Starting point is 00:00:00 At Sierra, discover great deals on top brand workout gear, like high-quality walking shoes, which might lead to another discovery. 40,000 steps, baby. Who's on top now, Karen? You've taken the office step challenge, a step too far. Don't worry, though. Sierra also has yoga gear. It might be a good place to find your zen.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Discover top brands at unexpectedly low prices. Sierra, let's get moving. This episode is brought to you by State Farm. knowing you could be saving money for the things you really want, like that dream house or ride, is a great feeling. That's why the State Farm Personal Price Plan can help you save when you choose to bundle home and auto. Bundling, just another way to save with a personal price plan.
Starting point is 00:00:44 Prices are based on rating plans that vary by state. Coverage options are selected by the customer. Availability, amount of discounts, and savings, and eligibility vary by state. On WhatsApp, no one can see or hear your personal messages. Whether it's a voice call, message, or sending a password. To WhatsApp, it's all just this. So whether you're sharing the streaming password in the family chat,
Starting point is 00:01:09 or trading those late-night voice messages that could basically become a podcast, your personal messages, stay between you, your friends, and your family. No one else. Not even us. WhatsApp. Message privately with everyone. This video is brought to you by Huell and Liquid Ivy. More on them in just a bit. Now, without further ado, none too. That's our next movie.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Love it. Another conjuring movie. We love them. That was, like, my favorite part of the whole movie. Me too. Because we love them. And, like, nothing does, that's not even against, I like her, too. And I like him, too.
Starting point is 00:01:49 But this freaking plot was. And Storm, I like, I wish we focused, there's so many characters. I wish we focused on the relationship between. Tysa and Storm between the two nuns, like the friendship there, but just when we start segmenting out with it, it's like the goat, and then it's the eyes, but then it's in Maurice, but then when Maurice sees the nun, it's in it, it's not in him, it's the nun that's coming out. Right. It was like, I think it just was trying to be spooky for spooky's sake, and a lot of it was
Starting point is 00:02:20 spooky. There was a ton of jump scares. It was a jump scares. I was really flipped by the cockroaches, as was Tara. Yep. There's a lot of moments when the nun turns into a bird and flies at us. Oh, God. But I just feel like there was kind of plot hole after plow hole.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Like, we saw a little girl get killed. Yeah, we did. Y'all never found her, never talked about it unless I missed it. No, nothing. Because I wasn't looking at the cockroaches. But then, like, even with the older woman who was found dead, I feel like it didn't lead to what I was. To anything. Yeah, there's just, there seemed to be, it seemed to be just different vignettes as opposed to, like, a through-line story.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Yeah. That's a good way to call it. It's like vignettes. It's as though they got in the writing room and they went, well, let's throw this in. We're going to kill this kid. That way the audience knows the demon is here. But then not follow up on it.
Starting point is 00:03:08 And then it's like, okay, all right. I want to see the girls get blamed for it. Yeah, me too. Like, and the same with the old lady, the white-haired lady in there getting killed. I thought maybe someone would have seen Frenchie leave that room, but it was only her. I thought maybe if he set up a kid to be a witness,
Starting point is 00:03:25 witness and she saw the white-haired lady tell frenchie to go back to his room then they're like it was frenchie i don't know would have provided some sort of link drama but it was so there it was this one was odd i mean and the fact that we found we found the eyes i get it the ram let us there that was cool with the light stuff like that but the eyes were separated i thought there's one here one there me too why were there two lasers going that way and then we found them they're both the eyes in one thing and also the demon wanted the eyes so why can't we just give the like that's what I thought we're going to do like an altar thing where you like you give it to him and then they get out and then he they get out of a Frenchie it's like oh I got what I want it then they then the
Starting point is 00:04:11 demon lives and you're trying to kill the demon you don't want to make it stronger but it was unclear I agree but it's already stronger now because it's got the freaking eyes we all knew it was going to end up there that's why we knew French he had the glow and then shoot when into the nuns and we're like okay you got your eyes you're all super powerful we assumed you were going to get them somehow but i agree with you there's a lot of plot points in here especially when the why did the little girl grab them and then why did she go to the tower i don't know there was no explanation why she went all the way to the top of the tower we didn't set that up it's not a good callback it's not where she said this is where i feel the safe is it's not like nobody said
Starting point is 00:04:53 this is where God can see you the most and protect you. It's in this tower. She just went up there. There was no real explanation for us. The director of this is Michael Chavez, again, he's the one who did The Conjuring, the Devil made me do it. He did the Curse of Lawyrona. He did a Billy Eilish music video, Barry a Friend,
Starting point is 00:05:09 which is excellent. This is somebody who is a very strong director. That's what I everything we've talked about is a story issue. Totally. It's a plot. It was a writing. So going to the writers. Yeah. Okay. Wow. this does have one two two three four five writers on it
Starting point is 00:05:29 oh well it's James Juan as a writer lists Gary Doberman as a writer and they're the franchise people so the only other three lighters Akila Cooper let's see um who did the screenplay for malignant and Megan okay and those ones are great what are these next people it's too many cooks and Richard did the autopsy of Jane Doe which I watched on this channel I don't know if you have seen that hasn't been really amazing It was so good, though. And it did for Eli. And then Ian Goldberg, let's see, what did you do?
Starting point is 00:06:01 Also, autopsy of Jane Doe and Eli. Oh, my God. It's too many cooks in the kitchen. It's all over the place. Like, what you said with the vignette, each one wrote a little thing. And they went, yeah, put it together. We need to deliver it quickly. In all fairness to this movie, I'm looking at the release date.
Starting point is 00:06:16 It's 2023. That's obviously a shot during COVID time period. Sure, sure. There was probably a lot of. different issues going on here i'm going to look right now i would agree with you on that probably issues filming production because this just didn't feel like none of the conjuring movies have this much of an issue this many plot holes this many things where they're like let's add in all of this and with absolutely not really much reasoning except for the eyes part we did get that little
Starting point is 00:06:45 tidbit of info in the beginning but just the way we handled it i don't yeah hmm great jump scares though of the movies filmed an actual abandoned church in France that's cool with the release of this film director Michael Chavez has now directed the most films within the conjuring including this curse of Lairona
Starting point is 00:07:05 Conjuring Devil made me do it I wonder how he feels about this one if he he had to have been probably in the edit bay but if he's like ah we couldn't I had despite being a Warner Brothers New Line film the
Starting point is 00:07:22 Nun 2 is the first in semi-pro to open with New Line Cinema logo. It is also the final film to feature Warner Brothers Blue Shield variant, which was shown at the end. That is not a good look for New Line. I'm just confused. I want to see the Rotten Tomatoes ranking of all these because maybe people don't feel the way that we do about this one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Reject Nation, it's a new year, and we want to start strong, right? And for me, that means finding simple ways to stay on track, especially when it comes to eating well. And that's why I've been loving, this is my own order, not one sent to me, H-U-E-L, that's on screen, right? I trust them a lot. A few months ago before partnering with them, I actually asked them to send me a few bottles.
Starting point is 00:08:10 That way I could make sure I like it before I talk about it. And yeah, I ended up loving it. And now I am a regular customer. I think I've spent more than they've paid me. Right now I'm down to my last bottle because Coy Gondro, You keep stealing my bottles. Anyway, here's why Huell's Black Edition Ready to Drink works for me.
Starting point is 00:08:26 It's a complete meal in a bottle packed with over 30 grams of protein and 27 essential vitamins and minerals. So you're not just filling up. You're fueling up. Perfect for busy mornings or when I don't feel like cooking or if I'm in a rush,
Starting point is 00:08:38 which is my life, just grab it, drink it, and you're good to go. And the taste, this is so important. Unlike a lot of other shakes, I know you've tried something. Huell actually tastes great. And my favorite, it's personally the chocolate.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Coy, I can't believe you took my last one. The chocolate, it's smooth, rich and low in sugar. I'm really particular about that too. So if you've been looking for a way to make eating healthier yet easier this year, Hewle it is. It's Hewell. It's horrible too, less than five bucks a bottle. Here's what you can do. You can go to Hewle.com and use code rejects for 15% off your first order plus a free gift. That's Hewle.com code rejects. Supporting them, does support the channel, but also supports your sexy bod. So starts your off strong with Hewle, it's quick, it's nutritious, and it actually tastes great. You'll want it in your routine.
Starting point is 00:09:19 John Jiro. Friends, you ever finish a workout feel amazing for a bit and then suddenly hit that wall? Or maybe you're just dragging throughout the day no matter how much water you drink. That's where today's sponsor comes in, a sponsor whose product I buy on the reg, and that is Liquid IV. I'm always excited to partner up with the brand whose product I already used. It's great about liquid IV as other stuff isn't just about hydration. It's about feeling better all around. Physically, it helps replenish electrolytes faster than water alone, so that way you recover quicker. That's very important, even if you exercise just a few times a week.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Mentally, it helps you stay sharp and focused instead of sluggish. And emotionally, feeling good starts with taking care of yourself, your temple, whatever you want to call this machinery that we use every day. And staying hydrated is a simple way to do that. Because I used to try the gallon of water a day thing, and sometimes you just can't hit that whole gallon and then fill with a big bloated belly. Anyway, here's why it works. One stick and 16 ounces of water hydrates better than water alone.
Starting point is 00:10:19 to their LIV hydroscience formula. It's got three times the electrolytes of sports drinks. Packed with essential vitamins like B12, vitamin C,
Starting point is 00:10:26 so it's not just hydration, it's energy and recovery in one and the flavors, especially their sugar-free raspberry lemonade and my favor. It's refreshing
Starting point is 00:10:36 zero sugar and feels like a treat. Whenever I take Liquid IV after a workout, I feel like it has made a big difference, especially during busy days. So if you want to feel better
Starting point is 00:10:44 and hydrate smarter, health care, go to Liquidiv.com and use code rejects. Take a 20% off your first order. Once again, that's liquid iv.com. Use code rejects to get 20% off your first order. Great way to support the channel is go check them out, but more importantly, it's supporting your health. Give it a try. I feel the difference, and I hope you will too.
Starting point is 00:11:03 I mean, yeah, let's see, because I am, I didn't, I didn't feel much from this and I was a little confused. It felt like it was all bad. Great jump scares. Spooky stuff. Don't get me wrong. It's just the plot polls were like, what's going on? All right, on Rotten Tomatoes, the number Number one is the conjuring at 86%. Number two, conjuring two at 80%. Number three, Annabelle Creation at 70%. Number four, Annabelle comes home at 64%. Number five, conjuring devil made me do it at 56%.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Number six, the nun two. Number seven, curse of law, Your Own. Oh, by the way, the nun two is 51%. Curse of Lawyerone is 26%. What? Annabelle at 28%. Mad confused. And the last place is the nun at 24%.
Starting point is 00:11:46 I don't agree with those. by that they put this middle of the pack to me this is that's this one's at the bottom but in all fairness and i am i'm glad we talked about this beginning we've been living through fires for 10 days i'm exhausted this was this was dragging yeah so there was different issues going on you know maybe if we were coming off of a trip to disneyland sure it would be a different viewing yeah like i mean that's why we're checking in now you know at the top and after we watch a movie like how's it make you feel how do we feel before because that's going to affect how we get into it but And there were some good jumps, man.
Starting point is 00:12:20 There were some good jumps and, like, you know, creepy kills and, you know, the cockroaches and the praying and all of that. But it just seemed a little convoluted for where I'm like, you don't need all of this stuff, I don't think. And I think let's get to the point. Why was it one hour and 50 minutes when it could have been 1.30? And I guarantee you we would have been like, eh, pretty good. Better. It was very long. And very long. Way too long. I think like what, why was nobody saying we can lose a lot of time here?
Starting point is 00:12:54 And there, nothing came to, nothing paid off with the bully girls at all. She just got the Ram thing, you know. Yeah. I mean, that was our payoff. But there was no character arcs either. Like you didn't get to see our main girl Sophie. We didn't get to see her stand up for herself. Nope. For like just, yeah, I think this one could have used some tweaks in the writer's room that could have made this for a really solid. story because I really liked Storm Reed's character. I liked her with our other lead girl and guy. Yeah, great chemistry. Good chemistry. I like their solid performances. Mm-hmm. Looked good. Sounded good. But we had a script issue here. We really did. And I think that's the main thing. Or in editing. I don't know. It could be both. I don't know. It could be cut a little weird with the pacing. But yeah, I don't, I think I like the curse of Yerona more than this and I think I definitely liked Annabelle more than this so that weird and I like
Starting point is 00:13:53 the first none better than this absolutely like this is I agree with you it's at the it's at the bottom I just was not as intrigued I was mainly looking at it as when is this going to pick up and then it didn't really so all right well we'll do our rankings check us out on social yeah and Tara anything else that you want to tell the people no I still happy to be here let us know what you guys think I mean if you love date cool let us know that's awesome I want you to like We want you to like it. We're just, we're always going to be honest with you. What franchise should we do next?
Starting point is 00:14:23 Yeah. We're leaning on you guys. Tell us. Okay. Later, rejects. Gabriel, you won, buddy. It's been a godless 2025 so far. David Lynch is dead.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Cities on fire. Various other people. Genote, Schweik died. I think that was his name. You know, it's been a weird time and we want you to recant your mission why do you say godless
Starting point is 00:14:53 because it was a fun segue into the one thing Gabriel wants us to focus on in these shoutouts because you know how we say godless sure and because of all the terrible things that are happening that's assuming if you're someone
Starting point is 00:15:09 who believes there's a god but views God as is all consistently benevolent God sure what if you actually believe in god but believe he's or she or it whatever is capable of massive destruction just because they're mad i mean that's the old testament god right it's just like oh yeah i mean yeah maybe somebody out there gabriel our atheist friend gabriel might be more upset because what if it is a god month it is an extra god my you failed gabriel if you had succeeded in your mission none of this would
Starting point is 00:15:50 happen right you know because at the end of bob yuker would still be alive if it wasn't for you at the end of the day i think in this world you get what you believe so if you believe you're if you believe there's a god and god does things for you and those things happen i'm like well you believe that you're like yeah god gives it to me and i'm like well i mean even if it's like a Christian view it's like well yeah that's what God says to do is to believe you'll get it and you'll get it so but also it's like what if you don't believe so there's a there's a there's I get you know I'm just saying the objective truth is sometimes not as important as the subjective truth that yeah never knows and guides you anyway um Gabriel uh cut it out
Starting point is 00:16:38 cut it out yeah whichever direction you're succeeding in stop it yeah Meager. We love you, Mazel tov.
