The Ricky Gervais Show / An Idiot Abroad - Xfm S1E11 (February 9, 2002)

Episode Date: September 2, 2022

The show ran between September 2001 and May 2002 before Gervais and Merchant went on hiatus to film the second series of ‘’The Office’’. Initially, Pilkington’s on-air presence was relativ...ely minimal compared to what it would become. Gervais and Merchant only occasionally called for Karl to weigh in with his thoughts, while the two mostly talked to each other, with the “links” between songs comprising only about 30 minutes of the show’s 2-hour run time.As Pilkington’s personality moved to the forefront, the talk portion of the show expanded to roughly an hour per 2-hour broadcast. While the show relied largely upon a stream-of-consciousness format, Pilkington made attempts to keep things more conventional by insisting on running contests and airing pre-recorded segments and regular “features”.

Basically, as far as I remember, they said that we knew even less about the music than the
Starting point is 00:01:12 DJs that are on in the week. Right. That's, I think, I think, I think, I think, I that, that, that's, that, that, that, that, that's, that's, that, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that can't know less than the people that are on me. I don't think so. I mean, I'm trying to multiply zero. You just end up with zero. It doesn't make sense. I checked with Steve Taylor, a man with the knowledge. He should know. But I pretty, I don't think that's really annoying. It's so annoying because I'll tell you this, we are passionate about the music and we do know what we do wen. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. It's just just just thi. It's just thi. thi thi. It's just thi. It's just th. It's just th. I just the service we're given with the nine CDs that are on the playlist every man. There's a piece of paper here. The car's looking at me like he's thinking oh no we're going to go. You've given away the magic. We've given away the magic. We've got a bit details so for instance White Stripes this is the next single off white blood cells February 2002. Now it sounds like we know about the music. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the music. the music. the music. the music. the music. the the music. the the music. the music. the the the music. the music. the the music. the the the the music. the music. the music. the music. the music. the music. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the the. the the the about the music. We've made that off a piece of paper. Exactly. Whereas when we say about music and we're wrong, at least we,
Starting point is 00:02:06 it's because we didn't know. Exactly. See? All right. Don't criticize us. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Look. . Let me just. I don't want to criticize that tra.. to. to. to. to. the. the. to. the. to. the. to. the. to. the. to. to. to. to. the. the. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to...............................................................................................................................................................................'s all the old ones. I don't want to criticize there, but if I was listening and I'd enjoyed that track and I wanted to know what it was, I wouldn't have understood what you just said. Really? Could you just say that again? Low fidelity?
Starting point is 00:02:32 Low fidelity, because you went, low fidelity. I was doing me, I was doing you're a DJ. You're a touch too much, look at him, listen to him, crinchling his little crinchling? You're not crinchling your jammer cakes, are you? He got some going out on air. No one knew. I bet you're one of those people in cinemas that think you're being really quiet eating a bag of crisps. Aren't you? Do you go to cinemas? I haven't been for a bit, actually. What do you do, Carl? to, Carl, you? What would you do to occupy your time? Uh, like...
Starting point is 00:03:08 Your hobbies, for instance. Might get a video out from Prime Time. Right? What, what, what, what, would you enjoy that or would it just be a chore for you? No, no, I think, things like that. You really hate doing that. That's when you really switch off and you forget all your problems and stuff. Why you haven't got any problems? You haven't got any problems Carl? You don't know that I put on a face when I'm with you. You're wearing a mask. Are you crying inside? This is you being the happiest you can be you're like
Starting point is 00:03:35 a clown aren't you? Oh you think I'm like a hard, miserable man? Because I'm I don't think you're hard and like I said to him I can't watch the elephant man because Oh God you're the best you don't know you're doing it you're the best can you watch it Well, when it gets that bit where they carried him through the village and I'm messing about with his head Do you know like this is true my dad watched that once? I'm watching it my mom and my sister and that we're all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all all th was th was th was th. th. th. th. th. I was just thi. I was just th. I was just th. I was just th. I was just th. I was just th. I was just thi. I was just, my mom and my sister were all quite moved by almost ridiculous. I was thinking it was a wonderful example of man's in humanity to man and all that. And my dad just went, wouldn't he make an amazing novelty rucksack? And it cheapened for me and I've never had this sort of eaves.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Steve was thinking, he's not that ugly. Here we go, we were laughing Carl. Can we focus focus, t, t, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. there, there, there, thereen, thereen, thi, thi, thi, theree, theree, thereen, thereen, th. th. Let's destroy him, friend. Oh God, tell them what you said to me when that record was playing about the Jeffacac... He handed it, he's bought some Jaffa Cakes, he was lovely, he went across the road and he handed the Jaffa Cakes, thanks very much. And then what did you say? of the illness because it's not funny but um they cure cancer. Jaffa cakes cure a cancer? Not like fully.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Right, they just go some way to help him. Yeah, do you know, um, it'll sort of help. If you've got it, you can't say right, get me a load of Jaffa cakes. Right. But I think it sort of puts a bit of a stop to it if you haven't got it. Do you know what I mean mean mean mean mean mean mean mean mean mean mean mean mean mean mean mean mean I mean I mean I mean, I mean, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the thi thi the the thi. It's just just just just just just tha-a puts a bit of a stop to it if you haven't got it. Do you know what I mean? It's like having vitamin tablets. Is this medically agreement? Should we get Dr. Fox down here to confirm that? Like, I can't, I actually can't cope. You're just, play a record, play a record.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Can I just, if anyone has ever survived cancer, the orange thing in it. And then he read, he tried to read it, he said, I wonder if it's, and he tried to read out this scientific name. I love him. It's great, isn't it? Yeah, really good. I think I was really good. Yeah. Because I always had a problem with Gomez before because it always sounded like they were trying
Starting point is 00:05:45 to sound like these world weary Tom Wait style gravely voice. And they were 20. And they were like and they were like 14 yeah. Yeah but I mean that's great. That's great. That's great. Well I mean. Well, that's it's good done boys. Yeah. Well, well. Yeah, the they. Yeah, they. Yeah, they. Yeah, they. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What are we saying that? Well you know why? Because we met him and he's a lovely man. We did meet him, yes. And I just, I remembered all the great songs he's ever done. I didn't like his spoken word much too, you know, too much and some of his later projects I thought were a little bit. But his own songs from you know, you know, their th so th so th so th so th so th so th so th so th so th so th so th so thin so thin so thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi tho tho tho. Was it because we won another bloody award?
Starting point is 00:06:31 Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, dear. We've got one of those. Oh, dear. We've got the other one he let me have it so he's got no award in his house at all. Can I um you can borrow it? I don't know if you I don't know who you talking to someone I spoke to Richard Wilson from one foot in the grave I spoke to him yeah I've sacked him yeah but he said to me like could I to do a nice go but he said to me he he could could could could could could could could could could could could could could could could could could could could the he he he he he he he he he could he he he could he he he could he he he could he could he could he to to to to to he could to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to he could could could I to he could I to he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he the the the the the the the the the th the the tho he the the the the the the tho the the the to to to to to to to to to to to come in as a cleaner and go I don't believe it and he looked at me like like why have you said that
Starting point is 00:07:07 or why have I brought that? I felt so I felt so I so wanted to apologize. I'm sorry. We know we know it's wrong to do that. I don't know why I said it? We know do it. Do we think no it's different for me? Exactly. I'm in the business. I'd go, you know that's the best I don't believe it comments I've ever heard. I don't know what I was thinking. Oh why did you? Oh you didn't tell me that? I know I felt ashamed I felt really ashamed. I was a little bit drunk I wasn't thinking straight. Oh no no. I saw a friend of mine who said uh who was it was he said he was watching it was a sports cast was it was a commentator and he was he he he he he he said he said he said he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was a he he was a he he was a he was a he was a he was a he was a he was he was a he was a he was a he was he was a he was he was he was he was he was he was he was was was was he was was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was a he was a he was a he was a he was a he was a he was a was a was a was a was a was a was a sports. he was a was a was a was a was a was a was a was a was a was a was a s. he was a was a was a was a was a he was a was a was a sports. he was a he was a was a he. he was a sports cast, it may have been Formula One racing or something like that. And he was right, there was a commentator and he, you know, the commentator's got to keep talking all the time. And he was, yeah, and there's the team there, oh good to see so and so and so, he saw, and it cut to Richard Wilson in the audience and he went, and the blo He knew he had to say it there, but he couldn't even name all the character. That's fantastic. And there's one foot in the grave.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Oh dear. That'd be brilliant. And there's the office. I don't know. What, you're putting us alongside one foot in the grave? What's it's been going like 10 years and one of us? and all this, you're putting us alongside, it beat us, Steve, get over it. It beat us in the comedy awards. No, I was just saying that you're an identifiable face if you're at a Formula One event, you know, old, grumpy.
Starting point is 00:08:31 One foot in the grave. Yeah, one foot in the grave, exactly. Anyway, Carl, any thoughts before we move on? On anything we've said so far. Well I'd like to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play the to play to play the to play to play the to play the to play the the th. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. that. that. that. that. that. I ready for not yet I'm just saying what do you know his dad is Declis McMannus no Declis mucclan McManus it was a big bandleader in the 50s or something was he no it was in the whites lemonade ad oh oh was he oh no it's so much do with that good so so we're catering there to the audience listening who are 50 and a about I don't am the target audience.
Starting point is 00:09:08 I'm a secret a lemonade drinker. Ah, whites, the whites lemonade. You must remember that. Never heard that. Oh, those chimps that drink tea. Oh. Once right, in school, we had a French dictionary, and you know, um, the ice, their their their, their, their, their, their, th and their, th and think, cold coat coke on the back of my throat singing hello summertime it's the real thing remember that no oh you were we there we translated into French that's that the end of the story yeah that's the end of the story but I know it in
Starting point is 00:09:38 French do it but it doesn't make sense we just literally did the word go on the word I can't believe you remember this. Tresfois coaxe, le the derail, among chante, bonjo, estimel tum, so the French. That's the only French you now, isn't it? It's not even French! We just did it word for word, it doesn't make any sense. Can you say another word for than that? Is there anything else you learn at school that you can remember word for word? No? Nothing? No? The Shah is the mule of your honor. I don't just mean French, I mean anything.
Starting point is 00:10:12 English? What do you mean? What do you mean? Go ahead, quote a bit of poetry for me? Um, like what? What? What do you want? Qua-What? What do you want? Qua? What? What? A a the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Quo? Quo? Quo? Quo? Quoer th. Quo? Quo? Quoer? Quo? Quo? Quo? Quo? Quo? Quo? Quo? Quo? Quo? Quoer th is tho? Quo? Quo? Quo? What, Shakespeare doesn't count? No, because that's the rate, everyone knows that one. Oh, go, and what then? What, what then? What, what then? Anything you can remember from school that you learned that you had to maybe memorize? Not necessarily French. You can be anything, anything you can remember. There's going to be anything you remember from school, apart from the orange stuff stops cancer. It's not the cough that carries you off in.
Starting point is 00:10:55 It's a cougain the carry you off in. It's like a clear. Beatles Revolution was that clear? Yes it was, yes. Yeah, good. We've got to speed this up because we know. It's funny because our first link when we had to go at the library and the playlist, when we played a record, Carl went, usually do it at the end when you've run out of stuff. So we started with what's usually our worst bit of material so I think we've got
Starting point is 00:11:28 to turn this show round. Carl's been holding this together to be honest. It's Carl's beautiful naivety and can I can't say it Carl in a nicest way stupid. Yes that are keeping the list and they-stuptu. I'm only joking, I'm only joking mate. Of course you're not stupid. Everyone knows you're not stupid. You're sincere and that can sometimes be, you know, frowned upon in this cynical world. Would you say you've learned stuff from me in the past few weeks? Definitely. Definitely, definitely, definitely. Rather like a scientist learns like a injected mice.
Starting point is 00:12:06 No, but I've learned from you about ants and stuff. I think every week, as weeks go on, I feel like... We're learning from each other. I'm learning more now than I do when I was at school. And can I just clarify? You weren't raised as an experiment and you've escaped from a laboratory. You are, you had regular upwringing in Manchester in that. I didn't go to school much much my mom and dad had a caravan.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Right. No need is there? No need when you got that sort of fun at home. I used to just go away for weeks. Really? Is that true? Yeah, honestly. Where's used to go? Port Madduck. But you didn't go to school much? No, I did, but not as much as much as as. as. as. as. as. as. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to too. to to too. tooom? too. to to to to to to to to to to to to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. to me. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe go to school much? No, I did, but not as much as everyone else. No. How many holidays were your parents having? What was their income that they could...
Starting point is 00:12:50 No, my dad used to work nights and he used to travel back because to Manchester from Wales it wasn't that far. Manchester to Wales? He used to do four on and four off. So me and me and ma'am were like we we we But what what's, what, what, Port Meredith? Port Maddock. Port Maddock. Just down the road from Portmaryon, where they filmed the prisoner. Right?
Starting point is 00:13:10 Oh, so that's cleared out for me. Yeah, location-way. So what did you do then? You're in this little two-birth caravan. Right. Four Granada. Four Granada. Starting point is 00:13:47 normally for holidays anyway, let's say, I don't know, you go to school 45 weeks of the year maybe, generally most kids? A bit less than that. How many weeks would you say you actually spent in school? Well how many weeks you have off forthat's about six off for summer, about three for Easter, about three for Christmas. Put it this way, I'm surprised not Welsh, to be honest. Right. Still there more than was in Manchester. Did they not, did the school authority not come and check in their toy?
Starting point is 00:14:11 Did they not? Did they not, did they not, I didn't thrown it, I suppose, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I suppose, I suppose, I suppose, I suppose, I suppose, I suppose, I suppose, I suppose, I suppose, I suppose, I don't that, I suppose, I suppose, I'm tho, I'm to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thr-a, I thr-a, I'm thr-a, I'm thr-a, thr-a, thr-a, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, throoooooooooothat when you could take it any game? Just play with everyone else's. Why, you know, I break my stuff. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. That's good point. Well this answers a lot. This does answer a lot. The fact that you spent most of your time on the beach as a kid. Teachers were no good at my school. We're talking about it yesterday. So you were teaching them a lesson. So. So the lesson. So. So. So. So. So. So their their. So. So. So. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. I. I. I. I. I their. I their. I their. I their. I their. I'm. I'm. I. I their. I. No. When did he leave school? When I was about 15. Right. What? You just went on the holiday and didn't come back? I just got a job early didn't I? Where was it? Port Maddo? No, I was a printer. B. A primint in Trafford Park. Well that's great.that's the little interview there. Yeah, next I'll be interviewing Steve Merchant. What we're playing next? A bit of Elbow. Oh, this is fantastic. This is Albo.
Starting point is 00:15:10 I think that is absolutely beautiful. I think Albo are my favorite new group. We've sang their praises many times and they never have phone in the back. I think that is absolutely beautiful. I think Albo are my favourite new group. We've sang their praises many times and they've never phoned to thank us. Should they? Yes. Do they? Really? Really? Annoying? No, they're doing a good job there. I wonder if they found their lyrics. Because I also wanted to write a song from, didn't I? They didn't they they they they they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they they didn't they didn't they didn't they they they they they they they they didn't they're they didn't they didn't. Starting point is 00:15:51 Now we interviewed Carl there. I think we've learned a little bit more about Carl there. And I'm going to interview Steve now, Carl. Because I used to be concentrating. it all in at once. Carl chew. Chew before you swallow. Careful. All right. I used to suffer with that a lot. What? Not chewing? The amount of times nearly died as a kid. What? Forgetting to chew? Choke him. Sure. Mint and Imperials. My mom stopped drinking them with water. She's off to hide them. He's coming out of his shower, isn't he? He's happy sat. He's miserable all week and he's happy. He's all all all all all all. He. He. He. He. He. He's. He's. He's. He's. Starting point is 00:16:31 at him! It's like we get him weekends. Yeah, yeah. And he's happy because we sort of spoil him, don't we? And he has javelin' he's gone with his stepmom again in the week. Oh no. Oh no. Oh really? Your girlfriend does, doesn't she? And she? And she? And she? And she? She thiiii. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi? He's thi? But you know, you know, we love you, don't you? We're excited.
Starting point is 00:16:54 We talk about you in the week and we, you know, we think you're great. So don't just think we're using you as a cac-c-hoseose, to the to to to to to to to the to to the to tho-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-I imagine, I imagine, I've thu, I imagine, I imagine, I imagine, I imagine, I imagine, I imagine, I imagine, I imagine, I imagine, I imagine, I imagine, I've thin, I imagine, I've thin, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, going to interview Steve, you know because I used to be a chat show host. Well, I am a chat show host. Well, did you see you meet Ricky Javais? No. I worked on it and I didn't watch it. That's true, that's terrible. No one watched it. What you?
Starting point is 00:17:14 You know, you know, because, we should say that more often. Yes. Rikage Vase. Because they might tune, I think they've got a hospital radio by a mistake. Yeah, Rickardie's. Yeah, okay, Steve Merchant, great to be here. Hi. Now, you're a very tall man, if I might say. You're a six foot seven, aren't you? A few jokes here and there, a gentle ribbon but not the two problems. What's the weather like up there? Well exactly. Skinny, you're that sort of like.
Starting point is 00:17:46 Oh you're lanky. Oh dear. And uh, but uh, what about the glasses? Well, I wear glasses, but again, they were really a problem, you know. They didn't throw the that's the best of fruit. Okay, okay, and then you left school, you left school, you went to university? There were you called Freaky, Frike-Four-Git? Are you sure?
Starting point is 00:18:14 They've never been called it. Where you called, the thr-Inake-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-fffffffffffff. fish face is your touch coming back is this what you said i never watched is this what you said to people like i mean you had some big names on there didn't you tony heart yeah that blok off ground force well the problem was they'd either heard me or they hadn't either way they were it was a problem it was a problem it was a problem what you say was the biggest name you had They're all dead now. Probably the youngest one survived.
Starting point is 00:18:46 I think Penny Smith is still with us. Right. Yeah. Biggest name? You had Savil. Tim Saville? You had Daniels, Paul. Yeah, Paul Daniels, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:56 But which was the biggest name would you say that show? But it was not coming back though. that you had on the show from the 1970s. Peter Pervis, of course. It was a joy. No, but that's just... But it's not coming back though that show. It, no, not, not in that form. Channel 4 wanted to see some changes. What sort of changes? What sort of changes?
Starting point is 00:19:16 Right. Now I'm going to play a lovely track. Thanks Steve Merrick. I'm going to play a lover train, but I obviously said I think one of his first hits may have even be his first hit back in the 70s. This is Red Shoes. Zinger meets Spray apparently. I've never heard of him. Sounds good. It's spout spry though but the car reckons it's spray.
Starting point is 00:19:35 Song too. A cover of Blurse. Zinger meets Spray apparently. I've never heard of them. Sounds good. It's spout Spray though but the car reckons it's Spray. Song 2, a cover of Blurse song too. Yes. You wouldn't recognise it. In a dub version? No. In an old school reggae dub style. Nice. Big them up. Yeah, it's not bad filled up three minutes Before that I was still a red shoes lovely what a great song debut was it debut single I think so I'm I might I'm a first one I remember of it but you probably give Elvis a call when we in you know yeah yeah he's a power now yeah yeah yeah they all the celebrity yes yes the celebrity yes you um what because you tell me they. Starting point is 00:20:25 I don't know if you're happy to mention it what your forthcoming TV appearance Oh, yeah, oh yeah, I was invited I don't use to do these things. Yeah, but I sort of quite like the show I've watched it for a while so on in room one. Have you seen this car? Do you know that? the show. Have you the you you you you you the the the the the the room th. Have you th. Have you th. Have you the the the th. No. Who is it? Paul Merton? God is he still around? I've seen him for ages. He's probably going to be a great paler mind come Tuesday. No, it's certainly. I mean, that doesn't make any difference? No. Have you got all the channels tuned in right on music? Poor Merton's a huge star? He's on all the time. Yeah. No, is he a heck. Yeah, he's on there. Have I got news for you and all the rest of it? What's the rest of it?
Starting point is 00:21:09 Well anyway, look, room 101 is the show. Room 101. Is the show where you put into put in? Is the show where you right yeah, switch off now if you don't want to hear what Ricky Javes is going to put in room 101. I don't know, just things that irritate me. Like, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I'm just thinking, I'm just thinking it's just wondering, like, I don't know if there's a little case there of the pot calling the kettle black because you are the most annoying man ever in the history of all things. I've met a lot of people in my life I like to think, even everyone.
Starting point is 00:21:51 I mean, everyone. I mean, I went to school with, I mean, an evil man would throw things at people when you know the teachers just throw stuff are. Just the fact that you're just crunching up a plastic spoon now as we talk. It's annoying. It's annoying. Yeah I know but. Oh. You're just so irritating. You're always making the little noise. Just little sounds all the time. We're working here. We're working today. We're working in this and I always typically ty this this this this this this this this this. It. It. It that. It is to end up with an elastic band between his teeth, right? And he was flicking it so it was making a noise, bung, bun, bung, buong. What will you see? He was just going, the rain on Spain, falls mainly on the plain. The rain in Spain, the rain stays mainly on the plane. Just kept up, hit him on the nose. Just kept kept, right, right, right, right, just, just, just, just, the the the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, and he, and he, and he, and he was, and he was, and he was, and he was the the the the the the the, and he was the, and was the, and he was the, and he was the the the the the the, and he was, and he was the, and he was the, and was the, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, and was, was, was, was, was, was. And, was. And, was. And, was. And, was. And, was the, was. And, was the, was the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. doing, what you're up to? He went, oh sorry. Try to wrap the elastic band round his face, right? It flips up, hit him in the nose. Right, he screamed because her, obviously came quite tight. And he said to me, he said, if I can flip this elastic band and hit your glasses,
Starting point is 00:22:54 right? Not, not your face, but if I can hit your glasses, my feet. He went, well why don't you cover up the skin on your face, your nose and everything, with some paper, which he did! Yeah, just to keep you happy. And then he flicked it, I mean, he flicked it to him. He ran off screaming, swearing at me, swearing at me. Well, don't fight me. I was saying, don't it. I was childish. Retaliation is childish. I did. I did it first it first it first. I did it. I did it. I did it. tha. tha. tha. tha. th. th. th. thiiiiiol. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. Yeah. thi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. thi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It. It. It. Yeah. It. Yeah. It's. It's. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I th. th. I. th. Yeah. I th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I that people who just like I can't stand noisy is people who go no no like that and and and people eat in crisp as I said before people in crisps in cinemas. Well anyone's making noise in the cinema it's an absolutely I know are they must be mental they've gone to see a film there's people they don't know everyone everyone's paid eight quid and they're away. I'm leaving their phones on. There was a 16 year old girl took a phone call in the cinema, the film was running, she said and she went hi yelling in the cinema, started having
Starting point is 00:23:48 a conversation on the phone. I was thinking, how important is this call that you've got to receive? Oh it's Tokyo ringing, Mr. Yakimoto's there, the deal's going through. It's Saturday, it's Saturday afternoon. I just was so. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. I, I'm their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. But I was in the cinema, this was not, it's not long ago and I went to see that film, Crouchin Tiger, Hidden Dragon or whatever it's called. Do you know they... Well they could be on the phone for that because it's subtitles. It's not th it's not th it's not th it's not thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thu thu thu thu thi's not thi. It's not thi. But thing my big fat woman no but he's got a good point there loads of people could be on the phone in there and it wouldn't sort of niggle you fine well at least we've cleared imagine that was true because well it's like when you go on the tube
Starting point is 00:24:32 and read a paper there's loads of noise but you can still concentrate can't you he's got you do that's such a great point in it's right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th I I I I I I's th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. th. the the the the thrown. the thrown. the. the. the. that's that's thrown. that's that's that's that's that's that's realism world you know with all the sound effects and music and surging exciting noise that and there's a woman clatter on going yeah well I'll probably meet you later Stange should we get some diamond white in and around by the park yeah yeah yeah we'll the chock yeah the the the the thereys I the the thereys I do it's the process that between the rain that you can switch off so we can still still you you you the the the they they the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th is th i th i th is th is th is th is th is to th is th is th is th is th is th is to th is th is th is th so so so so so so so to to to th so so so so to to to th is is is is is to to th is is th is to to th is is is is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is the the the the the the the the the the the the th is th is the the th is thin is three. thr thrown. thrown. thrown. thrown. thrown. thrown. thrown. thrown. the. thrown. thrown. the. the. It's the process that between the ears and the rain that he can switch up. So we can still hear with these things like a cat. But I was in the one. There's this woman sitting next to me. She was to a big phone one. She's crunching on some popcorn. Again, that's a crime. Why they're selling popcorn in cine. I trailer for that film AI, Artificial Intelligence, came on, do you remember that? And the tagline was, David is 11 years old, he weighs 60 pounds, he's four foot six inches tall, he has brown hair, his love is real, but he is not. Oh yeah. And she just went, how old was he again? To her boyfriend, right? Just ruin the war film. Right. the trailer trailer comes on for some, Paul. to some, to some, to some, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. the the th. th. th. He, th. He, th. He, the th. David, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. David, th. He's th. He's the movie. War film trailer comes on for some Pearl Harbor or something. She goes, yeah, don't fancy that. Just announcing this, don't fancy that, too many war films.
Starting point is 00:25:47 So then the trailer, then the opening credit comes on for Crichton Tiger. And before that, you know that's thing that comes up that says it's signed by is it it? I thought this was the most famous foreign film for years it won Oscars it was a huge film everyone knew as foreign she goes it it was a foreign he was a credit speaking it says crutching toge hindragan she went stupid name for a film what is she just wanted to see it she was with her boyfriend. So then it starts, right? Obviously it's in Japanese or Mandarin or something. She's like, and they're doing that, they're all talking in Japanese Japanese. Japanese or Mandarin. Whatever it, so they're speaking in this, you know, Japanese or Oriental language, and she's going, don't they sound stupid? Don't they sound stupid? And then the subtitles come up and it's quite a weird kind of strange language they're thir and she. and she. and she. And she they're they're they're they're they're they're going. And she, and she, and she, and she, and she, and she, and she, and she's they're they're they're they're they're they're saying, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so they're s' they're so they're so they're so they're s' they're speaking, so they're so, so they're so, so, so, so they're so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so they're they're s' they're s' they're s' they're s' they're speaking, so, so, so they're speaking, so, so, so they're speaking, so they're speaking, so they're speaking, they're speaking step of the film. I totally agree with you, but what I like in your telling of it, I know you're getting quite most givid. But she
Starting point is 00:26:51 went Mandarin or Japanese, some more of a language. Well I don't know what else. It's a strange language. I said, strange language. Oh dear. So then I moved, I climbed over several seats, made a big huff of, you know, make a telling their their their their their their their th. I th. I th. I their thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I was lit. I was, I was lit. I was like, I don't want to, I don't even think of it.
Starting point is 00:27:17 It's subtile isn't it? Yeah, I should have thought that through Carl. You're absolutely right. Yeah, let's play Lamb Chop. This is brilliant. This is from this CD that came out recently with the Uncut magazine. Occasionally they put out some quite interesting free CDs. And this was one that had various covers of Rolling Stone songs. And a lot of them were quite shoddy, but this was a brilliant, especially done, I think, for the CD. It's Lamb Chop doing a version of quite an obscure Rolling Stone song called Back Street Girl. It's just beautiful. Let's hear. Danny Warhols, get off. Getting a little bit blase now. Steve's just wandered off to make the tea. He's talking to Dermott. He's not really, is he? Yeah. Is he just down there? Can make the tea. He's talking to Dermot. Can he? Is he?
Starting point is 00:28:05 Is he just down there? Can he hear this? No. That is a bit shoddy, isn't it? I'm going to see Pop Idol's night. Yeah. Yeah. Who do you coach with his head on the side. Yeah. I mean, how long has he been around? Was he an accident? No, but do you know like those ones that footballers have? Big heads?
Starting point is 00:28:35 No, they don't really big coaches. I mean, he's only a small coach. I mean, big coach. I mean, he's only a big. he he he he he he he he he he he he he he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he. A big coach, he's head on the side and he came in and he's like... His picture on the side. Yeah. Yeah. Right. And about 200 kids screaming and going mental for him. Really? I just don't think it's right. No, it's not. I mean it's been around for what? A couple of weeks. And the way the way the way the way the way the way the way the way the way th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to thi. And the way everyone keeps going on about his stuttering... What do you think they should really construct on worshiping worthy sort of things like S Club 7 and A1 and... Look, where have been around for a year? So you pick on me when Steve's not around. Well, you're a joke, in it? Here he comes. Here he comes, here he comes. Yeah. What's going on here? Well you were late. What were you meant to do? You're playing on the record? Oh we can't possibly go on without Steve. Oh we need sting.
Starting point is 00:29:33 What? Hey, what? Dude, that's the reason you shouldn't do it without me. That meant nothing. Probably I have a good reason not to let you have this cup of tea. Thanks. Thanks. Cheers. Thanks. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. C. Thanks. Cheers, thanks. Just saying that Carl thinks all this nonsense about Pop Idol is a little bit sort of shallow because they've not been around long enough to be worshipped by children. Unlike Santa Claus, who's been around well for forever. He was in Lesser Square and a big coach of his own. Who was? Gareth, he's only a small lad, biggest coach I've ever seen. A coach? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Well, those like National Express coaches. He'd just probably come down from wherever it is he lives. No, no, with his head on the side. No, no, with his head on the side. What? We went through this. His own coach. Was he driving it? Was he really nasty? We can't have a toilet break yet. You had a chance. Sit down. Wait, can we get the services. I'm finishing this fag and then we're moving on.
Starting point is 00:30:34 If you're not back from the toilets, I'm gone. Yeah. It's a lovely restaurant here. All right, Jeff. Yeah, what you know. It wouldn, yeah well I don't know my brother in law or anything. Um yeah it wouldn't have been it wouldn't have been quite as snappy as that if he'd been saying all that that no. No, no, no. No, no. Well that's said everyone keeps talking about the stuttering but they never go on about his asthma. And he's got they're right we should attack the asthma. Do you think he's how that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's having that's having that's having that's having that's having that's having that's having that's having that's having that's having that's having that's having that's that's that's that's their that's their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. that's that's their. that's their. that back. that back. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. th. th. they. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. he's trying to, that's a therapy. Carl, that's him trying to breathe in order to help him speak. That's a therapy. Have you guessed about the asthma? I thought you thought is asthma was because he goes,
Starting point is 00:31:16 that's him, he has to do that to get over the, that's a therapy. You haven't got bad asthma then. What if you ever have kids? Maybe he hasn't got asked me. When you cross a rope, don't bother looking both ways. Let's walk straight across. I love that. I'm like a doctor saying that. Oh, not asthma.
Starting point is 00:31:34 No, he does that. I've got a story about breathing heavily after this next record. Very good. Farah Munch, got you. Although Steve thinks it's Faramunk. It makes more sense, don't you think? Monch is a bit of a rubbish word, whereas Monk. B'n'n'r'e'n'e think? Monsch is a bit of a rubbish word, whereas monk, brilliant. Yeah, but it's not discuss it.
Starting point is 00:32:08 No, let's not get into a big high-falutin, yeah, exactly. They can call themselves what they want. That's up to them. And good luck to them. Yeah, good guys. This is what I started it until he said there was a young kid being screamed at by kids because he had his own coach with his head on the side. You know we did, you did sort of like...
Starting point is 00:32:31 I don't know why you're going to their throwing there, Rick, because you know who's going to be Gareth and there's no necessarily. Oh it is. No, don't even fool you're trying to and Darius has got like a million and a half. Now I don't think the Darius vote was sort of like the Gareth thought of floating voters. Because he you know because he's a cute kid and everything and he's sort of like looks like a pop idol and you know but he's not as good a musician I think maybe when people went for Darius they were a bit. They were a bit kitch but I think they might. Do you. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th the th. the the th. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their. their. their. their. their. their., I bet Gareth a win. Exactly. You see? You may as will stay home, Rick. You just want to go to meet PJ and Duncan. Yeah, they call themselves out on deck nowadays. Well, fair enough. They're my favorite.
Starting point is 00:33:13 They'll always be PJ and Duncan they're brilliant. They're brilliant. They are brilliant. They're the best presenters. But it seems to me there's no one there there's no the the they's no they's no they's no to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to there's anyone really. No. I can honestly say if they're being honest that they don't like Ant and Debt. It's like there's no one else like it. Phoning if you don't like Ant and Dets. And I'd like to, yeah, I'd like to hear your arguments for it because I did. And I'm not saying about this ironically, oh I like a couple of kids presenters, well, we love Out and Dix. Did you see in the week there was a, no what's his name, the fellow that Dominic Mohan in the sun, he's the kind of entertainment guy, yeah, and he had sort of ten questions, ten questions that should be answered about Pop Idol, because he thinks you know, everyone's got a vested interest in Garth, Dareth, d'a, d'a, d'a'a, and their, and their, and their, and their, and their, and their, and their, and their, and their, and th, and th, and th, and th, and, and, and, and, and, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, their, th, th, th, th, th... the the the the the the the the, he's, he's. It's because he's nervous, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:34:05 Yeah. We've answered that one for you, Dominic. He was trying, you realized that he'd written a list and he didn't really have enough to fill up ten. Although you, you were nasty about his start, you said it annoys you. No, I'm not arguing that. Oh, the stuttering though. Really annoys because it's just embarrassing, it's cringe-worthy. See, the thing is this, I know people say, oh, it shouldn't be, it shouldn't be an issue, right?
Starting point is 00:34:28 We're talking about a pop idol. Now, everyone accepts the fact that he's got to be a good-looking guy to be a pop idol. We all accept that, and I also want him to be a topiophop speak to be to be to be to be also be a local fascism. Yeah, but there's not a trauma if you don't look like a pop star. There is a trauma if you can't speak normally. So it's a much bigger issue. What do you mean a trauma? Well, yeah, of course it is. think that a lot of people get abuse if they're ugly. I mean I guess in. I'm assuming that's a case. Well I can't speak very well. I don't know if that's a case. We've made one great pop star between us. My looks and your talkie. Although you sound like some sort of weird words or... I'm not trying to be a pomp idol. People could idolize me in their own small ways.
Starting point is 00:35:25 Oh dear. Oh God, look at us three. Imagine if we try to be like BB Mac or light funky ones. I'm just thinking of like three good looking guys. Genesis. Did I mention about when we were in America? Did I mention that last week? The police?
Starting point is 00:35:39 No? Did I mention this to you, Carl? Oh, sure I mentioned it last week? Yeah. When I was in America at a wedding, we went to a wedding with some friends, we were walking through America, five of us walking down the street in New York and a car pulls up and some Chinese tourists lean out and they went to us, excuse me, are you N-Sink? And we said, yes we are. And they were takingaller than the other. Which number of Ensink is two foot taller than all the rest? Don't Chinese people like tall people or something?
Starting point is 00:36:10 Right, play record. No, no, no, because it's... I don't think you know what you're talking about, like, Carl, we're likely to get in dangerous territory. I'm short, I'm short. Do you know like I was... Phone in if you're Chinese and you like two people. What worries me is that when they did Chinese lessons, you were down the beach in Wales. In Ruth Maddock? Paul Maddock? Paul Maddock?
Starting point is 00:36:35 Oh, do you want to play Lou Reed? Oh, this is song for the lovers. It's a beautiful track. It's satellite love. It's classic. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thine thine tha' thine thin' thin' thin' thine thine. thine. thine. thine. thine. thine. thine. thine. Oh, tha' tha' tha' tha' tha' tha'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'er. Oh, tha'a'a'a'er. Oh, it's gorgeous, it's Lou Reed. Rick, can I dedicate this to someone? Go on then. Carl, you shouldn't have, you shouldn't have pressed the button. Well, his daddy's doing his job. You shouldn't have said, can I dedicate this to someone? We've had a letter. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Sophie wants to dedicate aed to people's song. Don't ruin it this time Carl. How to ruin a song? Rick is your vase? Do you want to explain what you were doing? I was just singing along to the back circle. Oh, brilliant. How to ruin a song? Because of these? Do you want to explain what you were doing? I was just singing along to the back circle. Not just singing along. Doing it like a mental. Well, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, to to to to to to the to the the the the to, the to, the the the to the to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Just give a surprise. Well, I haven't got to be headphones. I've got to do it in time, I haven't been finished.
Starting point is 00:37:33 It's finished man. And it was just going, when Bowie, well, I'm going to say, sa-Illi I was going to go, ah, ah, who you on in room 101 you're gonna put irritating people But it's so much nice what I could I used to find down that little thing and climbing yourself Yeah, yeah, maybe you know they have sort of a visual representation of the thing that irritates them they always have that like Shakespeare's head yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Oh dear oh dear oh? Starting point is 00:38:14 go I would have to shoot off now right oh oh oh oh I'll finish off I'll Oh dear. Oh you can't do that. We've cheapened that song. You've ruined that song forever for me. No I haven't. But it's six. See the thing about Lurie is because of Perifect A, just a genius song. But we can never play it now, can we? Because of that BBC. No, because I'll tell you what, what's her name coming in at the end, M people, Oh, that, ah, a thing she does with a voice. It's actually like that song, there's a couple of songs that have kind of, like I always remember, and who's that one that goes, um, it's such a perfect day?
Starting point is 00:38:55 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's a song. Any other songs? Starting point is 00:39:31 We nearly lost it then a little bit, but I think we pulled it back. It's okay. No, we had a fascinating fact that we were going to support America. Oh yeah, tho tho tho tho thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, tho, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, th. We can coordinate this, we can get the sun involved or something, everyone, a billion, 1.2 billion or something, jumped up at the same time. Shut up, you know, you're not saying this clearly enough. It would cause a tidal wave that would destroy America, if every person in China jumped up at the same time, th. th. th. th., th. th. th. th. It, th. It, th. It, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, tho, tho, to thi. It, thi, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. They th. It every person in China jumped up at the same time, that would cause a tider wave that would destroy America, apparently, according to physics.
Starting point is 00:40:08 According to physics? I don't believe it. I'm not, we're not making this up. We both know this as a fact. We're not making it up. We've heard it, but obviously, I don't know what that's, I don't, I, I, I, I, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't know, I don't that, I don't know, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I don't that, I don't that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's than, I don't that, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know? No, you know the atomic bomb and all that. Yeah, forget it. Forget it. If everyone in China jumped them down, they'd wipe us out. Right. You know what I mean? See, there should be some Chinese either just threatening them with that. Yeah, just showing them a picture of everyone just poise. Just pictures of pictures. Just pictures of China people. Just pictures of p p p their their their their their their their their their their their just. Just pictures of their just th. Just pictures of th. Just pictures of th. Just pictures of th. About to be brilliant. Oh dear.
Starting point is 00:40:47 Look at God, he's dumbfounded, he's scared now, isn't there? But there's more chickens in the world than people. Oh, play record. Well, track? Incredible. Who's the trac? You don't know when else is playing that on a Saturday afternoon, Rick? No. No, I wouldn't have thought so.
Starting point is 00:41:17 I mean that in a good way, I mean that, like we're breaking new territory. Just the intro, is like when the best... Oh no. I think Dr. Fox or Simon Bates said said said said said said said said said said said said said said that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's to win the best... Oh no. I think Dr. Fox or Simon Bates said that about a track once. Really? This has got to be the best intro of a rock song ever. The fact that I was saying it about the Who and he was saying it about Money for Nothing. It's relevant. Oh no! Someone made me sit in their car once with their new car stereo system so that they could play me the beginning of Money for nothing. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Well, I'm sure that's liable as if it's wrong. Oh, right, yeah, you'd be ashamed to have Roger Doltry might not want it getting around that he gave birth to Specky. Yeah, right, actually. Specky? What were their own car to drive around the campsite on and all that. Right. So I used to their own fence. And they were majoring, you saw them every year did you? Or every three weeks when you went down there?

Do you look forward this all week these two hours? It's all right. What would make you truly happy, Carl? Do you mind me just asking that? What would make you truly happy in life? I was thinking about it in a week and I don't know. You don't know. You don't know. I was thinking about it. You don't know. You don't know have you embraced the good word of the Lord? What do you mean? Well, Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior.

You see that story in the week with a farmer who got his arm stuck in a bit of machinery? And he was going on about, I mean he came on with a false arm so he knew something was wrong straight away. You knew it wasn't going happily. But he was, he said, I'm a farmer, I've been a farmer for years and I'm always telling people don't stick your hands in machines. He said, but I got off my tractor and the machine had stopped and he went to shift some, I don't know, if it was a coat can or something that was in the field and he caged. Oh this is not the famous one, he took, and he, he, arm to the hospital and he was making jokes his arm is an ice.
Starting point is 00:46:26 He didn't tech his, no no no no. What it was, it was, his hand went in and the machine started again and it started pulling at his skin, right? So like the skin was coming off his arm and it was going around the rollers and he's pulling back like, oh god.
