I think we got to get to it.
All right.
If you're listening to us on Apple,
Spotify gives a five-star rating,
thank you to prep for helping out
it down these highlights.
Also, Eric at Nerd Chronic for doing this as well.
Well, well, well, we made it through that one.
what do you feel like roxy you know the whole franchise is so stupid fun that it's like whatever but
this is definitely my least favorite yeah just because there was no um no smartness going on i agree
we at least got one in the other one right no victories happening and we're and watching people
get like eaten and killed and gross whatever but like he literally was like we're all gonna just keep
graping you and then we just watch or drive off to it so it's just like and i hate that i don't want
that in my head yeah just this was the least feel good least like least fun and i wasn't rooting for
like i wanted like to really be on board um that being said i really liked the kill with the grass
with his head in it that that was really smart that was cool i think that it is a good idea to have a guy
who can speak, be teaming up
with the hillbillies. I wish that we
kind of understood more why they were
listening to him because they seemed to have no
interest in outsiders. So what exactly
happened there? Even though we do get that one
line about you guys are in my house, but it's like
they don't care about that what.
Right. And then I would have
liked to see some cool
stuff at the festival. Like
totally. You introduce a whole
festival and we don't have any festival
kills. I guess it was just a way to get masks
and it probably is way more expensive.
but like then don't introduce the festival at all because we didn't even make it there so right it's like
it was that was the lazy writing choice of like i would explain why people look weird and they're
not freaking out right so how do you feel i mean i just i i'm with you on all of that i i wish that
the characters are smarter i i do like the effects and the kills those are a lot of fun that's
it's always fun to see how they're going to kill different people in this
franchise, which is what we're here for, uh, the blood and the gore and all that stuff.
But I just don't get how there's money being thrown at a script and a story that's like this
where it just goes, wait, but why would the blonde girl leave?
And then 20 minutes later, the friend goes, I'm now going to go visit him.
why would the girl eventually let the guy out of the like what's the thing like yeah you know like
if if if if it was like i was thinking my head the girl who had the eyes out if she was in the
prison and the reason she's the one that lets him out is because if we had already set it up she has
mental issues right she's like she has like bad anxiety and she has PTSD or something
so that we know that his voice and exactly what he's saying could really get to her
But she's not.
She's just like a normal girl, but I thought like, oh, that would be a real explanation, right?
But I'm like, I don't, I don't know.
I just, there wasn't.
And same with like the blonde girl that we knew she was dead.
It's like, remember in the last movie when their girl goes and she freezes to death because she went to go get help?
But we don't know that she froze to death until the end.
And so we always think maybe something's coming.
Maybe there's hope.
True.
I like that.
Me too.
Even though she wasn't, she was dead.
It's like you understand why your characters are doing what they're doing more when you're in their position.
And same thing with her letting him out.
Like maybe if he was like, I told them not to kill anybody until I was out of here.
So your friends, I know where they are.
You have to let me out and I'll take you to them.
Exactly.
Any of that.
Yeah, just something to, for us to understand why she would do something so stupid.
but I do want to look up some things about this, though,
because it's the same team, so that's kind of...
It's just interesting to me that, you know,
Declan O'Brien, you know, he wrote it, he directed it,
so this may be something that he really loves.
And honestly, you know, going for a straight-to-d-d-d-d-movie,
like all of it's fine, they had some good car crashes,
some good stunts, good kills, right?
But I'm just thinking,
yes why can't we also have a character or two that's smarter than our villain also why can't we have
a little bit of foundation that's like what the eff is this normie guy doing with all the hillbillies
and why i'm and what did he mean by i've been doing this for 30 years my assumption is he's a
serial killer dude this movie was called wrong turn five bloodlines why is he related to them see because
remember he said the line no see because he goes he goes kin or no kin yeah when he said kin or no kin i was
confused too me too because i'm like we already killed the dad in three but these are the ones that
we saw escape from the other prison so they're different right these are the ones that we saw
in the mental institution but i don't know when he said kin or no kin exactly i was thinking that meant
like if you guys have kin so we're supposed to believe that he was their dad it had to be because
And he kept saying,
And they're going to be screaming at us,
but that was not clear.
It was.
Yeah, he did say my boys.
A ton of time.
But then that could be anybody that you,
that you are with these boys,
but you're not their dad,
but you call them your boys.
And we were supposed to understand that
based on all of incest,
like they,
they were,
so he is the beginning of this bloodline.
Maybe they literally called it bloodlines
because they knew how confusing that was.
You're right.
They did keep saying my boys,
but that was super weird to me.
Yeah.
I just, and I was clocking that, but I was like, I don't feel like I need to bring it up because it's like it's just, I mean, I'm still just going, I'm not sure that it's his, that it's their dad or if it's just like a guy who's like, you're in, you're in my house and you live here now and it's not his kids. He can still be calling him his boys and they're not be his children. Yeah, like my boys are coming for me. Yeah, exactly. Like, that's like,
Yeah, I mean, this was definitely darker, and they were obviously going for that.
My assumption is in their head, how can we top it?
How can we make it darker, right?
With all the kills that we've already seen all through.
But the darkness of, like, her having to go with them, I mean, I'm not, I'm not in love with that.
But I just wish the story and the characters were stronger and better and fought smarter.
If that was their dad, we needed.
to play into that so much more terror like i agree just these are who they are i've got to do that
whatever is so weird yeah this is the lowest rated wrong turn movie not surprised not surprised
about um let's see what else i can tell you about this is the second movie in the series where
none of the protagonists escape one does technically survive but is taken away by the cannibals in
the end um this we know what's the rating i don't know just on oh it just said okay
I'm d'i B, just as this is the lowest rated wrong turn.
The body count is 11.
Okay.
Let's see what else.
Only film in the wrong turn series that does not feature a death involving barbed wire.
We just used it for the car.
Yeah, we use it for the car.
This is.
Oh, and it was on his feet, that one guy.
Yeah.
This is Boris Lav Leav's second performance as three finger reprising from wrong turn three left for dead.
Mm-hmm.
man
I don't know
Simon Ginty is the one that I said that I recognized
and I was like where is this person from
and then I was like maybe I don't recognize him
and then you're like nope
he was in two episodes of the White Queen in 2013
but there's no way I could remember that
no I don't think so
I really thought I did
a lot of these actors man it's so funny
they go on and we have no idea who they are the guy who was very jock-like he it seems like he
has continued to book things um like he's got a face for it like what a dragon dragon
dragon number two on outlander things like that okay okay yeah i don't know man yeah i just also
the other thing you know when they go when he's like oh the blonde girl and he goes to pick her up
he's like i'm going to take her and i'm like and that the fine that was the
the one smart thing is that is that the friend goes we can't like you don't got to worry about that she's
already gone we got to get out of here right that was the one that i was thinking about dude
roxan mckee was in 11 episodes of game of thrones right before this playing what doria which one is
that i don't know and i'm looking at i i honestly can't tell from she must be the one who didn't go nude
oh that must be her right
yeah yeah that is her she was in Game of Thrones for 11 episodes damn okay and I don't remember her in that
I don't remember her right she was like she she did a good job with the emotion she did emotions and all that
that was good because you know when you're in these movies you have to play towards the kind of the cornyness
sappiness of like the way the movie's going obviously um and she was probably directed in that
as well but still made it to feel grounded the sheriff was in two episodes of mcguiver one episode
of lincoln lawyer an episode of dr who was in tom and jerry she's been a bunch of stuff also so yeah
i mean they do have some good people in here it's just it's i wish that there were a few tweaks made
to this story and i can't believe that even after them saying kin or not kin and my
boys my boys it was still so unclear why they would make him the father right that or like why he would
have kids that all three of them looked like that right because he says i've been doing this 30 years you
guys just got here like adopted dad correct that's what i'm saying yeah i've been doing this 30 year like
what are where why didn't we get any context for that why didn't we at least see a picture or
him to say one more sentence of like blah blah blah so we understood the relationship and why
they are because they did go remember he tried he went to go kill him and he hit him over the head
right and then we're thinking um well they could team together and now it's like well i guess
maybe if he is bloodline maybe that's why they don't in some ways we're overthinking it because
it's just a wrong term movie but in other ways it's like i do really i'm a i right
I'm an actress and a host, as is Tara,
but I also love to write movies.
And you have to brainstorm for so long
and think about for so long
all these different things that could be holes.
And it doesn't cost you any more money
to do another pass at something
to make it just a little bit tighter.
But that's, see, that's what I'm saying
that in the business,
there are people who get lucky.
And then they go,
oh, you made that.
people rented it and watched it, you can make another one.
And it doesn't matter what you write.
He's done better ones in this franchise.
So I wonder whether he was pressed for time or what happened.
Because this is like his franchise, right?
This was Declan, right?
Yeah, this is Declan.
That I just go, well, you know, I think that because he wrote it and directed it,
that he's just going, let's make it.
And people aren't like, let me give you notes on it, right?
So he only did wrong turn three.
four and five okay so not one and two but we the last one i really really liked
did we yeah with the snow and the couldn't leave oh yeah yeah yeah we liked it we kind of made
fun that that there were some parts in there but yeah you're right and the heads came off at the
end that was that was fun um we didn't like it as much as we liked two or one correct we still
liked it. We still liked it. This one is like, it is the weakest one. It's the weakest one. Yeah. I'm curious about,
so who did six? Let's see. There is a six, right? Yeah, there's seven, dude. Okay. Wrong turn six is called
Last Resort. Okay. And we switched to a different writer and director. So two different people.
Two different. Okay. Checks and balances on that. Yeah. Okay. And I don't know.
I wonder if because Declan did, did, you know, two others prior that he just sort of had free reign to do whatever he wanted in regards to this, this story and this movie.
Or whether the studio was like, we need this now and we know you can do this.
And he wasn't able to pump it out the same way.
And they might just write it off.
It was like, nobody cares.
They just want you to kill people.
And they're not thinking about the story like us.
But honestly, don't treat your audience like idiots.
You can feel the story, whether it's good or not.
You can feel the pacing if the story is bad.
Dude, this came out.
Yeah, this is what happened, dude.
Wrong turn one came out in 2003.
And then wrong turn two does not come out until 2007, right?
Yeah.
So then we get into the Declan era, starting with three.
Long term three is 2009.
2009.
And then for 2011.
The five is 2012.
That means he went back to back filming.
He did 19 days for four.
And this is probably...
He did three movies in four years.
Correct.
And this one was back to back years.
So I think he was just rushed.
I agree.
I think so too.
I would like to see...
Who is the studio?
If I were to ever look up Declan O'Brien again to see what else he has done
where the story is stronger and the characters have a little more life and depth and
intelligence to him.
I think the last two movies both did that more.
They did it way more.
This one just...
This is 20th century Fox.
Yeah, okay.
I think they just ran out of F in time
because, like, it doesn't feel like our guy, Declan.
Right.
Like, it just feels like it wasn't consistent
with the characters that he's been working on.
I can tell you, I'm looking him up.
You had said you wanted to know other things that he had done.
Yeah.
The Joy Ride franchise, which I don't know.
I haven't seen.
He did Joyride 3.
Oh, yeah, we went through the Marine 3, the Marine 4, hijacked Miami Magma Monster Arc.
I don't know.
Yeah, we didn't.
I remember you read these and I was like, we didn't know any of them.
Okay.
Shark topis.
Shark topis?
Shark topis.
Shark topis.
Shark topis.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Cyclops in 2008.
What is that with Eric Roberts?
Interesting.
Cyclops, okay, Eric Roberts, you got to, okay.
Yeah, all right.
Well, there you have, girlfriend.
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah, I mean, listen, still love watching these movies.
Still get excited to see them.
I just, I loved one.
It will be my favorite because it,
It was a good story with great pacing, great acting.
A movie that I thought was obviously a straight to DVD movie,
but I thought was going to be wildly disappointing and bad.
And it actually wasn't.
It surprised me.
Versus like this one didn't really, but I'm still excited to watch the next one.
Because we have fun doing it together.
Yeah.
Like it is what it is.
Uh, okay, guys, well, we got to read the Patreon question.
So I'll read the first one.
Brandon N said, Tara and Roxy, which horror movie series are you planning to watch next?
Not sure which movies you may have watched outside of the channel, but I'd like to suggest maybe Insidious franchise Manic Cop series or continuing the Exorcist series minus the second movie.
I have pitched Insidious 50 times.
Yeah, you have.
I'm really excited to eventually do that one.
I hope we get to because I'm sure we will.
Everybody says it's awesome.
Yeah. I know. I don't know why. I think it's an SEO thing that, because it really does come down to a Greg and John decision on what we actually do.
Yeah. I've never heard of Maniac cop. Me neither.
But that sounds fun. And then, uh, did we, we already watched the Exorcist, too.
Oh, no. I watched that for the World Girls. I will. Okay. Yes. She watched for the World Girl. I watched it for this channel.
With who. The first one. Do you know? No, it's okay. With John. Oh. No. Nope.
Andrew?
One of those guys I want to see me with.
Okay, you want to read the next one?
Yeah, thank you to Mark.
Mark says, okay, sexy she-jacks.
Do you all think the hillbillies are the juice of these movies?
And if you could replace them with anything, what would it be?
Monster, Serial Killer, etc.
Well, they are monsters and serial killers.
Totally.
Yeah, I think that the franchise is based on the Hillbillies.
They're absolutely the juice of the movie.
so yeah um if we could replace them with anything it would be a different franchise i feel like
but maybe like a group of teens of them who like have developed like we fast forward and they've
had kids and whatever and they are feeling conflicted like do we be like our oh my god they're having
internal struggles we last a story so much in five that we've gone there i love it um yeah i wonder
if
I'm just trying to think
how they could work in
like machines more
maybe it would be like really scary
if it was something like AI
and they just like they're
killing you but it's like a machine
and they can just like they can do whatever
because it's AI they're a satellite
they know where you are I don't know
the government has adopted them
into like it was war
mona totally they're like
If you, if you did war for us and you did it well, you can go have at it in West Virginia.
Or maybe, maybe then we see the hillbillies dying.
We're coming to an, we have two more on this one.
And then we need to hear from you guys.
What else you want us to start covering?
I think we have some ideas for the next one, but start putting in the, in the chat.
