When the frustration grows and the doubts start to creep in,
we all need someone who has our back.

Well,
hello there,
Citizens of the
Reject Nation,
Roxy and
Greg are here
at IMA's
headquarters right now.
What did we
just watch,
Roxy?
F-fricken
one.
When I saw
a trailer for this,
I was like,
Okay, I got to watch this on IMAX because I saw the trailer in IMAX.
This is shot for IMAX, the format it's meant to be seen in, as you know, massive shill.
You're the IMAX guy.
I would love for that to be my reputation.
If I die, I would love to be like, he loved IMAX.
You don't wrap anything the way you wrap IMAX.
No, no, but that doesn't mean a movie's good just because it's shot with eye.
It usually elevates a movie.
Leave a like on this video, by the way.
So, look, I didn't even know what F1.
was like i didn't know about the as a sport i didn't know about any of that so i don't
close to nothing when it comes to racing i had no idea like oh this is kind of like a whole
worldwide thing that they got going on here i had no idea about jack it certainly is Greg um i'm a
huge sports girl in general f1 is not my thing but i have so much respect for formula one because
you see what they do you see what kind of athletes they have to be i'm a little more familiar than you
perhaps. However, I don't know the rules and regulations. And I actually feel like this movie did an
amazing job for people like you and me who don't know what's going on of making sure that we
were very much in the know in a not annoying way. Yes. Yes. That's one of the big positives about
this movie. So I'll try to explain the plot as someone who doesn't know what the hell this sport is
really about, even though I was able to follow the movie the entire time. Brad Pitt is kind of like
an old timer. He's never really won the F1 before. Now he's brought it to F1.
won by his friend, Javier Bardem, and they all need to rise to this, this, uh, this challenge here.
And there's 30 years of not racing.
And then there's this new guy.
It's named Damon Idris.
I believe that's the actor's name.
Yeah. And he's like a young hotshot guy.
And Brad Pitt is like, oh, I kind of know what I'm doing.
And I'm a little bit of like the American rebel.
And, but it's all about teamwork.
This whole movie is about teamwork more than just them as a team learning to work together.
It's like everyone.
The other guys when they, when they have to like put the car.
and the tires back together.
It's even about them.
I was so surprised
by how much of an ensemble
this movie was
with Brad Pitt as the lead,
but Roxy,
what are your feelings on this film?
What are your first thoughts,
your feelings?
So I heard from people
that this was actually
one of the best movies of the year
and I was like,
F1?
F1 is going to be
one of the best movies of the year.
Are you telling me that?
And it didn't really make sense
to me because this is kind of,
it felt like a popcorn movie
the way that it was advertised.
I just felt like it was going to be
a fun summer blockbuster.
but now I completely understand why they're saying it
and it is absolutely without a doubt
one of the best movies of the year.
I think because of the heart
and like you spoke about, the teamwork,
the teamwork element makes this
more than just about one man's journey.
It makes it about the sacrifices we make,
the mistakes we make along the way,
how we use those to become either better or bitter
and to help other people avoid the mistakes that we've made.
I just think that the plot was simple
and yet very complex, because every character's motivation was a little bit different, and I think that they were all relatable, which is hard to do in a movie like this.
I fully, fully agree with you. When I saw the trailer for this, I was excited by the racing. It looked formulaic in terms of the plot.
And while it is formulaic in the plot, this was an exciting, rousing time, moving. There is so much racing.
in this film. And yet, it never becomes numb. It actually gets more exciting, even though it starts
exciting, remains exciting, and continues to get more exciting till the very last race of this movie.
It's kind of a long movie. Doesn't feel its length. What'd you think of Brad Pitt, man?
Oh, gosh. Well, first of all, Greg, that's such a solid point about the amount of racing that there is,
because with Brad Pitt at the helm of that, but a lot of sports movies, I think, are afraid to be a
sports movie. And so they really don't focus on the actual sport that they're showing. They
focus on the characters. This is at least half of the movie. We're on the race track.
It's a good balance. Yeah. Because the plot is also like the character development and the
plot is driven a lot during the races as well. Pun intended. Yeah. That's the kind of vibe this
movie is this tone that we're striking. Yeah. Yep. Okay. So Brad Pitt, though, I think that he's
perfect. I think he's perfect. You know, it's not a surprise that this is the same team that did
Top Gun Maverick, the director and the cinematographer, because this felt very much like how they let Tom
Cruz lead that ship and also be a mentor to all of these up-and-comers. They let Brad Pitt do the same
thing. And I was thinking about this, it's been a long time since I saw Brad Pitt in a movie and I was
like, yeah, I love that Brad Pitt movie. But growing up, he was the it guy. Oh, this bug around
G, what are you going to do?
I'm trying to ignore it.
And act like it's not in front of my face right now is what I'm trying to.
Imagine you were in a car right now racing.
You can't flinch because of the bug.
Oh, no.
I would totally destroy the 405 freeway right now.
He did what Tom Cruise did for Top Gun Maverick.
Brad Pitt does for this movie.
And I think they needed a real star because the rest of the people you might recognize
from one thing or another.
But we'll Javier Barnab.
But the two of them are the only like A-list names in this.
Reject Nation. I've been following a specific macro plan all year. Well, at the end of January. At the end of January, I weighed 218 pounds. Here's a photo.
And as of this week, I'm down to 173, and here's a good lighting photo.
It's coming in. I'm so close. I got to do a photo shoot. Anyway, part of any of my goals means being extra intentional about what I put into my body. And one of those things that's helped me stay on track is this little bad boy right here.
this is huell's black edition ready to drink cheers it's a full meal in a bottle i just love
chocolate this is such a good chocolate drink it's packed with 35 grams of protein 27 essential
vitamins or minerals slow release carbs and very important for me it's low in sugar diabetes
and heart disease runs in my family so i have to be extra careful when it comes to stuff like
that and this drink keeps me fueled not just full yeah nice girls kind of
kind of all over the place. I'm working, filming, working out. So I need something that's quick,
convenient, reliable, that won't sabotage my progress. And the taste, legit, it is smooth. I just want
to keep drinking it and not talk to you right now. It doesn't have that chalky thing that a lot of
those shakes have. You know what I'm talking about. And they got a variety of different flavors.
Chocolate is still my favorite one. And it's great that Hew shipped around 500 million meals
around the world. So if you're trying to stay dialed in like myself or just save time while

fitness journey this really showcases that brad pitt truly is a movie star he really is he loved him
too. I loved him in this film. He is, he's got that, like, cool guy laid back thing that Brad Pitt has, but he could feel like this pain underneath. I felt like a passion from him in this movie that I haven't quite seen in him in a while. Do you think he related to the character at all? I think there's, like, specific things that they expositionally throw out there. I'm like, sounds like this is a personal thing for Brad Pitt that he's doing right now. Yeah, yeah, definitely, definitely. I think there's 100% ways to liken it to him. And what you were saying,
about the director, Joseph Kaczynski, with his direction.
I actually feel like this might have been even more personal for him than Top Gunn
because Top Gun is like a legacy sequel.
You really know that when Tom Cruise is involved, it's very much a Tom Cruise production.
Whereas I noticed that this story was by Joseph Kaczynski.
There's this perfect blend, how we liken Edgar Wright, to choosing soundtracks or James Gunn for
soundtracks.
The soundtracks in this movie feel very specifically calculated and chosen, edited to it.
Not to mention Hans Zimmer does the score.
Whilst the Hans Zimmer score, feeling,
a little bit like what Daft Punk did with Trong Legacy or Harry Gregson Williams.
Like he actually uses a little bit more electronics this time around, which is very fitting
for the movie.
The rest of the cast, like him and Javier Bar, damn, have incredible chemistry.
So good.
They're so freaking good together in this movie.
Let me ask you this.
This is what I thought about the second this ended, which I can't believe I'm asking this
question.
Do you think this is going to be nominated for Oscars?
I feel like there's plenty to nominate for.
I don't feel like script-wise probably not.
I mean, because like the plot is very much like a formulaic plot, but it's
still like rewarding and cathartic, but I think for now that they've introduced the stunt
awards, I think there's a lot to nominate their sound design, especially on IMAX. The sound
design is the first 10 minutes of this movie is going to grip you. And then you're like,
okay, I know what I'm in for. And it's, if you watch this trailer, a lot of times these movies
like what you were saying of how they're afraid to embrace the sports element. This movie
like knows like what to give its audience. And even with it being formulaic, it somehow feels
appropriate for what this movie is saying out to do because they bring the complexity within the
nuance of the characters and that's all you really need because the racing scenes in here are
the shit.
Yeah. I mean, they're so interesting and they get more interesting as we go and you start to
understand the sport even more as you know. I feel like I'm getting it. That's so true. Is there a
world in which Brad Pitt is nominated? I don't think so. I don't feel like Brad Pitt would be
nominated for this. I mean, he's really good in the movie, but this is not the kind of
have performance, but it is a good thing of like, you know, with Top Gun Maverick, I, like,
even though you got like Glenn Powell in there and you got Miles Teller, it still feels
like the Tom Cruise show, what I loved about what they did with this one, not to just make
this like a one-on-one comparison, even though there's obvious ways you can do it, like this is
top gun on wheels, is that Brad Pitt really leads an ensemble and like the other characters
get a shine. The character named Kate, I don't know the actress's name. She's a feature quite a
actually, I thought that was Rebecca Ferguson in the trailer. It does not Rebecca Ferguson. It does look so much
I went into this 100% thinking Rebecca Ferguson.
That's so weird.
I thought the same thing we were watching it.
I was like, it's crazy how much this woman looks like Rebecca Ferguson.
But she brings a lot of power to the screen.
She's got a great presence.
The young rookie guy, Damon Idris, I think is a great up-and-comer as well.
He was fantastic.
Hot stuff.
He was really hot.
I was watching it.
I will definitely go.
Totally Roxy's type right now.
Where we sit in the theater, we sit in a complete opposite ends.
Because we can't stand each other in real life and just pretend for camera.
It works.
No, it's because Greg insists on sitting in the middle.
And I insist on sitting on the edge for our own press.
By you was the theater cheering because anytime something would happen, like people were clapping, fist pumping, but in the best way, it felt like we were watching live sports.
Yeah, this movie did not have, like, normally when we see a screening at IMAX that someone comes out is like, turn off your phones or all that shit that I prefer that they do.
And that usually kind of primes the audience to like be a little.
bit more engaged or whatever and you could feel the movie earning its audience over quickly and
you could feel it earning its cheers like I was there like nipple chills and all hair there standing
on my body like I was like wow this is truly a film that I feel like people will be cheering
about it's it's sad to see that it's it's a tracking low domestic it's only tracked for like 30 to 40
million when the movie shocked to hear that but damn is I really hope people give this movie a
shot. Yes, it's an original movie. Yes, it might look like a formulaic in the trailers,
but I like this way more than like Mission Impossible final record. I thought this was an
incredible time. Easily one of my favorite movies I've seen this year. Definitely one of my favorites
of the year, too. I also loved Mission Impossible, but this is an original, so it feels a little
bit more elevated to me. Even though it's not Tom Cruise like, you know, risking his life,
Brad Pitt risking his life this time instead, I find it way more exciting than the last Mission
impossible. What did he do? What did, do you know what? Yeah.
he did all the driving he did all of it did all the driving you could like and they have a lot of great like
pov locked off shots like so cool some of those i was like there's no way he can be in the car for this
oh a thousand a thousand percent he was and like even even when they take the time to to to do the
pov of just the car like there's this one there's this one sequence where you're not seeing the
driver or the car it's just the p ov like you are the car yes and it is like this is even scary
Like, you're not even seeing anybody.
Yeah.
This is scary.
Yeah, I thought this was suspenseful, exciting, well-acted, great music.
This is like a cinematic experience.
And yes, IMAX is the preferred format, for sure.
How'd you feel about the very end?
That was fun.
I think it's a good, I don't want to say any adjectives that would spoil it, but I think
it's, they still definitely know their characters, you know?
It doesn't feel like they constructed a movie.
Then they're like, let's just throw some characters in there, which is often how these
movies can feel that they managed to find like this perfect.
feels very much like a classic Jerry
Brookheimer film. Yeah, I thought this
was a thrill ride and I hope everyone
watches it. Do you have any final things that you want to
think it's really smart that they had F1
people involved with production
because I think that this is going to be for
non-F-1 fans and F-1 fans
equally and I definitely think that this
is at the end of the year going to be on a lot of people's
top 10 list. Yeah. Oh, my
final thing, directing and editing
masterfully done. I have
no idea how they shot these sequences.
I'm like, did they get like a gazillion
in different angles and coverage.
Even through the graphic.
Yeah, the graphics, the cinematography, everything on a technical level, but on an enjoyment
level.
Wonderful.
Thank you, Roxy, for being here.
Thank you, IMAX, for inviting us.
Did I hold this the wrong way, Greg?
No, you're fine.
No, you're totally cool.
You just were advertising road microphones for everyone the whole time.
Thanks for that big check, you guys, Gabe.
And Brad Pitt was wearing a ninja advertisement, like, in the brand, like the blenders and
all that.
And I just bought a ninja blender for the office.
today. So I work at that office. Yeah, you do. Watch F1. High recommendation.
