Starting point is 00:00:00 On WhatsApp, no one can see or hear your personal messages, whether it's a voice call, message, or sending a password. To WhatsApp, it's all just this. So whether you're sharing the streaming password in the family chat or trading those late-night voice messages that could basically become a podcast, your personal messages, stay between you, your friends, and your family. No one else, not even us. WhatsApp, message privately with everyone.
Starting point is 00:00:30 The Red Hot Clarence event is on right now at Burlington. And I'm excited for the markdowns. It's all about savings on top of savings throughout the store. This is when I stock up on styles from my closet, home decor, and much more, because there's up to 70% off other retailers' prices on clearance. I mean, I'm going every day because these prices, too hot to miss. Burlington. Deals, brands, wow.
Starting point is 00:00:53 Styles and selections may vary by location. This summer, try the new Strato Frappuccino blended beverage at Starbucks. It's the classic blended ice coffee you know and love, now topped with a creamy layer of handcrafted brown sugar cold foam. Available for a limited time. Your strato frappuccino is ready at Starbucks. Um, okay, are we ready for this? I'm ready for it.
Starting point is 00:01:17 I'm hanging on the edge of my seat. Let's do this eclipse, baby. Well done, David Slade. I'm like... Well done, Melissa Rosenberg. My insides are just like in knots and bows and hearts and butterflies. I mean, oh my God. All right.
Starting point is 00:01:45 Okay. All right. Okay. All right. Okay. All right. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Okay. Here's the thing. First of all, if you're listening on Apple or Spotify, make sure you give us that five star. Let us know how you feel. no less than five sparkling in the sun stars. Second of all, don't forget to like and comment. We need your comments because we've got to know what you guys are thinking. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:09 There's no spoilers. We're so close. I'll kill them. I'll kill him. I'll kill him. I didn't expect how fun of a ride this saga would be. Okay. And how many flavors it would throw at us.
Starting point is 00:02:21 That brings me to third of all. This is the best one, right? This is the best one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. For me, it goes this one, the first one, and then the second one. I'm with you. It's just like, listen, I love the first one, but this one, I feel like torn around. Like, I feel like I was paper mached into myself in this one.
Starting point is 00:02:44 I was in pieces and we glued me back together. This was so good. Yeah. Like to really, genuinely, here's what's unbelievable and you tell me how you feel. I watch a lot of Love Triangle stuff. A lot of love triangle of all different genres. The way that this one has me genuinely, like, understanding what's up and not hating any member of the triangle is maybe the first time I've ever felt that way. And allowing the triangle to experience those moments of friction where, like, certain characters will teeter on becoming unlikable, but you still are able to kind of come back and understand their motivation or what else in the triangle.
Starting point is 00:03:26 is sort of making all of this, you know, is sending everyone into a tizzy. It's like there are moments, especially when Jacob first kisses her where you're like, whoa, dude, stepping over the line. But like you still get it. And it's still for the pulp of everything, for the conflict of everything, you know, and the fact that, you know, she ultimately, there was a long time where I was sitting there going, like, I feel like she's playing this such that she's really only into Edward. But by the end, I was like, no, I get it, though.
Starting point is 00:03:56 I get how you love, you have this love for Jacob. It's not as strong, but he is picking up on something real. He's not just diluted. Right, right. Because for a little bit, I said to you, I was like, does she? But I think it's exactly how she finally verbalized in this one. She loves him. She just loves someone else more.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Yeah. And that is not a relatable feeling to me. I don't know what that's like, but it is a realistic feeling to me. Like, it's not like I don't believe her now. I think this is a struggle for her because I think she really does love them both. She just loves one of them more and she doesn't want to give up the other one.
Starting point is 00:04:33 Yeah, and then she's got that bond going back to childhood with Jacob whereas like with Edward obviously that's all the future stuff. I mean, that's the one like really clear line to me is sort of like, yeah, I don't see her ah, sorry the credits are playing. I know, I've kept the music on
Starting point is 00:04:50 because I was like we got to, I know. Heavy in your honor. I think this is the soundtrack I must have bought because this has the dead weather it's got the black keys it's got like vampire weekend and and florence and muse and all sorts of shit um that aside though i'm with you it's like yeah for for edward's life and for the vampire just world bell is like all in she's like yeah i want to be that whereas jacob yeah it's like it's more it's kind of the opposite like at the end she tells edward she's like yeah it's you but it's like
Starting point is 00:05:20 it's the world it's all of you guys this is where and how i feel most alive whereas like that's the limitation with her and Jacob it's like yeah I really care for you and there's something about our chemistry I cannot deny but your world isn't my world you know okay so this might be me giving way too much thought to this fun saga do it not that's what it's what it's for I don't know what's up with this imprinting thing I know I can't shut up about it but I have always thought there was more to Edward not being able to read Bella's mind sure why can't he read her mind and is it because somebody else is already imprinted on her like is jacob already imprinted on her from the time he was a kid so then she's already like spoken for
Starting point is 00:06:09 and that's why edward can't read her mind or or i don't know or i don't know i don't know like i knew when this is called eclipse i figured wolf eclipse vampire in somewhat Because, like, it's the moon, you know. Not bad, yeah. And this is the first time I'm really starting to wonder, even though I'm team Edward, is Jacob a better, like, okay, this is such an effed up comment. But we're only dealing in reality. It is what it is.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Let's go. Edward is going to outlive Jacob. Could she be with Jacob until Jacob dies and then go to Edward? I would love that. She would have to turn before that. She would have to turn before that. I would love of Breaking Dawn Part 1 is all about her and Jacob just living until they're like 70. No, she like frees her at like 30.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Sure. And then she lives with him until he dies. And then she goes with Edward for the rest of their lives. Yeah. That would be the most charitable thing. I understand I'm trying to have her have her cake and eat it too. So wait, would she be in vampire form at 30? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Okay. So at 30 she turns vamp. Yeah. Is that what we're talking? And then, okay. So she's with. Jacob for a little while she could grow up with somebody who's also growing alongside her, then turn vamp at 30, then live out the rest of Jake's life,
Starting point is 00:07:31 then go whenever once he's dead. I bet everyone to wait for that. I said what I said. I'm trying to make this a win-win for everybody. Like, Jacob's just not going to be here for that long. So, like, shouldn't we just? And also, have you seen him shirtless? Has anybody seen him?
Starting point is 00:07:48 I forget that we have seen him with a shirt. Okay, I have to ask you this. We've only seen Edward's shirtless like one time. I have to ask you this. Are you secure in Team Edward? Probably it's weird. I am more in the middle of the conflict than ever. I know how weird is that?
Starting point is 00:08:11 Yeah, yeah, right? I have more cause during this movie to be like, Jake, what are you doing, man? But at the same time, I can't deny that I am endeared to the both of them. When Jacob asked her, when she said, kiss me, when she asked her after saying she wasn't going to, and I was like, why do I want this so bad right now? Sure. And like, let's, like, Jacob can sleep with her and Edward can't while she's a human. And she deserves have human sex.
Starting point is 00:08:40 It's pretty great. It can be cool. It doesn't have it often for me. But when it does, I'm like, I want that for you too, Bella. I don't know what vamp sex is like. You've earned. Well, and by all fictional accounts, not that they're really adhering to most of the lore, the classic lore. But if there's one thing about vamps that endures across all media, it's that they're the steamyest of all crypto creatures.
Starting point is 00:09:04 I mean, like, yeah. Part of me was like, what do you mean when he's like, you know, you wouldn't be able to like, I can't remember the exact dialogue. But it was something about like, I'll tear you apart. Like, you know, you won't be able to withstand it. And I'm like, what does that mean? show me is it just too decadent or is it like are you gonna literally like eat her or rip her in half or something like what's up with your d like is it like gonna like cut through her literally like is it a knife and does it work because you don't have blood flow so does it work great question yeah but that oh i don't know i need the vampire
Starting point is 00:09:39 anatomy lesson as opposed to jacobu animal instincts okay so other than our big three who's your favorite character. Oh, man. Is still dad? Moustache Dad's my dude. Just like every time he shows up, man. And every scene is a quality scene with him. And I think they managed to take a character in Charlie who could easily be wrote or
Starting point is 00:10:05 annoying, like who could at best be, you know, just kind of their sort of wallpaper. And at worst could be kind of aggravating. And he's neither. I love all of his scenes. I get where he's coming from. and he plays that sort of like, I'm doing my best, I'm out of my element,
Starting point is 00:10:20 and I care about you. And I don't quite fully know how to communicate this to you, but I'm trying. And I love that flavor on it. Like this movie had a lot of scenes that I liked a lot between characters. Just characters talking about stuff.
Starting point is 00:10:35 I like the debate of the whole time. Tenth scene. Tense scene. Through various people's eyes, people being like, hey, Bella, I mean, just think about the other facets of your life. Like, Rosalie, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:48 What did you make of the mom scene? Like, we were just getting so little of the mom in this series, but she's in every moot, like, sprinkled in for a few minutes. Her presence is there. And I'm curious what ends up happening with her. Like, are we keeping her along for the ride because we're going to kill her? Are we keeping her because she's got a big thing to do in the last book? Like, what's up with the mom?
Starting point is 00:11:07 Does she go to live there? I don't know. Like, I feel like the mom is just a non-factor sometimes. Definitely, yeah. I mean, I was sort of surprised in this movie. that we got a full scene with her and like Edwards is there chilling in the background like I like that they prioritized like yeah this is just an opportunity for Bella to go spend some real quality time with her mom once again and I liked even though we never almost ever see them
Starting point is 00:11:32 have we ever seen her and Charlie together like I still believe the remnants of the old relationship that this is yes her mom and her dad and I could see how they both kind of you know make her make her yeah and and I honestly honestly honestly, have no idea if we'll see the mom again. I feel like she served a functional purpose here. But also, I like that from a character standpoint, like, to me, they didn't have to do that. And they didn't have to put a scene around that. And so, like, I have no prediction.
Starting point is 00:12:03 I almost expect to never see her again. But I'm also happy that we did. And I'm happy we saw the friends again. Anna Kendrick's speech really got me. I liked that. I think Alice might be my favorite other character. I really like her. Alice is great. I like that she brought her man back down to Earth when he was about to be just a vicious monster forever.
Starting point is 00:12:23 I think that her skill set is the most useful for us plot-wise. And she's sweet and cute in Bella's corner. And then she goes to Charlie's to talk to him. And I was like, oh, is that a vibe? And then I was like, oh, no, you're with that other guy. But like, okay. I'm just always trying to ship everybody. I can't even help it.
Starting point is 00:12:43 I ship her and Charlie. He deserves love. I hope by the end, if nobody else, I just want Charlie to find love by the end. Is it possible? He says he still believes in marriage, so. That was an interesting facet. And I appreciate it as a character beat with Edward, but also that was maybe the one debate where I was a bit like, I don't know. I feel like there's still a lot of back and forth you could do on this, the whole thing of like, I will not do any of this until we are married.
Starting point is 00:13:12 I know. because I am just very committed to marriage. I know. I feel like I'm going to get some heat in the comments for this. But it's again, it's not that Edward said, I am sorry as I am not comfortable sleeping with somebody when I'm not married to them. He said, I am not comfortable with you not sleeping with somebody until you're married to them
Starting point is 00:13:35 because then of your virtue. It's like if it had been his own thing, fine. Like you're allowed to have anything, any of your own values you're allowed to instill at any time any age even as a hundred and something if he didn't feel comfortable sleeping with her until he was married that's fine but like telling her what to do how to feel but then being like let's get married let's get married let's get married it was just a lot but also I feel like these are the things if I was a teenager I wouldn't have even cared about him and like he's so hot I'd be part of it to me enhances
Starting point is 00:14:05 the fantasy of just how much you know the the the fantasy of like this this artitular character who you get to project yourself into is being sort of like is the epitome of these two people's focus and you know this guy like with edward it's always just all consuming it's like he wants to be the most of everything with her because that's just the extent of his love so we have to be married and i i you know like i get the sweep of that um part part of part of i guess the inside baseball part of my brain is i know i i believe stephanie meyer's like Mormon or something like that and I feel like this was a moment to insert something like that into us have him talk about his own yeah that's the thing is because through it's like both Bella's like yeah mom already gave me the talk dad tries to give her the talk about protection clearly this isn't the most religious or restrictive household socially and Bella's like it's fine like this is what I yeah I'm cool with this is what I want and she's like dad I'm a virgin and I'm like again, for those, you know,
Starting point is 00:15:12 choose whatever you want for yourself. For folks who for whom marriage is the thing and for whom by extension waiting till marriage is the thing, like that's beautiful. Absolutely, do your thing. But yeah, it seemed, it was the one element that never seemed like
Starting point is 00:15:26 it really resolved between her wants and needs and his wants and needs. And it seemed more like literally him just going like, this is what I'm okay with from my past growing up as a southern dandy or whatever. And so like, it definitely read as an, I'm not comfortable making love until we're married kind of thing rather than I care about you. Because the whole time she's just like, sure, whatever, you know.
Starting point is 00:15:47 And he's not being forthcoming about if there is some kind of physical reason why this is a dangerous idea. You can just like spell it out for us. Yeah, he hints at it, but I didn't really get into that. This movie is interesting too moving forward because we killed Victoria. We did. Which means like she was our big bad other than Voltori. And we'll see what happens with them moving forward. You can't trust the vampire government.
Starting point is 00:16:12 But, you know, it's kind of like, okay, we took care of that. Now we got to take care of this. But what is like, it seems like now with the heads of the wolves and the vamps and forks kind of aligned, are we going to see more fighting between those two? Or are they going to stay united in moving forward in our next two movies to try to take out the bigger bads coming in? a lot of questions it's got to be like a big Voltory versus whatever I think so too
Starting point is 00:16:43 or the werewolves are going to get involved and he has something with the Volturi and there's yeah Arlo or whatever the guy is that Michael Sheen whatever he wasn't here they were like oh we were watching him I was he filming another movie
Starting point is 00:16:57 would happen yeah yeah and so I I don't know I hope he comes back and they seem to be hinting that like he's got his own agenda so like there's certainly stuff There's certainly unresolved stuff with the Volturi Who seemed like now they must be the big bad And there's also the unresolved stuff with
Starting point is 00:17:12 They made so much out of imprinting in this movie And gave us no real concrete thing So how is that going to rear its head in the future? And what are the next two movies going to look and feel like? Music, music for sure That's the one consistent thing The two consistent things is great music And there's muse on the soundtrack somewhere
Starting point is 00:17:33 But across this, but across this, Yeah, I really enjoyed the way they kept the debate going around Bella's choice without making it too hammy. Like, it always felt kind of natural in the scenes that they were doing. I liked the portrayal of the uneasy alliance back and forth with the wolves. I thought the wolves looked really good this time. The wolves looked sick. Yeah, and I think David Slick, like, I really like what Catherine Hardwick brought to the mood and the feel of the first movie. She had a lot of heavy lifting to do.
Starting point is 00:18:05 Absolutely. And she had to set all this shit up, essentially. And I'm sure with a much smaller budget than this had. Definitely. And so now that this is a juggernaut, I do think, you know, somebody like David Slade, at least as demonstrated by this, I thought he managed to, you know, they kicked off the movie with all that rain and that and the thing with Riley Beers. And that I was like, okay, you know, I remember from back in the day people dogging these
Starting point is 00:18:28 because they borrow so much from horror lore and they're not really doing that. So this one was like, okay. So we're adding a little more edge to the horror stuff and just generally to the action. The effects sequences are shot more convincingly and with more punch. But I didn't think they ever lost the aspects that do need to be a bit gosier and a bit more romance novella. And, you know, when they're sitting in the flower field and it's all these long lenses and soft focus and warm light and like all the moments in bed where it's intimate. it like there was style paid to every aspect of the movie and i think this one i think this new moon was like two hours and 15 or two and a half hours something it was it was long and it felt kind of long
Starting point is 00:19:14 whereas this movie is like two hours and a little change and i wanted to be so much longer and i wanted to be longer and it moved really nice and uh and yeah like this movie honestly i'm not like exaggerating i'm not just saying i thought this movie was excellent yeah like i really thought this movie was excellent I was shocked I thought that I was going to think that this one was like because usually in the middle of everything it's like but this had so much happening so much that I wanted so much that I didn't know that I wanted and then it happened and I was like I've been dying for that moment I love her with with Edward so we got a lot of that yeah I was tempted by Jacob we got a lot of that and like every other character we know now where they stand what their thoughts are we got more
Starting point is 00:19:57 of Rosalie's backstory, which was heartbreaking, but makes us understand why she's been so harsh to Bella. Like, a lot of questions were answered. Yeah, me too. And then more questions have come up. I cannot wait for the fourth one. Yeah. And like they had these flashbacks in this one, like with him in the Civil War.
Starting point is 00:20:16 I got questions about the fact that he's like a Confederate soldier. But like, you know, you're back in the Civil War. We have follow up questions to that. And, you know, you get the flashbacks to like the massacre. of the, you know, the werewolf tribe, like back in colonial time and whatnot, like, I don't know, there's so many other facets, like this, this managed, I think, to continue the tone and all obviously the story beats and stuff from the previous one in a way that felt natural, but this added more stylistic elements that I think made it, like, I don't know, in a romance like
Starting point is 00:20:49 this, I think you want a requisite amount of heart on sleeve, a little bit of camp, a little bit cheese. Yeah. But I found myself in this movie, you know, in the first two, there's certainly an amount of accounting for like, sometimes I'm enjoying the meme and sometimes I'm genuinely enjoying a romance because I am a fan of that too. Whereas here I was way less, you know, there's amusing stuff, obviously, and there are things that do have to be bleeding a heart and that's absolutely appropriate.
Starting point is 00:21:21 But here I thought it managed to rarely feel cheesy. It was so good. Yeah. It was so good. Let us know what you guys think, rejects. Just tell us all your thoughts, man. Like, I'm going to, I really look forward. I'm going to read your comments like a book.
Starting point is 00:21:37 Yeah. I got to know everything. This was such a cool surprise. Yeah, really and truly. Any final thoughts from Ron Joxi? Oh, no. Just, you know, imprint on us. Make it so that whatever that means.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Like this video. imprint yourself on the like button. Leave a comment. share this with somebody who needs a little love in their life. Great point. Okay, later, rejects. Love you. Guito Galindo.
Starting point is 00:22:05 This month, we are going out of our way to tell everyone in the world that whichever patron we're shouting out, which celebrity they most remind us of. And from the vast encyclopedic knowledge that we have about you, Guantico Lindo. Too much. It's very obvious which celebrity you remind us up the most. Dr. Phil. Dr. Phil, your mustache alone, and that chrome dome. You're someone that you seem like you have so much knowledge and insight about people.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Guided. Yet you're so, like, aggressive and insensitive, despite the fact that you clearly know how humans work. You provide tough love. And while you seem to be out there being progressive, next thing you know, where you're mainly hanging out in Republican camps. You know, you've got to make money. You confuse us in the paths that you take Guido-Gilindo, but we don't- But not in the supplements we take from you.
Starting point is 00:22:59 But in the path that you walk here, that's the only path that matters to us. Republican, Democrat, narcissistic, empath, doesn't matter which one. I'm a Galindocrat. As long as Galindo is here at the Patreon. That's what counts the most, my friend. Absolutely. Wait, which celebrity is Guito again? Go to Dr. Phil?
Starting point is 00:23:20 Dr. Phil? That's right. See, the thing is, Dr. Phil, is you've given us so many other celebrities. Like, you're a stepping stone for so many prominent figures. Bad baby in our life, you know. Is that where a bad baby come from? Yes, not bad bunny, but bad baby. Not seeing Guito Galindo is Dr. Phil.
Starting point is 00:23:41 San Guido reminds me of Dr. Phil. Guido's creating by exploiting the... We're not shouting out Dr. Phil. No, I know, but... By exploiting the people around... Guito Galindo, you know, Guito Galindo makes, your name is so fun to say. By exploring the people around them, that's how they, you know, bring more people to prominence. It's how you share the wealth with the world, you know?
Starting point is 00:24:04 Okay. It keeps your business going and it keeps us entertained. I've caught on. Your shoutout is me explaining the joke thread that I was trying to go to for to Greg in the funniest way possible. It's a deconstructed shoutout. And I hope you like it because it's avant-garde. That means it's smart. Like you.
Starting point is 00:24:25 Like Dr. Phil. We can end it now, John. We can end it now, John.
