Welcome to Daily Brightness.
This is our favourite episode, the Q&A episode.
Let's dive straight into it, Vestay.
Here's the first question.
If your career was a movie,
which actor would you want to play you
and what would the film's title be?
Ooh.
I'd want the rock to play me
and I'd want to be called
Mighty Brighty.
Oh, you've thought about that before.
And I'd be like this crazy superhero
and just like rescuing people
and that'd be me, Mighty Brighty.
Love that.
I'd watch it.
I think it'd be pretty sick, wouldn't it?
Have you actually thought about that before?
Did you just come up with that?
No, I just came up with that.
Mighty Brady.
That's so weird because I've literally just come up with mine
and I would want Adam Sandler to play me.
I know he's a man.
But he's like my favourite actor of all time.
I think he's absolutely hilarious.
Happy Gilmore's the best.
My favourite movie in the world.
The best.
My favourite movie at the whole time.
Stepbrothers is incredible.
No, Haffir Gilmore, I know every word off my heart.
I could literally, I could literally be...
Go on, give us a line.
Give us a line.
You boys are going to pay for that.
Oh.
The galsis, you crap and finish up on you.
Anyway.
Anyway, that's a new career for us, move.
Adam Sandler playing me, and I think I'd call it life's a movie.
And what would it be about?
Because I just think my life has been a bit of a movie.
I've, like, dreamed about the life that I've lived.
And I've had ups, I've had downs.
I've had highs.
I've had lows.
I've had funnies.
I've had hard times.
And I think, like, that's a movie, in it?
That is a movie.
So it'd be a bit of funny, a bit of rom-com, a bit of,
of laugh, a bit of dark times,
like a bit of it in your feels.
Talking about movies,
have you seen the film?
I swear.
No.
Right, if you do anything in the next week,
go to the cinema and watch, I swear.
It is the most amazing film.
So it's about, it's a true story,
based on a true story,
about a guy who has Tourette's.
But it's like in,
like, the olden days when Tourette's wasn't really a thing
and, like, no one really knew how to, like, diagnose it
and people just thought it was taking the piss
and something that was wrong with him
but they didn't know what
and he plays it so well
he's a good actor
he plays it so well
but it has everything
like it makes you laugh
you've got like a laugh feel
but yeah
so so heartwarming
like it like I cried
I laughed
I was like oh
I was like ha
like it had everything
but like so
like the best film I've seen
in a long long time
go see 100%
I will watch that
I will
100% recommend
but anyway yeah
million Rachel's movies
coming out soon
Keep your eyes.
Brighty and life's a movie.
Right.
Next question.
If there was a blooper reel from your career,
what's one moment that would definitely be in it?
Stupid question.
What am I going to say?
Oh, the Euros.
The Euros against Spain.
Del Castillo.
Is that when you never got whiplas?
Literally ended my career.
Well played.
Well played.
And I'm watching her tonight.
I've got two moments
when I lifted the FA cup
and it dropped on my head
and cut my eyebrow
and when we beat Arsenal
in the Conti Cup final
when it was the Conti Cup
and no one
I can't believe there was no video of it
Bestie I was sprinting over
to Beth in England
to try and celebrate
after she'd just scored
like the last minute winner
I tripped
I tripped and I was
scrolling on the floor
like scrambling to my feet
and I looked around
thinking I hope no one's seen
you're in a fucking full stadium
love of course
somebody seen. Well, they weren't no video.
It's me crawling like
some freaking animal and
I like fully tripped and then I was just pissing
myself like laughing.
You're just laughing on your own. I was like, what a saddo?
I looked ridiculous. I was so embarrassed.
I'll pay if anyone can find
me that clip. Yeah, if anyone can find
it, honestly, I was so embarrassed.
Good question. If you could
instantly master any skill that has nothing
to do with football, what would it be and why?
I just always want to do splits.
and I've been trying to do it
I've been trying to do it
I don't think you'll ever be able to do it
watch watch me
if I have to break my pelvis to do it
I'll do it I'd just love to be able to do
splits when people are dancing
and they're like doing that
and then they're just drop into splits
and I'm like oh
that I'd snap my legs
yeah and it just looks so easy as well
yeah I just want to be able to do splits
fair enough
I would be in the trade industry
like I'd want to like build a house
or like I just want to learn
You can do that
go work with my dad for
a week.
Yeah, but instantly, I'm like, I have ideas in my head that I want to do and I'm like,
oh, I can't do it.
Yeah.
So, yeah, it'll be that.
Yeah, it splits or dance.
I'd love to be able to dance like Chris Brown.
I would love to be able to dancing.
Wow.
Incredible.
Oh, God, he's unbelievable.
Anyway, if you were forced to listen to one album on repeat for a 10-hour road trip,
which one would you choose for survival?
That's really hard because it depends on mood you're in, doesn't it?
Do you know what?
I don't think I'd have an album.
I think I'd just put a...
like 80s essentials.
Yeah, like, now that's what I call 80s.
Yeah, now that's what I call 80s.
Yeah, because I think you've got a little bit of everything.
You can have a little bit of like, a little bit of a pop.
How good was now?
Like now 2000s or, yeah.
I think that's what I'd pick.
Now 2000s.
I love 80s, but I just think the 2000s will be like nostalgic.
It'll just take me back to like my childhood.
Right, this isn't a question on the thing, yeah.
I'm just going to ask you it because I just thought about it.
All right.
What is your favourite Christmas?
film.
Elf.
I knew you were going to say that.
Elf, I can't.
I must have known that because I knew you were going to say that.
Because, do you know what?
I can picture myself dancing like when he's in mail room.
That's me.
That's me.
I do like Elf.
But there's something about like cartoons or like non-reality that I just can't get on board with.
Like you know how I don't watch like Disney films and stuff like that?
Like the new Grinch, you know the Grinch?
New one, no. The original Grinch is banging.
The Grinch I just, I struggle with because I'm just a bit like...
What, even the original one?
Yeah, because it's just so cartoon-y.
Oh, I love it. Watch that, Max.
That's it, I'm not going.
Why do you think mine is?
I'd say home alone.
Which one?
Oh, I don't know.
So the first one is when he's lost at her.
The first one.
Come on! Come on!
Come on!
Keep the chair of the animal.
I love the first one, but I think the second one lost in New York
because I was in New York and, like, just seeing the poor kid get stranded in New York,
yeah, I just love the whole, like, story behind it.
But I think three and four, what's the point? Don't do it.
One and two is like gold dust.
Every Christmas, every Christmas Eve, I watch Home Alone.
Right, guys, that is it for the first part.
We will be back very soon.
Don't go anywhere.
Welcome back to Daily Brightness, Q&A episode.
Right, I'm going first because I've got this one and it's really good.
Yeah, I know exactly what you're going to ask.
I know it.
What's the most overrated and underrated biscuit?
Biscuit.
I knew you're going to think that one.
I'll be, wait, rich tea, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful.
Yeah, but I don't think it's overrated.
No, but I don't think it, though.
I don't think it is.
Hobnobbs.
Overrated.
I agree.
Two crumbullery.
Overrated, people are other best biscuits.
Hobbs of shit.
All right, each to their own, each to their own, sure biscuit, but it's overrated.
What I will say, underrated, chocolate malted milk.
Do you know what I'm also going to say, though, just the original digestives.
Yeah.
Fucking bang!
No, but the chocolate, a chocolate malted milk is underrated, right?
Because they're just the perfect size, like two bites.
But I don't know, it's not perfect size because I'm about 10.
I could eat whole digestion in one.
I just, I, yeah, they're like
up there with my favourite.
I can't wait for the comments on this one
because I know all the hobnob lovers
are going to be straight in on us.
I don't like it.
I'll tell you what I think is underrated.
Custard cream.
Yes.
How do you eat it?
No, but a custard cream in your coffee.
Dip that in your coffee, it's a game changer, not tea.
How do you eat your custard cream?
I just eat it normal.
I bet you any money, you take a biscuit off.
Eat the cream, eat the next biscuit.
I knew it.
She knows me too well.
I just eat.
Bye, bye.
it all the way down like a sarnie.
If I were dipping it, I'd shove it all in
but if I'm not dipping it, I bite it off.
Yeah, of course the cream's...
Do you know, I eat a jaffa cake as well?
No, I bet you it's the same as me.
I eat the biscuit, like the base off.
No, I nibble round the jelly peas,
I bite the biscuit off, and then I suck the chocolate off.
Okay, do you know how I eat it?
Do you want to know why I eat it?
I hold it like that, right?
Chocolate in.
I bite the biscuit off from my bottom teeth.
Bight up through the biscuit base.
Right, so I've got the jelly and the chocolate and then I like peel each bit of chocolate off
and I'm just left for the orange and then I'll suck the orange bit.
But do you leave it on your tongue the orange bit and I'm like that?
Yeah.
Well, you were around, we were talking about this in the day, but you were around when Jaffa Cake, the advert.
What's the Jaffircate advert?
Let me see if you can think about what I'm thinking about.
But I can't think of it.
Half moon. Half moon. Half moon.
Total eclipse.
Yeah.
Now, when that advert was out, that's, that's...
how I used to eat the Jaff cake
and then when that disappeared
then I started
No but I've only ever eaten it that way
Oh I've just shoved it all in
That's like a Kit Kat
A Kit Kat
I'll chew all the chocolate off the outside
of the biscuit
Break it now
And then I'll go
Who the hell has got time for that
Clearly me because you take a break
Have a Kit Kat, take a break
I agree though to be fair
I don't know why I'm saying that
Because I do that with Jaff Cake
But anyway
Exactly
Right next question
What's a historical period
You'd love to time travel to for a week
and what's the first thing you'd do?
I think I'd go back to, like, the war
and, like, see what it was like in, like, air raid shelters.
That's very, very good.
They were, like, proper survival of the fitness.
Like, they lived on rations.
Yeah.
Nothing. Absolutely nothing but survived
and got through it at, like, the darkest times,
like, bombs, living underground.
Like, I don't know.
Yeah, I'd like to go in an air raid shelter.
Like, knowing that I'd come out alive, obviously.
But I'd like to go and, like, witness what they went through
because I think that's not talked about enough for me.
I've always said I'm not for this generation.
I've always said I would love to have been born
when it's cobbly streets on the cobbles with the horse and cart.
That's like Victorian times.
I love the houses.
Yeah, see, that's a very positive one.
I think I went in like,
I just want to see how hard it was for people.
But I'd also like to go back to the Roman times
and I'd like to fight like a Roman.
Yeah, and also...
I'd be in my element best.
that horse back, get me on it. No problem. I'd be swinging for days. I'd like to know how
people live. And I think I'd love to know, like, go back to the time where people created roads
and built roads. Yeah, like, it's fascinating. Yeah, I don't think I've gone in this area
of me. No, I should have been on the cobblestries with the horse and cart, or I should have been
Roman fighting. I think we're just really old souls, aren't we? Yeah, I love it, though.
I'm here for it. All right, go on. Last question, Besty. If you could have a magic remote
control that could pause, rewind or fast forward time in your own life, which button would be most
tempted to press and why? I've been most tempted to press fast forward. Really? But I never
would. I think that's probably based on current events, isn't it? Yeah, I'd like to know what's
coming. But then on the flip side, I'm like, I'd like to go back, but then I'd be scared to
go back in case I change the future. I know if you could rewind 10 years, your next 10 years would
look different. But then that's scary. It's, yeah. It's...
It's scary.
If you had that opportunity,
it's like crossroads,
in it?
Do you, don't you?
I don't know.
It's hard on that.
It feels this one, isn't it?
Ooh!
Yeah, because I know for a fact
there's things that I'd change
so I'm like,
I'd definitely be rewinding
but then I'd be like,
holy shit,
I can do it, like.
Rewind and you know why.
If I had one opportunity
to rewind to,
I'd give you my rewind.
Oh, that's cute.
I would give anything to rewind
and have some more moments
with my dad.
And then I'd press pause forever.
Just leave us in that place.
Yeah, it's probably a good way to end the podcast there, isn't it?
It is. Let's leave while we've got a lot of warmness in our hearts and souls.
But guys, thank you for your question.
They've been amazing.
Yeah, really good ones.
Yeah, we hope you're loving the pod just as much as we are.
We will see you soon.
Take care of your people.
Be kind.
Send your love.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
