Starting point is 00:00:30 James Jones, Ryan Shazier, Jason Gawf with you. covering this week six action fellas. Some pretty decent games, some pretty decent games in terms of the platform games, right? The Sunday night game and the Monday night game. But let's start from the top. What is sticking out to you guys? Because A.R., he sent me the notes from the meeting because I was running around doing some other stuff. But he sent me the notes from the meeting.
Starting point is 00:00:54 And it seems like you guys have a lot to say about the Cowboys and about the Cardinals, some other teams. You're going, I'm sure I'm going to catch grief about the bills. and we'll save what happened to the Bears later on in the game in this pod because James Jones is in an all Packers outfit, ladiesy gentlemen. After a tough couple of weeks for his ratings, this man has found the only stitches of Green Bay Packers' clothes in his closet. But always good to see y'all fellas, man.
Starting point is 00:01:22 How are you feeling? I'm feeling good, man. So let's get right to it. I can't look at James right now. I can't. James, go ahead, man. Just off the top, go ahead and say what you got to say about the team she played for. Just normal gear on, man.
Starting point is 00:01:39 You know, just getting my day started. It's the first thing in the closet, right? The first thing in the closet, right? Just the first thing I got seen in the closet when I woke up this morning, man. That's it, man. You know, I can't even look at this through. Hey, let's get this thing going, man. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:01:54 Right. Hey, you know, you know, Pee got the green bay helmet in the back, too, bro. You know what I said? You know what I slide to land. Look, I try. He got a Super Bowl trophy and all. This man is out of here. Oh, this day is out of here.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Oh, my God. Oh, I hate that. He had the green paper stitches under production meeting, too, you weren't even in there. You know, I just had my assistant set it all up. That's it. Oh, here you go. There we go.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Charger Ravens, fellas. I know it didn't work out for Ryan the way that he had hoped. with some betting interests that he had. But Chargers Ravens, it's the first time we've seen the Chargers offense look the way they look. And let's face it, man. Like Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, like week to week we talk about the MVP race. And who did it this week? Who's doing it this?
Starting point is 00:02:50 Seemingly, Kyle Murray is going to stay in there because he's just been balling. And that Cardinals team is 6 and 0. But Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, the final way to get done that defense against Justin Herbert. who has been as hot as any quarterback in the NFL. That was, I don't want to say a statement game. That was a big, big game for the Baltimore Ravens. Yeah, for me, I'm going to be honest. I'm going to let everybody know why this game has a big interest for me.
Starting point is 00:03:15 Man, I had, first of all, this is something that you don't do. You don't do 14 game parlays because you know they're not going to win. But, hey, but I had a 14 game parlay. And I was like, all right, I'm going to get through the first 10. Let me see where I'm at. So I had nine teams right on my parley, and the one team that screwed it off was the Chargers. So I bet $100 if I would have got off 14, I would have won 800 bands.
Starting point is 00:03:45 So if I would have got 10 right, I would have won 100 bands off $100. Come on, Chargers. Come on, come on, man. Not just come on. They scored six points. Six points. But I'm going to be real, though. Like, I might be just a hater.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Like, I'm going to be honest. True. But I feel if they play again in the playoffs, the Chargers are going to beat them. And the reason I say that is because I think the Ravens jumped out on them boys. And one thing when it comes to, when it comes to professional football, sometimes a team jump out on you. Then when you start reaching, man, it's hard to recover. And that's what the Chargers start doing.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Obviously, everybody knows. go for it on fourth downs and things like this. And they did it last week. They went for a fourth down on their own 30, but they went for a fourth and one on their own 20, and then they didn't get it, and then you get Lamar the ball right there. Obviously, if you're inside a 50-yard line,
Starting point is 00:04:43 it's already a field goal territory, but then you put them in that situation. And then they did that multiple times. So to me, I think the charges really just got jumped up on, and then it was like, oh, snap, and then the Raiders just held, I mean, the Ravens just held the ball, because you know they're just going to run the ball really well.
Starting point is 00:04:58 and then it was too late for them to recover. But it did. The Ravens do have one of the best defense in the league, and they showed it that day. But I don't feel like it's going to be sustainable when it comes to the playoffs. Because I think in the playoffs, the charges are going to be a whole,
Starting point is 00:05:12 they're going to be the same team that we expect them to be. And both of them really don't have a lot of playoff experience. You know, Lamar has playoff experience, but he don't really show up that much in the playoffs. So I feel like when they play in that situation, I think the charges will win. But the Ravens did what they had to do.
Starting point is 00:05:30 And as of right now, they're playing like the best team in the AMC. But I feel in that situation in the playoffs, I think it will be a different story. I totally, totally, totally disagree. And the reason why I say that, the reason why I say it because I was watching the game and Lamar Jackson had his way with these boys all game long. Like, they had no answer for him.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Like, to be honest with you, they made one good play on defense. And if you really think about it, it's probably a play Lamar won't back because Lamar, like, what am I thinking? You know, I see the linebacker there and he threw a pick. But when you talk about just not stopping the run game, I mean, they couldn't stop Lamar. They couldn't stop Lavion Abel. They couldn't stop Latavius Murray.
Starting point is 00:06:18 These are two backs that wasn't even on the team in training camp. These are two backs that just got out here. I want to say this is Levyon Bell first game playing. They could stop Mark Andrews. They couldn't stop Hollywood Brown. They couldn't stop nobody. It was like it was pure dominance. But we all know, Ryan, it's a week-to-week league.
Starting point is 00:06:38 You know what I'm saying? So, yes, if they do play again, it will be different. But I don't know if they are ready to beat the Ravens. The Ravens defense obviously got at them. They defenders made some great plays. Marlon Humphreys had a couple breakups. The safety made an excellent interception on Jared Cook. They defense played well.
Starting point is 00:06:55 They was getting pressure, you know. But let's not get it twisted, too. I was watching the game. Chargers dropped some wide open passes. You know what I'm saying? So I do believe the game will be closer. But from what I've seen from that defense, who we thought was arguably the best defense in the National Football League
Starting point is 00:07:11 with what they could do with the skill players they have on defense, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens had their way running the ball, man, and doing anything they wanted to do on offense. Like, every time they got the ball, I thought they was going to score. Whether it was long, short fields, whatever it was. And that's why, you know, as the game was going on, I was doing a little work, and I just kept yelling MVP for Lamar.
Starting point is 00:07:34 But it's hard not to. The man has lost both his starting running backs. He's lost his starting corner on the other side of Marcus Peters. Like this team came into the season before the very first game beat up. Yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like he definitely having an MVP year for sure.
Starting point is 00:07:55 He just lost Sammy Watkins ain't there. He lost Sammy Watkins, who Sammy Watkins was playing at a high level. You know what I'm saying? So he's doing, he's winning games. He's four and one right now. And he's winning all the games, or five and one. And he's winning all the games. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:08:14 That's why I was yelling on TV too. The Ravens better hurry for paying. Yeah. Yeah, the price's going up. Because just like the price is a brick going up. The price is definitely going up. Yeah, because just like Devonte. Adams, the Packers don't, ain't trying to pay him right now because he wants a certain amount of
Starting point is 00:08:30 money, hey, the price just keep going up. And let Aaron Rogers go to Denver or something like that. Like he, Devante Adams is like, hey, if I'm going to be catching. It's kind of the Dak Prescott look where, you know, when we saw Ezekkeo Elliott kind of slowing down the last couple of years, Dak was like, hey, if, if I'm going to get paid, it better be the whole thing. Because if these dudes ain't around or these dudes slowing down, I know the onus is going beyond me.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Devante Adams got the same feeling. I'm sure Lamar Jackson got the same feeling. The reason why I agree with Ryan is. Hold on real quick. Hold on real quick. Hold on real quick. Ryan, you see how, you know, he tried to take my moment away because I got all my packer year on now. Now he's talking. I hate your ass, God.
Starting point is 00:09:09 I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. You see how he can't. He can't let us enjoy, man. Eric, Aaron, Aaron ain't going to Denver, bro.
Starting point is 00:09:21 He's going to. He's taking his ass out of this division, hopefully. Some way somehow. I'm tired. A.R. wanted me to wait to the end to, you know, share my sorrows as a Bears fan here. The whole I still own you thing is still ain't sitting right with me. But we'll get it to that. And yes, I hope he takes his ass together so he can get the hell about the N.C.
Starting point is 00:09:41 You know what I'm. But seriously, though, dude, I agree with Shazir. And the reason why is they got jumped on, like Ryan said. And sometimes when these teams get you, you learn a lot about coaches, I think, in those moments. And we've been giving all the credit in the world of Brandon Staley because he's been terrific. You know, he's going by the numbers, going for it on fourth downs. But every once in a while, when you get jumped on,
Starting point is 00:10:04 I like to see when you're going to abandon that game plan. Like, does 10 points make you itchy? Does two touchdowns make you eat? Like, where, and, boy, when they got jumped on, they told Austin Echler, hey, fam, you're about to catch passes. The rest of this game. What, what they have, 12 attempts, rushing total? I mean, once, you know, you.
Starting point is 00:10:25 You guys know, as a defender and as a former member of an offensive side of the ball, you know, when you know that you're throwing the ball and they know that you're throwing the ball, oh, yeah, it's party time. It's time to get your numbers up. And that Ravens – that's – that's what the Chargers did that. That's what the Chargers do, though. That's what was – that's what was eye-boggling to me. No balance, no, James?
Starting point is 00:10:47 No balance. But if you were – if we were talking about Cleveland right now with Baker Mayfield, like knowing that they're dominant running. team and Baker come out there and make a couple of players. If they come out and get jumped on and the Browns look terrible, we'd be sitting here like, man, hey, he got jumped on. They took, but you talk like this dude, Justin Herbert has been in the MVP conversation on the way he been throwing the football.
Starting point is 00:11:09 It's his first little taste of adversity, though. You know what I'm saying? So that was, that was the shocking thing to me is how they looked even though you got jumped on because you are a passing team. Teams know, like teams don't come off the bus saying, oh, they're going to run this thing down our throat. But at least the balance helps you, like, Ryan, you can speak to this better than I can. Like taking a false step here and there or like peeking back there to see if, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Hey, you hand the ball off five times. That's balance if you're to charge his offense. It ain't that bad, man. Because, you know, you know, often, I'm just saying, look, in Buffalo, Buffalo had that thing off five times and they're still coming down on the play action. I got, I got something to talk about Buffalo, too. I got some to talk about Buffalo when we get to that section. But this, this all I'm saying, though.
Starting point is 00:11:53 This is all I'm saying. Austin Echler, Tate's with a grain of salt, he's one of the best running backs in the league right now. I'm not saying, he's not like top five or nothing like that,
Starting point is 00:12:01 but he's, he's one of the better, he's a very good player. Yeah. And this is all I'm saying. Like, last week, they, they was heading the ball off to him. Like, man, this is our,
Starting point is 00:12:11 this is our guy. You know what I'm saying? Then they got jumped on and then they coach, and especially the officer coordinator, they're like, hey, man, we are throwing a team. We're throwing it.
Starting point is 00:12:20 When you get jumped on in the first quarter, you can still run the ball. You know what I'm saying? It's 17 to 6 at half. It's not like it was getting, this time was a blowout. It's 17 to 6.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Yeah, like, they could have definitely still been running the ball at least to the, like, the end of the fourth quarter. You're like, even on fourth and one, you don't run the ball. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, this is what I'm saying? And then you keep throwing it to your receiver that's guarded by their best DB, and he ain't even your best receiver.
Starting point is 00:12:47 Yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying? So, like, I think they just got caught, like, they choke them boys up. Like, hey, what you're going to do about it? What you're going to do by it? The boy's like, hold it's a bad day. Y'all got it.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Y'all got it. Let me ask y'all this. Would you chalk that up to it being just a bad day or this is more of what they truly are than we'd like to admit? The charges. I think it's a bad day. I think it's a bad day.
Starting point is 00:13:11 I'll lean to a bad day. James? I'm going to lean to a bad day because I believe the charges are a very good football team. Now, do I think, like Ryan thinks that they could beat the Ravens again when they see him again? I do think the game will be. closer, but I don't think they'll beat the Ravens the way I seen because they had no answer for Lamar Jackson. Absolutely none. Now, as you watch this film, they're going to watch the
Starting point is 00:13:32 same thing. I've watched. You see Jared Cook drop a couple wide open passes. You see Kenan Allen drop a couple passes. So, you know, it was stuff in that game where it's like, dang, that's a third down conversion, keep the drive going. We might mess around, get points out of there, and it's 17, 12, or something. You know what I mean? So as you go watch this film, you'll know how close you are and you'll know if we just got beat down or we got a lot of work to do. But I'm not going to lie. When Ravens play good teams and they get jumped on like that, they don't look good either, though.
Starting point is 00:14:00 They don't. You know what I'm saying? Like, everybody see the Ravens because them boys playing in the front. Like, they front runners. When they, when they, when they, when they plan from behind, we're going over what we see right now, though, and that's five and one. No, no, I know that. I know that.
Starting point is 00:14:14 I know that. You're right. You're right. I'm just saying. No, credit to them. I mean, I mean, all the injuries like you mentioned. No, no, no, no, no, they're They're balling.
Starting point is 00:14:21 No, no, I'm giving them credit, but I'm saying when they get jumped on as well by good teams, the Colts aren't a good team. When they get jumped on by good teams, like if the charges jump on them like that, the Ravens would have played a totally different game. But that's what I'm saying. See, the Ravens are built to run it.
Starting point is 00:14:37 So hopefully that's everybody's game plan to try to come up there and jump on the Ravens because Lamar Jackson, 90% of the time, is not going to throw you out of it if you jump. And then if you run into the ball, like the Ravens, man, they eat up. five, six, seven minutes every time they touch the ball. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:14:55 So if you jump up on the Ravens, that should absolutely be the game plan. If the Ravens jump up on you, good luck. Because once they get the ball back, LeBarr, you ain't getting it back for seven minutes, even if they were in full plays. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? A 10 point lead is like a 20 point lead
Starting point is 00:15:11 with them when they grind it out like that. But I just, I thought, forget the Chargers' offense. I thought this Chargers defense was going to play better. You know what I mean? Like, when you look at this Chargers defense, they fast, they're athletic. You're like, okay, this Chargers defense is going to step up and make it hard on Lamar. Lamar said, man, y'all boys watch out, man. I mean, Cleveland put 42 on them, right?
Starting point is 00:15:32 It's real out here. Yeah, Cleveland put 42 on them. But like I said, that's that two-headed monster in the backfield. Kareem hunting, Nick Chubb went off. Yeah. So now. It might be just a run defense, though. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Because they picked Lamar off twice now. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, they passed defense. like that. So it might be the run. So how are you confident in them winning, Ryan, if they run defense can't stop the run against the ratings? Because let me say this.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Hey, they stopped them the first time. I promise you, what's his name, Everett, whatever the corner name, he ain't standing up at the second time. Keenan Allen going to cook that boy. Like the corner for the Ravens, he's not standing up a second time. And I promise you... Anthony Averett.
Starting point is 00:16:21 He's not standing up a second time. I don't know how he stood up the first time versus came in out. What did you see, Ryan, it makes you feel that way, though, in terms of what he was doing out there? No, no, I'm just saying, like, they DBs. Like, their DBs are good, but, like, I don't feel like they're going to stand up
Starting point is 00:16:36 in that situation again. Like, it didn't... They're not about to keep throwing the ball to their third best receiver versus the Ravens best receiver. They're going... Brandon said he's a defense of mine, coach, he's going to go back and look at the film.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Like, hey, yo, So Justin and the OC, this is what we dealt with. And next time we play them, this is how we have to handle this. Let's attack this guy, not attack one of the best corners in the damn league. You know what I'm saying? And that's what they've been doing. They was doing that the whole game. The only chance I give the Chargers to beat the Ravens
Starting point is 00:17:08 because I've seen that, like, it was really lopsided. Like, it was a dominated one. The only way I can see them beating the Ravens is somehow I had way, somehow they play again. and this game is in Los Angeles. And it's going to be in Los Angeles. If it's in Baltimore, they don't stand a chance, bro. They don't stand a chance.
Starting point is 00:17:27 So you just mentioned the defensive backfield of the Ravens standing up. Perfect segue to, I don't know what to call them. Is it Trayvon Woodson? Is it Trayvon Sanders? Hell no. Is it, is it Dick Knight Training Lane Diggs? Like, I'm trying to figure out the right name to put on the greatest corner that the world has ever seen in Trayvon Diggs. And obviously, just joking, Trayvon has had a great start to his season, a lot of defensive player of the year, you know, things being thrown at his way.
Starting point is 00:18:10 The Patriots and Cowboys, are you worried that it was that close to game, or are you more enthused that the Cowboys that the Cowboys? came back, Dak Prescott did what he had to do. Like, how are you feeling about what happened in Foxborough? Mac Jones, by the way, I love what Mac Jones has started out with. But, man, I see a future backup quarterback in that dude. And I can't say no shade right now because it seems like there's a lot of shade. But, like, he knows where to throw the ball. He's got great anticipation.
Starting point is 00:18:45 but when it's time to load that thing up and throw a hundred mile an hour fastball or some of the touch throws that I think he missed on in that game, maybe he's just a young quarterback, but I think you got a certain ceiling. Like I think his talent level is capped at a certain level, and I think he's going to be a decent quarterback for a while. But the Cowboys came out, I think, unenthus and uninspired,
Starting point is 00:19:12 and then came back and won the game. Trayvon Deegs had himself, a pick. He got cooked on one route as well and he came back and acknowledged that. But what did you guys think of Patriots versus Cowboys and where does this put the Cowboys, if anywhere, has it moved in your heads? I'm going to let Jane start off on this one because I got a lot to say. Well, first off, just speaking on the game, number one, the Cowboys is arguably, I know everybody's saying the best team in the NFC, even though the Cardinals are 6 and 0. But the Cowboys,
Starting point is 00:19:45 is arguably the best team in the NFL. And the reason why is because number four, Dak Prescott, obviously they got Zeke, they got Tony Pollard, they got a two-headed monster, Trayvon Sanders, whatever his name is, Trayvon Woodson, you know what I mean, he's getting takeaways and taking the football away and getting the ball back to that.
Starting point is 00:20:04 That's a great year. But like the Cowboys, they've dominated teams that they were supposed to dominate. The Cowboys are really one field goal away from being six and no. They should have beat Tampa Bay if it wasn't for the bad situation football at the end of the game
Starting point is 00:20:21 to where they got a penalty shouldn't even been throwing it anyway. Should have handed a thing off three times kicked the field goal won the game. But that's long time ago. But this is arguably the best team in the NFL because they could win any way you want to win. They could win ugly.
Starting point is 00:20:36 They could win pretty. And a quarterback, like I said before, when the ball is in Dak Prescott's hands, I do not feel like Dag Prescott is going to make a bad play. I feel like Dak Prescott is always going to make the right play. Whether he's making a play with his legs, arm, checking into the right play, whatever it may be, I feel like he is going to make the right play.
Starting point is 00:20:57 And the Cowboys are starting to get battle tested, man. Like, I don't care who you play. You know, Ryan, you know, it don't matter who you play. It could be the Baltimore Ravens in the division. It could be the day and Arizona Cardinals out of the division. The Arizona Cardinals can be sorry and y'all can come in there in the dog fighting, come out of there with a W, but it's all about being battle tested.
Starting point is 00:21:17 You know what I mean? And finding ways to win. And that's exactly what the Cowboys are. The Cowboys is a scary team, man. Yeah. You know, they can run it down your throat. They could pass it down your throat. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:21:29 And they're getting takeaways. Like, it don't matter. You can give up a million yards on the defense side of the ball. If you're getting two or three takeaways a game, getting the ball back to your offense, that's all you need to do as a defense. And that's what they're doing right now. The Cowboys is absolutely scary, man. They arguably the best team in the National Football League right now
Starting point is 00:21:47 because their quarterback is playing at an MVP level, at a very high level, having them in every game. And I know my dog want to touch on this because a lot of people are saying Trayvon Sanders and Trayvon Woodson is the defensive player in the year. What you think about that, Ryan? No, I'm not going to lie. Like, I agree with you.
Starting point is 00:22:04 The Cowboys definitely have a squad. See, you see, I'm agreeing with him, Jason. You see that. I did. You know, you being diplomatic, man. I see that in you. You know, yeah. The Cowboys definitely have a squad.
Starting point is 00:22:16 And I think, like you said, they can win either way they can run it, they can pass it. But one thing that is bothering me, like, it's really bothering me because, like, people are like, oh, man, this man about to break the record. And if you break the record, you're a dog.
Starting point is 00:22:29 I'm not, I'm like, you're a dog. It's by, Trevon Diggs with Interceptions. Trayvon did, yeah, you can break the record. But the thing is, like, don't, don't say, oh, Trayvon Island and Diggs Island and all this and that. Like, come on, like, we're going to have to chill out on that.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Because at the day, if it's an island, people ain't throwing at you. People ain't throwing at you. You know what I'm saying? And, like, and he got, before this game, they said Trayvon Dez gave up the fourth most yards in the league. And he just got over a hundred put on him this week. You know what? So you tell him, so if you, if you getting yards put up on you every single week, how is that an island? Is there a difference between the playmaker and a lockdown corner?
Starting point is 00:23:12 Yes, there's a difference. And the thing is, like, a playmaker is a guy that takes advantage of the opportunities that come his way. A lockdown corner is, you don't have no opportunities that come your way. You get bored with the game over there, huh?
Starting point is 00:23:28 You get bored with the game. Like, this man, like, they don't throw the ball to Deion side. Like, Dion, when he called picks, he had to go get it from the other side. Like, because people ain't throwing it his way. Like, for instance, like, Trayvon Dez has the fourth-moor's targets
Starting point is 00:23:41 throwing on him this season. Like, that means I don't fear you. Like, I don't fear you. Like, like, Mac Jones, this man throws the ball to his guy. It tips off his guy. Trayvon did get a pick sick. You know what Mac Jones say? All right.
Starting point is 00:23:57 I'm throwing it back at you, ball. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, they're not doing it. They're not doing that to Jalen Ramsey. They're not doing that. Revis? You're not throwing it to Revis out. Like, people are like, if you, if you, if you're playing against Revis,
Starting point is 00:24:12 It's like, yo, like, hey, man, I'll rock with you, Terrell, but, bro, I ain't throwing it over there, like, I'm not throwing it over there, bro. Like, you're a dog, but he's a dog, too. So if he don't follow you or something, hey, I got you. But, like, to me, you can't give up the most yards and then also have the most picks, and then people say you're the defensive player of the year. Because, like, you take advantage of your opportunities because one thing, every defensive player that's in the secondary, like the back seven, all of them get at least one or two
Starting point is 00:24:42 opportunities a game, all of them. Some people don't take advantage of it, but all of them get one or two a game. 43 passes thrown at him in six games. 42, shoot, I know 42 divided by six is seven. Seven a game.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Seven a game. They throwing that shit at that boy. So that means, that means you get seven chances. You know what I'm saying? Like, most people don't get that many chances. Like, they're not throwing the ball seven times at Revis. And that's all I'm saying. Like, he's a dog and I hope he break the record.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Like, but to me, like, don't, you can't compare this guy to, yeah, you can't compare this guy to Aaron Donald's and Miles Garris and, and TJ Watts. Like, for instance, TJ, when he makes plays, when he make plays, them junks are like, meaningful. Like, that meant, like, they was in field going to be. The man won the overtime. He won the overtime. Right.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Right. That's what I'm saying. Miles Garrett, you know what I'm saying? he getting four, obviously Miles Garrett, he got five sacks versus, you know, the Bears when they started field, so that's a little bit different story. But Aaron Donald, he's showing up when you need them. You know what I'm saying? Like, for me, like, he getting picks, but, like, they're not always when you need them.
Starting point is 00:25:55 Like, that was clutch. He got to pick six. Oh, everybody like, oh, he might have won the game. Then he'd give up a touchdown. Like, for me, it's like, your plays got to really matter for you to be the defensive player of the year. I just want to let Rhino. I agree, man.
Starting point is 00:26:08 All right, all right. There we go. I agree. No, because I've played against Revis. I played against Sherman in his prime. You know what I mean? I played against Ramsey. Like, these are dudes where you watch film on and you're in the film room and you're like,
Starting point is 00:26:24 ooh, we probably should go over to the other side. No matter how much of a dog that you believe you are, like, Aaron could come up to me in the huddle like, can you win on Revis? Absolutely. But in my head, I'm like, ooh, it's going to be tough. You have to run the best route you ever run in your life. And sometimes I'm like, man, I just lied to that boy straight to his face, right? You know what I'm saying? Like, they were problems.
Starting point is 00:26:48 Yeah, they was problems. You know what I'm saying? You know, as a receiver, yeah, you're confident. You're always going to feel like you can make the play. But you don't come into a game. And like Ryan said, Revis and Ramsey and Sherman in their prime going to get seven throws at them again. They're going to be lucky if they get two. Right.
Starting point is 00:27:09 You know what I'm saying? Especially over a lot. long season, especially if they get one, they might not see another one the whole game. They're not going to see another one the next play. You know what I'm saying? So with that being said, when these teams are watching film, they are saying, in my head,
Starting point is 00:27:30 in my opinion, he ain't like that. You know what I'm saying? Because for him, for him to keep getting all these targets at him, They saying that, okay, we can win over here. He's not like that. Now, at what point does that stop, though? Hold on. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:27:46 What points does that stop though? Kudos to him, because he could, he's, he's letting it be known to the world that keep saying I ain't like that and keep throwing it over here. And this thing going to keep getting picked off. You know what I'm saying? So he's doing his part. I'm not saying that. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:28:02 But what I am saying is you cannot put him in that category yet, you know, with these top dudes. I'd have played against the Woodson's, played with the Woodson's. and all that, like these dudes was dominant locked down corners. I cannot put him in that category yet. You know what I'm saying? Is he making plays? Absolutely, but I cannot put him in that category.
Starting point is 00:28:22 And obviously the teams that he's playing with are playing against is not putting him in that category. And then when you talk defensive player the year, you just talk about a guy that truly, guys that truly wrecked games. You know what I'm saying? If you're not double-teaming, triple team, and T.J. Watt and Aaron Donald,
Starting point is 00:28:41 they're going to wreck the game. Miles Garrett is going to wreck the game. You know what I'm saying? Like, so it's tough. He's having a great year, nothing taken away from him. You know what I'm saying? Like, teams should start thinking about throwing away from them
Starting point is 00:28:57 if you're going to keep picking the thing off. But when you talk about T.J. Y, Aaron, Donald, Miles Garrett, and guys like that, they are double-teamed and triple-teamed every play. And if they're not, just like the Seahawks found, out in overtime, being stupid, not chippiny, wreck the game. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:29:16 So it's tough to give them defensive player the year over those guys because, like I said, those dudes wrecked the game. I'm looking at, I'm looking at stats right now. I mean, it was one year. This man, Revis got 57 targets in the whole year. Man, like, 84 targets in the whole year. Like, come on. That's a lot.
Starting point is 00:29:38 I mean, like, I'm not throwing it to this guy, like, at all. You know what I'm saying? So it's going to be hard for me to say somebody like that, you know what I'm saying? And you get in 40 and six games, you know what I'm saying? Like, that's a lot. That's a lot. Monday night football last night. It was, you know, a wild affair.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Was it seven lead changes in the game? The Titans beat my bills. You know, ever since I mentioned the bills, best team the NFC, in the last couple of weeks, it's been a little shaky. Derek Henry, man, you know, I remember a time when running backs got the ball 300 plus times a year, and then they had six, seven-year careers, and now we've got the running back by committee joint going on.
Starting point is 00:30:24 And then Derek Henry pops his head in there where he's running the football 350 times a damn year. It don't seem like he's slowing down. He had the fastest time in terms of miles per hour from the next-gen stats of any player in the NFL this season with the 75-yard touchdown run that he had to start the game for the Tennessee Titans. Get a buck 43, three touchdowns, 34 to 31 victory in a thrilling game over the Buffalo Bills. Tennessee Titans have been a team we talked about on this show the first couple of weeks.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Like, I was going on with them. They're supposed to be a dark course, AFC contender. It seems like they're finding their stride, even though they are banged up. Like, they got so many people hurt on that team. The rookie Farley went out with the knee injury. Taylor Luan got carted off. They got like 15, 16 guys on the injured list. So we'll see what these next few weeks look like for them.
Starting point is 00:31:14 But the Monday night football game, you guys' thoughts. And can Derek Henry be to do the non-quarterback MVP that we need to be talking about here? Because I'm expecting to slowdown at some point, but they're going to keep giving it to them 300 times a year and see, you know, see how long he can last. Man, I'm not going to lie. The bills are who I thought the bills were. You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah. And the reason I say that,
Starting point is 00:31:40 now the reason I say that, man, like who they really played, man? Like, they played some, they haven't been playing good teams, honestly. Like, like, and then the one good team they did play, you know, and I'm not going to,
Starting point is 00:31:51 there still is a decent team. Like, we're good. But I'm saying, like, but the one good team that they played that was defensive-wise, the two teams that were decent at defense, they lost two.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Everybody else was garbage, are they terrible defense? Like, and that's, and that's, they had the number one office, number one defense, but if you're playing nobody on offense and then your defense playing people that can't score, you're going to have the number one offense and number one defense.
Starting point is 00:32:16 You know what I'm saying? So, like, I think the bills are a good team. I think they're going to make it far, but I don't, it's hard for me to say that they're like that, you know, because like you said, battle tested, they're not battle tested. You plan the Houston, Texans, and the dolphins, like, come on, bro. Yeah. Like, you know, so that's all I'm saying. No, but Derek Henry, yeah, he's that.
Starting point is 00:32:36 that guy, it's about time that we start giving other people MVP than just quarterbacks because there's other guys out here that actually the best guys in the NFL and they're not quarterbacks. Like, Darren Henry, how many times he has to do this to show that a-old? Man. I'm literally like that. Like, I'm really, like, one of the best guys out here. Like, you give me the ball 30 times, I'm going for over 100.
Starting point is 00:32:56 It might be going for 150, 180. Like, guys don't do that no more. Like, Nick Chubbs, like, ain't going for 180 on people. Like, you know what I'm saying? I know he's backed by committee. but at the day, like, he's not really doing that. You know what I'm? And Derry, the thing is that's so crazy about Derry
Starting point is 00:33:13 everybody in the stadium know he getting the ball. Like everybody. And you know what he do? He bounced off one tackle and then go for 80. It's like, come on, bro, you got to do better. And that is why, and I'm going to start off with that right there. That is why he is the MVP in the league, are definitely should be up there in consideration.
Starting point is 00:33:37 And not top five. The man should be one, two or three right now in consideration. Because everybody in the stadium knows that he's going to get the ball. Quarterbacks win the MVP because they are the best player on their team by far. They make their team better. Like when you look at MVP's, can you win without Aaron Rogers? No. Can you win without Tom Brady?
Starting point is 00:34:03 No. Can you win without Lamar Jackson? No. Can you win without Carla Murray? No. Can you win without Derek Henry? No. You cannot win without Derek.
Starting point is 00:34:15 He is the best player on your football team. He makes your team better. Ryan, it is 10 dudes in the box. It is Julio Jones and A.J. Brown out here. Two of the baddest man in the world. And you still running this ball. And everybody still knows that they're about to run. the ball and he is getting five yards of pop every single time.
Starting point is 00:34:39 You know what I mean? Like that game last night, like I'm sitting here and I know that the MVP is a quarterback quarterback award, but I'm sitting there watching that game last night and I'm saying, how do we not get this to this man if he keeps this up? But why is MVP a quarterback award though? Well, I'm just, nobody made it a quarterback award. No, I'm saying, but that's how it is now, though. But I mean, usually on great teams or teams that win enough games,
Starting point is 00:35:03 The quarterback is the best play. Like, it's tough to say Derek Henry's an MVP over Patrick Mahomes the last couple years for what Pat has done. You know what I'm saying? And let, like, he has. He has, but the records better. The records better for Pat. You know who the most important person in the building is, though, right?
Starting point is 00:35:23 But that's why I'm starting to put Derek Henry in there because Ryan Tannahill is not like that. And that's why the Tennessee tie. He's top 10. No, not. That's why the Tennessee Titans snoutoff, right? This podcast just went from an hour to three hours. Quick, what this man?
Starting point is 00:35:42 Yeah. Maybe you're top 10 rappers, man. He ain't no top 10 quarterman. Like, that's why the Tennessee Titans have a limited ceiling to me, too. Like, I loved watching Derek Henry do this, but in the playoffs roll around, you go go find some defensive quarter. They're going to be like, all right, Ryan, you go ahead and beat us. That's what Buffalo said.
Starting point is 00:36:03 You know, Buffalo said we taking Derek Henry away and they could not. Like, it was eight, nine in the box every play. And then the thing that I was happy about for the Titans when Tannenhill had to make a throw, he made a throw. You know what I'm saying? And this is not even with a healthy Julio Jones. I mean, he pulled his hamstring again. AJ Brown is just starting to get healthy.
Starting point is 00:36:26 But if you want to put nine in the box and you go, you've seen in the second half, AJ Brown was wide open the whole time. anybody can make those throws. You know what I'm saying? So that's a good thing. So this Tennessee team, man, showed up last night and let the AFC know that we're here, we're going to be here.
Starting point is 00:36:44 They let the AFC know that they're going to be beat in the first round of the playoffs. You know who might be beat. Come on, James. Hold off. You think, you agree, I agree. You betting on Ryan Tannenhill to go far in the NFL playoffs. You betting on the AFC championship, bro? I'm betting on King Henry.
Starting point is 00:37:01 Not Ryan Tanner Hill. But they bottled him up for, he had one run of 76 yards. He finished with, what, a buck 43. So that's what, like 19 carries for 68 yards the rest of the game? Like, was I the only one that's seen the second half?
Starting point is 00:37:17 Derek, Derek Henry wore these boys out. He did. He did. But he popped a big one early. He did pop. But that's part of stopping him. It is. I understand.
Starting point is 00:37:28 Play action, too. They developed that play action. It was over. But that's what I'm saying. I'm saying like 75 yards. So y'all take the Titans, I'll take the rest of the AFC and we'll see who wins. No, hell no, I ain't doing that.
Starting point is 00:37:38 Don't tell you. Don't your 14-game parlay out there, Ryan. Come on, baby. This is what I'm saying, though. Buffalo in trouble. And Buffalo might be, Buffalo might be out. No, listen, Buffalo might be out in the first round of the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:37:52 Because like Ryan said before he started this whole talk, they played the Steelers, a good defense, they played the Titans who got an okay defense, right? If they do not find a run game, it is going to be an early exit. I agree with you. They need to find some type of run game to where they say,
Starting point is 00:38:13 we got a running back that we can hand it off to 10 times to at least, and he going to make a little something happen to honor this run. If they don't, it is going to be problems for the Buffalo Bills when they run into teams that can score and move the ball and the defense is solid if they can't run.
Starting point is 00:38:30 They were acting like Zach Masters that guy, too. Like, guess who they're going to run into the first round? And that's what, and that's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:38:39 The team that struggle with Gino Smith. That's, that's who they're going to run into. You know what I'm saying? We'll beat him again, though. We'll beat them again, though. I don't know. I'm just saying, if you look at,
Starting point is 00:38:49 if you look at the top teams in the AFC, give them to me. All right, we look at, we look at. Oh, let me, let me pull up the standards real quick so I can make this. No, I'm just, I'm going off of what, I'm going off of what I think.
Starting point is 00:39:01 No, I know. Yeah. You got the Ravens. Okay. This is no, in no order, right? This is no order. Okay. No order.
Starting point is 00:39:09 You got the Ravens. Okay. You have the Chargers. Okay. You have the Titans. Ooh, we're getting thin now. No. You have the Chiefs who are still going to be there.
Starting point is 00:39:22 You have the Chiefs who are still going to be there. Yeah. We're in real. We get real, now you're getting real thin out here now. We're getting thin. So all y'all just disrespect Patrick Mahomes. I'm not disrespect. Patrick Mahomes, the man.
Starting point is 00:39:36 But he's throwing a lot of picks because that defense is trash. They defense worse than college defenses, man. That's the Kansas City Sooners out here. They defense going to give up a lot because the offense is dominant. They're in the big twill right now, man. Yeah. See, look at it. The man started his argument about how stacked the MC is.
Starting point is 00:39:57 We already at the Chiefs. I ain't saying how stacked it is. But, I mean, Ryan over here talking about the Steelers is going to be in the playoffs. The Chiefs are smash the Steelers. No, sir. No, sir. No, sir. I don't know if smash.
Starting point is 00:40:12 I don't know if they're smash. First of all, all we got to get the ball of Najee Harris. They can't stop anybody. So, as long as we get the ball of Najee Harris, we're solid. Yeah, but the times that Najee don't have a ball. It's slim picking time. Man, your man was out there. He was, I heard the, I heard the, the, the, the, the, the,
Starting point is 00:40:30 Benny Hill, you remember the Benny Hill show back in the day? I heard the Harlem Globe try the music when he was bump faked and threw the ball into the ground. And you know what that looked like? That looked like the film at the end of your career that they show you just bumbling and stumbling all over. I was like, hey, Ben might be super cooked. But he missed the team, though. The bengals, though, for real. The bengles like that.
Starting point is 00:40:51 The bangles is going to be problems, too. The bangles is a good team. Jojo Burrow, Joe Mix. I got to see it. They got a good team. But the Bills is in trouble if they can't find a run game. You just have. You just help me.
Starting point is 00:41:01 They can't be the Browns. They can't be the Browns. They can't be the Browns. The Browns can't stop a cold. So you believe you stop a running nose. You more of a believer in the Browns than you are the Chiefs or Pat? Not me.
Starting point is 00:41:13 You, Ryan. Oh, yeah, yeah, for sure, for sure. The Browns did Pat. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Oh, my Lord. Have mercy. All right.
Starting point is 00:41:21 And this has been the Tuesday edition of the end. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. You just see. Ryan, Tripp. You just seeing them boys lose to the charges 40 to 49.
Starting point is 00:41:36 Then you just see them boys come out here to Arizona and lose Molly want. And lose 72 to 13. And you're saying you believe in them more than you do the cheese. Hey, right. Because they can piss you off. Like to be honest with you, you know, if Clyde Edwards and Lairdoll don't fumble, the chiefs only lost one day again. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:41:59 The chief's defense is terrible. Yeah, they always been terrible. They haven't always. They've been less than respectable. They always been terrible. They are utterly disrespectful. James, this is one of the worst defenses I've seen in my lifetime. They defense have always been bad.
Starting point is 00:42:17 It ain't been bad like this, though. Come on, James. Not this bad. Come on, James. You can't say you didn't think Hanicki was going to win that game. You know you thought you thought Hankekekekeke was going to win that game. So don't play. I had no chance being pat, right.
Starting point is 00:42:28 I'm not messing with you. I'm not messing with you. Oh, Lord. See what happens when you bring up, you know, Trayvon Diggs and the Buffalo. I'm starting to see six weeks in there's certain, it's like Peewey's Playhouse is like certain names you can't say without this whole thing going up.
Starting point is 00:42:43 And I believe Trayvon Diggs and the Buffalo bills. This boy, Ryan, said he believe in the Browns more than the Chiefs. You know what that is? The Chiefs give up 50 points a game. Hey, I would have took the Raiders. I ought to took the Raiders over the Browns. You could have said the Raiders first. Duh, you would have taken the Raiders.
Starting point is 00:42:59 I would have said the Broncos over the, over the Brownies. The Brownies the last two weeks, bro, look terrible. Yeah, you're right. And they got, and they still got names on defense. That's the thing. Like, it's not like you and got money on that side of the football. And then coming into this week, they had big, big, big, big trouble. And I'm a bake, bake fan.
Starting point is 00:43:18 And I'm a Brownie fan. But, man, Kareem Hunt down, Nick Chubb banged up, Baker banged up. Ooh. Yeah, it's going to be tough. They play Broncos Thursday night. Oh, yeah. And it's a short week. And guess who they play on Spooky Night?
Starting point is 00:43:35 On Spooky Night. On Spooky Night. Yeah, we get, this joint getting off the rails. At least they got one W coming. There it is. There it is. You wanted to, actually, James, you wanted to get into one of your former team. You know, the Raiders having a tough week and did what they did.
Starting point is 00:43:59 You know, a lot of people think that, you know, this could galvest. the team, dudes out there just trying to still do their jobs, you know, and still have some semblance of normalcy. So what did the Raiders this week show you? Man, this is big time, man, because like I said, you know, early in the week, I said, Coach Gruden, number one, has lost 30 plus games in his brief career with the Raiders, our brief comeback with the Raiders. So I said earlier in a week, he don't catch it.
Starting point is 00:44:29 He don't run it. He don't throw it. He don't block for the run. He don't go sack the quarterback. He don't do none of that. And I said it's all about the guys in the locker room, man, about bouncing back and going to play football. And one thing that football players are special at
Starting point is 00:44:45 is blocking out all the noise and going playing ball. You know, I believe that's why a lot of us started playing football anyway because it was kind of when you step on that field, it's the Wussai aspect that anything and everything that I'm going through off the field and any problems I got off the field, They don't matter once I step in between these lines. I'm out here with my brothers, and I'm going to go to work. And just watching the Raiders play, man, they played hard.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Credit to the assistant head coach, man, they played hard. They fought all game long, man, and they came out there and they got a dub. But that's what I believe. That's probably going to be the turning point in the season. No matter what we go through, fellas, we find ways to win. You know what I mean? If you got confidence like that in the locker room and confidence like that each other, man.
Starting point is 00:45:31 You know what I mean? And they got a lot of talent on their team. Sky's the limit. And if a team like Buffalo got to play them in the first round and they got to go against Josh Jacobs, Derek Carr, is a first round exit, man. Oh, get to me. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:45:43 It's a first round exit, right? Shout out to the Twitter dude who was noticing all the Buffalo shade on this podcast. Hey, hey, bro. Man, ain't this the same man that said, y'all ain't beat nobody. Y'all just beat the Broncos.
Starting point is 00:45:57 And then this is, they come back and beat the Broncos. Yeah, now we're going to give people a tough team. Broncos is about to win on Thursday. The Broncos are a below average team. Broncos is three and no at one point. What they now? What are they now?
Starting point is 00:46:13 What are they now? Rockos was three and O at one point. His man allowed to you strength of schedule when it's on his side. It was three and then when the Broncos start playing somebody. Oh, yeah. So now we're the strongest schedule in the league. So now we're talking strength of schedule, all right?
Starting point is 00:46:27 You two love bringing up. I've never heard people. We'll talk about straight to schedule as much as y'all. It's like a college podcast. We're talking about a stretch of schedule so much. Hey, if the Broncos had Buffalo schedule, they'll be four and two. Come on, bro.
Starting point is 00:46:41 Who the bills got now right now? Right. You hear me? If the Broncos had Buffalo scheduled, there'll be four and two just like the Buffalo. If we had Buffalo schedule, we'd be four and two, too, too. No, you wouldn't.
Starting point is 00:46:53 You got to score points. To win games. No, you wouldn't. Bro, you've seen this week, are 18 point underdogs. Ryan Shazir. 18 points. Ryan Shazir.
Starting point is 00:47:05 You scored 23 points against a team that's begging for you to score points against them on Sunday night football. The Seattle Seahawks is valetian you to the end zone. And you plan to get, shout out to Gino Smith. But by the way, anytime you hear on this show, shout out to somebody, some shade is about to come. But shout out to Gino Smith. Like, y'all had Gino Smith hanging in there.
Starting point is 00:47:29 You know, at Hyde's Field. Knock it off. Hey, where's the James Jones? You play who's out there in it? Hey, Ryan, Ryan, don't let him get, don't let Jason get to. You know what he trying to do? He tried to bring us down to the level. He deflegged him.
Starting point is 00:47:42 No, he tried to bring us down to the level where the bears and stuff. He's trying to take us down there with him. He can't take us down there with him, man. Those are the depths of hell that I would never take my friends. He deflated. Look, look, look, the bills lose. guess who they play next? One in five Dolphins.
Starting point is 00:48:01 Like, come on, bro. And if they lose to them, you're going to be like, see, told you, if they beat them, then they're going to be like, they ain't played. It's a lose, lose situation.
Starting point is 00:48:09 All right, let's get to it, because your man is, your man is in his full Halloween costume movie. I've seen a lot of things as a Bears fan over these last 40 years of my life. You know, the whole rivalry thing,
Starting point is 00:48:24 the oldest rivalry in the NFL, it's cool. It hasn't been a riot. for at least a good decade now. Anytime a team goes from Brett Fav to Aaron Rogers at the quarterback position, and they are your chief competition in the NFC North before that, the NFC Central.
Starting point is 00:48:42 Like Bears fans are, you know, Packer Week, you make all the noise and all that. But I had Mark Tauscher on my podcast. You know, you know, Taosch, James. And talking about... Yeah, you know Taosha. We were talking about it. And when a team in the meeting rooms
Starting point is 00:48:57 is telling each other, All we got to do is make sure the defense and special teams don't score and we're going to get out of here with a win. That's what you know. Your lot in life is cursed for Aaron Rogers to have an average game at best. And then to get into the end zone and say, I still own you to a young lady who was flipping the bird off to him. It's so apropos. It's a microcosm of what the rivalry has been. The defense played well enough.
Starting point is 00:49:26 If you hold Aaron Rogers in the package of 24 points, you think you're going to be in the game or win the game. Unfortunately, Matt Nagy and his offense is built not to score points. Half the games, he's coached as the Bears coach. They've scored 20 points or less in a league that's begging you to score points. So there's nothing I can say, man. You know, I appreciate premium play. I appreciate fantastic players.
Starting point is 00:49:49 I've watched two of them play quarterback for the Green Bay Packers over the last 25 years. I wish we had one as a fan. But yeah, man, ain't nothing. Respect it to check it, right? And if you ain't checking it, you better respect it. And that's what the Bears have had to do when it comes to Aaron Rogers.
Starting point is 00:50:04 And that's why James Jones is out here looking like a sports authority threw up on him. You know what I'm saying? This man looked like he went in looted foot locker after a Green Bay Packer's Super Bowl victory because he got on the whole outfit right now and it's not making me too happy. You know, first off, I want to just say,
Starting point is 00:50:22 you know, kudos to the Bears' defense. I do want to say. And man, don't start off with first off. No, no. First I want to say, kudos to the Bears' defense. No, because the Bears' defense, I mean, they play it at a high level this year. You know, Khalil Mack, Robert Quinn had it going yesterday. And I'm not even going to say they made it hard on the Packers yesterday.
Starting point is 00:50:42 They always make it hard on us. From the Brian Urlacker to the Lance Briggs. You know, they always make it hard on us. But I know the lady had Aaron fired up. But it's true. You know what I mean? The boy 22 and 5 versus the Chicago Bears in his career.
Starting point is 00:51:03 You know what I mean? He does own him. You know what I'm saying? Like, we have owned the Bears. Like, I tell people, I was talking to, it ain't a rivalry no more. Hammer in the nail. It ain't a rivalry no more.
Starting point is 00:51:15 To the Bears bounce back and they start making this thing a rivalry because, yes, the fans get up forward and you hear the Bears fans, all they talk is, we don't care if we go two and 17s. We just want to beat the Packers twice. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:51:30 Like that, like that's their goal. And for the last decade, it's, it's been lopsided. It's not a rivalry no more. You know what I'm saying? Now, the fans try to make it a rivalry. The Bears try to make it a rivalry, how they come out here. But it's been lopsided. And the reason why it's been lopsided is because of number 12.
Starting point is 00:51:50 And before that, number four. Yes. Number four and 12, it's been really, it's been really, it's been really lopsied. side of because of them too. So, hey, the game is about passion, Ryan. Can you hear it in his voice, Ryan? Can you hear this voice? Like, he didn't even talk, right now he ain't even talking about the game no one. It's just a victory lap. He's about hit every cliche in the cliche book. The game is about passion. You need to play four quarters of football. I'm extremely proud of the NFL for having all these mics up.
Starting point is 00:52:20 You know what I mean? So you can hear these players' mics stuff. So you can catch everything. because we would not have heard. And Roger say, I own you, man. And I still own you. The still was the bad part. The still was the bad part. I absolutely love it, man,
Starting point is 00:52:40 because number one, it's true. You know what I'm saying? Number two, you know what I mean? You love to hear him saying. Everybody's thinking it. But you love, you love to hear him come out and say it, man, you know what I'm saying? But no, but I do want to finish it.
Starting point is 00:52:56 with this. Matt Nagy, you are offensive mine. Man. I got my Packer gear on this morning, right? I root for the Packers, but they defense ain't top 10. Man. They defense missing Alexander. They defense missing. King.
Starting point is 00:53:15 Kevin King, the defense missing the Smith brothers. Because one of them got heard early, the other one on the I. You know what I mean? Like, this defense banged up. And number one, you didn't attack none of that. Nothing. Like you have, I love Alan Robinson. I love Mooney.
Starting point is 00:53:35 You know what I mean? I feel like Mooney is going to be an excellent player in this league. But Alan Robinson is a big wire receipt. Can run, can go up, attack the ball. He had a big year last year because he was on the outside and he was playing against smaller corners. and he was going up making these tough catches. You come into the offseason and say,
Starting point is 00:54:01 you know what, we're going to put Allen in the slot. So he could get double teams. So these linebackers can bang him up at the line of scrimmage. So he can't get open that as fast as we want him to get up. What are you doing? And then you put him outside on one route, and it's a 40-yard game. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:54:23 So I was really watching the game, like, what are they doing? Like, yeah, I'm room for the Packers, but I want to see good football too. You know what I'm saying? I want to see the young fella succeed too. You know what I'm saying? And when every time Alan Robinson is outside the numbers, as a number one wide receiver, he make a big time play.
Starting point is 00:54:43 The next play they line up, he in the slot. And I'm like, I really don't know what you're doing because if anything, you're down two backs. So you're not going to run the ball down they throw. You're down to run the back. So the quarterback will have to make some plays with his arm and you allow them to double team Alan Robinson by putting them in the slot every time.
Starting point is 00:55:03 I don't understand it. And you're supposed to be an offensive mind to coach. And like you said, you score less than 20 points a game. Man, this kind of looking very familiar to me. I got nothing to say. Ohio State, Michigan. All right. I'm out.
Starting point is 00:55:17 I am out. I am out. I am out. I grew up a Michigan fan. So I'm out. Ladies gentlemen, We thank you so much. Thank you for listening to the pylon.
Starting point is 00:55:29 I don't say Michiganish to me, man. And the reason I say that, man, like, y'all, man, y'all, y'all can't beat them boys at all. And then it's so funny because Aaron say, I own you, right? And the lady probably didn't know what he said because it's so loud in the stadium. But she's heard it through social media. I own you and I still own you.
Starting point is 00:55:48 And the thing is, for me, like, people are like, man, player shouldn't be able to do this or do that. I'm like, man, you've been talking smack to this man all day. You probably be booing them in all day. So now he gets the opportunity to say what he want to say and let him say it. So I love that he did that. But to me, the Bears show me that they don't trust Justin at all, honestly, because when it comes to offense, you can see that in certain situations,
Starting point is 00:56:14 they don't trust him throwing the ball. And to me, man, I think you just got to believe in a young man. Like, they don't really believe in them. They don't let them air it out, man. And I don't think they can succeed like that. Justin going to get y'all wins because he's just a good quarterback. But at the day, I feel like y'all don't trust them. And if y'all don't trust your quarterback, man,
Starting point is 00:56:32 it's going to be a long season for y'all. Well, I think Justin knows that this is going to be, this won't be his last coaching staff. I think Justin is very aware that as not just a quarterback, but just a smart human being. I think he is reading the room right now and understanding this ain't it. This ain't it.
Starting point is 00:56:50 Hey, Justin in there like, used to be Ryan, man, so who you think gonna be out of here, man? Like, you know, hey, who they, you know? Like, man, we got, hey, we got all these linebackers, yeah, they're probably gonna cut him, watch. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You definitely know.
Starting point is 00:57:05 Yeah, Justin sitting in his locker, like, man, what coaches is out there? Yeah, you just walking up to coaches like, hey, you, you rent or you own? That boy, that boy looking at all the, you're looking at all the best, best office of teams and looking like, all right, This might be my head coach.
Starting point is 00:57:24 Right. For real. Hey, who won't Sean McVeystaff? Right. Who's even had lunch with Sean McVey? You know what I'm saying? I can get you a gig too, by the way. All right.
Starting point is 00:57:36 All right. So I'm glad we ended the pod with the pain for me. You know, we spend the wheel on this podcast. It's somebody's day every, every Tuesday. And this Tuesday, it happened to be my day because Chicago Bears and the Michigan Wolverines haven't been very good as of late, especially when it comes to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Boy, boy, boy.
Starting point is 00:57:56 I love seeing y'all. Y'all make my Tuesday brighter every single Tuesday. James Jones, Ryan Shazier, I'm Jason Gough. This has been a beatdown of my ego and my Buffalo Bills and my Chicago Bears and any other team that I think is okay because these young men don't like from any happiness of success to come my way.
Starting point is 00:58:16 Yeah, man. This was good, though. This was cool. Y'all let the world know that Trayvon Diggs, really a good corner. Y'all let the world know that the Buffalo Bills ain't really good. Apparently, Ryan Shazir thinks the Cleveland Brown still got something to hang their hat on after giving up 92 points a game over the last couple of games.
Starting point is 00:58:35 And James Jones has found a renewed love for the Green Bay Packers, as you can not see by the outfit that he's wearing. Although, I did put it on Twitter for people to see. That man got the old school winning breath of two, boy. He got the vintage joint out of here. I know. For James Jones, Ryan Shazzy, I'm Jason Gough. Coming up next on The Ringer NFL show is Kevin Clark talking about Matt Stafford and those Los Angeles Rams.
