i really liked this i feel like we went on three very separate journeys um i think there were
some really really epic battles
Obviously, our last one at Helms' end was
insane.
Really crazy.
But then we ended up getting the tree one right on top of that.
And even the one earlier.
Even the one earlier one.
That's what I even wrote it down, the one with the like wolf dog things.
Oh, the, um, hold on.
I know what they have.
The wargs.
The wargs.
That's right.
I mean, really amazing battle scenes.
Helms obviously was like the most epic with the castle.
Cave Castle.
I mean, I just can't even imagine what the coordination was like on these.
I mean, Jesus Christ.
They were keeping stunt performers booked and busy.
Yes, for sure.
Yeah, I just really like the three separate journeys, too.
It was kind of like you mentioned at one point.
Also, you got some, like, comic relief from some.
And sometimes we were with one group for so long.
We would be like, oh, yeah, what's going on with those guys?
Which, you know, of course, just builds more and more investment into the next movie.
And also, I mean, like, we knew that the cousin was still out there, the nephew of the king.
Yes.
But, yeah, he's, like, did we get his name?
Because I feel like now he's part of things.
Hold on.
He was banished and he found the king's dead son who wasn't dead.
And then he brought him back, but then he did die.
I did not get his name.
And then he still got banished.
I did not get his name, but it's Theodin's nephew.
But that was an amazing, like the elves, first of all, I mean,
Hall Deer coming, rest in peace, rest in peace, hall dear from the house of Elrond.
Having the elves joined, I absolutely did not see that coming.
I really, really, really, really didn't.
Honestly, a cousin was coming, but.
I didn't think that King, Theodon.
Theodian, I really did not expect him to make it.
And we just saw him there at the end.
I mean, really all along, even since his eyes got clear.
We were still like, nah, this guy is not going to make it.
I thought he was going to die way earlier.
Yeah.
Like, yeah.
I really, I didn't think he was going to go out with his people.
Yeah, for sure.
I didn't think he was going to survive the usurping of Saramon from his earthly body.
Yeah, I agree.
I thought he was going to be taken off.
I mean, obviously the trees are like a fan favorite, I'm sure.
I think so.
I mean, ends.
They were so great.
have to be my favorite creature.
And I love Brego the Horse and I love
the Oliphant, but yeah, the
ends are my favorite. Yeah, it feels
like... And you know what? The whole ent mood.
All of them. All of them. It feels like
we're getting some really fun
creatures in this movie, too.
I really enjoy that as...
Because we had fun stuff in the first one,
but I felt like this... But it was mostly...
This film took the cake. Yes.
But when I say creature, too, I mean that
like animal kind of hybrid
tomb not just the ghouls, goblins, and wraiths.
No, I mean more like animal.
Yeah, yeah.
That was fun.
Which almost like, should I, I guess I shouldn't refer to an ant as an animal because they are
like more different race.
But I'm talking about the evil ones where it was, they're getting very creative too,
which is just super fun.
She's the last March of the Ents.
Shout out to the last.
I don't think it will be the last actually.
I don't either.
There was a lot of water.
They're just going to keep growing.
That's amazing.
And then them eating the orcs at the end?
Like how?
What I could have seen more of that, honestly.
It was awesome.
You think they just like compressed them?
Like they almost did to Sam and, or not Sam to Mary and put them.
No, yeah, it's in Mary.
I think so.
I think they just like crushed them and put them under the earth.
I'm trying to think if I had like any other highlights before we have a lot of questions so we
will want to get into those.
Like, but I'm trying to think if I had anything else.
Obviously, Aragon had like some really great.
It kind of felt like in the first in the first movie he didn't want to.
to be so much in, like, leadership of stuff.
And I feel like, I mean, it was definitely kind of thrust upon him,
but he is definitely a leader through this and keeping our other guys alive.
Yeah.
I feel like usually films about, you know, hope and believing that there is still good
in the world, those are, sometimes those don't get me as much just because it's dark times
right now, guys.
It's dark, it's looking bad.
In our world and in the story.
Yeah, I mean in our world.
But it really, this film really did inspire me and it made me feel like a little better for a second.
And then I start thinking about AI and like that.
And then I can't think about it anymore.
But it really did make me feel, I feel inspired and picked up and lifted up for going into a beautiful.
This is a Saturday when we're recording it.
So going into a beautiful Saturday night.
but also I think my favorite part of this film was that King transformation
yeah that was the craziest thing I've ever seen in my life oh you mean when his eyes
literally weird yeah that was cool that was so sick that was so awesome oh my god um besides
that if if you guys could please if you guys are still watching comment down below what
you think the orc juice was that Pipp and Drake oh god but should we get into some
questions because we got it quite a bit because we tried that new electrolyte thing
right before and I was like
had a weird taste in my mouth and then I yeah
that was that one sat with me for a long
time I actually literally gagged
I don't know where I got this pen but someone
an orc ate the end
of it you I mean
look at that no thanks
someone chewed the metal tip of this
so anyways
it was Greg it was Greg
it was Aaron quit eating metal
Greg stop okay
you ever hit that point where you look at your closet and go
okay maybe I should start dressing like an actual adult because apparently I've hit it I'm in my mid-30s now I've been going to more events and I've realized I actually like looking like a little more put together my wife loves it especially when I look more like a gentleman which is surprising considering she stayed with me for 10 years where I look like me but here's my problem I don't want fashion to become a hobby and I definitely don't want to spend hundreds of dollars just because somebody put a fancy name on the label that's why this video is sponsored by quince

Jaden Rhodes writes in and says,
Hi, Jaden.
This movie is considered the least best.
Oh.
Oh, okay.
This movie is considered the least best of this trilogy.
It seems people really like the forming of the fellowship in the first movie.
And I won't spoil the third movie.
Please don't.
But it's some good stuff.
But I am curious, how do y'all compare it to the first movie?
And what is y'all's favorite character so far?
One of the reasons why I love these movies so much is that each character is so different from the next.
Agreed.
I liked this one.
I liked this one a lot.
I mean, I like the first one too, but I think this was definitely more exciting.
I like this one more.
I feel like the first one was a lot of, like, getting to know people in their lands and their names and the names of their lands.
And here we got to be a little more present for the journeys and the battles and the creatures.
definitely more investment.
I really liked this one.
I loved this one.
I loved this one.
Honestly.
Yeah.
Call me crazy.
I like this one more than the first.
I think it was something about all the creatures
and all the different.
I mean,
the first one is incredible,
obviously.
But I think that I just really loved
how all the different storylines
were woven in.
And even though this one was longer,
the extended edition at least,
was longer than the first one.
I really like,
was at the edge of my seat.
Like, and the way, yeah, I don't know.
Every time it cut to like Pippin and Marion the Ents
or Frodo and Sam on their journey with a Golem or Schmeagle
and then cut back to the battle, it just was a perfect timing.
The pacing.
The pacing was nice for that and for those three separate journeys
and probably really helped with the length of it.
But I agree.
Probably enjoyed this one a little bit more.
your favorite character so far?
My favorite character so far?
That's tough.
I'm like human or wizard.
Yeah.
Can we categorize them?
And?
I mean, in, I mean, Schmeagle.
He really is probably my favorite.
He's pissing me off right now.
He is?
Well, who is she?
He's very torn.
He's very torn.
Who's this lady that?
Oh, I don't know.
I'm excited for that.
So I've never been more confident that there will be a fourth.
Because I'm like,
Or is it one of the women we already know?
No, it's definitely not Galadriel,
and it's definitely not Arwen.
And I didn't catch the other one's name.
The lady, the blonde's lady.
Maybe it's another creature,
because Schoemingle is kind of feeling half-creaturey at this point.
But it's not any of the entwives,
because they're lost.
They're lost.
They're lost.
Well, and the dwarf women, apparently,
are very few and far between and bearded as well.
Oh, I think that he was saying that the dwarf women don't have the beards and that's how you tell.
No, he was saying they do.
It's hard.
Well, that was the joke.
Oh, wait, really?
That Legaliz or whoever was behind him made.
He said that he was saying there's not very many dwarf women and it might be because it's hard to tell us apart from the women because they have beards also, basically.
Oh, my God.
Smingle is definitely my favorite.
Smingle and the trees are pretty top for me.
I've always liked Sam.
I appreciate Sam and his loyalty, but also his constant skepticism.
I think that's a good friend, for sure.
My favorite character is Treebeard.
Treebeard?
Also, um...
Your boyfriend Schmeagle?
And Treebeard?
No, my other boyfriend.
Who's your other boyfriend?
Eric Gordon.
Oh, he's mine.
F. Jackie.
F.M.K.
And we're going to have to fight two women for him each, apparently.
Okay, fine.
Let's go.
Oh, yeah, next question.
I have a question.
It's F. Mary Kill.
Ooh, that's a good one.
Wait, do someone please write in for the third one and ask us?
I want all of the questions to just be kiss, Mary Kill.
Yeah, I like it.
I like it.
I like it.
Let's go to Dewey.
Dewey.
Doey.
Am I supposed to clap before or after?
I always do it wrong, I feel like.
It doesn't matter that much.
Doey.
Hi, Dewey.
What did you think of the movie's darker tone compared to the first movie?
And did it work for you?
Hope you're both well, as always.
Thanks, Dewey.
Um, I liked it.
Just fine.
I didn't really notice that it was much darker.
I guess the first one...
I noticed that the stakes were much more insane.
Well, yeah.
I mean, I don't know.
I feel like we spent in the first one a lot of time at the Shire and at the...
Where do the elves live?
Sorry?
Say that again?
We've spent a lot of time at the Shire and where the elves live as well.
The house of Elrond.
Elrondell.
Rivendell. How do I forget?
Rivendell.
Lerrond, Hubbard's.
Rivendell.
That's where my boyfriend grew up.
I mean, I know that not great stuff was happening, of course, in the first movie, too.
But I feel like it was much prettier.
This darker tone, like we said, there was just a lot more battle.
And obviously, the darker tone was setting the,
the scene for all of these terrible goblins and monsters to start forming.
So necessary.
It worked for me.
Wouldn't have worked for me if it had been all beautiful like the Shire, that's for sure.
I think that the, I think for me when films have a more stark contrast between like really,
really high stakes making it a lot darker, it makes the payoff of the winds better for me.
So I really felt like it worked in a huge way.
And it also, it even made the payoffs of, like, some of the jokes, like, they're pretty cheesy, but, like, cutting from, like, an extreme, really depressing thing.
Like, it made those scenes with Pippin and Mary, like, payoff even more.
It made all the jokes from Zubi, Zubi Zoo, from Kimli.
How'd I miss that guy?
And made all the jokes between Gimli and Legolas pay off a lot more.
Oh, their little friendship forming is so sweet.
I love it.
Also, though, where the hell was Legolus?
Again, through...
Again.
Again.
Where does he keep sneaking off to?
It's just like doing shit.
I don't know.
He really just comes out and like kicks ass, though, when he does.
Every time, you know, maybe.
He's working on his braids.
Yeah, literally.
Okay.
Cody Price writes in and says,
Hi, Cody.
So Cody says, the Lord of the Rings, the two towers.
Oh, I don't think I was supposed to read that part.
Cody Price says,
when Fantamere was in the theatrical cut
he was almost a forgotten character
but in the extended edition of the two towers
and the return of the king's, the next one.
It really gives a lot more to his character
and he becomes one of my five
favorite characters of this franchise.
Just curious,
how did you like the new character
of Fantamir in this film?
I mean, he wasn't very likable
for a good bit of it
although he did kind of redeem himself there at the end.
I think he realized.
He's still pissing me on.
But he realized that Frodo needed to go return the ring,
that he didn't need to keep the ring in Gondor,
which is what he really wanted to do.
I think that's what his father wanted to.
So he had a bit of a turnaround.
I'm curious to see what he does in the next one.
Yeah, I feel like he is one of your top five.
Yeah, if he's one of your top five,
I need to wait until we watch the third.
We love a good comeuppance.
Yeah, we love a comeuppance.
Because, yeah, I need to see his whole character.
but what I will say is that him
as like a plot vehicle
like so sort of like
Boramir
may he rest in peace
I love that we have his brother
yeah and again that was like they look so similar
to me really really similar
it would have been so funny if it was like the same character
for a moment I was like it could be him
yeah but Boramere was definitely a little older
I don't know I have to see
yeah thanks for that other little nugget though
to get us excited about it
Let's go to Noel Bill Train.
Hey, Noel.
Did we decide if you were no or Noel?
I'm pretty sure it's Noel.
But we asked you to let us know.
Well, you're the one reading it.
I think.
I don't think of the video where we...
Oh, it's not out yet.
It's not out yet.
Sorry, no.
I'm correct.
If, okay, you know what's funny,
if in the future to us,
when you're watching this, it's the past.
So future you, please be sorry to past us
that are now in the present,
saying that we don't know how to pronounce your name.
Okay.
Did that make sense?
Follow it.
You got it.
Good.
What do you think?
What do you guys think it is about Aragon that makes him feel like such a natural leader,
no matter where he is or the situation.
So sexy.
I mean, well, what we discovered about him,
again, like another layer to Aragon, I guess.
Is that he's also good with animals.
He is good with animals.
But what was, we also found out he's, he's gonna, he's 87 years old.
He is 87 years old.
It kind of feels like every, every bit we get a new layer to him.
Like I said, too, it felt like he didn't really want to be a leader so much in the first one.
He was down to help out and be a part of things.
But he, he definitely took on the leadership role here as he should.
But I think that maybe that's what makes him.
in that role no matter what is do we get the name of what he was it started with a D hold on
because she was like here there's no way you're this a Dermaden Dermadden I didn't write it down in time and I
didn't want to rewind but also like he was raised by the elves his mother tried to protect him like
there was you know there's a lot there's a lot of things the people of rohan will need Aragorn
that was said gendolf said that um I part of
of me is also because he is the heir of the throne to Gondor and he is in Silder's blood. I wonder if
part of it is, like he is known. Like he's well known. Like when he revealed himself to not be
strider, it was Strider the Ranger and I've been calling him Strider the Rider. I don't want to
unpack that. Don't want to unpack that. But like when he was like, I'm actually Eragorn,
everyone went, oh my God, you're Eragorn, you know? So I think it's also just like a status. He
wears his he bears the ring i don't know a different ring a different ring and yeah maybe it's
some people are just some people are just natural born leaders too you know yeah yeah anyways
macoy oana writes in and says hi jackie and page with two cute emojis hi mccoy uh the two towers
has so many characters facing situations where they're terrified but have to keep going anyway
Jackie and Paige,
what do you think is something in your own lives
that has taught you how to keep going
when you really didn't feel capable of doing it?
Well, you gave birth, but...
I mean, it's beyond that.
It's beyond...
It's parenthood, I think, in general.
You can't give up on that,
and you have to keep going.
Yeah, there's no choice.
It's really exhausting.
Something in my life that has taught me to keep going
when I felt like I couldn't or wasn't.
isn't capable of doing it.
Probably my S&RIs.
Those have kept me capable of going when I didn't want to get any depressants.
Oh.
Oh, there you go.
Hey, that's a beautiful thing, sister.
It is a beautiful thing.
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, I think those be what is taught, but is that a lesson?
Or should I just be lazy and stick with that answer?
No, it's about not feeling capable of something and overcoming it.
And that's a beautiful thing.
Yeah.
Asking for help is a great and seeking help in your life is.
Psychiatria and therapy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
I mean, that takes a lot of courage.
And a lot of people suffer for a long time without seeking help.
So more power to you, sister.
Yeah.
But besides that, good friends.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Love it.
Love, love.
Love, love.
Love, love, love, love, love love, Lord of the Rings.
Live laugh, love.
Disc Media.
Hey, Disc Media.
Hi, Disc Media.
You're new.
You are new.
The extended edition includes more scenes for almost every character.
But I am particularly interested in what y'all thought about Aowins.
Aowin is the sister whose name we couldn't.
Oh, her funeral song.
Yes.
Oh, my God, it was beautiful.
Remember?
I do.
Oh, it was so good.
No, it was haunting.
Mary and Pippin growing taller, loved that.
I really thought they were going to come from trees for a minute.
And of course, Aragon's eating Aeroon's.
Aeroen's soup.
Funny, good.
Aowen.
Again, these names are pretty close together in pronunciation at least.
Good, needed.
I don't know.
Thoughts.
I liked it.
I feel like they're building on something between the two of their relationship there
about the soup.
And I did like that.
I also feel like she was very much.
She was like they were trying to make her like such like the female character,
put her with the women, have her do the women things.
And I love that maybe she was not a good cook.
Really.
She's like, I'm pretty good with the story.
Yeah, exactly.
I loved that for her actually.
Also, very much her funeral song was, yeah, like you said, incredibly haunting.
Yeah.
I feel the exact same way as Paige.
I really, I think that all.
of the extended bits.
I mean, at least those three weeks,
we obviously, we don't know what's extended and what's not.
But those three bits that you named,
they just made the viewing experience so much better, I think.
You know?
Yeah.
Maybe if you're in a rush.
Sure, but we need those moments.
They are what really connect you to characters.
And I think they are what let you understand
their specific relationship styles,
even Mary and Pippen having the thing about growing, you know.
And that is what it's.
Yeah, especially because I feel like Mary and Pippen to me in the first movie were sort of
interchangeable almost.
But this one, seeing that they do have that bit of competition between them and then seeing how Mary
was the one really at the end that was like, no, I want to fight for the shire.
Yeah.
You know, you're a part of this world, so you need to be a part of this war.
That was, that was an, oh, I loved that.
And maybe we still don't know if it was totally intentional or not, but having, but rerouting
tree beard to go south.
I think that maybe he knew.
what he was doing. I know. I think so. I think so. You know? It was awesome. It was very cool.
Yeah, we obviously love those little moments. I loved it. I wonder what was in her soup.
I wonder. The funeral song was so beautiful. Like, I'm always like, this has to be taken from some
language, kind of, like, Latin or something. You know what I mean? I feel like, I kind of think.
They were like, just make up a song in your own. No, I feel like there must. I feel like there must.
be like, because there were books made,
I bet that there's like some sort of
like dictionary for Elvish that
exists, you know? In the lower
somewhere. I'm sure that there's people
at Comic-Con speaking in that language, you know?
Like that adds up for me.
That's in my head, can.
Yeah. Anyways, final question
from Jay Rushden. Hi, Jay.
Jay asks,
who's your favorite female character
in the movie?
Out of, and we have so many to choose from.
Out of, oh, three?
So many to pick from
I can't.
Pick, I can't pick.
Who's yours?
I mean, I kind of like Galadriel,
but I think it's really...
I mean, Awyn...
It sounds like I'm saying Aaron, but like in a baby voice.
I know.
Ewin.
I like her too.
She's just very new and...
She's cool, but she's new and human.
I like Galadriel because she's, I mean,
she's fucking omnipotipot.
That's so sick.
Yeah, so cool.
And also, like, wood.
Yeah.
Agreed.
Agreed.
And, like, all knowing, I don't know, I love the...
Remember we were talking about how she literally was just, like, glowing and how they probably
did that?
Yeah.
Her skin, her eyes, her nail, like, all of it.
Mm-hmm.
But also, there was just a very strong stillness to her that I appreciated.
Yeah.
A note that I have from the first movie is that when she was speaking to Frodo, I wrote,
Why did it feel weird and threatening when she was giving him advice?
And I love an off-putting woman.
Yeah, she was, yeah, she's very, very strong.
There was something kind of scary.
I want to be afraid.
I loved it.
Right.
Yeah, she knows everything.
You should be scary.
I was really scary.
All women should be a little bit scary.
And with that, we're going to leave you until we return for the following.
I was being scary.
Well, we'll see you on the next one.
See on the flip side.
Please be kind and we'll see you next time.
We'll rewind.
Bye.
