Starting point is 00:00:30 Welcome into another edition of the Ringer NFL show, the Tuesday edition of this with the players. Ryan Shazir and James Jones, I am Jason Gough. And fellas, you know, we allowed it to happen when the Packers and the Steelers faced off. Or was it the Steelers and the Raiders when the fellas got after it? I guess it's my turn. You spin the dial and it lands on you. That game was a lot closer than it should have been. I think the Pittsburgh Steelers in their entire organization should be ashamed.
Starting point is 00:01:10 No, it was a good game if you're a Bears fan because you got a chance to see that Justin Fields is the real deal. Fellas, we've been saying this for the last couple weeks. Just think what would have happened if he would have got preseason reps with all his receivers. It's obviously a different connection that he has with Darnell Mooney as opposed to Alan Robinson, even though Alan Robinson was big in the game. You can't have 11, 12, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, he was in 5 or 6 of them to be. pre-snap and expect to go on the road and win a football game, especially when you're
Starting point is 00:01:38 under manned. That's how I saw it. I thought the Bears would play it close. I picked the Bears to win because I still think the Steelers got enough holes on their offense. But, Ryan, you know, you were at the game. Of course, you said you wanted the Steelers to win and Justin Fields to look good in the loss.
Starting point is 00:01:56 I think that happened, especially in the second half. But if you're still worrying as a Bears fan, if you got a quarterback or not, I think the foundation is there. Now, the Steelers side of things, you can speak toward a little bit more. You know, I'm not going to lie. I was at that game last night. You're talking about somebody that was going through some stress.
Starting point is 00:02:14 Oh, my gosh. First of all, at the game, I was with one of my friends, and he just wanted to walk all over the damn stadium. And B.C. with Ryan Shazzy? I don't blame him. I'm like, man, come on, man. So first of all, we were just walking all over the stadium.
Starting point is 00:02:29 The stadium's too damn big as and so. But, no, but just, I feel like Justin, I'm gonna start up, but I feel like Justin played well. I was kind of conflicted because at the day, that's my squad. You know, I love the Steelers, but I want to see Justin do well.
Starting point is 00:02:43 So it was kind of cool to see him do well, even though we still got four sacks on him, so I'm cool with that. But for him to, you know, come out and I was like, man, I want Justin to do well, but I don't want him to have no game winning drive and anything like that, you know? So I was like, but the game was way close
Starting point is 00:03:00 than it needed to be. We pretty much had the whole game for the first three, quarters when y'all got that momentum on that on that on that uh that punt for a touchdown that that changed the momentum of the game and the still is the still is towards the end of the game I feel like we stopped just trusted in what we are doing well in the beginning of the game like obviously nausea was helping us but it was creating opportunities for play action it was created opportunities for plays down the field or just a mediocre game and then the fourth quarter came and we just try to, you know, add a little bit more sauce to it,
Starting point is 00:03:37 and we're not that team. We can't be adding sauce to nothing. Just get back to what we do. No sauce added, please. No sauce added. I like my chicken parm regular. I don't need no extra sauce. I don't need no extra sauce.
Starting point is 00:03:53 But it really showed me a few things. With the Bears, you see that Justin's a good quarterback and that he's figuring things out. I think he's starting to learn Matt Nagy's system a little bit better, but at the end of the day, I still don't feel that Matt Nagy's system is the right fit for Justin. Because towards the end of the game in that fourth quarter, y'all was dicing up some good concepts that really allow y'all to expose our defense
Starting point is 00:04:20 and the players that were guarding, you know, somebody that was better than them, and you were exposing those type of guys. But I think it was a, the defense got to do a better job of holding off. But I think Justin looked at good in that loss for you guys. Yeah, the quick game. The quick game is where he thrived at, James. As I was watching that game, number one,
Starting point is 00:04:42 I felt like the Bears' defense played lights out all game long besides the last drive of the game where they really needed to stop Big Ben, made some throws and got them boys in the right plays and was picking up first downs to get them into that field goal. But I thought the defense was playing lights out. Justin Fields, as I was watching them last night, And I'm like, hey, man, Matt Nagy, do this, do that, do that.
Starting point is 00:05:04 And we've been saying it all year. You know, Matt Nagy, do this, do that. And last night when I was watching the game, that's not Mad Nagy offense. Matt Nagy offense is not built to move a guy. Matt Nagy's offense is built for a guy to stand up in the pocket and throw the football. Tom Brady type of guy. And last night when you seen Justin Fields have his best throws in the pocket. No, but they were in the pocket, but he was protected.
Starting point is 00:05:30 But with this old line, he's only protected one out of 10 dropout. You know what I'm saying? So they kind of got lucky on that drive to where he was protected for about four times. And he was like, boom, you see what I could do when I got a clean pocket and I'm protected back here? Like I could drop dimes. You know what I'm saying? But when they can't protect them, it's a problem. And I was screaming the same thing.
Starting point is 00:05:55 I'm always screaming, get them outside the pocket. But that's just not McNaggy's offense. You know, so Justin Fields, I was happy for him last night, man, even just to get that drive with a minute and 50-some seconds left and go down there and put a touchdown up on the board, you know, and look like he's supposed to look.
Starting point is 00:06:13 You know what I'm saying? Last night, if you're a Bears fan, you're like, okay, we're going to be a right. You know what I mean? For some years to come, we're going to be all right with this young fella under center. You know, whatever coach comes in there, you know, Mad Nagy State, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:06:26 but we are going to be all right from what we seen from the young fella last night because the way the defense played, the defense stepped out, you know, they made plays, you know, obviously penalties and all that, all that stuff. You know what I mean? Kind of messed the bears up,
Starting point is 00:06:41 especially that, you know, personal foul. Now, Ryan, he was in the building. Oh, my God. Right. What happened last night was supposed to happen. Whatever happened last night. Stop. Stop.
Starting point is 00:06:54 It was in the building, right? Let the boys play football. Tell the truth, right? No, no, so this is all I'm going to say. This all I'm going to say. What'd you mean? All you're going to say? You ain't going to be fine?
Starting point is 00:07:02 No, no, this is all I'm going to say. Like, I know. Hold on a real quick. I know you've seen the ref on the jumbo, child. Scoot his butt back. James, please point it out. Tony Carinty was when Steelers yellow and gold last. Come on.
Starting point is 00:07:19 When you had the game, you know, it's cool being in an environment, but sometimes you miss things. I ain't. Hey, no, but this is all I'm saying. This is all I'm saying. And James, you know exactly what I mean as a player. First of all, this whole season, I'm saying all this time is some BS. I don't feel like I feel like you should allow players to react and allow them to have emotion.
Starting point is 00:07:42 But the one thing about the NFL in every league that we're watching, they make rules and certain rules they put an emphasis on. And this year, they say they're putting the emphasis on time. So obviously the kicking ain't time You know To celebrate ain't tying Listen listen Hey this man shooting a lot of bail out here He's shooting a lot of bail
Starting point is 00:08:09 Hey for a minute I thought Roger Goodell Was on our podcast Trying to break this thing down I am coming to you And I'm coming to you as a defensive player And we know defensive players Play with more emotion than offensive players.
Starting point is 00:08:26 This boy just got a sack. He's celebrating. Against his old team. Fresh off the practice squad. I mean, he's still 20 yards away from y'all's sideline. And then he jogged back and the ref stick his butt out and then throw the flag as high as he possibly could throw the flag. Ryan, as a player, as a player, no, as a defensive player, Ryan,
Starting point is 00:08:51 that have sacked some quarterback. He sold his defensive guy. The emotion that goes into getting the sack ride and making a big play for your defense, tell me that call wasn't BS, man. No, no, so this is like the butt back thing that was BS, but he was already reaching for his flag. No, but the thing is for me, like,
Starting point is 00:09:09 when I made a big play, I celebrated with my squad. I celebrate with my squad, you know what I'm saying? Like, I never walked to the other team bench. You know what I'm saying? And some people walk to other people. Right, he's 25 yards away from the bench, man. No, but think about this, James, this man got a sack on the opposite hash. This man walked all the way across to the other, past the other.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Listen, listen, listen, I understand it, but you don't need it there. No, no, you don't need it. Don't let it, don't let it decide the game. You shouldn't let it decide the game, but at the day, James, you know this. And Jason, you know this. When you made a point of emphasis, like, you, bro, you got to understand this is what they're looking for. Like, when I play, I understand, oh, they're, looking for defense to hold it.
Starting point is 00:09:55 I can't touch this dude. Like, you know what I'm saying? You got to understand the rules. As a defensive player, as a defensive player, you're going to have emotion. But when I got a play, man, I got up, flexed or something and walked to the state, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:07 walked to the sideline. I might have one play when you see me, like, talking smack till somebody. Other than that, like, all my big plays, you see me celebrating with my squad. And I totally understand Cash and Marsh, that's bullshit. Like, I feel like the time is BS.
Starting point is 00:10:23 Like, I hate that rule. But in the day, like, man, the rule is a rule. No, I got you. I got you. The butt bump was BS, though. The butt bone was BS. I understand what everybody's saying. It wasn't no bear player right there that he stood over.
Starting point is 00:10:37 This man walked 20 yards towards the opposite bench. Even when the punter was running out, he wasn't even saying nothing to the punter. The punter was jogging like, okay, he got out to jogging. Like, there's no room. There's no reason for you to throw a taunt penalty. By the way, by the way, y'all punter can get a little bit more jogging in, by the way. Fax. Hey, James, if you're a ref and you're 25 yards away from somebody and he's walking towards the opposite bench.
Starting point is 00:11:04 He was like five yards away from where he's sack Big Beach. No, he wasn't. No, I literally watched it. Look, the hash is. I've been watching it all morning. He was like five yards away. The hash is about 13 yards away from each other anyway. And he walked from one hash to the other hash.
Starting point is 00:11:21 This is going to be like the Zabruder film, the JFK assassination hit. That's emotion, man. Listen, listen. No, it's maddie. It's maddie motion. I agree with both you. I understand what Ryan is saying. Like Coach Boone says, man, let the boys play, man.
Starting point is 00:11:36 Hey, Jason, Jason, he knows exactly what I'm about to say. Every coach tell you in every locker room, don't let the officials decide the game. Don't let the officials decide the game. They let the officials decide the game. To be honest what you're right there though, man, like I can't even be mad at Marsh. I can't be mad at him. No, I didn't either. He did a karate kick after getting a huge sack.
Starting point is 00:12:02 He was on the Steelers. He just got elevated off the practice. Like, it ain't up to Tony Corrante and his staff to know that that's happening in his life. I understand. Don't listen. Listen, I hate that it happened, but I understand if there's an emphasis. It's just, it's professional sports, man. And we're here for an entertainment.
Starting point is 00:12:22 You know, we're here for a game. It's Monday night football. It's one of the biggest stages on television. Like, this dude had a big moment. The Steelers is getting ready to get that thing up. It's just, look, the previous 10 penalties for 95 yards, that's why you got beat. Like, you can't have that kind of.
Starting point is 00:12:40 It's not, yeah, that's not the reason. People, like, that's the reason they got beat. It played a role. It's just one of the last things. That's all. That's all. All right. Yeah, I appreciate y'all making me feel better as a Bears fan.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Thank you, thank you, James, for arguing, you know, for your former NFC Central slash North, you know, comrades in the Chicago Bears. But we got to move on to teams that actually are going to the playoffs this year. Bigger surprise, fellas. And by the way, I wasn't shading the Pittsburgh Steelers there, Ryan, because I saw how you looked up. I saw how you look. And our record is the same as the bills right now.
Starting point is 00:13:18 So I got to ask you guys, biggest surprise or the biggest truth teller in this week between the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills both being upset, which one would it be for you? Who was the more real squad that we saw in those two upsets that kind of took everybody by surprise? I know mine. Y'all already know mine. Yeah, you've been hating on the bills since day one. How's it hating every time they present their stuff, they're showing who they are. Yeah, you've been talking about the strength of schedule for a minute.
Starting point is 00:13:50 I can get you that. I get you that. And the thing is, like, with the bills, is when they play somebody that show that, hey, I can slow you on your offense, they struggle. Like, they defense. He scored six points, man. Like, they struggles. Like, everybody's talking about the still is the offense bad, this and that.
Starting point is 00:14:08 They ain't never scored six. Like, they ain't scoring six. You know what I'm saying? Hey, it all, first off, first off, scoring six. man against the Jacksonville Jaguars it ain't six it ain't six against the Broncos defense it ain't it ain't six against a good defense it's six against the Jaguars man any given Sunday James Jones knock it off crazy man see this the thing though 47 throws in a close game I'm talking about Josh Allen oh yeah you're talking right there you go see there he go so but 47 throws in a close game man like at some point you got to hand that thing off.
Starting point is 00:14:48 I think I said that a little while ago. Zach Moss is a good running back. I said that a couple on a couple of these podcasts a little while ago. I said if the Buffalo Bills do not find a run game, they're not going far. And right now, and right now it's looking like them and the Patriots going to come down to this division crown. That's crazy. The way they're playing right now, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:15:09 But I mean, the way they looked out there, I mean, they couldn't move the ball on Jacksonville. Like you said, they couldn't run it. And Jacksonville knew that. So they was just pinning their ears back coming after Josh Allen. And the Buffalo Bills is saying, Josh Allen, one of these quarters, one of these plays, he going to make a heck of a throw to win this game. And it never happened. It never came.
Starting point is 00:15:28 But Buffalo just looked terrible. You know, when I watched the Cowboys, because I was sitting here watching the Cowboys game, it was self-inflicted. Yeah. No scoring, no points in the first three quarters of the game. But, I mean, it's dudes wide open, Dak just missing the throw. It's dudes wide open. Amari Cooper dropping the ball.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Like these is plays. Amari Cooper dropped one ball in the middle of the field. He's still be running right now. You know what I'm saying? So for me, it was just miscommunication by the Cowboys. It was, you know, and credit to the Broncos defense, they made plays. But I just feel like the Cowboys just missed their opportunities. I feel like Jacksonville just got after Buffalo.
Starting point is 00:16:06 They watched film and said, hey, Buffalo ain't good here, here, here. And we're going after this on the offensive side of the ball. And the defense pitch basically a shutout, man. It got after them boys. But the Cowboys, I feel like that stuff you go. Amari Cooper ain't going to drop balls like that. Dak ain't going to miss throws like that. You'll be all right.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Buffalo in trouble. They can't run the football. They cannot run the football. You're not just going to come out and out. And Ryan knows when you come to, when you come and play a team on the defensive side of the ball, Ryan, and you like, and you like, we could stop the run with our front four. You know what I'm saying? Our front.
Starting point is 00:16:42 Yes, it's over when. Now we can get to everything. We can play any coverage. You know what I'm saying? It's over for the office. So what's the remedy then? So like to me, like how you don't trade for like Marlon Mac? Marlon Mac is a nice running back.
Starting point is 00:16:56 And he like don't even play for the coach right now. Like how you don't try to get another, obviously it's too late for that. But like how you don't try to get somebody like that, Marlon Mac better than all their running backs right now. You know, obviously he was hurt, but he better than both of their runnerbacks. And to me, this is like this is what I was saying earlier. Yeah, people thought I was showing shade. Like, their striped their schedule is not really like that.
Starting point is 00:17:18 They play somebody that showed, hey, we can play defense. And their defense ain't like that. Like, if you really look at it, because, like, their defense held Jacksonville to nine points, but Jacksonville, like, Jacksonville, like, Jacksonville ain't out here scoring 30 points a game and that like that. Like, Jackson, you don't expect Jacksonville. Yeah, I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:17:37 You're right. Came home with the win, too, boy. You don't expect Jacksonville to be scoring 20, 25 points a game. Like you like, them's scoring nine points. That's not no surprise. But to me, when, when them boys play somebody that's solid, like, they can go out there like, hey, we're going to stop y'all, you're going to stop your offense.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Like, I don't feel like they, they don't, I don't feel like they know how to win an ugly game. How do y'all feel about Josh Allen then? Because Josh Allen had one of the historic seasons in terms of, like, you didn't see it coming and then it was 50 touchdowns combined. How do you, like, he doesn't, to me, he doesn't have to get any better. he could stay at the same level and be, you know,
Starting point is 00:18:15 a perennial pro bowl quarterback. But how do you guys feel not only that he's grown, but is he a guy that you win because of or is he a guy that you win with? I think he's a guy who wins because of. Yeah, I'm not thinking he a guy that you win with. Like, I feel like he's definitely a difference maker on their team. He can make all the throws.
Starting point is 00:18:36 He's athletic. He's sure he's willing to do the extra. To me, it's just when somebody show, hey, I have a good game plan, a good enough game plan to out, you know, out coach y'all so y'all can't just throw the ball all over the place on us. We can, we can compete. And if it's close and it's ugly, y'all not going to win, you know, and I think that's more of the situation there.
Starting point is 00:18:57 But I think Josh Allen is, I think he's a good enough quarterback. He's one of the top quarterbacks in the league. Yeah, and I 100% agree. I mean, he's a guy that you win because of. And we've seen him take over plenty of games, you know, with his legs, with his arms. I mean, we just seen him be that guy. But for me, just like Aaron Rogers, Aaron Rogers is the greatest I've ever seen, you know, just because not just because I played with him, you know, even when I left, just watching
Starting point is 00:19:22 the guy play, being on the other side, playing against the guy, like he's the greatest I've ever seen. You know what I mean? But when we did not have a run game, even with all our weapons out there, it was hard, man. It was hard to score points. And we came out of games with 12 points. And we came out of games not looking good on the offensive side of the ball because we didn't have a run game.
Starting point is 00:19:45 And it ain't even got to be a big time running game. Like you say, Zach Moss ain't a bad running back. You know, it don't even got to be a big time running game. You know what I mean? We had Ryan Grant who came in. We got him from the Giants. He came in. He bawled out.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Yeah, he bawled out. You know? Yeah, yeah. Then we drafted Eddie Lacey. He bawled out. You know what I mean? But at the end of the day, we still had all them weapons on the office, but it was just the threat of the run game.
Starting point is 00:20:10 They have to run the football if they want to get the best out of Josh Allen, period. You're not going to drop back 45 times a game and expect to win a Super Bowl. You can drop back 45 times a game and win a couple games. And Josh Allen take over a couple of these games and you get to the playoffs, but you're not going to win a Super Bowl. You know, that's the same thing that happened to us when we won the Super Bowl. We had no sign of a run game all season long. We had to win our last two games to get into the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:20:40 we got into the Super Bowl, James Starks got healthy. And we handed the ball off to him and we got a run game now. You know what I'm saying? And that's what helped us in the playoff. If they don't find a run game, it's going to be early exit for them in the playoffs. And Josh Allen may be,
Starting point is 00:20:54 and may be great and win one or two of those games, but you're not getting to a bowl game throwing it 45 times a game. You know who got a run game? Who's that? Some Pittsburgh Steelers. All right. Here he go. Here he go.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Yeah. I'm not even going to do this. Get Pits. Hey, the Packers got to run against. All right. All right. All right. And the Bears don't.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Y'all do got a ring game. Y'all do got a ring game. They don't run it, though. You get five yards of crack. Kaleel Herbert sitting in the back, like, I can't wait to be a pro bowl or some other team. You know what I mean? But, hey, what are you going to do?
Starting point is 00:21:36 Let me ask you guys a philosophical question before we move on in this week's slate of matchups is the short passing game being used as a run game something that at some point you just going to have to go back to the running game because a lot of people James like you just said would say and counteract that point of you don't need a run game too many people I hear now say the short passing game is the run game and obviously if you put the ball in the air a couple bad things to happen but with receivers not being touched too much off the line of scrimmage and you know slants being the soup de jour. Do you think that a short passing game can suffice a non-existent run game?
Starting point is 00:22:16 And is that what the bills have to do? No, no, no. A short passing game is the extension of a run game. That means we toting the rock, you know what I mean? And you adding an extra guy in the box to stop this run because you know we running it at you. And then we have the numbers out here to where we could get the ball out quick to our receivers and get another receiver or our titan out there on the block. we can make a play. It's just an extension of the run game. Like when we used, when we had,
Starting point is 00:22:45 we, we had quick passes and quick little, little game off of all of our run games, you know, but you're only throwing it if you get the right look. And that's if we're running the ball well and the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ryan say, hey, we got to drop another one down in the box, man, because, hey, we can't stop them with our front seven. We need a little bit more help. Roll this safety down up in there, you know, and then when Aaron hit them with that green 19 and see them roll and see them roll and get into what they getting in. And he say, okay, let me go ahead and throw this real quick one out here to Devante or throw this real quick one to Randall. But it's just an extension of the run game. But that extra person ain't coming in the box if you
Starting point is 00:23:20 can't run it. You know what I'm saying? So you ain't really going to have the look you want to get this quick game out if you can't run the ball. You always need to run the ball. And I'm a receiver saying that. When Eddie Lacey and Ryan Grant came in there, I'm like, man, we got to hand the ball off to these boys now, man. That's at least 20 passes taken away. You know what I mean? But at the end of the day, when I looked at the film, I'm like, oh, shoot, they play in as man to man now.
Starting point is 00:23:47 Oh, we're getting covered three now. They ain't just sitting in cover two to where it's extremely hard for a receiver to get open. Now they got to play it's a little different because, you know, they got to put an extra guy in the box and stop the run. So I'm like, okay, even though it's 20 extra runs, I'm getting man-to-man coverage 10 more times. I take that, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:24:04 That's around lead to league in touch. You got to run the rock, man. Axis still is last year. Axis still his last year. Yeah, yeah. Like that we did short pass game, that's our run. Towards the end of the year, everybody's like, yeah, no, like we cutting all that out. Like basically, you know, and this is what people feel to realize.
Starting point is 00:24:24 Like the short pass the game, it seemed like it's short and sweet. But if we know you can't run the ball, like you said, we're going to sit in cover two and take it away. You know what I'm saying? And we're going to take it away. And we had covered two, we got underneath, and you can't beat us over top. You know what I'm saying? So like you can't, so it's like you said, it's an extension. You can't use that as your one-all-be-all because at the day,
Starting point is 00:24:49 somebody can take that away from you very fast. And like I said, we are moving forward from the Steelers Bears game, I should say. But, man, make a fix Patrick. Like I knew he was good at Alabama, didn't watch any Dolphins games because who the hell was supposed to be watching Dolphins games out here? Miami fans didn't even watching Dolphins games. But that dude, you talk about maybe the top five players on the field last night, Mick and Fitzpatrick was definitely one of them.
Starting point is 00:25:12 That dude stopped more things from happening than you actually saw. Like when you go through the box score, you see tackles, TFL, sacks, interceptions, passes, defended. That man made an imprint on the game last night. He was deep high. They ran a lot of single high safety for a lot of that game. And to have to play center field and have the range that that dude has, like when the Steelers traded for him,
Starting point is 00:25:34 Everybody's like, oh, no, that's a lot for safety. Why would you do that? But, hey, man, you got three levels of stars, right? You got Cam, you got, of course, TJ who out here, looking like his brother, you know, minus 40 pounds. And then you got Minka Fitzpatrick on that back end. It's a nasty thing. So worried about the bills, not worried about the Cowboys.
Starting point is 00:25:55 We'll put that down in the notes as we move forward here in terms of expectations. A lot of people saying a lot of things about the Kansas City. Chiefs and it ain't only about their defense. A lot of people starting to question Pat Mahomes, not just as a decision making, but Nick Wright, who's a long, long time Kansas City Chiefs fan and doing great work over there at Fox Sports One said that right now Pat Mahomes is unrecognizable. Now that's a big statement to throw on a dude. What are you all seeing out of the Chiefs in Mahomes? Because we talked a lot about their defense being a sieve, right? They can't stop a running nose. But on top of it, Pat Mahomes is doing things.
Starting point is 00:26:34 things where if the book is out there, like you just said, Ryan, we're going to sit in cover two and wait till you get greedy. If that book is out, how do you change that? How is he supposed to change that from a defender's point of view, Ryan? You got to be patient. The one thing about defense, like, every defense has a hole. And sometimes that hole is not what you wanted to be, but they got a hole. And the thing is, my homes have to understand, take what they give me, because if I take If I take what they give me, eventually I'm going to be able to get a biggest slice of the pie. But right now, everybody, like, I'm not giving you that slice.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Like, you want that big slice of the pie. You've been getting that your whole career. I'm not giving that to you. And it's a lot easier to stop two people than it is to stop three. With Sammy Watkins leaving and them not having a serious running game, man, the only two people you're really thinking about, for real for real is Tyree Kill and Travis Kelsey, because those are the guys that he loved to go to. and if you uncover two or you win defenses that allow you to bracket those guys
Starting point is 00:27:37 because Harmon, he's a great player, but you're not scared of him. Like, you're scared of his speed, but you're not scared of him. Right. You know, so defenses, they're more focused on like, all right, let's eliminate these two guys and have everybody else beat us and they don't have anybody else that can beat them. So Mahomes has to understand, all right, they're giving me five yards, take it. They're giving me five yards take it. They give me five yards take it.
Starting point is 00:27:58 If you do that all first half, the second. have, they're like, damn, he's beating us with this. It's time to go deep. But my home, he like, man, he like the pretty girl, man. Everybody liked the pretty girl. And, hey, going over top. Then you find out she can't cook. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Going over top, hey, going over top, hey, it's nice and pretty, but when she can't cook, you're like, oh, yeah. She can't teach your kids, nothing. She can't cook. It's just going to gala after gala. It ain't worth it, you know. But when it's something in front of it, of your face and it's one a sometimes people like man that's too easy like it like it ain't worth it
Starting point is 00:28:36 but but mahomes has to understand sometimes in football if it's easy and it's right there you got take advantage of it five yards is better than no yards yeah is it a patience issue james that you're seeing right now with pat well it's definitely a patience issue because they're giving him everything he won't short and he's going to take it one or two times and then he's going for the gusto but this this this kansas city cheese team has been truly blessed and they're still not looking good. It's over for the Kansas City Chiefs. You've been saying that for two weeks. I'm just being real. You go, they won't. When you say over, you're talking about this season or they beat a, they beat a Giants team
Starting point is 00:29:13 and they score 20 points. They beat a Packers team without Aaron Rogers and they score 13 points. You know what I mean? And the Packers, hey, credit to them, they play big time defense, but they score 13 points. Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelsey, they just don't look like they on the same page. I mean, you even watch Kelsey, he coming back to the huddle looking at Pat, like, did you not know I was going over there? And Pat, like, bro, you're supposed to be going that way or why you ain't stopping. They just look out of sync.
Starting point is 00:29:49 So as much as I want to say is, you know, is looking for the big shot and it's not being patient. They just ain't got it this year, man. And you see it every week the film shows up. that they is miscommunications as guys not not knowing what they're doing is pat missing throws as pat forcing throws down the football field they just don't got it so i don't see them beating teams like the steelers like the titans like the uh whoever else is it like the uh whoever else is in the top of the aFC who else's the baltimore ravens you know what i'm saying i just don't see them beating teams like that man you know what i mean with the way the office
Starting point is 00:30:31 is struggling right now. Now, and Odell Beckham could show up on the other side of Tyreek Hill. And I could be sitting here on the next show next week saying the Chiefs is back. He's crazy. O'Dell Beggam going to get one-on-one coverage. He think we delete these every week. You know what I'm saying? O'L Beckham going to get one-on-one coverage 20, 27 times.
Starting point is 00:30:56 The game is over for the whole league. You know what I'm saying? I could be sitting there saying that, but right now. That man hedging his bet, right? The chiefs don't look good, Rob. You see him? That man hedging his bet. I've been saying that.
Starting point is 00:31:10 I've been saying that a few weeks now, man. It's just their team, their team. Obviously, everybody's talking about their defense. But defense is a problem. But when your offense that you're known for is also a problem, man, that means you're not a good team anymore. Right. And they have all.
Starting point is 00:31:29 all the pieces around for them to be a good team, but they're just not the team that everybody expecting them to be. And I honestly don't think that it, if, I don't think they're going to make the playoffs, but if they do slide into the playoffs, they're going to have a very early exit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's, like James said, like you said, Ryan,
Starting point is 00:31:47 it's looking like they just don't have it for whatever reason. And it's crazy because when you see something like a juggernaut of an offense, like we saw over the last couple of years, when you see it, you just think it's going to run its course. and then the NFL has a crazy way of getting in the lab and saying, all right, come back. Like, for instance, Bears ran Wildcat a couple times last night. And I remember wearing, it was Ronnie Brown and who else was in the Miami Dolphins backfield
Starting point is 00:32:13 when for a few games. They was running Wildcat until their heads fell off. And then the NFL was like, nah, you ain't going to do that. You ain't just going to put two running backs in the backfield and think you can make a move on us. Is that what this is where now, Andy Reed and Pat Mahomes have to take it back to the lab and come back with some kind of counterpunch? Or is it as simple as kind of retraining Pat Mahomes as to what he's going to see going forward?
Starting point is 00:32:41 Well, I think number one, it's run game. Those shot plays will still be there. You being creative, you got this speed of Tyrake Hill, the route running creativity of Travis Kelsey. You got the speed of Miko Hardman. Oh, that's good. if you can run it, you know, because now people go have to bring a guy down and you're going to get the three high. You know what I'm saying? You know, when they were successful, they was really able to run the football.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Obviously, they had another guy out there in Sammy Watkins when Sammy was healthy with the chiefs, and it was another element in the past game, but they still were able to run the football. You know what I'm saying? Clyde Edwards-Alair last year was able to run the football enough to get people to respect the run. You know what I mean? If they can run the football, then yeah, you'll get a lot of those shot plays plays back because it'll be, it'll be covered three. It'll be man to man.
Starting point is 00:33:35 You'll be able to get them shot plays. But right now, teams is dropping seven and saying that we can stop to run with these guys up front. And even if we don't, you're not going to run it consistently. Right. You know what I mean? So they got to find a way to run the ball if they want to get more explosive on the offense.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Jordan Love and the Packers. When a player like that is, isn't playing, it's going to show. And Aaron Rogers and his, you know, whatever he had going on the last week and a half, he getting a whole bunch of smoke and I think deservedly so. But Jordan Love has been sitting in the cut waiting for this moment, Ryan, and the moment,
Starting point is 00:34:13 he didn't meet it. He didn't meet it. Man, man, I see why y'all holding Aaron Rogers hostage. Let Aaron free. What they say about Odell? Free Aaron. Free Ed. Free Aaron.
Starting point is 00:34:28 Free him to Denver next year, right? No, hey, all I'm saying is, I understand that, you know, this is this guy's first start. You know, it was in a Sunday nights type of stage. You know, like that it wasn't a great environment for him to start a game. And I don't like the judge dudes offer, you know, their first start, their first game and things like that. But Jordan Love to me did not play like a player that you trade up for
Starting point is 00:34:55 and sit underneath somebody under the greatest quarterback that James ever seen. You sit underneath him for a whole year and it seems like he haven't learned anything. Like it seemed like he was really flustered the whole game. It wasn't like he had, he didn't have a lot of pressure on him. You know, it just seemed like he was just, you know, antsy the whole game.
Starting point is 00:35:17 He felt nervous. It looked like he was nervous the whole game, man. And you needed a quarterback that seemed like they could be calm and collected almost on some Justin thing. Like Justin almost seemed too calm sometimes. You know what I'm saying? And that's not the type of vibe that I got from Jordan. And Jordan's going to really have to grow up next year because they aren't going to be gone.
Starting point is 00:35:38 So I don't know what y'all got playing next year, but y'all better figure some out because. They got losses playing next year. That's what they got. They got that hot five and 12 playing next year. That's what they got. After that game right there. The GM should have left the game at halftime and flew to Aaron House and said, how can we work this thing out for next year?
Starting point is 00:36:02 Blank check, James. No, hey, no, for real. Like, to be honest with you, man, and I like Jordan Love, man. But you went up against a Chief's defense, right, Ron? Terrible defense. That defense is bad. So I don't care if you played at the park. I don't care if you played at Arrowhead.
Starting point is 00:36:20 I don't care if you played at the YMCA. That is the Chief's defense. and they are not very good. Only reason I am concerned is because I can't sit here and say, oh, we, that was a nice throw. Yeah. You need at least two or three, right? Yeah, yeah, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:36:39 The Jacksonville Jaguar stink. The New York Jets stink, right? The Chicago Bears, sorry, Jay, stink, right? But when you watch Justin Fields, you say, okay. He got that all. Okay, we're going to be all right. Like, that's what a first rounder look like. When you watch Trevor Lawrence, you see some plays to where you're like, okay, that's
Starting point is 00:37:03 what the first rounder look like. When you see Zach Wilson, you're like, oh, okay. He turned the ball over, but it's certain plays where you're like, okay, that's a first round throw. You know what I'm saying? When you see mac and cheese, right? It's a lot of plays out there that, hey, but you sell a lot of plays. You say, ooh, we, look at Maca cheese.
Starting point is 00:37:25 I see it. I see it. Yeah. All game long, I didn't see one of those plays. My boy was throwing ducks out there. That way, hey. He wasn't even given the chance. He wasn't given his receivers a chance.
Starting point is 00:37:36 And that's what I was looking for. And don't get me wrong, I'm sitting here just like Ryan. Man, it's my boy first start. You know what I'm saying? Hey, it's at Arrowhead. We all know Arrowhead get rocking and get loud, all that good stuff. But at the end of the day, the players that take the field at Arrowhead is the players that's been
Starting point is 00:37:52 taking the field all year and the defense ain't that good. You know what I'm saying? And just sitting here watching the game, it wasn't one of those times to where I said, okay, there it is. That's the first round. That's what it looks like. You know what I'm saying? And that's what I was waiting for.
Starting point is 00:38:11 And I don't know when he gets another opportunity if it's going to look like that. I don't know. You know what I'm saying? But if I'm a coached staff and that's the last time we get to see Jordan Love because Aaron Rogers comes back. Coming back win. Oh, this year. I think he's my next year.
Starting point is 00:38:26 Ryan trying it's hardest to make this awful for all Packers fans. 12 comes back this week. He'll be back Saturday. He'll be virtual meetings all this week. And they're going to win. He'll be back in the building Saturday, right? But what I'm saying is if 12 stays healthy and makes it through the whole season, you're not seeing Jordan Love again.
Starting point is 00:38:48 So that sample you got from Jordan Love that Chiefs game, Is that enough for you to say, Aaron Rogers, you walking? Or is that enough for you to say, I don't care what we got to do. I don't care if I, as a GM, I got to go to Aaron Rogers' house and do what I got to do
Starting point is 00:39:03 to make sure that we get him and Devante Adams back in this building. You know? And right now it's looking like that's what you need to do. Yeah, yeah. Straight up. You need a powwow.
Starting point is 00:39:12 You need a powwow. Or you need to do like, who was it? The Clippers or the Dallas Mavericks locked the play in their house and make sure the day would be time with them. You got to go in there and lock the dough behind there and say, you ain't coming out.
Starting point is 00:39:29 From one player that the team doesn't want to leave to another player who his team was like, hey, it's cool if you're not here. The Cleveland Browns, you know the questions. You know the questions all around. Cleveland Browns have messed around and released Odell Beckham. And of course, the Cleveland Browns are going to look like they look. And Odell Beckham, you know, it was crazy to me, right, because Odell, Beckham Jr. is a guy that's easily targeted as, okay, diva wide receiver, definition of it,
Starting point is 00:40:00 here it is. But from everything that we heard coming out of Cleveland was he kept it, he kept it the way he was supposed to keep it. He kept it professional as long as he could. And then he told him, hey, I don't want to be here. Can you move me out of here? And Jarvis Landry and a bunch of people who said he's the best teammate they've ever had. And then the video goes out where he's open on a whole bunch of plays and the rest of the NFL is reacting to it. Shout out to the DB. too who just went ham on that video. I was like, man, this man open as hell. Like, why can't y'all get them to ball?
Starting point is 00:40:30 The same things that James was saying. So Cleveland and Odell, are they better without each other and what do you guys think is next for Odell? They're definitely better without each other. And I said this, I think last week, the Browns, the way they have their offense is, our best player, I don't give a damn Odell there or not. Our best player is Nick Chubb.
Starting point is 00:40:53 give Nick Chubb the ball we build our offense off the run Baker is good at hey I'm distributing it after we like our identity is running the ball and then I'm passing it to whoever I feel is open or I feel comfortable to you know with
Starting point is 00:41:08 and I think that's how and that's how they win when you have to force the ball to somebody or you're like hey we got to scheme it up to give this guy the ball now that's not our identity our identity is like all right we're running the ball but we got to make sure we give Odell the ball as well. And I don't think that they like their coach or I don't think Baker plays well
Starting point is 00:41:29 like that. I think this team is much better without Odell. Odell's a great player. He's a dominant player, but he just not a, he doesn't fit that squad, you know, and I hope he goes somewhere that fits him well, but I think Odell has to be the top dog somewhere. And to me, I wanted to ask James this, because this is a very question, something that was very funny to me. And you too, Jason. Go ahead. So O'Dell was like, I want to go to a contender. And if I don't go to a contender, it's going to be a problem. What does that mean?
Starting point is 00:42:01 Like, what does that mean? You know exactly what that mean. Oh, you know exactly what it mean. It means, if the Detroit Lions claim me, I will see you guys next season, is what it means. So he's not playing. Or I'm going to come to a practice like B. Marsh and punt footballs for the entire players. I'm not playing. If the Detroit Lions claim me, I'm not playing.
Starting point is 00:42:25 And the blessing about Odell is they restructured his contract to where he's a free agent after this year. Yeah, that's crazy to me too. So it doesn't matter. So that's excellent job by his agent because that. You're going to miss them checks though, James? I'm going to miss them because I'm not going to Detroit to get hurt. And we owe and eight.
Starting point is 00:42:46 You know what I mean? So, yeah, I'm going to miss them checks. And I'm just going to wait. I'm going to become a free agent next year. You know what I mean? And I'm going to do what I got to do. You know what I mean? So, but yes, that's exactly what that means, Ryan.
Starting point is 00:42:56 If the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville, Jaguars try to claim me, I'm telling the coach, I'm basically letting the coaches know right now that I'm not showing up. So do you want the headache? You know what I mean? So what if they franchise you next year? They can't. Yeah, no, they can't. Oh, they can't, I say.
Starting point is 00:43:12 Yeah, he's free. Yeah, they can't, they can't tag him. He's a, he's a restrictive free agent next year. So, so. A wild position to be in, boy. So he's gone. So, yes, so his agent did it the right way to where he could go to a contender. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:43:26 So, James, do you feel like, I don't feel like he would do, like, I think everybody's like, oh, it'll be great if he go to Seattle. Him and Russell and all those guys. No, I don't want Seattle. No, the reason, I know you want Green Bay, but the reason I say. No, no, I don't even want Green Bay. I want him to go to the Kansas City Chiefs. Wow.
Starting point is 00:43:45 Because at the end of the day, number one, I blames to face. Fansky first. And obviously then I blame Baker because Baker's the one throw him. I don't blame neither one of them. I feel like they'll be great without him. No, but I'm just saying when he's in the game. Is that mutually exclusive, though? So can someone deserve blame but also play well without that play?
Starting point is 00:44:07 So like this is what I'm saying. If we're talking about the Odell Beckup situation and why it didn't work. Right. All right. Number one, I blame Safanski. Number two, I blame Baker. And the reason why is because I have been a number three receiver and I have been a number one receiver. When I was a number three receiver, I walk in the Dane building and I'm like, oh my goodness, they're trying to get the ball to Jordie Nelson and the number one receiver.
Starting point is 00:44:34 You know what I'm saying? But that's as it should be. I love Jordie. Jordie was balling. Yes, he was. He should be getting the Dane ball. Randall Cobb should be getting a Dane ball. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:44:47 Them dudes is bawling. You know what I'm saying? When I was bawling, we was coming in there. How can we get James the football in the huddle? Aaron Rogers would be like, JJ, go make this play. You know what I'm saying? I don't understand as a coach to where you have a $100 million receiver and he's getting two targets.
Starting point is 00:45:10 I don't care how many catches he gets. That's one thing that I did respect about Jordan Love, this game. He said, you know what? He's going to force that thing. I have a guy named Devante Adams. He threw that thing to him 14 times.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Yeah. That man got Devante Adams, Mawson. Devante Adam do the Mawson. He did. He did. But what I'm saying is at least he said, this is the best receiver on the field.
Starting point is 00:45:37 He making big time money. I'm at least going to give him his opportunities to make a play. Whether he make him or not, I don't understand. The opportunities is named Nick Chubb. Give him the ball. What I'm saying is with Nick Chubb running the ball,
Starting point is 00:45:54 Kareem Hunt running the ball, Baker Mayfield throws the ball 30 times a game. Right. How does your star receiver only get two targets? Especially when Jarvis Landry, you've been dropping the things. I really, that's what I don't understand. Yes, some of the blame is on O'Dill. We don't know what's going on in the building.
Starting point is 00:46:14 Shoot, for all we know, O'Dell Beckham can line up at the wrong position, run the wrong, we don't know all the ends and outs of the situation. But when you turn on the tape and you see O'Dell wide open, number one is how is this do not the first read? And number two is Baker, how are you not looking at him? So I don't know the whole end is out of the story,
Starting point is 00:46:35 but what I do know is he should not go into the game and come out of a game of four quarters and you throw on the ball 35 times and he has one to two targets. That's unacceptable. So what option would he be at Kansas City? He going to be three. He going to be three.
Starting point is 00:46:52 This is the thing, James, where is he going to play two? Is this a slot? No, he going to play outside. Who won? Tyree kills one. Travis Kelsey, two. Tari Kiel is two. Brud.
Starting point is 00:47:04 No, no. Tell him, Ryan. Tyree Kiel is two. No, Travis Kelsey is two. Tyree Kiel is one. You tripping, James. Brud. That man, a hundred catches, Jay.
Starting point is 00:47:16 Look at the stats. Look at the stats this year and look at the targets. I'm trying to tell you. Travis Kelsey is number two on that team. Travis Kelsey got 500 yards. Tyreeke got almost 700-something yards. Who going to finish with most? Rique.
Starting point is 00:47:31 No, no, he's not. You're crazy. You're talking about. Yards. Yards. Yards, Tarreek going, Tyreek because they stretch the field. This year, this year, Travis, this year, this year, this year, Patrick Mahomes looking he's looking for Reek.
Starting point is 00:47:45 But at the same time, however order you want to put it in, however order you want to put it in, Kelsey, Reek, Reek, Kelsey, O's going to be three. He can't be a three. He can't be a three. He can't be a three because they are going to sling the ball over the yard. And Patrick Mahomes is going to get his targets. That's, to be honest with you, that's all Odell wants. He just wants the opportunities to make plays.
Starting point is 00:48:10 If you go out there with Patrick Mahomes, he's going to get seven to eight looks to make plays. Easy. Well, why can't he be in three, Ryan? Man, that man is a superstar, a mega, mega, that's like Travis Scott of football. He's like, man, Travis Scott ain't no third option and no concert, man.
Starting point is 00:48:33 He's going to be the opening act. Like, all I'm saying is, man, like, to me. At the end of the day, it's all about just getting the football. No, I know what you're saying, James, but the thing is... So it don't matter number one, number two, number three. It's about getting the football. If Rick has eight catches and I have five catches to do work, I don't care what number I am. But if four games go past and Rick has 32 catches and you have 16, 20, right? Do you think that's going to be an issue is what Ryan said? This is what I'm saying, James. I see what you saying. This man, when people think of
Starting point is 00:49:07 football as a right now in the NFL, they think of OBJ. Like his name was up there. So this is all I'm saying. All right, I'm the third option on this team. Like, to me, what I'm seeing from people is they care more about Odell's success than people care about winning. Like, the Browns were winning and they're complaining Odell's not getting the ball. Then when they lose, the first thing they say is because Odell didn't get the ball. It's like, man, like you can't win for losing if he was your team.
Starting point is 00:49:37 That's because he's not getting the ball. But he was getting the ball at the Giants. weren't winning. Right. You know what I'm saying? Like, so this is all I'm saying. Like he was a mega star at the Giants and obviously he in New York. That team was trash too.
Starting point is 00:49:48 This team is good and he's not getting the ball and they're winning and he's upset about it. So, and not upset, I'm saying, but he's not, he's not able to make the plays that he needs to make. Brough, this is what, this is what people don't understand. This is what people don't understand. He's not, he's not making $500,000. No, I know that. I know that.
Starting point is 00:50:09 I know that. The boy is making $100 million. So as we all know, when you make more money, if you don't produce on the football field, they're going to cut you. So it is about what I'm doing on the football field. Because if I'm making $100 million and you're not giving me opportunities to make plays, I'm going to get cut. So I am angry.
Starting point is 00:50:30 So do you think there's a financial aspect to this? Do you think there's a financial? Not now. That's what I'm saying. Not now. Like now he's making $7 million. dollars whoever picks him up is is paying him seven million for half the season that's i know but that's a number three receiver like if you're the three's they can't pay 14 million
Starting point is 00:50:51 james he's he's making seven million dollars you talking about but for half the season that's pro rated but that's what i'm saying so whatever odell knows and and i and i know because i live down the street from his agent but odell knows whatever contender he goes to to he's the number three unless he go to the Patriots. If you go to Seattle, you're the number three. He go to Green Bay. He's the number two, though. If you go to Green Bay, yeah, you're the number two.
Starting point is 00:51:23 But he ain't going to Green Bay. I'm trying to tell you all. He ain't going to Green Bay. Marino Carr. If he go to Kansas City, he's the number three. But at the end of the day, it's just about getting his opportunities to make plays. If he goes, if he goes to Seattle, even being the number three, Russ going to find him. If he goes to Kansas City, Pat Mahomes going to find it, period. I mean, if you look, if you look
Starting point is 00:51:51 when they have Sammy Watkins, whenever Sammy was on the field, Sammy got action. You know what I'm saying? Now you bring in a guy like OBJ, man, he's going to get action. He going to have seven, eight catches a game. And even if it ain't catches, he going to have seven, eight opportunities a game. And that's all he won't. All right. Last word on this, Ryan. Last word on this. This is what I'm saying. Semney Walker was a $72 million man at the third option and where he had now.
Starting point is 00:52:18 Not making as much money and not would as good of a quarterback. Hey, but he played out that contract with the Chiefs though. Hey, you know what I'm saying? Legend at the bank. He played out that contract with the Chiefs. And he was the number one option over there with the Ravens until he got hurt. No, and all I'm saying is that him being the third, option, he's not going to get the money that he wants in the long run next year being a third
Starting point is 00:52:43 option. Like I said before, O'Dell is going to get another payday at the end of this season. You think so? Like a big one? I know so. I'm not saying a hundred million, but O'Dell Beckham is easily going to get 50 million. Yeah, he's going to get 50 million. You just signed a hundred and then you're going to get 50. That's a payday. You know what I'm saying? So he's going to get another payday because he just turned 29. He's still in this day and prime. So when he does go to this contender wherever we find out at 4 o'clock today,
Starting point is 00:53:14 bro, he's going to get action and he's going to ball out. The Kansas City Chiefs, he's going to go crazy. What if the Steelers pick him up? Big Ben, sorry, bro. Hey, he said you want to consider. I know, but Big Ben, sorry. And that boy turned into the one.
Starting point is 00:53:30 That's crazy. You see that? That's wild. It's crazy, but Big Ben, sorry. You see Big Ben last night take that hell Mary hit you and throw it 32 yards. Pun arm. Hey, Big Ben getting Ws and he had more yards than Justin. All I know is they ran an RPO to get a first down.
Starting point is 00:53:49 That's why I was like, you can turn this shit off. You can, you can, when Ben Rutherberg is scrambling for a first down, I'm good. I am all the way. That was a, it was a RIPO. It was a, yeah, a pass fake, right? No. I mean, when that's happening, then you can have it. He can do it.
Starting point is 00:54:04 Let's go. Yeah, he can. He running for his damn life, though. Ben falling forward, you know what I'm saying? All right, last thing. Y'all, mighty, mythical, legendary team in L.A. got punched in the mouth repeatedly for four quarters without Derek Henry. So what did you learn more about?
Starting point is 00:54:23 The Titans or the Rams in that game? The NFL. The NFL. I know it's any given Sunday, man. But to be honest with you, I learned a little bit more. about the Titans. And the reason why I say that is because this Titans defense stepped up. I mean, that front seven was bullying people, the back end playing coverage.
Starting point is 00:54:43 And then Ryan Tannerhill, we said that Ryan Tannerhill is going to have to make some throws. Ryan Tannenhill made just enough throws to win that game. He found AJ, he found Julio on some crucial third downs, third and tens, third and long. I mean, he was making plays with his arms. Obviously, he made a couple of plays with his legs, scored a tough. touchdown, but I learn more about the Titans that they're just finding ways to win. You know what I mean? And the Rams, to be honest with you, I mean, I know we all looking at them as that top
Starting point is 00:55:15 team in the AFC, but whenever they play a good team besides the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you know what I mean? They losses have came to the Cardinals and the Titans, man, two winning football teams. Who's beating winning teams these days, boys? Like, who can you look at and say, this team beat four good teams so far in the NFL schedule? Because I feel like the Tennessee Titans. Tennessee, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Because the common theme is like, hey, man, they kick in the ass when they come to mediocre teams. But when they go up against a good team, that's when you're going to really find out. The Titans just been sitting there. Mike Vrable been coaching these, like Harold Landry, one of the better defensive players in the game that nobody talks about. You know, they got damn near the best safety combo in the last. league, like quietly right now. So, yeah, man, I don't believe in the Titans long term, but it's, they, they play a winning brand of football.
Starting point is 00:56:10 I'm not going to ever start. Right now, I can't say there's a best team in the AFC because literally once we say this team is the best team, then they lose, you know, so. Right. But I definitely feel that the Titans right now are just basically showing everybody. It doesn't matter what, what's the cost we're going to find a way to win. Like you were saying, their final way to win games. We can win ugly.
Starting point is 00:56:28 We can win pretty. and that's all that matters in the football team in the NFL you've got to be battle tested and that's one thing that they're showing that they can do Coach Vrabble is a real solid coach
Starting point is 00:56:41 he wants to have like a hard-nosed bunch of dudes and I feel like that's what he's developed over there in Tennessee and that's the style of team that he has but right now I feel the AFC's wide open and then the Rams for them to get beat up like that
Starting point is 00:56:56 that kind of surprised me a bit I didn't see them being beat up like that. But they also probably thought that the Tennessee Titans weren't going to be like that because of Derek Henry. So that's the one thing with the NFL, man. Everybody wanted to get up and play against everybody. But sometimes, you know, you don't be up. And I don't know.
Starting point is 00:57:19 I'm not making any excuses, you know. But that's the NFL for you. The bills lose to the damn to the Jags. And, you know, the best. team in the NFL that we think get smoked. Yeah. You know, so you just never know the NFL. That's why we love this game of football, man.
Starting point is 00:57:36 Guys going out there and playing great football. But at the day, Tenney Hill did what he had to do. And he showed the Tennessee not playing around this year. Honestly, I don't know who's going to come out of the AFC. It might be the Steelers. It might be the Ravens. You never know. To be honest with you, man, that AFC is so weak this year.
Starting point is 00:57:54 Dog! Like, let me, I'm glad you said that, James. The three best teams in the NFL is in the NFC. Yeah. The NFC going to beat each other up, man. The AFC is going to be weak. And in the seven teams. I mean, to be honest with you, I mean, I'm not a believer in the Cincinnati Bengals.
Starting point is 00:58:12 The Cincinnati Bengals is probably going to be in the playoffs. The Buffalo Bill is going to be into playoffs. Tennessee going to be in the playoffs. Pittsburgh going to be in the playoffs. Yeah, I like to hear that. Yeah, that's all I do. To be honest with you, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Cincinnati. I mean, to be honest, they all boo-boo.
Starting point is 00:58:30 They'll get destroyed by Tampa and the Packers and the Rams. And if Carson wins, if Carson Wins could keep it together, like the Colts, the coach got a decent wide. The Packers already to be Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. They just running through the AFC. So, I mean, obviously, we just, we talked about the Chiefs. The Chiefs ain't that good. So yes, yes, the AFC is wide open.
Starting point is 00:58:51 That is excellent for Ryan's Pittsburgh. I mean, you know, they play defense. They play defense. They always got a shot because they play defense. Hey, you know what's so crazy? Would it be in this open? Hilarious. All the Steelers got to do is win every week.
Starting point is 00:59:08 That's all we got to do. It don't matter who we play. You've got to win every week. That's everybody. That's everybody. What is you talking about? Hey, hey, we win every week. Get into the playoffs, all you got to do is win.
Starting point is 00:59:20 All we got to do is win. Go 1 and 0 every week, right? Go 1 and 0 every week. And then, hey, the Stiller's a. I don't want to win. And still is ain't going nowhere, Ryan. Ain't not going nowhere, man. Hey, that's all I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:59:32 We're on like a little folk, we're on a full game winning street. And all I'm saying is in the playoffs, in the playoffs, and we make it to the AFC championship of a song. Y'all done first round, though. What? Dude, y'all struggled with the bears last night. Yeah, yeah, y'all out first round. Hey, I'm happy, I'm happy this pie going to the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:59:55 Oh, yeah, there it is. This man booking tickets already. Hey, I'll have me this podcast into the Super Bowl because when the Steelers in there, I ain't trying to hear nothing. Yeah, the Steelers ain't going to be in there, bro. If the Steelers in there, I ain't showing up for the bar. I was not to say, if I offer some God-unforeseen reason
Starting point is 01:00:13 that the Pittsburgh's, like, it's a whole bunch of accidents that need to happen. It's about the coach, bro. It's about the coach, bro. And I love Coach Tomlin. Oh, yeah. It ain't happen. He got nine games with the talent on his team, though.
Starting point is 01:00:25 That's what he goes. I'm just happy that he ain't going to have a losing season. Yeah, that's good. That's good. Yeah, not an A, to do, you know. That's a dude. Hey, the way is looking right now, hey, we might go, you know, 13 and four. And with that, ladies and gentlemen, we'd like to thank you.
