Starting point is 00:00:00 Here we go. Someone's already claiming this is our year. Someone else said that last year too. A round of Jameson, Ginger, and Lime arrives at a table. Smooth enough for kickoff, smooth enough for extra time. New friends pulling up a stool. Debates about whether that was a handball.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Cheers rising like a roar around the room. Because match days are about the shared moments. How did Jameson to your match day lineup? Jameson, it's what you bring. Please enjoy our products responsibly. name is Peter Parker, but I'm also Spider-Man. This July, we're faced
Starting point is 00:00:36 with a threat. That can be anyone. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker. I'm just a neighbor, friendly neighbor. But he hasn't forgotten them. Sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard thing. That's my responsibility. Talk to Banner? I didn't know you could get that big.

Starting point is 00:01:22 I'm ready to rock and roll. Let's do this. Have a good time watching Mortal Kombat. Will you announce to go into the Fury? Yes! Damn, what an experience. Oh What an experience Absolutely
Starting point is 00:01:37 That was an experience So visceral and intense So I got like 15 minutes max And I got to watch my next thing Yeah that's all right Is that cool? That's totally fine
Starting point is 00:01:49 I know we have so much story To break down So much character detail Absolutely of course This is a big spoiler review But damn Guys We just watch the Furious
Starting point is 00:02:03 and I'm glad we did. I've been fortunate the week of filming this. I've been fortunate to watch some good movies this week. Hell yeah. And boy, what a film. One for the memory books, that's for sure. Definitely. If you would like to support the channel a little bit extra
Starting point is 00:02:19 because we are in an age of copyright claim nonsense and even got a couple of copyright strikes at a moment of talking about this. So Patreon, where you can do the full reaction watch along, or you sync up with your own copy? Like we have, I own this now in perpetuity for as long. It's not physical media. So the day they take it off Prime Video, I don't own it anymore. There you, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:42 But I own it technically right now. Yep. And you got into or rent it and sync over with your own copy. Watch the whole thing beginning to end with John and I. Also, you can go to rechecknationshop.com. We yourself some apparel. And you get 15% off if you're a patron. There we go.
Starting point is 00:02:58 I don't know if any questions. Usually our patrons get access to our shooting schedule for some of the Let's see if any questions. Okay. Okay, so you know what? You have a few. Yeah. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:03:12 So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so. Yes. So, my man, L.J. You, have you seen the night? What are Joe Taslin's biggest one? Oh, the night comes for us or something? Yeah, have you seen that one? I think I've seen that.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Yeah, that's exactly what it's called. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's a good one. Yeah, that is good. Um, and, but so yes, you're, you're somewhat familiar. What would you think about this movie, dude? What'd you, would you, did it deliver on expectations? I, honestly, I think it exceeded expectations.
Starting point is 00:03:44 I, I, I just assumed it was just like this crazy action movie that was going to be just filled with crazy fight scenes and, you know, the Asian productions, they go a little all out. They don't hold back. But it's a very emotional story and, like, there's some depth to it because it's just a father and daughter. and then a man trying to find his wife. And that, as simple as that was, got me invested. So every physical encounter, every fight meant a lot, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:13 I was very concerned about their safety and so on and so forth. But yeah, I love this movie. And again, like you said, again, a very simple story. But that's all you need for something like this. So I enjoyed myself the fight choreography and the camera work. Oh, my gosh. Goes without mentioning. Like, oh, my, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, and all the, all the, all the praise goes to, like, the stunt coordinating and the, um, stunt team at, you know, obviously expected with something like a movie like this. And, uh, yeah, uh, fun. I got a little emotional. Like, my emotions were moved because it's like, these kids, man, like, this is a real issue in real life. And so to, to have badass men who just want redemption to, like, be kind of the saviors of this issue is so.
Starting point is 00:05:01 like satisfying emotionally. So, but yeah, I enjoyed myself. How about you, man? How'd you like it? That was a blast. Absolutely. Yeah, yeah. Glad it makes all Filipinos look terrible.
Starting point is 00:05:11 I know. I know. That's so true. Except for a couple of good ones. Yeah, the little, the people in the neighborhood. People in the neighborhood. Yeah. Front-ass guy.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Yes, yeah. Who's like the movie hated for some reason towards the end. And they just like, you know, we got to come his arm up. He got to go to town on it. Everyone else is a arrow to the head. Yeah. You got to like fucking slice and d. dice and chop his arm off
Starting point is 00:05:33 and he's got to go to town with an arrow on his head hell with this guy yeah that it was it was surprised because I showed up for Joe Taslin is like the main hook and I was really surprised by I've only seen like the popular
Starting point is 00:05:49 things he's in I haven't seen the show actually Warrior I mainly seem like just the popular movies that everyone pretty much knows I haven't like gone out of the wheelhouse of that but in those he's usually like just brooding serious potentially probably bad guy or if he's a protagonist, he's just like aggressive, serious
Starting point is 00:06:05 dude. Yeah. It was kind of cool to see him be like, the relatable guy, the husband, the cop, who grows into the state of like embodying the fury by the end when it comes to revenge. This movie has like an escalation. Like it's all about the viscerality. It's all about the
Starting point is 00:06:21 aggression. It's all about like the ferocity and the velocity of the ferocity. Is it like escalates and do this crescendo of just like priming. will rage and chaos and it earns it because for a movie like this my my concern was that it would be like awesome in the first 30 minutes oh sure yeah and then you're like all right i've seen yeah yes yes yes i'm kind of used to it now and now it's just kind of numbing and uh it's it's a lot of noise now that's huge even though i heard it's great yeah especially on our end of like when we're doing a reaction
Starting point is 00:06:56 the last thing i wanted to just be here quiet absorbing it you know and i was like i was so surprised by how They had so much versatility throughout. I think they were aware of that. Yeah. People could get used to this. So we have to provide versatility. We have to have just enough heart to have you invested. We have to have.
Starting point is 00:07:14 I think it's like paced so well because it's one of those movies that you show up for the action. But if it's only just action, you're going to be bored. And then it's also and then the action's not going to be entertaining because these scenes that are not action have to be reasonably engaging. and they have to be reasonably entertaining. You have to be a little connected. And I like how they did like just enough. You know, like what I think the chemistry between, I think, well, Wang Wei. Wang Wei, the father.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Yeah, between Wang Wei and. Navi. Yeah, Joe Tassel. And Navi. I thought it was really good. Yes. I love their scenes together. And yeah, just perusing the guy plays, he's been around.
Starting point is 00:07:55 He's a fucking legend, apparently. He's been around for, forever. He's been around the 90s. and I'm like, I don't know his work, honestly. But yeah, he's a legend. And watching, so I imagine that, like, them fighting each other at first was like, that must be the thing. We have to see them fight each other once.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Because people probably want to see that. Right, right, right, right. They think they, I felt like they were really aware of what people want and need. And because of this movie's, like, eclectic type of energy, it knew how to just keep ramping up, like, the dark shit and the sad stuff. like, all right, we have a real big daddy here.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Yes. We didn't even like murder everybody and kill his wife and breakfast. And his pregnant wife. Yeah. He's like, fucking go crazy here. I love it. It just just fucking just goes ramping up and they're not afraid to be, like there's something to be even said about they kill off a kid at the beginning of this movie.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Yes. And then the little girls even getting like this shit kicked out of her. I know. It's a fucking arrow in her. Like they were not, they didn't shy away from the brutality of what to do to all the characters. Yeah. And I was just like mad respect for that because it just made the movie that much more engaging.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Definitely. So, yeah, like all of that supports why the action on itself, if they were just YouTube clips every one of them. It's like they all stand as great pieces, every single one of them. Yeah. But a big part of the beauty is like all the surrounding elements that elevate the action scenes because, yeah, the action was like, that was just like, the time it gets the end, we're just like they're all. It's a free for all. It's a royal rumble. I'm like, I got, I don't know what the fuck's going.
Starting point is 00:09:31 This is crazy. Try to follow it. Yeah, we were able to. Did you have a favorite fight? Hi, hey, I'm interrupting this video to let you know that if you got like a business idea rattling around your head, merch, art, whatever. Shopify is literally how you do it. Store products, payments. It's all there day one.
Starting point is 00:09:49 You don't build the machine. You just start selling. And no, I'm not blowing smoke here. I use phrases like blowing smoke now. RejectnationShop.com. bringing it stuff like this that's been running on shopify for years way before they ever paid us to say this that's what i call a natural brand deal because yeah we've been using it for such a long time the store is legit one of the main ways we're able to keep the lights on around here you know a big part
Starting point is 00:10:16 of what got me early on there check out people actually finish buying no abandoned carts no friction and when they come back one tap boom done first time i watch orders come through that smooth I went, oh, this is real business now. And since Shopify is handling, well, you know, the boring stuff, your time goes where it should, making things that people want. We stopped fiddling with a store and started building the brand, hiring more artists. And you could start that today at Shopify.com slash rejects.
Starting point is 00:10:46 With Shopify, nothing stands between your idea and a real business. So go make it one. You can start your free trial at Shopify.com slash rejects. Start your free trial at Shopify.com slash rejects. Thank you so much, for sponsoring and supporting rejuvenation. I think it would have been the
Starting point is 00:11:04 I think it would have been the free-for-all just because it's, I'm trying to invest even in that the bald guy, Brian Lee's character. I was invested in him even though like we're not rooting for him, but like for him to be like this sword between this body of water
Starting point is 00:11:20 between with all our characters like and to cut through it all like that was so unexpected and then from there to choreograph that emotion, I think would have been my favorite, because you see all the fighting styles as well, so that was probably my favorite, yeah. Oh, yeah, it was like a culmination
Starting point is 00:11:36 of a bunch of different fighting styles. Yeah. That's a really, that's really solid point. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. How about you? Any fighting? A fight scene? That was your favorite? I really like the the one that breaks out at the club a lot. Oh, yeah, yeah. And then I would say the Royal Rumble one. Like, every fight here is
Starting point is 00:11:52 great. The only one that wasn't, like, great, but it was still emotionally investing. It was more of a narrative device was, I thought they might do something crazier when all the fucking gang shows up. Yeah, yeah. Going up the, going up the Yeah, I thought that would probably be, like, going through the, like, this is weird stage, like,
Starting point is 00:12:08 it's like, like, I'm like talking shit on this fucking movie. What they do there is crazy than a lot of American movies, but it's like, but every scene is so like grand. Yes, yes. That was the one where I thought might be like even more, like, crazier or do something different. And it, that was the only one
Starting point is 00:12:24 that weirdly didn't stand out that much. Yeah. I agree. I agree. I can really like visualize and and remember like a lot of key parts of fights in every single one of them. From the opening one where she's kidnapped. Yes. To the opening one with the actual prologue where the wife is killed. There's a good amount of these fights. And then on the ice with Brian Lee.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Yes. There's a lot of really amazing fights. And that was the one like outside of like when they used the bike to mow a lot of them down. Yeah. It wasn't the most memorable fight. True, true, true. I thought like there'd be like a much, a lot of craziness with it. It was a good fight.
Starting point is 00:12:57 just was like the least memorable. True. But yeah, I think the fight, but I think the finale fight was just, was like bonkers. Yeah. That was like one. You just got to watch like a billion times.
Starting point is 00:13:09 I don't know how the choreograph. That's hard. Yeah. Whoa. Like, they must have had such a headache. I feel like everyone had migraines making this movie. How do you not have a micrack?
Starting point is 00:13:18 I get like, if I walk into a door. Yeah. Oh, I need ibup. I need like four pills of ibuprofen. How the fuck did you make this movie? I'm in so much pain This looks like such a painful experience
Starting point is 00:13:31 Definitely, I agree I don't know how you felt about this But I think as much as we said It's ramped up with all this energy And like it's visceral And like it's like this uphill of energy What I loved about I don't know how you feel that but
Starting point is 00:13:47 But the coolest thing is that we get a flashback Of them getting to like what's your name? Yeah That was I don't know why that moved me emotion I'm like all this hype and then yes he's he's passed or our Joe Towsum character has passed and then you get to see oh they did connect because you don't really get that in the movie no yeah until you can't get a sense you get a sense a little bit and then in the jail cell like okay we're gonna it's very calming it was like perfect timing right at the end too so I don't know why but I appreciated that moment very all the fight scenes yes but there's that and I was like wow they put a button on it yeah well I think what they're saying is that this guy doesn't open up He's a closed book. Right, right, right, right. And at the end, he, you know, he opens up to him,
Starting point is 00:14:31 and then he opens up to his daughter, finally tells the story. So, like, there was a good, like, narrative. They had, that's, I mean, they had heart. Yeah. Because this guy is just, like, a fucking force of nature. Right. And, uh, but he sees that. But yeah, it's interesting because I see he's not a lot of movies with Jet Lee.
Starting point is 00:14:44 Yeah. And there were totally parts of his choreography where I was thinking of Jet Lee. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He used a lot of the choreographer, Corey Ewan. And there was, there's a special lot of, like, fake out moves that he would do. Yes.
Starting point is 00:14:54 There are March. I was like, this really reminds me like Jet Leaf. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's true. Anyway, let's answer some questions really quick. Let's do it. Do you want to read the first one from Resident Z? Resident Z. The Furious is one of the best action movies I've seen in a long time, a long while.
Starting point is 00:15:09 I'm only bummed that Mattia got only the fight scene because I loved it and it set the tone of the movie immediately. Question, what do you think is the significance of the movie not telling us way's name until the end of the movie? Just said it. Yeah. He doesn't open up to it up. This first, yeah. That's him opening up. It's becoming human.
Starting point is 00:15:30 He's not just a mysterious force in nature. Exactly. Yeah. Being closed off the whole movie, we're still invested, which is, again, a cool writing tool. But like, and then from there, we find out his name at the end. Yeah. Very cool.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Mike Joyce, the five-way fight at the end was pretty cool. All the rejacks fought each other who would come out on top. Oh, my God. I probably would forfeit immediately and get my ass kicked. I think I think The Johns are out I think you guys are too
Starting point is 00:16:04 Too nice to To like Yeah I don't want to fight Conflict Andrew would go For sure Too he's the same way
Starting point is 00:16:12 There you go I can see Tara Being a weird wild card Yeah Sure I've heard Roxy's a scrapper That should overthink it a little bit Oh maybe
Starting point is 00:16:23 I feel like I feel like I think it's trying to be assessing too much I'm technically I mean Koi's got somewhat of finding background But so do you I didn't yeah
Starting point is 00:16:35 I did martial arch for like 10 years Yeah yeah exactly My cardio is pretty intense right now So like I'm a martial artist anymore Like that I don't know Sure Like 15 years ago It's way more than 15 years ago
Starting point is 00:16:47 At this point now Like 20 years ago So it's been a long time But I can still like kicking shit Yeah yeah you can But I also have been in like a fucking real fight and forever. None of us have it.
Starting point is 00:16:58 I know, I know. I was picked on by my brother. That was it. I would say, I mean, Aaron's like, definitely a peacekeeper too, but he's also a football background, right? Yeah, and he's also, you know, he's like a really, he's the big guy. He's a strong guy.
Starting point is 00:17:11 I feel like, I feel like by just sheer force he could take his sound by, like, he just takes one smack on me. He had knocked out. Yeah, yeah, I'd have to be really clever. That's a Aaron. That's a Aaron. Yeah. I would agree with that.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Yeah. I want to do the last one. Yeah, you got it. Jay Rushden, question, what kind of Asian food would you eat after reacting to the movie there? While reacting. While reacting? French fries from Jollybee is what I would joke. The most Asian food you can get.
Starting point is 00:17:38 French fries. Yeah, like I think of like popcorn chicken and the Asian restaurants that you get that has seasoning on it. Yeah, that's what I thought of. A hamburger from Jollybee. Does anything from Jollybee? Your Shinoa Beef Bowl. Oh, yeah. what I would go with.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Sure. Oh, classic Asian Panda Express. Yes. Authentic Asian Panda Express. Of course. Not white at all. Not Americanized at all.
Starting point is 00:18:06 I do love orange. I love, I don't even meet anymore, but I find a good vegan orange chicken. I really get down with that. Yeah. Hell yeah. Keeping on the train. Jolly be fried chicken.
Starting point is 00:18:17 There you go. Some way to go, baby. Hell yeah. Way to go. Anyway, guys, we have finished fucking The Furious. Yeah. Thank you so much for being here.
