Before we get into today's episode of Daily Brightness,
we just want to say a huge thank you to Shaw
for helping bring our podcast to life.
Obviously, this is something that we've wanted to do for a while.
Teaming up with Goldhanger was an absolute no-brainer for us,
but I think it's more just probably to get our points out there.
I think like before, Rach, it's about bringing Daily Brightness to life
and I think when we first invented it, if you like,
it was all about communicating with each other,
having that safe space to kind of be a little bit vulnerable and just showing our raw authentic selves and I
think for us the podcast is that and that's why I think we're extremely grateful for sure to give
us that opportunity and kind of bringing it to life and allowing us to now you know have it on a
wider spectrum and connecting with the fans again but also some of the things in the women's game
that really need to be better and the problems and boundaries that we still face and I think as
players current players as well we can really touch on that and you know hopefully bring a
little bit of attention but ultimately it's just about sharing who we are as people and
yeah like I said we're really really grateful that Shora have given us this opportunity and
supported us since day one. Obviously it's been amazing that Shora have backed us from the start Mae'n ddiolch iawn i Sior am roi'r cyfle hwn i ni a'n cefnogi ni ers ddiwedd y dydd. Mae'n amlwg bod Sior wedi'i gynnal i ni o'r dechrau a'r holl ffordd drwy hyn nawr,
ond mae'n hynod o hwyl cael nhw ymuno â ni ar gyfer y Sior ymlaen ymlaen.
Byddant yn gweithio gyda ni bob stwff y ffordd, felly rydym yn ddiolch i nhw i ymuno â ni a rhannu'r diwydiann yma hefyd.
Felly diolch eto i Sior a diolch i chi i gyd am ymuno. to show and thank you all for tuning in.
Hey everyone, welcome to the Restless Football Daily Brightness. I'm Millie Bright.
And I'm Rachel Daly.
Let's start with checking in as we always do. Rach, how are you?
Good. I feel a bit refreshed. I've had a weekend of no games. I think I've got a bit of sunburn on my nose there. But yeah, just chilling really, watching lots and lots of football. Watched your
game, watched the Arsenal game, watched the Palace game. So yeah, just a bit of a chilled
one this weekend really, but obviously not so chilled for you. How are you?
Yeah.
You know what it's like.
Yeah.
You know what it's like.
It's always hard to digest those sorts of games
and the disappointment that comes with it,
but I'm okay.
It's part of football, isn't it?
It's part of life.
You win some, you lose some.
No time to dwell.
We have a game two days later,
which is massive for us in the league.
So, yeah, it's recovery.
And then straight back to it.
So, obviously, a lot of disappointment,
mixed emotions,
but, yeah, still two trophies to fight for.
So, you know, things could be a lot worse.
Obviously, no time for disappointment.
You've got a massive game on Wednesday,
but talk us through a little bit of like,
I don't know, it's not often Chelsea get defeated.
So a bit about after the game,
like what was said
and how did you pick yourselves up
for moving to a massive game on Wednesday?
Yeah, it's hard.
I think having been defeated in both games
in the manner in which we did,
you know, listen, first 20 minutes, I thought we were brilliant.
I thought we were in their half a lot of the time.
And to be on top against a team like Barca is a big thing.
And you really need to use that momentum and have something to show for it.
But we just couldn't get that goal or that clear-cut chance.
And then they come
with three chance in the first half and it's three goals but that's that's their level of quality
that's you know it's the level that they're at but just as a group we just have to I think it's
important to let everyone have their their time to deal with it um so I think straight after the game
everyone's obviously angry pissed off off, disappointed, upset.
You always think, oh, if I'd have just done that,
if we'd have just done this.
But yeah, I think everyone, we left everyone to have their moment.
And then obviously the next day is a recovery day.
Again, everyone's kind of processing it.
But ultimately, like you you said we've got a
you know a massive game midweek where we're fighting for a league title um six in a row so
there really is no time to dwell so today I've just tried to be bubbly and get the girls laughing
and joking again and it's always hard because you feel a bit guilty for being a bit upbeat
because we've just been you know we've just been knocked out of the Champions League
and we've just lost in both games the way we have.
I always feel a little bit guilty for trying to be upbeat,
but I'm like, no, the girls need it.
This is what we need.
It's a really fine line.
So I always find that a little bit difficult.
But yeah, listen, the sun's shining.
We've got two trophies to fight for.
Like I said, life could always be a lot worse.
As disappointing as it is,
you have to look forward and move forward.
Yeah, two more big trophies to fight for.
Let's get you the treble.
But yeah, we've both got massive games on Wednesday.
You've got Man United away, right?
Yeah, away Wednesday evening.
And we've got Arsenal,
so could try and help you out a little bit.
Are you home or away? Home. Home. Oh, that's good for you then. Yeah, away Wednesday evening. And we've got Arsenal, so could try and help you out a little bit. Are you home or away?
Home.
Home. Oh, that's good for you then.
Yeah, big game.
Are you excited?
Yeah, I mean, obviously, Arsenal are in flying form at the minute.
They were absolutely unbelievable at the weekend.
I'm sure you didn't get to see much of it,
but, you know, they're in unbelievable form and plenty to fight for.
And just got to hope they're a little bit tired from the
weekend you'll get a goal i can feel it i can feel it but like you say i think the hardest thing is
knowing that shift of like a heavy defeat what you do the next day because i think a lot of people
will be down a lot of people will deal with it in their own ways but i think
ultimately you've got to do what works for you
and what you think will bring the team up
because that game's huge for you now.
And it's so difficult to bounce back from a defeat
to then go on to a completely different competition.
But I suppose your focus shift now is to the treble, isn't it?
Yeah, definitely.
We need to do everything.
There's still a lot of work to be done.
I know everyone keeps banging on about, oh, we've had a fantastic season, but unless you have anything to show for it, it's not a fantastic season. And that's very much our mentality. So, yeah, we know it's Listen United are in form as well. They've had a brilliant season and playing them away is a very, very tough game. So it's one that we need to be switched on for.
We need to be ready for it.
And like you said, everyone's now had a day
to process their emotions from, you know,
being out of the Champions League.
So now it's time to put that to bed.
We'll review and assess that at a later date.
But for now it's, yeah, all our energy and focus
is positive and uplifting.
And, you know, we have had a fantastic season,
so we have to remember all the amazing things we've done.
If you could just do a really good job Wednesday night,
that would be great.
I always do my best for you, Bessie, you know that.
Same, same.
I never forget when the Chelsea fans were chanting my name
in your last game of the season, was it?
Wasn't that against United as well, when we played City?
I was just like a little fan among the Chelsea fans.
I love it.
Fans are wild.
I think you're like a Chelsea player at heart.
You are.
You were like destined to play at Chelsea.
There was a couple of moments, weren't there?
But we missed out on that.
But no, it'll be a massive game for us.
I think Arsenal, like I said, they're in unbelievable form.
And I think as much as it will probably pain you to say it,
they played amazing yesterday. And difficult place to go and turn it around but I think we have
to respect the fact that an English team is in the final yeah and for the first time in 18 years for
Arsenal to make a final is massive but what like what do they have to do to be that Barca team
because they are just a force to be reckoned with yeah well they had a really really good game
and I think
you know
in the Champions League
at this level
against these sorts of opponents
you can't make mistakes
because you get punished
and it's so hard
to come back from
but like you said
they're in really good form
and also
anyone listening
if you can hear
the kids outside
it's a sign that
summer's coming
because they're outside
in the sunshine enjoying
themselves having a great time they're not aware that i'm trying to do a podcast so it's fine i
thought you had a little crash in your living room to be honest yeah just had a baby secretly
just kidding just kidding anyway i think they've honestly just got to do what they did um against
leon and you know they're a ball playing team anyway i think everyone knows honestly just got to do what they did um against Lyon and you know they're
a ball playing team anyway I think everyone knows that so but it's one of them games you're playing
you have to have your best performance you have to be it has to be your best defensive game it has
to be your best game on the ball it has to be your best game in front of goal like they're so
technical like they very rarely give the ball away Every pass is crisp and exactly where it needs to be.
Every shot is nine times out of 10 on target,
if not in the back of the net.
So yeah, I think they just need to be confident.
It's amazing to see an English team in the final.
And you know, when any English team's playing
in the Champions League,
you want them to do well as much as I'd prefer
that to be us there.
You have to, you know, bite your ego a little bit.
And they're representing English football.
So to make a final is an incredible achievement.
Yeah, I think the manner that they did it in as well,
like I say, to go to Lyon and stop a Lyon-Barcelona final,
it's always that.
Obviously not always, but there's been many Lyon-Barcelona finals.
So I think, like you say, credit to Arsenal.
They put on a great performance yesterday
and hopefully they can go on and do that damage to Barcelona in the final.
But yeah, it's great to see an English team in there for sure.
And a team to represent the country is massive.
Yeah, and if you pull off a performance like that,
you deserve to be in the final.
So it's, you know what I mean?
It's one of them things you get what you work for
and yeah, they put in an incredible shift
and yeah, the result speaks for itself really.
Yeah, so moving on to this week,
obviously you've got Man United away,
which is interesting because you play them again
in a couple of weeks in the FA Cup final,
but you're not new to playing teams back-to-back
pretty much, are you?
Not these Manchester teams.
But what is the mindset for you there is
it does it change is it is it you know you go out there i mean obviously going out to win both the
games but is there any yeah sort of hidden like mindset shift i don't know don't like don't want
you to give away too much but no do you know what i think for us we we play the game that's in front
of us and i think we won't even think about the final until we're there and we're you know it's
it's it's time to focus on that I think first and foremost we just deal with the league game it's
massive massive game and you know if we win that game we put ourselves in a brilliant position to
um to win the league um before the last game so we don't have time to to look any further than that
and it's been a really interesting season.
And like you said, we've played, especially the Manchester teams,
back to back on a few occasions.
But also I think a final's different.
It's like that one-off game where whoever turns up,
whoever executes the game plan,
whoever gives absolutely everything, you'll lift the trophy.
So I always feel like finals feel a little bit different
but yeah
I think we'll just go out
to win the
league game first
and then
you kind of assess it from there
and I don't think
they'd change things massively
but yeah
I guess we'll have to see
I mean look at when we played
City four times in a row
everyone was expecting
like mad things
like
different formations or whatnot.
But yeah, I guess you never know,
but we'll have to see.
It's one game at a time.
You know how it goes, bestie.
Game by game.
Exactly.
And I want to see you lifting that trophy.
Trying my best.
Like this.
Two of two, three of three.
Keep going.
I need that cabinet filling up.
I've seen there's a few gaps in that cabinet upstairs.
It needs filling.
I'm trying. I'm trying. Right. Time for us to take a quick break. I've seen there's a few gaps in that cabinet upstairs. It needs filling. I'm trying.
I'm trying.
Right.
Time for us to take a quick break.
We'll be back in a moment and see you very soon.
See you soon.
Welcome back, guys, to the Rest Is Football Daily Brightness.
So, Rach, we've spoken a lot about Chelsea and me,
so we're going to swiftly move on to you.
What have you been up to this week?
I have seen you did a day in the life with Villa.
I did.
I'm waiting for the comments to see if I've been cancelled or not yet
because the breakfast was, yeah, I'm not sure people are a fan.
What did you have?
You're going to judge me.
I'm never judging.
Right.
You know what I'm like when I get really fixated on something like i like love it for like two weeks and then it's like we to bix that was
that was your thing no that will always that will always be my thing pre-game but i was having like
a scramble with like peppers onions whatever for like two three weeks four weeks and then it's like
i can't stand the sight of them anymore yeah so i have toast with marmite oh i hate marmite beans and poached eggs
honestly i couldn't understand if you don't if you don't like marmite i get it but if you like
marmite don't knock it i'm not judging you because i think people that like marmite have it with some
weird combinations so you do you honey boo boo if that's what you want exactly you have it
but it was good.
They just followed me around for the day.
And Dexy was in, so she got loads of highlight mentions. Sassy little girl.
Honestly.
So she was loving life.
And yeah, we managed to get the podcast on there.
Snuck that in.
Nice.
It was a nice little...
It wasn't even my suggestion.
It was theirs.
So shout out to Shannon from Villa Media Team.
Thanks, Shannon. pay you later she got commission off that we've had some really nice feedback though that's what i will say it's been really nice like receiving messages from people and
um just like the comments um i had someone message yesterday and was just like can you
hear the dogs in the background
that's her and elsa they're fighting by the way it's playtime this is what time is it yeah it's
playtime anyway just really nice like receiving messages and people were just saying like it's
really nice to see like the raw side of athletes and seeing you two as like people so i think that
was really nice for me to read because I was like it's just reassurance that
what we're doing is exactly how we wanted it to come across um but I think the comments have been
amazing from the podcast so far yeah I've loved it I've had loads of good little bits of feedback
like I said the other week it's people from different walks of life as well it's not just
football people like people are loving it so love that keep loving it, so love that. Keep loving it. Hope everyone loves us.
If you don't, oh well.
If you don't, swipe along.
You're missing out.
But yeah, that's basically what I've done this week, to be honest.
It's been quite a laid back, chilled week.
I've obviously done a bit more DIY, some fails.
What have you been doing?
I've redone my whole downstairs bathroom, so that was nice.
What colours have you gone for?
it's like dark dark grey bluey nice
midnight grey blue
yeah so I've done that
oh Bob's at it again
I won't tell you my fails just yet because I'm a bit embarrassed
no come on
this is raw content
so basically I thought right
I'm going to paint my banister. I wanted it black.
I wanted the rails black and the posts stay white,
but then the tops a bit black.
Obviously I'm just like, oh, yeah, we'll get this done on a day off.
Didn't read what I have to do.
Little did I know you've got to strip the whole thing back
and then start again.
But I just painted over the paint.
Tucked the tape off.
It's taken me all day.
It was so hard because it's like really fine. Yeah. Tuck took the tape off, it's taken me all day, it was so hard, because it's like,
really fine,
like,
yeah,
took the tape off,
it all peeled off,
like the paint,
peeled off,
like it's literally,
like I put a sticker on there,
and just peeled it back,
it's quite satisfying,
but it's just horrendous,
so now I'm going to get a new banister,
oh,
you're just going to scrap it,
yes, hack it off,
can't bother picking up,
paint it off,
looks like marble effect on there, at the off. Can't bother picking it up, paying it off. Looks like marble effect
on there at the minute.
That could be a new invention.
I don't know.
People want to buy that.
I need to do some stuff
in the house, actually.
We should start a little page,
you know.
We should do like a house page.
Yeah, fails as well.
Yeah.
I actually built some
really nice garden furniture
yesterday as well.
Did you?
Oh, I need to do my garden.
Summer's coming.
I need to get it sorted.
Yeah, mine's just taken off.
It's beautiful out there now.
I need to get mine done.
Barbecue season.
I'll be round.
Anyway, should we go back to the football?
Yep.
Obviously, Palace are relegated.
They just have a heavy defeat to West Ham, 7-1.
Yeah, you know what?
I watched that game. I actually watched it in the garden while I was building the furniture
because I thought I've got to get it all ready
for when your game was on. Watched the
first half of yours in the garden as well to be fair because
it took a lot longer than planned. But I tell
you what, right? West Ham, they're
doing really well at the minute. Their striker
Shakira Martinez, she
just bagged every, literally,
like I turned my back for one second, it's like, Martinez with her fourth goal of the game. I was
like, what? So I think, unfortunately for Palace, they were on the receiving end of West Ham's
really good run of form. We've got to play them, well, this week on the weekend. So it's going to
be a tough game for us as well. But I think they're flying at the minute. I want to say it's
disappointing for Palace to go down
because obviously they've just come up
and it's happened for two years in a row now,
two successive years,
but obviously there's a little bit of a sigh of relief
from the Villa camp.
Yeah.
With still three games left,
obviously we've got work to do.
We know we don't want to finish as high as we can,
but I think that is something that is really tough.
How do we get it so that these teams that
come up from the championship stay up because obviously two years in a row now of that happening
it's it's not great no I think it's down to the investment in it and making sure that
when teams do come up um that their their ambitions are to stay there of course they are
any team would be but you know you need that squad depth
and you need to be able to compete against all teams and almost like survive your first year and
then you build on from there like there has to be like a plan to improve and like you said you don't
just want to get promoted they get relegated and then kind of stay in that cycle so for me it's all
about the growth like is every team investing into their
women's team are their facilities the best are they an attractive club for international players
to come to and it's all about growing growing the team like you can never stand still in the
women's game it's just like a non-negotiable like you if you stand still you'll you know what it's
like you won't get anywhere yeah you might as well you're basically in reverse aren't you? Yeah
it's really really hard
It's so difficult
like once
you've got knocked down
from this league
to get back up again
because obviously
Bristol last year
they're not going to
come up this year
you know you talk about
the parachute payments
that Premier League get
when they get relegated
it takes a bit of weight off
and gives you that sort of
financial help
but they don't get that
in the women's game
so it has to be an investment from the club doesn't it to to say look we're going to kick
hard we want to take off we want to get back up in there next season straight away because i think
that's a tough one isn't it because obviously you're taking the hit of being relegated so to
then fight again next season obviously you're probably going to lose your more prolific players
because they're going to want to play in the WSL.
Yeah.
So rebuild your squad, you know, financially survive and push at the same time to get back up.
Yeah, I know.
I completely agree.
And like you said, you're in that rut then.
You're in that cycle of how do you get out of it?
And I do think it needs to be looked into because if you don't have that parachute payment
and you're, say, the club don't invest as much
into the women's team as other teams,
you're already in a worse position than many other teams.
If you get investment, it's fine.
You can grow and develop and have a bit of a plan
and first year we do this, second year we do this.
But if you're always fighting at a loss,
it's pretty impossible to get out of that cycle.
No matter what team you play for,
we care about the WSL.
All players care about it
and you should care about it
because it's the next generation.
It's the growth.
It's not just about the top five teams.
It's about the whole league being competitive
and being able to stay in the best league, really.
Yeah, I think you see, obviously it's so close now.
If you've seen the Championship League, it's mad.
Yeah.
So I think it's London City are two points ahead of Birmingham,
but they play each other on the last game of the season this weekend.
Yeah.
See, that's so exciting.
I know.
But then that's two teams that are obviously pumping investment
into the clubs.
Like, London City, the way they've invested is insane.
And attracted, like, high've invested is insane. And attracted high profile players.
100%.
So I think that just shows the growth
of where their direction they want to go
and they want to make the WSL.
Dexy, can you hear her?
I can hear her.
Little barks.
Honestly.
Sassy girl.
As soon as you put her outside,
she just goes...
Honestly, she wants to attack everything,
but anything goes anywhere near her,
and she's like, not me, not me.
So I think exciting weekend for the championship as well.
So I'm intrigued to see who comes up from there.
We will see.
And who will be in our league next season.
But in other news, 200th appearance,
that is an insane achievement.
Like, how do you feel getting that like surely
I had no idea well I just had not surprised me you know me I don't do individual stats I prefer
team things I prefer celebrating others not me I'm like okay cool thanks so much and then I sat
back and I was like holy crap I've like got 200 appearances in the WSL.
And yeah, it was like a little bit of a reflection on the journey
and where I started to where I am now and been, you know,
the second player to achieve that is pretty cool to be fair.
So I'll let myself reflect on that one.
I'll, just for you, I'll let myself do it.
Good, you should be celebrated.
I didn't know though.
I found out the day before.
I found out the day before.
I found out the day before and they were like,
by the way, if you play tomorrow,
it'll be your 200th appearance in the WSL.
And I was like, oh shit, I'm really old.
Like I've been here a long time.
No, you're just that good that you play every single game.
Even when you played Palace today,
I was like, get her off.
Get her off.
I was like, it's 60 minutes now.
Time, cut it.
Get her off. Yeah, it's pretty cool. time cut it get her off yeah it's pretty cool
and just time flies
like it's gone so fast
so so fast
but I don't know
where people get
these individual stats from
like I don't even know
where they are
I just wait for people
to tell me
same I'm a bit like that
yeah we're not like that
do you know
who is the only
other person
to get 200
Jordan
little peanut Jordan Knob she's on 207 so good that's like Do you know who is the only other person to get 200? Jordan. Little peanut.
Jordan Knob, she's on 207.
So good.
That's like two of my really close friends.
I'm so proud.
I think I've got like five.
No.
How many will you have?
No, you played at Lincoln.
No, I don't think that counts.
I think it's like, I don't know, 50 maybe.
I was away for so many years, wasn't I?
Yeah. But honestly, please just sit back and reflect on your career
because 200 appearances in the league is insane
and you deserve to be celebrated for that.
Thanks, Bessie.
I will maybe, maybe I'll think about it.
You better do.
I've seen a really nice, Barclays did a really nice video actually
of like, and I look spit, like my facial expressions have not changed one bit.
Was it when you were at Donny?
Yeah.
Yeah, Sarah shows me.
I was like a little baby face, but I still, like, do the same expression.
She's like, look at Millie there.
She's like exactly the same.
I was like, yeah.
That's where I remember you from, like, those days.
Mad.
Crazy.
Crazy.
Also, let's just finish up a little bit here with the football stuff.
I noticed that your game against Barcelona,
you wore some pretty sick
trainers to recognize and acknowledge neurodiversity so i know that's important to you so do you want
to touch on that a little bit yes so basically the men's game before our barca game and our game
was run by the chelsea foundation which i'm a trustee for, for anyone that didn't know. And basically we were just,
it was to celebrate all the amazing work that they've done so far,
just to highlight the foundation really and everything that they do.
And I think sometimes there's so many, well, not sometimes,
there's a lot of games,
there's a lot of other things that get pushed to the front,
but it's so important that we give the foundation that platform to be
recognized and, you you know really push
the work out there and um they've obviously got the sensory room at stanford bridge and i'm working
very closely with them on a lot of things but i actually had an artist i came across her on
instagram and she messaged me and you know what i'm like things happen for a reason the first picture I clicked on was an ADHD trainer
and I was like bingo this is what I've been looking for like all the work I'm doing in the
background like the comic book with the foundation and you know obviously with my nephews ADHD and
autism that's something that's very close to my heart and to click on that trainer first I was like that's I've got to like speak to her so we spoke
to her on Instagram she is g-i-t-a-r-t-s-y so if you go check her out she's amazing
and we've been working closely um she sent me some designs over and I said I'd love to wear
some trainers like for a big game gets the visibility and it
just fit perfectly with the Barca game because the foundation was running that game and yeah
the words that she used on there were so powerful and I also want to be a role model for people to
be brave to be different like it's fine like it doesn't matter we're all unique in our own
wonderful ways and um being different is a positive and it's an advantage and you use
your differences to to better yourself you know it doesn't make you any less of a person doesn't
it shouldn't give you any less opportunities in life so it was just really really important and
the trainers were sick like they were so so cool i saw they look so cool yeah it's so so cool and
then i had vinnie's uh vinnie and harvey's
name on the inside because i want them to know that i represent them and that i'm proud of them
no matter what and they can still take any walk in life they want just just because you have adhd
or autism like you're not any different like you you still deserve like equal opportunities and
should be proud of it that's amazing and i think that's kind of like what we really started daily brightness for in the first place um exactly just raising awareness to
charities that are maybe under supported or you know things that maybe people are sometimes a
little bit taboo about so i think raising awareness to to things that are close to you is so important
especially with our platforms and to see your shoes they were plastered all over my feed and I absolutely loved it you know it just
made me feel really proud of you and obviously knowing how close that is to your heart as well
it's something that I think for me as an outsider stepping back looking at it it's just it's not
just the trainer it's the meaning behind it and how much you want to show your support and
raise awareness to things like that and all the work you're doing in the background so super proud of you for doing that that was daily brightness as
well as like mental health was a big thing for us but some disabilities you can't see mental health
you can't see you might be able to read triggers you might but nine times out of ten that person is
probably going to work every day probably saying yeah I'm great I'm fine I'm really really
good and then bang like something potentially something tragic happens like that's the extent
mental health goes to but it's the same with autism and ADHD it's you know it's a disability
that's not always seen so it was just yeah it's important to give representation and make it
visible yeah it's a massive part of daily brights and it's a
massive part of who we are as people and you know if we can represent people and and show them that
it's okay to be a little bit different then hopefully we improve society and make it a
better place because it can be pretty shitty sometimes let's be honest definitely well i'm
proud of you for doing that thanks bestie so i think going off the back of what we just discussed
then and you raising awareness around things that are important to us I think we can go into our
gratitude I think obviously last week we spoke about or last episode we spoke about starting a
new gratitude journal and saying three things we're grateful for and I think it's it's really
helpful for me I know it's massively helpful for me I've been doing it for a little bit
our player support Vic at Villa she was the one that got me started on it and it's massively helpful for me. I've been doing it for a little bit. Our player support, Vic at Villa,
she was the one that got me started on it
and it's just really helped me.
And I know you love stuff like that.
I'm fully down for it, bestia.
It's so important.
But we did receive a really nice message on Instagram.
So I'm going to read it to you.
I don't know if you know this,
but it made me excited
because everyone's getting on board with the gratitude.
Come on.
We'll keep it anonymous, but it said said i know this is unlikely to be read but i'm going through a really tough
time at work at the moment and your suggestion of gratitude and three things to be grateful for
has helped me loads tonight after a very hard tiring and emotional day so i just wanted to say
thank you and that you are making a big difference so Mills what are
your three gratitude for this week wow that really hit me in the heart then it's lovely isn't it yeah
my eyes are actually watering oh I have got hay fever but they haven't actually just watered I
feel but that's I feel really proud when I get when we get messages like that because it's you
know what just if we can help someone just some slight way then but that's what this is that's
what daily brightness is like
it's bringing everyone together and just yeah appreciating each other and appreciating life so
okay do we want to go one-on-one or do you want all three in one go yeah let's do one-on-one you
go first my first one i'm grateful for the support of my family they are they're in every tough moment every high every low they're
the first people that i turn to and i see them there no matter what they are yeah i just think
family are never to be taken for granted ever um and i'm really really lucky to have the support
that i do so that would be my first gratitude is my family love that mine little less little less
deep and emotional mine is the sun i am so grateful for the sun at the minute because
this weather is making me so happy i'm getting a tan in the garden i'm training in the sun
everybody's mood just lifts when the sun's out you know what i mean like if you go out to training the training you know maybe weather's shit like it's hard sometimes to get up for it yeah the
weather's out every single player on our team pretty much wore a vest today and i was like yes
girls the sun is out the sun is shining everyone's happy so i'm grateful for the sun it does bring
happiness regardless of anyone's problems the sun makes everyone smile so i'll give
you that that is good my second one is my dogs there's zero judgment no matter how shit your
day's been everything could be going wrong i come in that door the girls are whining oh they're so
excited if they would if they were speaking right this is what they'd be saying mommy we love you
so much we miss you so much i'm so glad you're home please walk us we've been trapped in all day
like play with me please please that's what i when i see my dogs that's what i think what accent
do you think they'd have northern of course they would do you reckon i feel like dex would be a bit
like spanish she'd be like hola mama como estas hola senor, hola, mama, como estas? Hola, señorita.
Hola, chica.
She's definitely Spanish.
I feel like Elsa would be dead rough like,
oye, mom.
She'd be like, shut up.
There she is.
What's dog in Spanish? What is dog in Spanish
what is dog in Spanish
el perro
el perro
that means shut up
that's nice
okay well I'm gonna
I'm gonna go back with that
and say the same thing
I'm very grateful for Dexy
she actually has to have
a little mini surgery on Friday
so I'm
does she
it's not really surgery that's so dramatic she. She's literally just got to go under the knife
because she's got to get her teeth cleaned because they are... A Zeus or something, you
know? Yeah, her breath is just... Oh, girl, you're stanky. Yeah, it's disgusting. So she's
going to get her teeth cleaned. Imagine we got put under the knife to get a polish. My
mum would probably have to because she's petrified of the dentist imagine that i'm just i'm just coming in for a scale and polish put me under yeah
so yeah i'm very grateful for dexy and like friday's gonna make me really sad having to
drop her off at nine and pick up a three oh she'll be fine though as soon as it comes into
training on a friday so it's gonna be a bit of a sad one but yeah i'm grateful for dexy as well
we're going really off off topic here sorry um that's fine love you Dexie I'll
be supporting you go Dexie gracias gracias gracias amiga okay my third gratitude Yorkshire
tea bags I love that because I'm sick of getting shit every single time we go places i'm like got a new yorkshire
tea and they go no you can just have an everyday breakfast i'm like it's not the same i don't want
pg tips i don't want tetley i don't want anything other than yorkshire tea yeah so it's from harrogate
as well game day guess what i did no yorkshire tea bags so i took my little self to the shop
got a big box of yorkshire tea and they went have you really
just been to the shop for one tea bag i went absolutely absolutely absolutely duh duh obviously
hence why i've got the bag of tea the big box of tea bags so yeah yorkshire tea can't go wrong
love it love that one cup of tea a day maybe two maybe two max but yeah love that it's only
yorkshire tea comes in this household yeah don't
come near me if you have anything else right my third thing i'm grateful for is my neighbor dave
right he came over last night just been away for the weekend and i texted him i was like dave i
need this fan fitting in my room like you know a ceiling fan with a light i got one of them and i
was like look please can you fit this for me and he was over in two seconds and fit that for me so I'm so grateful for him because my room is so hot at night and I just
wanted a nice night's sleep and I for anyone listening like I have to sleep with a bit of
noise like you know this yeah if it's too quiet she gets awkward yeah I can't I can't stand and
hear myself breathe or like my heart beating no thanks so the fan i've been having a little fan next to
my bed but it's not cutting it so i needed one right above my bed so it's just like blasting
on me in the night so i'm grateful for him coming over and fixing well if you could just send him
down i've got a couple shutters i need fixed i've got the blinds i need a new bed put in the spare
room honestly the amount of bodge jobs he's had to fix for me that i've made like i'm just like
dave help me help i love those though
