If somebody quotes bangers, I'm going to end this recording right. now. All right. Let's get into it. Season finale, Gen V. Guys,

what did we think? It was good. It was really good. I liked it. Episode 7, you know, comes in after, like, the whole, you know,

being in Kate's mind. And so, like, we're back to real life and trying to make things happen. And we finally get, like, not like the whole truth behind the woods,

but a very meaty, you know, description of what is going on back there. And they're taking people to the woods. They're experimenting on them. And Shetty is working on the, what's basically like a bio weapon right for soups and things like that.

And so we get a very, very, very much in detail. Okay, this is kind of what the woods is actually about. And then episode A is basically like a, you know, free for all, brawl, you know what I mean? Like we get all the people escaping and, you know, we'll talk a little bit about a lot. like Kate's turn in specifically. But I enjoyed it.

I thought, when I first saw the runtime of the finale, I was like, uh-oh. This is a, it's only like 35 minutes. Literally the shortest episode of the season. I didn't notice. I was like, I don't know. It's one of those things you notice when you do Marvel stuff, right? Because we've been in the trenches for a minute.

We know that. You know, like the first like four episodes would be like 40, 45 minutes. Then episode six is like 55 minutes. Then episode six is like 30 minutes. Yeah. It's the Secret Invasion. Exactly. The pilot for Secret Invasion was like an hour and then slowly started going down to like 28 minutes.

Yeah. You know? And so I was a little worried, but I thought it did a pretty good job. Like, again, because we get all that exposition, episode seven. So episode A, just like, all right, man, we throwing hands. And yeah, I really, really enjoyed where we ended off this season. What about you, Jess? The second to last episode was phenomenal.

I was blown away. I was obsessed. the reason why I said the second to last and not the last episode is because I'm having a hard time coming to terms with this is a show and it's fictional This is not a documentary These are real people I watched it and

With my roommate and Olivia And when it was done They were like trying to talk to me about it And I was like no don't talk to me right now And they were like no Jessica I was like no no I'm serious Don't talk to me right now Because I'm so livid

And I think if a show did that to me It's a great show I mean, yes, it's very good at playing to very good emotional beats and really letting you hate characters that are purely hateable. And it like, I have one thing to say and then one question, and tell me if we're going to answer the question later. Actually, I'll start with the question. Do we know exactly when it takes place?

So at the finale, we have HomeLander doing that scene, and that's where I was like, oh, has Home Linder already stolen his kid yet? No, it's between a... season three and four, it's after season three, because they mentioned about the guy he lasered at the end of season three. Yes, right? So it's after season three.

That's right. Okay, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. That's what I was wondering, because I was like, he's playing a ballsy game for someone that just stole a kid and just flew away and just like kind of was a bitch at the end of his season. But now he did that. So that makes more sense that he's also being clearly racist and problematic at the end.

What else do you expect? Exactly. And that was like the part that I did love and hate. I hate more than anything. I hate more than anything, but I love that it's like it just came back around. The same thing that happened with the coach. It was just like, hey, you guys don't matter. We're going to make these people and lift them up because we don't care about you guys.

Right. And I was like, as hard as a black girl watching this and being like, that's the hero. Those are the heroes. That's that shit. Please stop this shit. Stop this circle. And that's why I believe Kate's actually dead. I don't think she's alive.

I think she's actually dead. Interesting. Interesting. Okay, so, I mean, a lot to cover come the end of that, but let's start back at the beginning. Yes. Kate frees everybody in the woods. Are we for it or against it? I don't know if I'm really for it.

I really don't know. Those are some dangerous kids. And they really murdered a lot of people. You said lock them back up? I didn't say that. I just said, get him some help. Steve's pro-prison. That's crazy.

I'm just anti-murder. Steve. I think so it's interesting because she frees all the people from the woods. And normally, like, that's cool, right? Hey, go on, live your life, you know, go see the sun, you know, goodbye. But she militarizes them against the people. Yeah. X-Men.

She X-Men did. And I love it, but I ate it. I don't like that. So here's the thing. It's not that. didn't like it. I kind of feel like so in episode seven everybody's like hey man

like you were kind of wilding back there like we don't really trust you you know we do need you to help us get through this but like ah we're gonna take a couple steps back and she takes into our own hands and makes Shady kill herself

rest in peace to Shady she's had a tough life but pack watch comes for us all you know I love it when God tells you that at the pearly gates. Packwalks comes for us all. God's up there like, yeah, smoking that shady pack.

Like, it's tough, you know. Nothing I could do. Tough like that is what it is. But yeah, she gets her out of there. And I'm thinking like, oh, Kate is, like, she feels so bad about what happened to her friends and what she did to her friends that she's coming all the way around.

Right? And it's like, yeah, you know, too far in the sense of like, I did jaw dirty, so I'm going to go, I'm going to do all I can. But I'm still going to rob you of your free will to make you do what I want. Right? Which is, which I'm kind of bumping up against it. It's the one thing in the last two episodes, and I mean, basically in the entire season, that I'm kind of bumping up against because if, if, because she talks to Andre and she's like, hey, I want us to be together. I love you.

I'm doing this because of you, like, which completely makes sense. By the same time, she's also mentioning about like, you know, we're better than humans, you know, like, soon. you know, super supremacy. You know what I'm saying? Which was very much like a Sam thing. And that happened for Sam. She wasn't really there. Was she?

My trip in? She wasn't there when Sam was at that. Really? Right. But I also think it's just Kate being like, she was raised with her mom that immediately disowned her because she got her brother to leave. And then she's just taken to this other woman who she thinks loves her and is like, I do love you.

But also at the end of the day, I want to murder all of you guys. And so she's lost trust fully in all humans. and she's like, they've only been there to kill us. Why are we allowing this happen? I don't stand for what Kate's doing. When she did kill Shetty, though, I was like, I was so confused at why they were mad. I was like, wait, didn't you guys all want to kill her? I mean, well, you need evidence if you want to like get this.

Well, they had it, right? From the doctor coming in, they were obviously hiding under the desk. It's so obviously. I was like, this ain't even Scooby-Doo hiding. You guys are just out in the open. You got to remember the dude was drunk, so he, like, wasn't paying. I mean, he literally peed into her cup of brandy or whatever. Yeah.

Yeah. But I understood. That justification was like clearly just there that like, yeah, Kate doesn't like people. People are like humans, non-supes. Because soups have been there for her. Her friends have been there for her. They're like her boyfriend's been there for her. But this guy, like these two humans in her life that made such a huge,

there were her mother. Don't weren't there for her. And I think that there's like what I genuinely like, I don't like this. But like I like the idea. that this makes sense for her character, that she doesn't even take the time to try to really get people on her side, like, philosophically, because when your superpower is to get people to do whatever you want,

all you need to do is to convince them to get within touching distance of you. And I feel like what makes sense for her character is to only placate and act like she cares about what any other person might want, only to just get this close to touch you and get you to do what you want. I think that that shows like a lack of emotional depth because of how she's grown up and what she's had to deal with for the rest of her life that she won't bother like actually trying to get people to understand her because she doesn't need people to understand her. She just needs to manipulate. Do you think that the pills that they had her taking was also to suppress her emotions, not just to suppress her powers? Likely. And I think that there's even if that wasn't exactly like the like on the page script reason, like the metaphor and like the, you know, mirrored metaphor is still there.

Yeah. Because I was constantly like, once she got rid of the medication, she started becoming like too empowered. She was like, you know what? No, you guys aren't listening. But it was also that she could hear other people's thoughts. Because there was a moment where she like had to stop for a minute to really stop the thoughts without the medication.

And I think not only hearing everyone all the time has made her like driven her crazy, it was also knowing their truths and being like, no, even if you say you believe me, there's that 2% of you that doesn't, I hear it. That's why we're not friends. And that's also, like, again, I don't want to harp on, like, the weird things

that, like, the show is trying to make a metaphor out of, but then, like, that idea of, like, being more powerful when off your meds, and then, like, being, like, I don't want to, like, draw too much of analogy of those things, but, like, you can kind of see where that's going,

especially with young people. Yeah, I see that. How that can, like, look a bit odd for Kate. But like knowing that she's like we understand so much about her character come the end of this season that I genuinely like

the turn that she's had come the season finale. And hopefully her being another great heel for season two. Hopefully she's not dead. I just think that they wouldn't kill Sam. I don't think she's dead. I don't think she might be

because Sam at least will just listen, especially because we don't know how long he's not going to have. feeling because she took it away. It never had a time limit. That's another crazy thing where I'm like, we need to know the rules about that. Because did you just like pacifies him to, do you just cure him of his schizophrenia? He's just a sociopath now.

Right. And that sociopathy with a character like Sam, who all we've known is the fact that he is actively battling that psychosis and those things in his head to just take that away. we need to know what that means for him like very intimately come season two. If that's just going to wear off at some point or is that now

permanent, we don't know. I don't think it does wear off. I don't know. I think that might be their next arc or not the arc for like the entire story but the arc for Sam is that it doesn't wear off. And so why would he have a problem being in a cage or being rose on this pedestal

or do anything? Like he doesn't care to it. So I think that's why I'm like, I think Kate might be dead because she's still emotionally driven to be like, no, even if we are heroes, I'm going to go kill Ashley. Like, I'm going to go murder her. And so that's why I think she might be dead, but Sam might be like inside VOT somewhere, either being worked on still or they're trying to make him become like a member of the seven for the fourth season. I mean, I'll be funny. I mean, I'm interesting to say. I think what is the season ends like, you know, what it cuts to black, right?

And then we're like, yo, the Guardians of Godolkin. Not those colored people. No, no, no. These two white people. I don't even. Like, they are the guardians. And like, you know, it's a classic VOT spin that we've seen, you know, hundreds of times.

Yes. And the boys. And even in this show where they take something that happens and they, you know, do the manufacture, the narrative machine, manufacture something that's good for them. And like you said, like, I don't, I don't think Kate's dead. But I'm interested she, like, they kind of have to, like, probably. them up. If they're like, the guardians are at, oh, man, they went on a trip to space and

they died on their way there, you know? Like, not really. Like, you'd have to like, man, if we find out that Kate's on the moon as a secret day towards Marvel. Doesn't have an, is there anyone from the comics that was like Kate that just, like, didn't have an arm and had those abilities? Because her arm's gone. Yeah.

It got blown off. Well, she got two. She got two hands. She got the other one. Yeah, she has the other one. Yeah. That's why I said she just, do we know anyone from the comic that has one arm? Oh, I don't know.

Bucky has one arm, but... That's not in the... That's not these comics. Not the boys' comics. What if they gave for like a real robot arm? I think they will. Winter Soldier type arm. I'd imagine so.

They make fun of... That's a good way to make fun of the MCU. Now that you told me the timeline, I can't stop thinking, like, what have we seen from the last season with Soldier Boy that would put Sam in it? And Kate. And also, to be fair,

I started making up as many theories against them actually being the guards of Godolkin, Sam and Kate, because I was so black, like, eyes red, mad at the whole situation that I was like, okay, we need to remember that is that guy from fake Fox News that is reporting it. We also need to remember that it's all we're seeing is a television screen with Homeland or looking at it.

So it could be, like, not on air yet, something he's forcing that guy to read, that he wants to make sure it gets published, it hasn't come out yet. And that's kind of my biggest frustration with the end of this, is that we the audience don't know the truth. Yeah, we don't yet. And I would like to end a season on knowing what actually happened

so that we know what is going to go forward for season two. That's an L-take. Well, what we do know is that they're definitely locked up in that white room with no doors. Right. And no windows. Yes. And like that's a fine enough cliffhanger. That I'm fine with.

But to know that like... That's an L-take. Fine. It could be an L-take. But if it's the fact that... that it just cuts to black and then we have the cover-up story that we are going to be used to,

it kind of harkened back to that one episode where everybody lost their memory and they had to spend an entire episode getting that memory back just to know what happened come the end of that. When we thought that, like, oh my God, did we skip an episode

for some reason? Did we miss something? I'd like to know that we were just not left in the dark until to wait to season two. I feel like that's ripping out the rug a little bit too much out from under us. I completely disagree.

Okay, and that's great. And tell me why. You know, it's a, where you don't work in in the second season, right? You do that to set up the stakes for season two, right? So the episode, so they have that moment where Kate is switching out to Jordan and like we see Marie, who's never done this before, like blow up our arm. Right? And the Homelander lands. She means to stop her.

Yeah, you know, Homelander lands. And then he lasers Marie and goes dark. Okay. And then we see the homelander Fox News guy. Right. And then we cut to our homies in the windowless, doorless room. I find that to be very interesting because it's like, yo, what happened after Marie got lasered? How did they get into that room?

And then how will they get out? I'm locked in. That sets up something, an exciting premise for next year, right? Or whenever it comes out because these shows don't come out. year anymore. They came out eight years. Right. And I think that that's, that's kind of where I, in the back of my head, like, pessimistically

bump on that because I'm kind of like slightly tired of having an entire plotline waiting for X amount of time just to lead up to that one thing, only to like seemingly have that wrapped up in, what, 20 minutes of episode one? That's how, that's how stories work, though. It's how, no, it's not how they have to work. It's just how they've been working. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Did you forget how television works for a second?

I mean, when we only watch Marvel, kind of. I was about to say. I mean, like, again, and like, I keep doing it. Like, I'm sorry, I keep having to bring this up. But this is how, like, Marvel's Ages of Shield works. Like, this stuff would happen. Then they, like, literally, at the end of season two, they, um, what's her name? Gemma, spoiler alert for Season 2 of Age of Shield.

Oh, my God. Yes. Who could forget, Jess? She got like, there was a rock, and she got, like, the rock literally, like, turned to liquid enveloped her and stay back. Like, we were left for, I guess, yeah, like, maybe like a couple months, maybe, because, and we're like, yo, what happened to Gemma? Like, these things happen across television all the time,

where you're like, things happen and you're left to wonder, okay, what happened? Like, you know, like a cliffhanger's a cliffhanger. I understand. I don't know why you're... I'm not bumping on the idea. of a cliffhanger to end the episode. You cut on, though, because, like, the episode ends, like, ambiguously, and we're supposed to wonder, oh, how, like, what happened in between these moments to where we see the guys,

the characters in this box, how do they get here? Right. And I just feel like there are one too many questions left unanswered come the end of this season finale. And I could be... Like what? It's the idea of what all happens on the campus, why the cover-up is chosen to... prop up only Sam and Kate

why they're back in that room. Did you watch the show? No. Well, I get where you're... I'm so confused about your questions. I get where the quarrel is with how it ends. I think this... And it's not like...

I don't think that it's a bad way to end it. I think it's more of just like I would... I prefer to know a little bit more come the end of a season finale to make it feel more satisfying. Which is understandable. It's just I don't think it will ever happen. for A, the boys, because the boys don't do that.

Yeah, I know. And the boys will leave you, they'll just shoot the main character in the head, and then it goes to black, and then we have to wait four years. And I think they're still on brand with that kind. They're like, oh, we want a million things for you to be like, what the hell?

But it's also a superhero show. And superhero shows now know that people are making videos of theories. I know. It gets more conversation if you have all these theories. Like, even me asking Jomi, like, oh, because now we know where the timeline is, where is Sam or Kate in the fourth season that we can go back to in,

find them. They know that's going to create more talk, more stir, and so I think it always will end like... And not to get too meta about what the boys like should be or like the whole like philosophy of what the boys is, but like knowing that the idea of what the boys started with or what

this universe is kind of doing is the idea that it's turning what Marvel is now or what DC is now on its head to kind of look at it in the most either like pessimistic or satirical ways about it. To know that like the structures of their seasons are now kind of mirroring the things that we've been watching already,

I was like, ah, like, it's true, but also I don't like that, but also it's true. It's the bit. It's the bit, and it has to stay to mapping to that even specificness of, like, or specificity, that it's like, hey, even our times are going to be the same. And I'm not saying that that's not without skill. Like, it's done very well. I just, I was like, oh, I wish I could have had a little bit more. Well, I mean, in terms of like why they prop up Sam and Kate versus everybody else,

I mean, they all know about the woods, right? Sam is easy. Sam does, has a feeling. Sam is like, they're both part of like the soup supremacy squad, right? And that's good for Vot because like we talked about like Homelander. Remember back in like season like one or two was trying to get them into the army, soups to the army, and that didn't work out. like super supremacy is good for Vot versus the other kids who like care about humans and don't want them to die and also know about the woods.

That's why they get put in the box. And that's why Sam and Kate get to be the new heroes of Godalkin. Like I think they absolutely did enough to like, you know, satiate this plot line. Like the woods is now like it's gone. It doesn't exist anymore. Like they've done enough to finish this. plot line and set up a new one. So where you're like, there's too many questions.

Like, there's really only one, which is where are these kids now? And how do they get, or not one question, but like, the question resolves the kids in the box. How did they get there and how do they get out? Well, it's interesting because I don't think they care about the woods at all because all Ashley did was call Homelander to come save them. Homelander came and decided the two white kids deserve to be lifted higher and the other ones don't.

So it wasn't even bot's discretion. Well, do we know that it was Homelander's choice? Because all we know is that he lasered. Well, all we know, I can, so all we know is that Ashley said, hey, let's look at all the people we have, which are POCs, gender fluid kids. I don't even think Emma was on the list. Emma was just there. But like we didn't know that Homelander had like marching orders to like take out X, Y or Z person. Ashley looked at all these people, said, called them all said, hey, you can get directly to the seven if you go save me and you stop all these other kids that are killing people.

and then say she ran to the helicopter and said, someone call fucking Homelander. Right. And then they call Homelander. Homelander lands. She's a blonde white girl crying with her arms blown off. And then sees a bunch of other kids on the ground. The black kid half dead on the ground.

Right. And it goes, my numbers are rising because I have the alt right on my side. And he's going, why did you think you could do this? Because it makes no sense also for him to step in and be like, you're the problem, black girl. Like there's nothing that made him choose the, choose Marie to be the problem. But we know what we know.

And he's dating a Nazi and he just got lifted by the right right for blowing up a liberal's head. So he's definitely like, I'm going to make a new narrative. This is what I do. Or reinforce the same one. Reenforce the same one. And it's going to be lifting up these two other fucking kids. I mean, this is why like the show. I mean, the universe works.

Like you mentioned the word narrative. That's not what the show was all about. Thought is all about controlling their narrative. The soups basically do whatever they want, but as long as you can spin it, as long as you can tell a different story, as long as you can... Like, that's the only reason why Tech Night Show exists, right?

It's to go into stuff, find a Patsy to put it on, but like, this is what happened. This is, you know what I mean? And so the show, I think, especially GenV, does a very excellent job of just being like, hey, listen, like these messed up things are going to happen. Us as Vought, we're going to just

spinning a little to the left and move it a little to the right. And it's going to make for us to look good, to make for us to, you know, keep our polish in the media, whatever. And it's like, dang, it's not much, not much you do about that. Have we seen a successful narrative story

pushed from VOT, like doing damage control that wasn't ran by Jean-Carleste, because I don't think we have seen Ashley yet do it. So I think we don't have, because Ashley is, because Homeland, the last thing we saw was Homelander, still directing Ashley the Deep and Atrain on what to do after killing our boy.

So I was like, oh, I don't think we've seen Ashley yet be like, oh, we need to damage control on what Homelander has done yet. It's just been Homelander kind of still pushing that narrative. And I feel like that Homelander is kind of the exception to that rule because they will,

like, Vought will frame it around what Homelander is doing. But this might be the worst one he's done. Right. That's what I'm saying, but you might be correct me. Who said, because transparent in season one gets blown up. Yeah. Got blown up in the ass. What?

In the what? In the ass. Pause. Jesus Christ. Wow. And how the tables have turned. How the turn tables. Incredible.

Got blown up and they said that he was on like a mission in what's in Mexico doing like running drug or like trying to stop drug traffickers. and he was undercover and that's why he was missing and then he would like what the beginning season two was like ah rest in peace it's a translucent man

the drug dealers got him you know despite the fact like you know they knew like Homelander literally flew over was like his transponder was last seen around here you've seen him in French he was like no what's that's crazy

so like yeah they're very like the plane crash uh that killed Shetty's family that was like an accident even though, like... Was that Jean Carlo overseeing that, though? No, we didn't know about John Carlo until season two, right?

He's got a year to three. I think the diagnosis with a year to live. A year to live. Yeah. Does everyone immediately die from taking it if you're, because remember, Victoria Newman gave her daughter it? No, she gave her daughter compound V. What did? What did Butcher get?

Butcher got, like, some temp V. Oh, okay. Tem V, yes. Tem V. Yeah. Okay. I'm pretty saw like, Again, not a scientific expert in V knowledge.

But you give compound V to the children, and the adults can really, don't really do compound V like that way. So temp V, what works. But what's interesting is something I was thinking about is, yeah, we're getting deep into the boys right now. But, like, you probably, because they're like, man, we're so against soups, nobody has some powers. But in order to, like, you got to fight fire with fire.

Exactly. You know, and we saw that in the last season. So, like, I got, I haven't read the comics at all. But in my head, I'm like, maybe they all, like, juice up. You know what I mean? Like, I don't know how they temporary, how they, you know, not temporarily, but, like, permanently get the powers. But, like, I can just imagine, like, you know, whatever finale it is,

series finale is, like, you know, the boys all souped up versus, like, some soups soups grouped up. Homeland or let's get it. You know what I mean? Like, that would be, probably won't be interesting, but, like, to watch because it should be, like, people fighting. screen, you know, but it'd definitely be like, you know, you have to become what you hate in order to destroy what you, you know, hate more.

Yeah. When the girls were, when the girls were fighting and when the guys were fighting in the orgasm house, herogasm house, the orgasm house. I mean, you're not wrong. Yeah, well. The hero, he orgasm house, those were two great fights to watch. So if it is just like that, I think they're really good at editing those. But also, do you think it was butcher that was on the phone with her when she called

after talking to, is it Shetty? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She picked out the phone, like, did you get all that? Do you think Shetty is now being hunted by Butcher and the boys? And then when they get through their own bag, she's already dead.

Dead, she's already dead. And so, you know, the episode ends with them in the box, and they were like, oh, credits. Then the credits stop. And we see Butcher in the woods, and he's just like, he's got the flashlight on. He said something that I'm sure had, like,

you know, a crazy, you know, a cockney accent. accent and like a curse word in it and I can't remember if I'm ahead but it was probably crazy yeah uh and I'm like if he found if he finds like I'm pretty sure Victoria Newman has the uh rest of the the vials of the sickness or whatever but if he found that virus that's a rap yeah you think he would oh my goodness yes think about no hesitation he would he would freaking I don't know if he'd walk up to homeland or whatever but he would like put it in the water fly, like freaking Joker.

You know what I mean? Like, he would, like, splash it on some kid. And then he would go, I promise you. And then he would go to, like, the boy's house. But, like, I just killed all the soups in the world. I just killed your girlfriend, Huey. And Kimiko, you're all going to die. And then they would be like, excuse me?

He'd be like, guys, I'm the goat, maybe. Like, what? You probably should have. You didn't need to talk to us before you did that? I think that's so weird. It feels like he wouldn't, but I feel like he would. Of course he would. They're going to write that, like, weird justification, not justification, like, Hero Part 4, Butcher, when the season drops, is going to be like, no, I need to go tell my friends.

I need to go tell my mates. Butcher. Butcher stinks. It's well, yeah, he does look like he smells. No, I mean, stinks as a human being and has to smell. Like, I don't know when the last time Butcher showered. I was like, yeah. There was one time where he always said it, he was like, I haven't showered days.

Like, he was so mad. He's like, my girlfriend's blood and guts are on me or something. He's got the sky room dirt on him the whole time. I remember they were using, like, hand sanitizer, like, clean them. What are you doing? Oh, no, man. It's stuck to you now. The nurse just stuck to you now.

I know it's so crazy in there. Yeah, it's bad. It's bad. Well, before we get to predictions for season two, I want to talk about one or two things before we go. Sam and Emma. That wrapped up. That was tough. My eyes, my eyes started watering.

And then he said, all you care about is yourself. And she got small. She goes small. She goes small. She goes small. She goes small. I only want what's best. And he's like, you only want what's best for yourself.

Small. When she got small, I got so sad. I was like, she's small now. But then she's like, what the fuck? Yeah, but it was like also that like, clearly the metaphor of like, she's small now. You made her feel small and now she is small. It wasn't even like food or anything. She just felt small.

I think that's important. Yeah, that is important. Again, the metaphor is very, very on the nose there. It's very on the nose by the same time. We talked about in the first episode about like how like her having to throw up is not ideal. Right? Like it's very, like her mother uses that to control her and her eating habits and all that stuff. And she has to be very, like, cognizant of that because of, again, how her mother feels about her and her powers, right? But now, you know, you get away from that.

And so she wants to be big. She got to feel big. She wants to be small. She has to feel small. It's not more about, I mean, I assume this other power works work, right? Right. But now it's not about having to throw up or having to. you know, like, you know, binge-y to whatever it is to be able to grow big or small.

And I think that's much like, that's probably way more healthier for her in the long way. Just to get really sad. I mean, I guess, I mean, yeah, I hope it's not sadness. I hope it's like legitimately just feeling small. I bet there is a world in which she, and she's like, because they're still, they're not kids, but there's still younglings. And I feel like there is a world in which she hasn't actually figured out her entirety of powers, her even getting big.

Right. But like, because it's like, oh yeah, your mom told you this is what you had to do. And this is what you did every day. But what happens if you actually branch outside that box? And you realize you can just do it within yourself. Power seemingly based on emotion or feeling. Are you trying to say that the power was inside her the whole time? I mean,

clearly. Wow. Emma still, Emma ended the season still as one of my favorite characters. But that was purely based based off like emotions and this person written. And she's a very good friend. Yeah, I was like I Because at first you kind of don't believe

Same with like the trailer of Kate You're like oh I know what the M.O of this really pretty blonde lady He's gonna be for the show And then watching it I went Oh, egg on my fucking face Yeah, yeah I judged a book like a lot more going on me That's on me

And same with Emma I was like Oh this is gonna be a cute girl And then when I first saw her and we were introduced I was like oh she's gonna be the worst And then I was like no She's the sweetest little angel I think they're gonna keep that storyline Because they see how much the fans

I've just been looking at their social media and how involved they are with certain couples and posting and who gets the most likes and who's doing like extra B-roll. And Emma and Sam do a lot of stuff for social media for them together. So I think for the next season they might not, like they'll come together again. And then maybe it's when he loses that, like, I have no feeling. And then they might, I don't know if they should. I don't think she should rekindle because I was like,

that was some harsh fucking things he said to her. It was tough. They need to grow from it. They got to have a whole season of reconciliation for that. going to take me a minute to come to terms with that. Well, here's the thing, right? Well, first of all, Emma is a true friend. Yes, she is.

True friend. But at the same time, people have, I mean, I don't know, spoilers for Spider-Man, too, but, uh, Hey, oh, hey, hey, hey, hey, Peter, as Venom was wild, or as the Sybio was wilding to his hummings, you know what I'm saying? Not as, oh, I was saying. You said, what I was talking crazy, you know what I'm saying? So, you know, it pretty depends all how it feels.

Like, I do agree with you guys in the sense that, like, yeah, it's not going to happen overnight. They're not going to make each other and be like, oh, we're co-opatetic, you know, immediately. But at the same time, you know, I'm sure they'll want to work. I'm sure Emma cares a lot for Sam. Yes. So whenever they get out of that prison box, she'll be like,

where's Sam? Can I, how can I help him, you know, figure out who he is? I think that's going to be a big part of our arc when we see them again. But isn't he like a whole sup supremacist now? Just putting that out there. Well, it seems like she, from the reaction she had to it, was like, hey, you just don't know better. Let me tell you. Which is like, I don't agree with as a person.

That's a tough way to say that. You don't want, I wouldn't say that. To be fair to Sam, he's been in a hole for a very, very long time. I wouldn't talk to Sam like that, even if I didn't think that he knew better. I don't think he does, though. That's the thing. And that's, it's the most, they did it in a great way of being. like, there is a black and white here.

He's been in a hole forever. And I'm like, eh, but he still talks to people. Yeah, let's still make it. He needs to know this is himself. Like, this is not okay. Right. But he has, he doesn't know. The de-escalation with Sam and how he can, like,

understand and, like, take somebody to his side. Again, it works a lot better with Kate because all she needs to do is just touch him and, like, I can control you. You're fine now. To be fair, he is also very impressionable. Yes. Like he was only, the only connection he had in that place was to his brother. And he was like, I just want my brother.

And then his brother thought he died and he thought his brother died or just didn't want to come see him. And then he's left out, he's taken out. And he's still just like a young boy at heart. He's like, I like Waterworld. That movie's old. You are, that's insane. So he's just so impressionable that he's like, yeah, this is right. They were mean to me.

We should be able to fight back. And it's like, nah, it's deeper than that. Yeah, like, it's not right. Like, I don't think any of us. are agreeing with, you know, that narrative there. But at the same time, like, he is. Yeah, I agree. Yeah, just like, you know, has been through a lot.

Just going up and being like, oh, these guys were nice to me. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, we're suits. Yeah, we're supposed to be powerful, you know, let's go. And Kerm, you'll be surprised how many people, like, disagree with politically and still, like, you know, engaged in relations. It's shocking. You'd be surprised. So. I don't know why that was directed at Kerm, but.

Because he asked the question. What hell are you doing? Whoa, whoa, whoa. He asked the question. We don't need to. We don't need to. He was like, yo, but what, but, you know, they got, I'm like, look, like, let's just be honest. I'm not going to lie.

What happened when you guys were talking about that? I was thinking of, like, the real life analogy of it all, like, if one of your homies was like, you know, cool people, then one day you find out, like, he's kind of a white supremacist. But, you know, he's a good person outside of that. I don't know if there's fixing that. But I get what you're saying he's mentally ill and impressionable. But at the same time. hates a whole portion of the population. I don't know if that's redeemable.

Again, I don't know. Yeah, I feel like you can, you know, you can always teach people in like, you know, try to ask you know. And it's so much different with Sam, because Sam has the power of the Hulk. Exactly, yeah. You don't want to piss him off. You don't want to piss him off.

I'm also like, poor Emma has to do her own form of damage control on this. And I'm like, Emma, you don't have to, but I'm also like, you are, like, this is different from the real life analogy where this is a Hulk, this is a Hulk child. and we have to approach it like a whole child. And we have empathy for Sam. Empathy is not condoning what Sam does

or even necessarily believes or thinks he believes. It's the fact that we understand that he is in a very difficult place. I was laughing only because I just remembered when you guys were like, yeah, Sam folded that black guy and then he did it again. Yeah, it's real bad. Where he ran at him and I went, no, don't do it. Don't do it. And then Sam immediately just punched him and looked at him straight with no emotion.

And I was like, Yeah, someone needs to... Somebody talked to Sam. My mom called me, and she was like, they just need to sneak up behind him and kill him. Oh my God. I was like, Mom, it's not that easy. I'm sure he could hear you.

And she's like, nah, he's too dangerous. They got to take him out before you think of it. Your mom's like trying to think of strategies to take him down. My mom loves Emma, and she's like, that girl is dumb. Because that man is literally, like, the power of the Hulk. She's like, that is a mountain. And she is dancing with a mountain. And I'm like, she just dancing with a beautiful way to say that.

That's lovely. Don't put my mom on the podcast. She'll say too much stuff. It sounds very poetic. I would love to hammer up. I mean, Emma, like, clearly thinks like, ah, he could be the one, you know what I mean? My baby.

Oh, God. Yeah, like, Sam is, he's, you know, a little, a little dangerous, you know what I mean? All right, real quick, let's talk about Andre and his dad. Tough. Real tough. Tough. Okay.

With great power. Might come brain damage. I was about say, comes, uh, yeah, might come a, a lot of stroke. And the thing is, and maybe this is the first. of us acknowledging it within the boys. Actually, no, because it's killing butcher. So we're aware that a lot of soups are dying, and it could

be from their powers. We don't know if Tech Nights dying from his tumor because of a power, right? Or if it's Tech Nite itself. Yeah, if it's just Technite itself. But it's like, oh, it can't be just these three characters in the Boys universe that is dying from the VOT compound. There has to be some

similarity here. There's some connection here. And may not just be out in the open, because why would Vot want that to be out in the open, that like, 80% of the people died due to the, the, the, but if it's something that they can control long enough to be like, okay, well, they're in like their 50s or 60s at that point.

They would be out of commission anyway. Or they age out of it like athletes where like by the time they hit their 40s, they can't really control them that long. So they get the young people to come up to it anyway. Yeah. I thought, so when he, when he's,

you know, doing the talk with the Fox News dude, at first I was like, oh no. Victoria, she got him. That's what I thought. That's what I thought. She's like, I don't, it didn't make sense.

Like, in retrospect, it doesn't really make sense. But, like, just seeing somebody like, their head going crazy, I was like, oh, no. Where's she at? She's got to be somewhere. Me too. But, yeah, it turns out that using his powers is, like, making micro tears in his brain, which is not good. You saw the x-ray. Like, there's a whole hole in his brain.

Yeah. Like, there's nothing there. He's like one-half. Well, he's been using his powers for, like, how many years? Yeah, decades. So, like, it's all messed up. And Kate said herself that it was the medication that was toning her down. It wasn't really killing her.

But is her power actually killing her? Do we know that? We don't know about her specifically. We do know that for... All that the show seemed to confirm or at least acknowledge to us is that like, okay, Andre's type of powers knowing that they came from his dad will also eventually kill him. Yeah. If he keeps using them.

If he keeps using them like that. Which he only used any, oh, no, he's on the helicopter. He didn't use a pick up. But, like, again, like, if we kind of do the math for his dad, like his dad used them for decades. That's true. And seemingly doing as much, if not more, than his son. And what if we found out that his dad was, like, 80 years old and it was just like that,

like, that, like, black don't crack type stuff, you know what I'm saying? At that point, you just let it slide, right? Like, ah, you know. I don't like his dad. His dad sucks. I mean, yeah. He's probably, like, 50 years old. Bad dad.

Bad dad. On his dad or dead bed, he was like. He was still alive. Not dying. He's dying. He's dying. He's dying. He's dying. He's dying. But he said, you know, a little bit of, you know, some medication. We'll slow it down. We'll slow it down.

He'll slow it down. He's slowly dying. Count his days. Yeah. Damn. Yeah. So pack watch for Andre's dead too. Big pack watch.

He doesn't. Tom Brady's spawn, dies in episode one. And then quickly him and Kate Kat get together. And I'm like, yo, that's kind of crazy. You caught it. I genuinely thought in a moment of weakness when you're like, oh, I need connection because we had someone that just passed. I have not done this.

Let me say that first and foremost. I have never done this. What a best friend is dying? And then you steal his man. Be very clear right here. No room for error right now. It was not me. I'm just saying I understand.

I see it when you're emotional. Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I get it, but I'm also like, I didn't catch it. I did not think that they were together whatsoever. They were very much together. I think, and what's interesting is episode six, we find out that that only wasn't happening after he died.

They were doing it while he was alive. And it was like, you know. Guilt. Yo, and I don't know why I thought that everybody knew that they were like shacking up or like, you know, together. I thought it was like a known thing that, oh, I thought it'd be like, I was wondering like why nobody was like, hey, man, that's not your homeboy's best friend. Yeah, it is golden boy. Everybody knows him. That's not like, you know what I'm saying?

That's not your homeboy's best friend. You mess with your home boys before. Or to like to Andre like, hey, that was your home boy's girl. Like nobody talked to him about it. But then it turns out, oh, nobody needs. because they're keeping a secret because it would happen for a long, long time. You know, it's like... You can't stop love.

at her hand. And it doesn't matter whether or not he walks over her or not. Like you could tell that he doesn't trust her. He no longer trusts her. And it sucks because it is that quick glance. Like if Jomi looked away while I'm talking, the first thought I'll think of it was, oh, he hates me. He hates me.

He's going to rob me and then run away. He's dancing with the mountain. He's dancing with the mountain. Let me just take a keys right on the table. You can take my Honda CRV. Please take it away. I got a lot of chairs this weekend, man. You know, I need the space. No.

No, man. I was just like that relationship, like the breakdown, I think, because I think it's like broken down at this point. And I'll be interested seeing season two, like, if they have to, if they see each other, if they have to fight, if they have a team up, whatever it is, what that relationship like. It's probably like the end of this season

is probably going to be continuation of that. But I don't feel like they can come back from that. You know what's fucked up is that in that room, that they're all, the prison room that they're locked in, Marie and Jordan have each other. Emma just got broken up with and Andre is now dealing with it. And I'm like, damn,

if I, I would be like, I don't want to see y'all even glance at each other right now. Don't even, don't even play with me. You sit in that corner and you go to that corner. That would be a great first episode.

And if all they do is just argue in that cell for a whole episode. We're doing a bottle episode. Yeah. Episode one. I love it. They just air it out from everything in episode one. It's great.

All right, let's talk about season two before we wrap up here. How do you think our conflict is resolved? What do we want to see in season two? Are we on a crash course with the boys' crossover? I feel like a little bit. The biggest part I think will be Ashley and Vought, and that is what I'm most excited for. I'm second, very close first, Victoria Newman. Anything she does, though, I'm excited for. But the Ashley and Vot and how they're going to handle this and these people being in some sort of room, which I'm sure is under Vought, I just need to, I can't wait to see that unveiling of how they think they can get away with this, what the dance

Ashley is going to do, what the dance thought's going to do. In terms of season two, I want to know how they get out of this, right? I'm interested to see how they can all come together because I said it at the beginning, that was one of the best parts to the season for me was seeing them work together as a team and frigging things out, like do the whole Scooby-Doo mystery of it all. And for them to now have to find their way out of that little box. is exciting to me. I can't wait.

That box. That box, they're doing 90 years of solitude. I want to bet on it that I swear like the first, not maybe the first scene, but the first time we see them in that room,

a door's going to open and it's going to be X, whoever, but they're going to come out. It's going to be Mother's Milk. It's like, what's up, guys? Oh, somehow they have like a bunch of money

and it's Butcher. Butcher has all of them with the Starlight. They're in heist mode or whatever. Just like, God, you got to move, got to move, go, go, go, go. He's like, gunfire in the background. Hey, move, move, you know, y'all watch movies. I don't know what a movie is.

I think pretty much, like, everybody who, like, was a cameo, We'll probably see in season four, except for, or Shady's not a cameo, but rest in peace to Shetty. She lived a good life. And now she gets to see her, well, does she get to see her father or her husband and daughter? Yeah. Dang. It'd be like that when you plan mass genocide. That's great.

Yeah, it happens like that. That was unhinged. She was talking to the general like, yeah, man, we always don't worry about it, man. kill a lot of suits. Yeah, like she was on her side. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. That was insane of her.

If she knew butcher's life right here. To butcher, it'd be a rap skis. It felt like she did, like, and maybe this was not writing, maybe it is in the writing. They wanted to feel this way that she unraveled so quickly by episode seven.

Oh, yeah. Why would you go to this woman that you barely know? Clearly I thought you guys were closer than that. Yeah. You're not. She, like, the biggest reveal in this story other than her saying I'm going to kill all soups

was the girl knowing exactly her job entitled and she went, oh, shit. Oh. And it was just like, yeah, my husband and daughter died on that plane and it's like, even the blonde girl was like, you couldn't choose a bigger, a better, like revenge story than that. She was like disappointed in her.

So I was like, that's crazy that she unraveled so quickly. She went for tech night. She wrapped the woods around her finger and then she was immediately just like, I'm going to slice my throat. That's how you know, Butcher's Bill. different. Butcher is built different. He took that

fucking Temp V. He also had sex with Maeve a lot and then went and then went off. Why would you bring that up? Because he's dancing. He dances with the mountain. I'd even, I've forgotten about that. That was... Mave is really strong. So them having sex is like breaking through walls. Man,

I did not want that mental image in my head. Really out of all of the images that GenV gave you this season? I'm not, see, like... You don't like Mave? Well, no, I like Mave. I like butcher. It's just like I completely forgot about that subplot. I literally like, and now I'm like remembering like,

because I think I remember the moment I was like, guys, this is, don't do this. This is just going to be, nope, don't do it, don't do it. And then he did it. I was like, meow. Nah, man, I mean, this episode was pretty gruesome. Like a lot of episodes are gruesome. But you have the social media dues head exploding.

You have like the dude who was asking people, are you a soup? Are you a soup? I'm not a soup. I'm an adjunct professor. I can't wait to go home and see my kids. And then you see like the skull, like the burnt skull. And like a lot of people got laser.

A lot of people got like their heads popped. Like, and a lot of episodes of DeBois and GenV, this is definitely like one of the most holy crap blood guts everywhere that we've seen in the entire like boys universe. very, very gruesome. Yeah. I want everyone to come back that is in this season.

Everybody. Even Brink? That's not talking about Blink. We can't end the show on Brink. Not Mr. Crabs. No, if I could pull one person that died in this season back, it would absolutely be

Arnold Schwarzenegger's son. Honestly, I feel like they kind of killed his character off too early. I bring back to him. As much as they wanted to use him. I didn't hate it. I didn't hate it. Well, no, you, I mean, you have to come off. It sets off the entire show.

I understand that. But, like, he's actually really good in the, in the episodes that he's used in either flashbacks or in hallucinations. I think that's the greatest part is using him in flashbacks and hallucinations. Especially for Sam, it's like, oh, this is my moral compass. I know. And Kate's mind, it's like, still kind of my moral compass. I know, but, like, I genuinely wanted, wanted to see more of, like, what this kid could do with his character when he was a live, but we only got like an actual episode with him.

And he's really good. I would have liked to see more of him. And hopefully we get to see him, you know, in more of season two. But yeah, I kind of wish he was alive. I think that will be his running bit will always be Sam's, like in Sam's mind. So even Sam without feeling might be locked up somewhere. And we'll see Arnold Schwarzenegger's sense and decide to be like, well, I'm your mind. So it doesn't really matter.

I mean, yeah, that's, again, a good showing from our guy. No, I mean, it's bigger than us, you know, but if I could bring somebody back, probably be one of the guys who got chopped in a half by Sam in the alleyway in that thing. The one that was screaming for his wife. Yeah, he had, like, he got kids. It's fine. You don't know, no? It'd be like that sometimes in the boys.

Dang. Sometimes. Also, really quick, we don't need to talk about this. I just forgot that we didn't bring it up. We finally got to see translucent son. Oh, my God. As himself, naked and all, but still, like, we saw him as a normal person with a bruise. Yeah.

Was it a bruise or like a hit in the ribs with the thing? Okay, man, I thought I was tripping. I thought like he got like cut up and I was like. Oh no, she had him in the ribs. He was such a goofy looking man. Well, it's because the way he fell and was landing, he was just like, oh, like that. His dweeney was out. You can't show the jweeney.

Well, you can't show the dweeney. They can't show the dweeney. They showed a lot of dweeney in the show. I don't think they'd be afraid of that. But I kind of feel like that particular actor. Yeah. It's like no dweenie for this. What would it matter?

No dweeney for me. Well, clearly, because the way he lands, like, it's crossed over like that. It's very much no dweony. Maybe like one of your French girls kind of like leg across the... It was funny because the weirdest part to me wasn't that he was naked. I was like, oh, I don't like him without a hat on. It's weird to not see a hat. It's crazy.

Put the hat back on. It's like, after she knocked him out, she just like put the hat and glasses back on. That's what I thought was weird. I was like, put that back on. But also the one time we actually see the actor in this show. That's so funny. I do really like that a lot. All right.
