Starting point is 00:00:00 Look, it's not that confusing. I'm Rob Harvilla, host of the podcast 60 Songs That Explain the 90s, except we did 120 songs. And now we're back with the 2000s. I refuse to say aughts. 2000 to 2009. The Strokes, Rihanna, Jalo, Kanye, sure. And now the show is called 60 Songs That Explain the 90s, colon the 2000s. Wow.
Starting point is 00:00:23 That's too long a title for me to say anything else right now. Just trust me. That's 60 songs that explain the 90s, colin the 90s, in the 2000s, preferably on Spotify. Full show, my name is Danny Hyfitz, and I'm joined by Danny Kelly and Craig Worldbeck. Today, it is power hour where we power rank something every Wednesday. Today, we're not even just power ranking. We are redrafting, baby.
Starting point is 00:01:02 We are redrafting. 24 draft most of it, because we are going to bring back the ringer NFL draft show starting next week. RIP to Ben Solak, who he didn't actually die, but I mean, you know, he's not going to be on the show this off season. R-I-B, R-I-E-SPN. Yeah, R-I-E-SPN to Ben Solac. But we're going to keep doing the NFL draft show, so we have that.
Starting point is 00:01:23 So we'll start covering the draft starting next week. We're very excited for that, but we figured what is any better way to start the draft show than starting with last year's draft and how are all these rookies doing with this season? And we'll get to whether what the Bears would do with the first pick if we could do that. So we're going to get to that in a second. We also have a pretty spicy fantasy court. And we're going to do the one second song challenge again. The one second song challenge part two.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Can I wait? We have a lot going on right now. But we're going to just start out here with power hour. So we're going to go through. We're going to put two minutes on the clock for each team. If you haven't done this with us before, every two minutes you're going to hear this sound. Now that's a one second song. That's a one second song.
Starting point is 00:02:04 It's on the list. If people want the playlist for the one second song challenge, we'll figure that out later. Maybe they DM us on Instagram if they follow us. There we go. That's good. Follow us, though. Engagement farming. That's a fair, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Give us a five stars. on Spotify. Five stars, yeah, whatever it is. Everything is a transaction here. Exactly. Just all transactional. Anyway, speaking of transactions, we're going to go through it. And again, we're doing this draft and we're doing this with, if we're redrafting
Starting point is 00:02:29 right now and we're doing this with basically what would the team do, I don't know if you've done ayahuasca and seen into the future and had a vision and you'd seen like the first like eight games right now, but you don't have any of the emotional ties to these players, right? Do you see into the future if you've done ayahuasca? If so, I don't think Aaron Rogers would have played football. All right. That's a good point. This is all part of his journey, Craig.
Starting point is 00:02:48 Exactly. You don't know. He had the doc, the trailer came out. Yeah, we should touch on that. I want to cover that like the Super Bowl. We should touch on that. Oh my God. The trailer is unhinged.
Starting point is 00:03:01 The trailer is unhinged. No, let's do it at the end. So basically, yeah, we're going to do, we're going to redraft the top 13 picks and we're going to do it with the context of what we'd know. So it's basically like the do-over-24 draft. Exactly. I think there is no other way to start. We just have to start right now with the Chicago Bears.
Starting point is 00:03:17 on the clock. And we have to agree on this before we can move on to the next team. That is key. We have all separately gone and looked at how these teams are doing and the players,
Starting point is 00:03:26 but we have not talked about what we think. And we're going to all, thank you, Craig. We're going to all agree or at least hopefully get a two to one vote on what each team will do.
Starting point is 00:03:34 We have not talked about this. Majority rules. I'm really curious how this goes. So, me too. Starting out, oh, DK, DK is going to be mad at me. Start number one.
Starting point is 00:03:46 So Chicago Bears are on the clock again with the number one pick. And obviously the first time this went around, they took Caleb Williams, the quarterback at a USC. D.K. Given what we know, do you think the Bears should stick with Caleb Williams or do you think they should take Jaden Daniels? You are the Bears GM. If I'm the Bears GM right now, I would still take Caleb Williams. Might be a hot take, but I would still take Caleb Williams. Maybe it's just the fact that I'm Irish and I'm not giving up on him.
Starting point is 00:04:15 I'll live with this forever. Yeah. But yeah, I'm sticking with Caleb Williams. It's close, though. And there's actually two choices, I think, that are pretty, pretty logical here. Who'd you guys take? I pick Jaden Daniels. I have Jaden Daniels too. And I know that that's kind of reactionary. But like, is it? That's the thing. Is it? Is it? Like, how many games do you need to see until the reaction until it just becomes like ignoring reality? I don't know because we're at the point where we're talking about C. C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young again. So part of me is like, you never know anything. C. C. J. Stroud. I guess, I mean, it's new this to say, Jane Daniels has outplayed Caleb Williams this year. Caleb's not playing poorly despite Thanksgiving. I guess here's my question, D.K. If Cliff Kingsbury had been the offensive coordinator right now, he's the office to quarter for Washington
Starting point is 00:05:01 and they had, you know, started the season with like one of the best offenses ever, if Cliff Kingsbury had been running Chicago's offense to start the year, and then Shane Waldron, who was the Bears' offensive coordinator, if he had been working with Jay and Daniels in Washington to start the year, do you think that Jaden Daniels would look, awful for the first six weeks or just the Washington offense would be pathetic like Chicago's was and do you think
Starting point is 00:05:21 Chicago would be humming like Washington was or he is? So the question is if we switch the places what do you think it would look like? That was a long way of saying it. Is this really a conversation of offensive coordinators is what he's asking? I don't think wholly. I don't think wholly
Starting point is 00:05:36 it is just the offensive coordinators now. I do think Waldron was definitely holding Caleb Williams back though in a lot of ways. I think the way that they've played since he's been gone is pretty like the difference in the way that he's played since since waldron was fired is pretty dramatic and again it was against the two best defenses in the NFL according to dvola um that being said like you can't deny what jane daniels has done this year like i'm not i'm not like anti jaden daniels in this you're a denier
Starting point is 00:06:03 i think it is still literally just the concerns i had before the draft are kind of a still apparent like we were really worried he's really skinny he takes a beating if he gets hurt how does that change what he does and how they play him. And we've seen that happen throughout the course of this season. That being said, like, I think he has a really bright future. I think he's a really good player. And I don't actually have like a strong, you know, I'm not like super anti. Your guys is overruling me on this one.
Starting point is 00:06:29 It makes sense. I just think I still like the upside with like this, what Caleb Williams is and how he plays, I still think is the highest. I think where I land is like, I think I know Jaden Daniels is good. I think I know. Yeah. I'm not sure I know Caleb. Williams is good. And it's like, you could argue, I mean, we kind of have seen the ceiling of
Starting point is 00:06:50 Jane Daniels already, like a team that's literally perfect on third and fourth down and he makes every throw in as unstoppable as a runner. Like, we've already kind of seen like what it looks like when it's humming. And it was just like the first five games of his career. The first half of the season, basically, they, like the, by EPA per play or EPA per drive, it was Washington's offense was on a list with the 2007 undefeated Patriots, the 2013 Denver Broncos, the 2018 Chiefs with Mahomes, the 2000 Rams that won the greatest show on turf, and Washington. I mean, I don't disagree with that. I think you're right. Like, I just, I don't know. It's probably me sticking to my old takes, to be honest. No, and there's nothing, again, if Bryce Youngens can play
Starting point is 00:07:28 this well again, then anything's possible. But I do think this is classic, like a Bill Simmons who says no, where it's like if they called about a trade. Yeah. Like, if they're like, hey, we'll swap Caleb for Jim Daniels right now. No way. Chicago has a meeting. Chicago has to discuss it in a meeting. They probably still say no, but Chicago talks about it. Washington hangs up the phone. So I think Washington, I think bears take Washington if they didn't have the emotional reaction. I mean, this would be fucking boring if we didn't do this anyway,
Starting point is 00:07:53 so let's do it. All right, so we're giving Bears Jane Daniels, and then we're giving the commanders. And then we're giving the commanders Caleb. Tomatoes get Caleb, yes. Yes, that's what I have as well. That's fine. Okay. Where are we on the timer, Kai? Did we finish
Starting point is 00:08:07 the second, two minutes stretch? I don't know. We'll just reset the timer right now. Reset the timer. We'll start pick three. Yeah. So Jane Daniels, Caleb Williams, is there any, like, debate in your guys' mind?
Starting point is 00:08:17 It's not for me, but of putting Drake May number two over Caleb Williams. I mean, if you wanted to go to bat for it, you could convince me, but I would take Caleb Williams second. And I think, and I think Drake is third. I think the Patriots, if they were in the situation again, would take Drake again. Yeah, the Patriots take, I think the Patriots take Drake May again. I mean, he's looked great. I mean, D.K., you compared him Justin Herbert before the, like, before the draft.
Starting point is 00:08:37 And he looks kind of like a, I don't want to say a dumber, Justin Herbert, but like, I don't know. Like if Justin Herbert wasn't a fucking computer, that's kind of what Drake May looks like. I'm also factoring in that this next quarterback class isn't going to be great. Because you could make the case for the Patriots, you could be like, well, they could just take Joe Alt. You could do the great left tackle.
Starting point is 00:08:54 Oh, no. Hell no, yeah. But if there was like three amazing quarterbacks coming in in 2025, maybe you could make that case. You take Brock Bowers, you take Joe Alt. But because it's so weak, I think you have to go with Drake May. We haven't talked about this. Drake May, we have not talked about this.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Drake May is on pace to break the single season record for yards per carry. Literally, Drake May is averaging nine yards per carry. The record is held by Michael Vick in 2006. That's wild. Michael Vick at eight and a half. And also, it's not running backs because running backs average four or five. Quarterbacks get more scrambling.
Starting point is 00:09:23 So the quarterbacks hold the record. Drake Bay would be number one. Michael Vic 2006, eight and a half. Number three is Beattie Feathers on the 1934 Chicago Bears. God, dude, all these guys keep coming back. Beetheathers. It's because there was only like 10 players back then. That's why their names always came coming back up.
Starting point is 00:09:40 because there was like a dozen of them. Dude, beady feather. But like, isn't that like, we haven't talked about that enough? Drake Mae is averaging nine yards per carry.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Again, you know, math guy, there's only 10 yards to get a first down. That's kind of insane. So, I mean,
Starting point is 00:09:53 I know that's probably just mostly because the Patriots suck and the total lack of respect for all of New England's receivers. I think, yeah, the Patriots, though, like,
Starting point is 00:10:01 Craig, to your point, like, there is absolutely zero regret. I feel like from the Patriots for this thing. Drake May's running is like, really excited about his future.
Starting point is 00:10:08 To me, Drake May's running is like a survival instinct and not like a design. You know, like he is staying alive out there averaging 10 yards of carry, not because they are planning that. They're planning the offense to do that, you know. All right. We'll just go on next year.
Starting point is 00:10:21 So we got the cardinals. This is where it gets interesting. Yeah. Yeah, I totally agree. It's still, it's three quarterbacks still one, two, three. The Cardinals, I feel like, so obviously the Cardinals in real life took Marvin Harrison, Jr. at Ohio State. I feel like if the Card, I'm biased.
Starting point is 00:10:34 If Arizona goes wide receiver here, Malik. The Cardinals take Malik neighbors. Yeah, I agree. if they take a receiver. I agree. Look, I agree. I agree. I toyed with the idea of doing Brock Bowers,
Starting point is 00:10:47 but then they already have Trey McBride. I agree. It makes a ton of sense, but. No, I think it's the opposite. It makes a ton of sense. Like all these NFL teams now are running two tight-end sets. And it's like, dude, I don't know where Brock is going to go in this,
Starting point is 00:11:00 but Brock Bowers has a case as one of the four or five best rookies of my entire life. I mean, he's leading the NFL in receptions as a rookie tight end? the entire, not the entire league, not rookies. Rock Bowers has more catches than everyone else playing football. Jimar Chase. He's one of the people playing football. He feels like a little bit of everything too. He's like fast, but also big, also has good hands.
Starting point is 00:11:22 He can also like break tackles. He feels like a combination of all of the best tight ends I've seen over the last decade. If you're Arizona, do you take Brock Bowers, do you take Malik neighbors? I love Malik neighbors, but like I can totally see wanting Bowers over him and having Bowers and McBride be the basis of your offense. do you take a left tackle and protect Kylie? I think it's Malik. I think the obvious line has been not great but not terrible.
Starting point is 00:11:45 And I don't know. Are you really going to go into the season with two tight ends and Michael Wilson and Greg Dorch? Yeah. No, I think that's, I think Cardinals take Malik. Oh, Malik on the Cardinals would be, we got to get Malik some help. I think that would be a lot of fun. Neighbors, one, and ESPN open rate, which is kind of a weird stat, but he's 99th percentile. No, sorry, 99 score and ESPN open score.
Starting point is 00:12:06 The next people are at like 85. It's kind of a weird calculation. but even just like, I mean, he's just always open. Again, I keep coming back to like the Giants relied on a receiver as the basis of their offense. More than any team in the history of the NFL is relied on a rookie receiver immediately. Like, even O'Dell Beckham didn't play the first month because he had a hamstring thing. Neighbors, Fantasy Points. Tom, Tom, Tom, there it got me.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Fantasy points, the website's great site with Scott Barrett. They have this first, first read target share. Malik Neighbors is the first read on like 43% of the Giants passes. That's the most in the NFL. He's a rookie. that's it's crazy so yeah neighbors so just to recap we have the bears taking jaden daniels first then we have washington taking kela wings patriots still take drake may cardinals taking malik neighbors chargers all right put two minutes on the clock charges last time took joe all fifth out of
Starting point is 00:12:56 notre dame i feel like the charges do they still go joe all i feel like the only other person is brock bowers yeah but joe alt's been incredible and i feel like i do understand like you have to protect herbert at all costs and one of the costs is Brock Bowers. I have Joe Alt still. To me, this is like, you build from the inside out. Yeah, it's in their DNA to build this way, I feel like.
Starting point is 00:13:16 I mean, if you look at all the best teams in the NFL, and I think there could have been arguments to put Joe Alt higher, honestly, on this list. Yeah, maybe even for the Cardinals, not that, you know, they're like the worst offensive line, but if you look at the best teams in the NFL, you know, the lions, the Eagles, down the line, the, I guess the,
Starting point is 00:13:36 the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, Chiefs don't really count for this because their defense is kind of like the backbone of their team. But like, I feel like for, especially for the Lions and Eagles right now, like, their offensive lines, just dominate. Yeah. It's such a cliche, but they are so strong in the trenches. And I feel like this is exactly how the charges want to build. It's not as fun.
Starting point is 00:13:54 I toyed with putting Bowers here too. I know we're on the charges now, but the argument is maybe the Cardinal should have taken Joe Alt because the Cardinals had the 23rd pick in the draft and the 35th. You get a receiver with one of those picks. I'm like, you're not going to get a left tackle. That's as good as Joe Alt there. But you sometimes get a receiver at 23rd. Well, another reason why we'll see where Ladd ends up.
Starting point is 00:14:12 But another reason why I like Joe Alt's thing with the charges is because they hit on Ladd. Not that they don't need Brock Bowers, but it's like they did hit on their second round wide receiver already. You know, that's like a proof of concept of like take the offensive line in first, take a receiver a second. Totally. And that is a real life thing as good as Marvin Harrison ends up being where the Cardinals got to be like, damn, we could have like, you know, the Cardinals could have had Joe Alt and Ladd McConkey instead they're going to have Marvin Harrison and, you know, some of the other guys think. Not to get back onto the Marvin Harrison thing, but it is kind of wild how, like, dramatically more impactful Malik Neighbors feels, even on like a bad team. You know, he just feels like such, so much more of an impact player.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Dude, that first month of the season, I was ready to risk it all from Malik Davis. Trade my entire team. I was like, this man is genuinely special. Yeah. And I still think that way. Speaking of, you're New York Giants. So just a recap, yeah, the Bears get you in Daniels, Washington gets Caleb Williams, Patriots get Drake May, Cardinals get Leak Neighbors,
Starting point is 00:15:08 Chargers get Joe Walt. What does you have, Craig? Brock. Yeah, Brock is the best player right now on the board. But should they take a quarterback? You want Bo Nix? I don't know. Like, I understand that I have not been a big fan of Boehner Bo Nix here recently, but part of me is like... That throw last night kind of changed your mind a little?
Starting point is 00:15:26 He did, I will say that money at football game was incredible. Yeah, he did rip that 92-year touchdown. The Marvin Mims throw? Yeah, that was a pretty sick. But Nuss is tough because I think that in a way he is what we thought he would be. To be clear, he's playing better than I gave him credit for. Same. But like, I think that Bo Nix is the quarterback that can succeed with Sean Payton.
Starting point is 00:15:44 I think Bo Nix would succeed with Andy Reid. If he's playing with one of the four or five best play calls, he could probably play for the Lions. I feel like Bo Nix would suck for the Giants and everyone would make fun of him if he was on the Giants. Especially if Bo Nix was on the Giants without him a leak neighbors. So I'm torn. Who's the top receiver right now? Like Darius Slaten? Darius Slate, who they've been trying to get rid of forever.
Starting point is 00:16:04 So basically I'm stuck between two. The Giants take Brock Bowers and Brock Bowers would be like the most incredible player ever to root for. Having said that, have you noticed that the Giants have believed neighbors and the Giants suck and now they need a quarterback? This is the long-term plan though, I think.
Starting point is 00:16:18 But I think the idea is like, could you get a Bo Nix next year? Hopefully, right? Like, I'm basically saying you can basically have the next Travis Kelsey and then next year you have the first or second pick in the draft to take a quarterback. You might get the first quarterback off the board
Starting point is 00:16:33 and then you get the next Travis Kelsey. well. Part of me is like, should they take McCarthy's 21? Bichael, Penix is tough because I think Penix is going to be really good, but also he's made of paper mache and I'm a little worried about that. I guess, yeah, I guess the Giants can take back. I'm not going to be upset about Bowers, but part of me is like, damn, Craig and I are going to outvote you anyway here. All right, fine. You take Bowers, you build the foundation and then you drop a quarterback into a stronger foundation later. You're going to get Chador or Cam Ward, regardless of what you think about them. Like, you are going to get a bite at the like first overall pick Apple next year.
Starting point is 00:17:02 And so, like, do you really want to throw that away? Throw Brock Bowers away for Bonix? Yeah, I think we're losing track of how freaking special Brock Bowers are. Seriously, I think he's one of the best rookies of old time ever. Dude, this is like, what was it? This is like when Bill saw Sequin play for like two weeks. I've seen enough. Dude, Mike Renner made this point this week that like,
Starting point is 00:17:23 so if you look at Fandall, no offense to Fandall, but the Fandall odds for Brock Bowers make no sense. Because the rookie of the year odds, it's like Jaden Daniel's overwhelming favorite. And then it's like Bonix is like, Jayden Daniel's like minus 200. The Bo Nix is like 4 to 1. Brock Bowers is 12 to 1.
Starting point is 00:17:36 Ridicrous. And Mike Rinder pointed out, Brock Bowers is maybe the best tie down in the NFL right now. Like, who's better? Trey McBride and like George Kittle, who's like, you know. Kittle. I think it's only Kittle. Yeah, it's only Kittal.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Okay. So he's at worst, the third player, best player at his position, at worst. And he's a rookie. Me, straight up one of the best pass catchers in the NFL. He's also dominating on a terrible team playing one of the hardest positions to play as a rookie.
Starting point is 00:18:01 It's the hardest to play. as a rookie, you have to learn to block and receive at an NFL level. And like, that's the thing that gets me. It's like, if you had asked really smart NFL people before the season, could a rookie tight end lead the NFL and catches? I think people would have said that's like impossible.
Starting point is 00:18:13 He's been catching balls from Aden O'Connell, Gardner, Minchu, and Desmond Ritter this year. The Chiefs game, like the, would he be Trent McDuffie? Like, as Rogers said, up the red line, up the numbers. And like, with a one-hand catch, Trent McDuffie, Trent McDuffie was an all-pro cornerback last year. And Bowers is beating him. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:18:31 Okay, yeah, he'll be a giant. I'm cool with that. Yeah. We don't have to talk you into this. Next great giant tight end, Brock Bowers? Sure. Okay, that sounds sick. This NFL Sunday, Fandel wants you to win even bigger.
Starting point is 00:18:49 Right now, all customers can get a 25% profit boost on same game parley. It's on any NFL game you like. That means you can boost your next NFL same game parlay by 25% and take home even more winnings. The Giants are playing the Saints this week. and I feel like I can see in my head the visions of Derek Carr hitting Marquez Valdos Scantling for a 50-yard touchdown. I would bet on that. Or Nick Westbrookini are a new god for the Titans.
Starting point is 00:19:15 Just what is, you know, might as well be Christian McCaffrey last year. You just do just score on touchdowns left right and center. Probably don't bet on him to get a touchdown. Honestly, just stick to Veldez Scantling. Bet on over under spreads, player props, touchdown scorers and so much more. Plus, if you win, you'll get paid instantly. So don't wait. Head to fandul.com slash ringer fantasy to download America's number one sports

Starting point is 00:19:55 Gambling problem, call 1-800 gambler or visit RG-dash-Help.com. Bears get Jaden Daniels, commanders get Caleb Williams, Patriots get Drake May. Cardinals get Malik neighbors over Marvin Harrison. Chargers stick with Joe Alt. Giants take Brock Bowers. This is, by the way, this is chalk.
Starting point is 00:20:08 This is my exact redraft. We've hit. So the Titans, they took J.C. Latham to tackle at Alabama. And I do think J.C. Latham's been pretty good this season. Like, I think him and the Peters Gronsky left guard. I do, lokey, like, my hottest take that no one gives a shit about is I think that those two
Starting point is 00:20:22 might both go to the Hall of Fame. It's like J.C. Latham and Peter Scoronsky. Like, I think they've been incredible. They might be the best left side of a line for 10 years. Having said that, do the Titans take J.J. McCarthy or Michael Pennix here or Boeck's? Having seen Will Levis play? I don't know what the difference is between the Titans and the Giants.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Because if the Giants take Bowers, I don't know why the Titans wouldn't take Latham, but... They need to take Boe-Nex, I think. I kind of think so, too. I know that it's like, we've been saying this, like, I think that Sean Payton is definitely
Starting point is 00:20:50 like a force multiplier for Bo-Nix. And I would say the same thing, COC is going to be a force multiplier for J.J. McCarthy. Boe-Nex is, he's like number two and rookie of the year odds. Like, let's be honest. They need to take a quarterback,
Starting point is 00:21:02 I think. The only challenge is that, again, Brian Callan, the head coach of the Titans, his dad's the offensive line coach. And so you're going to be in trouble with your dad if you don't take the alignment. I had two people written down. I had Jay Z. Latham and Bo Nix. I think it's Knicks.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Titans fans having seen Will Levis, like, Latham's really good. Nick's, this is also one of those things that's like you date the opposite of the girl before or whatever. Like Bo Nix is sort of the opposite. Say for libel, he'll have your daughter home by nine. He's had like a job for five years. He's already moving up to corporate ladder kind of. guy. Like he's, you know what I mean? He's like, is Bo Nix married? He's been married for five years. I would be, I would guess he got married in like 2019. I still think all the time about the first time
Starting point is 00:21:45 I watched Bo Nix because I think about it because it was in 2019 before the pandemic. Yeah. Which I just never get over. I don't know. I think yeah. I think Bo Nix is the pick here. I think I think I think Nix is the polar opposite of Levis stylistically. You just know though that Bo Nix on the Titans this year would have sucked and we'd probably yeah. That was a miss. And we'd be. And we'd be. Yeah, we'd be like, they should have took a tackle. Why don't they take Jaycey Latham? This is what makes this exercise impossible. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Yeah. So are we doing that, Bonix though? Yeah, bonics to the Titans. Okay. So speaking of which, the Atlanta Falcons, who obviously took Michael Pennix Jr. at a Washington, who awesome quarterback, a ton of injury history,
Starting point is 00:22:22 like six weeks after they gave Kirk Cousinsonson $100 million guaranteed. And this was the most savage draft pick of decision-making of the whole draft. And I come to you guys right now. I kind of think they should take Pennix again. I agree. this is the pick we made fun of like the most in here, gave it like an F or something. I had like four different options for every pick from six to 13
Starting point is 00:22:44 except the Falcons at eight. Once again, I just have Michael Pennex. I think it's correct. Here's the thing. And again, this goes back to what we said on draft night. I don't dislike the decision to draft Michael Penix.
Starting point is 00:22:56 I think like they're quarterbacks. They're hard to get. You don't want to pick the eighth in a row, third year in a row. The problem is what is your scouting process that you gave, Kirk Cousins 34, 35, 36, I think, coming off an Achilles injury,
Starting point is 00:23:10 six weeks earlier, they gave him 100 million guaranteed, and then they drafted Michael Penix. Like, how did you not know by like March 9th that you wanted Michael Pennix? So I don't think the pick was bad. I just think you have to do it in tandem with it.
Starting point is 00:23:25 I don't think the pick's bad, but I think you have to think Kirk Cousins is like, maybe the worst free agent signing of all time. Because they gave someone, really, they gave 100 million guaranteed and they replaced him six weeks later. That's never happened.
Starting point is 00:23:35 Michael Pennex is the is PFF's number one ranked, uh, QB according to grade. I think he's like, five passes. Maybe. They all look great though. God. He was like two completions. He went two for four, a couple weeks ago, and it was erotic. Dude, lefty, Phil Rivers.
Starting point is 00:23:52 The only like pushback I would give you guys, I actually did not write Michael Pennings down. Oh. I wrote down Laiuatu, UCLA. No. The Falcons have 15 sacks all year, which is like, It's a lost cost. Yeah. The Falcon, they absolutely need a pass rush, but you can get those in free agency.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Like pass rushers exist in free agency. Why haven't they done it then? They haven't done it like 10 years. I don't know. They're crazy. Honestly, I think the argument here is if they take JJ McCarthy because why are you taking Pennix who's, what, going to sit for two or three years and then be 27 when he plays that. James McCarthy is 21.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Right. So should that be the guy? Yeah. It has to be penics to me because the offense is good enough and like ready enough right now where you need the insurance policy with Kirk. I mean, even if he doesn't play this year, I still think it makes sense. I don't, maybe four weeks ago when Kirk threw for 500 yards against the box, it would have been like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:40 But seeing Kirk the last three weeks and he's now leading the league in interceptions, I'm like, yeah, man, it has to be pennies. It's the right thing. McCarthy's better in this system, but like it is funny to think, well, he's hurt, you know, they might need him right. And I was going to say, in this scenario and this exercise, are we talking, is JJ McCarthy hurt? I think, yes.
Starting point is 00:24:57 I think we're doing it right now. So that's why I think we have to go with pennies. It's also so funny. next week. It's so funny to not change that. They might win the division. And Bejohn Robinson and Drake London. They could make a splash if they have the right quarterback who could be.
Starting point is 00:25:10 We are just absolutely destroying ourselves by doing this. No, we're trolling ourselves. I think we, it is. But I also think we were consistent about this. We all like Pennix. Yeah. I love that guy. About this, you know, four season ending injuries in college.
Starting point is 00:25:25 Yeah, it was the situation. Like, I think the thing is there were six quarterbacks in the top 12 picks. The Falcons had the eighth pick. you didn't think you'd get a fucking quarterback that's the thing of the whole thing if you wanted Kirk Cousins just take a I don't know it's insane Is it wild to you that there's a Bo Nix
Starting point is 00:25:40 and a Michael Pennix In the same draft it's just a Knicks and a Pennix A Bonix and a Pennix That doesn't jump out to me as How many other How many other last names do you know that ended N I don't know Chris Manix
Starting point is 00:25:54 Craig doesn't give him He's like I don't give a fuck Yeah Jesus fine Craig Sorry Sorry Don't get mad at him. Top eight picks there. Bears are taking Jaden. Commanders are taking Caleb Williams.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Patriots are taking Drake May. Cardinals take Malik neighbors over Marvin Harrison. Chargers to keep Joe All. Giants take Brock Bowers. Titans take Bo Nix instead of J.C. Latham. The Falcons take Michael Penning, Jr. again. What do you say? Bonics.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Bonics. Bionics. Oh, Bonics. Hooked on Bonics? Hooked on Bonics. Hooked on Bonics. We figured on that. We got it out. We got there. Hooked on bonics. Bears are picking at nine.
Starting point is 00:26:31 I don't think it's tough. It's not Jacey Latham. It's not Roe. And I still think of Dunesley will be very good. It's not Harrison. We're still off on Harrison. No, it's not a lineman. The receivers are the last problem they have on this team.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Do you really, yeah, do you really? I don't know about that. Watching Marvin Harrison of the Cardinals, he's great, but like watching the Bears, I'm just like, they really need a left tackle. Which is funny because maybe they would have sucked anywhere and be like, well, they really could have used receiver. But I'm like, DJ Moore's 26. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:26:58 I don't know. You can find a receiver too. I'm like, Marvin Harrison would be awesome in Chicago. but clearly they need protein and like protecting Caleb. I agree. DJ Moore is very good. Keenan Allen still has enough choosing the tank in my opinion. That's like a perfectly fine supporting cats. Get him an alignment.
Starting point is 00:27:12 And J.C. Latham's a bully. Like that matters. Like you're a cold weather team. You're a cold weather city. You want to use that to your advantage. Look at the bills where it's like they got ran off the field by the Bengals a few years ago in the playoffs. It couldn't play in the snow.
Starting point is 00:27:22 And then two years later it's like look at the bills. They're destroying the Niners. Like they're a physical running team. It's like the bears need to be a physical team as well. So I think Lathom fits the identity. D.K., you disagree? No, not necessarily. I was just thinking in regards
Starting point is 00:27:37 of like, you know, obviously, I don't think it's going to be Rome right here. He hasn't looked all that special so far. But I was like, maybe Marvis and here, maybe this is where Marvin Harrison goes. But yeah, I understand like the need to do a better offensive line. Kind of boring pick, but it makes a lot of sense. Yeah, Marvin Harrison.
Starting point is 00:27:53 I think it's Latham. The Marvin Harrison fall. The slide. The slide. Well, again, if he was just named like, Hunter or Bo, Bo Harrison Jr., son of Marvin. Like, oh, yeah, it's a top 10 pick.
Starting point is 00:28:07 I don't think we'd be insulted. So we're doing Latham. Yeah. Yep. Okay. Building the trenches. Next up, the Vikings picked 10th,
Starting point is 00:28:19 and they trade it up to get J.J. McCarthy. This is interesting because Sam Darnold has looked pretty good. Right. I think the Vikings might not have traded. Now, they don't have Donald under contract, but like, you fix that.
Starting point is 00:28:30 I feel like they might not have tried it. traded up if Donald had been this good and McCarthy's the knee injury. So I kind of, do the Vikings just, I mean, they could take a defender because they ended up trading also in the first round for Dallas Turner. So like Jared versus, the Rams is in play here at Byron Murphy. But part of me wonder is to the Vikings, just say screw it, take Marvin Harrison, Jr. And just like, just have Addison, Marvin and. Probably not.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Jefferson. I mean, that would be sweet, but. I had them taking a defender. I had them going after either a Jared verse or just getting like a Quinnian Mitchell or something and just like doubling down on the defense. I don't really think their offense needs a lot. I mean, they already traded for Cam Robinson left tackle after what's his day went down. Christian Darasso.
Starting point is 00:29:04 That's what I was wondering, because would they really just take a little Fashana from Penn State? But they have Brian O'Neill on the right side. He's under contract. And like, I don't know if that's necessarily good process all the time. But like Derisaw's heard he's coming back. But like, yeah, they probably wouldn't take a third tackle when you've got two that you like. And like three, really, because you have Ken Robinson. I know he's going to be footage.
Starting point is 00:29:21 Obviously, they have Justin Anderson. Jordan Addison is really good. He had a good year. They have TJ Hawkins. This is actually, this is what we talk about with team needs where it's like, oh, do you go best player available or team need. And I think the question is, best player, unless it creates a problem,
Starting point is 00:29:31 you have two good starting tackles. If you have three, in theory, like, oh, well, just stack talent. But it's like, okay, but that's kind of a problem. If you have three receivers, who you take you off the field? Addison, Marvin Harrison, like that just creates issues.
Starting point is 00:29:44 So, yeah, maybe they just take like Jaredverse. He's been a monster. Would you have D. You guys? Like, why, yeah, this is where I kind of like lost the plot. I had J.J. McCarthy, but now that I'm thinking about it, I think they could probably roll with Darnold for a few more years and feel good about it.
Starting point is 00:30:01 But is Darnold going to blow up in the playoffs and they'll need a quarter? Like, do you really think that you believe in Darnold? Probably it's like maybe they should take McCarthy again. Honestly, I almost feel like because McCarthy tore is, was it his meniscus he tour? I think so. That almost makes me like want to give him to the Vikings more because now they're like, well, Darnold's good. And while Darnold is playing, well, we don't need J.J. McCarthy.
Starting point is 00:30:22 And even if he's not ready next year, that's okay because we can extend Donald for another a year or two. It's like the Jordan Love situation. I kind of think they should take McCarthy because we're basically saying they don't need a receiver. They don't need a tackle or like take a pass restaurant. Like take a fucking quarterback. Like, you know what works? Taking quarterback when you don't need a quarterback. That's what the Packers did. The Vikings are good enough. They're not going to be in the top 10 again for a long time probably. Yeah, they don't really need anything. So it's like I guess you just go after what could maybe be a franchise quarterback. What's the worst thing? You trade McCarthy in two years.
Starting point is 00:30:49 He doesn't play and you get an actual return for him. It's not going to be like a Tray Lance situation. You know, he could get something for him. Yeah. I think we give McCarthy. I think this makes sense. This is what I originally had. And then I was kind of like overthinking it, I think. I kind of think the Jets, do the Jets take Foshano again? I said I had to Penn State. He's played well.
Starting point is 00:31:06 He hasn't played as much, but he played four games. He started the last two. D.K., he looked really good against the Seahawks. Yeah. I mean, again, this is like not super exciting and not super fun, but it does make sense. This was always a smart pick for them. They've like, you know, got these hired guns coming in as left out as like offensive linemen, these guys that are over the hill.
Starting point is 00:31:25 they'd still need to build for the future. This is also a team that's like, we don't know who the head coach is going to be. We don't know who the GM's going to be. Just take a tackle. That's a foundational piece for your offense. Speaking of which, you know what we should do. I know we just wrote this down.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Part of me is like the Jets traded back a spot with the Vikings. In reality, the Jets would stay in 10 and take McCarthy. We should flip that. The Jets would not be staring J.G. McCarthy down and not take him. The way my redraft worked out was there were no quarterbacks left by 11. Otherwise, I would have taken 100%. But that's because the Jets traded back from 10 to 11. So we're going to...
Starting point is 00:32:00 The Vikings traded up from 11 to 10 on draft day. So we're going to scrap that trade. I think we should scrap the trade because they did it on the clock. And I'm like, there's no way the Jets would trade with McCarthy. I think the Jets should take McCarthy at 10. Think about that. The Jets could have J.J. McCarthy. Think about that. And they took a left tackle and he's playing well.
Starting point is 00:32:17 And I think that's a responsible like win now with Rogers, win later beyond Rogers move, the left tackle. But now, don't you think every Jets fan would, want change him. Even with the injury, screw it. Like, they need hope. I think this does make sense. It does. I like this a lot. And then imagine, I mean, McCarthy's kind of a spiritual guy.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Rogers, kind of like, meditating. Taking him under his wing. Keep Rogers away. Rogers is bringing him on his spiritual retreats. Remember the first thing Rogers said to Jordan Love? No, it wasn't George Love. It was Brett Hunley.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Right, right. It was the previous back-off. This is Brett Humley's story, by the way. Brett Humley walks to the door. Yeah, Rogers. Yeah. What did he ask him about? Like, pyramids?
Starting point is 00:32:59 Something. Some conspiracy theories like look into it. 9-11 or something. Was it 9-11? Oh, God. Jesus Christ. You should look into that. We got to protect J.J. McCarthy from Aaron Rogers.
Starting point is 00:33:09 All right. So, Vikings are getting J.J. at 10, which means now the Vikings at 11. Without McCarthy on the board. Without McCarthy. And Olufoshano is back on the board. I think how bad the Vikings cornerbacks were. on paper.
Starting point is 00:33:23 Yeah, Cune. And what the, well, yeah, but with the Vikings defense of what they've done with,
Starting point is 00:33:28 I don't know, part of me is like, should you take a cornerback or is the Vikings defense proof that that's not a position you need to spend huge draft capital on
Starting point is 00:33:35 because the Vikings, I don't know, it's kind of like potato potato, but part of me is like, should you actually invest at a pass rusher? Because remember, the Vikings later in this round
Starting point is 00:33:43 ended up trading up for Dallas Turner. So part of me is like, would they just take a pass rusher now and not do it like a trade-up? Hmm, tough. Also, they could definitely use the left tackle right about now. If we're doing this for like a right now.
Starting point is 00:33:58 That's the thing. I'm kind of like, I'm part of like defense does make sense here, but also the Vikings defense is incredible and it's going great. I know. And I'm kind of like, Fashano could in theory play guard too for like. And Dara saw like he's coming back from knee injury,
Starting point is 00:34:13 but like he's come back from knee injury. What if he's not the same player? What if he needs a month or two? Like this is something I never understand is why teams don't just stack tackled to the Eagles do it. Worked out great for them. Part of me is like, when is the last time a team really regreted
Starting point is 00:34:26 having a bunch of great tackles? This is one of those like you can't go wrong situations. If they wanted to take Jared Verst, I think that's fine. If they wanted to like bolster their offensive line for the playoff. I mean, this is what you want in the playoffs. You want like the trenches.
Starting point is 00:34:38 So I think both make sense. You want to go for Shano? I think Fashano, maybe that's crazy. That's like a help now and help later situation. The defense is good enough. And I guess, I mean, you want to protect Sam Darnel at all costs, right? In the playoffs, it's like if you're going to start Sam Donald in the playoffs,
Starting point is 00:34:52 you at least want to give them protection. Yeah. I just think, like, just think about this Vikings offense. You have Darnold, like, you're competing with the lions. And this is why, like, I'm wondering for galaxy braining, but I'm like, looking at the lions built. Why are the lines lines? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:04 It's because of the offensive line and everything's around that. So I do think it makes sense because, like, yeah, the worst thing is one of these guys play guard and you're like, oh, my God, look at this offensive line. I've talked myself into this. Yeah. I think that makes sense. It for sure is playing well. Two more.
Starting point is 00:35:19 I mean, he can play guard once everybody gets healthy in theory. Yeah. Now it's fun. Now it gets fun here. The Broncos. So the Denver Broncos, do you want me to do another recap or is this exhausting for me to just now list the 12 things around? People know what's up. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:35 Denver Broncos, so they're on the clock and all the quarterbacks are gone. Yeah. So Bo Nix is gone. McCarthy's gone. I think the Broncos, the Broncos might take Jared Verse. I was thinking pass rusher. Wow. You don't think they're taking a receiver?
Starting point is 00:35:50 I think they take Marvin Harrison, Jr. Right. Oh, yeah. I forgot about him. Yeah, I think the Marvin Harrison either goes to the Broncos or he doesn't get past the Raiders at 13. Like he would definitely put to the Raiders.
Starting point is 00:36:05 I think the Broncos take more than goes to the Broncos is Sean Payton going to play him 64% of snaps and take him off the field in key situations. Here's the question. This is not what we think the team would do. This is what we think they should do, right? Right.
Starting point is 00:36:21 Would you rather have, I'm just asking the question. Would you rather have Marvin Harrison Jr. Or Brian Thomas or Ladd McConkey? Dude, I would be wondering that as well. Brian Thomas is really good. I don't know. He's not better than Marvin Harrison, though.
Starting point is 00:36:34 I don't think the Broncos would take Marvin Harrison. Well, what should they do? Marvin Harrison. It's just, Marvin Harrison is good. And I know we've been hard at him because, like, fantasy. But, like, he is running adult big boy routes. And, like, he does have all the polish.
Starting point is 00:36:48 He doesn't, like, he doesn't have the speed of Brian Thomas. And, like, that makes it tough. and like there haven't been as, you know, many sexy plays. And I do think in some ways I wonder, like, Marvin Harrison is really good. I think he was in part disappointing in fantasy because he was the highest drafted rookie like receiver in the history of fantasy football.
Starting point is 00:37:05 But if he falls to the 12th pick, you should take her. Who goes higher in fantasy drafts next year? Marvin Harrison, Harrison, Jr., Brian Thomas Ladd. How do those go? Ladd maybe? Dude, Ladd's really high. Ladd's connected to Herbert. And the charges have shed the running
Starting point is 00:37:18 on first down at the highest rate in the NFL. Like now that the Chargers throw on first down at even a normal rate and Ladd, again, we talk about like target share. How much of the offense? The pie do you get?
Starting point is 00:37:32 105 of the 115 yards at halftime last week, went to Ladd-Baconchi. All right, so are we doing Marvin? Marvin to the Broncos, which leaves us with the Raiders. Brian Thomas is such a raider.
Starting point is 00:37:42 Come on. Ooh. Yep. He's such a raider. Are we just out on Rome then? Brian has been awesome. I like Rome a lot, but I like Brian Thomas more.
Starting point is 00:37:51 than Ladd then? I think it's really close it's different styles I think if I'm the Raiders I want Brian Thomas I think Ladd makes a lot of sense for Herbert and the Chargers
Starting point is 00:38:02 but if I'm the Raiders you need like remember Brock Powers is not on this team in this scenario right now you need like a big place they still have Michael Michael Mayor or whatever
Starting point is 00:38:11 and they could like yeah yeah build an offense yeah dude yeah that's the you need like a vertical playmaker Ryan Thomas has been
Starting point is 00:38:19 unbelievable this season like there's been he had a couple like he's he's just open so frequently I think him and Lawrence like it's almost underrated how good he is because the jags have been collapsed and awful and then Brian Thomas sort of shoulder he's electric that I'm obsessed with that photo Brian Thomas running for touchdown the Colts cornerback is like like diving after him and it's like horizontal in the air trying to catch him Brian Thomas has been amazing again it goes back to I wish we had talked about this in the even more but we said it all the time Xavier Worthy breaking the combine record
Starting point is 00:38:50 is it really more impressive for worthy to run a 4-2 than Brian Thomas running a 4-3, 45 pounds heavier and 4-5 inches taller? Which is more applicable to the NFL. It's like clearly Brian Thomas. Yeah. Big man gets moving. He's so good.
Starting point is 00:39:06 I don't understand how he fell. Now they just need a quarterback again. I mean, I guess, yeah. I guess you could have thrown out like Quinyan Mitchell, Cooper DeGene, Jared Verst for the Raiders, whatever, but I do think I would probably just take Brian Thomas. DeGine fell to the second. round for the medical reason. So I think that's still
Starting point is 00:39:22 something that, you know, doesn't necessarily change because it's about like a long-term prognosis. And I do think that's probably why Ladd fell a little bit too. But, I mean, for Schitts and Gags, do we want to do the Saints here at 14? I guess they still take a line. Shits and Gags. Yeah, who do you think? I think they... I could see Edge. I could see Quinyon.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Yeah, I mean, they lose Marchion-Ladamor. They could go Quinyon. They could take like a... They could go line, take Troy Fautanoo or something. I still think they'd take Fawaga probably yet because their line was a offensive lemons of mess ending the season. But DK, so with the guys who fell out of the top 13 altogether, like Roma Dunezay, are you concerned at all about Roma Dunez?
Starting point is 00:39:59 Or it's just he's good, but this is a weird offense with weird coaching and like he's, you know, he's probably like a by-low. I'm moderately concerned, I would say. That's how you feel about the entire Bears in general. Moderately concerned. I think it's very clear to me, Malik Navors is a superstar. I think it's very clear to me Marvin Harrison Jr. is good. Can be great.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Roma Dunesay haven't seen a ton honestly that like makes me super excited I think he's like been producing I think he's he's really underwhelmed in terms of like his ability to win at the catch point
Starting point is 00:40:31 like that was like a big selling point on him and he's not really done that yet but that offense has been a mess so I'm like definitely still hopeful for him but I can't say that I've been like he hasn't done anything that makes me like sit up in my chair can you guys remember a play no I made this year that's like been really
Starting point is 00:40:48 to be honest, it's usually like him being open at the beginning of the season and Caleb's overthrowing him. That's a lot of almost plays. There's been a lot of almost where either yeah, he's open. There's just there's not the chemistry. But again, I just don't think that offense was detail oriented to begin the year.
Starting point is 00:41:05 Like there just wasn't a lot of... And he's also been hurt. Like he had a knee injury to start the year. So there's like that variable. Can we have the Steelers take Ladd in the first? Can we just add that? Yeah. I would love that. For fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:18 also while we're here, I have to shout out. I'm not going to lie, I don't know this person's real name. I apologize, but on Twitter, they're named Jetpack Gallo which is a funny person to cite. But they... They do good content. They do good content and they... Astronauts. They had this tweet that
Starting point is 00:41:32 I've been thinking about for like three weeks, which was a hot take as a joke, but it wasn't a joke, and it was like, the chiefs trading up to take Xavier worthy instead of Ladd-McConkie will cost them multiple Super Bowl championship. And I was like, man, that is, like, the
Starting point is 00:41:48 Chiefs literally took worthy over McConkey on the board and you watch McConkey, you're like, oh my God, he could be with moms. Yep. That's like when the chiefs took Clyde Edwards, Hilaire instead of Jonathan Taylor. Or N. T. Higgins, who was like the next pick? And I think the McConkey thing. You can do that. You can do that for every.
Starting point is 00:42:06 I know. Like you get like just like, if you want to just be really depressed, just go look at like the player after your team picked. Oh, yeah. The last like five years. It's like, oh my God. I wanted to jump off the bridge. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:17 The Giants took Andrew Thomas, the next two picks are two and Herbert. Yeah. Herbert. Oh, God. Sorry, Harvard. Yes. I mean, the Seahawks have plenty of those as well. Every team does.
Starting point is 00:42:28 Yeah. The Patriots, the list of the players, the Patriots, if they had just taken, just no, like, cherry picking. Just the receiver after the Patriots drafted receiver is like Keenan Allen. Like a Hall of Fame team. Yeah. It's like they're all, none of them are hall of favors, but they're all like, we're a top 15 receiver at some point in league.
Starting point is 00:42:44 It's like six guys. It's insane. So there's her redraft. That was fun. That was fun. And again, we have the draft show coming back. The NFL draft show is coming back next week. And then again, for those listening to us in this season and haven't, we cover the off season.
Starting point is 00:42:56 We cover free agency. We cover the draft. My phone is buzzing. I don't know what just happened. I don't know if you can hear that. But like, we cover all this stuff during the off season. And so stick with us. If your fantasy team's going down in flames are hopefully winning a championship more likely,
Starting point is 00:43:09 hopefully, like stick with us through the draft season and everything. And we talk about all these teams, how to fix them. Players, D. D.K. is like this crazy scouting wizard, honestly. And yeah, it's really fun. And we're really excited to do it. We're going to start doing that next week. And then during the off season, we do it a bunch too.
Starting point is 00:43:23 So stick with us for the off season. We're going to do some fantasy court right now. Definitely don't tell anyone about this thing that you're doing. I don't really want to be handcuffed. The definition of an object is a material thing that can be seen and touched. The definition of an object. I have a monocle. He's got one of those powdered wigs on.
Starting point is 00:43:51 The definition of an object is a material thing. that can be seen or touched. God, I love it. I love the idea of the guy being like, we got to define an object in the dictionary. Wow. What is that? It's just like a thing that you can kind of see, hold it.
Starting point is 00:44:07 I don't know. Are this cases from Zach? Zachie. Is this the one you've been hyping for like three days? No, that one's next. Oh, too. I'm sorry, Zach. Zach, this one sucks.
Starting point is 00:44:20 I couldn't put this one after. Poor Zach. No, this is the opening act. You don't want to follow the good act. No, yeah. Can't have Heim play after Taylor Swift. So. Heim's good.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Again, no offense to Heim. They're great. That's why they open for Taylor Swift. If Alana's listening, be mad at Hyfitz. I love Heim. We could have them play after Taylor Swift? I don't know anything. I don't know what you're talking about.
Starting point is 00:44:45 Heim, the band. What are you talking about? They open. I don't know that. They walk in their music music. You don't know Heim? I think, D.K., you'd like them. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:53 There's an entire ringer article by Roger Sherman about how Heim just walks in the music videos. They just walk all the time? Yeah, they walk. Where were you saying? Walking to music always looks pretty cool. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:05 Did you see the movie Liquorice Pizza? D.K., the Paul Thomas. One of the sisters, Alana Heim is in that movie as the star. I want to be clear I like Heim. Okay. Anyway, this email's from Zach. Zachie. Zachary.
Starting point is 00:45:18 Wanted to get your feedback in a situation in our league. We've been playing together for around 14. years. And in that time, rivalries have organically developed. Anyway, I am currently in first place and at worst, I can finish in second place. Win or lose, I'm guaranteed a buy. But there's a particularly interesting situation unfolding for the sixth and final spot. One of my larger rivals, let's call him Andy, because his name is Andy. Andy currently holds the sixth seed clinging to playoff hopes. He's got a tough matchup this week. He's a big time underdog. If Andy wins, he may be.
Starting point is 00:45:53 the playoffs as the last playoff spot. If Andy loses and the team in seventh place wins, Andy misses the playoffs. The guy that Andy needs to lose is playing me, as in Zach, like the exact guy. So if that wasn't a good enough explanation, Andy, his, Zach's rival Andy wins, he's in the playoffs. If Zach, or, God, I get all his names, sorry.
Starting point is 00:46:20 It's good, yeah, yeah. If Andy loses, then the fate is in the hands. of the guy writing his email. Essentially, the guy writing the email who's in first or second could tank this week so that his arch rival misses the playoffs. Yeah, so his, yeah, so Zach writes, my dilemma, should I bench my entire team and give the seventh place team an automatic win,
Starting point is 00:46:41 which means my rival then has to win his very, very difficult matchup to make the playoffs, AKA basically could ice this guy out of the playoffs. I kind of love that, to be honest. Yeah. I mean, NFL teams practically do this. they jockey for seating and don't want to, you know, they rest their starters if they want to play a certain team, right? Like this happens.
Starting point is 00:47:00 I mean, teams, if once they clinch a buy, teams do whatever they want, right? Like, teams clench a buy. Like, you know, the Colts never played the last week of the season when they,
Starting point is 00:47:07 um, we're to have the buy. Yeah, sometimes it's better to be a four seed versus three seed because of the matchup situation. Wait, so, but are you saying that he can just take all his players out of the lineup and get a zero?
Starting point is 00:47:17 No, no. I think you have to roster a team. You just roster the worst team you can. Right? You can't bench all. You have to play players in your line. I think you have to have people in your lineup.
Starting point is 00:47:26 You can't fill the empty lineup because that like gets into a bunch of stuff. An NFL team is not allowed to forfeit a game. Well, they are. Well, they are. They just don't. Can they? I mean, forfeit, I believe definition. It's like a right.
Starting point is 00:47:40 Like, you do have the right to forfeit. Theory. Interesting. Is there like a, is there like a fine involved? Can they be sanctioned in any way if they do that? That's a great question. I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Like if one day, like, if the fucking Raiders were just like, we're not playing. It's week 18. We're good. Well, what are they going to do? They don't show up. Like, what are they going to do? Get them on a plane? But is there a penalty involved?
Starting point is 00:48:00 I'm sure. Has to. I'm sure. I'm sure there's a penalty. You lose a lot of, like, money. A lot of money. Yeah, a ton of money. But I think, yeah, you have to have players in your lineup.
Starting point is 00:48:10 I don't know. I kind of think this is, I think this is gamesmanship. Here's my other question. There's six teams on buy this week. Should a team with a buy be forced to, like, add players to, like, you know, to put it in the line? I don't think so. I don't think you need to, I don't think you should be forced to
Starting point is 00:48:23 drop players you want to keep in order to fill a full roster. Lamar and Zayflowers and Jonathan Taylor and, and you know, Jane Daniels, no, you shouldn't have to drop people.
Starting point is 00:48:35 Here is, here is my take on this, which is this is the inverse of what we always say about trades, which is your team is your team. You can run your team however you want. Like when people want to veto a trade, it's like,
Starting point is 00:48:47 when the Eagles got A.J. Brown and a trade, they didn't ask the Giants, if they thought that was fair or enough compensation. Like the Eagles just get A.J. Brown and like you get to run your team. Like that's how it works. Like there's no fucking vetoes in real life except for the one Chris Paltryant. Like there's no vetoes in real life. The flip side of that is you can do whatever you want.
Starting point is 00:49:02 And so you get to see run your team as you see fit. And if you want to play who you're going to play, you can do whatever you want. Don't tell people to run their own team. Don't butt another. Like the Raiders don't get to call the chiefs and tell them like, hey, you guys look really dumb playing Meekle Hardman all this time. So we're saying it's okay. I would say the one specific.
Starting point is 00:49:20 I would add to this is if it's in dynasty that changes the dynamic a little bit because then you have draft picks at stake. And so in all like my dynasty leagues, we have no tanking rules in terms of like you can't just start terrible players. Like all your terrible players. But like why not? Because it
Starting point is 00:49:35 affects the competitive balance based on like who the matchups are. It's funny. We're all in a dynasty league together. How do you determine whether or not they are starting good players or not? But also this is about the playoffs though. This is about making the playoffs. I don't say principally how that matters because it's about making the playoffs or not.
Starting point is 00:49:52 Like that to me feels like the same thing. Yeah, because the guy making the playoffs, he's not affecting his draft spot by benching his good players right now. Because it's just depends on what he does in the playoffs, right? It doesn't affect his draft pick. Right. But I'm just saying like in my leagues, no tanking because then you just have like a couple teams trying to get like last place in the league.
Starting point is 00:50:13 And then people are just playing guys, playing teams that score like 30 points. See, this pretty much my idea. as a team that has earned the first round by running their team as they see fit? No, I think they're different. Including like potentially, you know, kind of gatekeeping the playoffs as a bit. I think that's what fantasies for, frankly,
Starting point is 00:50:29 is to, like, if you have a friend that you want to boot out of the playoffs by, creating a bad players, you could get it. Really deep-seated animosity amongst your friends.
Starting point is 00:50:37 I think that's kind of the point. That's the spirit of it all. Decay. You know what we should do, DK, in our Dynasty League? To prevent even like pseudo shadow tanking,
Starting point is 00:50:47 we should have the last place tournament or the first, pick tournament. It should be the teams eliminated all battle and the winning team gets the first pick. That is how it works. Do we not have that? I can't remember. That is that works. Do we do that? Yes. Craig's team is too good. He doesn't know how it works. Oh, damn.
Starting point is 00:51:02 I guess I only have been in the playoffs. Haven't been focused on the peasants. I do have leagues though. That's a great idea. What a great league with. I do have leagues though like where it's like a toilet bowl. So like the bottom end of the bracket or whatever, they have to battle to try and get draft positioning essentially. So like you don't want to lose at the end of the season. You actually
Starting point is 00:51:18 want to keep winning. Yes. But There's also like the NFL should do that too. So it's like in my league like the 11 and 12s he'd play each other for the first pick. It's not like, you know, the person who's in seventh place is going to get the first pick overall. So it's like it's sort of like structured out like by hierarchy. It's like an NBA lottery where your percentage chance of getting the top pick is very slim. You want to keep like we want to encourage people to keep competing all year long. Can you imagine if starting this week in the NFL week 14 was the beginner of the first overall pick bracket?
Starting point is 00:51:48 It should be that way because think about how. Like, think about it. Stay engaged. Yeah. Playing like, and like they could have gotten a quarter. Like, I'm trying to think about last year's draft, for example, where you look at a team, honestly kind of like the Broncos, where it's like they had just kept playing, you know, you play hard down the stretch and like, we're going to go get a quarterback.
Starting point is 00:52:06 You know what I mean? Like, we're just going to go get. Like, you win the first pick as opposed to you're awarded it pathetically. Like, yeah, you should win the, like, you won the first pick of the draft. The only issue with that is like, you know, let's say it's the Bears versus the Patriots and they're fighting for the first overall pick in the draft is like Justin Fields isn't going to fucking try, is he? Like Justin Fields, the quarterback
Starting point is 00:52:25 of the Bears last year. Why would he want to win the game so that they can draft his replacement? Well, I mean, why do they want to win anyway? I think it's at that point you're going to get replaced anyway. The players have a vested interest to play well because then they make more money. Yeah, I don't know. If Justin Fields plays, if Justin Fields throws a game for the sake of the organization,
Starting point is 00:52:41 everybody watching the game will know that and all the teams that saw that will be like, I don't want this player on my team. Yeah. I just wonder if he'd be like, I have a hamstring injury. Yeah, no, I know what you're saying. It is kind of, well, maybe that would happen. That would be kind of weird. I'm just going to go on record and say this guy, Zach, his meddling is going to come back to bite him. That's my prediction.
Starting point is 00:53:00 All right. But we'll allow it. I respect your game, Zach. I wasn't familiar with it, but I respect it. Okay. I have another fantasy court right here. I've been waiting a few days to guys talking about. This is the good one.
Starting point is 00:53:12 This is better hit. This is from B. Oh. I have something I need to bring to the fantasy court. D.H. This does not involve fantasy football per se. It instead involves the fantasy football app. Specifically, Jackie is in an office league.
Starting point is 00:53:33 Who is that? Who is that? My fiancee, thank you for us. My fiance, actually very critical to the story, is in a 19-person office league. What the hell? I know. I know.
Starting point is 00:53:45 I know. They couldn't find a 20th or kick out the 19th? It was an auction. I'm going to miss the playoffs. I was terrible. I was trying to help her with this auction league. Imagine trying to do the math on a 19-person auction league with four bench spots. And I'm like trying to help her with this draft.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Meanwhile, I'm like, I'm terrible in this like the oldest league I have because the drafts were at the same time. And so I'm trying to help with a 19-team fucking auction. Anyway. I'm tired already thinking about it. Jackie was one of people will not really nameless
Starting point is 00:54:22 one of Jackie's male co-workers slid in her DMs on the ESPN fantasy football app on the app. Wow fun fact, nobody has ever communicated that way. That's the first time anyone's ever done that. That's crazy. So I will not
Starting point is 00:54:37 so this guy slid in the DMs on November 11th and she beat and he slid in the DMs she was like, oh, well, and then he's last week. he said, maybe one of these Sundays, Jackie, or Thursday, we can watch a game, have a drink, just let me know. Okay.
Starting point is 00:54:53 Wait, wait. How many times has he slid into her DMs? Once or multiple times? Twice. This is the third time, actually. First was maybe next time when he beat her, maybe next time Jackie, lull. Then he wrote back like a week after she responded, another lull. Then a week later, he wrote...
Starting point is 00:55:10 Good for you for doing this live, five fits. Yeah. Then a week later, maybe one of these Sundays, Jackie dot, dot, dot, dot, or Thursday, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, we can watch a game. Dot, dot, dot, have a drink. Just let me know. Is this the end of the fantasy court question? Well, she...
Starting point is 00:55:22 Or is more of this. So anyway, so she left me for this guy. His team's really good. Yeah. Oh, Austin wants to know how many dot, dot, dot, dots. One, three dot, four dot dot dot dot, but he only uses two, two dots. Anyway, so he definitely knows she's engaged. How?
Starting point is 00:55:41 Because she talks about me to him. Oh. What? Yeah. She talks about her fiance. He knows. To him. And he said, we should grab a drink.
Starting point is 00:55:52 Yeah. He's trying to do it anyway. Or is he confirmed straight? I don't. I think so. He doesn't want to, maybe he's just nice. Maybe he just wants to be her friend. That's,
Starting point is 00:56:03 maybe he's like bored. I don't know. Maybe he doesn't have anyone to talk football with, you know? You ever just like try to open a door and see if it's really locked? Maybe go to her fiancee then if you want to talk football. You could go to the guy who hosts a fantasy football podcast. Yeah. So anyway, my question is...
Starting point is 00:56:18 She can say yes and then you can go, Hyphitz. And then... Well, all this is to say, what should she respond? What should I type the response? Should she respond? What is the response we should say? She should say, if you trade me, Malik neighbors right now. Damn, the deadline passed.
Starting point is 00:56:34 That would have been a good idea. Email us at ringer fantasy football at gmail.com if you know what I should respond to this guy on the USBenzuela. Did she say that you could put this on the show? Yeah, she actually encouraged me. Does she know? Does she care of any of her? Co-workers hear this conversation?
Starting point is 00:56:47 We didn't get that far. Okay. Does she know this is a public podcast? There's 19 people in the league. He's going to know who didn't. Does he know what you look like, you think? No. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:56:57 You should allow her, you should let her go on the date, or sorry, the drinks. Let her go on the date. Let her go on the drinks. Yeah. And then you kind of just show up as the waiter. He'll have no idea. Kind of misses doubtfire. This is like a rom-com.
Starting point is 00:57:13 Yeah. And then you can kind of monitor the situation. I don't really know why or what that accomplishes other than it's pretty funny. Austin says that I'm Bryce Young and this guy's Tyrese Maxie. That's how tall is he? It would be a problem if he was Tyresexie. That's the first thing we need to figure out. So yeah, email us at Ringer Fantasy Football at Gmail.com or slide in our DMs on Instagram
Starting point is 00:57:31 at Ringer Fantasy Football and like let me know how we should respond to this guy. Also, I can't stress it off. On the fantasy football app. That's what makes me think this is innocent and he's just like wants to hang out and watch. That's what makes me think this is the most shameless person. in the world. Craig, come on. You innocent little dove. What do you tell about it?
Starting point is 00:57:51 Look, I've been on fucking AOL instant messenger since you guys were in diapers, all right? No. I grew up in the- That's not what we're talking about. The reason why he went to the Yahoo DMs is because then when Hyfit sees her screen in the corner of his eye, in the corner of his eye, all he sees, oh, she's on the Yahoo app. She couldn't be doing anything. Couldn't be doing anything bad there.
Starting point is 00:58:12 If he sees Instagram DMs up, what's going on? Who are you talking to? Yeah, who's asking? Yeah. Meanwhile, he's probably like, oh, she's checking waiver wires. What a queen. Meanwhile, he's checking her waiver wire. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:28 I think Rickter's like, move on. Anyway, yeah. So we'll say, but we didn't decide. This is fantasy court. We didn't come to a verdict. What are we deciding? I didn't think it had to be like question whether he's hitting on her. I can't believe DK's even like questioning that.
Starting point is 00:58:41 He's 100%. I'm playing the devil's ad kid, all right? Maybe this guy just is bored. I mean, she could do the classic. I don't think my fiance would be cool with that. But I think you, I think she soft plays it. You know, keep it respectable. This is a coworker.
Starting point is 00:58:57 Mm-hmm. You don't want to be too mean. What does the chat think? Politely push away. And if he comes back a second time, then you lay down the hammer. Oh. HR. You give him the benefit of the doubt.
Starting point is 00:59:12 Is HR in this league? How many HR people are in this league? Someone in the chat wrote, I'm working through a trade honey, leave me alone. All right. This is great. Yeah. I really want to know what happens next. This is going on my life.
Starting point is 00:59:28 We'll give an update on this saga. Yeah. All right. So the fantasy court, I guess in court they call it this case like a continuation. Sure. Yeah. Like a next date. A recess.
Starting point is 00:59:40 No, well, no, a recess to come back. That's like half time. Well, we'll come back later. Yeah. Okay. To be continued. And then while we're in fantasy court, I have to just give one last question from Kyle. Kyle.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Someone in the chat called me Justin Cucker. That's really funny. Hey, oh, that was Austin, I bet, wasn't it? That was probably Austin. But Kyle asked this question, and this is not fantasy court, but we talk about Guy Fietti. Guy Fietti. Nice pronunciation there, Fieti. So yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:09 So Guy Fieri, Fieri, whatever, the son goes to San Diego State. And Kyle asked us, would you rather be Guy Fieri's dad or have Guy Fiati's dad or have Guy Fiati? Fieri be your dad. Would you rather be Guy Fieri's dad? Or have Guy Fierry be your dad? Yes. I would way rather have Guy Ferry be my dad. You sure?
Starting point is 01:00:28 What are you sure? He's like... What's the argument against it, Hyfitz? The inheritance is kind of nice. Yeah. The inheritance, your dad's a chef. He has restaurants all over the world. Awesome food.
Starting point is 01:00:39 Awesome cars. He probably rents those, but that's awesome. Guy Fierry, I think, is like, very rich. Traveling. Yeah, it's probably Vegas. Guy Fury has Johnny Rockets.
Starting point is 01:00:50 He has like airport restaurants everywhere. Incredible looks. Isn't it? Johnny Rockets is his? Yeah. Do you have the air to Flavortown? Yeah,
Starting point is 01:00:59 I guess that's pretty obvious. Dude, he has like four TV shows. He has like diners, drive-ins and dives. There's like guys grocery games. There's like two other things he does. Like Guy Theory probably has cookbooks, merchandise,
Starting point is 01:01:11 cookware. Could be your son. He could be proud of him. Son is an Aztec. He just took down number six Houston last week. Come on. Did you say chicken guy? He has chicken guy restaurants?
Starting point is 01:01:23 Oh, I didn't even know that. Me neither. I never heard of this. Did I get that wrong? Does he own Johnny Rockets? He owns some like American diner. Oh, Johnny Garlix. Sorry, he owns Johnny Garlix.
Starting point is 01:01:34 Oh, yeah, those are some different. Chicken guy with an exclamation point. I don't know what that is, but I like it. That's one of his restaurants that he opened in 2018. All right. So that's answered. Here's the question. Would you rather be Guy Fieri?
Starting point is 01:01:46 or be Guy Fieri's son? You have to have that hair if you're going to be Guy Fieri. Riddle me that. What's your choice? Probably be the son. You got to be the son. You don't want to be self-made? You want to be NEPO?
Starting point is 01:02:02 The heir to Flavertown. Honestly, the name Nepo Fieti sounds like an Italian name. His name is not Fieri. It's actually Ferry. Guy Ramsey Ferry is his real name. He added it? No.
Starting point is 01:02:15 He Italianized his name. It's a stage name? What are you talking? about. I don't know. This is what I'm looking at. Wikipedia. It says it's a born
Starting point is 01:02:23 Guy Ramsey Ferry. No way. He's a fraud. It says like how Trump's real name down the lineage is Drumpf. You're right. Yeah, Trump. Maybe it was like an Ellis Island thing.
Starting point is 01:02:38 It was changed from Ferry to Ferry. He was born Gus Ferry in 1968. He was bored it. Oh, he was saying that like they went back to what was originally. Maybe his like mothers made a, or his dad down the line, it's Fieri. That probably is true, actually. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:53 Like my family name is actually O. Kelly, but they dropped the O back in the day, like 150 years ago for some reason. Email us any cool Ellis Island stories y'all got. Ring her fantasy football. Mine was Beck and they were like, let's make this worse. Yeah, I made Horl Beck. Let's add the weirdest four letters ahead of Beck that we could. They ate a Ben, and then said your name. Gus Johnson ate a Benet.
Starting point is 01:03:18 Horle Beck. Horobah. All right. You guys want to do a little one second song challenge? Yeah. Or you want to tell that Rogers doc?
Starting point is 01:03:25 You want to just do that later. We'll cover that. When it comes out, I think December 17th, we'll hammer that. I'm going to watch that entire thing that night. What is the short version?
Starting point is 01:03:34 Basically, he just has that cameras following him for like how long? On his journey. Yeah. On his journey back to greatness. He might be out of the league before this doc airs.
Starting point is 01:03:44 He has to say until it airs. The opening seconds at the trailer. I thought, it was a joke. Well, I thought it was a joke. I thought it was satirical first, too, because he's like, I, you know, I am constantly torn between the noise. Extrovert and an introvert who loves silence. And I'm like, do you love silence? He tells us that every week on his podcast. On his various platforms, he's talking about how much he lose silence. Also, it's like, that was followed up immediately with
Starting point is 01:04:14 Robert Kennedy Jr. saying, do you want to get into politics? Maybe he likes the movie silence. I like I like silence. Let's get into politics. Oh my God. All right. Let's do the one second song challenge. I'm going to host this time. Yeah. The last time we did this, D.K. and I tied? I think I won like a cheap tiebreaker that didn't count. It was like Tom Tom. That was the tie breaking song.
Starting point is 01:04:39 And now it's going to be high fits versus me. I put together this list. We're going to do the thing where we say buzz. And I'm going to choose who I heard first. I don't know what the internet situation is. I'm just going to be honest. It's who I hear first. No cheating. None of this stuff where you just try and hit the buzzer
Starting point is 01:04:55 really quick before even the song finishes. That's not cheating. Yeah, it is. In my world, it is. If you want the one second song challenge playlist, email so at your fantasy football channel.com or DMS, follow us on Instagram, DMS on Instagram. Slide on our DMs. Slide into the Yahoo app DMs of Hypertz.
Starting point is 01:05:12 We'll send you that. If Steph Curry DM me on the Yahoo app and it was like, hey, let's be best friends, I would have never seen it. He actually did in 2016. He decided checking. What if you get back to him like nine years late.
Starting point is 01:05:29 If you're listening and I have no idea what we're talking about, we have this game where we play one second of a song. And it's the first second of a song. It's not a second. It is the first second of a song. And then Craig and I are going to guess the artist and the band. You get a point for the artist and you get point for the name of the song. If one of these songs has like multiple artists attach, whatever, you can just get one of them. That's fine. You don't have to get all of them. Let's say one person gets the song title, but it's stumbling on the artist. The other person can come in and steal the artist for a point. I can, I can, I can, I can,
Starting point is 01:05:56 say, Cool. All right, shall we? How many songs are we doing? I've got 25 here. Okay. That's a lot.
Starting point is 01:06:04 So there's a lot. Well, it's a second each. It's going to be 25 seconds. Yes. Just in rapid succession. I think we're ready to go. Richter, take it away.
Starting point is 01:06:14 Buzz. Aerosmith. Dream on? Got it. Two for Craig. All right. Number two. Buzz.
Starting point is 01:06:24 Buzz. Oh. Craig got it. Uh, J. Empire state of mine. You got it. Craig, off to a hot start here. This is what happened last time. I know. Make my way back. I'm like the Cliff Kingsbury of this game. Number three. Buzz. Hifitz.
Starting point is 01:06:43 Oh, no. Crushed. This is killing me. Oh, oh. It's, oh, I know it. Craig, do you want to buzz in? Highfitz is taking too long. I can't think of it. All right. No one got it. We just talked about this the other day, genuine. Honey. Oh, genuine, right. That's one of those songs that I only hear in like TikToks, and I've never really listened to it. It's big for my generation. I understand. All right.
Starting point is 01:07:07 Number four. Buzz? I don't know what that is. Is it ice-sized baby by vanilla ice? Yes. What? I don't know. That's not the first second.
Starting point is 01:07:19 That came through my headphones weird. Play that again. Does he have like a little interlude before he does like the dun, dun, dun, dun. No, it's a dun, no, no. No, no. This is correct. That is how it starts. The queen riff comes in like a second, like three seconds in.
Starting point is 01:07:37 That's so dumb. That's not even how D.K. intended it. Whatever. Well, Craig got it. I'm done with this buzz. Whatever. Craig is like a freaking maestro out here. All right.
Starting point is 01:07:46 Number five. Buzz. That was close. Shut the fuck up. I haven't gotten one yet. All right. Hyphus. Type break.
Starting point is 01:07:53 Paper plans, M.A. Got it. I tried to make these pretty easy, by the way. All right. Next up. Buzz. Craig? Jay-Z?
Starting point is 01:08:04 I do not believe he's technically the artist on that one. Rihanna? Yes. It's featuring Jay-Z. How long does he get to get the song title here? Sorry, I'll abandon the song title for hyphids. Okay. You're right, though, Jay-Z and Rihanna on that one.
Starting point is 01:08:19 Umbrella. Good job. One to one. Right. On that one. You were thinking Jay-Z because he starts with the uh-huh, uh-huh, like two seconds later. Yeah. Buzz.
Starting point is 01:08:29 Buzz. Craig got it. 50 cent. What's the title that song? Go Shorty? It's your birthday. Nope. All right.
Starting point is 01:08:36 50 cent is correct. You get one. High fits. Can you match the title? Oh, in the club. Oh, no. Just playing defense. You're getting the songs.
Starting point is 01:08:47 Oh, no. I will never recover from that. Do the Gus. Or no, no. Sorry, the Eric Collins or whatever. Disaster. Disaster. To recap right now, we're seven songs through.
Starting point is 01:09:01 Craig is winning 8 to 4. All right. This is number 8. Buzz. High Fitz. Hi Fitz. Justin Bieber, sorry. Got it.
Starting point is 01:09:10 That's a good song. Making the comeback here. Bieber was really cooking for a minute, for a minute there. That music video is good. All right, number nine. Yeah, I bet you like it. Buzz. Duffitz had it.
Starting point is 01:09:23 Ring of Fire, Johnny Cash. Got it. Goat. It's eight to six. No, I think it's eight to eight. That's eight. Sorry, I didn't put it in yet. it's eight to eight this is good

Starting point is 01:10:51 Great song. Number 13. Buzz. Craig. Lose my mind. Y'all go make me lose my mind. Is that not what it's called? It's not the name of the song. Do you got the artist? A little John? No. O for two, Krey or Haifitz, do you have an answer? Buzz. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:10 Up in here? Nope. What the fuck? All right. The answer is, act of fool, ludicrous. No. The answer is DMX party up. Oh.
Starting point is 01:11:20 DMX, guys. Come on. It kind of sounds like a, whatever. I know. Are you going to argue with me? You're wrong. Let's go. All right.
Starting point is 01:11:32 Number 14. Hit it. Buzz. Never heard that my life. That's not true. Craig, what is it? Lady Gaga?
Starting point is 01:11:41 Yep. Aplaus? Yes. Craig is pulling away here. It's 14 to 9. Oh, God. That one was hard.
Starting point is 01:11:49 That's like not a top 10 most famous Gaga song. One more time, please. This really qualifies as a one second song. I was going to say, D.K. just went off the handle. I put it.
Starting point is 01:12:05 We have a playlist of a hundred and thirty of these people email though, Craig, you know this one. For sure. We play it one more time. Can we get an extra second, two second song? No, just play it one more time. Is it bye-bye-bye-bye by in sync? No. It is Little Lies by Fleetwood Mac. Oh, yeah, man, that's tough.
Starting point is 01:12:23 That's an outrageous choice for one-second song. We're doing a little bit hard. I said most of these are gimmies. That one wasn't. All right. We're on to 16. Buzz. Craig? That's the beginning of the song. Is it LMFAO?
Starting point is 01:12:40 Yeah. Party rock anthem? Yep. Interesting. Yeah! Was that really how that song starts? 18 to 9? Yeah, I didn't know that.
Starting point is 01:12:48 16 to 9. No one got Fleetwood Mac. No one got DMX. All right. 17. Buzz. Craig got it. Gangsters Paradise.
Starting point is 01:12:59 Yep. By, uh, um, Oh. Hi Fitz. Wow. Wait.
Starting point is 01:13:08 Cool in the game? Oh, I have it. Can I can't come back to me? No, you can't. Coolio. It's Coelio. It is. You don't get the point.
Starting point is 01:13:16 You get the point. You get one point for that. Damn it. I had the cool. Yeah. I had the cool. Jerry. I had the cool.
Starting point is 01:13:24 All right now, 17 to 9, Craig. Let's do 18. Buzz. If it's. I have it. No. I don't have it.
Starting point is 01:13:34 God. Okay, Craig. I believe it's the hills by the weekend. You are correct. Sir. What are the. these songs you're choosing? Extremely popular ones? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:13:44 DK.K. the 2010s and we get the Hills by the weekend. Again, I don't know if that's the top... I don't know if that's one of the top... I guess it's a top... What are these choices? These are all extremely, extremely popular songs. I don't know what to tell you. We, wait, but the one second, we had 500 people emails, one second songs. You chose none of them. The Hills was in the fucking list. Ugh. You asshole. You made this list.
Starting point is 01:14:08 I don't think so. I reject that. Anyway, we'll move on. Number 19. Buzz. Craig. Loving this club, Usher? You got it.
Starting point is 01:14:18 Well done. Good song. We're getting the floor wiped right now. All right. Number 20. Is that? No. Once more.
Starting point is 01:14:28 I'm not embarrassed myself if I say it. Buzz? Fuck it buzz. Hi, it's. That wasn't, here comes the sun by the Beatles, was it? No. We can't hear it again, I guess.
Starting point is 01:14:38 Can play it again? Do it again. Do it again. I don't know what that is. That one is Mariah Carey. Always be my baby. I'm a little disappointed night that you guys know
Starting point is 01:14:49 the Mariah Carey one. But that's okay. That was a tough one. I'm not even sure I know that song. Oh, you do. I don't know that song. You do, pal. All right.
Starting point is 01:14:56 21. Oh, Buzz. Hi, Fitz. Despacito, Beber, and Luis Fonzie. Yeah. Daddy Yankee. Can I get five points to make this closer for all the earth?
Starting point is 01:15:08 No. You're going to have to really kill it. This is the next one. I don't think you can do it. It's right now 21 to 11 Craig. Oh, God. It's a wrap. I feel like you guys are going to be mad at me for this next one, but my generation will get it.
Starting point is 01:15:19 All right. Number 22. I don't know what this is, but it is a very distinct opening second. So neither you want to, I guess. I don't know. That one is sure shot by Beastie Boys. Yeah. We're into the home stretch here.
Starting point is 01:15:34 Craig has it sealed pretty much, but we'll do it for fun. Number 23. Buzz Craig Africa Toto Got it Number 24 Buzz
Starting point is 01:15:47 Craig Danger zone Yep Loggins Got it Loggins Loggins Help with a yacht rock
Starting point is 01:15:56 Doc That song is not Yacht Rock But he made it after the Yacht Rock era It's probably right there 82 Was it Top Gun 82 All right last one
Starting point is 01:16:07 Buzz. Craig? Regulate warringy. Got it. Also, that is in a Yacht Rock song. I know. Michael McDonald. The reason I did those last three
Starting point is 01:16:18 is the shouts to the Yacht Rock Dock, which is on HBO. It's awesome. Wow. Look at you. Synergy. Wow. I wanted to bring this up
Starting point is 01:16:26 because when we were watching this, we got a sneak peek at it a couple weeks ago. And Hyphitz in the wild had the realization that Regulate was a sample from Michael McDonald. And it was fantasy. I had no idea. I had no idea either.
Starting point is 01:16:38 I couldn't believe that. Are you serious? I didn't know that either. Regulate was yacht rock. That was pretty mind-blowing. Anyway, good job. Craig won. Craig dominated.
Starting point is 01:16:47 Yeah, that fucking sucked. I feel like I'm the giants. I want to hear, what was the one where we were super, oh no, I guess it was vanilla ice. That is, also I didn't realize party rock anthem starts like that. That sounded like the middle of party rock anthem, but the part where he goes, I'm running through these hoes like Dre. Oh, I got this devil.
Starting point is 01:17:07 That part. DM us on Instagram if you want that playlist or emails at your fantasy football at jeeple.com. DK., do you think if I wrote the song Party Rock Anthem and I sent it to you and I was like, hey, I've been working on this for six months. What do you think of the song? And you were reading, I'm running through these hos like Drano. I got this devilish flow. Would you be like, Craig has on to something here?
Starting point is 01:17:30 This is brilliant. This could be big. Was it back to the future where they're like, hey, you got to hear this? You're not quite ready for it. All right, good job, guys. If it's just mad at me. I'm mad at you and I'm mad at myself. I wasn't going to just throw softballs up
Starting point is 01:17:46 for every single one of them, all right? Yeah, I'm going to go and listen. What was that song by the weekend? The Hills. The Hills. That song is genuinely very big, but I don't know if I would consider it a one second song. That's fair.
Starting point is 01:18:00 That's fine. But it's a big song. It has a distinctive opener. Also, go to the ringer.com. Great website. It's been totally redesigned. Go to the ringer. It looks beautiful.
Starting point is 01:18:11 And it's totally different. Go on your phone. Go on your whatever the hell you access the internet with. Carry your pigeon. I don't care. It looks absolutely gorgeous. So please go check that out. And there's a lot of other rankings.
Starting point is 01:18:20 You can argue about there. Do I do the outshower? Is Craig won it? D.K., you're hosting now. What do we do here? You can have the hosting responsibilities back. I pissed you off too much. It took several minutes for me to just absolutely make Hafeits angry.
Starting point is 01:18:35 Look at him. I only had 500 emails from P. He's so mad. Just the fucking hills by the weekend. It's fine. Thank you, D.K., thank you, Craig. Thank you, Richter, for helping us make that real life. Thank you, Kai.
Starting point is 01:18:45 Thank you, awesome. Thank you, everyone. Emails to ring your fancy football at gmail.com for, uh, what should I do about this DM situation? Email us about, um, emails for the, the playlist and not DK's playlist. That one we're going to burn. But the real one, the good one with the Lister segment, uh, lister emails. And then DM us on Instagram.
Starting point is 01:19:02 And also, uh, of course, thank you, Lord. Lauren. Thank you, The Weekend, whose famous song The Hills is really distinctive and awesome. Do you listen to that song? Do you like the song? I mean, I would recognize it, for sure. Was it in the playlist? No, no one, as far as I know, nobody recommended that song.
Starting point is 01:19:22 Is that correct? D.K., you should check that. I went and looked at the weekend, and I think the other songs didn't have like a fast enough start, I want to say. No one, no one. But that's the thing is you went searching for the one seconds. We have a thousand recommendations of people who they've been vetted. Okay. Do you really want to do this right now, Hyfitz?
Starting point is 01:19:42 You told me this morning when I was on deadline to make a playlist. So I fucking did it. All right? Get off my back. I said I'm mad at myself too. You got your ass handed to you on this. I did. I lost by a lot. I was not prepped on those songs either.
Starting point is 01:19:58 If it makes you feel better, if the four songs you picked that sucked, I had won all of them. I still would have lost. So I don't think it matters. It does make me feel better, in fact, that you're being a whiny little bitch. I'm just upset. Can't feel my face by the weekend was my favorite. You guys are super competitive.
Starting point is 01:20:14 This is for fun, guys. We're having fun. I am having fun. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. You guys didn't get Genuine by Pony right? Like, several days after we talked about it. Pony by Genuine, not Genuine by Pony.
Starting point is 01:20:26 That sounds like Genuine arrived by Pony. Like Red Dead Redemption. Anyway, you're welcome. for making a playlist on the spot because High Fitz wanted to take part in this game. Hyfitz not getting the Dolly song was disappointing. That was crushing. I was crushed by that. I feel like you lost
Starting point is 01:20:44 probably the source of a lot of my anguish. Dolly Dolly went to Craig? I'll never get over there. Do you guys really not know Coolio? Oh, I did. I couldn't think of it. Hyfitts got close. Yeah, I got cool in the game. I reached into the cool, the people with cool and I reached to that bucket of names of my head.
Starting point is 01:21:02 My head went to L.L. Cool J. And I was like, I know that's not right. Yeah, I reached into the folder. I grabbed the road paper. That's a good one, no. Gangsters Paradise is a good one second. That is a very good one. It's also a sample.
Starting point is 01:21:14 Stevie Wonder, I think. Oh. There's a whole level of things of songs that, like, there's a certain generation that they don't know their samples of. Like, like, Sicko Mode. Like, I think a lot of people like, or like Sicko Mode probably, like, we're younger, like don't know that Sicko Mode is like,
Starting point is 01:21:27 I think it's like the most sample song ever, I think. It has the most writing credits ever. Oh, really? Because it's like... It like multiplies. It's like... an exponent. Like when you sample a song with a bunch of contributors
Starting point is 01:21:39 and that song was sampled. Yeah, it's three Travis Scott songs he put together and the three songs sample six songs and it's like mostly it's the biggie song. What's the one? It's about robbing people. People are going to scream at me for not getting this one either. It's like six. It's like he's sample seven songs and one of those songs
Starting point is 01:21:55 sampled other songs. So there's like 35 writing credits on Syncope mode. The next time we do this, I want to be the judge and I want to make the playlist. You're only allowed to pick songs that are easy, Craig. No, no, but I just want to, I just want my crack at it. Craig wants a break.
Starting point is 01:22:12 It's the first round by. I'm one, oh, and one. I'm open to it. I'm for it. I'm not as good at this as you guys. We'll see. You never know. I think we just found out.
Starting point is 01:22:20 I think this was the best, the best refereed song game that we've ever seen. Oh, it's amazing how you hateer of referees. Now you like referees now that you were a referee. I know. No, that's the irony right now is, that's the point. I'm making is that you, the lover of referees, are yelling at one right now because you didn't like the song choices. Yeah, well, you made the rules. I find you right. I did not make the wrong. That's true. You know who I miss? Remember DJ Earworm? Those were the best. I don't know what that is.
Starting point is 01:22:50 DJ Earworm was the, this is all I know about him. And if anybody knows more, I apologize. Every year he would come out with this, this massive, like, song that was a compilation of all of the best songs of the year smashed into one. It was huge. It was like Spotify wrapped, but not like in a personal. It was like you would wait for it in December and then the DJ your worm video would come out and it was like this like giant compliment. It was incredible. My favorite one I
Starting point is 01:23:12 believe is called Blame it on the pop. Yeah, that one's really. What happened to him? I don't know. D.K. You should listen to him. Like a girl talk type of deal where it's like a bunch of mashup samples. Yeah, I think. I don't know if it's a sample. It's just like he would just mix the songs together. Yeah, he's not
Starting point is 01:23:28 making like a new song. There's no original. music. It's just him combining everything. It's almost like a DJ. I mean, he's a DJ. It's called the United States of Pop. United States of Pop. Parentheses, blame it on the pop. Yeah, that was very good. If anyone knows what happened, DG. Your Honor, get us up. All right, goodbye, everyone.
