let's do it all right let's roo
you watch technically fast and furious three fast and furious Tokyo drift if you
listen to this on apple or spotify going to give us five stars
so you can be in the full experience of Fast and Furious with us.
Tara?
Yes.
What did you think of Fast and Furious, Tokyo Drives?
I mean, I thought it was fun.
I really like the lead guy.
I don't know his name as an actor.
I enjoy him.
I liked how they focused, you know, more on racing.
I think the most excited I was, though, at the end when I saw Vin Diesel.
There's just something about Vin Diesel in this franchise that I love.
There wasn't as much love that I had for the characters in this movie.
Like one and two, they really, like, grew on me.
And I think that there was obviously, as we brought up, there's some holes in the story here.
Like, they really just didn't set up a good foundation between him and his dad.
So when his dad goes, at least you're not making the mistakes I made.
We should, I would have wanted, I think that moment would have hit more.
if they had worked on the car together,
if they had discussed something more in depth.
We don't need to spend 10 minutes on it,
but even just give us five.
Same thing with his friend, his hustler friend,
like give us a little bit more of a foundation with them.
So when his friend gives him the money and is like,
hey, don't worry about it, I'll figure it out,
that that would be a good callback to maybe our lead guy
gives him something and says,
don't worry about it, I'll figure it out.
Like that would have been a good callback line, right?
we didn't have any of that in this script.
I think it needed more of that.
Not that these movies are made to have like a bunch of heart in them.
But the first one, I felt like there was more in that, right?
I really felt that way.
In this one, it was, we're definitely more concerned with like, let's make an action movie that it's kind of like the mafia in Japan and they race cars and what else do they do and like fighting against that.
and he's the new guy in town and how does he win the girl through getting good at drifting, I guess.
So there's some issues with it, but I still think it's a fun movie to watch.
I still like the racing.
This is by no means me saying like, like, I didn't like the movie.
I still like it.
I'm just, I'm here to point out the stuff that I think there was a way to make this.
I think it could make it a really good movie.
And there's some points that they missed, but it was still a fun ride.
Yeah, yeah, I thought it was a fun ride.
I thought the movie is okay.
I think it's the weakest of the three so far.
But I do think there's joy to be had in the movie.
I think it has this lively energy to it that makes it entertaining.
I think the racing, for the most part, is really good in it.
And, yeah, just getting to live in the environment that is Tokyo in Japan.
That being said, though, I do feel like on the writing side of things, the characters are a little weaker as far as,
as you know getting us behind their motivations i feel like this movie didn't really have that
that heart that the first two kind of did i feel like the first one really is really
strong in its heart i think the second one's really strong in its action and it's its comedy
whereas this one it's just i don't know i feel like some of the the hyper editing and some of that
hyper energy took away from the essence of the story in and of itself but also i i had the
hard time suspending my disbelief that these were supposed to be high school kids because
I feel like having that lost family element and it actually being kids that look like kids
really elevates that even if it's just a presentational thing with having younger actors but
um I think that you know if this movie like try to do certain things that that worked
like conceptually the idea of a guy taking like this kid who's
kind of a loner under his wing and i really wish we would have gotten to bond with more of the
characters because you said that the one girl from uh rush hour three was in it but i don't know if
she even had any lines but she seemed to be part of their crew she was and she was in most group
scene she was there no lines really she had one in the school it sucks because i liked bow wow's
acting i thought he was he was a fun character i didn't find him particularly funny and i didn't
really like root for um what's the main dude's name i don't know i just that's the thing i know hon
and i know twinkie because that is a terrible name for character and the the villain but i can't
remember the main guy's name which is unfortunate um because i thought he was he was fine he was like
a serviceable like entry point into the story but i don't feel like they gave him like much as far
as like character and motivation he just wanted to find a family he's a guy on the run
And he wanted to race, and he wanted a girl.
And the girl, she liked him off the bat.
And I don't know.
It just didn't really, like, have that thing for me.
But I will say the racing was exhilarating.
It was cool seeing awesome, eccentric cars.
Like, the fact that he had a Hulk car was really cool.
I don't think I've ever seen that in a movie before.
And, yeah, I just felt like they really wanted to pump an energy into this movie,
by having it be like hyper-edited
and having it be all about
the environments and scenes and having it
have like a needle drop every two seconds, you know?
But I feel like all of the flash of the movie
took away from the substance of the movie.
But, you know, I don't hate this movie.
I wasn't necessarily bored by the movie.
I just was like, I experienced it.
I had some fun.
Got to see some cool races.
And it gets me excited for the next one
because, you know, the characters that we do really like
and do really get to know and feel for our returning seemingly.
And I love the little clue in the buildup
into showing that it was Dom Vind Diesel.
Because like he said, Han was like family.
You know, like family's really big to him.
And then we see the muscle car.
And then we pan up to see Vin Diesel's face.
I thought all of that was clever.
That was fun.
And it made me excited to see wherever the character goes next.
Reject Nation interrupting this video to tell you

Thank you for sponsoring this video.
Yeah.
I also find it.
odd. The one thing that I found, yeah, extra odd, is that in the beginning when those kids are getting beat up and he looks at them and he walks away. And then what that moment in a script would be there for is to show us he has an issue with that. And then at the end where he starts beating up that guy, we're supposed to see like some sort of growth where now he has a confidence to help somebody out kind of a way.
and we didn't really get that
it was just a weird moment that made me
I was like why did they show us that
like you're seeing kids kind of bully another kid
I thought that it would have been
better although this isn't like a kung fu movie
it would have just been better if he would have saved the kid
like I was like why did we write that in there
why did they show us that
and then later he does beat people up
like he gets there and he's like okay I can do this
they might have meant it to be okay i care about my friend and now we're here at school so i'm
gonna like help him um i get that they're they're trying to show us growth and that if there's
someone there that he cares about then he will stick up for them i guess um yeah that that was
another thing that i thought was odd it's just weird to me that um there would be producers and
probably a screening and people there that wouldn't maybe they did give notes and they're like
hey, we're out of time.
We can't, like, reshoot this.
But those are my thoughts on this.
I am very excited for the next one.
And I still am a big fan of the franchise.
I still think it's loads of fun.
I like watching people race cars.
It's a good time.
It's a great time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Go get your Reject Nation Shop sweater.
Don't forget.
Please, please, please.
Great for the holidays.
Do we want to do facts?
Or do what you're doing?
Well, the reason I didn't look up.
trivia because I don't want to be spoiled for the next one and I know they might give us the
plot for the next one so if I'm in a franchise I try to avoid the trivia till the end that's
probably smart yeah smart okay then I think that's it for us guys yeah had a good time with this
movie let us know your favorite fast and furious movie let us know what you think about this movie
yeah and yeah until next time we love you
Everett Pixel Mike Baker.
You know who I'd want to go drifting with in the streets of Tokyo?
Oh, Everett Pixel, my baker.
Because nothing would be more of a fun challenge than watching him try to bake something for me in the passenger seat and just in the middle of it.
Drifting.
Yeah, you better watch all those powders, you know, the flour, the sugar, the eggs.
And then every time he messes up, I break here.
You, son of a bitch, this car costs so much money.
Now, start over.
Cook me fresh cookies.
We're in the middle of a race, and I can't even see now out of my windshield because it's covered in frost.
Yeah, and I can't windshield wipe it off because it's on the inside.
No, but I can drift it all.
That's true.
Use the force of gravity to get it all just slide to the outside.
We're drifting.
That's right.
Drifting can solve a lot of problems.
Oh, yeah, man.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
And then we could also listen to tunes from a little bow-wow the whole time because he's in it.
Don't forget that.
Little bow-wows in it.
He's a star.
Oh, he is.
Like Mike, he is.
Like Mike.
He's a, make me like Mike.
Massive star.
And every pixel, Mike, you've been on us for a long time.
I don't need a check.
I can just do the math right here.
Hmm.
It's about like 33 months.
About?
Which would be about two years and nine months.
that's math
that's not right
I'll just trust your judgment so that's a very long time
in cat years that's like 10 years
so you're an ancient cat
you are you've been here for almost a decade at this point
so thank you so much everett for supporting us
this entire time never leaving us
you must really like us and you never really talk
with us that's kind of wild really like us
anyway Merry Christmas
and you know
Throw some candy at some people.
Stay drifting.
Say drifting.
