Here's what you missed.
People wake up and go, oh, damn, wait a hold up.
They change all of that, yes.
It's real.
This is a wholesale attack.
It is targeting black people in every federal agency.
It's raw.
White folks have never allowed that reckoning to last more than a decade.

My name is Beaumani Jones.
Thanks for listening wherever you get your podcast.
Thanks for watching us on YouTube.

You only give us four stars.
I'm inclined to believe you are a hater.
It is Thursdays with Foxworth.
However, I feel like we need to talk about the fact we got some new digs around these parts.
Yeah, you normally ask me like you just throw it to me to start and I rarely
have anything and we go anywhere.
This time I was ready.
I was about to say it.
I don't know how many people listening
or how many people are on YouTube,
but if you are listener normally,
when your car stops or whatever,
just go and get on YouTube and check out this new set.
That may make me feel insecure, insufficient over here.
No, man, we got some new digs.
Our new partners at Playmaker Sports,
you may have noticed the logo on the microphone
before and other things. We just hadn't really talked
about it because we wanted to roll it all out
at one time. We've got a new studio.
We got new imaging, right?
It's just a chance to kind of spruce this up.
Our time of wave sports was fantastic.
They got us to different places, and now we're here with Playmaker,
and this is going to help take us even farther.
He can't talk today, but I got Ryan over here.
We're actually in the same place.
The question that I have is,
what does the woman at the front desk think I've been doing for money,
and what does she think I'm doing for money now?
I'm talking about in my building.
I just moved in that bad boy, and all I'm ever doing is just walking around.
Just, just round there.
I can't imagine what should.
she thinks I do for anything, right?
And now, for the first time in six years,
I got to put draws on before I come talk to you all.
There's so many unusual situations and unusual people in that magnificent city.
I imagine that she has an archetype in her mind of what you're up to.
It is not, I'm pretty sure that it's not what she would, it actually is.
But I would, you should interview her one day.
Like, what, because you know that she's sitting there all day and she know,
your ins and outs and whereabouts
and you know she concocted some story told her friends
like this young brother mood in the building.
Yep, yep, yep, there it is right there.
Can't quite like it all.
You don't seem like no gangster, right?
Yeah, right.
I got no idea, but no, we're gonna be here
four days a week making this work.
Oh, I just figured it out.
I'm sorry.
She think you caught a case.
She think that you, you caught a slip and fall.
Oh, she think you caught a slip and fall.
I got a settlement.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You got a sell of it.
She wondered if you got the lump sum or you got it paid over a long stretch.
Interesting.
Interesting.
You pulled off the Tracy Morgan.
Oh.
Yes.
Yes.
Boy, I tell you this, though, he earned that money.
Yeah, for sure.
And one day I'm going to ask her, because one of the cats on the weekend, he just, because I came across in his Instagram feed.
He saw that.
It was like, hey, I saw you, brother.
And I'm wondering if his phone hurt me in the lobby, right?
And then it all, like, tied over a came together or whatever it is, because he's not.
not a sports fan.
Right.
So they caught me, he saw me talking about hip hop.
And this definitely means when I see him on Saturday, he going to have something to say to
me, shit.
Can we get to that at some point?
I know we, I know we got to do sports stuff first.
You know, I have some thoughts on this.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well, we'll get to the baby face thing.
This has been a wild, wild, wild, like the things that people have said about me this
week.
Over something so inconsequential.
Something inconsequential between that and some people not liking my.
wire copaganda thing.
I'm a fake leftist
co-on.
You know, I just threw a hyphen in it, Dominique.
You understand what I'm saying?
I got you. I got you.
It's all, yeah.
I'm a co-on.
All right.
You know?
Yeah, you definitely are not that.
All right, definitely not that.
Hey, let me say this right fast before we go on.
Since I mentioned co-on,
co-on is on the stairway to heavenless.
When white people call somebody a co-on,
they mean it negatively.
And when black people call somebody a koan,
they mean it negatively.
However,
and everybody would be like,
hell yeah,
I can't stand a koan.
Yeah,
I can't stand the co-on.
And then white people point out the example of a koan,
and it's just a black dude.
And the black people are like,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
wait a minute, wait a minute,
what's going on here?
And the black people are like,
that's not what a koan is.
A co-on is somebody like,
you know,
some people
would say
that Herschel Walker
was a co-on.
Some people, I was not going to say that.
Some people would say that
Hershawaker was a co-on.
And then that white person who uses
co-on that other way, they pop up and like,
but I like him.
Because if a black person think he
a co-on, white people like that person.
If a white person think he a co-on,
black people now we got to defend
them. You understand what I'm saying?
way, that's how it makes the stairway to heaven. It's sound the same, but they different.
Stairways to happen. I'm glad you kept talking because there was, I was going to say some names
and then I was smart enough not to say that. Then I was going to like start hinting around. And then
the problem with that is it's not specific enough. That's right. That's right.
And y'all might. I feel I could name some politicians and I'd be straight, but whatever. The other part
is we legitimately believe that Co-On is fighting words.
And, God, I hope I don't have to fight Hersch Walker.
That's all I'm left with.
But I feel like I've, I feel like I moved this.
I feel like I feel like I did my part.
But hey, we got a lot of NFL action for your YouTube viewers.
We're going to be working on my outlines a little bit.
I'm going to be looking a little sporadic.
Sometimes I'm looking down.
Sometimes I'm looking up.
Dominique's up there.
It's new.
You know what I'm saying?
Clearly you can tell we move it in here.
I had a chance to put everything, you know, up on the walls yet.
have the Raiders earned the top of our show?
I feel like they've earned the top of our show.
We have a battle of three and O teams,
except it doesn't feel like they're three and no teams
because one of them is the Raiders.
Yeah.
There was no way I thought the beginning of this season
that this game was going to matter in any way.
I thought the Chiefs were going to be bad,
and I knew the Raiders are going to be bad.
The Raiders always bad.
They doing this Kirk Cousins thing?
No, this ain't going to work out.
Come to find out that Raiders' defense is for real.
And I think the offense caught up last week,
when Brock Bowers was healthy.
They,
that was their first real test.
Like they,
they won games against teams
that we thought were in their neighborhood.
And then the Saints are the first team that they played that we were like,
oh,
okay.
If you can fuck with the Saints,
then you're a serious outfit.
And the Saints just barely gained our respect this season.
There were a lot of people's like,
hipster pick because they had a ton of talent,
but putting it all together is another thing.
But they went toe to toe with these teams and with the Saints
and came out on top.
And the offense showed up.
We're going to give a lot of credit to Kubiak.
I think the head coach and offensive engine over there.
And I think he deserves it.
Like he's overachieved.
And you know, that's the coach of the year is based on like, who better than we thought.
Hey, hey, let me tell you something, man.
When Dennis Green was the head coach at Northwestern.
And for those of you who are too young to remember this, North Western used to be capital T, capital W, the worst.
Okay.
They had a year that they went, I want to call it two and nine.
Two and nine for the whole season.
Two and whatever in the Big Ten.
Dennis Green was Big Ten coach of the year.
Because that's what that was.
How many games should you really have to win
to be coached a year for the Raiders at this point?
You play 17 road games a year.
Okay.
Nick and Danny are going to be at that game in Las Vegas.
I only say this because I heard them already say it.
They're going to be at that game.
Why?
Because Nick's a Chiefs fan.
You get the point.
Right? Like all you're doing over there is playing road games.
I didn't, I mean, that's another complication of being in Vegas.
But I'm not sure if I told you this story before.
But when I was like at the union and we were starting to like try to fiddle with the pro
bowl collaborate with the NFL to fiddle with the pro bowl to try to move it to somewhere else
other than Hawaii, like making more fun.
And I kept pushing and suggesting Vegas.
I was like in my third year, third or fourth year in the league.
And Roger and most of the leadership on that side was like, hell no.
And then a bunch of players went and got arrested down there during NBA All-Star weekend.
And I was like, oh, yeah, I guess you guys are right.
So on top of the coach of the year candidacy for Kubiak, he got them boys in Vegas all year round.
He got them young boys in Vegas.
And somehow he'd get them to the games on the regular.
basically going up prepared and ready to play.
But I feel like maybe that's kind of the bright side of having the team in Vegas
is that the boys is always going to be with their driving distance of the facility.
If you can just talk a man, like, hey, man, just come in and put in an hour, dog.
Just put in a couple, you know, then the rest of the day is yours.
You know what I'm saying?
The problem, though, like Vegas is one of those places where you can develop some
friendships with people that you don't really.
I'm not worried as much about like, oh, they're going to go out, go out.
to act up.
I'm worried about they're there all the time.
God,
a lot of time.
I mean,
it's hard enough to keep the UNLV dudes.
Yeah.
That's the only coach that's like,
don't stay here during the off season.
Yeah, roll out.
Go to your small time, please.
Let me say this by the Raiders,
though, and you mentioned the Kirk Cousins thing.
For the long-term health
with their franchise,
I don't think anything is better
than if you could take your quarterback
and then somehow figure out
to be like a seven and 10,
eight and nine team, right?
not that good.
You still, you know, have decent draft position,
but there is no pressure for you to play your young quarterback, you know.
And, like, Mendoza ain't but so young.
Like, he'd been around the block a few times.
But if they can get through this whole season without having to play him,
I don't have the data to indicate this.
I just feel like it works out better if you don't have to play the guy.
I think that that might be, I agree with you.
But I would argue that it's less because.
he doesn't play and more because he doesn't have to play.
Meaning that it's less about him sitting and watching and learning.
I think that's an easy like one-to-one story to tell and more about your team is good enough
to support a young quarterback.
And if your team is good enough to rack up a couple wins without putting a ton of
of pressure on your young quarterback, whether he's in the game or out of the game or on
the sideline watching, I think that's the part that is.
valuable is that you're actually dropping a like underdeveloped piece into a situation that has
all the support and infrastructure.
I've been making this point for over a decade now that all the best quarterbacks in
the league came into good situations.
They grow into great quarterbacks, but they aren't initially.
Like all the guys that you think about are the best with the exception of Joe Burrow,
but he's been injured up and down.
Who knows, like throughout recent history, those guys.
They started in situations that were better than most of the situations that quarterbacks end up in.
And I think that's a real determinative factor.
And worth noting that Joe Burroughs situation, maybe that first year wasn't the best,
but that next year, the thing that Joe Burroughs always had when I've seen him be good,
Jamar Chase, Hall of Fame, get ready.
Yeah, that's a pretty good situation.
Let's just take this moment to appreciate that they let Joe Burrow,
Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson be on the same team in college.
There was a college team where Justin Jefferson was not the best receiver on the team.
What was anybody supposed to do with that?
Most of the teams you go up against don't have an NFL starter at corner on the other side.
No, no.
So whatever scheme you coming up with requires you to address
two Hall of Famers
because that's what they're going to be
with insurance salesman.
A pack of insurance salesman,
we're going to figure it out.
Oh yeah, and by the way,
the other teams don't have NFL corners,
but your team has Daryl Stingling.
Derek, not Daryl Stingley,
Derek Stingley.
It's more fraught.
You know, I mess up Justin and Jordan Jefferson a lot,
but throwing Daryl Stigley out there by accident,
that just makes everybody say it.
Yeah, that remind us that we,
were we all excited about us a little bit more?
Yeah, that's correct.
That's correct.
That's correct.
Chief's offense.
How sustainable do you think this is that we've seen?
Because I still feel like he ain't throwing to nobody.
Yeah.
I think it's pretty sustainable.
But you're right.
I think it's not like foolproof.
And that's like they spoiled us.
And whenever we see it early on when he had like peak Kelsey and Peak,
Tyreek.
We got a sense of what this offense could be in Peak Mahomes,
who was like trying to make a name for himself,
like trying to win MVP's.
We don't have that guy anymore that's pushing,
not that he doesn't have the ability,
but he doesn't seem to be trying to, like,
he knows that his career is going to be determined by Super Bowls,
and he's playing that way.
And I think the offense is sustainable,
but it's not going to be like record-breaking, scary.
Like, we can go ahead and cash this in before you show up.
We know you're going to win.
And that's because you just not going to find that type of talent.
Like we talk about Hall of Famous, these guys, that's what they had out there.
And it's just never going to be that where you can throw a short past the Tyree.
He's going to take it to the crib.
You can throw a medium past Tyree.
He's going to take it to the crib.
And Mahomes and Kelsey are going to have used their brain meld to find an option on third down to get another set of downs.
It's just you ain't getting that bad.
You ain't finding no guys like that.
So, yeah, that ain't happened.
They mentioned Joe Burrow.
We got Cincinnati and Jacksonville on Sunday.
That is a very intriguing matchup, right?
You can argue it is a very good matchup.
And it feels weird, even after all these years,
to be like, oh, both of them are pretty good.
I might tune in to see them do battle.
And I feel like this game can only go one way with those two quarterbacks.
Both of them play pretty well.
And then at the end, one of them is going to make a mistake.
And then the other team's going to win.
And then that one guy's going to get played for it.
Yeah, that's probably about right.
I actually think the Jags running game has been so effective this year that that gives me a little bit more, like, faith in what they got going on.
And the Chiefs defense, or the Bengals defense, like, statistically is much more improved in certain games have seemed dominant, especially up front.
What happened to them last week against the Steelers, like, I'm not sure how many games it takes for me to, like, completely believe in a unit or a green.
group. But given the Bengals history, I'm in need more than two. That's what they gave me.
It's like two defensive games, one against the Texans, and then a win up against the Steelers
office that we thought was Buns and didn't show up. So like I have not been completely
converted to a Bengals defensive believer yet. Oh, yeah, let me tell you something. I don't know how many
games they'd have to play. Like my priors on that are so strong, boy. Like you're not just shaking
me off of that one. Speaking of shaking off of priors,
Shout out to that boy, Liam Cohen.
Because, I mean, he had an introductory press conference to overcome.
And I would be honest with you, usually they don't.
Nick Serriotti has been to two Super Bowls and won one.
Still hasn't really overcome that press conference.
Don't get me started on Adam Gase.
Did Dan Campbell overcome the press conference or simply change the way we looked at the press conference?
Yeah, Dan didn't overcome it for sure.
Dan, see, the thing that...
He just made you like it.
Yeah, I think.
that Gase and Siriani left their press conferences in which they had to do over.
Yes.
Dan Campbell left that press conference.
Like, I expressed exactly what I wanted to express.
You all could choose to think it's funny or whatever.
I think I'm a caveman or whatever.
That's fine.
That's who I am.
That's what these players know me to be.
It may be a work, maybe it don't, but that's me.
But Liam seems to be a good coach.
Yeah.
Somebody tried to pull up on him last year during the game.
Didn't they?
It was Robert Sal.
Robesola tried to pull up on him.
I forget.
By the way, what I would not want if I was Bobani Jones
or certainly if my name was Liam,
is Sala pulling up on me.
That would give the news cycle a whole different thing
to talk about this time of year.
I don't need that.
No, no.
And Colin seems to be a little bit of a troll.
Like, how funny would it have been if they had been trying
to separate them?
They'd been like, yeah, that's right.
Free Palestine.
No, no.
He would never.
There's no chance that Liam would do anything like that.
I normally, like, I would never tell, like, when you at, like, certain types of parties or events or whatever, like, you see famous people.
And they're, like, relaxing and whatever, you don't like, if something happens when they do something or whatever, like, it's just kind of understood.
Like, you're not supposed to talk about that.
But I will tell a Liam Cohen story from a Super Bowl party because I believe that he would.
not mind this is we had one of these two bowl parties in the VIP is all party happening all
this good stuff going on like everything you could imagine it's happening at this party is very
cool Liam Cohen had I think it was was it uh Solomon Thomas maybe he has Solomon Thomas
cornered and I was curious so I walked over they talking about duo blocking schemes wow
I'm like, come on, man.
He looked like Solomon looked like he wanted out of there.
I have a couple of observations, but one of them is,
as much as I would love to get on Liam Cohen for being too much about football
because he's talking about blocking schemes at the Super Bowl party,
you've got to be really into football to identify Solomon Thomas without a Solomon Thomas jersey.
In fact, in 2026, it would take more than a Solomon Thomas jersey because I don't know what team he plays for.
It would need to be S-O-L dot Thomas on the back
in order for me to pull that off.
Solomon Thomas, your friendly reminder,
the guy the 49ers drafted when they could have taken Patrick Mahomes.
I used to say they could have taken Patrick Mahomes or Deshaun Watson,
but now that he nasty D, that one doesn't like,
that one doesn't sting as much.
No, yeah, yeah, no, no, no, no, no.
They may have saved themselves a world of problems.
But that being said,
they owner bust out the crib without no confirmation
trying to find it and pulled it into a trailer part
trying to get it nasty Jay
Filthy Jay
that's that's that's that's that's
filthy Jay you know what filthy Jay got though he got that dog in him
yeah we don't that's one thing we don't appreciate in sports
is when you got too much dog yeah it was way too much dog
you got to tame that dog
put nothing in a crate sometimes
He called it for false start.
Locked up into neutral zone.
There's a sports analogy for everything,
which I appreciate.
There's not as much of the stretch
when we're talking about sports teams
and people affiliate with him,
but my cousin always calls me
when there's something in the news
or whatever he calls me,
it makes the sports analogy for it.
And Ball Start is perfect for that one.
Yeah.
He was definitely lined up in the neutrals.
He was.
Davinae moved out there,
Free Palestine very, very quickly.
I was trying to,
yeah,
hey,
if you want to have a conversation about it.
I would just say this right fast about Free Palestine.
Have you seen Dwight Howard talk about that time he tweeted Free Palestine?
No.
I forget when this was,
but out of the blue,
Dwight Howard sent a tweet that said,
Free Palestine.
Okay.
Now, put a pin in that.
This was recent?
It was a few years ago.
Okay.
Right.
Put a pin in this.
A few years ago, I was very curious about rates on home equity lines of credit.
I'll just, I wonder what I could get, right?
And so I thought that I was filling out information for a calculator and it was like,
just like a mortgage calculator.
Like with these, what the rates are, it will just give you the information.
I didn't realize that what I was doing
was putting in an application basically on a website
that it would then be distributed to everybody.
The second I clicked,
send, my phone rang.
And it just rang over and over again
with people trying to talk to me
about a home equity line of credit.
And that is basically what Dwight Howard describes,
that he basically hit send
and immediately,
it was motherfuckerfucking,
swinging for ropes into his house or whatever it is.
But like, hey, hey, hey, that's got to, that, that's got to go down.
Like, you remember what it was like?
Oh, you remember what it was like when Darrell Moore, he said free Hong Kong.
Yeah.
That was just Hong Kong.
I wasn't sure if it was people swinging in, like trying to have him be more engaged in that
movement.
No, no, no.
Those people were, giving in saying, give me the phone.
Give me the fucking phone.
What are you talking about?
They said, they just like, whoa.
Just everybody.
freaked out if that moment.
Yeah. Now you the the I mean this is normal for any of these sorts of cycles and it's a
trap that I've been able to like as I've gotten older been able to recognize and avoid is like
what I get fed a lot now is not attempts to convince me of a position but to what about
everything else right? So like that's what I feel like is now happening. I'm sure that I
fall into plenty of social media traps, but some of I think I'm wise to. And I think that they
saw me swipe past enough of these, these things that say, actually, you got this wrong. And now what
I've been getting later is like, what about them Uyghurs though? Yeah. And I find myself looking at
my phone like, yeah. True. However, that go lie. Totally forgot about the Uighers.
Exactly.
22,
Uighurs was the hottest thing in these streets.
Everybody was talking about the Uighurs.
Now, now,
I get it like,
but would have all Sudan, though?
I'd be getting them Sudan,
them Sudan TikToks too.
I was about to say,
it's been so long,
I forgot how you spell Uighur,
and that's why I ain't got no interest in no TikTok.
Ain't no, like, uh-uh, uh-uh,
I'm staying out of that one.
I ain't got no reason to participate in that world.
I'm an awkwardly changed the subject, though,
get back right fast to a little football
because I'm curious about this for you.
I'm not going to lie.
I ain't watched no 49th's game yet.
I didn't feel like watching that,
I had something to do it at night of the first game.
And then after that,
I didn't feel like they was really playing NFL teams.
I think it was Arizona and Miami.
But it sounds like Brock Purdy,
hey, man, shout out to him.
He has made this thing work, right?
Like, I don't know how good he is,
but I know he's not bad.
Yeah.
I will send you some
clips of some of the plays that he is making and you'll be impressed.
I don't know what got into him.
Because like there are of course operating the offense and all that stuff.
It's kind of what people say about Brock Purdy as a knock on him.
And of course, Mr. Irrelevant, like he doesn't have these great physical tools.
And the biggest credit that anyone would give him is like he got the balls to believe that
Kyle Shanahan was right and he'll throw into a window that's not there because Kyle
said it's going to be there.
And that's like a sideways compliment to say that you like gutsy,
but you ain't really producing this.
Nah, man.
Like I, this is the like the zero sum nature of this stuff that we do sometimes
that I think is, it's probably true in some cases,
but there's only so many points that we're allowed to give out.
And it feels like if you give them to the quarterback,
you're taking them from the coach or coordinator.
And we don't appreciate the idea that sometimes you put two things,
one in one could equal four in certain cases.
and I feel like Brock Purdy did fit into that categorization
of he was kind of being carried by the players around him
and the offense and not making mistakes at one point.
I don't think that's true anymore.
I think the thing to remember about Brock Purdy is,
and I think watching Case Keenham on Monday
should be a bit of an illustration of the point I'm making.
Regardless of what you think about Case Keenham,
Case Keenham put up numbers in college.
And Case Keenum sees himself as the guy
who put up numbers in college
and, oh, by the way, quarterbacked a team to an NFC championship game.
What you think about him is not the same in all likelihood.
So when you pull Case Keenham out to go start that game on Monday night,
Case Keenum is like, all right, time to give these people what they came for, right?
And he's doing that thing.
Brock Purdy's like a conference player of the year caliber dude when he was in school.
Yeah, he's like, why shouldn't I be out here playing?
Like, I was out here.
I saw these other cats.
You know, like, I got this.
You get the case Keatom thing also where he's old enough to know to tell us that bullshit.
Because if you see at the beginning of the game, he was like, I just want to see how it goes.
I want my kids really wanted to see me play.
And I'm going to go out there and play ball.
And no matter what, chips fall where they may, I'm going to be happy.
That's the general vibe that he told to our Laura Rutledge.
Did you see that post gay?
You know, you knew exactly where I was going.
because that's what he was thinking.
He was like, I'm going to say this because this is the right thing to say.
But what I was actually thinking was, this was taken from me.
I'm a Hall of Fame if they were to give me the chance.
And I just showed y'all motherfuck.
The look on his face when he said, I ain't no cowboy, but this ain't my first goddamn rodeo.
And it all built to that moment.
Like you saw he was doing all the right things and just saying the stuff.
And all that resentment just came out of him all at once, right?
there. He said he
this was taken from me.
I asked the part that stood out in the
buildup. He said this was
taken from me. Like he thought
he was the guy in Minnesota.
Yes. Why not?
Why not? No, no. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. That's what's
wild about all these certain. And who did they
replace him with? Kirk Cousins.
Exactly. And they paid all the
wow. He's like no. Yeah.
The man right.
Yeah. He threw something
the Eagles they ain't catch him though but he's still

All right, we are back on here with Dominique Foxworth, and I'll be honest with you.
I talked a lot of football with Deontay the other day.
I looked at the rest of these games.
I don't really want to talk about the Lions right now because it doesn't make me feel very good.
So we'll get to some football maybe, but it's other stuff that's going on.
And, okay, we'll start here.
Dominique said, and I need you guys to understand something,
especially for those of y'all who go back with me, right?
Because I've talked about this for a while,
the approach that I'm taking with the work I do and everything else is,
I do this for the people that's been with me for the longest, right?
I've been doing this for 26 years.
I do this primarily for the people that's been with me for 26,
then for the 25, like, it is important to me.
I'm at that very satisfied place in what I do, right?
And so that means that a lot of y'all who are here
have been hearing me say this thing about Babyface for a very long time,
And I don't know if everybody was always this bad,
but I didn't know people had the capacity to get this mad.
I was referred to as both anti-black and anti-real inward.
Yo, I'm telling you, man, I even got people I know.
I got a friend of mine who jumped on Instagram to cop a plea for me and say,
no, he's my friend.
He's just doing it for clicks.
And I want to hit her up and be like,
yo, have you lost your mind?
What are you doing?
But anyway, that's, it's been an interesting week.
I am curious, it's been so bizarre.
But I am curious, Dominique, you said you had a baby face thought, and I wonder what it is.
Yeah, no, I've been catching.
Of course, my feet being that you and I are close and I'm a black man of a certain age,
and my feet has been filled up with a lot of the baby face reactions.
And my first thought was like, why is everybody so fired up?
That I kind of realized two things is we all want to be right and we all want to be celebrated.
And when they think, when you think you got an easy win, then people pile on.
But the thing that really resonated with me, the more I thought about it, because like you,
no one has made an argument opposite you.
Like you've made an argument that is supported by your facts or your opinions and in some level of like justification.
everyone else's argument is
but baby face
it's essentially some
version of but he's talking about baby face
and like okay I get what you're saying there
is like this is too absurd to even engage with
however I think the reason why people are so offended
and I have we all have this experience where it's like
what songs in particular in sports
and certain art in a time means to you
it becomes a part of you.
And so you being critical of baby face
is also you being critical of their childhood.
And I think sometimes,
or at least who they think themselves to be,
because I think some of the things
that the cases you're making are somewhat,
even though it's subjective,
it's somewhat undeniable about like the creativity
and the complexity of the songs.
But I think the same thing could be true for like,
I loved the teenage mutant ninja turtles.
Yeah.
Loved them.
But I'm not going to, if you tell me,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
ain't better than the wire
I'm gonna be like
you're right
but Donatello meant so much to me
when I was young
That's my thing
Here's my thing
We could disagree
Yeah
I think that people are under this impression
That I have no rule
For people to disagree
Which I believe to be untrue
And I feel like
My shows with you are a great example of this
We do a great job
But disagree with each other
The irony of it is
Nobody trying to let your boy
Have his own opinion
Nobody in the way
It, okay, if we just...
It's because it's you too.
I think that's also part of it.
It's kind of like we're talking about Nicole Hannah-Jones.
Some people have been waiting on their chance, right?
And they feel that this is their opportunity.
I want to say this one thing, though, about the idea of simple songwriting.
I need to clarify.
Bob Marley writes simple songs.
I love Bob Barley songwriting, right?
I play your favorite song.
We can rock it all night long.
there's a whole scene set up right there in those two sentences, right?
Like, I'm not expecting people to be out here.
Not everybody's got to be out here kicking wicked complex mathematics.
In fact, I don't really like that per se.
I don't mean that I feel like something is simple just to say that it's not complex.
I mean simple, like, ton.
You know what I mean?
And I know that people don't necessarily like that when they hear that.
But no, most great songwriters are simple and get right to the point.
I just don't like this dude.
I don't like his, I mean, and I don't mean not him.
I don't know that cat, you know, right?
It ain't even about my general aversion to the level of something that he's offered a measure of endorsement for.
I'm not even talking about that.
I just, cats is ready to excommunicate me.
It's all I've done, I've not even all I've done.
No, not that.
But I thought I had earned a little trust out here in these streets.
I thought I had some equity out here.
Nobody got no equity, dog.
I think that's the thing is there's so many people in the world.
You have plenty of equity with plenty of people.
The people who are jumping up, you don't got no equity with them.
That's a whole different audience.
I guarantee you that people who you have equity with are not like,
this is crazy.
I hate this man.
He's stupid.
He'll know nothing about music.
And I think I fell into this trap.
Like, if I read anything that I wrote a long time ago,
is like mistaken complexity for good writing.
And like the best writing is about.
about getting a point across in like the simplest way,
the most efficient way possible and like evoking
some sort of emotion in people.
And if if Babyface did that for you
when you was in the fifth grade and he don't do that for you now,
not you Beaumonti, but just anybody, that's fine.
And if that's what you wanna say, that's okay.
And if he moves you, that's fine, but I don't know.
To me, it feels a lot like sports.
And that's why it does feel perfect where it's like,
we can hate on Jalen Hertz as Eagles fans.
They'd be killing them.
Well, but let you say something.
bad about them. Well, there's also, if one wishes to be, if I were to be a more self-aggrandizing
fellow than I am, one could argue that people, when they want you to like them and want you
to like what they like, they become even more disappointed when you don't like what they like.
So this is perhaps in the eyes of some of these people, actually a grand show of respect and
their simple disappointment that I am not here to affirm whatever their opinion may be. Now,
If I were that type of person, I would offer that rather than simply proposing it as a theory of sorts.
I would say that like we all put ourselves in different groups and I imagine that a lot of the people who are putting out this like you're anti-black or.
Well, that's just people who don't know how to talk. That's the internet breaking people's brains.
But I think that that's not a real comment. I think the, but the sentiment is real. And I think that the sentiment is real. And I think that,
those people are probably people who see you and them as of the same, like, ilk.
It's like, I'm a middle-aged, smart, left-leaning, sophisticated person and, like,
who's also, like, cool, and Beaumonti, like, represents that.
And then you said something that they don't agree with.
Right.
Well, it was like, I thought you was my boy.
Also, potentially eight years after I said something about their mothers and ways that we could have a great time.
You know, like, they be taking about them chickens, boy.
They come home to Roots, man.
You know, they come home to Roos.
I want to throw this out here, though.
Mike Tomlin did something fascinating, okay?
And I'm trying to-
Before we move to Mike Tomlin, you should, like, have an episode at some point
where you, like, do have this conversation
with someone who has a smarter opinion on music than I do.
Like, I'm not as in depth in R&B.
I probably should, right?
But we got to let this go after this week, man.
I guess it's been numbers, though.
So here's the thing.
It'll do numbers for Kev.
It'll be, it'll do numbers for all these other angry people.
That's why it's it bringing on here.
But it hasn't really done numbers for us.
That is the worst part about this.
It's what I always say about this goddamn social media and all this exploitation.
Everybody else get the numbers off being mad at me.
When I'm like, hey, don't you want to hear me talk about it?
Fuck you.
You know what happens?
Camp takes another little piece of it
and then they just go run over there
and talk to him.
My bad.
Nah, nah, nah.
It's been a weird week.
It's been a weird week.
But also weird.
Mike Tomlin, I'll be honest with you.
It's funny, we talked about this off Mike.
Hey, Mike, I have been surprised
at how good he's been on television
because I felt like he spent so much effort
not telling us things that I had no way to know
if you would actually have anything to say to us, number one and number two,
he was working for the most boring of the broadcast in NBC.
That's just the brand.
They got like Maria's incredible on there, but I feel like she's too good for that.
She got all that energy and everybody else is over there like, hey, hey, hey,
somebody's trying to take a nap over there, you know?
Like that's the vibe.
But Tomlin's over there with things to say.
The Browns is the Browns.
He's being critical of coaching decisions, things you don't see.
And then Mike Tomlin shared with the world.
And this don't mean a whole
It don't mean a whole lot to me.
However, apparently,
and I learned this because Spencer called me to tell me,
he's a really big Minecraft thing.
And for those of you who don't know what Minecraft is,
it appears to be kind of similar to like SimCity, right?
Where you get on the computer and you build your city
and you plant it out and you put buildings and stuff.
And at least from what I could tell for what Mike Tomlin was talking about,
That's what it was because he got a city that he's been building since 2015,
including a Trump Tower that he says,
quote, I didn't think he would win when I built it because he built it in 2015.
And he was running through the insides of the buildings and the decor and the decisions that he made.
His son, did you see this?
His son got on Twitter and was like, I would come home some days,
and my PlayStation would be gone and I wasn't even on punishment.
Because Mike Tomlin was over there on the PlayStation making up his city.
Spencer was explaining to me that there are all these different ways you could do it.
You could do it on a desktop far easier ways.
No, Mike Tomlin does it on the PS5, and that man sounded so, like, satisfied and happy.
Like, when you see those videos of people with their houses and architectural digest,
and they just love to show off what it is they've done, that was Mike Tomlin talking about playing this simulated whatever it is.
Yeah.
So I am.
Hold on.
This says that video of him on YouTube talking about this got 700,000 views.
That, uh, the intersection of people that will be interested in that is so huge.
Like, of people online is like Steelers, football fans and also like all the Minecraft community,
which has to be really huge.
And my understanding is it's slightly different than Sim City is like Sim City is like you're
pretending to be a mayor and there are actual.
goals and responsibilities to doing it.
And this is kind of, you do whatever you want.
It's more like building art to me, right?
Or making, like sculpting in a way where you are dropped into like a landscape
with a dude and a hatchet.
Got you.
And you got to gather shit.
Oh, okay.
So you're starting for much more of a zero.
I believe so.
Like my kids, they haven't played Minecraft.
They're older now and forever.
But apparently they're not too old.
they're definitely not too old.
But maybe you got to come back around to it.
It's like puzzles.
Like you do puzzles when you're a kid.
You do puzzles when you're old.
Ain't much puzzling in between when you got other things to do.
But yeah,
that makes it even more impressive if all that is true.
But yeah,
it seems like it could be incredibly cathartic for somebody like that
who has this drive to like do something.
Yes.
But also like the work is high pressure.
Like, look,
I have built this.
today. Something was done. Like as simple as it sounds, I recognize how good that feels and sitting at a
computer reading and watching tape and all that. Like sometimes I feel like I ain't done shit today.
But if I, if I make something, because you got some, you got some evidence, you got some receipts.
Now my question for him is, has he ever sounded that happy and satisfied watching something that
happened in football as he is there? Like, I think that with football, there's no way to look at a
glass half full. Like the watching film is always in looking for the mistake or looking at the
whole all he sees in Minecraft is what he has accomplished and also loved mike tablo
we'd always had him as like the coolest of the coaches and he came out and wanted to be like
hey guys um not saying that i've looked into this officially but i might have a touch of that tism
just a there's a dollop just a just the dollop of it i'll tell you this my friends who have that touch of
Tizzle are so excited that Mike Toblin is over there doing their stuff.
Yeah, I mean, and I think there are, like anything in the world, there are huge benefits.
Yeah.
To any type of character trait that you could have, if you can find it and channel it in the right way, like, thank God, Michael Jordan was six, six, and athletic as well.
Yes, yes, yes.
Because, you know, he didn't develop that personality as a result of playing basketball.
He was a he's a basketball playing psychopath
Which he was not he was always going to be a psychopath
We need to be glad he figured out he could play basketball
Before he figured out that he could fight
Because otherwise he just he'd be the dude
Challenging the biggest dude at the bar
Yeah every time he pulls up
That's a lot nicer than I thought it might have ended up
There we go you're just fighting that bar is we good
Oh oh yeah well yeah there's that
There's there's also
There's there's also there's
also that element.
Timeline ain't coming back to no coaching.
This is, like the only time we go hear about who coming back to coach it
is going to be in coincidentally, he's in the final year of his contract with NBC.
Yep.
You're right.
He got to use that negotiation tactic.
He's going to go take some Rooney Rule interviews just to get that money up on NBC.
Yo, I ain't going to lie, though.
If Mike Toblin started taking the Rudy Rule interviews, I'd be done with him.
I would be completely done with him.
He should make a business out of it.
Just every offseason,
he should have all them come to his house.
They're like,
look, put some money,
there's some money on the table.
I got five minutes for all of you.
Like to do a speed date situation.
In fact,
the best part is we would find a way,
this is how they would give the game away
because they would be like,
do you remember that time that Jerry Jones
asked Dennis Green to do a video interview
or telephone interview
as their Rudy Rule interview?
I didn't I don't remember that
Yeah that's how they would give the game away
On this one is they'd be like hey Mike
How about even if we just get you to zoom in
How's that? You want me to do what?
Mike wouldn't do that
I would hope that Mike would not do that
But after I saw Mike playing Minecraft
I feel like anything is on the board
I have no idea I do think though
Him saying that thing about Trump
I didn't think he would win
That was a good of a
Good to know
Good to know
You can't assume with football players
Yeah. Oh, no, no, you're right. We, we, um, yeah, we, we talked about this last time.
We are a much more conservative rule following. Yes. Group of people and like, which I guess isn't consistent with, with that particular president, but it is certainly more conservative and like, yeah.
Well, it's a little bit more the issue comes into like following the lead of the people at the front of your rooms.
There's a lot of respect for people at the front of the room.
And them cats is, um, them cats vote for Trump.
Speaking of which, I just saw NBA champion Knicks still undecided if they will visit
the White House.
And I know that Dolan said they was going to go.
These cats got, like, what y'all going to do?
Yeah.
I don't get the sense that, I mean, I don't know them personally, but it don't feel like
there's a bunch of guys on that team.
that are looking to create any waves.
So I agree.
But they'll do whatever they think will be least waiving.
The problem is it might be way either way.
Which waves?
Like the waves with the dude upstairs?
The waves with the people in the street?
Like, let's it, let's it go be.
Here's a question.
I know what game I would run if I was Trump.
I would try to schedule my next powwow with Zoron.
around that and try to like run it all together,
a big old New York celebration.
But that's assuming that you think that he don't want the drama.
Like I think that he prefers the drama.
No, no.
I think that Trump definitely wants the team to be there.
And Zoran is their buddy.
Yeah.
Like, I mean, I'm not saying Zoran would go along with it,
but I would be trying to triangulate this if I was Trump.
Don't forget, Dolan don't like Zon.
Ron.
Yeah, of course.
So if the team, like,
right?
So the team needs Zoron to be there.
And then Dolan don't want to hollad at Zoran.
Because remember, didn't,
didn't Dolan say something crazy to Zoran at the parade?
Oh, he like, yeah, he like came on after him.
Yeah.
Was shooting subs, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
These people are.
All right,
I'll say this last thing before we go just because I found it interesting.
And I feel like the people who listen to this show will find this interesting.
Have you seen these articles that people have had about how the Republicans
had planned to make Zoh.
to make Zoran the boogeyman
like Obama and Biden have been these
boogeymen this whole time and the plan was to make
Zoran to boogeyman and the problem
is while many people fervently disagree
with him they all like him
including Trump
so like all these they it doesn't work
like you don't want to be like
Bob Donnie they're like oh you know he's got to cute
that's a reminder that
all this highfalutin talk we do
is you cool or not
I fuck with you or nah
like that's like ultimately which like
that's what the party system is
like putting the stamp of approval on somebody like
yeah he won us you can fuck with him
yeah counterpoint Ted Cruz
yeah keeps all winning
somehow amazingly
oh one last thing now that I think about it
because I have you here
you were in the studio
when Nick Saban pulled up
on get up
and continued his pro
protect college sports act rap and he got up there these coaches are on this one the the coaches
are worth more than players yet they feel the need to cap the salary for players but not you know
if that's the case then the market as mina has said many times if that's the case let the market
dictate it but they did they they let you on there with them dominique oh you think I asked
I didn't know you did on there I asked and and we talked about what we could do in the future
about like on this specific topic.
But at the moment, and like, of course,
I have respectful shake his hand and whatever.
I disagree with it.
But like I hadn't really weighed in,
but I had to go and do something on my show
because I just felt so gross.
And like I wasn't on set.
If I'm on set,
I have to ask the question.
Like they just did,
they broke away from our normal get up structure
to do like a one-on-one interview with him about his documentary.
And then he pumped that,
that bill.
It just was like, like I wish, and of course I talked to Greenie and he had said he hadn't read much about it.
And I was like, I wish somebody would have gave him a little bit of pushback.
So, and I went home wondering like, what would I have done if I had time to prepare?
And I boiled it down to one simple question that I did off the top of my podcast is like,
when people start talking about this and talking about the chaos in college sports or women's sports or transfer rules or salary caps,
And they say that the Protect College Sports Act is a solution.
You need to ask them this one question is who gets the power to make the rules,
to change the rules and enforce the rules.
And the answer is going to be the team, the schools, the administrators,
it's essentially reverting back to the way the system was in the NCAA.
And I think they wisely put some reasonable, like, rules in there to say, this is what we're going to do.
Because you can look at it and say that's reasonable.
But that ain't nothing but a bait and switch.
It's like we, or not even a bait and switch.
It's like, we're going to give you this, this small gift.
If you sign this sheet and you're like, oh, that's a nice gift.
You sign that sheet and then you look up and you're like, oh, I'm stuck again.
They want antitrust protection.
It's like I just wanted a T-shirt.
and now I got a credit card with a 30% interest rate.
Yeah, and it's unfortunate because I've seen a bunch of people
who I know are on the like, this is a business
and the players should have some rights.
I've seen people online say things like,
oh, no, but like the salary cap will be so high
and this will be so good.
Like it's the same thing that baseball is trying to do now
in order to get a salary cap.
Like, no, we'll make sure that you make more this year than you did last year, you know, under the cap.
But they're playing a long game.
They're looking to get the current players to sell out the future players.
That's the same thing they're doing in college, looking to get the this, or they're doing it different.
They're like, nah, we ain't even going to talk to you.
We can go over your head.
We don't get the government to come in and say that we ain't got to follow no rules.
We can be the only business.
They ain't got to follow no rules.
And like, of course, pro sports teams have antitrust exemptions.
I know you know that.
But the reason why they had those antitrust exemptions is because they are required to collectively bargain the rules that the players live under.
Yep.
It is my thing I say to ESPN, I, Beaumani Jones, not Dominique Postworth.
Yeah.
Is you don't have to talk to Nick Saven about that because Nick Saving is not an expert on that bill.
He is simply a proponent for it.
By the time that bill had gotten passed, they put some of stuff in it.
I don't know if Saving even knows all the things that are actually in it.
For whatever reason he has chosen that this is his call.
and he is a proponent, but he is not somebody that is there to offer information.
He is only there to campaign for it.
Right.
And so to me, your audience, you don't owe that to your audience.
I do think you owe your audience a measure of information on it.
But it gets to something to me, when people, when Burke Magnus has said that ESPN is going to cover college football more, and I get it.
And the idea is that the ratings are so high on the games, then it should be talked about more on the shows.
But the reason that those shows typically don't talk more college football,
is it's so much information, so much information to consume,
and then it becomes somewhat difficult to decide what information,
until you get deeper into the season and what the big games are become clearer,
your audience doesn't operate from the same baseline level of information on things, right?
So like Ohio State and Indiana is going to come.
You can't just talk about Indiana or Ohio State when it comes around.
Like, well, everybody knows who the quarterback is.
Everybody knows who the dot-da-da-da.
No, because there's so much that goes on.
And that's what gets me about the issue when talking about this bill is it has so much
information and there's so many things that's surrounded that when it gets thrown out there
it's hard to talk about responsibly before a national audience just because we're not operating
from a baseline that everybody understands and so when you put savin out there you're treating
it like everybody understands what's going on and he's just there well you know what it is and
now we're operating for shared information no instead of the information becomes the campaigning
from Nick Saban or the campaigning for Ted Cruz,
because I tell you who I bet they could call.
I bet you get Jay Billis in there,
and I bet it'll sound a little bit different, you know,
and I haven't seen anybody pipe Jay in from his house yet.
Just say it.
If that's what we doing, that's what we can do,
but I also, to be fair, understand how television producers work,
and they're like, hey, that's the thing that's going on right now.
Why don't you throw this out here?
We'll be able to do that.
We can clip some of it.
We can throw it on social,
we'll get some engagement, and it'll go from there.
Yeah, I mean, I am not like ascribing any nefarious behavior to anybody.
Like my guess is the most powerful people in sports are also the most famous people in college sports,
also the most famous people in college sports.
It just so happens that the athletes, they don't stay in college long enough to be associated with college in the way that these guys are.
So when you want someone on a show, you're going to get a star.
and the stars happen to be the administrators and the coaches.
And for the administrators and the coaches, this bill makes perfect sense.
So, like, that's my thing.
It's like, I don't think Nick Saban, I'm not going to say whether he's good or bad.
That ain't my role.
I don't care.
And the same thing can be said about all the other people who've been promoting this bill across our network.
And I don't think that the producers or anybody has this master plan.
Like, you know, yeah, we're going to win this.
We're going to get this pass in the House in the Senate.
You're going to get the signed in the law.
I don't think anybody's thinking like that.
I think they're like,
Nick Saban wants to come on our show.
We want Nick Saban on the show.
He wants to talk about what?
All right, we'll ask him a question about that,
get it out the way because ultimately,
also, no one cares.
Like, no one is tuning in Nick Saban to find out,
like the people who are trying to coax into watching the show
aren't like, I wonder how Nick Saban feels about the college sports bill.
And so, like, even including that is a favor.
And then what I would,
one and all of us will want is like now we got to push back and they're like no we want to get that
out and get it off and get back to the stuff that they care about and my thought is like which is why
I kind of came up with this little simple question who gets the power and who has the control yeah
like I don't want to talk about all this good stuff that it does all this great stuff that's
helping anybody who has any of these people on or anybody who is promoting this bill also ask
who has the power who gets to control
That's it.
Let me tell you, the biggest test that we could do,
if somehow with that revenue sharing number or whatever it is,
put that coach's staff number in that same pot,
and now we're going to find out who really worth this money.
Right.
AD, put them all in there.
And we're going to let the mark, in this case,
was the clips out, let God sort of about.
Yep.
God is the market.
Like I always say,
y'all pray to it.
In Adam Smith,
Adam Smith, wealth, nation, the idea of the invisible hand,
God.
Yeah.
That's all that's what they're saying is.
Well, how's the rest of it going to work it out?
God, God, go work it out.
Right?
Let God work it out right here.

People wake up and go,
oh damn, wait a moment, hold up.
They change all of that?
Yes.
It's real.
This is a wholesale attack.
It is targeting black people
in every federal agency.
It's raw.
White folks have never allowed
that reckoning to last more than a decade.
