters, of course.
and I've been really obsessed with the first three seasons.
And dare I say, what are we now, six episodes right now into it.
So we got seven, eight, nine.
We got three more.
This might be my, so far, might be my favorite season,
which is really, like, high praise for me.
But I think what I was about to say,
and I was having a little difficulty articulating it,
is it's so impressive, and I shouldn't be impressed anymore
with the Duffer Brothers and the writing team.
But what I'm impressed most with,
how they can juggle so many different characters and storylines at once.
Yeah.
And still have it feel, not only entertaining,
but still have it feel so nuanced and balanced.
That's the same time.
And make it make sense.
Yeah.
Well, that's lost.
That too.
You could, like, at so many points, you could just be watching.
Okay, the Hopper storyline in Russia.
And then Joyce and Murray going after him.
And then also Elle trying to like relearn about getting her powers back.
And then the trauma.
Yeah, the trauma in her backstory.
and then also with Argyle and Mike
and going to Susie with Will and Jonathan
and then also with Nancy and Steve and Dustin and crew
it's like there's a lot of things to juggle
and they always do it just the right amount of balance with everything
Yeah it's just I'm so impressed
I don't know how they do it I'm actually with you on that
I shouldn't be a surprise though and I always
You shouldn't be as as much surprised
but I I do think that
um there we go um yeah i'm totally i'm totally with you yeah i'm in particular like
i don't know i don't i can't think of i will say this that that's that's set on the house
where all the crazy stuff was going on with cornelius with the electricity going off and then like
them shooting i think that was john waters if i'm wrong please guys correct me where he was like
shooting on film because just that mustache look i think his name was john runners the film make
the director. But that whole thing, that was such a fun, inventive and creative set that they
created with all the kids and their different personalities infused in there. I agree. And then with
Susie, she's, you know, she, her computer was taken away because she, you know, with professing her
love for Dusty Bun and doing something to help with his grades, she was, something of hers was
taken away as a result. So she was, again, using her creative mind to get up onto the, the roof and
connect the antenna and the tower at all that. So,
She is such a fun character.
She's barely been on the show,
but she is such a fun character.
She still fits in so well with the show.
She does.
She's super smart and a lot of fun.
And I think, like, my favorite part of this episode
that I really wasn't expecting,
and it may not be my favorite part,
but it's what I am really remembering
is the way Nancy looks at Steve
when he takes off his t-shirt on the boat.
Okay, and they do a pickup of it.
And behind her, Robin is looking at her,
kind of smiling, being like, I know what's going on here.
And then of her, of course, her telling him to be careful because we know that she cares.
And I think the other part of what I really loved about this episode was Nancy and Robin coming
closer together of like, Nancy finally calls her a friend for the first time.
And she opens up to her about Jonathan.
And we have constantly been on like, wait, which way is it going to go?
Like, is it going to go with Jonathan?
them, but she hasn't seen him. She very much tells Robin all of the stuff that has not been
happening with him. But we know that Nancy still loves him, right? And that he's actually working
towards the same goal that they are. They just have no idea. They're just working on it in different
ways. And what I think the writers and directors do a really good job with in this show, this episode
in particular, is even though she looks at Steve, we're not like, don't do that girl. That's
like cheating you're kind of like
she's not she's still
a good girl she's still a good
character she's just a human being
she's having enough time
she used to love Steve she
probably still does and still
loves Jonathan and
the subtlety in which
she's dealing with it and it allows
the audience to also deal with it
I think is very brilliant
absolutely there's no doubt in my mind she still
loves Jonathan a lot but Jonathan
has you know we've talked about
this before and Jonathan has you know he was a him and his family were abandoned by his awful father his
biological father rather and Jonathan has had to be the man of the house and has had a lot of weight
and responsibility on his shoulders throughout his life and then on top of that you have to deal with
supernatural things on top of that and also you're dealing with what happened with will in
seasons one and two it's it's a lot to deal with mentally and as well as physically and then also you
talk about, you know, the nuances and balancing act of having a girlfriend, too. While also
living 2,000 miles, I understand the mindset of why he thought to, hey, I need to relax. It's time
to turn to a little bit of grass here. And, you know, I'm just in a different place right now in my
life. It's finally time to just chill a little bit. And he did that while meeting Argyll.
So, again, they're just a little bit different places in their lives right now. I think,
that again they both really love each other just at different places right now so you know physically and mentally so she definitely has the hots for steve though that's apparent you saw that they've they've alluded to it throughout the sexual tension we've seen throughout the season and also the googly eyes they both been giving each other the season as well i guess you would say it's the unsaid thing right yeah so but um again it's it's compelling because we love all three characters i would assume for most of the audience as well as
Karen myself.
Of course we do. Yeah.
Curious to see where we go with this storyline and also, too, like, Nancy did not hesitate
to jump into the lake as soon as Steve was pulled in.
I also got to imagine, like, Nancy is just a badass by trait, and she's just a all-around good
person.
So it'd be hard for me to just see her cheating in general on Jonathan, you know, unless
they hadn't understand that they were no longer together.
But also what I was going to say in regards to her being a good person as well, I don't
think it really would have mattered had Steve been pulled in there or anyone else of the of their
crew uh the ensemble or even just an innocent person in general i think she would have jumped in there to
go save a life in general i just think she's you know that type of she's a good samaritan you know what i
mean she's she's that type of person yeah that if someone is in danger or in trouble she will
she will try her best to to save that that individual so uh but that was quite a scene you know
it's fun too i really i know we've only gotten kind of like a scene or so of it i really i
really like the Eddie and Robin dynamic because normally Eddie puts, he talks crap to a lot of
people and he puts people in their place, you know what I mean? So seeing Robin talk back at him and
he's like kind of, oh, okay, yeah, yeah. I just, I love seeing that reaction. I think it's
Joseph Quinn, the actor. I love seeing that reaction like, oh, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. You kind of
remind me of me of me, that badass edgy side. So yeah, I will, yeah. I just, I love that chemistry and
and the way he's bouncing off of Robin and reacting towards her.
I think it's fun interactions,
especially the fact that he's kind of dealing with a double homicide
and also the fact that an entire town is looking for him,
as well as I would assume that at some point's going to go after all of them.
I don't know when, but he will.
So Eddie is dealing with a lot right now.
So to have someone to have like some fun scenes with, like Robin, I think is,
it's nice to get some levity and some of the tension off for a character like Eddie.
A rejuignation, I'll be honest.
Money has always made me anxious.
If I'm low on money, I stress out about how will I make more?
And if I actually have money, I stress out about, oh, I'm afraid I'm going to lose all this.
That's why I've made a discipline, a real discipline.
Not just to manage money, but change how I relate to it.
And that's where something like Acorns comes in.
This, it is today's video.

Seriously, acorns.
You guys rock. Thank you.
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, especially now that we see them going like, you know, go kill the beast type mode, Jason gets them all worked up.
It's a satanic cult.
And then they're all leaving, right, with the intention of like, let's find this guy probably hurt him, which is not great.
But also, you know, another part of this episode, I'm.
I think they did a really good job of keeping us as audience members not knowing if
Papa is good or if he is all bad because this episode, you know, you do see that Papa does care
for 11 in a way right now in our current time of her being older and him being like,
I'm going to get your powers back.
I know this is hard.
He's trying to relate to her and he seems caring and like empathetic, right?
but then we get those flashbacks of him being there and it's very culty you know it's like yes papa
yes papa and you're like oh my god this is wakadoo um and i think the the really striking part
is at the end because now l trust him she's really in it with him now because she wakes up
and she says i remember and they're just like no no no like it's okay like well that's
That is such a tough memory, right?
They were really, really hurting her.
And she fought back, but she didn't assume she's so little.
She didn't know her powers were going to do what they did.
So her struggle of like we see blood on her hands.
She does actually have blood on her hands, even though she didn't like Chucky, right?
She just did an 11 juicing, right?
And I think that when we see her there at the end and the way that she looks at Papa,
that trust is there again.
And it makes, I think me and a lot of other audience members,
is he totally a self-serving prick?
Or does he actually love 11?
Does he really want to help her?
Or does he just want to help her for his own serving?
I think it's a possibility.
There's this combination of both.
You know what I mean?
And Matthew Medell is such a great actor.
He really draws that fine line between the two.
I think this season is really also coming up on that.
that theme of, you know, being in control of your emotions and your, and if you have that kind
of power of that, too. Like, imagine if Superman, like, was not in control of his emotions, and
when people made fun of him or something, he lashed out, like, like, look, and again, I know these
kids were physically, like, you know, actually, like, doing stuff to, uh, 211 at the, uh, at the,
uh, the government facility. So you can make an argument, this is self-defense, not, not the point
where she actually, like, took them from life, but just the point.
point like they're physically harming her and you know you can make it no no no for sure you can
say that I'm talking about like then you get the parallels of when she didn't have her powers at the
earlier part of the season at the skate rink what that girl did to 11 was disgusting zero
justification for me I have been bullied as as as Tara and my bullies in middle school they
physically taunted me or they physically harmed me as well as mentally taunted me yeah I always
do both.
Yeah, I know exactly what Elle is going through.
I don't want to pretend like I don't.
It sucks.
Bullies are the freaking worst.
So I think, but I think the season is trying to say, like, you've got to, it's best
to try and stay in check with those emotions, if possible.
But also, again, what I'm saying is on the flip side, I understand like she was younger
and not in that same realm of control in terms of her mind.
And also those kids were actually physically assaulting her and touching her.
or with their minds, whatever you want to say.
So it's a different kind of thing.
Also, too, we were getting some interesting stuff with that orderly,
how he's giving L advice.
It seemed like he was very sympathetic to her.
And there was an interesting that they did where he put it at number one.
So I'm sorry, I apologize that I kept saying at nauseam that it was he number one.
So curious to see where we go from that.
Yeah, no, we'll see.
That guy was just, that actor, great actor, but he is freaking creepy as hell.
Yeah. But, and then we saw, and then we saw at the end that they like, they were beating him or giving them electric shock treatment or something. So it happened kind of quickly, but yeah.
And that happened actually specifically after, which I thought was a really weird moment that they're in the circles and they're fighting. El wins finally. And he and Papa goes, well, looks like we have a winner. And he turns back to who we think might be one, whatever. And he kind of.
like straightens up like and he he looks and I'm like wait why is he looking at him after
l just one there's you know what's going on here and then he straightens up and he kind of like
he puts on a fake smile and then skip to they're putting electrodes in his head and he's screaming
in pain I don't know what that means but I we're going to find out I'm curious if he wanted to
unleash also L on the rest and kill because of what maybe if he is one like what has happened
to him and what they did to him
I don't I'm just specular
you never know predictions I am
curious about if you're right
and he is one
maybe it's it's a thing of like
oh we found a winner he looks
at him thinking well she's
a lot younger than you
maybe they're gonna they're gonna make
them go against each other I don't know
right like I mean the whole thing's
whack I could do and this episode was
a lot of fun and you know we do
we do get to see
you know, Dustin, he gets grabbed by the cops, and then he is still with...
Max and Lucas?
Exactly.
Yes.
And then Max and Lucas kind of have a little bit of a chat when they're walking through
the woods, which was nice, right?
I love what Robin said.
I could just squeeze them up like a ball or something like that.
Yeah.
And like, we love that too.
And we, who else did we?
I think we covered mostly everything.
But, you know, Argyll, I thought it was one of the funniest things.
with Eden with Eden he's like the funniest line i left so hard is when
eden is yelling at uh susy and our guy goes tell her Eden like it's like that dead panel
like tell her it's so good i love the direction too in the performance he had like a whisper
and a love behind his voice and i loved it so much maybe laugh out loud so so i love so i love
You know, this show just really can bring still the comedic light as well as the sci-fi scary juice that's going on.
And finally, we get, you know, Joyce and Murray, they're in the church.
They finally got the weapons with Yuri.
I also like that because Yuri fooled them in the beginning.
They finally took a trick out of his own playbook and flipped it on him.
So, like, good.
And also, too, I was wondering, like, if they're supposed to infiltrate that prison, I don't like the idea that they're going to.
leave it up to the in the hands of yury no good and then when they said oh no you're not you're gonna be
murray i'm gonna be here i'm like thank you and he also knows russian too murray knows russian so this is
such a smart plan i was like now i'm on board with this plan do not trust yury great plan murray
i love how resourceful and quick on his feet murray he is so this is why i love this show too
is because they know how to insert characters that might just have small little bits and seasons
and then they know how to amplify their roles
and insert them more into other seasons.
Yeah.
They're so good at that.
Like, I love his character so much.
Like, in the other seasons, I liked him.
I love him now.
Yeah, yeah.
And I, you know, in this episode, in the one moment,
it piss me out so bad.
They're tying up Yuri.
He's already taking like 50,000 of their dollars, right?
And the plane is crashed.
And then he's like asking for.
for more money. And I'm like,
sounds Yuri. Are you insane
in the membrane? What's
going on here? And I'm glad that they finally
came to make him sort of
a game piece because I'm happy to see
him being played because he's played
so many other people. And I know that
Murray and Joyce have such a strong
enough conviction to be
able to go, no, we're going to make
this happen because we have to get Hopper.
so and I'm excited about that um but man I love this episode I can't wait to watch the next one oh and shout out again to uh yeah Jim Pork Roll thank you Jim Pork Roll seriously we love these shirts they are badass yeah they're the best we're so glad that you sent these to us we are super appreciative and obviously we're part of the alpha club we ride a door um okay any last thoughts no I'm just again again
I think we just love it.
Yeah, I can't wait to see just what happens after they all jumped into the lake.
We know Steve is wherever Vecna is in the upside down.
Did I say it right this time?
Yep.
I knew one day I would get it.
You got it.
I'm curious to see that.
If Mr. Orderly is number one or Vecna or whoever he is, I don't know.
It's so curious about that.
What are the self-serving interests?
What's going on with Pop?
There's just so many different layers.
Are Mike and Will going to hook up?
like there's just and then like what's going to happen with hopper in the prison what's he how's he
going to react when you sees joy is he just going to be so far gone from his uh what humanity he even
had because he only had like a shred of humanity you know 11 kind of brought that back into his
life after and even joyce gave him a little semblance of that after the lot uh his wife left him
and his daughter passed from cancer i believe it was originally so you know being in this russian
prison for as long as he's been like i just like psychologically i'm curious to how he reacts
when he sees Joyce again.
You know, that's going to be a fascinating reaction.
Like, is it just going to be Joyce or is just going to be like,
I don't know.
We'll see.
We'll see.
There's so many different things to look forward.
Yeah, there is.
We love you guys.
Thank you so much for joining us.
We can't wait to see you on the next one.
Leave all the likes,
leave all the comments.
We'll see you then.
