Starting point is 00:02:01 Okay. So I'll let you give some quick, open thoughts about how you feeling, Andrew. Lots of things. Oh, my God. So much to talk about. It was incredible. That was one of the most badass and coolest moments ever with Will. This kid has been through so much torment, so much anguish.

Starting point is 00:02:22 What Vecna has put him through throughout the season. and to call him weak like that. And the heart to heart that he had with Robin will tell him that, hey, no matter what, all in through, you've got the power within you, you know, all the, you, no matter what happens, you are the answer. And I thought that was just such a beautiful interaction, it's one of my favorites, actually, in the entire series. And then to see him, like, believe in himself.

Starting point is 00:02:49 Because at the end of the day, we only have ourselves, right? when it comes to when we're we have support systems of course and that's what helped him there in that moment with Robin but when we have to look for answers as well as the support systems we have

Starting point is 00:03:03 we have to find that strength within us as well and I love that Will did that and that was just one of the coolest badass reveals and we got a little hint to that too when we saw that the demigorgon was kind of backing out of the barn it looked like Will was sort of controlling it there so he was starting to get a feel for

Starting point is 00:03:19 it I'm curious to see what's going to happen with, like, at some point they're going to have to destroy the hive mind. I hope that means Will doesn't have to sacrifice himself and be taken with it. But all in all, that was one of the most badass things I've ever seen, just seeing him have the power right there. And seeing him that, especially right after Vecna just called him weak and just everything he's put him through, as I just mentioned. So such an incredible moment for Will. and that uh still i haven't remembered that actor's name yet but he really sold the moment there so much you could just buy it was such a cathartic thing for him just after everything that has happened

Starting point is 00:04:01 all the pain and just to be able to like really embrace that that moment right there and then have that type of power was so beautiful so well executed and then also to feel the emotionality too of what Hopper was prepared to do having encompassed that too with seeing what happened with his daughter he's just not losing another daughter is just not an option and even though he's got a family now with Joyce

Starting point is 00:04:29 with all the other kids and with Elle he's willing to do whatever it takes to protect that family and I think that's just sad and beautiful at the same time and that was really endearing and yeah there's a lot more I can talk about but just keeping on the short thoughts what do you think of the episodes

Starting point is 00:04:44 I'm really really loving it I do really like the new character, Derek, that they threw in there. We're getting to, in getting to season five, when you throw in a new character, they're still throwing in a kid that feels very 80s, nostalgic. It's, nowadays, we, they're not actually going to cast like a chubbier kid who's, like, eating and, and that he gets made fun of, he was a little bit of a bully. We did see him. That's just why people were like, screw, screw you, Derek.

Starting point is 00:05:15 but I really like that they kept it. They're still keeping it. In his writing, it's still very old school, which I love. It's sort of like, it's very nostalgic. Him being the trap, I think, is a lot of fun. And it throws in like some new blood in there. I think the most surprising thing for me is how much less 11 was in, I believe, in both of these episodes, her and Hopper haven't been.

Starting point is 00:05:45 in the episodes as much. I don't mind it. I did really like the shootout. I thought that was a lot of fun with Hopper, her using her powers, but she gets snapped off right away because of the sound. So now that we're finally getting into it, like the sound is off.

Starting point is 00:06:05 Hopper's there. What are we looking at? We found eight. And Will has got freaking ward powers. Like, let's freaking go. Now I'm like, oh, it's really about. out to take off, but these episodes were really, really good foundation. And I also agree that, you know, again, as I said, we did talk in great detail about the

Starting point is 00:06:28 Lily Allen affair with Frickin David Harbor. Now, listen, I'm just saying this for people who I am viewing sometimes him in 11, and I'm thinking, did they do these scenes together or did they have to like not? Because she's like suing him or whatnot. Um, overall, I still think that the chemistry was there between 11 and, and Harbor. Um, I know. I use his real name, Harbor. Oh, oh, David Hart. Uh, anyway, I still think that chemistry is definitely there and I felt it. And I thought it was such a sweet moment when he calls her Jane. And he just says, I love you, Jane. He goes back to to her OG name that we haven't heard in a long time. And, and, I thought it was such a sweet moment. And, And I just like, I adored it.

Starting point is 00:07:12 I also really love the nostalgic throwbacks. We go back to the Rainbow Room. We're in there with Max. Max is sent there. We do see that disaster that we've seen before in previous seasons. And now that she's teaming up with Holly, I think that's a lot of fun. And now that we're all together, you know, sort of with more of us in the upside down. And then we've got Joyce and the rest of them sort of helping with the kids.

Starting point is 00:07:39 there's still a lot going on, as there always is, in every single episode here with Stranger Things. It's still, it's a lot of fun. And I love it. I did want to say that I was reading that the Turnbow reference, so in chapter three, it's called the Turnbow trap. And the Turnbow reference, it's a throwback to the Turnbow Land and Development, which is a Hawkins power player previously on.

Starting point is 00:08:09 signage that you would see so that's like that paid off um and then they said something else about season two i was reading um i might find it here in a sec that they were like oh yeah we plan this in season two which i thought was very cool obviously i really like um this last episode i think the most because of the one shot there was a hidden shot with the demi gorgon um flying in towards the camera, but they did all of that action on set with all of the kids, all of the military, all of the trucks, working with special effects, working around it going all the way around the freaking building and back and hiding. That was a oneer. Yes, there was a hidden shot. Of course. It does not matter. My point being is like that was such a brilliant shot. And when

Starting point is 00:09:05 the Duffer brothers direct, they're the ones that have. have the long woners, which I am obsessed with. They've done it in most of the stuff that they direct. And I wish that we could get them for all of them. But I don't know if they're going to direct, you know, the last three. I would hope. Definitely would say the last. I would say the last.

Starting point is 00:09:26 I mean, there's still four more episodes. So I would say the last two. I would guess that they're going to be. They usually do in the previous four seasons. But I was so intrigued by when we were with Max and Holly. and we were looking at some of Henry's memories and we saw that Henry, for a moment, did go to high school with Joyce and with Hopper.

Starting point is 00:09:46 I don't know how much of that they're going to unpack here in the next four episodes. If they don't do too much into that, just throwing something out there really quick, I would love at some point of even a spinoff if they go into that. I know they're going to have to talk about the upside down and that Joyce and Hopper never knew about the upside down.

Starting point is 00:10:03 So how do you incorporate that? Whatever the case is, I'd love for the Duffer Brothers or who I'd, ever wants to tackle that. I prefer to be the Duffer Brothers, but I would love to spend a lot of time just dealing in that high school environment and with Henry and with Hopper and Joyce. I think that there's a plateau of things you could do there. But either way, I thought that was something interesting that they just at least gave us a nod to and showed us that there's a connection there. So I don't know how well they knew Henry, but I would imagine he was an outcast and

Starting point is 00:10:36 someone that they just knew of if they didn't know very well but that was definitely intriguing and then how close to Max came to escaping I got to imagine too that might have been Vecna's doing that

Starting point is 00:10:50 with the tape or we saw that the tape was at the end of its course right there and it needed to be rewound but just so many different things that I love about this season so far granted we don't have to wait too long thankfully but I am so damn

Starting point is 00:11:06 invested in the season now the stakes have really been raised we got the kids are you know back into the upside down rather from uh vekna and he's going to use them as hive minds and now we've got to save the day with them with uh the crew so and also too we got that emotional drama that's being uh with nancy the love triangle with nancy with steve and jonathan and we know that jonathan wants to propose to Nancy, you saw the moment where Nancy was agreeing with Steve

Starting point is 00:11:37 and that really, you could see how much that hurt Jonathan that just, because they're having this whole you know kind of standoffish thing going for Nancy

Starting point is 00:11:50 and to see her agree with him in that moment that did not feel good for Jonathan so I wonder if he's going to be questioning himself if he should be proposing to her. I hope not, but... No, I'm not saying it's...

Starting point is 00:12:01 going to happen but I just said I hope not but I can he's definitely just made definitely dismayed right now and I feel for him because this a lot of shit's already going down with what they are dealing with with Vecna and the demigorgans and all that but they're going to have to have a serious talk though so it just again it creates a lot of emotional drama that we as viewers find interesting but it's going to be fascinating to see what the result is going to be this episode is brought to you by prize picks the app that finally let me crash my wife's fantasy sports click yes i used to overhear her and her friends bonding while i sat in the corner where my arms folded come to my home and i can't be included trying to pretend like yeah i know what

I think basically what Steve's argument and Nancy going, I agree with him, it was like common sense juice that I was like, Yeah, hopefully that I don't think they'll make small things turn into huge things. My assumption is I still don't think there is an actual triangle. I think they are making fun of that they are sort of like, hey man, what's going on here? Except I really do genuinely believe when Steve was like, you mean Nancy, my good friend?

Starting point is 00:14:25 And I'm like, listen, we know that yes, he was in love with her. He probably still obviously has love for her. and could still let's pretend Jonathan's not the picture could still very much fall for her I don't foresee that happening I foresee her actually staying with Jonathan but that's just me

Starting point is 00:14:41 I agree with that I do also so the Duffer brothers their whole plan back from season two they actually did know that Will was going to be in the center of this and basically link up with Henry

Starting point is 00:14:55 and that's where he gets those like powers it's not that like oh did he have you know 11's powers all along we saw him just pull a Vecna move he can get into the hive mind and that's where we see the whites the eyes and the nose bleeding all of that which was very very cool to me that was one of the most exciting twists ever when I felt it coming because I'm like why would Vecna basically be like come towards me well I'm going to give you a talking to but now that he's got his kids he's just going to let him go but I assume obviously, Henry had no idea what Will was capable of.

Starting point is 00:15:35 Yeah. Of his, you know, telekinetic, psychic, like type of abilities, which I think is just so cool that he could save not one but two, three friends, possibly more if he does the training like 11 did. We've seen 11 do some amazing shit, but that was on a different level. That was very Beckna-esque. And we know that 11's powers are very derived. from Vecna because he was number one and she's number 11 so but still I've yet to see 11 to

Starting point is 00:16:06 something to that like multitude of things at once where she's uh doing multiple things but that was so freaking cool and I have no doubt that the Duffer brothers had I mean you can tell that they've had a plan in place for a long time if not they're really good at coming up with things on the fly so either way I'm loving this the that reveal and that twist of him having the powers was so good. And whether the fact that you know that the good guys will win in the end, I think 11 and

Starting point is 00:16:37 will have something that Vecna does not. They have something worth fighting for, love. And they have an amazing support system where Vecna, Henry, views the humans as broken and as a virus. So it creates an interesting

Starting point is 00:16:53 piece of emotional drama. And I can't wait to see how this ends. The last four episodes are going to dynamite and like I said the stakes have truly increased and raised I really do not know who's going to survive and and who's going to die so I think that adds a level of intrigue but that also adds a level of I'm really scared as shit too because I don't want anyone to freaking get rid of anybody at any time they really could you don't know which would be would work really well for obviously a final season but just in case you guys didn't know you can watch the

Starting point is 00:17:30 in theaters. It'll be playing in 350 theaters throughout the U.S. and Canada. The screenings are going to take place at the exact same time as the Netflix global premiere. And the finale happens on December 31st at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Starting point is 00:17:47 That's 5 p.m. Pacific. And it'll only run through January 1st. So you have two days to watch the finale in the theaters. It's not going to go on for a week. But if you want to take your New Year's Eve, or your New Year's Day, and you want to watch the finale in a theater, you can look it up. It's probably near you, U.S. and Canada.
