Listen, if you like this the way that we did and you are listening to this on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, like we are talking to you right now, like five star, all of that. Is this a, what's the redhead is the name? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Sheeran? Yes. He's got a great voice, all of his voice. Lee Pace. Listen. Oh, it was Luke Evans. Good thing. I got that one.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Yeah, you got it. Holy crap. Stephen Fry. That's the name of the guy. Yeah. Geez, Louise. Because I was looking at him going, I know he does a lot of comedy, which he does. I can't believe I couldn't pull that one.
Starting point is 00:02:06 A lot of British comedy. And he was just in the movie that I watched, Red, White and Royal Blue. Oh, that was a great film. Yeah, and he's an icon of queer man, and he plays a big in, and it was very interesting. That's a good film. Okay, so make sure that you check out Rejectnation Shop.com. Get yourself one of these sweaters. All the things.
Starting point is 00:02:26 Leave us the comments, hopefully kind ones. Let's break this down, Terry. This song is so good right now, though. It's very good. Okay. Man, we clearly are very much in the middle of a story right now, which makes this a little bit harder to review. But boy, oh boy, so you and I had the first gut reaction.
Starting point is 00:02:48 Our gut reaction is the exact same on this, that we thought that this was superior to the first one. Why do you think so? Well, I think the amount of adventure and the pace in this movie was a heck of a lot better than in the first one. I think that there was a lot more plots also in this. I mean, we were following, we met the new character who obviously had, I already forget his name, but he had originally shot the Black Era on the Barg at the
Starting point is 00:03:16 dragon. We also met the boater guy, the Barg, oh, that's the same guy. I like that we've, you also met your favorite Tariel. Yes, Tarial. and Legolas comes back. Like, I mean, there's so many plots here. And I love, though, that it's Legolas and Teriel's real goal is to kill all of these orcs, and they're going against their own sort of, like, king to go, he's not protecting
Starting point is 00:03:45 us. There's no way that back in the day these orcs would have been able to take over our territory, and they're kind of going off on their own and not only taking care of orcs, but saving the dwarves at the same time. And yes, we all see that Teriel is doing it out of love for, for the Kiki, Kiki, Kee, Kee, Kee, Philly, Philly, Killy, Philly, Killy, Killy, got there eventually. And we know that she's doing it for that, but the adventure and following the dwarfs from like the beginning and the end, we're going on an insane adventure. And then we get to the dragon, you're like, this has been wild from start to finish.
Starting point is 00:04:24 and the best absolute is when they are in the barrels going through that river, the raging waters, and that scene where Legolas and Teriel are just taking those orcs down. I just thought that was amazing and so much fun. I was stunned by it. And that lasted probably a good 10 minutes. Yeah, it really did. That scene was incredible.
Starting point is 00:04:48 I agree that that was the strongest scene of the movie to me, at least the biggest, strongest action scene, the movie. I love that we finally have our love story here with Killie and Teriel and I'm sure you guys are like, it's Stariel and Gilly and listen, we're going to do
Starting point is 00:05:06 the best we can to pronounce all their names, but the two of them, you know how much I loved the love story in the Lord of the Rings. Right. And I'm a lover, love shipper ships, and that was missing from this for me in this franchise, in the Hobbit trilogy.
Starting point is 00:05:22 So I really love seeing that. And I'm very excited to see where that goes in the third Hobbit movie. Yeah. Even though we love Legolas, and I think that was an interesting setup that we see that legoloss as intetorial, but the fact that she's into a dwarf, which at this time is probably a little bit forbidden. You know, they're of different minds and different shapes and sizes. Right.
Starting point is 00:05:43 But I think that that was really cool. And I'm curious to see who that love story goes. I also love that we got to know some of the dwarfs a little bit better, not just keely but also to learn more about his brother who apparently they're the two sons of thorin which means that unless they're using kin loosely here just like that is there i don't think they are they looked like him too once we noticed they look like thorin a little bit but we're also bringing a lot more lord of the rings loren to this true because of you know um not just them being the kin but also the one throwaway line about our favorite dwarf from Lord of the Rings.
Starting point is 00:06:25 What's his name? Sam. No, Dwarf, Bid. Oh, Dwarf. You don't know either. Frodo? No, no, Dwarf, babe, not Hobbit. Oh, Dwarf.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Gimley. Gimley. Gimley, thank you. Gimley's dad in this. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes. There's that connection to Lord of the Rings, which is cool. We get Legolas, which is connection. to the Lord of the Rings, which is cool.
Starting point is 00:06:49 We get the Sauron connection to Lord of the Rings, which is cool. So it just keeps calling back to the world that we already know and love. Obviously, we've been in Middle Earth the whole time, but it's like these are the things, the reason why we fell in love with this franchise. And so now it's all kind of in here. I love the idea of the Bjorn Skin Changer. It just keeps growing what fantasy is,
Starting point is 00:07:10 because now not only do we have orcs and dwarfs and hobbits and elves and wargs, But we also have skin changers with Bjorn, who's apparently the only one left, but I doubt that he is. And we've got Smog, Dragon, so it's just so cool in this fantasy land. And we keep going to all these different places like this Lake Town, which is unbelievable. Yeah. And was visually just really appealing. And we got to know Ballin more to the white dwarf, the white bearded dwarf, which was great. So I'm liking that they're giving me a little bit more of what I want.
Starting point is 00:07:46 I wish I could still like the back of my hand name all 13 dwarfs. Right. By the end of watching six hours of Hobbit movies, we should be able to do that. Right. And they're just not differentiating Ori from Dory enough for me to be able to do that. No, no, not for me either. But, you know, still, so this is vastly superior to last one. Better fights, better character development, more action, more love stories.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Yeah. Cooler dragons. Cooler thought processes. Like, just everything was just elevated. Yeah, and I'm really, really into watching the third one. Like, I want to watch it right now. Right? And, like, it's wild that I'm like, you left us on a cliffhanger at the end.
Starting point is 00:08:28 You also left us on a cliffhanger on Gandalf. He's locked up in the orcs territory, and we never went back there. Good call, dude. He is hanging in a cage in the orc territory. And I thought that he was going to somehow come in and maybe say, save them from the from the dragon when it got tough and then I thought for sure we'll eventually see the dragon go out and then get the wind weapon and the black arrow but that is that is all waiting for us and I'm so intrigued now not only are we going to have to deal with the dragon
Starting point is 00:09:02 in our future we also are going to have to deal with saving Gandalf I don't know that maybe he can save himself if he could I think he already would have done it by now yeah that's interesting because Gandalf always comes to save us, but do we actually need to save Gandalf? We're going to have to. Or maybe, we don't know. He could possibly get himself out of it. We saw him in Lord of the Rings get himself out of that tower. True.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Butterfly whisperer king he is. Yeah, I mean, that's, yeah, you never know. I will be intrigued to see how we're taking care of the dragon. But also now that Teriel and Legolas are back on track with them, we've touched base with them again, how that will come in handy with them just hunting orcs. I feel like their plan is like, we are orc hunters now possibly with the dwarves. And now, I mean, if they can take care of the dragon together, who's to say that they can't then eventually line up and take care of all of the orcs?
Starting point is 00:10:02 There's so many questions to be answered in this third one that we introduced in this. Number one, we hear about possibly the dead. still being alive. Yeah. Thrain. Thorn's dad still being alive. So like what's going to happen with that? We also, not only do we have to deal with Smog still, but we have to deal with the main villain that was set up in the first one, Azog, Azog, because he's still around.
Starting point is 00:10:30 And we know that Azog and Thorne have major beef and especially over Thorne's grandfather. So, and Thorne's dad. So I am curious what the ultimate showdown between Azores. Zog and Thorne is actually going to look like. And I don't even know who I feel like is the bigger bad right now. Is it the necromancer that we know ends up being the biggest bad of the entire franchise, which is Sauron? Right.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Is it. Is it. You know, like those are all villains that I'm really invested in the closing out of those storylines, which is really cool. And I kind of didn't expect after the first Hobbit movie to go into this and be like, Oh, wow. By the third one, I'm like, I am desperate to know how this ends. Reject Nation interrupting this video to tell you that if you are looking for a fun and simple way to get into daily fantasy sports, let me introduce you to prize picks. You may have heard of them before, and that's because they are America's number one.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Daily fantasy app with over 5 million active members. And honestly, it's the easiest one I've ever used. And the only one I've ever been able to figure out how to use. That's how easy it is. All you do is pick more or less on player stat projections, like how many yards, your favorite quarterback will throw. or how many points a star player will score. You can pick between two and six players and if you get them right, you win!
Starting point is 00:11:46 Now, if you've never tried fantasy sports before, you might be thinking, is this really for me? Well, I'll tell you, Price Picks makes it ridiculously easy to jump in. You don't need to be a sports expert or spend hours researching, boring. Quick, fun, lets you engage with games in a totally new way.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Think of it like a game with a game. Almost like an inception kind of it. Something to make watching sports even more exciting. Plus, with their injury insurance and flex play options, price picks takes the pressure off. So you're never completely out of the game. I'll also add that if you've, tried other fantasy apps before.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Here's why PricePix is better. You can now win up to 1,000 times your cash with just six correct picks. No other app makes it easy to build lineups and keep playing even if the player is injured. Price Picks puts their members first with fast, secure payouts, sometimes in as little as 15 minutes. Only platform that combines simplicity, flexibility, and great rewards like this. It's available in most states, including California, Texas, and Georgia. Download the Price Fix app today. Use code Rejects and get $50 instantly when you play just $5.
Starting point is 00:12:40 You don't even have to win to get the bonus. Wow, it's like the best boss ever. So what are you waiting for? Price Fix, run your game. Thank you for sponsoring this video. Me too. I really am. I thought we would at least get to where the dragon goes to town.
Starting point is 00:12:56 And I'm like, he's on the wind weapon and the black arrow. And we take him down. And I don't know what else would happen. But now I'm just very, very intrigued. I kind of like the fact they left us on a cliffhanger. I mean, that would kill me if I wasn't in the position that we are in now where we do have the third one and we can watch it rather rapidly within a few days. If it wasn't like that and we had to wait, I would be like, ah! I know, me too, me too.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Like dying inside. What do you think the deal is with the Arkenstone? Do you think Smog was telling the truth? And do you think that Thorne is, do you think Thorne is to the Arkenstone the same way that Frodo and Bilbo have been to the ring? Like, they're the ones who can handle it. so that Thorne actually can handle the Arkinstone, or do you think that the Arkinstone really has the power to completely destroy Thorin? I think that the Arkinstone probably has the ability to destroy Thorne. I think the dragon is telling a little bit of truth.
Starting point is 00:13:56 I also think that Thorne reminds me of the guy that tried to take it from Frodo. What was that guy? Gone, no, no, no. Like earlier in the first one, remember the, there was, an elf guy in the first one that he fought with that guy. Bormier? He, yes, thank you. That he a little bit reminded.
Starting point is 00:14:19 The one who is in the fellowship. You're talking about. Yes. Yes. Who went, who was not a good part of the fellowship. Anyway, Thorne reminds me a little bit of him because I do think that for some reason, the way that he was, and I don't know if it's a bait and switch, the way that he was treating Bilbo when he's like, do you have the stone?
Starting point is 00:14:40 he wouldn't let him pass, I thought, yeah, I do think that maybe the stone would fully take over. Thorin, I'm not sure if I can trust him. I go back and forth. I do too. I go back and forth. And I don't know why. I think that they're doing that to us on purpose, but I just go, yeah, for us who haven't read the books, we don't know. And so I'm totally back and forth on him. I don't know. I think he's a good dude. And I think that he'll be able to rise above the Arkinstone, whatever it is. However, I'm so with you that unlike in the Lord of the Rings franchise, where I fully trusted Frodo the whole time, even down to the point where he betrays Sam for a second, I still was like, no, I have faith that he's got this. There's something about Thorne here where I'm like, I think I trust you, but you've made a couple of strange calls
Starting point is 00:15:31 that make me wonder, they just make me wonder. So, yeah, wow, I'm really liking. this i can't wait to watch the third one um do you have a favorite character in the hobbit trilogy so far in the first two movies that's a good question um man uh uh you know it's tough because i just i just go i'm trying in my brain i'm going through the obvious ones are the ones that we remember and i kind of don't want to go for an obvious like i said even yeah i mean and i said i think you even before Gandalf, I really do love him. And even from the first Lord of the Rings, when I was like, I love Gandalf and they killed him off
Starting point is 00:16:14 because I didn't know he was going to come back. I still do truly, oh, you know what? You know who I'll say? The brown witch, the brown freaking, randagast. Randagast, I think is the right name. Radagast. Oh, I almost had it. I almost had it, y'all.
Starting point is 00:16:32 I love him. It's only because it's written down that I've got it. I know. But I love him. He loves all the animals, so do I. He's got a whole fricking nest in his hat. I adore him. He's going to save Gandalf in the next one.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Okay. I think he will. I just got very excited about my idea and prediction because why did we see him warn him? He's going to come back. What if it's a trap? And Gandalf knew it was a trap. I know. But I do think that we might lose him.
Starting point is 00:17:05 I do think he might die because we don't hear anything about. him at least from what I remember in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and obviously we do hear about the white wizard um who ends up being sarumon POS so maybe the brown wizard doesn't make it out of this trilogy I do think that there's no way that we make it to the end of the hobbit trilogy and we haven't lost anybody I do think that we yeah I think one of the 13 is going to die and maybe the brown wizard um but we will see I also just cannot I know that I talked about this a lot throughout the movie but I cannot believe that for 10 full effing minutes I thought we were watching leg loss and arwin yeah when you said it I was like maybe it is and she's the younger version
Starting point is 00:17:46 you did not correct me I was like and she dyed her hair red you were like yeah and I was like wow this is so cool that leg loss and arwin are together I want to see them together more kickbutt you're like yeah I was just on board with you because I was like you were probably like this goes crazy I'm a letter to dig her own grave it does it is crazy how much of angelian lily and live Tyler look like when they were in your health ears, but no excuse, I gotta get my eyes checked because that was some facial blindness if I've ever seen one in my life. I think that at this point, I didn't save her because I didn't know how. I was like on board. I was like, yeah, totally. They look alike as probably her at a younger age. I didn't know.
Starting point is 00:18:19 Killy and Tariel, they're my two favorite characters because I'm most invested in their romance and just want to see where that goes. And also, I love how, you know, in the Lord of the Rings movies. I kept saying, I want to see more Galadriel because she kicks butt and I want to see more Arwin. And then Arwin 2.0 comes through he oratorial and she is the best fighter of any of the elves. I mean, she's so good. Like a loss was amazing of this, but like she wiped the floor with them and I was like, that's a beast. And then she knows when to be strong, when to be healing, whatever it is. She's a really cool character. Evangeline Lily has always been one of my favorite performers ever since Lost. I think she's an absolute beast.
Starting point is 00:19:01 I've loved her as WASP as well and seen her in a bazillion things But no wonder I mean she's a franchise queen She's part of some of the biggest She's marbles She's Lord of Rains She's lost
Starting point is 00:19:14 She crushes So those are all of the things That I have to say Any other thoughts on The Hobbit Desimation of Smog I just I can't wait to watch the next one I'm interested for it I can't wait
Starting point is 00:19:27 What is the name of the third movie the battle of the five armies I think that's it yeah five armies where are they oh my god orcs and wargs the oh I was trying to name like where are the armies and then I'm like the dragon
Starting point is 00:19:48 but he doesn't have an army and then what's the third macromance of Sarman no but we keep hearing about them I think it's really what we're talking about is like the L the dead armies no no I think we've heard five mentioned a couple of times, but it's the humans, the elves.
Starting point is 00:20:05 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, the dwarves. Okay, yeah, you're right. I don't think the hobbits. No, you're right. But I don't know, because we keep hearing that five armies referenced, and so it might be a combo of these things. Ooh, and the dead people army. Macromancer, or the one we saw?
Starting point is 00:20:21 The one. We saw in Lord of the Rings. The one that I think we saw that they also referenced in the last Hobbit, where there's the ghosts that can come alive and they looked like... The ones that we saw? Yes. Yeah. But they weren't set free, so who knows if they did their job?
Starting point is 00:20:39 I mean, I'm pulling stuff out of my butt right now. I'm just excited to see the next one. Love this whole franchise. Yeah, I love it, too. Love the whole vibe. If you love it like we do, be kind, leave nice comments. And we'll see you next time for Hobbit 3. Later, rejects.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Miche, hey, hey, Michelle. Wow. If there's anyone at our Patreon page who I believe could morph into a fire breathing dragon, that would be so cool. It would be Mishay. Oh, my God. What desolation would be left in Mishay's wake? Well, I mean, I can't imagine, you know. Like, Mishay, I would, Mishay, though, is a, is a reasonable dragon.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Sure. You can hire her to, for service. Oh, okay. Let's go. like one time on the 405 it was a little busy so I wanted you need to get to the airport
Starting point is 00:21:35 yeah I need a dragon she said hop on my back and I said no I'm afraid of heights can you just burn all the cars in front of me and I could just drive through just melt them down unfortunately it caused a lot of traffic a lot more yeah and there's firefighters
Starting point is 00:21:54 there's paramax or people yelling people pounding on my car because I was going to my car and harmed. I told me Shea, the dragon, told me she a dragon. I like, hey, you know,
Starting point is 00:22:07 it's going to be hard to pay you, considering I didn't really get the benefits of hiring you to burn all these cars in the 405 for me. And she's like, hey, I just did what you asked me to do. I did the service. You got to pay you up.
Starting point is 00:22:22 Now we're in small claims court. She was trying to get money for me. but it's like the dragons have rights can me shay the dragon possibly possibly sue and win this
Starting point is 00:22:36 and you do you have a right to your own attorney now it's as a mythical creature but then it got completely politicized and publicized there are a mythical jurisdiction we started reporting on it as a crime
Starting point is 00:22:49 what I was doing like I'm the like I'm the bad guy she's the fire breathing really under a dragon she was trying to help someone passed through traffic, which she didn't. All you said... She delayed that person.
Starting point is 00:23:00 All you said was it would be nice if somebody were to come and burn all these cars, melt them down, and create me a new road to drive to the airport quickly to... You didn't tell her to actually do it. Plausible deniability. My almost bolder than liability is what we like to call on here. Anyway, Michelle ended up murdering
Starting point is 00:23:18 my whole family, so I've just paid up the hundred bucks I owed her. Well, you know, but it was... I'm not a lot of money. It was an unexpected journey. It's the principal. It was an unexpected journey. Battle of five armies is what they call it.
Starting point is 00:23:33 The Hobbit. The lawyers. J.R.R. Tolkien. The judge. All representing armies. It was crazy, man. The legal battle of five armies. Bring me the subpoena of Okin Shields.
Starting point is 00:23:50 Hey, I hope we have a Merry Christmas. And I have a happy year. And I know that you appreciate this shout out. because we know you well and we tailor-suited it to your exact specifications as a major fan of the hobbit absolutely be well
