Starting point is 00:01:02 Everyone, shout the time we're going to be on the stream. One! The schedule's down below. Keep a look out. The schedule is down below. One thing that we've heard about this is that there is some semblance of a controversial Jamie Lindsay. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Jamie Lee Curtis? Oh, yeah, yeah. Jamie Lee Curtis. scene. See, that's a little I know about it. I didn't even know Jamie Lee Curtis was in this movie. I just knew it was Arnie until 30 seconds ago when Greg was like, oh, that controversial scene and I was like, what controversial
Starting point is 00:01:40 scene? I just know Arnold's in this and James Cameron, who's done some maybe some other movies here and there, did this apparently, and it's acting comedy. That's two hours and 21 minutes. That's long for an action comedy, but I'm ready for it. Greg said it was James Cameron, an action comedy. I go, what else has he done? Like, I was an action
Starting point is 00:01:55 comedy, and he was like, oh, Avatar Titanic. And I was Like, Greg, I know what movies James Cameron made. I mean, what other action comedy movies? God damn, Greg. All right. Are we ready to do this? I'm ready.
Starting point is 00:02:09 All right. Tell me lies. Tell me true little lies. Here we go. How are you feeling? I'm feeling good. I'm feeling good. That was a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:02:20 You guys go over to... I'll tell them. I will. I swear. Go ahead. Do tell them. I know you don't like me resting on your arm. I'm going to rest on my lap here.
Starting point is 00:02:31 No, it's only because it moves my chair every time you do it. That's right. So I was, I was wiggling, jiggling. But I, here's, this is behind the scenes how the sausage made. What I like to do is do general thoughts, like how you feel and then tell them what to do. So we hook them and then we like hook line and sync. Okay. You know, that was the game plan.
Starting point is 00:02:51 But now we can just tell them. Now tell them where to go. Okay. Now that they know the secret. Now you know the secret. You know all the sausage secrets. Go to Apple and Spice. so you can listen to this conversation because we've got some thoughts on this movie uh yes what
Starting point is 00:03:05 i thought about the movie i thought it was a lot of fun that was a lot of fun while you're doing the apple spotify stuff though don't forget follow us over on social we're doing a ton of stuff over there so facebook Twitter Instagram TikTok uh real rejects the stuff is popping off everybody's recording so much stuff every week um all of us are on there like a thousand times and we're talking about our favorite all different kinds of movie related stuff it's like different content that you're seeing here so please go over and support and also rejectation shop.com there's a bunch of cool shirts like these uh we got some sheijs sweaters um there was that sick uh robert dine junior drop that happened that's right that's new live long enough to see yourself become villain that's really cool
Starting point is 00:03:51 so make sure you head over there okay tell me now tell me lies tell me sweet little lies you liked it loved it want some more of it two truths don't line give me more give me more. I thought it was great. I thought the chemistry was good. And Jamie Lee Curtis is not an American treasure. I can spot the life from a mile away. That's right. Because she is, of course, an American treasure, a global treasure. I thought this was so much fun. I think that it was it ran a little long. It was. But it was confident in its choices. And I was never, even though it was running long. It was keeping me on my toes. It wasn't like ha ha funny the whole time, but it was goofy and silly and lighthearted while also being really entertaining, action-packed, six set
Starting point is 00:04:40 pieces, unbelievable explosions, loved the chemistry. I'm a lover, love ship or ships. So I really liked watching Harry and Helen kind of come back together. I wish that we got a little more with that truth serum or after of her being like, so are we good? Like, yeah, he seemed very unaffected after. He just told the truth he's very like arnie's very like that right he kind of has that unaffected performance style where he's just very stoic usually yeah so it's kind of like the keanu thing too where i was like wait your wife is going to get killed can you have so emotions about this but he's just so funny and strong so yeah this was definitely for me yeah no i thought it was for me too i think that granted i the action was really great in the beginning but i feel like emotionally i didn't get invested in two but i We started to get into the supposed infidelity with Bill Paxson and whatnot, even though it wasn't infidelity. But, yeah, their relationship really made the movie. And the action was great even before that point. I did find there to be parts that were pretty funny, but it wasn't going out of its way to stop to be funny.
Starting point is 00:05:45 It just had moments that were naturally either part of the characters or part of the action or some of the over-the-top things just made it funny for me. Like what was to you, I know it's hard to think about, but what were the funniest moments? I know the biggest laugh you did was when the dog's heads got knocked. The dog's heads were really funny. The guy getting shot through the building and the missile was really funny to me. So in the action, not the dialogue, but in the action was where you found the humor. No, and some of the dialogue scenes as well, like when Arnold was, I think, talking to Bill Paxton's character and like he was just like looking at him. I thought that was funny.
Starting point is 00:06:21 And then like just his big eyeed expression when he had the mask on it, that was funny. We got to figure out where you're fired originally comes from. And if Donald took it from here, excuse me, President Donald. President Trumpy, whatever. Okay, let me give you some trivia on this, too, but keep you. Trivia me. But I thought it was a lot of fun. We didn't get to see Charlton Heston come back for much.
Starting point is 00:06:48 He came through a couple times, but we didn't get to see him come back towards the end, which I thought we were going to. He was in the iPatch, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay. I only seen Planet of the A's once. But didn't you think we were going to see him kind of like re-emerge towards the end? Yeah, I'm surprised that they didn't. I mean, they couldn't get him for shooting or something. I mean, it's pretty unbelievable that they got him in general.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Did you ever see Ben Her, the original? No. Actually, I don't think I've seen much. I think I only seen Planet of the Aves. That's the only thing I've seen him. Ten Commandments? Never seen Ten Commandments. Oh, damn.
Starting point is 00:07:19 I got to watch more. I got to see when he. Okay, he passed away in 2008. I guess I wonder what his last stuff that he was working on was In 2003 he did a movie My father
Starting point is 00:07:30 Um Wow Came back for Planet of the Apes in 2001 Oh damn Any given Sunday in 99 Armageddon In 98 He's an Armageddon?
Starting point is 00:07:44 Narration Okay Okay Yeah he was like I'll send you guys my voice But nothing else So he worked through the 90s in true lies in 94 okay we worked through the 90s though uh okay let's see i i specifically want to
Starting point is 00:08:04 look up this donald trumping but first let me just give you some trivia from true lies before i become legitimately obsessed who knows maybe it will be in here uh okay when harry tells gib that helen is having an affair what is tom ronald's character give jib i don't even remember hearing Gibby? I don't know. Gibb tells a story about his second wife taking everything when she left him, even the ice cubes trays from the freezer. This is direct reference to Tom Arnold's divorce from Roseanne Barr. That was happening at the same time. She was reported to have taken his ice cube tray when she left him as well. Arnold told the story to James Cameron on set while saying, what kind of sick bitch takes the ice cube trays out of the freezer? Cameron thought the line was hilarious and incorporated it into the film. That is funny. That's awesome. Arnold Schwarzenegger's biggest challenge for the movie was not doing all the physical stunts but dancing a tango
Starting point is 00:08:58 So he did do all the physical stunts He had to take dancing lessons to realistically perform this dance He rehearsed the scene for about six months As he wanted to make sure he was as good at the tango As Al Pacino Incent of a woman That is amazing that that was the hardest part for him Another movie I haven't seen or heard of actually
Starting point is 00:09:18 Arnold Schwarzenegger Never heard of it? No Whoa, you got to watch Scent of a Woman. I take it. You like that movie? I do.
Starting point is 00:09:27 I haven't seen it I think since I was like, I feel like 10, which is way too early to watch that movie. Is it right at all? Yeah. I haven't seen it in a really long time, but it's like a
Starting point is 00:09:41 can we call 90 movies classic? Yeah, and over 20 is a classic. A definite classic. Okay. Arnold Schwarzenegger had a near fatal accident on set during the horse riding scene when his horse got startled and ran out of control. Schwarzenegger managed to slide off the horse but did this near a 30-foot drop off. His personal stuntman saw what happened and was able to grab him before he went over the ledge. Holy shit. That's
Starting point is 00:10:11 crazy. Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn't supposed to drop the tape recorder. James Cameron liked it and kept it in. That's cool. That's funny. I love that. The set of bra and matching panties worn by Helen Tasker during the striptease scene where Jamie Lee Curtis's own. Curtis rehearsed the scene extensively with director James Cameron and it was there and then that he felt in love that the fall she makes in the middle of the dance was conceived. It wasn't happened, it didn't happen spontaneously during the rehearsal or the actual shooting as it often claimed. Okay, so they decided on it. Arnold Schwarzenegger was not told of this beforehand and this is hinted at. when Harry briefly sits up in alarm realizes that he is breaking character and then relaxes.
Starting point is 00:10:57 So we probably thought she really fell. They did another take with the same gag, but Harry's reaction didn't look as spontaneous. Okay, Tom Arnold didn't expect to get a role in the movie and went to the audition mostly for the chance to meet director James Cameron. He did some scenes with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Cameron immediately noticed the chemistry between the two actors. afterwards Tom joked Yeah totally Tom joked to Cameron That Schwarzenegger's not that big
Starting point is 00:11:25 I think I can take them Which greatly amused Cameron And sealed the deal Initially 20th century Fox Objected unbeknownst to Cameron Tom's reputation at the time Wasn't positive Mostly due to his controversial public antics
Starting point is 00:11:38 With then wife Roseanne Barr That makes sense When Cameron threatened I don't know anything about that Vote apart About their public antics Well you know a lot about Roseanne Barr now.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Yeah. So you just can imagine the... But the way that it was framed was like... They went through like crazy stuff, like public tabloids and stuff. Yeah, yeah. Like tumultuous. When Cameron threatened to take the movie elsewhere, if he couldn't cast Tom Arnold, they relented. When Tom later learned this, he was grateful to Cameron, of course, for taking a chance on him.
Starting point is 00:12:10 He became a good friend of Schwarzenegger and Cameron afterwards. James Cameron can be heard as the helicopter pilot who says, Yeah, she's got her head in his lap. Yahoo. What a nice cameo for James Cameron. The U.S. government supplied three marine harriers and their pilots for a fee of 100,000, wow, 2,410 per hour. Dr. James Cameron said that he filmed the shot from Harry Tasker's helicopter of the jets flying by with the pilots keeping a mandatory distance from the helicopter. Cameron then asked if they could fly by again a bit closer after long pause. Both pilots confirmed and did as, they were told. Cameron then asked the pilots that they could do it again, but even closer,
Starting point is 00:12:52 knowing that this would officially violate safety precautions. There was a very long pause, but again, both pilots obeyed. And this is the shot that ended up in the film. Wow. Dangerous. A-ve-dangerous as hell. E-vey. I want to see if I see anything about, you're fired.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Let me see if I can try to look it up. You're fired. You're fired. You're fired. that's what you got I like what you said it you're fired true lies
Starting point is 00:13:23 oh ooh um what is a famous line from true lies so I guess it's a famous line from here
Starting point is 00:13:32 you're fired it's time for Arnold Schwarzing and genuinely I wonder why he said I don't know how to find this answer Siri why did he say you're fired
Starting point is 00:13:42 in true lies who's are you talking to I don't know I just hope I want to answer Oh, I think you have to say, hey, before you talk to her, right? Hey, Siri. My phone, your phone, my phone, your phone.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Mine won't listen to you. Is it programmed to your voice? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think so. I think so. Oh. I can't tell. When did Donald Trump start saying you're fired? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Before we look up that, I want to just add, I thought the chemistry was great in the movie between Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. I think they were a very believable couple, in spite of the fact that, you know, they typically show up in different genre movies. I don't think I've ever seen Jamie Lee Curtis an action movie before this. But she was great. I thought she was very believable. She was very natural.
Starting point is 00:14:28 She was such a great job in the Halloween movies. She's so, so kick ass. Oh, man. I need to watch that franchise. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm sure that that's probably like a big prerequisite to this because that was in the 70s. Wow.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Late 70s. So I'm sure he was like, yeah, she can kick some ass. I'm not seeing anything about Donald Trump with you're fired, which is crazy. Well, why don't you always tell us in the comments? We don't know. Why does he turn to him and says you're fired? Because he fired him like a missile. No, I know.
Starting point is 00:14:59 But just like the way he does it and like zooms in, is that the first time we've heard that? Because you said you think he took it from Trump. I think he did take it from Trump. So that's what I'm asking them. I don't think so. Well, maybe you guys let us know. When did the Apprentice start? That'll go with some.
Starting point is 00:15:16 Way, way, way later than that. When I did The Apprentice. Did you not watch a grown-up? I did not. Apprentice start. I loved Celebrity Apprentice. I watched that with my mom. It wasn't four?
Starting point is 00:15:29 That's when I started. Damn. Yeah, yeah, way, way, later. Okay. Well. But you were saying that you think that that was something he said before the apprentice. I have to imagine. He's just like just firing people left and right.
Starting point is 00:15:40 They're like, I like the way you say that. Trump, start saying it on TV. That would be crazy. Yeah. I don't know. No, you and I are on different pages about that, but we're on the same page about this movie, which we loved. If you guys loved it, too, let us know in the comments.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Plus, if there's something else you want to see Aaron and I watch, let us know that in the comments. Plus, anything else that you feel like telling us, as long as it's nice. We appreciate it. So much love to you guys, and we'll see you next time. Later, Rejects. Tyler Haig, and I'm always telling John,
Starting point is 00:16:13 if there's anyone who I'd love to secretly get into a hotel room and have them strip dance for me. Without them knowing that they're doing it for me, but they're thinking they're doing it for some bigger thing to protect themselves, I've always said it should be Tyler Hague. If there's anyone to exploit. If there's anyone to sexually exploit, it's going to be Tyler Hague. Man, oh, man, I cannot wait to see you dancing around.
Starting point is 00:16:39 You'll do anything. He'll do anything for us. As long as you just give him a little bit of a little boost, he'll be a little pat on the back. You can hear it. My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. They're like, it's better. Yeah, we'll bring back the 2000s joke, man. The 2000s.
Starting point is 00:16:55 And it's going to be great, man. Absolutely. We're going to do with us to watch Tyler dance, smack his ass around. It's going to be awesome. We'll draw you like one of our French girls. Yeah. Yeah. Pose like that.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Avatar. Anyway, Tyler, man, I hope you're doing well. I hope you're dancing it up all night long. And I hope you have a fantastic Labor Day weekend. Oh, yeah. Go into life. labor on a Labor Day weekend. If anyone can do it, be the first man. Have a Hague baby. Be you. Love you, Tyler. Love you, buddy.
