Andrew & Tara keep their SUPERMAN MARATHON rolling down the road to James Gunn's Superman giving Superman III Reaction, Recap, Commentary, Analysis, & Spoiler Review!! Join Andrew Gordon & Tara Erickson as they revisit the 1983 superhero romp Superman III, where Clark Kent / Superman (Christopher Reeve, Somewhere in Time, Superman II) faces his most unusual adversary yet—computer whiz Gus Gorman (Richard Pryor, Stir Crazy, Brewster’s Millions). When small‐town tech genius Gus lands a gig with sinister oil baron Ross Webster (Robert Vaughn, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Bullitt), he’s duped into synthesizing Kryptonite, creating an evil doppelgänger of the Man of Steel who rampages through Smallville in one of the film’s most searched‐for scenes. Meanwhile, Lois Lane (Margot Kidder, The Amityville Horror, Black Christmas) juggles her investigative instincts with her growing suspicions about Superman’s strange new behavior. Rounding out the cast are Annette O’Toole as Ross’s calculating wife Vera Webster (noted for 3:10 to Yuma and later TV’s Superman & Lois), Pamela Stephenson as socialite Lacy Warfield (comedian from Not The Nine O’Clock News), and Jackie Cooper as Daily Planet editor Perry White (the original Pete & Gladys), plus Marc McClure returning as the ever‐awed Jimmy Olsen (Superman, Superman II). Andrew & Tara break down every standout moment—from Gus’s frantic Kryptonite heist in the Arctic and the iconic “Evil Superman” fight in a Glendale parking garage to the hilariously over‐the‐top spoof of technology run amok at Ross’s private plane hangar. Don’t miss their take on the unforgettable sequence where Superman’s alter ego lounges in Smallville’s diner, the cheeky “cloning” of Superman by synthetic Kryptonite, and the climactic rooftop showdown that forces Clark to reclaim his true heroism. we're going to get right into this guys with superman three
all righty folks that was superman three if you were able to watch it here on
youtube it's because the fine folks over at paper they are doing their great just flying
in editing down these highlights and also if you're listening on apple or spotify please give us
five-star ratings, we would appreciate it.
I don't think there's a mid or post-credit scenes.
I think it's too early for that.
But we're just going to watch the credits here roll.
But Tara, how are you feeling?
I'm feeling all right.
I think that the movie was fun.
It had a lot of fun parts, but it did really lag for me.
And I was feeling it as it was lagging.
I was like, ah, I wish it was better because the other ones really got me, like, loving Superman.
and I feel like in these moments in this movie,
it was really, really, like what a fun concept to see Superman get taken over kind of later
with the kryptonite.
He turns bad Superman, like villain is Superman.
That's such a fun idea.
And seeing that was a lot of fun.
And the way that I already called it out in this, meaning the engineering mindset of the fun,
smart things that they did like you know richard prior using his yo yo him using the big thing to make
a slide and then doing other stuff that i thought was really smart all of those were like yay
awesome yeah if they had just paste it properly and taken out a good amount of other stuff it didn't
need to go two hours and five minutes that's all i say i think that this movie could have been a major
a major like a really good hit if they had taken a lot out yeah i don't want to
i mean i i i agree with you and i'm not just agreeing to agree but there were definitely
parts and points where i was like this is really dragging for me as well i will say this too like
i definitely missed having margot kidder in the film i understand why it was it was actually
fun to get a nettoe i thought she did a great job i thought she was a welcome presence i really
miss Gene Hackman. Like, as good of an
actor as Robert Vaughn is, I've only seen him
in a couple of things, and he is a very, or was
a very well-established actor. I just
thought Gene Hackman was such
a much better villain personally, like, just
comparing them in Superman,
but I really did,
even though it, it
was interesting having Richard Pryor
in here. He was great in the movie,
but tonally, it was,
it was,
and it was weird, like,
having him in a Superman film and the way
But I did again, I did like the moral compass and the way the character had an arc.
I thought that actually fit in.
But the comedic beats and style, sometimes it hit for me.
And then other times I was like, this doesn't feel like a Superman movie.
But I'm, you know what?
I will say this.
I always say I like when filmmakers and screenwriters try different things.
Sometimes it works.
Other times it doesn't.
You know, it's, it's, I can appreciate having, having the, the Cajonais.
to take those kinds of risks.
So I respect that, honestly.
And I will say, like, as fun as that opening beat is with, you know, it's, it was extremely
cartoonish.
And it's like whack them all where you got one thing trickling another thing, trickling another
thing over and over.
It was great the way it was shot for sure.
But it kind of just let you in to know what the tone and that we're in for the rest of the
film.
And again, I didn't mind that particular beat.
but I don't uh but I didn't think like in terms of the rest of the film I don't know like tonally it just didn't feel balanced for me like if you're gonna go with that beat it's gotta really feel bad like in a Superman film what we had established in the first two terra yeah I personally preferably would have just rather stayed with the the tone of the first two films that's just how I felt having said that I do like going to that dark place we did go to with bad Superman seeing with there because again I'm not gonna
to spoil it for you in case you ever decide to watch it i don't know if we're ever going to react to
it although i would love to on this channel one day with you or with core the three of us but i don't know
no promises but in smallville that is the red kryptonite effect of where he loses all inhibition
and he's just like drunk with power basically that was fun to see and you can tell christopher
reeves just such a he's got so much uh dynamic and so much range as an actor and he was
again having a great time doing it because we see him as mild manner clark and also the the comparison
in contrast when you see him as Superman like it's totally two different characters and that's why he's
so damn good when he does it and then seeing him as bad Superman drunk Superman with power that was so
much fun to watch but it was dramatic too and there was a lot of tension and suspense when you were
watching him do that as well like what is he going to I don't know what he's going to do the
evilness that can ensue because this man could literally take over the planet if he wanted to if he
has no inhibition it's a scary thought honestly but I thought like again what Christopher Reeve was able to
to do in that moment, like, because he's the man who brings hope and shininess to the world
when he's on the screen and, like, to make me and you, and I assume the rest of the audience
when we're watching that feel scared in the moment, watching him behave this way, and to convey
that in facial expression and then with the attire and everything, I thought he did a great job,
and I'm glad they explored that.
I would have liked even more of that, to be quite honest.
I don't, again, I didn't mind the Richard Pryor stuff, but like you said it, and as I pointed
out earlier, there's just a lot of stuff you could have gotten rid of and just, it just
dragged out for me personally.
I just think that the reason that this film was made is most likely to show the dark
side of Superman.
They should have focused on that, meaning what I think happened, because you said in
interview that Richard Pryor was like, I love Superman, is that the script was already,
maybe previously written with the villain going, uh, how do we kill Superman and take out like
Columbia and then somebody builds a computer and like we got it we got to get rid of Superman because he's ruining my chances to make money but then they added in Richard prior to be like okay he's going to be the one who builds a computer because he needs money and he's going to have to do it because you're going to go to jail otherwise there was just um there's just some holes in there where I'm like I find it very surprising just to me because I think there's so many great and really fun aspects to this movie and really great
effects and practical effects that they played with that I'm like, why didn't someone sit and watch
the whole thing and go, I'm not super worried and or like on the edge of my seat when Superman
is like going to go back to find the computer and save the day versus in all of the other
movies, I was really on the edge of my seat of going, oh my God, it's happening.
it's happening right especially in the last one we're like oh and then you realize he's
turn around time yada yada yada yada you really felt that in the last two and in this one i didn't
get that that excitement where i'm like oh he's gonna go he's got to go save it i was just like
yeah i hope he shows up and gets it done but i i i didn't feel um that strong pull to this movie
as i did in the in the previous film for sure that's a very fair point yeah no i totally agree
with you there and I think that is a very strong uh you know strong contention to make I mean because
when we're in these movies yeah we got Superman on our side as an audience you want to feel that tension
and you want to feel that threat level for Superman because I mean he's the man of steel like you
don't you don't expect him to lose but in the moment you want to feel it so that when he wins it's like
oh my God that was so satisfying to watch versus rather when yeah I never felt that he was threatened
for one moment's like okay cool it was still fun to watch him on screen
but I didn't really ever feel for one second
that he was ever in danger
or that we as an audience
felt that way for him.
So at least in that moment,
the only time I felt danger for him
when he was bad Superman
and like, oh my God,
what's he gonna do here?
And that was good though.
All danger with the bad Superman.
It's more about like when he's going to save the people
like towards the end of the other movies,
it was really exciting.
And in this one I was like,
oh yeah, of course he,
okay he'll get there and like
I don't know I just didn't feel it
I didn't feel it yeah I think
I just want to add to what I was just saying
I think like in the first movie so it's like
is he going to get to lowest in time
what's he going to do here now that she said
it's like I obviously I've seen the movie
but I'm just saying like for the first time when I watched
that movie and then with the second movie like oh my guys
fighting three Kryptonians who are of the same
you know power level as them
what the hell is he going to do here
so I just mean in that in that aspect
in here. Again, I think there's an interesting thing you can do because I think Brainiac is definitely
one of his more fun villains in the comics. I mean, intellectually, like, you can't, it's really
difficult to beat Brainiac. And I think that's kind of what we were going for here. So there is a lot
that can be said. And I do like the idea of using technology as a theme here. Like, you know, if you
give a computer or technology too much power, it can turn on you. I think that was an interesting
aspect of the film but you know what I mean I don't know I just don't think it was that I don't think
it was executed in the best way in this film personally but you know again yeah if you felt that way
great but I just think it could have been done better but again the things I still love I love
Christopher Reeve I thought annetto too was a really she was very welcoming and I enjoyed her performance
I thought she had really good chemistry with Christopher it was nice thing to go back to smallville
besides me being a smallville fanatic and all that
that was nice to go back to his roots and all that.
I really did like Richard Pryor.
He was a lot of fun.
I just don't know how much it fit in with the rest of the film.
But his arc was actually nice.
I did appreciate that, him having the moral compass.
I thought that other actress was really good, the blonde woman.
She was fun.
It was, I don't know if it fit in with the movie per se,
but it was fun to watch her perform,
like to actually see the performance per se.
But aside from that, yeah, I mean, it dragged the times.
and I would definitely put it below a lot, a little bit below or a lot below the, the original two,
because the original two were fantastic, in my opinion.
I liked all the actors.
All the actors in this, like they do a great job.
And this is why when you look at a movie, a lot of it has to do a direction.
The director goes to the actors.
They tell him, right, they give them notes.
But then the director also goes into the editing room to help make cuts.
I don't know what's going on.
with this director.
Apparently he's done the rest of them, right?
No, he didn't do the fourth one, I believe, was Sydney, J. Fury.
So he hasn't done it anymore after this?
No.
Oh, all right.
Not to say, that makes you feel a lot better.
I don't think this Superman movie was his A-game.
He's helping, making choices in the editing room.
And I do think that if you were to see this movie and it had really proper pacing,
that all of those comedic moments,
including Richard Pryor, with also the blonde girl being like, I'm like the dumb one.
Like when her boyfriend, husband, whatever walks in and she's like, plays dumb, but she's actually legitimately smart.
That's a really fun, like, character thing to play with.
They just didn't have enough time because there's so many moving pieces in here where it's like we're really mainly focusing on Richard Pryor.
They have to save their business.
So all four of them are villains now.
and Superman is trying to get to know his high school sweetheart with the kid.
There's a lot of moving parts in this script.
And overall, I think that maybe they could have absolutely made it work.
But it does come down to the direction of the film and the producers making the overall call.
So it doesn't really come down to the actors because with me even saying,
oh, I don't really love this film.
All the actors are great.
Good job.
For sure.
And it also comes down to as well that the messaging that the film was trying to get across,
which is greed is not good as a little opposite to what Gordon Gecko would say,
which I understand.
Yeah.
I don't know if it was executed.
It's so great.
Well, we got some patron questions.
Yeah.
Yeah.
If you're thinking about joining Patreon, this is a way to get us to interact with you and
answer your question.
So we'll start off.
Who do we got first?
Do you want to answer the first one?
We got Flying Scotsman 4702 says for Superman 3.
What's your favorite aspect about the character or about Christopher Reeve that brings
the life that brings life to the character? Is it his charm, charisma, personality, etc? What do you think?
I just, I love everything that. Well, in terms of the character, I just, I love the hopefulness that he
brings, like no matter what, like, and he inspires goodness and others. And also, too, with all this power,
like I said, he could literally take over the planet if he wanted to. And instead, he decides to inspire
others. In regards to Christopher Reeve, he is this role. And he plays both roles.
so perfectly.
And I know my biggest complaint when I was growing up,
how does nobody recognize that Clark Kent is not Superman?
He's just wearing glasses.
It's because Christopher Reeve does such an effective job
playing that mild-mannered nerdy Clark Kent
and also playing Superman, like so, so brave and so stoic,
that you would never think that Clark Kent is Superman.
He just embodies the role.
He is Superman.
He made you believe a man could fly.
That's how I feel.
How do you feel, Tara?
Yeah, I think it's like he does a really good job
of playing dual person.
right of him playing um clark kent versus superman there's not anybody that i think you know during this
time i'm not sure would play it as greatly as him you do have to have a lot of vulnerability to play
the clark kent side and then you also have to be able to walk into a room as a person that believes
you are a superhero right you have to be able to play both and also make it come across
on screen that both are very believable.
And that tends to be more rare, I think, with more actors.
So I think Christopher Reeve and his personality to take both sides of the role
and have them shine on screen specifically to where they are both very believable
and also both very grounded.
Superman is not necessarily a grounded character.
But Christopher Reeve does a lot of, does a really good job of making it feel grounded
and very real, even with him flying in the sky, right?
And then the same with him with the Clark Kent.
He's very, he does a good job of sure, bringing in the nerdy effects of him going like,
oh, you know, excuse me, like he's very like sort of a guy who's inside of a shell
and doesn't ought to come out, which is really, really, it's a lot of fun.
So, you know, I give a lot of credit to Christopher Reeves being able to, you know,
give 100% to both characters.
Absolutely. Good points.
Apologies, by the way, if I mispronounce any names or we or either of us do.
Next one is from Powell Keksmart Merrick.
Does that sound right?
Yeah, that sounds right.
I have not seen Superman 3 in ages, as of not I until today.
But does it really feel to you both as though it's actually Richard Pryor's film and Superman is almost a supporting character?
I mean, I'll let you go first, actually.
Yes, absolutely.
Because that's what I said.
It was funny when he was like, oh, I had an interview and I'm like, ah, that's the producer,
probably saw it.
And they're like, Richard Pryor, he's big during this time.
Let's find a way to bring him in.
And I don't know if the script was already written, but when you have a huge star in during
this time, you're going to give Richard Pryor as much time as you want because, like,
it's going to sell tickets, maybe bring in an audience that Superman normally would not have, right?
You look at Richard Pryor audience, audience and demographic that he's bringing in versus Superman on
own can still bring it a lot. Combining the two, money, money, money, right? So if you're thinking
as a producer and a director, for sure, overall, I do think the film in the cutbacks and with
Richard Pryor overall, they were more focusing on him. There's a big chunk of time. And that's
why I said, I think this movie could have been an hour and a half and it would have been better,
that they could have cut out where I'm like, Richard Pryor should have been a smaller role along
with the villains. And maybe it's about 50-50. Superman versus the villains. It wasn't like that.
in this film. Yeah, and you can still, and I agree
with this and with you, I mean,
the first scene is Richard Pryor setting up
that character of Gus. And you could
have still had him be a smaller role,
still be very pertinent to the plot
and still have his arc and all that
and still get people like
coming in to see Richard Pryor
in a Superman in a Superman film.
So, but I do feel like, yeah,
the character of Superman
was sacrificed a lot for Richard
Pryor for Gus in this film.
And again, I do like Gus in this film.
And I like, as I mentioned earlier, his, his arc, but the film is called Superman.
So I think, like, the film should really focus strongly most on Superman.
I don't mind, like, again, supporting characters getting their due.
But I don't think Superman should ever personally be a supporting character in his own film.
But that being said, I still loved Richard Pryor in the film.
He was a lot of fun.
And, yeah.
He was fun.
I think they just could have found a different opportunity for him to make him, like, really shine.
because to me it's like this movie a little bit in what you're asking.
You probably feel it was also a Richard Pryor film and not a Superman thing,
which means the overall brand didn't really do its job fully, but it's fine.
Reject Nation, the basketball playoffs are heating up.
And if you want to turn your takes into something real,
you've got to check out prize picks.
Our go-to in the Daily Fantasy Sports World.
If you've never tried it, here's how it works.
It's relatively simple.
You pick two to six players, and you get it.
whether or not they'll get more or less than the stat line price picks sets.
This week I'm looking at the basketball board and selecting Donovan Mitchell for more than 26 points,
Jason Tatum for more than nine rebounds, Nikola Yoakicch for more than 25 points,
and Anthony Edwards for more than four assists.
Basketball terminology.
It's that simple.
If your picks hit, you win.
Even my dumb noggin can keep up with that.
And the more picks that you string together, the more money you can make,
up to 1,000 times your entry.
And what's cool is, it's not just basketball.
You can mix and match players across different sports like baseball, football, hockey, even esports.
It's like building your own custom bet.
It's all based on player stats and you're in full control.
Plus, they invented something called FlexPlay, which means even if one of your picks misses, you can still win cash.
And payouts are super fast.
I've seen it hit in under 15 minutes.
So here's what you can do.
You can download the app today and use code Rejects to get $50 instantly after you play your first $5 lineup.
Again, that's code Rejects, $50 instantly after your first $5.00 line up.
Again, that's code rejects, $50 instantly after your first $5 lineup.
Prize picks, run your game.
All right.
Third question, last question from Attack.
Superman 3 React.
Do you have any plans to react to Supergirl, 1984, in this series?
As I know, it was a release between Superman 3 and 4.
We'd love to see it, is what attack said.
I'll tell you this.
That is not a decision between Tara and myself.
That is a Greg and John decision.
But we can ask them.
We can ask them.
As of now, it's not on the schedule for us.
We're just going through all the supermans and they're all pretty,
they're timed out to be released with the newest Superman that's coming out.
So we'll have to see if we're able to delay.
If not, what I would say is that we may be able to do that as like a one-off after we finish through all the supermans.
We'll see.
I'll say this.
I've never seen the film.
I might have just mentioned that.
I haven't seen it.
I will tell you this.
I do know who the director of the film was.
It was Janet Zawork, who also directed Jaws, too.
I think he also did a film with Christopher Reeve.
It was not Superman-related.
I also directed a bunch of Smallville episodes as well.
So, I mean, yeah, I'd be down to see it.
If we're going to react to it, that would be a fun experience.
Just he's, you know, Superman's cousin.
So I think that'd be cool.
And she's supposed to be coming on in the new series or in the James Gunner and have her own film.
So I think that'd be cool to, if we don't, if we don't get to it in time,
for like these reactions definitely in preparation for the new supergirl film that's supposed to come
out in either a year or two i don't remember the release date oh that's probably when we watch it then i think
we would at minimum do it for that maybe possibly we shall see but i'd be down to do it just because i've
never seen it for sure like i guess just in my closing thoughts i i liked this movie i wanted to
love it i really liked the first two this one was a bit of a letdown with the pacing i think they
could have cut a lot out and it would have been a lot better.
But overall, everyone did a great job and the story of Superman turning bad is a great
one to see.
Yeah.
This is really a script that you give to Christopher Reed and he's like, oh, I get to be an actor,
actor in this because he gets to play.
That's like all of our dreams and you're like, oh, if you're stuck to this character,
but now he gets to play the dark side.
Everyone wants to play that dark side in the character, and we were able to show that, especially for Christopher Reeve, it's like, oh, he can go there. Of course he can. He's a great actor. But for him to be able to provide that on screen was probably really like he was probably very grateful for that. But overall, I wish that that, him showing that was made into a better film.
Yeah, I agree with everything you just said. Christopher Reeve was still by far my favorite part of the film. I really enjoyed the addition of Richard.
prior he was a lot of fun and he his comedic timing was great again there were parts i just didn't feel
tonely at work but again the tone of the film i just didn't feel totally worked with superman is what
i'm trying to say but uh really quick i just curious what you feel what did you think this film
got in run tomatoes critics really quick okay critics i'm gonna go with 59 i know that's low
but let's see it might be 61 audience i'm gonna go with
80%.
Critics was 29%.
Audience was 23%.
Yeah.
Okay.
We're on the same page.
I always try to like root high because I don't know if people are sitting there going like, oh, all I really want to see is Superman fly and I just want to see him do his regular stuff.
But overall, you guys are on the side that I'm on.
It's not great.
Could have been better.
Yeah, for sure.
Anyways, normally we'd go probably into some trivia right now.
We got another shoot to do here.
so we're a little bit out of time,
but you let us know in the comments,
what are some fun trivia facts
that we could have written to you,
or read now to you rather.
And where would you put this in,
in terms of the Christopher Reeves films,
where would you put this on one, two, three, or four?
We'd love to know.
Also, don't forget to like, subscribe,
share the video.
Most importantly, don't.
Ring the bell.
That way you're known.
That way you're not.
It's shop.com.
Get your year.
Well, yeah, not this one,
but this is still a cool shirt.
But, yes, that way you're also,
you're notified.
Whenever we drop videos such as these,
we will be coming out with
Superman for the quest for or is it a quest for piece?
I don't remember, whichever one it is.
The one that came out in 1987,
we will be doing that reaction very soon
and we'll be dropping most likely a week from today.

You royal rejects here.
I can't wait to go to.
To my first ever pride month parade.
Oh, it's going to be fun.
Never been.
It's going to be joyous.
I'm excited.
We all going to.
Oh, my God.
Here's the first person showing up.
Alan Smithy.
Alan Smithy, my favorite director.
He's wearing clamps on his nipples right now.
Yes, of course.
Damn, this gay stuff is gay.
Got to get nipped up.
Love it.
Ron Beek, the third, is also here with three guys on leashes.
That's what I'm talking about.
That are his faithful concubines.
Ryan McKenna is they are in a suit because not everyone is a stereotype.
That's true.
And speaking of not being a stereotype, Lever-Hawkins is wearing a costume.
It's a cosplay of Lever's favorite LGBTQ-plus character,
which would inevitably be gay Perry for.
from Kiss, Kiss, Kiss, Bing.
Love to hear it.
And Valerie Fisher is showing up
cosplaying as Richard Simmons.
Oh, goody.
Workout expertise.
You love, I love Richard Simmons.
Rest in peace, Richard Simmons.
Michael Russell is out here
dressed as Michael Myers,
but with a rainbow mask.
So, you know, and it's not just the Babaduke anymore.
Ryan C is there wearing a shirt that says
Ask me what the C stands for
Hey look out now
Rolo or
Ryo is handing out Rolos to people
Because you got to have a little bit of a snack
If you're going to be out in the sun all day
Oh very true
Scott Schley is there
Handing out copies of season
Four of Will and Grace to people
Yes of course
And Dan Victoria is carrying around a TV playing episode three of season one of The Last of Us on repeat.
Oh, that's what I'm talking about.
That's a pretty quality episode of, you know, queer cinema.
Fly Pan Am, oh, looks great.
Dressed as a pilot, but with ripped off sleeves.
And so as bulging biceps are there, mustache and all.
Morgan Cobb is working a food cart selling corn on the cob with the seasonings and the
spices and it's a phallic-shaped food so that fits into this scenario uh alissa goodwin is they're
wondering where her children are because she lost them in the crowd and she's like oh no i'm afraid
i'm afraid but then a hunky gay guy or straight guy there's your support anybody's there
everybody's welcome.
To be continued.
To be continued.
Your saga will continue after Heather Petrullo shows up with singing songs from the musical version of Heather's, you know, which was certainly received as well as the movie, Heather's.
The next person on our list is named Horse Meat Ding Dong.
I don't think we need to contribute anything more.
Thank you for presenting horse meat ding-dong.
Mace Blair is handing out Mace to people because, you know, you also got to be safe out there.
You know, every community has its bad actors.
And, you know, every, you know, display of pride has people trying to tear it down.
So, you know, got to stay protected out here.
Speaking of safe, Justin Kaznavi is handing out birth control to all of the L.
and the LGBT
All to the lesbian
Making sure the lesbians are not getting pregnant
During their fun time
Mm-hmm
Absolutely
Swave Master
42 is here
Celebrating their 42nd
Birthday day
That happens to coincide
With Pride
And I mean like a birthday
Multipide by
Multiplied by a Pride
Festival
It's not going to be a birthday
They can live up to that ever again
So enjoy it
Oh great to hear
Snarled
Asp is
just really
going to town on this banana
right now. He brought up
eight bananas and he has
really taken his
time. Absolutely. Eating them
as you're supposed to. Boing
84 is
hopping around on a
pogo stick because you know
we got people on skates we got people
on a pogo stick now. Why not? It's a
fun place to be. Yeah
yeah. Daniel
Rivera came surfing in on a rainbow no managed to pull it off real rainbow and all heck
yeah with a unicorn um could have saved that for another one because I'm running out of
writing the line here Shannon Darbon it's okay Shannon Darban brought a bunch of
Blu-ray copies of the L word to distribute to people underrated a queer series and a
seminal one at that thanks for spreading the word Elaine DeLoll
Um, brought, uh, J.K. Rowling's head.
Oh, my.
The battle.
It's not real.
The battle.
It's a real one.
All right.
It's a paper machine one.
It's a Kathy Griffin one that you did on Trump.
Oh, like, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
That because that went over great and it knows to do the same thing.
You want to replicate.
Yeah.
And, uh, and, uh, Huventino, Salas is out here with, uh, salad.
oh my god um because it's a nice way to refuel your body while also being able to stay fit not
everyone's fit out here but i feel like there's an emphasis on staying fit uh yes you're gonna be out here
displaying yourself you know amongst the people cyrus sulca is dressed as mildly cyrus and performing
all her greatest hits but he has a baritone voice oh no Aaron is here though to back him up with
the tenor because Aaron's hitting them high notes.
Also got a righteous-ass beard, which is a part of the cast system that is available to you in this lifestyle.
It could be someone's beard, and that's an important job, you know, especially if someone's not ready to come out yet.
Dylan Jagger is there bringing his conservative parents who have now open up their hearts.
All good.
We love to see it.
Because they were never actually homophobic
because not all conservatives are homophobic.
That is the message.
And Nathan Meyer brought a prolific romance writer Nancy Meyer
to speak at the parade
and, you know, to be the keynote guest.
And, hey, wouldn't have been able to get them here without you.
So thanks for doing your job today.
Well, Lane Papp is going around giving people PAP smears.
Waiting for that because...
No, then take two.
Reproductive health is good.
Lane Papp is going around telling people to stay in their lane.
Oh, goody.
That they're pushing their agendas here.
Good, good, good, good, good.
This parade that he's known about for his entire life.
Yeah, Lane.
What gives?
Yeah.
Speaking of what gives, Jackson Ryan gives free hugs with the free hugs,
with the free hugs sign.
can't have a parade or convention without one and hey sometimes people need the hug lift them back up after a long day on their feet uh luke schneur um is bringing you you know posters of homelander from the boys sure why not and uh doesn't have to be a gay thing no no there's no gay things in the boys and always have just like their whole identity at the parade that not everyone's
They're just like all they do is talking about being gay or being sexual.
Some people there must be asexual.
They just want to flaunt Homelander.
That's a place, yeah.
This is a place to bring out your homeander wears.
And speaking of, you know, flaunting some of your stuff, you know,
Annie brought every John Waters film to be screened in a marathon at this parade.
Wow.
It's going to be crazy.
Pretty nuts.
Love those.
Anthony Donato, carrying over the theme from Luke,
brought a popcorn bucket
and keeps encouraging people to reach inside.
Heck, yeah, they do.
I love to hear that.
Adrian is out here in a speedo
and nothing else
and is doing a little shimmy
and a little jiggly
and is dancing the night away
and we love to see that.
Stardust and madness is there
just sprinkling little pixie-dye
dusts all over everyone.
Matthew Arms is oiling up everyone's arms with baby oil so we can all be slick and shiny.
Ah, Kevin Meek is bouncing his Kevin butt cheeks in public on a floaty.
That's what we like to see.
Zen science is leading a meditation because, hey, mindfulness is valid in every community.
Very gay.
And it's a very gay art.
Very gay thing.
In fact, they say the first meditators in this world,
we're gay yeah my mom taught me that if she catches me meditating she's concerned
are gay um Heather gear is they and she's she is uh driving a floaty
that is uh the shape of a of a former blockbuster oh fun everyone loves old video stores
Usually it's what you see every June, West Hollywood.
And a lot of blockbuster nostalgia, very popular in the LGBTQ community.
Definitely is.
And, you know, Kayla the King is here handing out those blue blockbuster t-shirts that the employees used to wear.
But the little blockbuster ticket is a rainbow.
Chase Wagner is there.
He's time traveled from the 50s and is a private investigator.
and he is not understanding the time
he is living in right now
and what he is looking at.
That's mine's melting down.
Juan Longoria is leading a panel
about desperate housewives.
That is a very popular show
and Ava Longoria shares your last name.
So even though you're not related,
the people who organize the festival
were like, you, you should moderate this.
And here you are.
Cliff Rodriguez is,
is there and he brought his priest.
Read into that.
Love to hear it.
Is it a good thing or a bad thing?
It's a good thing always.
It's a good thing because the priest is not doing something creepy, you perverts.
Just because it's a pride parade doesn't mean it's something creepy going down.
That priest is there to try to convert people to stop doing what they're doing.
All right?
Yep.
He's not touching cliff.
He's not doing anything.
a cliff overtly lascivy is
trying to tell people. He's just discouraging a whole
community of people's lifestyle. He's just trying to get them
stopping. There's usually one who's waiting
to come out at that at that party, but
we know why the priest is like this because
you know, he's gotten into, anyway,
please, let's move on. Let's not make this priest
like too about it. Ogarly ambitious is
out here doing
a jello wrestling match in
green jello. creepy as shit.
Looking like Shrek.
You said overly ambitious. Well, Lorenzo
Baxter is watching this video going, why has no one acknowledged why the friend's poster is
missing and is hanging off the wall right now?
Because we want one that says lovers.
Lorenzo Baxter, always astute.
That's right.
You're an observant cat, and you know who else is an observant cat, is simply faded, who is
getting faded on one of those bicycle, you know, it's like 10 people were on a moving thing
and they're all pedaling, but they're also drinking a beer, like one of those party
bikes yeah that's what simply fate is doing all day it's five o'clock somewhere baby s j94 is really caught up
in a lot of conversations while people are trying to have fun but it's doing whatever s j94 can do
to really get people to see how the matrix films are a trans allegory they you know this is a
convincing argument to that uh and uh justin martin speaking of which is dressed in head to
tow PVC leather spandex.
Oh, I love to see it.
All black, all shiny, gimped up, ready to go.
Philip J. Smith Jr. is there doing his artistic trailer cover of its reigning men.
Oh, love to hear that.
Slowed down and made somber.
Marjorie is participating in a Rupal Drag Race Honorary winner, You are.
Crazy stuff.
Jen Smith.
Jen.
What I tell you what Jen Smith's doing.
Jen Smith is writing an article to help promote and showcase a wonderful side of Los Angeles, which is the Pride Parades.
That is, it's his indeed.
Celebrate the community.
And speaking of celebrating the community, Ronson, S.G. is out here waving a giant banner that reads,
Some gays, because there are some gays present at this parade.
But there are also, you know, some bisexual people, some pansexual people, some trans people, some asexual people, some non-binary folks.
Taiwanese people.
Taiwanese people, German people.
I used to think LGBT did for Lithuanian, Georgian, Bahrainian, Bahrainian.
uh taiwanese that's how i got there yeah and the queue of course um stands for um quincy quincy jones's
property yeah that's what i thought yeah that's one of the protected countries under the
lgbt i really uh i had a completely misunderstanding and growing up but hey listen i feel like
this really shows that we are not virtue signaling okay yep i don't i think it really
really shows how smart we are, the shoutout, how in, how in touch we are.
That's right, definitely.
And how adept we are at navigating, you know, tricky social constructs.
Oh, totally.
You know, we managed to be just specific enough while also being vague enough so as not to be offensive, but, you know, not too specific as to really say something pointed.
Yeah, and I think we did a really good job at, like, making a satirical version of pointing out, like, stereotypes, instead of just doing the stereotypes.
We are providing a service to the whole community.
I'm pretty sure this is what the gay community needs.
This is what the LGBT community needs right now.
Yeah.
Is this round of shoutouts?
That's the reason this is the theme is they called us up, and they were like, hey, can you please do us a solid?
Yeah.
When you see two men in heterosexual relationships, ready to solve your problems, this is the shout-out.
This is straight solutions.
You guys won this with a, you're welcome.
