Roxy Striar & Tara Erickson take a wild detour into horror with Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort (2014), the sixth installment in the cult slasher franchise, this time directed by Valeri Milev (Re-Kill). This gruesome entry reinvents the saga with a new storyline while keeping the backwoods brutality and inbred cannibal killers front and center. The film follows Danny, played by Anthony Ilott (White Island), who inherits the mysterious and secluded Hobb Springs Resort, only to discover a horrifying family legacy. As he reconnects with long-lost relatives—Jackson (Chris Jarvis, The Bill) and Sally (Sadie Katz, House of Bad)—Danny’s friends begin disappearing in increasingly disturbing ways. The infamous cannibalistic trio—Three Finger, Saw Tooth, and One Eye—return to carve up new victims in bloody fashion. Key moments include the resort’s hot springs massacre, a shocking axe-to-the-face sauna scene, and a grotesque ritual initiation that marks Danny’s descent into darkness. With its blend of gore, cultish horror, and eerie rural setting, Wrong Turn 6 delivers twisted kills, depraved family ties, and franchise-altering surprises. Starting point is 00:00:00 This week's video is sponsored by Acorns, the money app that makes it simple and cheap to make small yet significant investments. Wherever you go, at Real Rejects, get it done. Okay. Wherever you go. Wherever we are. All right, let's freaking do this. Valerie Millev. Okay, that must be how they.
Starting point is 00:00:30 got, whoops, I just meant to hit watch credits, but oh well, that's done now. Okay, thank you to Prepper for having edit down these highlights. We super appreciate you. Also, guys, leave a like, leave a comment, subscribe. Ring the bell.
Starting point is 00:00:51 Also, reject nation shop.com. Oh, I stained this this morning, I think. Don't worry. Hopefully you can't see it. Rejectnation shop.com. You get 15 percent off if you're a patron so you should get over on patreon if you want to know if you want to know what's up get the reject nation gear yeah if you're listening to us an apple or spotify give us a five star rating obviously like comment you know just makes us look good that that that happened um gross i feel like this was actually the most legit script since the first one like this was
Starting point is 00:01:24 the tightest the through line i understood beginning middle and end the suspense it wasn't my favorite since the first one but i think that the script was the most solid in terms of they really seemed to give a crap like after last one remember we were like did they have to turn this out too quick why doesn't this make sense there's so many holes in this this one was like yeah this is disgusting we're going full cannibal tribe and he is like their savior he is the messiah for them he got to put a baby in this girl we're like why is every day acting so weird. That is why. Why did they brought him out to this place? That is
Starting point is 00:02:00 why he talks about the sense of not belonging. Now he belongs. The way that we killed everybody off, like why we didn't just kill them at the beginning. We had to kind of hold out. So we got to keep the characters for a little longer. All of that. Yeah. Checked out. Totally. Which I think, you know, it's really smart. It's just like
Starting point is 00:02:16 was such a shock to realize right from the top they know, we're going to let the audience know what this is. Brother and sister are juicing it. And We knew that at the, like, the top 10 minutes. I like that they follow the tropes of, like, we're going to have nudity at the top.
Starting point is 00:02:37 But I do agree with where you want with the script. And then even when he went to the gathering towards the end, and they were like, you're a hickleker. And don't you see, like, our bloodline has been not strengthened, and this is why we're like this. And you're going to help us. I would just I was interested to see what would have happened with him had he not been drugged but then we saw it was literally the next day he was not drugged and he was so mad at his girlfriend
Starting point is 00:03:09 for killing Sally it's also he's off his meds and it's still in his body so true but yes which I like I mean that would be the only way that you could explain it of like that's why we showed him grabbing all those freaking meds and he has a bad history of you know depression mental struggles and so it makes complete sense why he would just go oh god sally like what are you doing you killed my family and him not see through all the wakadoo wildness yeah yeah yeah i mean that's a true that's wild that you can feel like you don't belong so much so that when you're you your family is like cannibals and they're like we need your blood and you got to juice it with your cousin you're like think about anybody who joins a cult yeah right yeah a lot of times it's
Starting point is 00:04:04 just like that you need that place um i yeah i i'm curious where this franchise goes from here because we know that this is the last of the originals right yes and the wrong turn seven is really just a remake from the from the first one i believe huh so i don't know know if it goes anywhere i feel like this might be the we didn't take a wrong turn at all we were trying to end up here so it's interesting that the franchise title is not true really in the vast majority of these like we very much attempted in the wrong term in life um i forgot to ask you this beforehand but do we know if we have patron questions for this one or if we not put them up because we're so far ahead of shooting oh good good good uh good question let's look while you're looking for that i also want to
Starting point is 00:04:49 look up some trivia about this. I'm just curious because it was clearly a different team. Yeah. Another thing to talk about, Tara, you and I both seem to have a little bit of slight issues with their casting team.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Yeah. I was just stupid to say because you and I would die to be cast by them. And it's not that the actors aren't good. It's just that I can't, maybe it's more with the HMU. Like, we got to dye some of their hair. We got to make not all of them white brunette men it was agreed i was like i have do i have just crazy facial blindness or what is
Starting point is 00:05:25 going on here right right i i'm like um i agree with that you know and it's funny because we are well when was this made do you have the year yes i do this was made in 2014 that is during the swing of uh well might be right before like not just white people yeah right um i do but either way I don't know how we didn't learn from five that how audience members, you had to have somebody going, wait, they look so similar. Let's clean this up. We need to have one brunette, one redhead, one, you know, blonde, whatever. But it is what it is.
Starting point is 00:06:09 I guess maybe they just wanted them all to look alike because there was some relations within there, not all of them. But the girls and the guys, none of the guys were related to each. right right um speaking of the the cast terra this is interesting on iMdb the person who played tony the person who played danny the person played jackson the person who played charlie and brian they don't even have photos oh yeah they don't pay for their i'mdb anymore because they're probably not acting well it's not even if you pay for it or not pay for it it's even like if there's a photo that ever was there for you well if you do but if you don't pay for it it won't come up it'll show up blank no because
Starting point is 00:06:49 I've let mine laughs before and because there's been photos that have been there. They last. Yeah, yeah. But I can't change them and I can't add them and I can't take it down. You know what? They probably were like, we've given up, take it down. Yeah, sometimes it's usually like for actors that don't book and stuff. But this one guy, okay, so the guy that played Danny.
Starting point is 00:07:08 Yeah, he's still works. His name is Anthony Loppe, but he has no photo. Really? But he booked as of 2023. Yeah, I was like, I recognize him. alter guys which somebody just told me to watch oh we should watch that together on apple tv um we'll what we'll add that to the list maybe because then that has him in it yeah i don't know that it's done enough that we would yeah that we could maybe do it but maybe maybe though um he books
Starting point is 00:07:36 so i'm kind of surprised he has no picture the one who played jackson i couldn't even tell oh that's the maybe the guy from the guy in the bike maybe i don't know if that's of him or if this just footage from the but he is born in England so that takes away your theory and that. Akila Zool who played Tony
Starting point is 00:07:56 um which one's Tony oh books also it's the girl I'm super it's bizarre the yeah just kind of bizarre interesting that their pictures aren't coming up there you know I did think
Starting point is 00:08:12 that they did do a good job on the special effects the one thing I thought I wanted to see more was a little more practical. The two arrows through the head this way and the other way were obviously CGI. But I think the barbed wire and the other one seemed more practical, which was a lot of fun. They used a lot of practical nasty-ass body parts, which was good. And I think, hey, if you're wrong turn five and you're going to six, you're like, how can we really do something very, very different? And, Boy, oh, boy, did they?
Starting point is 00:08:49 The girl that I was like, do I recognize her from a show? I learned that actually it's just because last time when I was looking at this one, her name was Roxanne, so I clicked on her picture. Oh, that's why. I recognized her, because she's the only one I clicked on because she had seen. What does she do now? She's working, kind of? In 2018, she booked a movie.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Okay. 2018, as much as it feels recent, it was seven years ago. It's a while ago, yeah. But listen, I go through stretches where I don't book either, so. Yeah, totally. I'm with you on that. Okay, well, we did get a couple questions from you guys, thanks. To the patrons, if you're on Patreon, you get to send us questions.
Starting point is 00:09:27 You get to see what is going to be uploaded that week. Send in your questions for the host. So, the first one's from Duke Swab. Ooh, so swab. He said, hey, Rocks. Hi. So since you've seen the final destination movies, do you see the similarities to the changes, quality-wise,
Starting point is 00:09:46 once you've got to the fourth installment. Keep in mind, I think the feedback from five and six made them take a different route, no pun intended, in WT7, and you will see. Love you all. Did you not see the Final Destination movies? I have not. You think they're asking me about the quality in this or the quality in Final Destination? Did you see in the Final Destination movies?
Starting point is 00:10:11 Do you see the similarities in the changes quality-wise once you got to the fourth installment? So to you, Duke, you're saying, after the fourth installment of both Final Destination and that, you saw quality changes. For better or worse, are you saying, Duke? Yeah. I feel like. And what does that have to do with Final Destination? I'm a little, Duke, much love to our patron. Do you get the question?
Starting point is 00:10:34 I don't. I know that you know that you are talking about wrong turn because it says five and six and then you put WD7. Right. But I'm not sure what you mean. The correlation with Final Destination. about the similarities. Maybe just asking us about the quality of this going up. Did you feel like after the four to five and six?
Starting point is 00:10:53 It went up? Reject Nation, I don't know about you, but money used to intimidate me. It definitely still intimidates me. Growing up, I'm sure you guys are the same thing too. Got to start investing early. It'll pay off in the future. But no one actually taught me how. And by the time I realized I needed to start, I already felt like I was behind.
Starting point is 00:11:12 And that's why I'm really grateful for today's sponsor. company i've already been using them since before we ever partner with them acorns acorns is a financial wellness app that makes it easy to start saving and investing for your future don't need to be rich definitely don't acorns lets it get started with the money you have right now even if all you've got is spare change you don't need to be an expert acorns recommends a diverse portfolio that i'll help you weather all the ups and downs of the market and yes to this day i still use them watch that muddy oak grow that's what i love about it it it automates everything so something Sometimes I forget that I'm still invested in acorns.

And it's always nice to check up on it and be like, ah, money oaks aren't growing. I don't have to think about it. Just link a card. And it starts putting my spare change to work. One of our team members here even use acorns to help them get out of a financial emergency. When I heard that, that really hit homes.

Starting point is 00:12:26 View important disclosure to acorns. Thank you, Acorns, for sponsoring this video and for up in the bank account look a little bit better. I mean, we noticed. It was different. Definitely the last one, which was five, it was way worse. Way worse. So procliting, all that. But four was better than five.
Starting point is 00:12:45 So I wouldn't say it was like a consistent. Right. I would agree with you on that because we noticed on four, it seemed like a bigger budget and the effects were still really fun. And we got a lot of that and cool murder. So I guess I would say that we realized that the budget went up. Five was. But I think the highest budget for wrong term was probably the first movie.
Starting point is 00:13:07 Probably, yeah, right? And they also had the kind of the names. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, you can write in again, Duke, maybe for run turn seven. Much love back to you, though, yeah, for sure. Yeah, and then we can get on it proper. All right, Kave, Kev B, you accidentally stumbled into the world of this movie, but instead of freaking out, you have to convince the local hillbilly horror crew that you actually are just a very lost pizza delivery driver. No, seriously, I've got a large pepperoni for Three Finger or maybe a reality TV producer scouting for the next big backwards cooking show.
Starting point is 00:13:43 what's your ridiculous gover story and how would you try to charm or outweigh your way out of this trouble? Are you bending in making a dramatic escape or are you hoping they're distracted by your offer of free garlic bread? Okay, I think it's very, very, I love that you love that so much. I think it's very apparent that they don't want to hear your story. I'm definitely not trying to talk my way out of it with them. They don't really care about that at all. I mean, the only way thing that they do care about is if you claim to be family. Right.
Starting point is 00:14:15 So I guess you could try to claim to be their sister or something, and then they might keep you alive. But your only option is to fight and run. You know what? Okay. Okay, tell me. I'm going to bring them a pepperoni pizza. And I'm going to open it and say, just a second, this pepperoni is people. I'll show you how it did it over here.
Starting point is 00:14:39 And then, I don't know, run them over, run away, run away, run them over. It was a strong start. Run them over. Anyway, they'll, instead of killing me, they'll go, hmm, how did she get such thin slices of body? Yeah. And I'll say, I can teach you. You say, I too am a cannibal, but my meat tastes better than yours. Let me show you.
Starting point is 00:15:07 Totally. Totally. Totally. And then we would just hope that somehow I have like Molotov cocktail options in my vehicle and just burn the place down. Like they did in the second one we saw burned the car or that's the first one. I don't remember. They blew the place up. I like that a lot. Yeah, yeah. I remember. But I guess if I just stumbled into the world like you said. Because the first one's the tree house one, right? Oh, you're right. So it's a second. We watched that a long time ago. Boy, oh boy, have we really been through the ringer. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:37 With this one. I'm interested to see based on what Duke said that they changed the quality for wrong turn seven and we'll see. And based on the fact that they're like rebooting, I'm super curious what wrong turn seven did. Like what do we know about wrong turn seven? Is it, do we go back to having names? I, uh, should I not look? No, I mean, look, I mean, whatever.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Yeah, I don't know. It's just like a remake. You know what? What I would have thought is that. that where I am at, I go, the first one is still the best one. And then if you were to go through these, you'd go, oh, they've gotten more inventive, there's fun kills. I would be a person who would be upset and be like, let's maybe like, oh, yeah, let's remake it, see if we can get more eyes on it, but remake it in a fun way and maybe still do the split in the body parts. I'm just, I'm mad we
Starting point is 00:16:32 didn't get we got four body parts on four how are you not going to give me five body parts and six body parts we could count an eye with the bar bar that's where i thought we were going here two eyes we pull the bar bar that's one two cut the head off three keep going to four five slice the body six and then she's laying there and it's six parts and the wrong term six okay so wrong term seven was written by Alan McElroy, who also was a story editor for Vampire Diaries. Oh. He also did Star Trek Discovery for eight episodes, Star Trek New Worlds for three episodes, Hollywood four.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Oh, so he's pretty legit then. This would be hopefully a good storyline then. And then the director did VHS-85, which was after that. It seems like has a little bit more credits. And then I don't know some of the... Mike Nelson. Like P. Nelson. And then I don't know some of these actors,
Starting point is 00:17:38 but Matthew Modine is in it. Oh, from Stranger Things. That's kind of interesting. Which I'm watching. The main girl is Charlotte Vega, who, let's see, was in American Assassin, the lodgers, last gunfight.
Starting point is 00:17:52 So she seems to work. Aiden Bradley, who is, oh, one of the guns. in industry, Tarro, All-American, the 100. So it seems like we're up in our game a little bit. Yeah, okay. I mean, I like that.
Starting point is 00:18:08 That's, that's, my idea would be, oh, wrong turn. Nobody's really paying attention to it. It's straight to DVD movies. Is there a way we can remake the first one, get more eyes on it? But I don't know that it works, Tara, because I don't know either. This is in 2021 and we're in 2025. That's the year, right? And there hasn't been a second one, so.
Starting point is 00:18:27 yeah yeah well i tell you if you're not if you're not chopping up bodies like they really did in one two three four we're already failing at it at a horror friend why did we lose that i don't know that they ever actually had it you know i watched it with you but i remember i'm the one i for four i spotted i know and i and i missed it and i went all four and i was so excited just like Yeah, but I don't know that they did it on purpose. Like, it might have just been nice coincidence. Because for two, then to three, maybe they're like, oh, okay, we're doing this. But for four, it might have been a little bit of a stretch with the splits that we thought.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Maybe they weren't doing it on purpose. Maybe it was just happening. And it wasn't like a team of this. But it was arm, arm, leg, leg. It was so obvious, Rocks. Well, and you saw it. It wasn't obvious until I said it, you know? Well, it's because I, because at that time, remember, I went, oh.
Starting point is 00:19:24 And then it didn't click. Maybe it wasn't on purpose one, two. two, three, four. Maybe they were just upping their game every time. And they thought they were doing that. Whatever idiot producer didn't clock that and told you not to cut a person into five parts and the six parts. I hear you. I don't know what to freaking tell you, okay? Um, all right. Well, I'm, I'm excited to see wrong turn seven, see what they did with it. I don't know if it's going to be a clear cut remake or if we're coming up with some new juice. I have no idea. Um, you got any last thoughts? You want to tell the people.
Starting point is 00:19:57 rocks just think of this one did a good job with the story so yeah i was happy about that and i also want to know what they wanted to be watching the future as we're coming to a close on this franchise yeah so let's know in the comments let us know we appreciate you love you guys and we'll see you up on the next one marco ton still who boy oh boy love it looks like therese sterling needs help No, no. From Hannibal, the hunt down a new killer, Marco Tunston. Oh, you're even worse. His specialty, his specialty, he loves to kill people by super glooming a toilet.
Starting point is 00:20:41 Oh, no, everyone uses toilets. Everyone eventually uses a toilet. That's so scary. So when he sits on the toilet, oh, you can't get off. He's just stuck there for life. Stuck to the toilet. Yeah, I remember this was in the 90s, there was no cell phone access. no you couldn't call anyone from the toilet you're just stuck there forever yeah
Starting point is 00:21:00 someone else comes in the bathroom but nobody wants to open the stall while you're in there yeah yeah no totally that's why they call marco tonstall oh oh he's right there the whole time time yeah it's the obvious evidence of marco you're a crazy person and now they're making a documentary about you it's going to be on netflix and it's going to be so popular you're going to be loved and guess who's playing you in the live action adaptation of your life story Michael J. Fox. Hey, not bad. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:21:31 I've always wanted to see him play a killer. Yeah. A cold-blooded, you know, toilet, glue and murder. He hides behind the Parkinson's. This, that's right. He does. It's all the cover. It's a really good cover.
Starting point is 00:21:44 Has you looking here, so we're going to hit you with this. That's right. That's what he's doing. So he can do the Kaiser Soze at the end. Ooh. Not that of truth. Walk up and everything. Marco, thanks for being the tonstall killer.
Starting point is 00:21:56 Miller. Catch you in the next one, my friend.
