The Ricky Gervais Show / An Idiot Abroad - Xfm S2E33 (April 5, 2003)

Episode Date: September 4, 2022

With the second series of ‘’The Office’’ complete, Gervais, Merchant, and Pilkington returned to XFM in August of 2002 to resume their 2-hour Saturday afternoon broadcasts. Though Pilkington...’s name was still not being used in promotional materials, the format mainly centered on his contributions with Gervais and Merchant mostly reacting to the various things Karl said and did, a format that would endure through the remainder of the radio broadcasts and podcasts, concluding in 2012.This was the longest stretch of XFM shows, running 51 weeks until August 2003 when Gervais and Merchant again went on hiatus, this time to record the Christmas Special (finale) for ‘’The Office’’.During the year, Pilkington introduced many of the show’s most notable segments including “ Monkey News”, “Rockbusters”, “Songs of Phrase”, and “The Film Thing”, among others. Karl grew increasingly frustrated with Ricky’s antagonism toward him throughout the year, and over the final few shows, suggested he did not want to continue on. Gervais and Merchant repeatedly said on air they would not return if Pilkington didn’t agree to remain with the show.

Starting point is 00:00:49 I'm negative. Yeah. But what I think it is, is because we pointed out that his lateness is unacceptable. He said, meet you at six. He turned up at 20 past. He said, well someone stopped me in the corridor. I don't care. I've got stuff staffed to do to do to do th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thin, thin, thin, tho, thoing, thoing, thoome, thii. He's, thi. He's, thi. You've got one job, we've got loads of jobs, so I keep telling you that. You've got one job in a little room, a 9 to 5 there that you don't even get. Right? Where's not, is it? Yeah, it is. Yeah. Everyone thinks, oh, he only sits in his studio messing about, making songs a phrase. That's what I do in my free time.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Which we've got coming up later. Super slick. I still think 20 minutes late is an outrage there. Yeah, but I didn't. You said six. No, you didn't, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, you said six, th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. to to to to to to to to to to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go. to go. to go. to go. to go. to go. to to to have. to have. to have. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to go. too. the too. the the the too. too. the too, the the too, the the the the too. the the too. too. too say bang on six. He said six. No you didn't, you said six which means six. Well it doesn't. It doesn't. If it was a news reader I'd say yeah you've got to be on time. Do you know what I mean? If it was a six o'clock news I wouldn't want to be late. But it's the fact that I said to you I'm busy I've got stuff to. No no. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. to say. to say. to say. to say. to say. to say. to say. to say. to say. to say. to say. to say. to. to. to. to. to say. to say. to. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. W. W. W. W. W. W. W. W. the. W. the. the. the. the. to you don't because I remember you sent me a text. You didn't even, it wasn't even, it wasn't even a politeness to call.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Oh, Stephen has stitched him up by being a little bit more precise than him. It was a text and it said, uh, see a round six tomorrow question mark? Around, you just said it. Around, you've he said six. Well he did I'm paraphrasing. Six o'clock Rick to me even if it was around six that would be five to six or five past six it would not be 20 minutes after the event because that is late. Oh you can't even you can't you've got nothing you see you haven't even got an excuse. Yeah but then I turned up and I said right let's not the the the the the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th let's not th th th let's not th th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thu. thu. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah even got an excuse. Yeah but then I turned up right and I said right well let's not argue about this let's come up with some good new features because we've been in cheapest chimps that's gone today. Good news.
Starting point is 00:02:50 He never liked cheapest chimps carilliard right you never liked it do you know what do you know who's took it further Donald McIntyre what he's doing a program cheapest chimps he's what he's doing he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing he's doing a he's doing a pro the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the not doing the channel well we'll see again I'll prove you right again. He's not he's not doing a program of cheapest is it? It's not what do you mean? He's doing a tour a trail on channel 5 and it was saying you know is it five or is it about 20 past five? He's doing this he's done that you know now see him on channel 5 because he's moved to channel 5 he's saying first big problem, chimps, you know, they're deer and that. No, they're not deer. He's sort of getting confused. No, no, 50 odd grand for a chimp and it's saying, you know, you're looking so much you can get a gorilla for.
Starting point is 00:03:35 What are you, what are in the name of God are you talking about? I'm talking about that later. But I don't know what, I'm know what I'm just saying that that's another idea. And yeah yeah yeah so it's a go on you got off this is why you never get stuff done and you're like you got off the point you were talking about arriving late yeah I know but I'm just saying to you know I'm just saying I turned up late so I said right well let's do some stuff yeah you were having any of it I think at one I you I you I you I you I you I you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I that that to to to to that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that thin thin thin the the the the the the the the the the the the that's that's that's that's that's that that that that that leg. I do remember that. Yeah. Why? Just for fun? Yeah. All right. That's all. That's when I started getting annoyed. He was very annoyed last night. No, yeah, okay. Yeah, I can see where that could be annoying, but you just got to think, hey, look, so what?
Starting point is 00:04:21 Say what? You know? Well, I think you rub each other up the wrong way. Yeah. That's the problem. Well, no more cheapest chimps today. Nothing to replace it because we didn't have a chat. Songs a phrase, we're doing that, you can win some stuff. Yeah, you've got the film that we haven't done for the last two weeks. The final film we want me to do that now. Let down, there. Don't you, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, the the the the the the, no, no. Well, no. Well, no. Well, no, no. Well, no, no. Well, no, no, no, no, no, no. Well, no, no, no, no. Well, no, no. And, no, no, no, no, no. And, no, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no something from the only ones? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, no, no, Planet, Planet. Brilliant. Another planet. Another girl, another planet. By the only one, the next phone, I'm a record of me, Stephen Merchant, and Carl Pilkinton.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Carl, cheer up. the their their the only ones an X-Vone, X4.9 I'm reckon you raised with me Stephen Merchant and Carl Pilkington. Carl, cheer up. Come on. There's a war on. Chill out. Yeah. I have to say, you have become increasingly annoying recently, Rick. Me?
Starting point is 00:05:13 Yeah, cheeky, I tell you, I think it's the hot weather. Can I just remind you when we were in the office, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. the office, th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the th. the, the, the thi, the the war, the the, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the war, the war, the war, the war, the war, the war, the war, the war, the war, the war, the the the thrown.. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to series of the office, and I was typing away, I was just typing something that we'd written, and I read it back to Ricky, just to check he, he was happy with everything, I was reading it back and I was reading it back to the script and as part of the, there was a knock, you know, knock, and I'd, so I was acting out out, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I was, and, he, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was acting, I was acting, I was acting, I was acting, I was acting, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was, I was, I was, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, to. just, just, just, to. just, just, just, to. just, to. just, to. just, I was, I was, I was, I desk and I knocked like that as part of reading the stage directions I knocked he thought someone was coming in he leapt up clunked his head zips up that thought something I said Rick it's not I'm just acting that out for you he just wasn't paying attention I wasn't listening and can I just draw in so recently we're in another office we're typing away I look around he's got a shirt off it was a he he he he's he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he he was he he was he he was he he was he he was he he was he he was he was he was he was the the the th he was he was he was he was he was he he he he he was he he he was he was he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he the the the th he th he th he th he th th th th th th th th th th th th th t took took he was took took took took took took took took took took took th? So he sat there, 41 year old man, whatever you are, 40 year old man there with his shirt out. Beautiful, I mean I've seen most parts of your body now, one poor or another. I think from the early days when we used to work at the tour, you started to show me bits of your anatomy, which is something he does to people, I'm sure......... I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I. I, I, I, I. I, I. I, I, I, I, I. I, I, I, I'm th. th. th. th. th. th. to, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I, th. th. to. to, to, to, they. they, they, they, th. they, the, the, I, I, I, I, the, I, I, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. 40. 40. they. th. thirty, thirty, they. thirty, thirty-a. thirty-a. thirty-a. thirty-a. thirty-a. thirty-a, thirty-a, thirty, th. there was a knock at the door because we'd ask someone who worked
Starting point is 00:06:26 in the building to bring us something and so I had to delay it by sort of not opening the door so he could get his shirt back on. Yeah. So he was running around trying to get his shirt back on. Because what were they thought? They'd have walked in. He'd have just been sat there and stripped of it. Didn't they'd have their just have just have just have just have just have just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just they. He they. Look through the keel. No. It was ridiculous. Because as they came in, he was flushed and he kind of was just leaning against the window, just looking like, I often stand here with my, my shirt back to front. I was getting like Bernard Manning, whenever he goes into the house he has to go upstairs and take his trousers off. I'd love that. The fact that in your house you've just got your pants, you the pants your pants your pants your pants your pants your pants your pants your pants your pants your pants your pants your pants your pants your pants your pants your pants, you're to to to to to their pants, you're to to to their pants, to to their, to to to their, to their, I's just, I's just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm their, I'm their, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm their, I'm their, I'm just their, I's, I's, I's, I's their their their their their their their their their their their their, I's, I their their their their, I their, I their, I their, I'm just their, I'm just their, I'm just their, I'm just leaning, I'm just leaning, I'm just leaning against, I'm just their, their, their, just their, their, their, just their, I'm it's it's all the time it's not just I mean you haven't done that with me,
Starting point is 00:07:07 taking your clothes off and that yet but like last night we were sat in the pub and I was saying right you know let's not even worry about new features then let's let's get the current ones you know going like what? Like the one throw. Like the one tho's tho's tho's tho's thin thin tho's thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin that's that's that's that's that's thin' thin' thin' thi's thi thin' thin' you're you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you're you're you're you're you're you're you're you're you're you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's to took took took took took took took took took took took. took took took took took took took took. took took took took took took tooking you work out the cheeky freak of the week. Think of that! Think of that though as a normal conversation! I'd looked online, right? I didn't find that much. I found, actually I'll tell you what I found later. Brilliant. We're looking for them right. And then at one point I think you said to me, you know, what about the Guinness Booker Records, you know, they'll have like the best freak in the world or whatever. So I said, yeah, yeah, bring one in.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Now, you've got one at home, but you couldn't be bothered carrying that in today, so I had to go out of the pub that I was at, nip into borders, buy a Guinness Book of Records out of my own money, 1899. Bring it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it back it th, and the the the th. And it back and then you said oh I don't know if I want to do this feature. So it cost me 20 quirk for that. I had to buy a video for Silence the Lam's film clip. I'm actually out of pocket at the end of this. But do you want to work with me? The thing, if you want to work with people, that sort of money to work with me, Carl, you're a lucky bloc. to thi-I th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. their. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. their. their to to to to their. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their. Starting point is 00:08:30 Do you know when I left the poem in a bit of a mood? Because I just fed up with not getting anything done? Yeah. Walking down the road I was thinking, how can I thinne? How can I stop having they'll be funny and they'll go and then my boss will be giving me stick. I'm thinking how long, how much notice have we got to give out? And all this is going through my mind and walking home and I got in, said Suzanne I'm sick of it, she's going you need to do it when I get a new kitchen. She's going to need to do it when I get a new kitchen. And I was like, I was, and I was, and I was, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, I'm, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm th. th. thi. many cupboards can we just have wood instead of steel all this try to get
Starting point is 00:09:07 out of doing this yeah it's always I always feel like you know because I like to think that I not perhaps as bad as him yeah yeah I know me in different ways like what I don't know you well stuff stuff that you know I come up with ideas say cheap as chimps yeah yeah rock b springs to mind, 15 Taiwan. 15 Taiwan, let's just remind people what 15 Taiwan was. It was a little feature that I wanted to give a run, you know, give it a little run, see if people like it. The premise being? No, there's no premise, it's just the title. No, we were going to get 15 sort of ornaments, you'd explain them, and then people would call up and say that I from Taiwan. See, Carl, you just explained why I didn't think that was a good idea. By explaining the good...
Starting point is 00:09:50 No, the funny thing is Steve, right? I was walking down Regent Street on Monday, walked past one of these big stores, right? And they've got all famous quotes on the windows, right? And one of them was something like, an absurd idea is often a great idea. Do you know who said that? Einstein. Which made me wonder, if you were his mate, would he ever have done? He equals MC squared.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Or would you have said, don't bother with that? It's not going to work. Because that's all you seem to do, everything I've come up with, you put down. Well that's one thing he's negative right I don't know why I don't know why he is what else he messes me about I get him concert tickets for stuff and you say I didn't bother going yeah yeah that is annoying you come in you know five minutes to go with tracks that need editing yeah yeah the little bag that was free yeah yeah you got a free bag an you tha to the thrugn't th I I I I I th I th I th th th th th th th thin th thin thin the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they they they they they they they they the they they're they're they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they they tod toda toda toda they they they're they're they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they they like oh what's this what's this rubbish yeah Ricky said I'll have it they're great you said oh I want it yeah well it's free I need you I give that as a gift so so I mean I think on reflection
Starting point is 00:10:51 Steve is probably a little bit more annoying than me hmm I won't go that far you are you are annoying if they had to go away for a week somewhere if it was a quiet place you are again aren't you has two orders you had this week at this year I mean if it was a busy place I probably go with you because people do you know I mean staring at me all the time and that if I'm walking around with Steve no I'm just no I'm just can't I'm try to listen I don't like you I'm just the list of reasons I don't like you for him. I'm just being honest. I'll tell you, because the list of reasons I don't like you is incredibly long. I'm getting longer.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Just saying. Do you want another slap? Go ahead. Go ahead. There's a star. Ash F.M. the today. the thanks.
Starting point is 00:11:37 the that. There's a star, Ash XFM 1 and 4.9, look at your way Steve Merchant, Carl Pilkington. Carl. Carl. All right, let's start again. I'm going to be the same, but let's start again. So what I mean is stop being grumpy and let's let me carry on being annoying. Because Steve's not going to change. He's not going to suddenly start going, you know what Carl, I think your ideas are really good, do you know what I mean? Oh.
Starting point is 00:12:06 When he came up with that idea, that game show idea. And he went, he went, well it's not an idea Carl. And he came to me, he said, oh I've had it with Steve, what's it? He went, how did the office ever get on tele? Well what was the idea going in, in summary? I don't the idea, to to to to to the idea, to to th. Well, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, the idea, tho, tho, tho, thi, the idea, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, the idea, thin, the idea, thin, thin, thin, thin, th her because someone will nick it. They will. Donald McIntyre's already got cheapest chimps. I can say I bet they're in the making of rockbusters as we speak. So I'm not going to tell you any more about it.
Starting point is 00:12:33 I reckon Bob Aldous is probably nicking that idea. Cheeky little, right. Songs a phrase coming soon. Is it? Yeah, what is it this week? What's what's? What's? What's? What's? What's? What's? What's? What's? What's? the phrase? the phrase? the the phrase? the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I'm? I'm? I'm? I'm th. I'm going. I'm going. I'm going. I'm going. I'm going. I'm going. I'm? I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm the the th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm the the the the the the the week? What's the phrase? We're, um, remember the story told you ages ago about, uh, about my neighbour having a horse in their house. Oh yeah? Having a horse, yeah, a horse, what? What's happened with that? Lenny Henry doing it as a series? So, uh...
Starting point is 00:12:55 And people are nicking your ideas, left, right and center? Well, that's the phrase we'll many words is that? Six. My neighbour had... So there's no grammar either. My neighbour had aorse in the house. My neighbour had aorse in house. What is the phrase? My neighbour had aorse in the house. What is it... Right, what is the phrase? My neighbour had a horse in or house. Ad- Ad-... is there... are there any prepositions? Are there any prepositions in this sentence? thensensensens. th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. My, th. My th. My th. My th. My th. My, th. My, th. My, th. My, th. My, th. My, th. So, th. My, th. So, th. So, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, my thi, my thi. My thi, my thi. My thi. My my, my th house. Ad... is there... Are there any prepositions? Are there any prepositions in this sentence? Look, don't judge it beforehand. You see, I'm turning over a new leaf. I think this is a great idea, I think Carl's a genius and I look forward to hearing this enormously.
Starting point is 00:13:35 Yeah, okay. And I won't be sick on your leg or squeeze your head or make you jump when you're making the cup when the cup when the cupthrough the Guinness of the funniest thing in it. Squeaking at someone when they got a cup of tea. Right. There are a lot of what strike me as seemingly pointless. Feet's. The Guinness Records is right. The Guinness Records is great. I used to love it as a kid. I've had about 10 copies in my life. The last one I bought a couple years ago present. It was really good. I love it. I love it. I love the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the real the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I've the the the the the the the the the the the the the tri. tri. tri. tri. tri. tri. tri. tri. tri. tri. tri. tri. trime. tri. tri. tri. tri. trime. love it. I love the real record, tallest, fat, is thinest, best, fastest, most expensive, biggest, all that. But the ones that, really annoying me, are the ones that, the reason these people are in there for it are the only people that tried. Batson the milk batter on your head. Most watches eaten. I've just found that one. I just found that one. one. one. one. that one. that one. that one. that one. that one. that one. tho. that one. th. th. th. th. th. th. that one. th. tho. th. th. that one. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. But tho tho tho th. But th. But th. But th. But th. But th. But th. But th. But that one. But that one. But that one. But that one. But that one. But th. But th. But th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. But th. th. th. But th. th. But the. But the. the. the. the. the the the. the one. the one. the one. But the. But the exception of the wristband in a time of one hour 34 minutes. What do you make of that, Carl? Made him regular.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Come on. How did the timing? Most live rattlesnakes the idea, Carl? Most live rattlesnakes held in the mouth. Eight live rattlesnakes held by um. I'm saying an idiot. They are, this gives me an idea Carl. Talking of idiots. Do you want to get into the history records? No, come on. Come on, that'd be brilliant.
Starting point is 00:14:49 There's things in there that are just absolutely anyone could do. Like that one in Big Brother I was watching it. And it was some balancing sugar lumps. And how can we compete in the world market? I was looking at it last night and there was one about the farest that a dog swam. I think it was something like nine miles, but it had no choice, did it? You know what it did? He didn't want to do it. Threw it in the water. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the their. their. their. their. their. their. the their. their. It. It's, their. It, their. It, their. It, to. It, I. It, I. It, I. It, to. It's, I. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. It, to. It, I. It's, I. It's, I. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's, t. It's, t. It's, tot. It's. It's, the the tot. It's. It's, the tot. It's. It's, the the the the tot. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's he took it out to it at the Atlantic or something and so it didn't want to do. Throw it in the water. Yeah. So it's not all right to put it in a bin bag and truck it in a canal.
Starting point is 00:15:28 But oh it's for a world record. Yeah. Nine miles it did. Oh God. Possible ones that you could do, Carl? What's the most far the most thiarest by hand, but that's quite tricky. So what about most arrows caught by head? Yeah, they would just fire arrows at your head.
Starting point is 00:15:50 They would just skim off in because, yeah, the roundness, it would never actually get any sort of, you know, you know, connection. Fastest human crab? Could you do that? Can't you do that? What would you be good at? What about hamburger stuffing? Can you? Can you? Can you? Can you? Can that? that? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? thu? th? tha? tha? tha? tha? tha? tha? tha? tha? tha? tha? tho? tho? tho? tho? tho? tho? th. th. th. th. th. th? th. th? th? th? th. th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th........................... What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What over backwards and running. No. What would you be good at? What about hamburger stuffing? Oh, right, Carl. Let me, all right, in the mouth, you mean? Well it says the record for stuffing the most regulation size hamburgers including buns in the mouth, the mouth at one time is how many? How many hamburgers with buns in the mouth? So this is just... You're not swallowing anything, you've just got stuff stuff in their....... It. It. It. It. It. It. It's, the, the, the, the, the, th. th. th. th. the, th. th. th. to, to, the, to, to, to, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, the, th. What, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, tha. What, t. What, t. What, t. What, t. What, t. What. What, t. What, t. What, t. What, t. What, t. What, t. What, t. What, t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. togu. t. togu. togu. togu. togu. togu. togu. togu. togu. togu So that this is just... You're not swallowing anything, you've just got stuck in your mouth.
Starting point is 00:16:25 You'd be so good because you're shaped with your head. You've got a shape, it's just like a hamburger. You'd be good at this man. Yeah. Honestly, you'd be perfect. You'd look theypey. And the great thing is, could it could it is it possible is it meant how many do think it was I don't know I don't know what do you reckon Carl what how quick he yeah he didn't eat them it's just how many he can stuff in his face so
Starting point is 00:16:50 literally how hold them within his cheeks and his mouth but don't swallow anything so what how many how many burgers how many how many burgers do you manage to get into his face so it's a fella yes yes not, yes? About, not five? No, no, no, three is the reward record. Three is the award record. It just says regulation size. So we go to McDonald's or Burgers and get just hamburgers and that would count. Yeah, just a regular burgers and we'll just stuff we can. But we could practice it now and then if you're a triumphant, if you get four in there.
Starting point is 00:17:26 You know I've got a small throat and that. Well you don't have to swallow it, that's a great thing. Yeah, but I don't like it. As a kid, as a kid, choking on stuff and I get funny. Well, no, just to keep the ha. I. I. I. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've their. I've. I've their. I've their. I've their. I've that. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I. I. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got. I've got... I've it go, Steve will go and get the hamburgers. Have I got to pay for him? No, just Carl, give us the money. I'm not paying for him. Oh come on! I've just spent 25 quid in total on a video on a Guinness Book of Records.
Starting point is 00:17:51 That's costing me another four quid. Ha! I'm not doing it. Come on, do it! It's an interesting thing, come on! You could be in the Guinness Book of Records, Carl. See if we can. Oh, please. Phone in if you want Carl to eat burgers. You don't have to swallow them, you can spit it all out. You can be sick on my leg after. Oh, come on!
Starting point is 00:18:15 No, because I don't like the stretching thing either. It will stretch. It will stretch. We like the little bloody dog on the Winston Churchill ad. Don't swear on air! We apologize to the radio authority. Carl is not only swearing but he's refusing to do things we come up with. But the radio authority will be happy with me stuffing three burgers in my face. God look. I'm not doing it. Yeah we will.
Starting point is 00:18:37 I'll give you the money. Can we do some phrase? the phrase something? No, right, play a record. Play a record, is going to go, you're going to do it, Carl, or you're fired? No, actually he wants that. No, you're going to do it. Do it, please do it. It'll be great, honestly, please do it. What about chicken mucknoggots, where are I? I'm in one of the the capitals many burger joints. I'm just about to go up now and order some burgers. Where where are you? Where are you? Where are you? Where are you in? I'm in McDonald's in in Leicester Square. Oh, right, okay. Yeah. Just get, just get, get too many. I need to order five regular hamburgers, please. That's all right.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Sorry? Five hamburgers, yes. Yes. You're probably wondering why I'm ordering only five hamburgers, aren't you? Let me tell you why. My friend is going to try and break the wa the wa the wa the wa the wa the wa the wa. the world the world the world the world their their their their tha. tha. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to order to order to order to order to order to order to order to to to to to to th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. toda. try. try. try. try. try. today. today. to to to to to to to to to to to to today. tell you why my friend is going to try and break the world record for putting burgers into his fat stupid face what do you reek of that? Exciting yeah do you wish him good luck yeah what's your name? Tire? Thank you very much Tyre I'll try and get tired to wish you good luck in a minute Carl. Five should be enough. The world record is what? Three, yeah. Okay, good.
Starting point is 00:20:06 I don't know, I don't know what, oh here we go. How much is that? 345 for five hamburgers? Good, isn't it? It's really, isn't it? Really, yeah. If there's anyone from hamburgers, from McDonald's Disney, they'd probably want to give us some free stuff, I hope. Oh, you're thought Rick. You just wish my friend good luck before you...
Starting point is 00:20:25 He's just on the end of the line there. Just say, good luck, Carl. Good luck. There you are. That's the people from McDonald's wishing you good luck. Carl, I'll be back shortly with the burgers. Brilliant. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:37 Do you what the moment, on XFM, 104.9, I'm Ricky Jabez, with me Steve Merchant with five little hamburgers. I've got five little hamburgers. I've got five burgers here, yep. And so I don't know, how should we begin, Carl? Do you want to just look at the size of these burgers? Oh, oh, look, they can see it on webcam, can't they? They can see us stuffing these burgers into your mouth. And I'm filming this, Steve.
Starting point is 00:21:13 Brilliant. Look, look, I'll go to look at a little, we'll put this on a DVD or something. Or maybe on the website. Oh, oh, Carl, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, the. Oh, the. Oh, the. Oh, they're, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they. Oh, they. Oh, they. Oh, they. Oh, they. Oh, they. Oh, they. Oh, they. Oh, they. Oh, they. Oh, they. Oh, they. Oh, they're, they're, they're. Oh, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're. Oh, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're.? Okay, Carl, I'm coming around now to just monitor this and adjudicate. What's the web... If you want to see this on the webcam, what is it? XFM. Code at UK. Right, okay. Hold on. Oh, can I, can I, can't stick. I'm not being funny, right?
Starting point is 00:21:35 But I think I have got like a bit of a wit that. No seriously my heads I've been eating a lot of shredded wheat recently and my heads got a bit bigger. I don't think you can let us don't know me. So just you just got to put that first one in my mouth on it's with I've got to break it up. I've got to break it up. Well you can't break it up. It doesn't say you can't on the real thing. It doesn't I can't look I physically can't. Try it. Do you know, I can't look. I'd have to be Jay Goodie. Seriously look, oh, oh. Try it, try it. Yeah, I know, but you're not doing, you're not approaching it right. That's it. Oh come on, come on. That's almost to keep going. Keep going, keep going, keep going. Keep going, keep going. Keep going, keep in. that's it. Keep Get one in at least. Keep in. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Keep. Starting point is 00:22:27 Easy it. Get one in. Get one in. Push it. Push it. That's one. Let's go for another one. Let's go one. Night swimming. Serbs. Quiet. R-E-M, Night Swi-M Night Swi-R-Nit, Karl. It's a lovely song, isn't it Carl? Ah? X-FM, 104.9, I'm looking to raise, we'll be Steve Merchant.
Starting point is 00:22:57 Carl, disappointing. You couldn't even get one whole burger in your mouth. That did, kind of. Yeah, but there was a bit sticking out, it just looked messy. There was no... But you were saying about putting it in whole and you can... I don't think that's the rule. Okay so you don't get more in a suitcase if you if you put things in properly. So don't just get all your clothes and chuck him in so it's about I reckon I reckon you to rip it up a bit. Okay do that th then. See th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that that that that that, I that, I that that, I'm that's that's tho tho tho tho their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that, I that, I that. that. thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. That'd be good then, there'd be more room. All right, okay, look, Carl, he's now just sticking it in his cheek. Don't eat any. You can't swallow any. It's like a hamster. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. Starting point is 00:23:46 He looks like Mylan and Brando in the godfather. Come on! Don't lose any yet! All right. Pack it in, then use your fingers to pack it in. Come on! Wedge it in. Like you're grating the bath.
Starting point is 00:24:01 I can't do this either. Keep going, keep going. Keep going. Don't give up so early. This is part of the problem. You just give up, Carl, too quickly. You failed again. It's like your history of O-level. Come on, Carl, come on. Do something well, succeed at something. Push it in. You've got a hot, nearly a half a burger there. Oh, I come round there! You. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. No it's not, I can see bits left! Come on, Carl, come on, keep working on it. So there it. There's so much space in your mouth I can see it.
Starting point is 00:24:47 He's going, man. Okay, we do another one. We're doing another one. We're doing another. Oh, are you all right? Are you going to be sick? Are you all right? All right? Oh gosh, we play a record.
Starting point is 00:25:03 He's making my eyes water now. Oh. Oh, dear. I'll find the different one for you. More about most grapes eating in three minutes. I'll go. Do you want to do that? Great's too easy, great.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Great, great to easy. Come on, great too easy. Great, great. White's drive, seven nation army that jumped that. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'll that. I'll that. I'll that. Oh, I'll that. Oh, I'll. Oh. Oh, I'll that. Oh, I'll. Oh, I'll. Oh, I'll the different. Oh, I'll. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, great. Oh, great. Oh, great. Oh, great. Oh, great. Oh, great. Oh, great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Oh, great. Oh, great. Oh. Oh. Oh, Seven Nation Army, that jumped twice. I apologize for that. You're the producer Carl. Yeah? It jumped twice? Well, it's not my fault if people are slipping around because of burgers on the floor. You're trying to squeeze my head when the song's playing. What difference does that make? Anyway, right. Don't take and eat, right, I've just got some grapes there. We've counted them out.
Starting point is 00:25:52 What's the record then? Okay, well the most grapes eaten in three minutes, you've got three minutes, Carl, and you've got a beat Matt Hand from the UK who consumed a total of 133 grapes in thoe, right, in the 8th of November 2001. Right, there's 150. There. So you've got 3 minutes. What are the rules? The rules are. You just got to eat them and swallow them. It's like call on Luke, right? You've got to just stuff them in and don't choke because I got worried with a burger. That's a good ad hoc. That's a good ad abet for McDonald's, isn't it? Not only only I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I their their thired their thired their thired thired th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so. So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so. So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, so, so, so, so, so,'t even get one in his mouth yeah so value for money there maybe they'd like to send us some freesta yeah free store or just money I need some money would be good
Starting point is 00:26:29 next week Carl you're eating Sony Walkmans available available for right right and like Carl to do right we got to we got song to be too theyre too there too there tooo cudd we'll the the too too too too too the too too too the the too too the too the the too too too the so so so so so so so so so to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the so so so so so so so so so so so so the the the they so the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to the the to to the to to to to the to to to to the we know that's two minutes so you can play that because that'd be boring radio hearing Carl Choke wouldn't it for three minutes? So when I say go Carl right I'm gonna go right on the minute right you've got a handful of grapes and you've got a press song two by blur when we come back you'll be stuffing your fat so you can't do that can you can you work the buttons I can do that I can do that no I don't you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you can't you you you you can't you you you you you you can't you you you can't you you can't you you can't you you can't you you can't you can't you can't you can't you can't you can't the the the to to go go the the to to to to to go to go to go to go to go the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the go I can't go I can't go I can't go I can't go I can't go I can't go I can't go I can't go I can't go I can't go I can't go I can't go go go go go th I can can can can't th I can can can't go go tho can can't go can't go go the go the go the number song starts. When the song two stops, can we just press up the fade? So you'll be stuffing the faith. Don't worry, so we've got, let's go, if we go, any second now. Okay, right, okay, three, two, one, go!
Starting point is 00:27:14 And he's off. It's good work from Carl now. He's just,, it's just, you know, just keep it down this stuff. Which are you just, you know, just keeping people up and stuff around. Yeah. Come on, don't make him laugh for it. He's choking. He's choked. Come on. Come on.
Starting point is 00:27:43 Come on. Come on, don't make him laugh. He's choking. He's choking. He's choking. Oh, Carl! Quick! Come on, Carl! Come on! Come on! What happened? Did he just throw up?
Starting point is 00:27:51 No! Don't make him laugh! Come on! We could make, we could make wine. Come on, Carl, you're doing so long. I want to go. Come on, Carl, you're doing so long. Come on, Carl. I want to go. Come on. Why are you making him laugh? That was a world record attempt.
Starting point is 00:28:09 Come on. He's over the... Keep going! Come on! Come on! You got 25 seconds! Come on. Oh, I think that was a shame actually because you were doing well,
Starting point is 00:28:23 but something went wrong. I know, and I th th th th th th th th th th th th I th th I th th I th th I th I th th I thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi think think think tho tho tho thaten tho tho tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. th wrong. I know and I think there's a bigger grapes than the ones I've seen before. They're quite big grapes looking, it's basically, look his spondin. Come on, Carl, like seconds. Just a few more. Five. Come on, what's the matter? Two. Two. One. It's all over. It's all over. We better count on many you did. Just to, you can get good at this, we can get good at this over the weeks. I think that was a fairly pitiful attempt actually. I really thought you had to... It's interesting actually, these are harder records than you might think. Yeah, I know. Six, eight, ten. Why are you not happy about?
Starting point is 00:29:05 The fella who did it, was he in hospital and just had loads of grapes? I'm bored. I'm sure he wasn't producing a radio programme, that's for sure. Well, to be fair, I know that were you. What was tricky about it? What did you find hard? I think having Ricky standing over me, sort of shouting, go on! Isn't normal. No.
Starting point is 00:29:26 But that, so that wasn't... He hasn't eaten any! Hold on, that's been there too. That's quite a poor attempt then by the seem of it. Would you think about trying to maybe do that again in a couple of weeks? Would you do some practice and try that again? No. I'll leave it for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts experts for the experts for the experts for the experts for the experts. And there was, I know it's a tricky point, maybe sort of when you had about 50 seconds to go. You seem to be spewing things into the bin.
Starting point is 00:29:50 What was that? Again, I'm mainly Ricky standing over me, sort of. 88. Okay, so what's the mental arithmetic there? Because we put, how many in, was it? What did I say, left? Well I'm not doing it again. 88 so you had 88 left. So just 62. Guys you're only at 62. What's the matter with you Carl there's people start you at 62? That is rubbish. That's disapointment. So you've well you've so you failed on two world record attempts there.
Starting point is 00:30:24 That's 62 and the records are that is rubbish. What were you doing? Oh yeah but like I said I've got a small throw I can't I can't drink a drink quick. Ever since the Mr. Freeze pops when I was six that I nearly choked on I nearly died on I can't go back. It'd be like asking I don't know someone who got run over to play Frogger or something. What's Frogger? What's Frogger? What's Frogger? What's Frogger?
Starting point is 00:30:50 Does Frogger get run over? What's it? It's a little Frog? It has to run across a feature of a game of Fogger? Do you know who he reminded me of? Apart from Hamburger and zippin all that. When he was munching those grapes because the shape of his head it looked like a game of Pac-Man. It did it as he was getting to him it looked like, doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo. It's a, just like it. Oh, Carl. Do you know what? There's a board
Starting point is 00:31:15 game version of Pac-Man? Was there? I mean, the only thing that as a board game. But there's board games of like things that you don't need board games for. It's like ballads. Do you know what? You don't need that it's like parlor games. Board games of let's watch the telly. Let's play sit around and it's all like 1999 you don't need it. New from a tell a stick. New from a tel. simply run along, clanking it against a fence or a metal grate? It's a fence stick! In a picture of it, oh, Nan, that's my stick! I'll tell you what. That's my fence stick. Do you know I saw in a shot recently? The board game of cold feet.
Starting point is 00:31:54 The TV show. That is a winner. That is a winner. You are John Thompson. Yeah. So you're a good game. Drink eight pints. Go on. Songs a Phrase. Songs a Phrase.
Starting point is 00:32:07 Nicely done. All right, we'll get this going. How do you feel, Carl? Yeah, all right. Again, disappointment, probably to your family and friends. Well, I don't think they'll be songs of phrase because it's a big tea tea. It's one of the hot new radio quizzes. We've got one more thing for you to eat. No, I'm not doing any more with it, seriously. Right, songs of phrase next.
Starting point is 00:32:31 That was rubbish that off hour. Rubbish. Rubbish. Rout. That's great. Roots, the seed XFM 1 and 4.9. I bet that is a record of eating grapes whilst DJing. Possibly. I'm assuming if there's any listeners out there that have a record-breaking attempt they'd like to see Carl undertake in future weeks they should email in. I think I think John O's got that one. Right, what we got then? That's the silly side now. Let's get on to the proper show. Alright, song's a phrase.
Starting point is 00:33:13 Yeah, let's do we do that? On the classy stuff. Yeah. Do you want to do the prizes first? Right. Now then, right. I haven't seen these, but I'm excited as ever. All right, we have a t-shirt there, arbitrary t-shirt that you have probably stolen off of someone. What does it say? Is it the red-up chili peppers? So if you've had that, that's not too bad, a big t-shirt there. Oh, do-doo, do-doo, do you. Should you be giving this away? and it's it doesn't have all the proper packaging it's literally the the disc the DVD disc just loose so enjoy that the current album from Oasis
Starting point is 00:33:48 heath and chemistry DVD on DVD the Life of Mammals the complete series the David Attenborough recent DVD that walking with Cavemen which I think is a DVD is all currently on TV isn't it and also the X list which is a good new compilation from XFM with loads of stuff on there including nerd, Snoop Doggy Dog, athlete, all sorts. Go on in Carl. So not bad actually, simple as one. Nice one. Right, so, yeah it's a phrase that's been said at some point or said a lot on the show.
Starting point is 00:34:15 We've had like airy Chinese kid. We went back to my momad win for five minutes and that. Today we're looking at my neighbor had a horse in a house, right? If you remember we were talking about that, probably about a year and a half ago, right? Yeah, of course people, of course we remember. They've been talking about ever since Carl I imagine. Well it's famous, it's a world famous phrase, my neighbor had a horse in their house. Right, so this is this week's songs and what I've done is I've got songs with those words in that make up that sentence. You got email in Ricky.Juvace at XFN.Coult at UK. There's six different songs, right? You emailing with what I want to do? I don't know, there is six.
Starting point is 00:34:54 My neighbor add horse in house. Is it really that sentence? My neighbor had a horse in her house. It does work. It does work. it works yeah okay don't both explain it just play it yeah so it is what in god name was that yeah name the six songs my head doors in a house are we naming the artists so the songs are they the artist? So the songs? Where? Are we naming the artists?
Starting point is 00:35:28 So the songs? A artist. Anyone who gets anything can get a prize. Geez, there we go. My name is the artist here we go. That's tricky Carl. That's very hard. Once more. My neighbor head doors in our house.
Starting point is 00:35:47 Email in Ricky. Joveys at XFM. the UK. I'll give it another. Another let down. It's brilliant this. Now, can you just say that after I've just been stuffing grapes in your face. Well, you found, you didn't get one burger in, right?
Starting point is 00:35:59 Even when you tried to drop it up, there's three, right? So that's it. Steve, at the goodness of his heart, went to McDonald's, okay? I got some grapes, you, at 62. That's got nothing to do with this, though, this is my game show here. Bob Olness didn't say, yeah, blockbus is good, but I never see him eating grapes. So this is a different thing, right? Here's a clip. Here's a clip. Here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here. You know I said I was going to turn over a new leaf and not criticize your ideas? I think it's the end of this one, mate. Oh, it's very little going. It's at Approtius. Ricky Docu-Yves at XFM. KUK if you've got any idea. Danny Warholz, we used to be friends. That is Carl's favourite record of the year.
Starting point is 00:36:50 Yeah, new music. He gets, he gets one play a year and he chose that. That's what he took. It's all right, but I mean, the favourite track, isn't it? He played that. That was Carl's choice. Just something new. On XFM, 104.9. Don't really got some really good stuff coming up later when me and Steve. If you're from the 70s. Do you might like it? You see that he's getting too cocky, he, it's arrogant. It's sort of like, I mean, we've try and we've try and given him something in his life. He's got, I mean, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm the the the thi, I'm, I'm, I'm, th. th. th. th. thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th, th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th, the the the the the the the the the their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, that, that, that, that, their, their, their, their, that, their, thr. If and tells us this sob story of just like a trail of failures and we said, Carl, come under our wing, right? He just started picking up on him. A few other people are like, and then he does that. He fails at the burgers, he fails at the grapes. He will not trust us with what we want to do. I don't know what more we can do. It's like I've saved a mouse from a cat's jaws and it turned around and bit me. Yeah, yeah, that is a brilliant analogy. It's a bit like we were trying to give you something that you could care about, that you could be passionate about, that would somehow give a
Starting point is 00:37:53 meaning to your life. You would be in the Guinness Book of the Records. Alongside, I mean, bubble. Do you want to be bubble or do you want to be the bloke with the milk bottle on his head? Exactly. Who's in there? The guy who make the watches. Yes! Now I've got an idea, Carl, because you're getting all stressed, I don't know what it is, you're getting funny, I don't know what it is. I don't know what it is. I don't know what it is. You're starting to their thr-o'nipe. thin, thin, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thr-I. thr-I. the-I. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the their. That isn't happening. Why? You've just reminded me because you've been annoying me.
Starting point is 00:38:31 Steve started getting on your case, you know, sort of ganging up on me. I'll tell you now, Steve, I just forgot. Remember a couple of weeks ago, you've said to me that my pub team, pub quiz team is rubbish. Right, well it doesn't matter anymore because you're not part of it this time. That's bad because it's interesting you say that Carl. Carl you say that because I tell you this I found someone I found someone who could be filling that tricky fifth member. I wanted to test them out this week on your team. Test that on your team because I tell you what this is like I don't. I this is like. I th. I their. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I their tell you're tell you're tell you're their. I tell you're tell you're tell you're tell you're tell you're tell you're tell you're te. I'm tell you're tell you're tell you're te. I'm te. I'm te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te your team because I tell you what this is like I don't know if you're familiar with Paul Lintz who used to play with Man United, right? But everyone used to say he's the governor, right? Even the players used to call him the governor, right? And Alex Ferguson, that man United was like, I'm not having this. I'm in charge here and he got rid of him. And that's what happened. You were you were the the the the the the the their. You're their. You're their. You're saying, you're saying, you're saying, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you're saying, their, their, their, their, their, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, their, but, their, their, their, their. their, their. their. their, their. their. their, their, their. Starting point is 00:39:30 you'll have to go and join Middlesbrough or wherever it is he's gone to go to what can I do to get back on your team it's not happening I've already filled you but don't let him have the up to the the their their don't don't don't don't don't don't don't don't don't don't don't don't don't their their their their their their their their their their their their their to to to to to to to to to to to their to their to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their te. te. te. I te. I their te. I their te. I their te. I te. I'm te. I'll te. I'll to to to, no, wait a minute. I'll tell you what always annoys me though. Ricky spends most of the show slagging you off, right, having a go at you, annoying you're the week squeezing your head, making you eat burgers, right? But you always take it, but you always take it. I'm the one who always gets the is this, you know that Ricky Gervais is keeping you in burgers and grapes, metaphorically speaking. He's the one that's got you in heat magazine. I just spat all over you with you because it's got a record.
Starting point is 00:40:14 Get me a tissue. It's just squatted tea. I don't get the flat for that! No, it's because you made me laugh when I was drinking because he went, it's made, it made me laugh and I spot. I just, I just think it upsets me that you, that you never, you never pick on Ricky, you never ever go in because you know he's the one who's raised your profile and made you a little bit of a celebrity. We've missed one here. Using his tee has the coconut husker in the world. What does that mean? I don't know, he pulls huskers, he pulls husk's, he pulls the cuskine. Look at Carl just with his head down. What's that? What's the matter? Because that cost me 20 quid? I know, well I'll see you all right. I'll see.
Starting point is 00:41:03 Te all over the world's smallest man. Why am I sitting next to the world's biggest man? Right, I'm in the bad mood now. Oh dear. So you haven't got a team? Steve, I'll sort you out. I'll sort you out. Seriously, I found someone who would help you win this week. No, Steve. You can be on my team this week. And I. And I. And I. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. the tho. the. the the tho. the tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the world. the world. the world. the world. the world. the world. the world. the world. the world. the world. the world. the world. the the world. the the world. the. the. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. the the the world. the this week and I know something about the quiz that Carl doesn't know. So, I'll tell you, I just think that it's so ungrateful. Whatever. Right, songs a phrase, just give it a couple more plays, just email in we'll pick a winner soon.
Starting point is 00:41:37 Ricky dotch of ASC, FM. Well this isn't, this is rubbish, no one, it because it's rubbish Steve was right. The six songs there so if you know what they are just. That's the end of that I think. That's the end of the song I think. We've got left. No, no let's let's let's write on. That's the last week for that. Okay, well why did he give us some monkey news? Is it monkey news?
Starting point is 00:42:01 Come on Monkey News. We'll play a song and we'll play on. Oh, it's a great track. Cheer up, come on. Is it new? Wait in finale with Thin Lizzy. Oh, what years is it new? It's brilliant. What year was it out? Oh, Einstein wasn't new when he came up with the greatest theory ever.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Oh, how old guy? Hey, oh, you're not new. I'm waiting for an alibi by Thin Lizzy on XFM 104.9. Right, okay, just, this is, oh, with all the trawl them in the world, I thought we'd come on and do a little bit, and he's just brought it right down, a little mank, twat, winge. No, but I mean, do you know what I mean? He's thrown you off his team. I'm devastated by that. Do you know that was the one thing I was looking forward to telling him you were taking over the team, so it's sort of public justice, it has blown up in your face. To be fair I was trying to squeeze him out out out out out out You were going to try and get him out of his team.
Starting point is 00:43:05 So it was a hostile takeover and they sort of clubbed together. I to tell us with you, there's normally three regulars on his team. I got two of them on my side, one of which was his girlfriend. So I only had to work on him to try and get him get him to get him get him to get him to get him their him to get him to get him to get him to get him to get him their him to get him to get him to get him to get him to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thus. We started off well with him trying with forks burgers in his mouth. And then he'd come up with this tap. I mean this is the end of this because it's, I mean it was shoddy to start with, no, do you have a couple. Well this is not only... and you're trying to be sick on my leg. I was saying come up with new ideas if you don't like them, but you diss them on air. Well it's just disappointing isn't it? And I was disappointed when I was choking before.
Starting point is 00:43:51 We were disappointed as well. Yeah, you didn't try with the grapes. You were just like chewing on that. You meant to just throw them in and swallow them. Songs a phrase. It was a phrase. it sounded like this. My head-head, oh-hoose. Right, what are they? Just give you answers. Six songs there. We had Lionel Ritchie My Destiny for My. Tricky. Neighbor.
Starting point is 00:44:14 Oh, that's XFM. My neighbor was a space, neighborhood, had Aneude-haheat. Ariconic Jr. had to be you. The neighbour had a horse. Horse from America. America, yeah. In was Lisa Stansfield with, uh... Pathetic? Did anyone get that?
Starting point is 00:44:38 Did anyone get that? No one got that? So that was pointless. All right, well the most anyone got was three. And we're going to give it to Deborah, and that's possibly Deborah and Kate. They got any any anyone any any any any any any any the the the the the the th any th any th any th th they got th their th th th their th th th th th th th th their the anyone their the anyone thousa thousa thousa thousa thousa thousa thousa thousa thousa thousa thousa ha thousa thousa thousa thous. Starting point is 00:44:48 There's prizes on the way. That's the end of that. So that's the no, no, no, the cheapest. Chimp as a no, no, no, cheap as chimped. Cimps that, no, no, much time his hands and he comes up with that shh. Okay shite monkey news the jingle please. Oh chimpanzee that monkey news okay it's been quite a lot of stuff going on there was a few bits in that Guinness book a record that cost me 20 quid yeah that they printed that probably last September so there's one in there. New music, new music.
Starting point is 00:45:26 New, new monkey news from last September. You're a lord. Come on, Wasteer. Police, Ricky, monkey. Um, right. And they said the people in charge were like, oh, wouldn't it be good if they had kids? Brilliant.
Starting point is 00:45:52 Right. So anyway, the chimps used to stand sort of, you know, they'd have the little caves each and they used to sort of, they used to sort of lean on the fence, a bit of a chat and stuff with each other. Just gossiping yeah, the equivalent sort of thing. So anyway they were getting on a storm and like the zookeepers were like... Can you hear that cheapest chimps this week? Huddly, it was fascinating. Yeah, just gossiping, I understand. So what was any monkey news?
Starting point is 00:46:21 What was the monkey news this week? Come on? It was from last September. So they were, you know, stood there having a chat and the zookeepers were like, I wonder if they're ever going to, you know, have kids and that. Anyway, it went on for ages, you know what? they were just chatting, you know what? I mean, just chatting? Are we just letting that go? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:46:45 I mean, just doing whatever monkeys do. Right. So, um, so yeah, so the zookeepers were like, yeah, I wonder when they're going to, you know, have some kids. Anyway, what they decided to do, to sort of do to egg them on. Yeah. dress right keep going no I'm not sure to me fade him down if he's gonna interrupt I want to go they got they got married so they got married yeah they got married right what that's the end of it this is why don't right that's the end of monkey news that's the end of monkey use don't do

Don't encourage in. And then what was the outcome? Once they got married, what happened? They fell in love? Yeah. What? What? It's not a marriage, Carl? It's not a real marriage. Um, they're not back off the roney moon yet.
Starting point is 00:48:17 Play record. You got no features left. Eve satisfaction, you singled on it. Yeah, X-FM, quick, play it. Right, we've went in three weeks, we are going to play it. I don't care whether we're late, we're late in because there was news, so play it. Which filming you in this week? Uh, looking at Silence the Lambs. Right, just play it. Have we got a question?
Starting point is 00:48:42 No, who cares? Who should should should should should should should. Should, should. Should, should. Should, should. play it just play have we got a question no okays should Carl carry on play it all right silence alarms the bit where Jodie Foster is having a chat good evening Clarice all right started come see you oh very thoughtful don't mind me popping in though, do you? It's
Starting point is 00:49:07 just no one else is interested in the sort of things I like talking about. People will say we're in love. Well, say what they want. Do you hear the show last week we were talking about gay people? If they should have their own toilets or not and stuff. That was good. It's all right, right. Got a good debate going. Enjoy doing the show. It's a favourite part of my week, really, just talking about weird stuff and that.
Starting point is 00:49:42 Oh Clarice, your problem is you need to get more fun out of life. I have a lot of fun in my life. You know, come and see you and spend a lot of time on the internet looking up weird stuff reading something about an airy Chinese kid. There's another thing, there's a fella who, uh, no arms and legs, it's known as a pillar man. Everything you need to find him is right there in those pages. Bizarre magazine. Yeah, I get this.
Starting point is 00:50:12 The hairy Chinese kid, what annoys me is he could sew it out, he could just have a shave, couldn't he? Do you know what I mean? No? He covets. Does he? Well, use some like e-mac stuff. Don't be getting funny with me, just because you're in a bit of a mood. You know you shouldn't eat people. Your eyes are bigger than your belly. I've always said that, so... See you later. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:50:48 Atmospheric, Moody. And the question is, okay, here I have it this. How many films have been made featuring the character Hannibal Lecter? How many films have been made? No, they can email in, they'll have time. Do you care? I don't care. No, exactly. Ricky Dr Javay's XFM. KOK, if you can be bothered, if you're interested in what, if you want a 499 copy on VHS, all signs of the land. It's dis-in that as well, Carl. that's it, that. It's annoying. That's annoying, but it. But, that. It's nine minutes to three. What's he doing? Is he going to record?
Starting point is 00:51:28 Carl, what can I do to get back on your quiz team? You're not... Go on. Talking to the sunbird, yesterday. Send him some essential oils or some of it or I just don't mean a little lavender pillow or just a little message. Send him a little message. Tell him it's all worth it. He's getting all grumpy, aren't you? I just get sick of it, that's all. It's not worth going through the stress for 30
Starting point is 00:52:00 quid every Saturday. You lie in little, you get more than 30 quid. Not much more. Anyway Steve who's the winner. The winner is Mike McNulty, he correctly answered the fact that there were four films featuring Hannibal Lek too. It's a downer. I think it was you actually. I mean I don't know Carl. It's not like I'm just trying to win myself a place on your team but I actually felt that Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky Ricky the the the th. I thought he was rude, aggressive, unpleasant, as one person emailed in, a dickhead. So, someone also said you were fat and talentless, so, so, um, oh, I don't like those emailers to do that sort of thing, but one of them said, you're really, really annoying. Well, cheers for that, but you still don't know what you're wearing. So, back next week.
Starting point is 00:52:51 What did you say? No. Cheers for that, me.
