The Right Time with Bomani Jones - Vernon Maxwell GOES OFF on Celtics trading Jaylen Brown, Spurs Collapse vs. Knicks | 07.09

Episode Date: July 9, 2026

Bomani Jones is joined by Vernon “Mad Max” Maxwell for a long, funny, and extremely candid NBA conversation on this episode of The Right Time. Maxwell returns to the show to talk about his second ...act in sports media, how he still trains like a player, and why he believes some of the biggest storylines in the league are being misunderstood. Bomani and Max dive deep into the Jalen Brown conversation, including why Maxwell remains so high on Brown as a player, why he thinks the criticism has gone too far, and what Brown could look like in Philadelphia alongside Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid. They also get into what Boston may have gotten wrong, whether Jayson Tatum should have done more to keep Brown around, and why the Celtics’ decision still doesn’t sit right with Max. The conversation also covers Hakeem Olajuwon’s one-of-one greatness, Giannis Antetokounmpo trade speculation involving the Miami Heat, LeBron James’ future after the Lakers, the appeal of a Jokic-LeBron fit in Denver, LaMelo Ball’s evolution, Jalen Brunson’s footwork and mentality, and why Victor Wembanyama could be on the verge of becoming the face of the NBA. Starting point is 00:00:01 Wave. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time, a Wave Original. My name is Bobani Jones. Thanks for listening, wherever you get your podcast. Thanks for watching us on YouTube. Subscribe, like, rate us, review us,
Starting point is 00:00:20 give us five stars. You only give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you are a hater. It is that time of week where we have a guest join us. I don't know how it is. It's only the second time that we've had a man. All the first time back since 2021 NBA. champion. Check them out on all the smoke. Verde Maxwell was going on.
Starting point is 00:00:39 Hey, my brother, what's going on, Bermani, man? Thanks for having me on again. You know, every damn time you call for me and you ask for Vernon Maxwell, you know I'm coming, man. But like, we was talking about unless you want to wait. But we were talking about this before the show. Me and you just, you brought it up. Now, you really wanted the reasons how I blew up just to give you all that. I got to give it up where it came from. And your show, when you had me on the first time, this is the second time. But the first time is really how everybody got to know
Starting point is 00:01:15 how Mad Max really was and Lodgewan story and all that shit. So appreciate you, my brother. I had to say that to you, though. We wanted to say that to you. I appreciate you. And the funny part that I don't think we had talked about that part of how this happened was,
Starting point is 00:01:32 I had you do a cameo for my brother for his birthday. And I was like, oh, wait, Max out here? Okay. And so it was like during COVID and all this. I'm like, y'all, let's get Max on. Let's just see how this goes. Because we normally don't do a lot of interviews on here with people that are that, like, I don't really, really know.
Starting point is 00:01:49 You know what I mean? Right. And so that went so well, I was like, oh, man, now I look up. You all with Matt and Stephen. And I got to say, that's trouble. That's three times of trouble right there, which y'all are on the same squad. Yeah, there's my brother's right there. I love going out, being live with a man.
Starting point is 00:02:04 I mean, just, I mean, all over. I mean, it's just a great time. Every time we get on there together, man. Hey, boys, they let us be how we want to be. It's a wonderful time, man, with all the smoke. I'm going to ask you this one thing before we get into the NBA stuff, right? Is somebody going to do that pause thing? That's what the kids do these days.
Starting point is 00:02:21 But, dog, you'll be on the Internet looking like you still play basketball. Like, like, you now, what? How old are you now? Shit, I'm 69 with money. That's what I'm saying. How is this possible? Like, what is the workout regimen that you are engaging in? Man, I'm working out.
Starting point is 00:02:37 I work out all the time, man. I like, you know, I get up before everybody get up, get it done, do my sit-ups and my push-ups and weight room and then come back and get on the Peloton and ride the Peloton, you know, by five days after week and do all my abs and everything. I just keep myself, but I eat like shit, though, now. I eat every motherfuckin' fucking thing. Pride foods, all kind of shit.
Starting point is 00:03:01 I just had fried pork chops last night. I know people like pork chops. This nigga eating pork. Yeah, pork. Yeah, fried fucking pork chops last night between a piece of goddamn bread and hot sauce. That's right. So, yeah, I eat bad. So, well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:16 You do the women hate, right? Like, you're out here doing all of this. And there appears to be no evidence of any of them. Yes, man. No, I'm getting it in. I love, you know, eating where I can eat anything. And it don't shows. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:31 Well, yeah, tell me this, how are you enjoying doing the media stuff? Because I didn't get the feeling that you were a dude who saw himself or somebody who would wind up in media when it came down to it. I know, but mine, it got down, man. It was, I mean, it was just like my guy Cam, man. You know, Cam, he just kept pushing it. He kept saying, Max, man, you'll be good, man. You'll be good in that space.
Starting point is 00:03:54 You need to, like, you know, just give it a chance, give it a chance. And I was asking him shit at first, I was like, shit, well, how much that shit going to cost me? That's what I... That's what the fuck I'm asking. You know, I was asking, how much that shit got cost me? And he was like, Max, it ain't cost you nothing. Man, just let me give me a chance.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Let me reach out and try to get you a couple sponsors. So he did. And then when I did, when I did, it was Iverson. I was like, shit, I kind of like that shit. It was like kind of like a rush for me. And then now it doesn't like calm down for me, though. But now it was like a rush when I first started. And I was a little nerves and shit.
Starting point is 00:04:35 I had a little nerves and this and all this shit going on. But now I just, I love it, man, where I can interview and get interviewed. And, you know what I mean? Because, I mean, I got a space now where I can, I can say something. You know, and I enjoy that motherfucker being able to say what I want to say. And then I got a lot of people that want to hear what the fuck I got to say. And, you know, I mean, and that. And that, that, that, I'm, I'm happy about that too.
Starting point is 00:05:04 So, but that's, so that's, that's, you know, the real reason, though, of Omane, is because I got a space now. I can say what the fuck I want to say. And, and I got people wanting to hear what the fuck I got to say. Well, I want to ask you this, Star Wars, the NBA stuff. We've been talking a lot about the Jalen Brown trade and everything that went on around, like, what was going on there. My first question is, like, what do you think about him as a player?
Starting point is 00:05:29 Because he's the guy that there's the gap between what a lot of the numbers tell you and what a lot of the eyeballs tell you, which means to answer probably somewhere in the middle. But see, I'm not an analytics guy. See, I ain't in that shit. I know what I see. I don't know that motherfucker floor. But, Monty, that motherfucker is a killer. You hear me?
Starting point is 00:05:48 This motherfucker is a killer. I love this kid, man. I love everything about him. I mean, everything he represents. I mean, on and off the floor. I mean, man, got freedom. him speech, man, say what the fuck he won't. And he ain't did.
Starting point is 00:06:02 He ain't said nothing crazy. I mean, he's just really like a shit. Just like, I mean, I wish I would have did it more when I was playing shit. And for you to hear me say that, shit, say what the fuck I really wanted to say? And shit, basketball player, man, I just, he's one. He and my top five, you know, basketball player. Oh, you got a top five. Yeah, I got him top five.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Yeah, I love it, man. I mean, seeing what he did last year, the way he carried that team, man. And, I mean, he did, they did a lot of people disrespect him because of all, I mean, I guess the outside noise is outside, outside the basketball court. You know, when he gets to talk on that talk, because he's a very intelligent guy. You know what I mean, and that's what I love to see, you know, a very intelligent black man. I mean, really knows what the fuck he's talking about. and he's just not up here just talking. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:07:02 And then he can back it up, too, because I'm just saying he's just not up here talking. So that part right there. But I love everything about that kid, man. I mean, he's going to be well, man. He's going to do well over there in Philly, man. God damn. They just gave him that motherfucker away, man.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Good God. Well, so the thing that gives me about him, I'm curious what you think about this, because I feel like in public process, when we went through waves, like three years ago, always talk about how he couldn't dribble because he, that is not what he is best at, right?
Starting point is 00:07:33 We agree with that. He'll dribble his ass into trouble, and he kept dribbler's ass into trouble. And then the next year he wins, conference finals MVP. He wins finals MVP. 2025, I feel like we don't even really, Tatum tear at his Achilles
Starting point is 00:07:46 was such a big deal that it just kind of, it didn't even matter what the discussion was from there. And then this last year, at once he carried them to those 60 wins, and then they blew that series lead at 3-1 against Philadelphia. So for me, I can never exactly know how I feel about him except the thing I feel like is what he can do is get you 35 when you need it.
Starting point is 00:08:06 And that's an important thing to be able to do. And that's what the NBA is about right now. I mean, when you need a bucket, you need a motherfather just like that. To give him the rock and go getting one. And that's what the NBA is right now. I mean, shit. I mean, a lot of inconsistency going on in the damn NBA, too, not shit. I mean, I think we talk about analytics and shit, but I mean, it's, I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's different right now for me.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Yeah. You know what I mean? It's very different for me. Well, let me ask you this. Because I think there's one thing that I think is interesting in the numbers that people point out that it sounds like analytics, but it's pretty simple. It's just the idea that just by point scored the last few years, the Celtics have been better when he wasn't on the floor than when he was on the floor. do think that's interesting. I don't know how to tease all that out necessarily. But see, that's what I'm saying? You know what I mean? But I also feel like part of that is
Starting point is 00:09:03 Mazul will be having them other dudes play extra hard. So when it's a bunch of bench dudes in there and he's not in there, it's to go hard cats. And that matters a lot in the regular season. It don't matter as much in the playoffs. Right. Right. And I agree with that. But the coach, I love him, he's great coach. I mean, but I mean, that is a weird stat. Right. When they came on, I would have never thought that shit. If you had told me just saying that, that's what analytics say. And damn, that's wild for me.
Starting point is 00:09:33 I just, I don't understand it, but it seemed that way when I was watching the game. But shit, I thought they needed it on the motherfucker floor to beat the win. So they said, I guess they didn't. So that's why it was an easy damn decision for him to get rid of his ass. But I don't think that was a great decision. I mean, I mean, no disrespect to Paul George. Everybody's been disrespectful to Paul George.
Starting point is 00:09:58 But, I mean, PG, shit, keep doing what you're doing. Keep getting them goddamn checks. And, I mean, shit. I mean, I mean, keep hooping, man. I mean, but more power to you, brother. I mean, I like to see the brothers get this money and keep getting it, man. Shit, just like, I mean, so. But, nah, but Jaylon Brown, man, I love the guy, man.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Great ball player. great person off the floor. Here are my top five money, my top five. Well, I'm going to throw something else at you that may surprise you because I talked about this the last show we did where there are certain guys where the advanced numbers do not match up to what is like obvious
Starting point is 00:10:36 to us. Like Isaiah Thomas is an example of that in the past. Anthony Edwards is another guy where those numbers don't quite match up. Jason Tatum, for what is worth, is another guy that's like that. But a guy near and dear to your heart that may surprise you that is actually like this also is a key
Starting point is 00:10:52 Melajuan. You go look at a lot of the advanced numbers on the Kim Alajuan. Like, you put a Kim Il-A-Lajuan next to David Robinson with those numbers, and David Robinson destroys him every time, except we were there in 1995. And so none of us would agree with that assessment. Hell no. That's not. I don't know how that happened. I mean, I guess Drain was just bored and shit until he saw these motherfuckers. Well, Drey used to say that he was bored, right? Yeah, I'm just telling him, man. He was just bored, man, until he saw these motherfuckers.
Starting point is 00:11:24 And then they just bring out the best of this motherfucker. All of them, I can keep going down the line. He gave it all to every last one of them. I seen it. It was like, God damn, man. Now I think about it, man. I was taking that shit for granted. That motherfucker was killing some motherfuckers, man.
Starting point is 00:11:42 I mean, all the top motherfuckers. I mean, they know who they are. Shit. Shit. I'm trying to think about this with Drey. Can you think of anybody else where there's literally nobody else like that, like we saw Kobe do a reasonable Michael Jordan impression,
Starting point is 00:11:58 right? That's not, you know, and I'm not saying that it's an insult to either of those guys. No doubt. All these cats go down there and work out with Dream and Kate, none of them will come back looking like they even met Dream because the only person that could do that. And by the way, he wasn't even that tall. The only person who could do that shit was him.
Starting point is 00:12:14 Yeah, because Dream should have told them all the motherfuckers first. Hey, get a soccer ball first. And then I learned how to fuck with that soccer ball first didn't come down here and see. Because that's what the fuck he was doing before, you know, he was playing. You know, he was fucking with that soccer ball. It's all feet work. And that's all, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:30 so James should have told him that because, I mean, he was fucking with that soccer ball and that soccer ball. And I guess it evolves into basketball feet work with dream. And that's why he was being ready to turn like a goddamn ballerina and let that motherfucker fly falling out of bound. But I mean, so, I mean, that part right there. I just don't understand that part either because nobody that you said comes that motherfucker and do
Starting point is 00:12:55 or none of that shit he was doing. I mean, it's a motherfucker a bunch of money being waste because I mean, I wouldn't even, I mean, not no knock on dream, but shit, I wouldn't even go on out there and fuck the drink because I know I ain't going to be able to perfect to affect that shit, man, no motherfucking
Starting point is 00:13:12 no, no, no month and a half. You know, I ain't, you know, a month and shit, I ain't going to be able to perfect that. So I might as well even not waste of money. Yeah, they're hitting them with the shake. Because growing up, all these cats in Houston that had any size, it was a bunch of dudes in high school trying to do an Elijah wide impression. And if you can't do it as an actual professional,
Starting point is 00:13:35 can you imagine being a high school basketball coach you're trying to explain? Hey, man, I need you to just cut that shit out right fast. Let's go to this drop stuff. That's right. Yeah. None of the motherfucker. That's right. Motherfucker, hey, man, stop with all this shaking shit, man.
Starting point is 00:13:52 Just take it. Do the basic, man. learn how to do that shit first because all that's spinning and faking and shimmy shaking and all that shit, man, and then putting in between you and facing him and then snatching him. James said,
Starting point is 00:14:05 you know, he was good at that. He used to tell me, Maxie, I snatch him in midnight. Face it. Snatches that. Snatching,
Starting point is 00:14:15 snatch him. Snatch him. I mean, straight out snatching him off. Face him up. Bam. Well, that joy, where he would do it, where he would put the ball on the baseline.
Starting point is 00:14:24 And there's no way that he could ever go on. the baseline, but he was still, like, run over there with the cameraman, and he'd come back and hit you with the hook. I didn't know what he was doing. I thought he was going out of that motherfucker. He had to tiptoes. That motherfucker had to be tiptoes. That motherfucker would get all over the base.
Starting point is 00:14:36 You'd think the motherfucker out of bounds, won't you? But he comes right back the other way with that hook on your head. I said, good God, oh, my mind. Dream was amazing, man. That's why I tell everybody, man. I ain't played with nobody better than him, man. I'm telling him. I'm telling him.
Starting point is 00:14:51 I'm telling him. I understand. Well, let me ask you this. Because we didn't get into it too much when I talked about it before. with Jalen Brown, but him going to Philadelphia is interesting. But my question is, well, one, we don't know how much Embed is going to play. But how does the ball sharing work out with all three of those guys at air? Well, I'm sure they're going to figure that part out.
Starting point is 00:15:09 It's got to be figured. I mean, the motherfuckers, all the motherfuckers been playing for a little while. You know what I mean? Once they get out there on the floor, they're going to feel it and see, you know, Maxie got to stay being Maxie because he changed. His shit don't look strange. so he got to continue being himself. And then Jalen Brown's going to automatic know how to fit the fuck in.
Starting point is 00:15:32 You know, because this motherfucker just know how to play. Like I just said, he's in my top five. So he's just know how to play. So he's going to fit the fuck in. And so, uh, uh, Etchka, the young boy, you're going to have to, he's going to have to figure it out, you know what I mean? But you're going to have his little runs and shit where he get a look, where you have good games and stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:53 but you know, he got to take a couple of seats back. You know, it's a big dog in him, smother. You know, big J.B. Coming to him. So, you know, we respect what the young boy have done as a rookie. I mean, a lot of growth, you know, played well in the playoffs. So shit, we respect all that. But J.B. coming in there.
Starting point is 00:16:16 So we got to take a back seat to that. And then I'm just saying, MB. We don't know how many motherfuck ganges this motherfucker I'm playing. So, I mean, we don't know what this motherfucker doing right now. See what I'm saying? We don't know what this motherfucker doing, Monty. I don't know what this motherfucker doing. I mean, we got to, is he in the gym?
Starting point is 00:16:38 Is he rehabbing? Is he trying to get all that weight off him? I mean, so we know the basketball player when he's healthy. He's good. Monty, this motherfucker is good. He's one of the top bigs in the motherfucker league. Damn, what? is it going to be healthy?
Starting point is 00:16:54 That's the damn thing with him now. You know, that motherfucker was one of the top players. It was going to be the face of the fucking NBA at one point. This motherfucker just could stay hurt. I mean, come on. Dude, I forget that he plays for them because you just can't count on it. You know what I mean? Not like I don't actually forget, but it's not something that you can just bet on
Starting point is 00:17:12 when you make your decisions about what the six is going to do and try to come up with some assessment or what it's going to be at the end. It was a shock that he played as much as he did in the postseason when it happened. It was like, oh, that's right. He does it. He does, yeah, that's right. Yeah, that was. That is.
Starting point is 00:17:25 That's right. I felt like he kind of like takes away from, from Maxie when he plays because he has to have the ball and, you know, so much. And Maxi is, you know, a ball-dominant guy, too, you know. But he knows how to play off the ball, too. Maxi knows how to play. You know how to play. You know how to play. You can tell he was a well coach.
Starting point is 00:17:48 That motherfucker, he knows how to play off the ball, too. but yeah and big man he just we just don't know how many motherfucking games this motherfuck going to play if he can get health and he can play with these guys man at least them 85% of them goddamn games man i think they're tough they're gonna that's gonna be a tough team what you think about the celtics because they i don't think you can argue they it's even with the odd-off stuff it's hard to argue that you got better trait and jalen brown for year 17 paul george yeah i don't understand that one I don't know.
Starting point is 00:18:23 I mean, I think it's something that, the J.B., he russed some feathers or something when he started going on this, with this little podcast thing he was doing. And I think he said some shit to something about some people that they didn't like. And they just, and then, I mean, they was, I mean, the guy came on, Brad came on, Stevenson said,
Starting point is 00:18:50 you know, oh man, we got an open door policy and all this bullshit. You know the same time, bruff you're riding there trying to get rid of this motherfucker. You know what I mean, the same time you said that shit on the ESPN, you're getting rid of you trying to get rid of this motherfucker. And, but, I mean, for J.B., it's a great trade for him. I mean, now he can go and, like he said, he's free now. Shit, that's what the man said. I said, damn, how this motherfucker's saying he's free now?
Starting point is 00:19:16 You're going to fuck of you. I felt you a little like you was free over there. He said he's free now. I said, God damn. I got to see what he's talking about now because that motherfucker was a killer man. But man said he's free. But I just feel like that was crazy.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Hell, man, I just didn't understand it. I just felt like it's something that he said. I mean, it couldn't be about to play. I mean, but the thing like, and I think I don't like, though, my mind of this bullshit right him. You know, if you fuck with me, Jason Tatum,
Starting point is 00:19:47 nigga where you was through all this shit when all this shit was going and went in that motherfucker and sat down to motherfuckold hey let me tell you you motherfuckuck something now hey that's my goddamn guy now I don't know if I'm Batman
Starting point is 00:20:01 or Robin and he Ralph Robin and I'm Batman but god damn hey keep that motherfucker here you hear what I'm saying man all that shit man let me go talk to J.B but you all got to keep this motherfucker here I tell them to break to bring that shit down a little bit J.B
Starting point is 00:20:17 But y'all got to tell me, keep this motherfucker here. Well, that's the part I'm actually surprised hasn't come up a little bit more, is that if Jason Taylor, the Celtics had clearly decided that Jason Tatum is the one, even if he's coming off the Achilles chair. But he clearly did not jump in front of the bus on this one, right? There's no evidence to indicate, even if you don't think that Tatum got him out of there,
Starting point is 00:20:42 Tatum did not keep him there. And I think that there's a story in that part. Yeah, yeah, that's all I'm saying. saying right that part right there. That damn, Tatum, I mean, Tatum, I mean, like you said, the damn Achilles and all this coming back off of that. We don't know what kind of, what player are we getting.
Starting point is 00:21:00 You know what I mean? So, I mean, that's a tough motherfucking injury, but I mean, I just didn't understand this motherfucker. I just, I thought he should have did more to keep the kid around there with him. I mean, I felt like, I mean, either however you want to put it, Batman or Robin, whoever, whoever's who. But shit, Jacob Brown, he shouldn't.
Starting point is 00:21:19 And then, and then, I mean, I just, the way they did it and shit, all this shit, you know what I mean. But, I mean, like the kid, like, I mean, he said he's free, so I'm happy for the mother-up. He's free. What did you think about Yonah's going to Miami? I don't know what the fuck was going on with all that shit right there. Yonah's going to go out there on the beach. Yonah's going to the motherfucker on the beach. But it was going to go over that motherfucker or whatever.
Starting point is 00:21:46 They call that Star Island, a motherfucker place over there, one of the motherfuckers got the old house over there. Yon's been going to beach over these niggins and quit. I tell you this, though, people think they go on to the beach, now you're going to go play for the heat. One of my favorite details about the heat is that when they built that arena, and you can tell this is a great idea that the architect had, is that with the practice courts,
Starting point is 00:22:06 that there are windows with views of Biscayne Bay, because that arena is right there on the wall for people who don't know. Right there. And Pat Riley covered the windows all the way up, because it ain't no day at the beach, baby. We just, you coming to this motherfucker to grind. And Yon has seemed like the perfect personality fit.
Starting point is 00:22:22 And I feel like him and bam together is going to be a lot of defense to be played. But I still don't, I don't have the greatest idea about what it is after that. What are the guards at? They got rid of hero. I mean, who the point guard and shit? Mitchell.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Yeah. I mean, okay, I like Mitchell, you know, a guy come off the bench. You know, I mean, A dog, you know. No offense. I love Mitchell, but I mean, he, I mean, damn, nah.
Starting point is 00:22:50 I mean, who the shooting guard? I mean, what we got? Who we got? They got to fill his hose. This motherfucker got to fill his goddamn hose. I mean, I don't know what they got. Who they got coming off the bench. I don't know what the fuck they got.
Starting point is 00:23:07 Who they got on their team anymore? I feel bad for hero. We had talked about it. You know why I feel bad for hero. We talk about this a lot with normally with black players, where I call them they can't go back, right? Where they worked hard, they done everything they could because they couldn't go back to the crib, right?
Starting point is 00:23:26 They did too much to go back to the crib. Tyler Hero did too much to become the version of Tyler Hero. Yeah, yeah. Go back to no Wisconsin, man. He has no desire to go back to Wisconsin. He got to go to dinner and act like he used to act when he get around his parents. You know what I mean? Like he got to do all of that.
Starting point is 00:23:44 that with everything that he has become. Now he, he did not do all this to go back. I said when they were talking about trading him to Utah, I was like, shit, he'd have retired before he went back to Utah. He ain't trying to be there. He would hate being in Utah, boy, you would hate being in. Hell no, he ain't going to know Utah. Hell no.

Starting point is 00:28:57 Thanks to Raycon for sponsoring. All right, we are back with Vernon Baxwell. And we had just mentioned Utah. And I actually hadn't thought about this, but I wonder if young people understand this, that Danny Age has a basketball player. I mean, Danny Age played Major League Baseball. Danny Ains was an Allstate football player in high school.
Starting point is 00:29:14 But Danny Aege was a for real basketball player, but I hated him so much. Like, he was, the guys, like, there was hating the Celtics. There was a bunch of white dudes, and then it was hating Danny Ains just because he was Daddy A. Dan Ains was dirty motherfucker, man. I'm trying to tell you now.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Y'all be out here in that front office with all this bullshit. Datang's a dog, now. They better Google that motherfucker. He hit my man in the face with that damn basketball. or Ellie, we were going to tear his ass up. Oh, that's right. We were going to fuck him up.
Starting point is 00:29:43 We were going to kick his ass up after. We were going to fuck him up. But they lost the goddamn serious. We were going to get his motherfucker and we were going to ambush this motherfucker. I don't think we're going to have enough players to play in the motherfucker finals. In the first couple of games, we were going to tear his ass up. Man, we didn't like that. But, yeah, well, that ain't the dirty motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:30:05 Tell us the thing about the Rockets. Look it back on it. Y'all have four dudes that I look at, like you, Ellie, Akeem Elijah Warr and Otis Thorpe, that I'm like, I don't think you really want problems with any of these four gentlemen. Yes, yeah. But everybody said, everybody would be looking there with Big Shot Rob, like Big Shot Rob, I ain't going to do. Now, Rob, tell your ass up, Rob was a motherfucker fool, too.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Rob brought up. Rob through that towel in Daddy Age face that one time. Come on, man. Rob's okay. That's what I'm saying. They would stop like a light, Big Shot Rob. Rob ain't no motherfucker fighter either. now Rob, motherfuckers shit.
Starting point is 00:30:39 And Sam I am. You know, this motherfucker, you know, he's from Baltimore. Yeah. You know, this motherfucker, he's stay ready. He just stay ready. Robert Ory completely changed the course of his career for the better by throwing that towel in Danny Ains' face. Like, people don't, for people who don't know,
Starting point is 00:30:54 Orr got traded to the sons in the Charles Barkley trade. And Danny Aange was the coach. Robert Ory got mad at him one day and threw a towel in his face. And they traded him two days later to the Lakers. Yes, yes. And everything changed. That's what that was the best thing. He said, that's what he said.
Starting point is 00:31:11 I was, God damn, he was ready to do that. He planned to do that shit. He said, he said, this motherfucker was playing with him. Like he, like he was a toy. This motherfucker said, this motherfucker said, man, so I got tired of him. He said, man, so I got tired of that motherfucker straight in his face. And the motherfuckers got me straight up out of it to the lake. Because I said, God, damn, they gave you away, too, baby boy.
Starting point is 00:31:32 Yeah, shit, they gave you away. Yeah, that was a hell of a move right there about big shot. I'm trying to tell you, man, some of these motherfuckers, you've got to get the fuck of right from away from these motherfuckers, but they'll hold you down. What you think about LeBron and where this is going with him? Because this is my read. You tell me if I'm wrong, I don't think, I'm not the only
Starting point is 00:31:52 person to say this, but it's nice of the Lakers to let LeBron make it seem like he made this decision. It does not seem like he made this decision. It seems like the Lakers made this decision. And now it's where does he wind up going? Yeah. Well, the Lakers made this motherfucker make this decision. They gave Austin Rees all that got that money. And so it wasn't nothing. You know, but Brian, I guess he was going to play for the minimum anyway. I mean, I like he said.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Yeah, but not for them. Not for them. Not for them. You might have said not for them. Not for them. So that's when they did that move right there, that's what I'm saying. That's when his ass knew he was going to be in L.A. That's when he didn't change his residency back over there in Ohio.
Starting point is 00:32:34 But I think the players, where he should go is man. And somebody has said this, I think you dump the nuggets. It'd be good. I like dump the nuggets over there with Jokers. You ain't got to do all that motherfuck up with a hell on the ball. You got Jokers over that.
Starting point is 00:32:53 Hound that motherfucker looking for you, boy. Now, you're a Yolke's guy, right? Yes, you're fucking right. I am. Yes. Oh, day. Loan. Yes. Fucking killer.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Can't jump over the fucking stack of Bible. But this motherfucker is a killer. I love it. Hey man, let me tell you. Yolkits and LeBron, everybody's open all the time. Make them better. That's what I'm trying to say. Everybody's going to be better. That's my case in point. Everybody's going to be better. And both of these
Starting point is 00:33:24 motherfuckers are willing to pass. I mean, they're willing to both them. I mean, shit. I mean, they just want somebody to move and get the cut and get the fuck open. You know what I mean? And both of them's, I mean, IQs are out of the roof. So, I mean, what are we talking about?
Starting point is 00:33:41 Man, you playing with both of these motherfuckers? Well, I see people entertain the idea of him in Minnesota. And I am intrigued by the Ant-Man Lamello ball backcourt. I'm not the biggest Lamello fan, but I also think that Anthony Edwards is by far the best player that he will have ever played with, right? And that's a couple of big dudes in your back court. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:03 Oh, yeah. I wanted to see how that shit going to end up like that, them two. But I know it's going to end up well because, you know, and such a real motherfucker. You know what I mean? And, you know, I mean. So, and Mello, you know what I mean? He's a cowly guy.
Starting point is 00:34:18 He's a real motherfucker too. You know what I mean? Mellow going to be mellow, mellow. You know what I mean? He's going to, I mean, I think he had a exceptional year last year, man. Muckoldfogger, he showed. I ain't think he was that good until shit. Ah, shit.
Starting point is 00:34:34 I see me. Oh, really? Yeah, yeah. I thought he was okay. I hadn't seen that shit what I saw last year. Now, you live in Charlotte, right? Yeah, I live in Charlotte, yeah. I saw this motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:34:45 This motherfucker. I like his, that motherfucker play. I don't know where he gets that damn jump shot from with that one leg up in there with the kickstand shit with the leg up in the air. I don't know where he got that. He don't perfected that shit. But that shit, that shit be. That shit, he shoots that shit deep. I mean, this motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:35:02 He got handles. He got vision. Man, shit. Hey, go ahead, Mello, do your thing. You got a lot of motherfuckers mad at these motherfuckers around here and shout out of horns from all this. She's motherfuckers mad, boy. They ain't want you to be out of here, man.
Starting point is 00:35:18 But, yeah, man, good luck, Mello, man. That motherfucker, he's different. I like this guy, too. Shit. Well, tell me this. If LeBron were to wind up in Cleveland, how much better you think that that makes them? Because my feeling has always been,
Starting point is 00:35:32 Cleveland's issue is Evan Mowbly and Jared Allen are both really good, but I don't feel like you can play them together because they're both tall, but they're not big, right? Like, it doesn't feel like LeBron answers the questions they have. On top of the fact that if you got James Hardin, you're going to lose the last game of the year, and he's going to play terrible.
Starting point is 00:35:49 Man, you've got two big motherfuckers die in there, Evan Moble and or Jared, man. The motherfuckler are they don't even talk. I mean, these motherfuckers die now. They don't even... You got us to be able to say something. No, my father's going to open a goddamn mouth. I mean, so, I mean,
Starting point is 00:36:04 one of the motherfuckers got to go. But I just, I mean, Donald Mitchell, man, I mean, shit, I mean, I like it, man. Hardin. I mean, I just, I don't think if Brian go, that ain't on, they're going to do the same shit,
Starting point is 00:36:22 probably what they did this year. You know, they ain't on, hang on. I don't think, Brian need to go somewhere where he know he's going to be in the thicker things next year. When the motherfucker rubble, get ready to hit the road, when, when, got there, the Western Conference Finals or, I think,
Starting point is 00:36:40 or the Eastern Conference Finals. He need to be on a team like that. So, you know what I mean? I mean, he says, it ain't about the money now, since he ain't in L.A. now, so it ain't about the money no more. So he's going to take, I want to see if this motherfucker going to take the minimum. I don't think he is.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Ron ain't. Got him to get Brian 15 million dollars. I was a shit. You better get your motherfuckold. Some of the motherfuckers would better take some pay cuts. you ain't been to gill of ron on 15 motherfucked a million dollars fuck that
Starting point is 00:37:09 you ever think you would live long enough but we would talk about 15 million dollars as an insult to anybody I know that's what I'm trying to tell you what the god of months when I was talking about that this weekend this is crazy the goddamn
Starting point is 00:37:21 no right I mean I'm talking about these boys make so much money 50 million shit and then off the court with the sneakers and shit goddamn like god damn that's what they're doing that hey do you remember that time
Starting point is 00:37:33 that for a brief moment John Hot Rod Williams is the highest paid player in the NBA. Yes, for people who don't know, John Howard Williams, just like Steve Harvey, he got a deal at the right time for $3 million a year. Yeah, we made. But that was the way. These cats are making $3 million a year. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:49 Yeah, we thought that motherfucker was richest motherfucker in America. That motherfucker making $3 million a year. God damn. I say, God damn that motherfucker, they don't pay you this motherfucker. But boy, now, good. That's crazy, man. This shit is, I love it, though, man. This kids, man, I mean, I mean, shit, more power to them, man.
Starting point is 00:38:08 We paid away for these motherfuckers. I mean, I'm happy for them, man. God damn, get that bread, man. And stack to take care your mom and dad. Yeah, shit, damn. Get that, man. No doubt. I love it.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Well, I tell you, we hadn't talked to you in a while so we could bring this back here. What did you think about the Spurs and the Knicks in the finals? Oh, my goodness. The Spurs, dumb ass, man. That motherfucker's so goddamn dumb, man. That motherfucker got you with that goddamn serious, man. lost me a goddamn bunch of money too. But the motherfuckers, they got to have, man,
Starting point is 00:38:38 the motherfuckers ganged them was a goddamn serious, man. The motherfuckers, every game they lost, man. They're supposed to win them. Man, what the fuck, man? This shit was crazy. But I'd never see no dumb shit like that ever with my life, man. I mean, but, man, I mean, I realize. I ain't going to say nothing.
Starting point is 00:38:54 Damn, man, man, come on. Fox, man, you got to do better, man. I know your daddy, man. I mean, I'm a, I'm a, I'm a, I'm gonna leave it like that. I know your daddy. And I ain't gonna say nothing. I'm not gonna say me.
Starting point is 00:39:11 But I figure you gotta love Brunson, huh? Oh my God. Yeah, like my man say, my man, Big Perk called it. Big Body Brunson. Yeah, I love that motherfucker. Yeah, his daddy taught him how to play off the two feet. All that feet works shit.
Starting point is 00:39:26 Now, that's the daddy. That's my nigga. He taught him that. That's his daddy. Well, I ain't, I ain't, not, shit, now I ain't, we ain't put the nigga in the category with big body. But his daddy used to play like that, you know, off a two feet like that.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Back in the day, I was wondering, why this nigga stopping in the lane like that with two feet? And I ain't just exploding up with one leg, off one leg and shit. This nigga playing off two feet. And I said, God damn, but I mean, he was crafted with it, though. And that's the way he taught his son. But, I mean, shit. Brunson, man. I mean, I don't think he's the fastest guy in the league
Starting point is 00:40:06 and he don't jump, the highs. I mean, but motherfucker mentally, man, he's a motherfucker killer. This is where I be saying, this is the time when I be saying this should be, it be your mental over athletic. You know, it would be your mental stage now, motherfucker. That's what this motherfucker, he mentally driven strong.
Starting point is 00:40:28 This motherfucker just don't want to do you. you can see that shit the goddamn finals that motherfucker willed away he all the way the way shit I said Jalen boy you did a great job boy god damn what that I mean that motherfucker is a killer man I just I just I can't say enough about it man I mean I just didn't see all that shit I ain't I ain't see that uh when he was coming from uh Dallas I just didn't see it uh the goddamn me I understand it now I understand this shit now. Shit.
Starting point is 00:41:04 It's crazy. You mentioned Fox with the Spurs. Are they going to have to do the uncomfortable thing and just wind up putting him on the bench at some point because Harper's just going to take it from him? Yeah, I mean, I don't know if I would just try to, like, I mean, pop some side, man, shit. I just have to get rid of, you know, I would get, but, I mean, I don't know if it's able or are they able to because I think he made.
Starting point is 00:41:31 make a lot of money, man. I think he'd make a lot of goddamn money. Somebody, if I might be mistaken, somebody said, this motherfucker had made over half a big dollars since he's been in the NBA. I'm like, God damn, he'll made all that motherfuck of money like that. So, but I think Spurs got to cut ties with him, man, because, I mean, what happened, man?
Starting point is 00:41:53 And then after that, man, then, I mean, just trying to go and make the shot, that was, first of all that was, I mean, you used to use a point guard, all your life. And you posted, the extension of the fuck coach. I mean, you kind of know you can't go in there
Starting point is 00:42:09 running this motherfucker clock on that. Even if you dribbled it all around through. But that was just, it was just crazy. But, I mean, then after that, he just was no more good. But, I mean,
Starting point is 00:42:20 I mean, for him, for his sake, I want to get the fuck out of that too. You know what I mean? Because I feel like I'm looking at my, so.
Starting point is 00:42:30 These motherfuckers, man, this are the motherfuckers looking at. I mean, I just wouldn't feel comfortable over that motherfucker because I know you got to understand. Everybody talking about that kid. You know, all outside the damn, all inside in the front office. I mean, shit, they got to goddamn get,
Starting point is 00:42:47 I just get rid of it. I get that motherfucker out of there. And it's Harper. It's Dylan Harper time now. That motherfucker is a killer. I mean, Ron Harper's. I see Ron over that, smile like a motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:43:01 My motherfucker boy. Kill them, chill them, nigga. I know, but I know half-over, I know my guy. That's my guy, man. I know he's always happy. Yeah, done well with his sons, too. Yeah, both of them, yeah. So, I tell you, his last, last thing
Starting point is 00:43:20 before we get out of here, is this about to be Victor Winbegnamas League to start next year? Yeah. He mad as fuck right now to summer. See, now that's one of, That's a motherfucker right there, man. You're talking about getting better from the next year to the next year.
Starting point is 00:43:35 You see what he did from his rookie to this second year. Now, watch this jump this motherfucker going to do now. He's so angry because, you know, this motherfucker now, he hate to lose. Now, this motherfucker, yeah. He really hate to lose.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Man, he's going to come back. He's been to go to them damn, what that damn boo-o shit, that Buddhist, the monks and all that shit. He's going to go over there with them damn people. And he's going to go over there and he won't come out of that motherfucker. And he's going to be so strong. And watch how this motherfucker be, man.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Because he know he got to get stronger and he got to get, he, he knows what he got to do. Because he doesn't have been all the way where he needs to go now. He doesn't seen it all to the top where you got to. This is what you need to do. And he understands. And really, because that's a smart motherfucker. He understands what he need to do for himself to be the best. And he's going to be the face of the motherfucker's NBA.
Starting point is 00:44:26 These motherfuckers are better getting ready. The Frenchman. Is that, is that why I can call him, you can do that. You can do that. Okay, yeah, the Frenchman, and they take over this one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:37 Now, do you think they need to go get him some muscle, though? Yeah, he gotta get, he gotta get stronger. Just like, just like Giannis got stronger. You know what I mean? Yonis was skinny and shit like that, you know, but he got, you know, he gotta put on something. He got to get stronger. His shoulders got to get stronger.
Starting point is 00:44:55 So, yeah, he got to. No, but I mean somebody else to do the muslin. Like, he shouldn't have. had to be able to be able to say, but still, his ass still got to get strong, though, because he got to be able to get down to the spot where, like, when we need a bucket, your ass is seven-four. I don't want you out here, out here at the three-point line motherfucker motherfucker where you got a six-four motherfucker out here, six-six-month-a-haired.
Starting point is 00:45:18 That's what they used to do, sliding their motherfucking feet. Yeah, the motherfucker's going to stay in front of you and make it tough for you. That's why we got to do all this dumb shit. Let's go back to like, like, uh, like A, B, B, C, D, EFG. The shit can be easy. Walk this motherfucker down to the block, man. Turn your big ass around now.
Starting point is 00:45:36 Post this motherfucker up and don't hit this motherfucker with one of the moves. You ain't got to do nothing. Just don't phone this motherfucker. Now they got to, I mean, he's got to be stronger, man. Well, he can't just be. He's playing to these motherfuckling little guards to what they're good at doing. I mean, this motherfucker used to sliding their feet out there. That's what they got.
Starting point is 00:45:56 Six, six, six, six, five motherfuckers garden them out there. But I mean, who? Like, this motherfucker is seven. What? And why in the fuck he? Way out there? Instead of getting that on that block and just throwing that bitch up there to him and let him just go ahead and dropping that bitch in that?
Starting point is 00:46:10 I just don't understand what's going on, man. I mean, but that goddamn coach for San Antonio, too. They got to go. I love black men coaching. God damn that boy, there's some dumb shit in that goddamn finals. You hear me? That, and that is not being talked about. Now, shit.
Starting point is 00:46:28 Now, that's the real. That's why I want to say. They ain't talking about anybody talking about him. But that, he got to be held accountable for that shit he's done too, man. Because you got to make a, you got to change that motherfucker line up, man. Get that goddamn boy hop in there, man. You know that man, that man, I'm froze up, man. That man, after he, motherfucker went in there and tried to make that goddamn shot
Starting point is 00:46:51 and the man blocked the shit, man. And then he was done after that, man. Put that man in the goddamn line up. you're going to come back and start this man back again. And this man, running shit for him, right out the gate, running shit for him. And he's going to come out and just want the crowd to get behind. Man, that man was done, man. Joe ass, man.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Joe ass out of that, too. I don't know what was his damn name? Mitch Johnson. They ain't this, though. They wouldn't have got Billy Donovan to be the lead assistant, which to me is he's the lead assistant and the prospective interim coach. That's it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:47:25 That's it. because that shit he did, boy, that was crazy too. Man, you got to make that decision, man. I mean, it's not even a tough motherfucking decision. If all those motherfuckers out here, without goddamn doing what I'm doing sitting on the couch and looking at this shit and saying, well, damn, is he going to start this boy hit this game
Starting point is 00:47:46 or he going to start Fox? This motherfucker came back with Fox. I said, oh, this motherfucker can't coach. Fox was done. He was motherfucker done, my mom. after he motherfucker got that shit blocked and fucked up that game. And then shit he said after the game, that shit was fucked up. I was like, oh man, well, you know, we're gonna come back.
Starting point is 00:48:07 We're gonna learn from it. I said, what the fuck this boy just said? I say, man, this is, boy, these boys, man. Say, a motherfucker, somebody back would have got dirty in that motherfucker. You can't be in there taking that shit for granted like that, man. You know how hard it is to get back to that. that motherfucker, man. You got to be.
Starting point is 00:48:31 You got to say, say something, man. Say something, man. God damn. I mean, come on, man. This shit, these kids these days, man, they got to, they don't understand, man. You might not never get back that motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:48:47 I'm just telling us, it's be hard, man. Get to that finals. NBA finals? Shit. All right. Keep taking that shit for granted. It's going to be hard. But I'm just saying, man, it's hard.
Starting point is 00:48:58 Amen. and Maxwell. I see you got all the Florida gear back. I'm glad you in the university got everything back right. Oh, yeah. The motherfuckers, they did the right thing. Hey, shout out to the Gator. Hey, baby, Gator. Hey, back there. They put me back in there. But, hey, like I said, it all
Starting point is 00:49:13 started where you were with you. Hey, man, I'm glad I can help. And like, my brother's favorite moment, my brother's favorite moment you in Florida. All right talks about that time, you buzzed Alec Hessel in the face and they ran off the court like they was going to think somebody was going to take you out. Yes.
