We got a lot to talk about there, a lot in the rest of the world. We did look, we start with San Antonio because, okay, the San Antonio Spurs in the era of Tim Duncan, they won championships, well, 09, 0,03, 05, 07, and 2014. and I know 99, but you get the jest. Yeah, yeah, yeah, my bad. Did I say, oh, nine?

Okay, whatever, man. Look, yeah, we're there. We're there. Thank you, thank you, because I sure did miss it. And other people would have to. Yeah. But anyway, 99-03, 05, 07, 2014,

and, right, how many people you know what that became Spurs fans as a result? I know one. I'd have, it would be maybe one. The one non-San Antonio affiliated Spurs fan that I know is my man Rodney, and it's because I think either his dad was a Lakers fan

or he just wanted to be spiteful to the Lakers fans because it was cracking at the time and he was young. Maybe it's some of y'all where I imagine the Spurs were really good on the game. Right. You know what I'm saying? Like that's one way to kids decide what teams they're going to get into these days is on the game. But if you, who wants to play on the video game with Tim Duncan?

Yeah, but I mean, I bet he was a, I mean, defensive force. Yeah. Utah to only one where it was like, man, anybody doing this shit. Not even on NBA jail. Right. Where all you had was two people. Right. Which is all we thought the jazz had anyway.

I ain't doing that. You know, out of your mind. But anyway, the Spurs were an uninteresting bunch who didn't do anything to be interesting, right? Who ran away from even doing their part to help promote the league. Oh, we're going to be on Thursday night basketball. How about we don't play any of our guys, right? Your best player has no interest in talking to. anybody in the media ever.

The rest of your players ain't from America. You know, we was a little slow on the uptake at that. But at the same time, maybe they crawl in order to so that these spurs could run because they are so much fun and they are at once. Old school, new school. They are everything that my old ass really wants a basketball team to be, which is they care a lot. Like the part that was abundantly clear in.

watching this is they care a lot. And I don't want to try to imply that other teams don't care, right? I think that that's something that goes a little bit too, that we get a little bit too far in. I mean, the Knicks definitely looked like they were out there playing like guys who cared. But Spurs, Victor seems to care in a much different way. And maybe this one story is doing too much work in the legend of Victor win by Yama. But the fact that he went and kicked it with the monks, Ryan, like he really spent time in there. the hill of the basketball. Yeah.

That's, I mean, I got to say, that implies a level of caring that I don't see from his peers. Right. And look, maybe somebody else going to hang out with mugs. Honestly, I don't know what else one of them could do to make me think

that it was the same as working out. He went to hung out with the mugs and when it gave Akima Lajuan some money. Right. Right? Right. He cared enough to set money on fire. Right?

He's like, hey, I hear that people come down here and give you money to not play like you. I'd like to do that now. Okay. Put it up. We will now work on your lateral movement. But man, that game seven, I want to ask you this, right?

Because I'm, I found myself raising this question about the series itself, right? Game one was great. Right. Game seven was great. Five blowouts, for the most part, in between. Right. But I still felt

like it was a very good series. Even if not every game was good, I felt like as a series, it was still very good. Maybe it's just also because it had a push and pull, so we had a rhythm, right? So what San Antonio won the first game, Oklahoma City won the next two. San Antonio wins game four, then it's game five, game six, game seven, right? But I felt like I never, I felt like after game one, I thought I had a handle on things. After game two, I did not. After game three, I thought I had a handle.

And I thought San Antonio just couldn't do it. After game five, I really thought San Antonio couldn't do it because they looked so exhausted. Right? Like, I think what this series helped me understand is when discussing the idea of experience in the playoffs, the biggest part of it is you just can't apparently explain to people how much more energy playoff basketball requires than the rest of the games. I know you have not done this, but there are a lot of people who are listening, who will understand what I'm talking about right here, okay?

If you've ever gone to graduate school and done a PhD program, all right, people are going to tell you how hard it is. And you're going to say, how hard could it really be? It's just school, right? You've been going to school the whole time. They told you college was going to be really hard,

but college wasn't really hard. They're like, yeah, this is going to be really hard. Even if you've done like a master's program, which is harder than college, right? Like, how hard could this really be? And you're reading like two, three books a week in a course, right? Like, you got to read a couple of books a week in a course, right? And we're not talking about DeCat and the hatch. We're not talking about green eggs and ham. This shit is not fun at all. The words is like this little on the page and their biggest fuck and you're supposed to remember them. supposed to take notes. It's like all these things. And everybody told you on the front end,

it's not the same. It's just not the same. Well, how much different can it be? Game five, I looked at him and the rest of those guys. And I was like, oh, that's how much different. Right. It can be. And I thought they were cooked. I didn't think there was any way possible that they could get themselves back into it. And they did. And they demonstrated like a measure of will in game seven. Because you know Oklahoma City is tired as hell thin. Two, they just had more experience with the feeling. They had the opportunities to figure out what you have to do when you get to that place. Or Victor said after one game in the playoffs, I think it was against Minnesota where he's like, I got to figure out how to distribute my energy. Right. That experience thing

matters. They just overcame it because they got a dude on the team that's eight feet tall. I know I keep saying that over and over again, but he's eight feet tall. And when you're eight feet tall, you do things, like when he dunked on Chet with two hands, and he doesn't even have to jump. He just moves from spots on the court that looks like it's like a laggy internet or video games clishing. It's Nerf whoop. Me and my brother over here watching this. He's like, he's just on the Nerf hoop. Yeah. Right? Like, where you're on the Nerf hoop and you stick your arm, it's like, oh, let me flick these pair of socks into the hamper. Right. Right. That's, it's all this is at every turn, surrounded by dudes that go hard, right? Castle goes hard.

Vassel goes hard. Luke Cornyett with that block he had on Hartinstein. Why don't like crime? He went with the confidence that implies that he doesn't know. He doesn't know. He doesn't know.

But he was like, I can block his shot. Yeah. Like, do I think that he would have tried that with even Stephine Castle? That's his old team. Sorry. Do I think that he would have tried that with Jalen Williams?

Army Dad. Jaylon Williams. No chance. Nope, nope. He saw Hartinstein and he would do that. And by the way, I would like to take a moment right fast because I know there's some people that get a little uncomfortable

when I say that Jayne Williams looked like his daddy was in the service, right? But you need to understand what I'm saying. It's not as broad as you believe it's a bit more narrow, okay? I'm not simply saying that because he a belatian that he looked like his daddy in the service. No, sir.

Jailor Harper is a belation Jerry McCain is a belation but they don't look like their daddies was in the service right but you don't see it with them Jalen Williams

his daddy granddaddy somebody was over there fucking with Charlie right like I don't know it's a solid distinction I don't understand where the line is

but you see it you hear it you feel it you understand it and it's inoffensive just kind of what it is right Anyway, Luke Cornet went up and got that shot from Hartnstein.

And I don't know, I felt like at that moment, that's what it was like, oh, Victor inspires them all the way to the end of the bench. Like the level of everything from the end of the bench with the old guys and everybody else, they seem to be really, really enjoyed it. They have the same camaraderie that the Thunder seemed to have, but they don't seem to got no dorks over there. Now I noticed some of y'all are going to say that about Luke Cornyette because he messed up your little strip club night at the arena like that wasn't the dumbest idea of all time. But I'll feel like it's a heavy dork and I ain't going to lie. They do have a plumbly.

Yeah, but he's even not quite dork like you might expect. Well, he did have an Albert Einstein poster on the wall when he was in college. But if I'm not mistaken, he was getting his haircut at the place with disease. Got it. Yeah, yeah, and he 35. Look, you remember when Victor sent them boys in there at game five? I don't know how I missed it.

He said the boys in there at game five, and they started, and they gooned it up, him and busy went out there. He took his advice. He's not his own goon. Yeah, he elbowed Jeremy, he elbowed Jeremy Cade in the back. I was like, okay, he did go to Duke. That is, that's the sort of behavior that they might engage in. But, Ryan, you and I talked about this before we got out here. That wasn't even like a great Victor game.

the most impressive thing to me that Victor did was after he got that fifth foul and I don't know how that happened. Me and my brother heard somebody say something about five fouls and I was like, well, maybe the next one's five. No, he had five fouls with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter. And I was like, hey, I'd get it. I would have got him out of there because they were still playing pretty well

without him in there. Right. And it was so funny because it was after I'd given my brother this long diatribe. And I believe this, that NBA teams, that there is, one of the last places that's left where I think that, like, conventional wisdom does a disservice and that there's gains to be had for teams is the way that they react to foul trouble. So somebody gets into foul trouble. And so in order for them to not have to come out of the game, you take them out of the game.

You see what I'm saying? Right. Like, you are effectively doing what you wish to prevent from happening very often. Right. And then right after that, Victor got five foul. and I'm like, ooh, you might want to get that guy out. Yeah. I was like, ooh.

You know, but then also when they got him out of there, the Spurs were still, like, I felt like they were still stretching it out a little bit. So it was like, okay, you might have been okay. They left him in there, and what he started doing was so funny. He was challenging shots, but he wasn't jumping and he wasn't putting his arms up. He would just run over like he was about to and then fake up. And their dudes was shook.

They was like, oh, shit, let me get the ball to somebody else. Like the mere idea of him. Again, he doesn't have to jump in order to effectively play basketball. Does anybody compile jump ball stats? How does he ever lose? I don't think I've ever seen him lose one. The wild thing to me is watching him contest a corner three when he's running out there. Like he looks like, like he was the guy that's got those wide arms.

He jumped so high. And like, that's the only time you really see him in all that space. You really kind of visualize how big he is. I'm trying. Who was it that I've already forgotten because he's been debil me? promoted. But I forget who it is that I used to compare to Jason. We're like, you always think you okay. The next thing you know, damn, how did Jason get here? Yeah. I just left you all the way back there. Now I turned

11. Jason just pulled up. Jason, he everywhere. He everywhere, dog. Everywhere you go, you can't. This dude is 15 feet away from you. He's throwing his hands up in the air. And you're like, shit, man, I got to put a little bit more arc in this. Like, I love that Isaiah Hartstab is shooting that ugly push shot all this time, apparently simply in preparation. for this day of what to do with this guy, right? This guy and the other merry band of dudes who can't rent cars. Right. Like, let's get a look at this.

Okay, and this is, you know, maybe we get a little ahead of ourselves looking toward the future or whatever. I hear you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Let's get a look at all the guys on this team. Dylan Harper, he is 20. Carter Bryant, he is 20.

Stefan Castle is 21. Victor Wimbanyama is 22. Sham Pipple is a robust 24. Devin Vassell is 26. Keldon Johnson is the old man at 26. No, I'm not by Deeran Fox is the old man at 27. then Luke Cornyett at 30 and Biz Mike Beambo and Harrison Barnes

Well Harrison Barnes just turned 34 Happy Birthday and Biz at 33 And then the old white dudes Kelly Olenny He's old, he's old, he's 35, he's old, Nase of Plumley He's old, he's 36 Yeah But all the guys that play are like 22

It's insane Yeah And they don't see scare. Right. They don't scare. Like, I think, I think I have adjusted my understanding and my concept of what matters, right? About the experience part, I really think it's just adjusting to how hard it is.

Like, you know, people talk about the rookie wall. Right. And the NBA, and we see the guys have to push through it. I think that's maybe the biggest thing that comes up in this is that is a wall. Like, oh, my God, I am tired. Yeah. And in the conference finals, you're playing every other night literally at that point. point. The finals are not going to have that. You're going to get, like, I think between

games four and seven, they're two nights off. Right. Between all of those, right? It's going to be there. But the end, they're about to be at, it's going to be, gets the next, like Madison Square Garden for game three. Yeah. Ooh, this was, this was fun. Like Saturday night was a great time. And I feel like they're making Spurs fans. Like, I was shocked how many people were watching this. maybe it's because people also just ain't really feeling this thunder shit no more. But I was surprised by how many people I saw that were watching this. And now they're like, oh, I'm with this, right? The whole thing was nobody roots for Goliath.

That was Will Chamberlain's thing about, you know, nobody roots for the Goliath. I don't, somehow, maybe it's just because he's skinny. I don't feel like that's the case with Victor. We was rooting against the blue devils. We was rooting against jankiness. Right. Right?

We was rooting against that bullshit. But dude, feet tall? More, please. All right, now, uh, we got the thunder. I want to say this about the thunder right fast. I think that we have somehow managed to undersell just how good the thunder are. How good are the thunder? They are without their number two score and the guy that's going to make him expendable because he's reasonably similar but cheaper. He also wasn't playing. This series still went to seven games and they still had a chance to win it. This was not a game that they had no opportunity to get. The spurs came out. They weathered the storm. They played tough through the

four quarter. All of these things being down guys and they still could have won the game. So I understand where people like, oh, Antonio is going to be doing this for a long time. Well, that's the same thing you said about Oklahoma City last year. Yeah, look what they just did. Right. With a depleted roster, everything else, look what they just did. They got into the fourth quarter. Look, Shee, this postseason with Shea is weird because this postseason with Shea has involved him, honestly, being better than people would like to admit in a lot of ways, but also they were outscored with him on the floor and were a positive point differential with him off the floor. I don't know what to make of that.

In game seven, they were a minus seven in his 43 minutes, though it's worth noting. a lot of his 43 minutes are going to be the minutes with Victor on the floor, right? Like it's going to be a thing. But he played like you want your MVP to play in a game seven. And unlike previous games, it's one thing to try to draw fouls. It's another thing to try to get calls. And what he tries to do is get calls. He did not do that in game seven.

And I think that people who watch that observe the difference in, treated it with a much with a greater respect than they had treated the other things that he had done. People will always like an awesome mid-range score. Yeah, yeah, yeah, man. It is fun watching dudes cook. Like, that's the thing that this NBA doesn't really give you anymore is dudes who cook in the mid-range. We like watching dudes cook in the mid-range. He does that.

And look, it was a big game and he came up big in the big game in a game where nobody else on the team showed up other than sir, yes, sir. Nobody else showed up, right? He came out there and he did everything he could. And he didn't get it done, right? Like, I don't think, I think that he could have played better in this postseason, certainly. But I don't feel like, I don't feel like we saw anything that should put you in a position where you reevaluate what you think of him as a player.

He's like, look, it's me and Kaysen Wallace out here trying to get this done, right? That's tough. it's just the Chet of it all. And look, anybody that's following me for a while, anybody that's, you know, listen to this show, watch this show for a while, you guys know how I feel about Chet, right? I think Chet is an excellent player.

I think Chet is going to go to the Hall of Fame. I think Chet had an excellent year this year. I just cannot think of an example I'm trying to think of it in music. I can't... Okay. Here's what has happened to chat. Imagine what it would have been like if Shine had come out, right? And Shine had dropped. And he was like, yo, man, you got to hear this dude. Shine, man. Shine's so dope. And he was, you know, he's going to be next. He's going to be next. Do you remember Shine dropped?

Everybody thought Shy was going to be next. Shine was going to be next. but what if instead of shine coming after Biggie? What if Biggie came out after Shine? And it's like, damn, he's just like Shine, except he's better at everything that Shine does, every single bit. That's what happened to Chet. Victor showed up in everything that we thought

Chet could give you. Chet is 7 foot 1. Check can face the basket and get buckets. Chet can make threes. Chet was the runner-up and defensive player of the year this year, right? We don't feel like Chet does anything better than Victor in a way that match.

We just don't. His whole existence, his whole gimmick, everything that made him special is not just usurped by this guy, Victor, but he hates you. Like, for the longest time, we would talk about this and we would say, well, you know those two guys don't like him,

like each other. I got to be honest with you, man. No more I think about it, I haven't seen any evidence that Chet doesn't like Victor. I haven't seen any of that at all. Victor doesn't like him, right? Man, one of my friends, you made the point that Chet's at the point or just wanted to get the microphone to be like, I swear, I wouldn't even thinking about you when I did that. Right?

Like the origin story is strictly they played a game against each other and Victor filed out and Chet won the MVP. That's it. that's all I did. Why are you so mad at me? Right? I don't know if you guys heard the story that after one of these games

Victor was in the tunnel and Chet's mama came up to him and was like, hey, I'm Chet's mom and Victor was like, I know. Yo! To his old earth? Damn! And so Chet...

I've heard people make the argument that the Thunder are going to need to trade Chet. That's not going to happen. They just don't make players of that particular. archetype and skill set that often. Put it to you like this.

Presti, with the option of keeping James Hardin or Sergei Baca, took the shot blocker who could shoot like long-range jumpers. If it comes down to Jaylon Williams or Chet, I think they're going to keep Chet. They make a lot less than those. Yeah, they just think, I mean, AJ Mitchell apparently is another J.L. Williams, right?

They're going to keep Chet. The problem they have is this. he is bad for business as long as San Antonio is going to be their rival. Right. Like he brings something out of Victor that ultimately renders himself useless, right? Somebody sent this tweet to me, I got to find it. Here's again, my man said this. I thought this is excellent.

He says, it's really wild that Victor becomes visibly powered up when Chet even looks like he's about to do anything at all. It's really like a video game. It's really like a video game buff. Like you can somehow see it and Chet sees it too. You see the joy on Victor's face when he dunks on him with two hands. Oh, man. When he would miss free throws and he claps in all of this.

Like Chet's problem is that the other guy hates him. And that's the best argument for having to trade him. He makes Victor better, but in the worst way. And look, Chet did not, on one level, Chad did not play as badly as I think advertised in that game. Because I think he played well on defense. The plus minus numbers with him on the floor are actually pretty good. He just became terrified of shooting. Reggie Miller was on his neck, that whole broadcast, just firing him up because he got scared.

Visibly scared. Yeah, he's 25 years old. He hasn't done this that often, right? He was, and look, we saw Jordan do this to guys, right? Like, he just, he, he's in his head in a much different way than one would have expected from a player of, let me check home his third team all NBA this year. Right? But he was in his head.

Did you see the video, Jason Williams, looking like he was staying at the Super 8? Did you see that? Yes. Yeah, so Jason Williams, West Virginia, Jason Williams. Yeah, you know, I feel like he has some experience. in the Super 8. Yeah. Yeah.

I was just, because apparently he was in Oklahoma City, because I'm looking at Jason Williams, like, everything indicates that you took care of your money. There had to be a better hotel room that you could get somewhere. Even if you had to go to Norman and stay at the embassy suites or stay at the haunted hotel, there seemed to have to be something. But he was in a hotel that I personally would not have wanted to stay.

Right. And he was just, chit. It was just all about how Chet was not getting it done. And you heard the disdain in his voice. And I think I know where he was coming from, man. I think Chet and Jason Williams, I feel like they probably in the same group chat. And that group chat, it got Jason Williams in it.

It got Bobby Sora in it. Tom Chambers, probably in there. Danny Aange. He's in the group chat. I got old cats. Kevin McHale. Larry Bird, he in it. He don't really, you know, he don't really text that much.

He's not texting a lot. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no. But he sends one every few months and it's good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But he sees everything. Mark Price, they end the group chat. And that group chat is called twice as hard. You know, sometimes you've got to try twice as hard to be treated like you half as good.

You know what I mean? and they all got that chat. And look, man, they'd be talking to each other. They got a lot of unique experiences that they deal with that other people just simply, you know, cannot relate to. Is Bill Lambier in the group chat? No, no, no. Larry Burr said it's him with me.

You know, so, like, he's not allowed in there. You know, and they talk about it. And then they get together to talk about, like, they're in a safe space where they could, you know, talk about the stuff that black people do, they get on their nerves. not stuff that's racist, right? Just get on the nerves.

Yeah, like I was talking to a white guy. I know that works in a very black space and he made a point that I had not considered. He was like living as a white man whenever one of these political issues that comes up with a race to toe, he is like, hey, man, black people ain't giving you no leeway, no rope whatsoever, ain't none of it.

The littlest bit of deviation for being down with us and they're like, see, that's what I always knew about him. I always knew. I hadn't thought about that. That's a lot of people. pressure that these white boys in these situations beyond. Why do you see me going like this? Yeah, yeah, yeah, they all there, right?

And so they all, they all in that group chat, man. And they had been encouraging shit, you know, they had been, they had been really, they had been really helping them out. And Ben Simmons was the cop, Ryan, that you had for that performance. And look, it works. Ben Simmons would still play some defense. Right. Right.

he put up the he put up a simonsian uh performance he what i mean it's the same cop of great player scared of the rim yep still give you other things right but no scared of the room and so they was they was they was they was all there and nobody said anything whole after the game man nobody had nothing to say in in the in the entire group chat man like and you know like in a time like that it's really sad man like chris mullin he's He ain't have no idea what to say at that point in time. Ain't no Europeans in the chat also, by the way, just so you understand. Birdman, Birdman was just kind of down, down about it.

Mike Miller was like, should I say something, right? Like, is this my chance to get in here? Scott Pollard, you know, he got a sense of humor. So he was just in there telling jokes, talking about, you know, all kinds of other stuff. Rafeifferts was like, damn, they just invited me to the chat last week. It's too early to pop in. Yeah, too early to go there. Boy, Tyler Hansbrough was so mad.

He ain't know what to do, right? Like, he's just breathing. It's like, damn, man, you know, because they were all rooting for him. You know, they, there's every single one of them. That's where they were, man. They wanted better things to happen. And then finally, after Dan Marley tried to start a conversation

about something completely different, Larry Bird just finally sent the text Can't play like a bitch and think you're going to win he hadn't sent one in years some people had even forgot that he was in the chat and then the worst thing happened for chat

he noticed that the message just kind of stopped like he thought it was still the silence and the next thing you know he looked at the bottom of the chat and you know what it said Luke Cornett has joined the group Luke Cornett came in there and he showed

the gif of him blocking that shot and he put in there y'all know he's black right and press sin because he was trying to ingratiate himself to the new crew

and Chris Mullen was like was that supposed to mean you know he's like I was just playing I was just playing they're like of course we knew he used to be in the chat but we had to kick him out right you know and Chet had to watch that man

and everybody was just patting cornet on the bag. Good job, dog. Good job, right? Good hustle. Yeah, way to do it. Way to hold it down, right? Because the truth is, and I hope that there's somebody

that can help chat out with this, right? Nick Collison, he's not in the group chat. He hadn't been invited, but that's good because he don't know nothing that's going on over there. And he, you know, Mr. Thunder, he can come put his arm around shit. But he's going to have to be honest with him and be like, you know you set us back last night, right?

It's not just about you. It's about all of us. It's about all of us. Maybe you should pay some attention to that Luke Cornet. You see how he rose to the occasion? That's what you had been going through, man. Right? And that's what I'm just saying.

Maybe y'all don't need to be so mean to my guy, right? He got the weight of the world on his shoulders right now. He holding it down for all. all the American whites. He's trying to do it. He's trying to do it. Then he looked down in the group chat again, and they was like,

Paige Beckers has entered the chat. And she was like, couldn't have been me. I ain't never come up short like that. You know, they both from Minnesota. And they was like, no, we thought you was going to come in and encourage him. Why would I do that?

What's you talking about? She didn't. Me and my mama, we ain't about that at all. So anyway, I think shit will be fine. I think this will all work itself out, you know? But maybe he need to go hang out with some monks, right? Because he need to do something because I don't know if you saw his post game interviews in the locker room, that boy looks sad.

And how could he not? How could he not feel like it's all his fault? How could he not? Right? It ain't just about him. It ain't just about the blue devils. It's about something way bigger. And, I mean, I'm not going to say that part.

Now, if you haven't heard. All right, Bo, if you haven't heard on Thursday, the NBA, overwhelmingly agreed to change the draft lottery format. A couple changes. It'll expand the lottery from 14 to 16. So that includes the eight seed in each year's lottery. And also it has flatten the odds for the top three, teams in what they're calling a relegation zone.

But what was your biggest takeaway from this change? Well, also, I think it's important to note that you can't get a top, is it can't get a top three pick or top five pick seven and three straight years? Correct. Top five pick three straight years. Yes. Okay. Sorry, San Antonio.

Well, now the math on you driving into work every day has changed. Isn't that unfair to that person? Well, unfortunately, what we're trying to do is stop cars from coming into the city. We're trying to stop that exact situation. Right.

What we're doing is we're making omelets. And what do we do when we make omelets? We break eggs. Some eggs are going to get broken, right? Yeah, it stinks for you if you are the Grizzlies. And you made this trade with Utah because you thought next year's pick from Utah might be the number one overall pick, though I think you were looking at this wrong

if you thought that they were still going to be tanking it out going to next year. Like I don't think that's going to happen. But anyway, yeah, that's what you thought was going to happen. That is why you made the trade. Things done changed, right? If you want to get rid of tanking or to disincentivize tanking,

you're going to have to do things like this. And so, yeah, the Spurs were able to put a team together like this and now they're not going to be able to. Oh, well, or you're not. not going to be able to do the same thing. Oh, well, the big reason the spurs were able to pull that off, though, was not because they had the picks because of how well they did with the picks. The rockets could have taken Stefan Castle instead they took Reed Shepherd. Right? Like, they didn't just get there because they had the picks, is the point that I'm making. But either

way, hey, man, do you want to do something about tanking or not? And what happens is people want people want this to be a change in like this is a what they had was a parado optimal solution which is to say a solution where you cannot in a parado optimal solution you cannot improve things for one party unless you make things worse for another okay all that's to say there was never going to be a way to come up with a solution that did not make things worse for somebody right and right and this is that and they this is what happened. And the thing I think they're really trying to solve for

is the embarrassment that happened at the end of this year. Can't have it. Can't. And what they're going to say is, what is your excuse for not trying to win? Now, what may still happen is people deciding, oh, you got a little bit of an injury, just make sure you don't get this bubble wrap guys

or whatever it is. But you don't really have to do this. I think what it is going to do that I think is great is that it becomes in everyone's best interest to get their young players more minutes. Right. Right. Like these guys toward the end of the year, get them more minutes.

Like when we would talk about all the injuries that Anthony Davis would have, I would never know because they had so many years where it was impossible to tell if he was really hurt or they were just sitting them down. Right. Get these guys more minutes. Help make them better players. Give them something to go through all of those things. But the idea, well, now somebody won't be able to do da, da, da, die. You were mad when they were trying to do it.

Pick one. Damn. Right. It's a lot of people complaining about a thing. A very easy target to launch criticism that makes a change. People are not happy with the change. It's just the way we treat this league. Nothing is ever good enough.

All right. And finally, the Jackson Dart situation continues. Both he, Abdul Carter, and James Winston, have addressed the media after his recent comments, introducing President Trump. Trump has also weighed in and doubled down. Bo, what have you made of the story continuing? All right. So I want to make a point about Abdul Carter.

I'm going to be honest about this. I don't know if you remember this, but he wore number 11 at Penn State. You know, that's a big deal for them. Like LaVar Arrington, Michael Parsons, you know, number 11, it's a big deal for lineback. It's there. And he said that he wanted to wear number 11 with the Giants,

but that is retired for Phil Sims. And so when they said he could not wear a number 11, Abdul Carter said, well, I guess I'll wear a number 56 then. And, Ryan, you're too young to have remembered this Lawrence Taylor thing in real time. But, buddy, I can't. I've seen the internet. Oh, buddy. Okay.

I was not around in real time, but I think I still get it. Ooh, boy. Look here, man. Abdul Carter, I didn't know. I couldn't tell if he didn't know who were number 56. couldn't tell it I couldn't tell what he was doing so I assumed that he was a moron

just on the basis of that like I assume that something wasn't right with that boy I could not have been more impressed by the way that he handled the press availability on this one and I no longer believe that about him I think I believe all the way out

it's not just zero back down it was just he was very clear in what he said and he was just like hey, man, based on what I stand for and what I believe in, if you are somebody who was representing me and you, you know, through some level of implication, are saying that basically you support Trump and you represent the New York Giants make it look like I support Trump and I need people to understand that I do not, right? I mean, but he was very clear in what it is and why it is that he felt that way.

And I applaud him for that because that mean, that's not an easy conversation necessarily to have for a lot of people under the circumstances that he was in. And he did that. Jackson Dart, on the other hand, had four minutes to talk about it. And this is my thing about generally speaking right-wing politics in this country. And I guess specifically this Maga Movement or whatever it is, I always say we got this weird thing where the sort of stuff that you can say that can get you fired is the sort of stuff that you can say that will also get you elected, right? Like there's a, there's a certain, there's a certain ethos or a certain way that you speak

and certain ideas that you can express in a political place that is quite honestly not allowed in what many consider to be polite society. Like that's, that's where this is, it's a lot to unpack as to how that, how that incongruence is taking place, but the bottom line is that it exists. I bring that up to say, Jackson Dart, could not say like what it is that he like about Trump. That's a really difficult thing for people to admit or say out loud. Right?

So like what is it about Trump that makes you like what is, you know, you can give that whole, it's a unique opportunity to introduce the president of the United States. It is, but that don't mean you got to do it. Like you decided to do that. You decided to attach yourself to that and that's fine. But I came away from listening to him talk being like, oh, you can't even say out loud what it is that you stand for about him.

you can't even do that. And that, I think, generally speaking, should give people pause about what they're doing and why they're doing it. If you can't say it, that's my thought. And so you wound up with Abdul Carter,

clearly articulating where he stands. Jackson and Dart, just tried not to make it worse. Right? And then James. I was talking to my man, Dexter, about this with James, and he was like,

imagine what, what James was say in the locker room to Jackson Dart about everything that was going on. And lucky for us, we didn't have to imagine because they made James Winston available to the media. And I got to tell you, if I was the Giants, I wouldn't have allowed that. I personally would not have the stomach wondering what in God's name this man is about to say. Could be anything. And guess what? It could be anything.

And what did he say? Everything. He made a comparison to the 16th Street Baptist Church being bombed and everything that went on with that. What else did he talk about? I felt like I saw like three different clips. I can't. It was. Yeah, he talked about the bombing.

He talked about, you know, how society isn't perfect. Yeah. He said a lot. But did he say anything? there you go he said a lot but did he say anything it wasn't quite coherent i talked to somebody who was covered the event and said the hardest thing was not to bust out laughing right there under those circumstances like it it had the out of control freight trade element of i'm a soldier keller winslow at bianney where like people were recording it like or or it's like a toast at a wedding

that someone just had so many drinks and you're like, when is this going to wrap? Oh my God, but I will say it was riveting. Yes. I couldn't take my eyes off of as he was offering all this. He was just all over the place. His megachurch is going to be so cracking. And the wildest thing was he wasn't making any sense,

but he kind of made some sense. And so many people on the internet ate that shit up. Like the idea that James has become like, he's become like the Yogi Berra kind of figure, right? Like me and Shady's always talking about this, that people hated Cam Newton so much and were so threatened by him that he was out here using words wrong and nobody even said anything about it

because they were too busy being mad that the girl might want to slide him something. You know what I'm saying? That they didn't even get around the things that were right there. They used to love to laugh at with people. James, James has become like... Has James become the pinnacle?

He's become, oh yeah, he's being... He has become like the beloved country, like folksy guy in spite of... Which is wild, considering when we were 10 years ago. All of it.

All of it. Right. Like the dude, forget it. Like, even if you get past what happened or did or did not happen at Florida State, right?

The man got suspended in the NFL because the allegation was that he sat down in the front seat of the Uber and immediately put his hand between the driver's legs, a woman.

Immediately. didn't even wait, and they gave him six games or something like that for doing that. So, like, track record, he was a loathed figure. He went from being beloved to loathed. And then he just was really fun to watch football. Like, that was the best comparison of what he had to say, is that he basically threw 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. Did Jamis Winston experience?

Yes, like, like, he's become that, an inco-co- coherent, lovable mess. And I have no idea how to happen. Ryan, I told you, I've mentioned this other a few times. A couple summers ago I'm just mind a ball business sitting in Mordaside Park on a Sunday morning. And he wasn't even playing for the Giants yet. I look up at

his, and I look up at his James. What are you doing here? All right, Bo. A lot of great voice films this week. Here's our first. Hey, Bo. Hey, Ryan. My name is Ev. You know, he's a hater. He's a great A hater. And he's you. You hate yourself. A lot of people hate themselves. And it's hilarious because it's well-timed and it's very comedic and it's enjoyable. Like, Joel feels like somebody you know you actually go to work with, go to church with, and do things with. You might think, well, how are church going people haters?

Again, you not know what hate it is until you met Christian love. Anyway, that being said, you know, love the show. Appreciate what you do. and again, thank you, thank you for Joel because that has really inspired me to achieve my true level of hatred. Much love, bye. I love that Joel has become so relatable.

And his wife got him a new iPhone for his birthday because that iPhone had was so functionally useless. Yeah. That like you, when your wife or your girl gets you something that you already own as a gift,

yeah. It is because she's sick of hearing you complain about whatever's wrong. Or trying to reach you and your phone don't work. Yeah. Yes, yeah, yeah. Or she knows your shit is broke and you refuse to acknowledge it. Of course. All right.
