Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up everybody? It's Austin Rivers from the Minnesota Timberwolves. It's a new year and I have a new podcast here at the Ringer, Offguard, hosted by me and my guide, Pasha Higigi. Austin and I go way back and talk so much hoop already that we figure those time to fire up the mics and let you in on all of these conversations. Every week, Pasha and I will hit on the biggest stories happening in the league.
Starting point is 00:00:19 And get Austin's perspective of someone currently hooping in the NBA. Tap into Offguard every Friday on the Ringer NBA show feed on Spotify or wherever you get your podcast. My name is Danny Heifton. I am joined by Danny Kelly, Ben Sulloch, and Craig Holbeck. And this is our final episode before the NFL draft. Woo! Nice.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Round one's on Thursday. Round two and three are on Friday. Rounds four, five, six, and seven Saturday. We're going to have a recap of round one up late Thursday night, Friday morning, whatever. Our recap of round two and three is going to be up Friday night. We're going to have a recap of the entire draft after it ends on Saturday. and then unfortunately, our dear Ben Solek will depart. Not like die, but...
Starting point is 00:01:21 Bye. Maybe like someday. Yeah. Just drop a few 20, 24 draft takes on the end, on the final pod for end of day three. And then just gone. Never getting to follow up on them seven months later. We do have good news, though, even though Solek will be leaving us. After the draft, we will be changing this feed back to the ringer fantasy football show.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Airhorns. D.K., you're good at Airhorns. We will still Rankings RerRankings. We will have our rankings up at fantasyf football. com next week.
Starting point is 00:01:57 And then on this feed, wherever you listen to this right now, wherever it says the ringer NFL draft show, we're just going to change that to say ringer fantasy football show. But everything else is the same. Subscribe, follow whatever. Don't touch that dial.
Starting point is 00:02:09 I wish we still said that. I wish there were still dials. You're allowed to. I have a dial right here that controls how loud hyphets is. It's great. You got to turn that thing down. I mean, one man can, in fact, have that power.
Starting point is 00:02:22 So, yes, so DK, Craig and I, we'll be talking football, talking fantasy football every week, every week until training kit, except the week Craig gets married. I don't think he'll show up them. But other than that, we're going to be here every week. The rehearsal dinner. If we're doing RB tears on there. So fantasy football rankings, we're going to talk rookie landing spots.
Starting point is 00:02:40 We're going to go over our top 10. Maybe we'll mess around to our top 20 players next week. all that's coming. So if you have been listening to this and you don't know who the hell we are, but you like draft, stick around because I think we do things differently. Sometimes we even know what we're talking about.
Starting point is 00:02:54 And if you've enjoyed this ride, stick with us or not. I don't know. I can't really make you, but I highly recommend you stick with us. Okay. We also have somehow convinced Fandul to let us make our own contest for the draft.
Starting point is 00:03:06 So many plugs today. A lot of plugs. It's like, plug. As D.K. said, like, Orlando Brown Jr.' tweet today.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Oh, nice. Check that out. Look that up. Yeah, look that up, people. Google that on your own time. Fandall.com slash ringer draft. We just made a multiple choice test for the draft. And it's free to enter and you can just make $10,000.
Starting point is 00:03:28 So that's cool. You can. I can. Others can attempt. I will. Wow. I just submitted my entry. We're locked in.
Starting point is 00:03:34 You just did it? Just throwing down a gauntlet. It'll be in the bio of this pod, the pod description. Click at and fill it out. Not the best color man in the link for nothing, folks. It's easy. You just beat the other 30,000 people. You just got to go and you got to fill it out.
Starting point is 00:03:55 That's what you do. Is it Levitt? But actually, though, it is in the description of the question. What else? Metal Draft. We're just going to do plugs for 15 minutes and sign off. We have a shitload of content, man. Have you seen the Ringer, NFL draft guide?
Starting point is 00:04:15 NFL Draftouther.com? Let's go through every tab. Yeah. I mean, that's basically what we're doing today. We're going to do the mock draft. But to go first, we'll watch the metal draft, which is the most unhinged draft content you'll ever find. And I promise you that's true.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Can you give a logline of what the metal draft is? So the metal draft, it doesn't make any sense. It's hard to explain it. Well, it's a log line, so you're failing. What's a log line? I've never heard of that term. It's like the one sentence description of a movie. Oh.
Starting point is 00:04:44 It started out as a commercial for the draft done in Monster Truck. voice. Okay. And then it somehow turned into, there's a demon in my hard drive. And he helps me do them. He helps me preview the draft. And it's Chris Ryan, just being insane. In like five years, that's going to be a Blumhouse movie.
Starting point is 00:05:05 We did like a Matrix storyline for a year. AI storyline this year. And then this year we're talking about chat GPT taking over for everything. Nice. I mean, it's really one of those things you just have to see. Leadership. Leadership. You got to watch it.
Starting point is 00:05:21 It's funny. Where can people find that? I don't know. The link. You're going to go YouTube.com slash Q, capital W3, 4Z. That's everything we wanted? What do you want me to do? At Danny B. Kelly on Twitter at least.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Give him something. Ring your YouTube channel? Don't know the Tiny Earl. That tiny Earl. Google. Google. Go to YouTube. Go to YouTube.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Type in Ringer Metal Draft. It would be the first thing that shows up. at the ringer.com. There's a page for it. Go there too. Yeah. I'm pretty, what is our YouTube channel? YouTube.com slash the ringer. Go there. Get it together, guys. We should never try to plug anything
Starting point is 00:06:03 again on the spot. We're really good at marketing. We're going to start over the pod, right? Or how is that going to go? Are we going to keep that in? My God. Holy crap. All right. Let's just go on to the draft thing. Oh, my God. Oh, that was an ordeal. Okay. We're going to go through D.K.'s Mock draft, which, I mean, who knows where we can find
Starting point is 00:06:19 that, right? I mean, Google it. NFL draftoff derringer.com. DK's got a mock draft and we're going to go through and we're going to tell him where he's wrong and we're going to just, I don't know, kind of vibe out perfectly what's going to happen tomorrow. We're recording this Tuesday. Not tomorrow. Thursday.
Starting point is 00:06:34 Recording this Tuesday. You're hearing it Wednesday. Yeah, I just want to know, like, I feel like there's been so much buzz in the last three days. Things trending in one direction, things that we thought were locks are now don't seem like locks. I just kind of want to like parse through, especially in this top five to ten here.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Like, where's everybody's head at right now? I'm pretty sure Bryce Young is going to be the first pick. Although... Okay, great. Here we go. Today, there was a Reddit user. There were Reddit hijinks. Reddit shenanigans.
Starting point is 00:07:03 Yeah, Reddit user something, something, whatever. Said that he talked to Will Levis. Yeah, he and Will & Boyce. Levis is telling his friends and family that the Panthers are choosing him. And so the odds shifted dramatically. Because of a Reddit post? Yeah, Craig, this is right up your alley. This is in my bag.
Starting point is 00:07:22 This is your sort of content. So Will Levis was plus 4,000, right? 40 to 1 to be the first overall pick. And then sale agreeable 2834 on Reddit. That's also the URL for Deke's metal draft. That's the tiny URL. Posted to R slash sports book, Will Levis is currently plus 4,000 to be the first overall pick.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Well, ladies and gentleman, one dude, he's telling friends and family, Carolina, will in fact take him on Thursday. You're welcome. this then got bet so aggressively by so many people on R.Slauhr's book that Levis got to like 4 to 1. Like he was 40 to 1. He got to 4 to 1. Like Bryce Young odds were plummeting.
Starting point is 00:08:02 At no point was this corroborated. It's just GameStop. Exactly. It was just volume. Now people went obviously to go click on the username of Sale agreeable 2-8-3-4 to see kind of what else he'd been up to. Sale-agreable. His only other post
Starting point is 00:08:19 which I think has since been deleted was him predicting that somebody was going to be the Joker and the new Batman movie and it was wrong some actor I never heard of so he's bona fide he's oh for one
Starting point is 00:08:34 he might be one for two well maybe that's a good thing because he's like maybe that's then he's only posting this because he's actually boys with Will Levis he doesn't make any other predictions because it's like I gotta take this to the people at at Reddit and let them make money
Starting point is 00:08:46 so it was R slash mark my words and it was four hours ago it's mark my words Barry Kegan Yeah well Barry Kagan is the next Joker Oh my words Barry Kegan is being replaced
Starting point is 00:08:58 As the Joker in the Batman part two He goes on to say look at his Instagram He's getting huge And focusing more and more on boxing So So this guy has knowledge He has inside knowledge of Will Levin And the Joker
Starting point is 00:09:11 The Batman movies I think we can actually Like triangulate who this guy is If he had like a thousand predictions I would feel worse about this. I think it's better that this is the only thing he's really posted about. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Well, so people have like... Sure. Yeah. I think this was also revealed in a discord like a month ago by some guy in the National Guard and then he was arrested. Yeah. We talked about that on the metal draft.
Starting point is 00:09:33 So he's still plus 450. We'll let us to go number one. Yes. This is a dramatic movement. It's also, in my estimation, fake. Completely erroneous. If I had to bet,
Starting point is 00:09:42 I would say that a large group of sports fighters with a lot of money somewhere want to bet on Bryce Young to be the first overall pick because he's going to be the first overall pick. What's the best way to do that? Pump and down. Get a bunch of people on Reddit
Starting point is 00:09:53 to take the price for Will Levis super far up, which inherently brings the price for Bryce Young super far down and then hammer Bryce Young. And you've seen some buyback, but not a lot yet. So maybe that doesn't have credence. Maybe it actually is Will Levis.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Maybe the whole draft is going to get for a total loop 48 hours out. But when's the latest we'll find out that Will Levis is actually the first pick? Like tomorrow morning, aka Wednesday morning? It's Thursday evening.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Really? At 5 p.m? The day of the 2018 NFL draft, Baker Mayfield was third and the odds to be the first overall pick. Oh, wow. Was it really the first? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:28 It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens. With that says, Bryce, yeah. It's Bryce. It's Bryce. I'm 99th. Okay, so we sort of know who number one is. I think, yeah, the more interesting question
Starting point is 00:10:39 is who's number two? And which team is going to be picking at number two? Who is number two? Who does number two work for? Who does number two? this feels suspiciously like a reference yeah yeah tough it feels suspiciously I put Will Anderson
Starting point is 00:10:57 as my placeholder for the number two pick for the Texans it sounds like at least some people in Houston really like him it does sound like from everything we've been hearing that they are split on CJ Stroud and or out on CJ Stroud completely and there's some chance that it could be that could be Will Levis here, but maybe they go the safe round
Starting point is 00:11:20 and just pick a defender. So I went with Will Anderson as kind of my safe pick. What do you think? Yeah, this is where D.K. and I split. D.K. thinks it's going to be Will Anderson. I think it's going to be Will Levis. Neither one of those options is Tyree Wilson,
Starting point is 00:11:32 who Tyree Wilson, the Edge Rock Shot of Texas Tech, has gotten huge action on sports books today, Tuesday as a recording. He's nearly become the favorite in some places. And then also none of that allows for trade down because any other team could come up to two and potentially make the pay. And the Texans are absolutely looking at offers talking to people about potentially moving down because their guy is Bryce Young and they lost out on their guy.
Starting point is 00:11:52 And so now they're trying to to scramble. You have to remember the Texans also have 12. And Peter Schrager, for example, was on McAvey today and was like, yeah, the Texans are taking Tyree Wilson, the edge out of Texas Techett 2. And Nick Casario thinks can get a quarterback around 12, which is just insanity to me. Hubris. If you have the second overall pick and you have a quarterback that you feel comfortable taking with 12 and you're going to pass on him at 10. two and expose him to nine picks. Several teams that need
Starting point is 00:12:19 quarterbacks? That's way, way, way, way. You had the first overall pick, lost it on multiple fourth downs from Lovie Smith. Shout out Lovie. Then you had Bryce Young at two trying to trade up to one to go get him, didn't get that done. And then it turns out the Panthers are just going to take C.J. Strouds.
Starting point is 00:12:35 You still had your guy at Bryce Young at two. And then, oh, no, it turns out the Panthers are taking Bryce Young. You've already lost so much in this draft. You went from having one for sure to being stuck at two without your guy. And you're going to take a Another risk and not to get a quarterback at two and wait until 12? I don't buy it. Doesn't this also.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Doesn't this also imply that they don't think anyone thinks he's good? Who's that? The Texans do not believe any other teams think Will Levis is good enough to take him in that gap. Well, which doesn't say a lot about Will Levis. I'm not sure. Like, I would find that very suspicious because the Colts have been very like, like there's been a ton of Colts Will Levis buzz, which could be strategic. Maybe they just want the Texans take Levis. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:13:13 But still, I like, I, I, like, I. I just, I would not play that way with the quarterback position. You're going to start calling up for trades. And you're trying to call up to get a guy. And then all of a sudden he's going to go. And then Richardson goes earlier than you thought. And the only guy left on the board is Head and Hooker at 10. All that being said, I have Will Levin.
Starting point is 00:13:27 And then you get Caleb Williams the year after and everything works out. Yeah. When the Giants were had the 2019 draft, they had the sixth pick and they all set another pick later. And it was people like, well, they're going to take Daniel Jones. Yeah, 17. And they're, well, they should wait to 17 because he'll be there. And it's like, look, I didn't like Daniel Jones as a prospect. But it's the craziest.
Starting point is 00:13:45 thing in the world to be like to, when you have to explain it to someone who doesn't follow football that much but likes football but doesn't follow the draft, you really sound nuts it is. It's like, well, this guy, they think, you know, other people don't think he's going to be the quarterback future, but this team does. But they're going to wait because, you know, everyone else thinks he sucks and they also don't think he's good, but then they're going to take him because he's the future. But like, we don't like him that much.
Starting point is 00:14:08 And it's like, if this was like a person that you were romantically interested in, you're like, well, I like you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. but I'm going to hang out with my friends for like a couple weeks and then like we'll go in a date like later. It doesn't make any sense. This is what happens in fantasy football drafting all the time, right? Where you're like, ooh, I really want to take a quarterback right now,
Starting point is 00:14:25 but what if I wait just one more round and squeeze in like another one? Try to get that value. It never works out. Two for one. No. And that's in like the sixth round of a fantasy draft. This is the second overall pick. Nick Asaero's been the GM of the Texans for a while now.
Starting point is 00:14:37 And the Texas have not won football games. He's got to do something. And I'm not sure Tyree Wilson qualifies as something. thing. Full disclosure, I've got the Texans taking Will Levis at 12, but I'm kind of just hedging here and hoping I get one out of two right. Right. 900%. Not a percent. Not a percent. Like they're either to take Will Anderson or Levis or it's going to be Tyree and I'm going to shit out. There's a will. Is it Tyree Wilson? Is it Will it? It will be a will. Hmm. Ah, there we go. Wait, I just, I have a question before we move on. What changed with Will Levis? Why is he now the favorite to go
Starting point is 00:15:09 number two overall in this draft? The narrative. Yeah. What was the narrative? Do you remember? Do you Remember the first, like, one of the first shows we did, and you were like, you're telling me, Will Levis is really going to go potentially over Bryce Young and C.J. Shrout. And I was like, not just yes, Craig. Like, absolutely yes. This is the guy for the league. Okay, he's going to go two, not one. But this is, this is the player that, that, that, that, to the league, to the NFL seems like the NFL quarterback. He's the prototype, right? It's not C.J. Stroud with the, oh, like, does he have the attitude that we want? Oh, what was his S2 score? Ohio State quarterback? It's not Anthony Richardson. Oh, he's raw. Oh, we got to be mobile quarterback. This is the tough. pocket passer leads a room, right? Great, like all the guys in Kentucky love him. Great prep. He's so good at getting ready. Like, he has, like, he has, like, all the, all the descriptors around him, right? All the all the all the trappings of being this top quarterback, when in reality, he's
Starting point is 00:16:00 probably not really that guy. So this is the sort of profile the NFL always falls for. But why is that the narrative now and why wasn't that a thing two months ago? It was a thing two months ago. It was just Anthony Richardson was running a 4-4th at the time. Yeah. We talked about this. We've talked about this.
Starting point is 00:16:16 We warned you. This is how the draft cycle works. Will Levis was like really high at the beginning. We got bored of them. We started talking about everything else. We started talking about Anthony Richardson. Didn't throw that great at the combine. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Oh, and like, all of those is a report that like, you know, he's too muscular and teams are worried about his veins. Can't throw left. Teams are worried about his veins. And then you get to April and it turns out the guy's been the guy. This is just like a traditional story arc. I mean, like, it's basically. just like if the draft were in February
Starting point is 00:16:44 versus March versus April it would just be a completely different top five It's literally like every movie has to have a conflict It just can't be like Sunny and Roses or whatever like the whole movie or else like who cares? Yeah it's like the couple gets together at the end of the movie except if the couple was terrible for each other
Starting point is 00:17:01 and they broke up and you didn't like either of them Good movie though. Craig I've literally heard like the big name like Mel Kiper and Todd McShay and they've been talking about how he's like too muscular And he needs to, like, tone it down. I mean, I get that.
Starting point is 00:17:14 He needs to do, like, yoga and stop lifting. Yeah. When he throws to the flats, like, am I charting? He's really bad at throwing to the flats. And it's because, like, you have to be, like, fluid. You have to make a loose athlete to, like, turn your body the whole way. He just gets tight because he's too jacked up. He's muscle-bound.
Starting point is 00:17:30 Too rocked up. Who's the best, like, super-jacked quarterback of all time? Me? None of the best guys, your burroses, your ratings, your mannings. None of them are jacked. We're in a new era. They were not jacked quarterbacks previously, just in general. You just didn't need to be jacked the quarterback.
Starting point is 00:17:49 Do you need to be now? No. I mean, look at, like, Drew Breeze. He's just like, he looks just like a guy. Okay. Andrew Luck wasn't, like, cut, but Andrew Luck was kind of muscular. Yeah, he was big. He had like a big frame.
Starting point is 00:18:02 But like, from lifting all those books. Tom Brady Combine photo, anyone? I know, right? I know. Yeah, Andrew Luck was a good jacked QB. Luck's got biceps. Luck had, like, Stanford. He had like the traps.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Yeah. I mean, even Josh Allen is big. He's not ripped. Yeah. Yes. There's no reason for Will Lovis to be ripped. It's unquestionable. Except that it's fucking awesome.
Starting point is 00:18:21 Is Jalen Hertz ripped? Yeah. Hertz squats 600. Hertz is a power left. He's kind of ripped. Yeah, exactly. But also like Hertz plays that way. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:29 Levis is top heavy. You know, we don't need traps. We don't need lats. And he's like more of a pocket passer. Like Hertz is obviously like incredibly dual threat. Like there's no just ripped pocket passers. I guess Dak Prescott. Yeah, he's kind of.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Remember Big Ben? My first thought was Big Ben. Ryan, Ryan Tannale, who is my Will Lavis cop, is decently bulky. Ryan Tannahill, Big, Google. I take that back. Like, I think you need over an 18% body fat
Starting point is 00:18:57 to play a quarterback in the pocket. Thicking up a bit. Yeah. Okay. Anyway, we digress. Third pick here. I was just saying, what are you guys want to do for the final 29 picks?
Starting point is 00:19:07 You want to rank it by, like, how ripped they are? What do you want to do here? Yeah, we can do RIT scale. Just ask me questions about this mock draft that you think. Why did you give Christian Gonzalez the quarterback of Oregon to the Cardinals at three? Because I think they're going to trade back. Okay. And so I'm trying to match players with teams.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Oh, I see. And I didn't want to have to, including trades, just gets too complicated. You didn't want to have to predict who trades up. Right. And so I gave Christian Gonzalez to the Cardinals. There is some indication that they really like. some of the pass rushers in this class. So if they stick and pick at three,
Starting point is 00:19:43 Tyree Wilson is like a great option. Will Anderson if he's still there, great option. But I don't, the reason I gave them Gonzalez is because I think they're going to try and trade back and Tyree's going to be gone. Will Anderson's going to be gone.
Starting point is 00:19:57 Maybe one of the corners is going to be gone. And so like if they trade back to 7, 8, 9, or wherever, not 9, but 7, 8, 11, then they'll have a chance at Christian Gonzalez. So that was why I paired them, him with the Cardinals, even though I don't think he's going to be the number three overall pick, actually. Guys have an announcement. I will do anything.
Starting point is 00:20:17 I would do horrific things to get a video of Jonathan Gannon, a.k. Kendall Roy, the Cardinals head coach, just doing anything on draft night? Like, that is the thing that's going to be must watch television. Any videos of Jonathan Gannon talking? If you have not seen the video from doing Rondell Moore where it sounds like satire where he's like, pew, pew, pew. Pugh, pooh, pooh, explosives, you're explosive. Like, he's just like, I can't wait for him to call Tyree Wilson and be like, Poo, pew, pew, pew, pew, pew, penetrate. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:20:48 L to the OG? I can't watch it. It's literally too painful. Okay, wait, I do have a question here. So you have the Texans and the Cardinals both not ending up with the quarterback at the 2-3 spot. If you had to pick a team, D.K. and Ben, to trade up to two or three and grab a quarterback, who do you think is trading up? The Titans?
Starting point is 00:21:08 have been getting some steam on that front. I think the Raiders could be sort of a secret team that trade up. I need you to pick one team. Same with Ben. Who is trading up to two or three to grab a quarterback? I'll say Raiders.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Patriots. Oh, yes. I love this. Yeah. There's word on the street. On Reddit? Rumorm Hill's churning. I think it is on Reddit at some point.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Yeah, but the ones are you guys say, acceptable sale or what is it? What was the sale? Yeah, sale agreeable, whatever I got I was. I think it is on Reddit, but there's been rumbling, So the past week or so
Starting point is 00:21:40 that the paths are trying to figure out what the trade-up price might look like. I love this. Okay, so the Patriots... Yeah. Patriots are going to trade up to number two, give up Mac and get whom. They're recasting the Batman movie.
Starting point is 00:21:52 I would guess... Bill Belichick is the Joker. Yeah. I would guess it will... No, Bill Belichick is the penguin. Let's be honest. Right. I would guess this Willis that they're moving up for.
Starting point is 00:22:01 Levis is the type for them. Levis is the one that makes sense. I don't think it would be Stroud. Richardson would be awesome. That's the Dark Horse. That's the Cam Newton. Bill Belichick wants a mobile quarterback sort of theory. That would be like Simmons's dream.
Starting point is 00:22:12 The Pat's also a really good position to trade up because at two of the Texans, I have three of the Cardinals and it's 70 of the Raiders, guess what all of those GMs have in common? They're from New England. Right. It's Nick Casario, Monty Austin Fort with the Cardinals, then Dave Ziegler with the Raiders. They're all patriots guys. And so those dudes all know each other, and they're going to have similar
Starting point is 00:22:28 boards, and they're going to be talking a lot, and they're going to be buddies. And so the Patriots, absolutely, are I think the Titans and the Patriots are the two big teams, I think are strong trade-up candidates. And if so Pat, you think, it's for Levis. What about the Titans? Who do you think it would be for? Richardson. That was the first thing that came to my mind, but yeah. But there also makes sense as the Stroud team because Rable went to Ohio State.
Starting point is 00:22:47 That's the only connection. I love that that shit matters. Yeah, he's a Brable. Yeah, he's a Buckeye. There we go. Do it like the Knicks. It's just like, we're just only doing people we know. That's the only people we want to play for our team. It's like, I know you. You're cool. D.K., Seahawks, you've got having taken Tyree Wilson, edge rusher from Texas Tech. Yeah, sure. I mean, yeah, that's good, yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:09 Cool. That's player available. Pretty much. I could see them trying to trade back in this spot, potentially. I could see them if Richardson's still there, going with Anthony, Anthony Richardson. And if Will Anderson somehow still there, I can see them picking him. But if, like, the other option here is Jalen Carter at number five. I was, as far I was going to ask.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Where are you out on Seahawks, Jaylon Carter? I lean that they're not going to, but the Seahawks are, you know, a wild card every year. It's just so hard to predict what they're going to do. But based on everything that they've been saying lately, and especially when they're talking about last year's class, I want to say I heard Jim Nagy of the Senior Bowl, who is very well connected to the Seahawks because he worked for the Seahawks forever. Jim.
Starting point is 00:23:50 He was saying something along the lines of like the Seahawks are really focusing and like really, it's really important for them in the draft to like have football character. And so there's some question marks about Jalen Carter. Yeah. Offs the field. Obviously, I don't know anything of that firsthand, but like the whispers are that they had to push.
Starting point is 00:24:08 them in practice and all that stuff. So that maybe doesn't fit exactly what they're looking for from the fifth overall pick. They want guys with football character. In other words, guys that love football are going to dedicate their life to football, want to play football, are in it for the reasons. Like they love football rather than like the money and all that stuff. Like that's what they really focus on. They want guys with grit.
Starting point is 00:24:29 And so for those reasons, like I'm a little bit hesitant to put Carter in that spot. We also glossed over the fourth pick there. We got lost in the QB shuffle at picks two and three. You do have Anthony Richardson at four going to the Colts. Yeah. Which I think is, I think it would be great fit for them. I think it would make a lot of sense. Shane Steichen coming from the Eagles.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Go birds. I think he could put together a scheme and a system that works. Obviously, he's not the same person. He's not the same player as Jaylon Hertz. But like the development. The development plan that they put together for Hertz, I think, would work really well for Richardson. And so obviously, Seichen has some experience with that. making him a big hard of the run game,
Starting point is 00:25:10 you know, start to build some support around him, maybe trade for a big name receiver like DeAndre Hopkins or whoever, and then go from there. I'm saying it right now. Anthony Richardson's going to be a Hall of Famer. I love it. Yes. This isn't the take purge.
Starting point is 00:25:23 That was on Monday. That's a real thing. Yes. Okay. That's hot. I, dude, it's, I've decided that this person's. He's Richardson pilled. Three weeks ago was like,
Starting point is 00:25:35 you only like Anthony Richardson because he missed on Josh Allen. And now, today's the fourth draft, it's like, guess it's going to be a hall of favor. When I meet you, I meant me. Oh, okay, good, good, good, good. I mean, it's the highest ceiling pick, right? Like, if anyone's going to be...
Starting point is 00:25:49 I think so. Yeah. A generational player, Tim. I would say one of the outstanding questions of the top ten overall, because we widened out a little bit, is, okay, Richardson's probably going to go very early. He's a very good, exciting quarterback prospects. We've seen a lot of projects go early recently, you know, quote-unquote project, but Josh Allen 7,
Starting point is 00:26:04 Traylant's at three. whom is still unknown. Like there's a lot of like, oh, the Coltsville like Will Levis. Oh, you know, Panthers like Bryce Young. There's a lot of Texans like Will Levis. There's some connections that are out there. Like, D.K. has Raiders Stroud a little bit later,
Starting point is 00:26:20 which I've seen Raiders Stroud connected in some places. You don't hear a lot of Team X likes Anthony Richardson. He goes to the Titans a lot because the Titans tend to draft really big people. Big Fask. And he's a big and he's a big guy. But besides that, like that's the whole whole connection. I'm pretty confident Richardson goes top 10. It's just hard to see him not.
Starting point is 00:26:39 Who exactly takes him is yet unclear. 36 hours out we still don't really know. Well, it was on Rusillo, like McShay and Daniel Jeremiah both were saying, I don't know who the Richardson team is. No one is saying they're into Richardson, which could either mean they're just hiding the fact that they love this guy, or maybe he's the guy who's going to fall more than anyone thinks because of the rawness factor,
Starting point is 00:27:03 the fact that he's only started 13 games, the fact that his stats, quite frankly, are terrible. All those things are a factor. And we did this last year with the quarterback class and then all the quarterbacks fell. That's like the, there's a seat of doubt in the back of my mind that, like, the NFL maybe just doesn't like Richardson as much as we've talked ourselves into liking Richardson. I really like Richardson. But there is a seat of doubt for me that he may fall a little bit. Or there's a thought that he may fall a little bit. I mean, when I talk to people who are just kind of like normal, casual college football fans and they hear that Anthony,
Starting point is 00:27:33 Richard and Mike. They're like, what the fuck he talking about? You're crazy. He sucks. Yeah. Like this is classic like draft media talking themselves into something because they had three months to twitle their thumbs about it. But like what are we doing here? That's a red flag to me because a lot of the times those people are right. You know what I mean? Like we watch college football. We're obsessed with college football. We know that this player's good. Like, you know, Roger Sherman talks about this all the time. It's like, we've seen this guy play for the last X amount of years. Like we know he's not good. We said it's only one year. I know. The college football people are suspended. because they're in purgatory or limbo or, I don't know, with parole. I don't know. A lot is happening to the college football people right now.
Starting point is 00:28:10 They're going through it. College football people were in on Baker, like Tua over Herbert, Baker over everybody. Lamar Jackson, but like that's a, Lamar Jackson, which is good, out on Josh Allen, which is bad. It's real mixed results for like college football performance, honestly. Be good at footballs over right. Stop cherry picking. You're right. That's correct.
Starting point is 00:28:31 Sometimes the NFL's right. sometimes traits matter. Sometimes like the development arc of players, like you have to pick the guy who you think is going to be great, not necessarily is already there. Craig just stares at me. I agree. Okay, that sounds good.
Starting point is 00:28:47 That's what D.K. saw on me when I was first getting started. No, that was actually when Craig was an intern, Bill was like, you know, I like this Craig Rolla Beck, but he's too rocked up. He's too vascular. I know. I really had to tone it down. Stop taking my beet root pills.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Got off to creatine. Yeah. How many pod prelop? producers are jacked. Bobby Wagner and I have been trying to start the bulking pod since we've been here. And we have yet to get the green light. Yeah. Is it called bulking season? Yeah. And the goal is for like Bobby to lose 15 and me to gain 15 and we talk about our journeys. I think it's awesome. That's in development with the SpongeBob recap pod. And we have Rosillo check in with us once a week as our consultant. It would be so good. I'm telling you. You bring on a guest only for that week. They have
Starting point is 00:29:34 trying to bulk or lose weight. They're that week's guess. That's it. Oh, that's good. They try different dietary trends. Yeah. There's a lot of ideas. Atkins.
Starting point is 00:29:42 Get Will Leves on? Yeah. Get Will Leves on? Banana appeals. Chris Ryan's listening to this somewhere. Like, why aren't we funding this? Fandle has somehow, I don't know why they trust us with this, but they just let us make a tournament.
Starting point is 00:30:00 And it's free. And you can win $10,000 in prizes. And just play with us. It's the ringers draft day pick them. It's on Vandle. Again, it is free. there's $10,000 in prizes. You make your picks in the first round, it's multiple choice.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Just go one through 10, and you just pick who you think it's going to go down. Again, we all agree, Bryce Young, number one. You know, if you're a fan of the Reddit, whatever Joker recast guy, you can go with Levis at one. You can pick one of the wills to go to. You just go through the top 10 picks. We have a few questions at the end as well. Multiple choice. Starting point is 00:31:10 It would actually be really funny if Solek 1. They rigged it. They'd be like, wait a minute. Can we do this? I'm like, Ben was that guy on Reddit? Wasn't he? I am sage.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Whatever. Sale. Why do you never know the name? Sale? What is it? Sale, what is it? Sale agreeable. Sale agreeable?
Starting point is 00:31:29 Maybe there's a weird meaning to that. That guy's getting a lot of run on this pod. So, D.K., you got the lines picking Devon Witherspoon from Illinois, the cornerback at six. And I think a lot of people have that. I know Solac is the loy. guy here and he's into that. But I think the key, though, for the top 10 contest,
Starting point is 00:31:43 he is the loins guy. So again, if you don't know, So lack actually broke the news. Yeah, let's rehash it. Well, I just, you know, just in case. A bunch of people were favoring my LMAO tweet in response to your loins tweet. A lot of people are favoring it. Kai Grady producer who's in the chat right now saying loins.
Starting point is 00:32:01 Just keeping it running, making sure his presence is known. All time moment. He's got to have something. Kai's not jacked. But the key, though, for this top 10 contest, you have the Raiders taking CJ Stroud and I'm curious how confident you are on that because I feel like Stroud is probably going to be
Starting point is 00:32:15 honestly the key to this top 10 contest. Seven. That's how confident. I don't know. Did you just say that because the Raiders are picking seventh? Not confident. No, I thought I was trying to think of a random number. I don't feel confidently that the Raiders are taking C.J.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Stroud. I didn't know who to give him to, honestly. Who's taking C.J. Stroud? Titans. Go back guys. Sure. All right. Yeah. I think the Texans are out on Stroud.
Starting point is 00:32:42 I think the Colts are out on Stroud. I think everybody else is still okay with it. And it's just a question of kind of how far as he fall and who else is available. But those are the teams that I would say aren't going to take him. Once it gets past five, which I mean the Seahawks still might. Who knows? Seahawks might.
Starting point is 00:32:54 But yeah. Once he gets past four, I should say then. I think that a team is going to like him. And if you like Stroud, you certainly like him enough to start drafting him outside of the top five. So I think he's going to know. Why do we think the Colts are out on Stroud? Do we think, is that something that we feel good about or is that sort of just reading the tea leaves? Tea leaves for me.
Starting point is 00:33:12 I think that Jim Ursa is quarterback mobility pilled. I think that, like, if you heard him the way he talked about Sam Allinger when they went to start Sam Allenger, talking about mobility, talking about creating, I think that they went through like an unbelievable run of pocket statues. When you think of Jacoby Brissette into Philip Rivers, into Carson Wentz, into Matt Ryan, that's just an unbelievable lack of mobility. This is like the person who dates the complete opposite of the person. than before.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Right. Except in this instance, they dated the same person four times. Maybe I should change something up. It's time to make a switch. They haven't had a quarterback move off his spots.
Starting point is 00:33:45 He's somebody who's outdoorsy this time. Yeah. They're, Colts fans are going to see Anthony Richardson run and be like, what is Apple? What sport are we watching? So I don't,
Starting point is 00:33:55 so there's some of that. And then also, there was, like, when that whole cycle of like, oh, teams don't really like Stroud was happening a couple weeks ago, there were, there was talk that like,
Starting point is 00:34:05 Strouds meet with the Colts was really not good and kind of soured them on them. So I don't think Stroud is a cold star yet. Have we talked about on the pot about the Stroud S2 test thing? A little bit. Not too much. We've mentioned it. What's your guys's gauge on that? How much do you give a shit? Can you explain what the hell an S2 test is?
Starting point is 00:34:21 It's a replacement wonder lick test. Something I heard about for the first time several weeks ago. It's a 50-sons test. It's a 50-question replacement wonderlick test. It's not an intelligence test, first off, off-the-bat. It's not like the wonder-lick. it is something that tests like processing and reaction time
Starting point is 00:34:40 and maybe vision, spatial awareness, things like that. It sounds like if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. A little bit. Boiled down. It just patches a hula hand. By the way, Calvin carries around two wrenches now. Like his thing is,
Starting point is 00:34:54 are they toy wrenches or real wrenches? Real wrenches. Your three-year-old son carries wrenches. What size? Constantly thinking about the what not and bolts are taking apart. Is he a 5-16? He's got one.
Starting point is 00:35:05 One small wrench, I don't know the size of it off the top of my head. And then one big enough to hurt if you get hit in the head with it, wrench. I think any wrench is big enough to hurt if you get hit in the head. They're hard. Are you not worried for your balls? No, I am worried, yeah. He's right at ball height. Why don't you take the wrenches from your son?
Starting point is 00:35:22 I'm more worried he's just going to whack me in the head with it because he's, you know, he's all over the place. So the ass two constant tests. So this is a test that it scores you on, like, on processing speed and like motor. control and like your your reaction to stimuli and it's instinctive learning is another category. There's a bunch of like really quick tests on a screen. They'll show you like pictures and something will be missing. There'll be a bunch of different objects moving around. You have to track them as best you can. There's a bunch of like how are you processing and retaining information tests. So up to this point right now, we're good. Like that's cool and good.
Starting point is 00:35:55 And they've been given the S2 test to quarterbacks for a long time and they're giving them to high schoolers like it's been around. Now here's where things start to go to the Twilight Zone. Firstly, after you take the S2 test, you just end up with a score. The price took out a 98%. She just ran reportedly got an 18%. So firstly, now we're just ending on like a score from 0 to 100. That's like, this is how good this guy is at processing.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Which already now is a little bit fundamentally an issue. That's number one. Number two, apparently the reporting on scores is not accurate. Right. The founder of the S2 test went on McAfee and was like, there are numbers out there right now that are not the numbers that these guys got. So secondly, it's just being like kind of leaked in like a mess. Thirdly, Brock Purdy did good?
Starting point is 00:36:33 And so now the league's like, this is it. We got to do this. We can solve quarterback evaluations if we just give them this test with the little screen and they click it and then they get a number and that's who the good guys are. Everything comes back to Brock Purdy. The cult of Brock Purdy. The one thing I'll add to that, the S2, I think it was on the athletic I read it. It was saying something along the lines of the S2 score overall is not that meaningful.
Starting point is 00:36:58 It's like what you scored in each individual component. Right, which isn't being publicized. for us. Right. And so like at the end of the day, we get this number, spit it out at us. And what are we supposed to do with this? We don't even know what the fucking test is. We don't know what the implications are for the quarterback position in general. And so therefore, this is not useful to me. Finishing out the top 10 here, stop me, whichever one you want to talk about. You have the Falcons taking Bejohn Robinson running back. We'd not say that. Out of Texas. Bejohn. And then at nine, you have the bears taken Jalen Carter.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Yep. Nice little pick there. And then the Eagles, you have taken Nolan Smith out of Georgia at the edge. Yep. I feel good about, so the one thing I would say about the Jalen Carter pick is I think the Eagles could be the team that goes up and gets Jalen Carter. I agree. Jump over the Bears. Because what I've heard is the bears like Jalen Carter.
Starting point is 00:37:51 And I've also heard the Eagles like Nolan Smith. But I think they probably, they seem like a team. And I think Lance Zerling brought this up on a pod recently on the Establish Thornton pod that, the Eagles might feel comfortable taking Jalen Carter because they already have Jordan Davis on the team to Kobe Dean, his former teammates, who are both like mentor figures to him. Go dogs.
Starting point is 00:38:11 And so that would be like a great fit for him in terms of a landing spot where he's going to, you know, have his friends and have his former teammates there and like good mentorship and leadership. Don't you just love when your entire team can draft the national championship defense of the 2021, 2021, Georgia Bulldogs? Imagine having, dude, Jalen Carter and Jordan
Starting point is 00:38:31 Davis on the same defensive line is absolutely Kobe Dean behind it, I just, I'm trying to picture what it would look like. I'm just trying to imagine what level of dominance. Go get me Keely Ringo at 30, baby. We're beat in Alabama. And you have, so, Bajon at 8, though, you know what's funny is I feel like, you know,
Starting point is 00:38:47 the narrative for the last half of many years has been like, don't you have to running back early. And yet every year there's always like one running back that everyone's like, yeah, yeah, but this one's special though. You know? Yeah. I feel like we're going to do the same thing next year. Yeah. Every year. Oh, no, yeah. Running back to top 10.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Ridiculous. Bejohn's good, though. Who's a good back next year? Well, he can catch passes. Right, right. There's the deal. He can catch passes. So I think that you're on the money here, D.K.
Starting point is 00:39:10 I agree. I think the Eagles and Falcons might flip, and the Eagles might jump the Bears for Jalen Carter, and then the Falcons will just take Bejan Robinson. The only questions is you're doing a 8 of 10. Exactly. I'm trying to match team with players, so I could see the Falcons trading back and then getting Bejon.
Starting point is 00:39:24 That's a great fit. Bejan on Atlanta would be awesome. Bejohn. Big fella. On a team of big fellas. Can catch passes. The Titans are here at 11, and if you're matching team with the guy, so you have, I think almost we have to talk about these together. You have the Titans taking Jackson Smith and Jigbo, Ohio State receiver, and then the Texans taking Will Leves from Kentucky.
Starting point is 00:39:42 And I think we have to talk about these together because you're trying to match a team with player. And the Texans are in this weird thing we discussed earlier of, well, they might trade up for Levis. And we don't know what they're going to do. Maybe they take an edge at two and then they trade back up for Levis. I think overall, though, what we're talking about just with the quarterback thing is that we have brought. Rice Young, probably to the Panthers. The Texans seem in on Will Levis. The cult's probably taking a quarterback like Anthony Richardson.
Starting point is 00:40:07 And the Titans are now the odd man out in the AFC South. So it's like the Jaguars would have Trevor Lawrence. The Texans might have Willeves. You would have the cults take Anthony Richardson. Now the Titans are just kind of, you know, what? They have Ryan Tannell in the last year of his deal and Malik Willis, who Mike Rable hates. So the Titans are, if they do something like Jackson Smith and Jigba,
Starting point is 00:40:26 I'm wondering if they kind of trade for Trey Lance in tandem with that. That would be fun. Like a second rounder for Tray Lance. I like that idea. I mean, I'm rooting for a Tray Lance trade on draft night just because it would be fun. And I want to see him play. And he might not play if he's on the 49ers. So that's a big reason I'm rooting for this.
Starting point is 00:40:43 But what was the connection there? Yeah, the GM came from San Francisco. I knew that there was a connection. Yes, okay. And then also when he got hired by San Francisco, Traylans put the picture of his name's Rancarthe, put him on the Instagram story with three, not one, not two, but three, fingers crossed emojis. So don't.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Okay. So I'm rooting for this officially. But the only thing is I think that the Titans might be the guy that the team that goes up gets drowned if it's not the Raiders. So I, but we'll see. I mean, this is to me, like if we just take a step back, this conversation, this draft is wild. We don't know almost anything at this point.
Starting point is 00:41:20 Usually we know like a few or have a good feeling about a few picks. Devon Witherspoon to the Lions, baby. I know one. You know that? I know six. All right. I know 17. Who picked 17?
Starting point is 00:41:31 Stealers. An offensive tackle for sure. Nice. We're good. I got everything. I got it. No, it's a very, if this than that. It's going to be a great draft to live bet for those of you that can live bet.
Starting point is 00:41:42 Inclined. Yes. It's going to be a great draft to live bet. Because there's a lot of if this than that. Okay, Will Anderson here, then Tyree Wilson there, and then Devonwood has been Christian Gonzalez. But absolutely 100% unequivocally, it is going to be weird overall. Like, in terms of overunders, and then in terms of who gets.
Starting point is 00:41:59 in the first round. You go look, like, go look at the Fandul's odds to be a first round pick. How many people, like how many times we said Matthew Burge
Starting point is 00:42:05 are on on this podcast? Any? Is this the first? He's like 50-50 to go on the first round. Really? Yeah. Collaja Can't see
Starting point is 00:42:12 is like a massive favorite to go in the first round. The only time we ever brought him up on the show is to be like, how is this guy playing? He's short arms. He's a game and reached the top shelf. So it's,
Starting point is 00:42:21 it is, it is a very, very challenging draft to figure out who those last 10 picks are, who those first 10 picks are in terms of the order for the first 10 and then who the last 10 are. The middle 10, Deonti Banks, Miles Murphy, Jackson, and Jake, but we're good. That group, clear, but top 10 and bottom 10, extremely confusing.
Starting point is 00:42:40 Next up here, we have the Packers. We got, now it's time, gentlemen. Packers and the Jets swapped. They finally did the Aaron Rogers thing, kind of. And Packers, among other, so the Packers sent Rogers to the Jets. They flip first rounders, so the Jets are now picking at 15. and the Packers are picking of 13. The Jets also sent the Packers
Starting point is 00:43:03 the second rounder this year and a first rounder next year, sorry, a second rounder next year that as long as Rogers plays like two-thirds of snaps for the Jets the season becomes a first rounder. So they really sent them two first with better branding. So before we even get into these picks, quick thoughts,
Starting point is 00:43:21 I actually think, I think two things are true. I think the Jets overpaid. And if they had, they probably could have just not put better conditions on that pick. I think it's a little crazy to leave yourself liable to Rogers retiring after one year and getting screwed. However, having said that, I also think the Jets are a legit Super Bowl contender
Starting point is 00:43:38 as long as they gel by like December. And none of the Jets fans I know give a shit about the pick they sent as long as the Jets are actually a Super Bowl contender for the first time in their lifetime. Well, it's Bill's rule, right? What does Bill say? Like in the NBA, when you trade for a superstar, if it makes you a title contender, it's worth it.
Starting point is 00:43:55 And it's what the Suns did with Kevin Durant. He's like, I don't care. what you gave up. Like, you're now one of the top three most favorite teams to win the title. And I kind of agree. I think the Jets fans are pretty stoked. I feel like everyone else is bad move, except the Jets fans themselves are like, we're over the moon. We have Aaron Rogers for a year
Starting point is 00:44:10 or two. What else can we want? Look at the quarterbacks we've had. Sheal gave this take on Ringer NFL show, and I kind of disagreed. The way I framed it was, okay, you go with Rogers, you go to the divisional round. You play a really tough, tight game. Rogers plays extremely well, but you lose to the Chiefs. Rogers retires next year. You feeling good? You're like, whoo.
Starting point is 00:44:28 Now you don't have a first round. No, I think that you have to operate as if they have gotten some indication from Rogers that he'll play for two years. Because I think the Jets giving up on the- You think Rogers is going to give that? I think that I don't know if you can take him at his word, but I think that you have to have the... Look, if he retires, I agree so like they're screwed. But if you get the two years, I think that all the stats, all the APA per play, I don't give a shit. Rogers had a broken thumb last year and Devante Adams was gone.
Starting point is 00:44:54 I don't care that he didn't look great. Like he won the back-to-pack MVP. I don't know. I look at this trade and I'm like, I think the Packers will win in the long term. I also think George Love will be good. There's a world where the Packers are better than the Jets this season. I also think there's a world where as long as the Jets make the playoffs, no one actually wants to see Aaron Rogers in the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:45:12 If the Jets go 13 and four and are like a two or three seat, it's all worth it, in my opinion. Yes, until you lose to the Chiefs in the divisional round. Well, at least you're there. But who cares? What can you ask for? These people haven't had hope. I grew up in New York. These people are so sad.
Starting point is 00:45:28 You have to understand that these people are so sad. They're all listening. They're not. I'm saying this with love. You have to understand that in New York Sports, traditionally, Jets fans are also Mets fans.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Like, do you know what that does to a person? And they're also Knicks fans. Like, do you have any idea what that's like? This is a franchise that picked Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson. They just got Aaron Rogers.
Starting point is 00:45:51 Jesus Christ. Would you really think about that? Man. That's tough. Mark Sanchez? Yeah, that too. Went to back-to-back conference championship games and nobody was happy. He was young.
Starting point is 00:46:02 He was a young Rex Ryan. We have positive energy. Nobody was happy. You have you have a 4-year-old Aaron Rogers. People were going to be happy? No, that was the glory days for Jets Fins. That's literally the only good two seasons, Jets Vins have seen. And the FAR season, actually, ironically.
Starting point is 00:46:15 I think it was a good deal and they overpaid. But like, no one will remember if it works out. And for these picks, D.K., you have Miles Murphy, the Clemson Pass rush? I actually disagree here. I kind of think they're going to go offense and it's going to seem like a troll of Rogers but it's also strategically going to be like,
Starting point is 00:46:32 yeah, we're going to build around Jordan Love. And I actually, I wonder if they take it. Everyone's assuming they get a pass catcher here or like you have an edge rusher here. I almost wonder if they get a tackle to replace David Bacciari.
Starting point is 00:46:43 But I don't know. I mean, I've mocked tackles to them several times in this process. I would have given him Jackson Simpson and the Jigba if he was on the board, but he was not. I don't know if there's another receiver
Starting point is 00:46:54 were taking at 13. And therefore, I did what I see the Packers do every year, which is just not listen to their fans whatsoever and just take a defensive player. If they take a defensive player, then they'll have 10 first round picks on defense. Right?
Starting point is 00:47:12 Total? I'll double check the math, but still, it would be incredible. I would love it. Well, the only first round pick, the only offensive player they've taken in the first round in 12 years was Jordan Love. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:22 Oh, interesting. Yeah. I mean, I'm not saying that they can't, they won't take an offensive player. I think it's certainly possible, but with Smith and Jigba off the board, I don't know if they'll take a tight end at 13. I think he'd be more like,
Starting point is 00:47:33 do they have a second round pick? They'd be more like a second round option for them. The Packers? Yeah, they just got one from the Jets. There you go. Yeah, the Elijah Moore pick. There we go. Maybe get like Sam Leporta in the second round.
Starting point is 00:47:45 Get a Sam Leport on the building. Maybe get Darnel Washington in the second round. Oh, Darnell. I actually that I like that one. Yeah. Kenny Clark, Devante Wyatt, Devondre Campbell, Quay Walker, Roshan Gary, Jire Alexander, Darnell Savage, Eric Jokes. One of the corners? Yeah. Yeah. That's eight. And so then, yeah, he would make nine.
Starting point is 00:48:02 And I'm probably missing somebody. But yeah, yeah, get another defensive player. One more first rounder. And Joe Barry's defense will be great. It's all going to gel. It's coalesce. Here we go. All right, D.K., you've got Patriots, Jets, Commander, Steelers here. The next four teams, Patriots, Jets, Commanders, Steelers. You've got four straight tackles. I know. I'm looking at this now. I'm like, this is probably not going to happen. but this is the part of the we have a rewatchfuls category called the the Anchorman Flute Time for a P-break
Starting point is 00:48:28 award. That's what this is. The tackles. Yeah, when you got four tackles, that's when you go take your P, go grab a slice of pizza. You actually have seven tackles in a row with four offense, then defense, offense, defense. There you go. Maybe it's to take a shit break then. This is just the trenches. Not on it for the defense of tackles? Not getting up for Brian Breezy?
Starting point is 00:48:44 No. I think actually, when I'm looking at my mock again, and I've already submitted this, it's hurting in, so I'm like, whatever. I'm washing my hands of it. I think there's probably, we're going to see tackles go a little earlier than this. So I'm probably going to end up wrong on this.
Starting point is 00:48:58 I was just trying to pair players with teams that have shown a lot of interest and said players. The Patriots have been very strongly connected to Broadrook Jones throughout this process. I think the Jets would like Peter Skoronsky, and that's why I've got him at 15. He's a lot like the guard they drafted out of USC. Elijah Vera Tucker.
Starting point is 00:49:16 Yeah, he's similar in that in the vein of he can play guard or tackle. very just fundamentally sound really good blocker just going to fall a little bit because he's got short arms but I can see the jet. He's plug and play for the jets this season which they need. Roger Jones is more of a project right and Peter Skronsky will play for the Jets
Starting point is 00:49:33 this year and be competent which they desperately need and that they have Rogers. Exactly. And then I've got at Washington I've got Paris Johnson. The intel that I'm getting these over the last few hours is Paris Johnson is going to go very high. So this one's probably not going to end up being right.
Starting point is 00:49:49 but yeah, I don't know, we'll see. How high are we talking? If someone were to say, you know, like top 10. Wager top 10 pick. Parrish Johnson? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:00 Cardinals. Parish Johnson's over under. Yeah, Cardinals have been connected to. Raiders, he's been connected to. His over under, I think got below 10. I think it got to 9 and a half. And then Skronskies is at 10 and a half. I think you're more likely to see two tackles in the top 10 than zero tackles in the top 10.
Starting point is 00:50:14 Yeah, if I'm the Jets, if the Eagles don't trade up for Jalen Carter, I'm calling the Eagles to trade up for Peter Scron. because I think the Jets need Scronsky that badly. Okay. The only other part I want to mention here is I think the Buccaneers are the drop dead backstop for C.J. Stroud. Because if you look at this. That's an interesting one, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:32 If you look at this and you kind of read the tea leaves here, Panthers take Bryce Young. If the Texans take Will Levis. And let's say now the Titans and Colts kind of want Anthony Richardson and just don't like Stroud. Like, you know, if these teams just for whatever reason, like Justin Fields fell, Mac Jones fell. Let's just say Ced Stroud Falls. let's just say the cults move up one spot
Starting point is 00:50:50 and get Anthony Richardson and so we go quarterback quarterback quarterback the Titans are just kind of like whatever let's say the Titans don't want they stick with Tannahill for a year or they just trade for Trey Lance Stroud falls I think that the bucks are the team are the lowest
Starting point is 00:51:04 that Stroud could drop and honestly I wouldn't be surprised at all. Do you think this would be a good landing spot for him because they have a couple good receivers I mean they have some opportunity to rebuild their offensive line would this be actually a pretty good landing spot for him do you think? No because I don't like Firen Left, which I don't like the way he coaches that offense.
Starting point is 00:51:21 It makes me very upset. All right. I was kind of leading you to say yes, but you just, no. Yeah. Well, I mean, they do in terms of past gaging weapons. Offensive line, they dealt with a ton of injuries. I don't think he can balance back and everything. I don't love the direction the coaching staff went.
Starting point is 00:51:34 I don't think they're going to do the necessary training wheels to bring along any rookie quarterback, no matter how comfortable, how developed that player is. Hyatt has said that the backstop for Cedishishy's drawn 19 to the Bucks. I would guess it's 16 to Washington. Washington is the team that, to me, like, if I have any quarterback that starts to make it down that way, I'm like, all right. But they don't even have an owner right now.
Starting point is 00:51:57 I mean, you can do whatever you want. And CJ Stroud, pretty good. You can't talk to me. You don't own the team yet. Yeah, yeah. The other thing is, once we start to get into this range, we're entering Henden Hooker Range, and we're also entering Vikings are now in trade-up range,
Starting point is 00:52:14 which Vikings in trade-up range is like... Oh, for like a Stroud, he falls. Yeah. Strzob or Hooker. Right. I'm saying. Like, I think that once we start to get into these teens, then you're looking at like
Starting point is 00:52:23 the lion's second pick and the Vikings. They might trade up for Hooker. Oh, yeah. Wow. Yeah. It's, uh... Interesting. I mean, they like him.
Starting point is 00:52:33 And they want to draft him. What is she funny? Okay. She's always around. I don't, look, I like it more than, I like it more than Solek, but... Wait, hold on. Hendon Hooker's at the draft? What's he doing there?
Starting point is 00:52:46 Stage manager? You're doing crafty? Bringing the food? Can't knock her over. Can't knock her over. She does this little thing with an egg in her mouth. She squirts the mayo and she's like, That might be the best line in the whole show.
Starting point is 00:53:07 It's such a good scene. It's so good. He can't remember who she is. All right. But when they wrote that, what about this mayo egg bed? They were like, is this too far? No, fuck it.
Starting point is 00:53:17 Put it in. Oh, my God. Michael Sarah kills it. You've met her several. She's right over there. Huh. Oh, she's here. Huh.
Starting point is 00:53:26 Just confused. She was in the car with us on the way here. There's no more believable father-son combo on television that Jason David in Michael Sarah. It's perfect. They leave her in Mexico. Let me just forget it. Oh, my God. So I had 17.
Starting point is 00:53:45 Yeah, so I didn't hook her anyway. Yeah, yeah. I would just, yeah, a lot of tackles in the, you know, let's get to the 20s. There's a just montage through the 14 through the 20 or whatever. Trenches. Oh, montage. All these teams need tackles and quarterbacks. Okay, we're going to know the 20s here. I apologize to Mrs. Solek and my mom and people are listening, but there's no other way to say this for me.
Starting point is 00:54:09 But we have the Chargers at 20, 21, however you want to count because the Dolphins try to get Tom Brady and lost their pick. See, the charges, the Ravens, the Vikings, the Jaguars, and the Giants. And I refer to the stretch as just the Giants' cockblock section. Because all of these teams need the same fucking things. Like they all just need wide receivers and cornerbacks. And I guess a pass rush or two. But they all just need the same stuff. The charges are the slowest receiver group in the NFL and one of their cornerbacks just randomly retired.
Starting point is 00:54:42 The Ravens, like Lamar apparently was like, give me. Hopkins and Odell and talk to me later. Like the Vikings just have Justin Jefferson and nobody. The Jaguars have, don't have one receiver, I think, over 200 pounds and like no cornerbacks. The Giants have like six slot receivers. They're all the
Starting point is 00:54:59 same. And so I feel like, I don't, D.K., you have the Chargers taking safe flowers from Boston College receiver. You got the Ravens taking Lucas Vendez from Iowa. I think that's smart. The Vikings taking Deonti Banks from Maryland. He's a cornerback. The Jaguars taking Brian Branch. He's like safety cornerback. Slots.
Starting point is 00:55:15 corner, nickel, whatever, defensive back from Alabama. And I just kind of hate you a little because you texted me earlier today. So with the Giants think of Manuel Forbes, flat Stanley, the 160-whatever pound cornerback from Mississippi State. And I'm like, is this really it? The Giants are going to get the dregs?
Starting point is 00:55:30 The Giants are going to just be at the... Dude. Like, the last one to take a cornerback in the round. But all the good receivers are gone, all the good cornerbacks. And I'm like, this... It feels like Giants have the 25th pick in a first round with like 24 first rounders. This is how the draft works. the players get worse as the draft goes on.
Starting point is 00:55:47 I know, but it just is annoying. No, I'm not mad at you. I'm mad that you're right in that the Giants are just last. Everyone after the Giants are really good teams, the good rosters who can take whatever. The Giants are literally the last team and five teams in a row that need a receivers and cornerbacks. I don't know how it's going to go.
Starting point is 00:56:03 Interesting thing to come from somebody who in the season was like, Giants are making the playoffs. Tides meet the Vikings. This is so fun. Reeping and sewing. Me, sewing. Me, reeling. Well, well, well, if it isn't the consequences of my own actions.
Starting point is 00:56:18 Here with the 25th overall pick and not that good of a roster. And $40 million should Daniel Jones. Here's the deal. Hyphids, let me hype you up about this a little. Emmanuel Forbes is tiny, but... Okay, hot stuff. He's also incredibly instinctive, and he anticipates really, really well. He had, he literally set the NCAA record for pick sixes.
Starting point is 00:56:40 He had six pick sixes in his career. Okay, that's good. By the way, the Giants had six interceptions all of last year, which was tied for dead last in the NFL. They need turnovers. They need takeaways. They need someone who's going to anticipate a throw and take it to the house. And honestly, taking the pick six thing doesn't really matter.
Starting point is 00:56:59 Just the fact that he's anticipating passes, jumping into passing lanes. It doesn't, I don't think it matters as much as, or it shouldn't, it's not going to matter to NFL teams as much that he's 166 pounds. It's more just the instincts. His anticipation, his knowledge of, like, playing routes and anticipating where the routes are going and anticipating where the quarterback's going to go. This guy is getting gassed up.
Starting point is 00:57:22 I originally had him out of the first round, and I came back and I was like, I need to put him in there somewhere because he's like a lock for the first round at this point. It feels like. Hi, how does it make you feel that you've seen me? We've hung out in person several times. Craig, shut up.
Starting point is 00:57:37 He weighs 25 pounds less than me. Jesus Christ. He weighs... Shut it. He weighs... He weighs four more pounds than I do. Jesus. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:57:47 That's so... That's ridiculous. But he's also like six inches taller. How tall is he? Six foot. One. Sorry, not six. Like four.
Starting point is 00:57:57 No, I'm five seven. Oh, okay. Sorry. Sorry. Yeah, he'll just stand sideways. Quarterbacks won't see him. Yeah, that's how he gets the big six. Yeah, he just stands sideways.
Starting point is 00:58:05 Right. If he's in Newark, he'll have access. I'll connect him with a bunch of Jewish grandmothers. And with all these small players coming in the NFL, we're gonna put some meat on his bones. There's a podcast I know
Starting point is 00:58:16 about that he could get a spot on. Yeah. Perhaps season one. I do have good news for you. It's booking season. He might just not be there. Like,
Starting point is 00:58:25 you might not be able to draft Emmanuel Forbes. You might be drafting the next best cornerback after Emmanuel Forbes. I don't know if that's good news for you or not. But yeah, I mean, he could go, like D.K said, like I think he's definitely
Starting point is 00:58:35 a first rounder. I think he goes super early. It's hard to fit all the corners. right first round like Witherspoon Gonzalez for sure and then traditionally we've always just put Deontay Banks and Joy Porter Jr. out of Maryland and Penn State respectively above Emmanuel Forbes
Starting point is 00:58:49 I'm not sure that's how it actually shakes out on Thursday I still think all five of them go and I also think Brian Branch goes we're starting to get reach critical mass on defensive backs here in the first round also I feel like every every single mock draft DK has put out for the last two months has had Zayflowers going to the Chargers it's such a good
Starting point is 00:59:05 no that's not true yeah but it's definitely a connection I've made multiple times Yeah. It's perfect. That's exactly what they need. All right. So Zouzae Flowers feels like a lock. Should I bet that?
Starting point is 00:59:17 I think there's a solid chance, but like the Addison stuff is definitely there too. But receiver, I should bet Chargers receiver. I do think the charges are receiver a corner. I would say I'd be surprised if they take Tideon. I think those are the two spots for them. Because, right, as High was brought up, Nassir Adderley, who was like a nickel safety corner for them, he retires. And then J.C. Jackson, who was their big signing of corner, was not good, and then got majorly hurt. And so they're very, very weak
Starting point is 00:59:41 at corner right now. Those are the two spots for me on them. The Ravens, I have it's brought up with the Giants being behind these guys. The Ravens are also wide receiver corner edge a little bit. Jaguars are corner and edge. Yeah, that's the run right there. And then, yeah, you get to the actual good teams after the Giants. I almost gave the Vikings
Starting point is 00:59:57 a receiver. That, it is just either. I can't stop giving the Vikings Joy Porter Jr. Oh, it's electric. Just Brian Flores with a 34 and a half inch arm press man corner. Mm-mm. Mm-mm. I They have no corners. None. Pat Pete, gone.
Starting point is 01:00:13 Can't buy them. Gone. Chris Boyd. Gone. Cam Dancer, gone. Everybody who played for them last year. Out the building. Just like this team drafts a corner every year, yet they have no corners. Mac Alexander. The other one. Jeff Gladdeny, which that wasn't good. It was Trey Wayne's Vikings.
Starting point is 01:00:29 I think Trey Wains was Vikings. Yeah, a lot of corners. I'm going out of order here. But you have the Cowboys taking Michael Mayer, the Notre Dame guy at the tight end. And then you have the Bengals taking Dalkin Cade. tied in from Utah. I think these are the two most fun picks in your entire mock draft.
Starting point is 01:00:42 And if these actually happen, they would be incredible. Oh, it would be so much fun. Number one with mayor, he would, he's just a more dynamic version, and both Kim and Kincaid,
Starting point is 01:00:52 either one of those, if they get picked out there with the, with the Cowboys, I would love that, because they're both just a little bit more dynamic and versatile and just ship really a lot better
Starting point is 01:01:01 than Dalton Schultz. And so I think they get, they get dropped into a situation where they could get a lot of volume right away. With the Bengals, it's again, it's just this offense is fun. They pass the ball over the yard. They're going to be a high-scoring team.
Starting point is 01:01:13 Joe Burroughs awesome. He likes to kind of spread the ball out, find his open man. And I think Kincaid fits that perfectly with what he wants to do there. So that would be a lot of fun for me. Like, he'd be essentially taking over for Tyler Boyd in the long term.
Starting point is 01:01:27 I love the end of the first round because it's like all these great teams just like... Getting better. Yeah, doubling up on positions. Like, you don't really need. It's like, oh, you have the bills taking Jordan Asson.
Starting point is 01:01:35 Like, fuck, yeah, that's awesome. The fucking Eagles have two first round fix. Like, they need two first round fix. like they need two first round picks. Come on. I don't know if you heard, but go birds. You also have Jordan Addison to the Bills, which kind of feels perfect.
Starting point is 01:01:47 I could see that one happening. I don't know. They just, to me, like, when I look at the Bills and I think back to last year, they feel a player short on offense. Yeah, they just need more, like the electricity on offense. They need to help Josh Allen more. And I don't really want them to take a running back
Starting point is 01:02:04 in the first round, although they've been sort of connected to that. I'd rather have them taking them take another receiver to like just make things easier on Josh Allen. They're going to take a right tackle. Rat tackle? Who is? Okay. Grab Matthew Bergeron. Big Bergeron. Really? You think Bergeron might be a first rounder, huh? Yeah. Interesting. Hey him over DeWan Jones.
Starting point is 01:02:20 Jones's. Burgeron is good. I like him. There's talk that he could be a guard. Like teams might seem as a guard. Yeah. This was meant to just like a joke like the bill is not going to take a sexy player. We could talk Burgeron if you want to. Sure. I'm a big Burgeonon guy. Do people want to know about Burgeon? Good film. Good film on Matthew.
Starting point is 01:02:36 Canadian. Yeah. speaks French. Mother tongue. Started eight games at right tackle, third one games left tackle. You can't I can do this all day. Harrison Burjohn was a great
Starting point is 01:02:45 Kurt Vonnegut short story. Also how they recommend that. Oh, okay. Okay, where do we go? Sengue time, Mike Fitz. Come on. Saints. Speaking of the French. Nice.
Starting point is 01:03:00 He's so happy. Speaking of the Florida elite, okay. You have the Saints-Sik and Key and White from Georgia Tech. You have the Eagles-Sick and Joy. Junior. And then, my God. And I love the Chiefs taking, all right,
Starting point is 01:03:12 Felix and Adukee Osama from Kansas State. He's edge rushers, quarterbacks, edge rushers filling out the back of the first round. Again, this is just kind of like
Starting point is 01:03:20 where the rich get richer. Also, out of respect for the 32nd player taken in this draft to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who do you think is going to be the 32nd pick? Who is taking round one for you?
Starting point is 01:03:32 What did you say? Who the Steelers taking round one? They took the tackle. Darnel right. Yeah, who do we want to give them? What do they need? They need corners. Cornerback. They would take a cornerback. I think there's plenty. There's going to be a few corners.
Starting point is 01:03:44 Keely Ringo, DJ Turner. They'd like Clark Phillips out of Utah. He's instinctive. He'll tackle, even though he's a little small. He's kind of like a Cam Smith. He could be a nickel. He could be a Cam Smith out of South Carolina. He's a little bit thinner, but they'd be fine with them. Do you think they would go for a guy like Julius Brent,
Starting point is 01:03:59 Ju-Ju Brent's from Kansas State, tall? Oh, do it, doing Artie Burns? Yeah. Just go straight for athleticism again and completely with. Oh, yeah. I could actually see them liking Tyreek Stevenson out of Miami. That's early for Stevenson. That's early for Stevenson.
Starting point is 01:04:14 So does that kind of draft? Reds makes sense. Brents makes sense. D.K., I want to ask you why you staked your claim to no Quentin Johnson in the first round, the receiver to TCU, and one of the like three receivers in this draft that are large and fast. I don't know. I didn't stake my claim to it. There's like five guys in that I really wanted to get into the first round.
Starting point is 01:04:31 So it would be Quentin Johnston, who I originally had going in the first round. and then I took him out. Producer Kai went to TCU just said, worst take ever, frogs by 90, which is funny because he was at the national championship game where the frogs actually almost lost by 90 points. And also,
Starting point is 01:04:49 now that Kai's brought this on himself, Kai actually managed to watch, not only did he watch Georgia rain on TCU, but Kai indoors in, was at SoFi Stadium, actually managed to get rained on because there's holes from the side of the building. So he's literally indoors being rained on.
Starting point is 01:05:04 Kai, don't worry. The Steelers will take Quentin Johnson and he'll be a Hall of Fame. Oh my God. You know who I commented him to, Craig? Martavis Bryant. Yep. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:12 The goat. I can see that. Quinn Johnson out around one is something I think is going to happen. You think he's not going to go around one. I do. Yeah, which I just, the league's been too quiet on him.
Starting point is 01:05:22 And there's not a ton of wide receiver need. Like, obviously, bills, maybe, Chiefs maybe. But I haven't seen those teams really super connected with him. So I'd be surprised. Figuring out who gets, like I said,
Starting point is 01:05:34 the back 10 is really hard. Yeah. Like when I went to list first round locks this year, I got a weirdly high member. I listed 20. Yeah, we did 20 earlier on the pod. I had 22 players that were first round of locks out of 31 picks. Which usually I have like 14, 15. Right.
Starting point is 01:05:48 Right. But Bryce Young, Will Levese, CJ Strangley, Anthony Richardson, B. John Robinson, Jackson, Michael Mayer, Peter Scranti, Parris, Johnson, Broder Jones, Darnell Wright, Will Anderson, Tyree Wilson, Nolan, Smith, Lucas Van Ness, Miles, Murphy, Jalen Carter, Devin, Devin, DeVosan, William, Biante, Banks, Brian Branch. It's 22. There's only nine picks left. I didn't like that poem as much.
Starting point is 01:06:04 I like the first one. The poem sucked. It's really hard to get everybody else in. There's only nine spots left, man. There's going to be some weird fallers. Here's the guy I had out of the... The guys I had out of the first round that I'm worried are going to be first rounders.
Starting point is 01:06:20 Osiris Torrance, the guard out of Florida. Collijah Cansey from Pitt, the defensive tackle. Quinn Johnson, as I said, Will McDonald from Iowa State. Yeah. Drew Sanders from Arkansas. And Jemir Gibbs has been getting, like, a lot of late hype as a first round pick.
Starting point is 01:06:38 So those are the guys I'm mainly worried about not having in there. Right. It's like you don't have Collaja Cancy making it. If you go on Fandall and you go NFL draft, right, to go to bet and you go to bet on to be a first round pick, you cannot bet on Collagia Cancy because it's presumed he's so likely to make it
Starting point is 01:06:57 that his odds are not available. Really? Quentin Johnson is minus 450. Implied odds of like 85%. Wow. Yeah, and these are guys that you're like, all right, I don't think we make it. That's how tricky this is, right? By the way, like, Hennon Hooker is a favorite to go.
Starting point is 01:07:10 Brian Breezy is a favorite to go. Jimir Gibbs is a favorite to go, Osir's favorites to go. It's so hard. There's only 31 picks. It's so difficult. So they have like, they have Atatamiwa adabare, who you have going 20. They have him as an underdog, Keon White, same thing, right? So that's where you lose some of these.
Starting point is 01:07:26 I had him going to the Seahawks. Atatamawa, Atabare. Wait. Yeah. Atatamiwa adabare, who's going to be the third. overall pick of the Philadelphia Eagles. Here's why I think he's going to be first round pick, even though Dodds are not for that.
Starting point is 01:07:40 He's 282 pounds and he ran a 4-4. Any further questions? That's it. I rest my case. Literally, that's all. Those are the only things that matter. We're at minute 75. I was just going to have some emails.
Starting point is 01:07:53 Any of the draft takes? We're at the end of this three-month Odyssey. Are you guys exhausted? How do you feel? Oh, my God, yeah. You ready for this? So, like, I hit the Valley, like, last week. Now that it's like so close and like the rumors are flying and like if this then that and everything.
Starting point is 01:08:09 Now that it's close like you start to feel the excitement. I'm back. I'm on the upswing a little bit. Last week like people are like, do you want to come on the radio and talk about the Panthers at one? I'd like I would rather stare to brick wall for 20 minutes and think about nothing to do with Bryce Young to the Panthers or one overall. Well, I have some good news because we got some of absolutely incredible emails that have nothing to do with Bryce Young going number one overall. Hit me. So we're going to get incredible emails.
Starting point is 01:08:33 But first, NFLdraft. DK has his mock draft there. Boogboard team needs everything slugs quarterback sharding and draft grades will be up there the night of the first round so you can check out Deky's draft grades there. You can tell honestly he's an easy grader so your team
Starting point is 01:08:48 will do well in his draft grades so be honest he's not like given out C's. I'm positive I'm positive. You're like a substitute teacher grading worksheets. You better be giving out C's. I don't respect. I give out C's. I give out C's. Yeah yeah. You see draft grades grades all A's and Bs. Here's the problem. Compete. The people who get picked in the
Starting point is 01:09:04 top part of the first round are players that I have ranked highly. What are you going to do? I'm supposed to give him D for taking a player who's like eighth on my board? If the Texans take Will Levisit too, what grade are you giving? That one's like a C-minus. Okay. Hell yeah. Because I've got him like at 20-something.
Starting point is 01:09:20 Yeah. Okay. And again So I'll be ready to write that. Fendul.com slash ringer draft, baby. Check it out and steal $10,000 from Ben Slok. It'll be fun. Okay. I don't know. Incredible emails.
Starting point is 01:09:34 a couple people sent in some take purges of the road. Ooh, I like this. Good. Everett sends it to take purge. Brock Purdy, Brock Purdy should never play football again. Go out on top. Like he's injured. Everett's point is that if he were retired now, everyone would just imagine all the dad saying,
Starting point is 01:09:54 remember that rookie who was the last pick of the draft who just dominated for the 49ers and literally never lost until he got hurt in that playoff game? And they would have won the Super Bowl if he didn't get hurt. I think more pods will be done about Brock Purdy if he never plays Snapp of football than if he does play
Starting point is 01:10:07 a future Snapp of football who's a good comparison so like obviously I'm not saying this is going to happen but if Brock Purdy just completely shits the bed and starts to suck next year
Starting point is 01:10:20 who's like another comparison of like this happening previously like that everyone's really excited as like Mike White maybe like a flash in the pan out of nowhere yeah and then turned out they just weren't good at all Bailey Zapping
Starting point is 01:10:33 Matt Flynn Oh yeah That's a pretty good one He did get paid Yeah he got like 45 million dollars And then he lost the job to Russell Wilson Nick Foles Oh
Starting point is 01:10:45 Actually that's pretty good That's pretty close In the NFC championship game Foles won a Super Bowl It's not like two steps removed That's a pretty good one Four years $70 million dollars
Starting point is 01:10:54 The Jacksville Jaguars Healthy Good job Tanner Roden for Take Perge Tanner Tanner Tanner.
Starting point is 01:11:05 We should switch the names of offensive and defensive lines. The offensive line actually defends and the defensive line is actually on the offensive. You're correct, but absolutely not. That's a good question. That's fun, though. It's good, though. Like, well, what is the offensive line? Well, they just defend the quarterback.
Starting point is 01:11:23 That's it. I respect the idea. What did Clisbock's play? If they were called the- Everything. If they were called the offending and defending lines, then yes. But offensive is just a descriptive of. for what unit they play.
Starting point is 01:11:35 I don't accept. Everything's offensive these days. You know what I mean? The backlash to the backlash. The cancel lines. Colin running for a purge. I don't know if this is a take. Colin.
Starting point is 01:11:47 Oh, Colin. Basically, we all said in the take perj that you should eat fruit peel. I said this. You should eat fruit pills. I said, no. I knew this. I said you should eat fruit peels.
Starting point is 01:11:58 A lot of people email people email to say, don't eat fruit pills because the fruit peels. I love that people feel they need to email. I'm a dog. And please don't do that. Clarify to these suckers. Truck drivers, doctors, everyone who deals with fruit pills was like, so they basically absorb all the pesticides.
Starting point is 01:12:13 So if you eat them, you get huge doses of pesticides. And Willeves has probably been poisoning himself with the... Well, you got to go organic. You know, grow the nanners in your yard. Go full Shane Lee Woodley with it, you know? I'm eating backyard banana peels, that's for sure. What does she eat like a clay? Like the clay?
Starting point is 01:12:29 She eats clay. She eats clay. I cannot stress out quickly. I lost it. I was trying to figure out who the person he mentioned was. Shaly Woodley? That was Roger's former girlfriend who's an actress. Yes.
Starting point is 01:12:40 And she was in diversion. And then you said, doesn't she eat clay? And I was overwhelmed. I don't mean that in a bad. I don't mean that. I'm not saying she's dumb. A lot of copper.
Starting point is 01:12:49 She's eating paste. According to Woodley, this is from Google, the consumption of clay is good because your body does not absorb it and because it cleans heavy metals out of you. So it's like absorbing the bad, shitting bad.
Starting point is 01:13:03 I'm with it. Clay. That sounds true. That could be on Goop Lab. Yeah, she makes her own soap and toothpaste and like lives on a mountain. Yeah. Dinks out of a river. She's just living her own. I'll be there in about five years. She's living in a great life. You watch. Okay. I would like to say, we're going to keep going. I would like to say goodbye to Mrs. Solac and my mom, you guys can turn the podcast off. Bye mom. So goodbye to all the moms. Anyone listening with your children? Pause. Thank you for the support.
Starting point is 01:13:32 Thank you for the support. Come back for us with the drafts on because it's time for all the emails with one of our episodes last week when Craig said, and I quote, what are people fucking on these days? Incorrect. What are the kids fucking on? Ironious. I said, what are the kids
Starting point is 01:13:48 fucking on? In consecutive pods, Craig has said, what are the kids fucking on? And Roger Goodell has killed like seven people. Just Craig pitching gas. Lots of emails from people sex in weird places.
Starting point is 01:14:03 Oh, I can't wait. Matt, I'm from Rapid City, South Dakota. If you Google Rapid City, South Dakota, you'll find... What are they called? Rapid City, Matt. You know what I'm saying? We got a lot of those, too. They have an area called Dinosaur Park. The main attraction, there's a giant
Starting point is 01:14:19 Protasaurus on top of a hill that can be seen from all over the city. Pretty sure I've been to this place. Really? Yeah. Well, it's forever unclean. Where specifically? What'd you do that? I did not have sex on it, a rhinoceros. This was a long.
Starting point is 01:14:32 time ago. Spoiler. On Valentine's Day, my sophomore of high school, I took my girlfriend at the time on a date that culminated with us going up to Dinosaur Park after dark. Yeah. Despite it being February in a borderline tundra, teenage hormones got the best of us, and we did the dirty against the tail of the brontosaurus. Wow. So on dinosaurs, Craig. Prehistoric. That's pretty good. I'm not only, I'm interested in things like that and those are fun, but I also want to know about... Not saying don't send those?
Starting point is 01:15:04 Those are good. Those are good. Weird places you have sex in public. Always interesting. But I also want to know, I want to know what people are throwing on the bed. You know? I want, you know, there's the $20 bills,
Starting point is 01:15:18 the John Morant. I want to know if people are... If there's anything else people are putting on the bed. It's not what they're on in terms of, like, drugs. No, no, no. It's what they're literally physically laying on. Yes. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 01:15:31 You know, like, has anyone ever had sex on, like, a bunch of sandwiches? What? What do you think is happening? I'm just saying. Like the Costanza eating a sandwich midway through the... I don't know. I bet it's happened. Speaking of laying on, we have someone who begged me not to say their name.
Starting point is 01:15:47 So, um, begged. Jeff. No, it's not Jeff. God. In college, I met up with someone off Tinder and we proceeded to have sex outdoors in the forest. It was dark and we didn't notice we were on top of a large batch of poison. Oh. No.
Starting point is 01:16:04 Went to bed, woke up. Yeah. Woke up with Ivy Rash at all the places you would never want poison. Wow. That's all time bad. I had poison ivy on my eye this year. I thought that was the ultimate suffering. It is not.
Starting point is 01:16:19 Also, so much worse for her than him. Right. Yeah. Pretty tough across the board, though. Yeah. It's generally 99th percentile suffering. It's a matter of degrees when we get there. What about like an ant hill?
Starting point is 01:16:39 That'd be tough. That would be tough. You would notice earlier than the poison ivy. True. Probably. That's a good point. Yeah. We got, I mean, there's a bunch of it.
Starting point is 01:16:49 We got an email from Jake who says, you know, my girlfriend, I traveled across Russia by train in a 46-hour train ride from the middle of Siberia. I think I've seen a movie about this. Yeah. And he said, for contact. Texas second class cabin on trains and rushes like a small room with four beds in it. And we were sharing the cabin two strangers. So my girlfriend I did sex multiple times in second class and we had to make quick work, which was never an issue for your boy.
Starting point is 01:17:13 Nice. Normalized coming fast. The drafts in 36 hours. This is a last pre-draft show. The whole point of the bond. It culminates to like this week. that's the no we're going to end on. Oh.
Starting point is 01:17:36 Oh, no. Nice. Anyway, so I got an email from Frank. Frank. Frank, he was like, I'm an old man now. But he said, but I got the fucking back in the day. Wow. And I literally responded to Frank.
Starting point is 01:17:51 I said, I knew you were an old man because your name was Frank. And Frank said, bullet pointed list. Trampoline, pool float, floats, various structures in a playground, a dive, board, a mini golf back nine parentheses hole 12, and then every single set in a 97 Volkswagen Jenna. The diving board.
Starting point is 01:18:11 Yeah, I can't figure out which one of these is the hardest to believe. The pool floats. Those are some industrial strength. Good God. What are those things? Boiency. Holy smokes. The diving board is tough because like you're wobbling back and forth.
Starting point is 01:18:27 I guess that's just a story you could tell people about it. Hot take All these sound terrible I was just Go to a bed Minigolf back nine Frank
Starting point is 01:18:41 is not fucking in the public anymore Is this another thing Phones have ruined Yeah Oh because you just get caught on camera How do you do it at a mini golf course Was just nobody was there Or did they hide behind like a little
Starting point is 01:18:56 Castle structure There's like the the castle was like You letting everyone play through? I hate that clown That's good You're gonna die cloud Anyway
Starting point is 01:19:14 We got it What else we got anything else? You can't end on that Craig said more Normalize coming fast Okay well one more We got one from Tyler Which is not quite
Starting point is 01:19:27 In public thing but Tyler I almost drove off the road laughing last episode when Craig brought up dildo vapes. Because my wife's friend literally just... Another Craig banger. Makes sense.
Starting point is 01:19:39 My wife's friend literally just bought a vibrator vape last week. Oh my gosh. They exist? A vibrator vape exists? And they said the employer at the employee at the store, well, not at a traitor Joe level of enthusiasm, told my wife's friend that she had
Starting point is 01:19:56 one and no pun intended. got a contact high. Wow. I did not know that was a thing. I don't love it. You can't think of anything new. They thought of everything. They have it all.
Starting point is 01:20:15 Every market has been cornered. Wow. Good thing. The 12 people listening to the end of this pod. As long as one of them is not Solex mom, then like we're fine. I'm praying. My godfather texted me about a. pod the other day.
Starting point is 01:20:31 And I was like, I'm brother. I'm really hoping he's not listening on the draft. Every year we do this, I'm like, do you think they'll let us, like, do this with Solek again? I just pray that nobody listens this long. Like, Chris Ryan at minute 54 is like, all right, I'm done. They finish the draft stuff. Why is there 20 more minutes left? I have stuff to do.
Starting point is 01:20:50 I'll just do it on 2X. Normalize doing everything at 2X is really what we're saying. That's right. That's right. All right. That's all we got. Thank you for everyone for bearing with us through all the things where the draft had not happened. All our future episodes will be when the draft has happened.
Starting point is 01:21:11 Thursday night after round one, Friday night after the rounds two and three. And then Saturday with the whole draft wrapped up, got that coming for you. And then again, fantasy football, going back for being a fantasy football show, baby. Thank you, D.K. Thank you, Craig. Thank you, So lack, for being with us through the whole pre-draft season and this weekend. Thank you, Austin, for a lot of weird stuff that it's hard to even explain what happened before the show.
Starting point is 01:21:34 But Austin does a lot. He's on chairs. It's like, I don't know what's going on over there. Thank you, Kai, for producing the episode. Thank you to everyone who's stuck with us this far. My God. Wow. Thank you to everyone email this or ring your fantasy football at gmail.com.
Starting point is 01:21:46 And thank you, Lorne. Lord. Lord. Thank you, Madonna. I almost did hips, don't lie. No, no, no. Shakira. Are you a Madonna fan?
Starting point is 01:21:58 Like, musically? Early stuff. Yeah. Is there an alternative? Well, Madonna as a person right now is kind of in a weird place. I don't know the details, but yeah. She might be eating clay. Okay. Madonna, good actress back in the day.
Starting point is 01:22:18 Renaissance woman. A league of their own? Madonna? Yeah. Oh, my God. She's great. Madonna's also just a great name for an artist. That was a good thing.
Starting point is 01:22:26 And Madonna's her name, which kind of blew my mind. It is? Yeah, Madonna's her real name. Oh, I didn't know that. Her name is no way. Yeah. Isn't that fucking crazy? It's like Beyonce too.
Starting point is 01:22:35 You're like, damn. Okay. What's SEAL's name? I don't know. That's natural. The next question. Seals name is SEAL. That's what I thought.
Starting point is 01:22:46 Are you serious? Yeah. I don't want to say it with my chest. What's Prince's name? Kevin? No, his name's Prince Rogers and Nelson. So it's his name too. We got to go.
Starting point is 01:22:55 We got to go. Goodbye, everyone.
