Wednesday, Buttonmash will have their reactions to Donkey Kong Bananza. And on the House of Our Feed, they continue their hot Nolan summer with inception, along with a bunch of San Diego Comic Con stuff. But on today's show, we are continuing the coverage of the most talked about movie in the comic world. It's at least until later on this week. later on tonight when we see Fantastic Four. Well, I'm saying later on this week is when Fantastic Four will be out.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Right now it's just us and Eric. Voss talking about it. Friday, Thursday, Wednesday, everybody will be talking about it. Right now it's Superman and we're going to do a lie for you guys. We show up for you guys. Even when you don't show up for us, we're doing it. Superman. They are here.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Q and A post-mortem. They're going to be spoilers, everything. Superman, the DCU. We're going to talk about interviews. We're going to talk about Twitter stuff. We're going to talk about everything having to do with soups, crypto, Lex, Mr. handsome, the dude from
Starting point is 00:04:36 Baravia, who may or may not be Benjamin Netanyahu. All of the stuff will be discussed right here, Chuck, take it away. This is why live is a bad idea. All right. First up, let's talk box office, the success. There's been a lot of news. As of Sunday, Superman has made 406 million at the global box office.
Starting point is 00:04:56 I'm seeing some pundits saying it's going to end its global run around $640 to $700 million. The movie is doing fantastic domestically, but struggling a little bit overseas. James Gunn has said to Rolling Stone, we're definitely performing better domestically than we are internationally, but internationally is also rising and having really good weekday numbers in the same way we are. Superman is not a known commodity in some places. He's not a big known superhero in some place like Batman is. that affects things. So my first question to y'all is,
Starting point is 00:05:26 on the midnight meter 1 to 12, then where would you give the box office success so far? And if we end up in that 700 million range, how successful do you think that Superman was for Warner Brothers? 700 would be like a 9. Yeah. Okay. Where we're going to end up is an 8.
Starting point is 00:05:43 We're going to end up with an 8. If the movie is profitable and good, Warner Brothers has won the battle of Superman. Yep. I think it's already profitable, or at least getting close. Barbie would probably be a 12th. Like Barbie, to me is just like a perfect case scenario
Starting point is 00:05:56 in terms of just like you couldn't ask for a better. And Superman, to your point, is like, I think the thing that's stopping it and what I'm wondering is like, do you think internationally people will be more prone to going to Superman the more it's out in the ecosystem? No. But it, like, a movie,
Starting point is 00:06:16 no, more people don't go to a movie the longer the movie's been out. They go. No, I mean, so like, in terms of, like, continuing the DCU. Oh, no. I mean, yeah, if this movie has great legs in the theaters and then great legs, word of mouth, following its theatrical run, and depending on how Supergirl does and Clayface and the overall
Starting point is 00:06:37 stability of the DCU, you could see a Superman sequel do better. But it's just a precarious time right now internationally for the reputation of America, the cultural reputation of America. I think that has a lot to do with how Superman's being perceived in James Guns. as much. I think the more important thing is, and James Gunn, again, he said it. He's not a big known superhero in some places like Batman. He's not Batman. It's not
Starting point is 00:07:00 Spider-Man. It's not going to make a quarter of a billion dollars just off the rip. Superman has been in the mud for the last couple years. And so if they get to 700 million, that's a win for me. That is an undoubted success. People like the movie. And if it
Starting point is 00:07:15 makes, you know, what, the Batman 2022 may like quarter or was what, $750 million around there, $733 million? If Superman can get there, they're absolutely going to take that as well. I mean, Superman returns made $391 million. Manistyle made $670, and then Batman versus Superman did $8.74. So essentially, best case scenario, you're looking around Man of Steel numbers.
Starting point is 00:07:39 So this is what you want. Even if it's $671 million, because Manus Steel made $670,000, and then $6,000, $600,000, $600,000.2. You want to beat Manor Steel. Do you think the Snyderverse saves are going to be all-ha-ass? If you don't beat Manor Steel, the Snyderverse monkey bots who are typing. All of those bots actually work for the Snyderverse, those guys are going to flip up. I want to know from the chat, do you guys think that this will beat Man of Steel?
Starting point is 00:08:17 Is that the only way to get the Snyderverse bots to shut up? No. They're not going to shut up regardless. No, no, no. This is, and this is like part of my problem with talking about this stuff, is that it's so agenda-based. Right. The way you've got to think about this, if the movie, again, makes like $650, 700, it's success, fine, we take it, we walk. Normal people like us would be like, great, awesome, good time.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Online, it's either this movie's a flop or this movie is a raging success that can't be touched. And the truth is always somewhere in the middle. And the pocket watching basically grades it on a pass fail. And even as big as this was going to be, it's a resounding cultural success. Everybody's been talking about it. Everybody's been pretty much loving it. But the math is it doesn't matter. If this movie made $1.5 trillion, the sign of fans will still be like,
Starting point is 00:09:06 Yeah. You know what's really changed. What's really changed is our relationship to these box office figures, period. It used to be that you only heard about the box office numbers of a movie. movie if the movie did really well. Yeah. Right. Like, if the movie was soft at the box office, but you still liked it, you talked about
Starting point is 00:09:26 how much you loved the movie. Yeah. But now, we have so much intellectual penetration. Penetration. You have so much of that in terms of the business. People are deadline. It's being aggregated and all of that stuff. People want to know whether or not not the movie of Superman.
Starting point is 00:09:47 whether or not that was successful. They want to know whether or not the experiment of Superman was successful. And that the box office is a compagent. So can I add, what I want to know now is there seems to be a lot of heat on Supergirl because it was announced today that the writer of Supergirl,
Starting point is 00:10:06 Anna Nagara, sorry if I've mispronounced that, is going to be writing Wonder Woman. I also think she's attached to Teen Titans. So where do you guys think a Supergirl movie will do? in the marketplace if Superman is hovering around 600, 700. I can't call it a number, but it doesn't really matter. If Supergirl is good, it wins.
Starting point is 00:10:26 There's less expectation for a Supergirl movie. It's a character that people kind of know that hasn't really been solidified in any way as something that you can build a studio around. So if the Supergirl movie is good and not... it doesn't look can't make no dollars but if the supergirl movie is good i think that's a feather in the cap of james gun um and the dc u because it would be a character that not a lot of people care about it's it's odd because a lot of the things that are going to be coming out from the dc u
Starting point is 00:11:03 pretty much aren't tested and proven brands quite yet like i don't like we can't really say how successful a clay face movie is going to be right and what success even looks like for a movie like that. But I think at least to know that a star that we like in Millie Alcock can bring a nice and interesting take to this character and to know that the next soonest thing that we will get is Supergirl, when the last movie that came out in the 80s was insane and weird and ultimately not great, I think that's brave. And I think it's going to be something that we can actually kind of get excited about
Starting point is 00:11:37 while we wait for Brave and the Bold and everything else that are going to be the bigger brand hits. Speaking of Brave and the Bold is interesting. that we got a Wonder Woman writer, but not a Brave and the Bold writer, announced interesting. Noticing. Noticing. Something to think about. They don't know what they're doing with Batman. All right. I don't know about that.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Again, and I've been saying this for years at this point, because there's another quote in here where he talks about, or James Gunn, talks about Wonder Woman. And it's like, now that his time has passed and we really need a Wonder Woman and really really need a Batman because it's so important to us. And so it's become a bit more like going to everybody at DC and being like, We need to figure this out. We have good writers on Wonder Woman, and we have to make sure it's working,
Starting point is 00:12:17 and they have to be not be somebody who's going to take two years to write a script. There's something that... There's something that... That's a little slight. That's what I'm saying. There's something that James Gunn isn't saying. Batman has a unique problem. And the unique problem that the DCU Batman has is that there is another Batman.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Now, you might be thinking to yourself, then that's something that everybody's been saying. And I would say to you, don't worry about what I say. Hit the light button on the thing and participate. But no, there will be a direct quality litmus test for the DCU showing up in another character who will be on the same IP corner almost at the same time. Think about this. We're looking at Superman movie in 2020. a completely contemporary take on the character,
Starting point is 00:13:15 a different world, more zany, all of that, and we're still comparing that to Superman of the past. You're going to. You're going to compare James Bond to other James Bond. You're going to compare whomever, whatever the mantle is.
Starting point is 00:13:30 You're going to compare that to people that have come before. But you don't normally have to compare it to a movie that's coming out one year after you're a movie, two years after your movie. and the fans are going to be, what if there was a, what if Zach Snyder was making another Superman
Starting point is 00:13:47 and that Superman was coming out in November or in January? The fans would have a direct opportunity at referendum. They would be like, we like this Superman better. And then that means, because if Matt Reeves' Batman comes out,
Starting point is 00:14:02 and people like it better than James Gunsbrave and the Bold, right? That means, doesn't sell. That means that that Batman is better than the DCU. And it's a hit, it's a shot. It's a big deal.
Starting point is 00:14:15 In my heart of hearts, I think James Gunn is figuring out a way to stop Matt Reeves' moves from me. You see, you're not. In my heart of hearts, I think he's right. In my heart of hearts, I think he's right. And it's because of this other quote that he had on the, on the Happy Sad, Confused podcast,
Starting point is 00:14:33 where he was talking about, when his deal was announced, nearly the same day, they also announced that Henry Cavill returns to Superman, as he's signed on to direct a new Superman. And it's antithetical to the entire plan that Warner Brothers had. Now, you can want to be James Gunn inside with him and being like, no, that's fucking with my vision.
Starting point is 00:14:51 But it's also kind of speaking to the inaptitude of how Warner Brothers was planning this whole thing to know that we still have an entire Batman and his own universe that's ultimately very successful that people would want a sequel to coming down the pipeline and you can't stop it. Right. But because it's good. Right. You can kill Henry.
Starting point is 00:15:10 have a coming back at Superman because nobody liked Black Adam and it's really easy to be like, oh, here's just a cameo. You can kick rocks. Hey, thank you for coming out though. We might have a role for you in the future, DCU, but thank you. When people love Batman, when it made $772 million
Starting point is 00:15:26 to the box office, you can't quite say hey, Matt Reeves, hey, Robert Panison, thanks for coming, go home. I'm going to give you another character here. Another character here. And no one has ever done this ever, but I'm going to compare Batman to Peacemaker. I want you to think about the peacemaker situation. The Batman
Starting point is 00:15:42 peacemaker situation is really not that different. Peacemaker is a character that is a relicant a holdover from the old DC-EU. The difference is that James Gunn is in sole control of peacemaker because it comes from his slice of the universe even before he was made the head of the studio.
Starting point is 00:15:58 So what he could say is there was a peacemaker that existed and that show and that character has been successful. We saw the ovation that he got. I'm sure you guys went to see the movie. You saw the ovation that he got inside of Superman movie, right? But all James Gunn went was like, okay, that peacemaker that existed in that old universe is now in this universe. Maybe he'll do some kind of multiversal thing where he explains that there's a new peacemaker or whatever.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Or maybe it'll just happen. He can't do that with Batman. He can't just say, you know what? We have already the infrastructure for Batman. We have a Batman. We have a director. We don't have to cast it. We don't have to do any of this.
Starting point is 00:16:38 all you guys got to do now is figure out a take on Batman, this director, this Batman that exists in this world. Might not work with the Brave and the Bowl. I don't know how young Robert Pattinson was getting it in,
Starting point is 00:16:52 but it might not work, but he can't do that because he's not in control of the creative over that character. And I don't think he likes that very much. Well, if we're talking about what he is in control
Starting point is 00:17:01 of James Gunn, obviously did a lot of interviews, Rolling Stone, EW, Happy Sad Confused Podcasts, What I want to know from y'all, James Gunn has said he's writing another movie. Superman will be involved. It's not Superman. It's not Superman and Batman.
Starting point is 00:17:18 It's nothing like that. Do you guys, what do you think James Gunn's next movie? Because he, part of him just like, it seems like he's writing an Avengers style thing. Black as night. Blackest night? Really? Yep. Already?
Starting point is 00:17:33 I don't think it's Black as Night. It's not going to be Black as Night already, but the, the, you know, I don't know. The movie that he's talking about with Superman involved where it's a big turn, like a big team up movie. Yeah. Black is night. Black is night.
Starting point is 00:17:49 Black.com. They should do. Black.com. They should do blackest night. No. They should do. They should. They should.
Starting point is 00:17:57 They should like, they should have like a girl at the daily planet. Okay. Going, I just got the first job at the daily planet. And I was so nervous about it. And then all of a sudden, Mr. Territic comes over. Oh, my God. You know what? What is T-Sphere?
Starting point is 00:18:14 Hold on. How about this? It's T-Sphere. It's T-Sphere. I thought you were going with... Can you imagine Mr. T-Renik just has Dill does it? I thought it was going to. Perry, Perry White come through.
Starting point is 00:18:25 It could be Perry. Could be Mr. but remember it's black, so it could be both of them. It could be both of them. At the same time. This is what I want you guys to do. Because we are alive, don't act different. Right.
Starting point is 00:18:34 I can already see y'all acting different. The beginning. this podcast. I'm scared. Because I don't want to talk about live. Don't, oh, excuse me. Don't,
Starting point is 00:18:45 don't act different because we still got to talk about Jomey's Mee. All right. Duran Barton said, Blackest Night, sorry if I fucked up your name. Blacks's Night is 10 movies down the line at least, man.
Starting point is 00:18:53 You don't know. You don't know. It's true. You in my audience, homie. All right. James Stephen says It's definitely,
Starting point is 00:19:01 it's definitely the Superman and Supergirl team up. Maybe against the authority. I don't think it's. I think it's Earth, too. The Grant Morrison comic. Really? I think we're getting some, like,
Starting point is 00:19:12 and this is a movie we like, Batman versus Superman, Donna Justice's Ultimate Edition. I think we're getting Wonder Woman Batman and Superman. That's going to be the movie. Is that too soon? Are they getting way too ahead of themselves?
Starting point is 00:19:27 That's James or Robert. This is actually live. Don't be asking whether or not is live or it's pre-recorded. Kingdom Come is more realistic at this point. I think James Gunn is doing Legion of Superheroes. That's too old. That story doesn't make sense.
Starting point is 00:19:38 See what I'm saying? Everybody's just saying. Legion of superheroes? Like, Kingdom come doesn't make sense. All the superheroes have to be old in kingdom. James Gunn doesn't understand time travel. That's not what he said. But he talked about how-
Starting point is 00:19:48 He doesn't like time travel. He doesn't like all that stuff. So I don't know if we'll get legions of heroes. Part of me the reason why I think if you haven't read Grant Morrison and Frank Whiteley's Earth 2, like read it. It's about basically like the injustice gang. Ultraman is in it. It's about like another Earth. Part of me was like, oh, is that why Ultraman got like.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Got thrown into the black. is this because also James Gunn was basically saying that Peacemaker Season 2 is essentially just a spiritual successor to Superman. Yes. And we already know that there's two peacemakers in this, one from a different universe. Part of me is like, oh, instead of doing crisis, are they doing like there's another world out there, Superman, Justice Game, whoever got to go up against me? Could be. Also, remember that not only is Peacemaker going to be the sequel to Superman, It's also probably going to be the connective tissue to lanterns.
Starting point is 00:20:41 So, you know, there's going to be a big, wide, expansive galaxy out there. All right. Next up, do we want to talk before we throw to the chat for some more for some more Superman questions really, really quick? Kevin Feigy interview. Oh, Daddy. Kevin Feige said a lot. He said, Faggy admits they were thinking of moving away from Ken even before everything that happened with Jonathan Majors. Bullshit.
Starting point is 00:21:05 Quote, let me give the quote. No way. Let me give the quote. Really, really quick. This episode is brought to by WeatherTech. Starting point is 00:22:51 We had started to realize that King wasn't big enough, wasn't Thanos, and that there was only one character. That could be that because he was in the comics for decades. He was talking about Doom. Y'all think this is bullshit. We don't have the audio we can't play it right now, but in your heads, Play stop the cat.
Starting point is 00:23:05 That was the most nonsense thing I've ever heard in my entire life, dog. There's no way that's true. I love Kevin. That's my dog. That's my goat. There's no way that's true. First of all, they had oriented the entire world around Kang in terms of not just the character himself. You can make an argument that the only thing that they did in the Infinity Scyga was really put the stones out there and put the stones in different places.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Yeah. Then through Infinity War, you bring Thanos in and Thanos becomes the thing that gets, you build the lore behind it in a really one movie. They started setting, they created the world in that phase of Marvel around the multiverse, around the time around that character. Okay. There's no way that if Jonathan Majors doesn't get in trouble, that they pivot to do.
Starting point is 00:24:05 No way. There's no way. You don't even think after the box office, like, let's take everything that happened. When they see the box office of Quantum Mania, if it does well, do you think they're like, King Dynasty's still on,
Starting point is 00:24:16 like, still on the table? I think, well, it's just so nonsensical. He's got, like, part of that quote says, and in fact, I started talking with Robert Downey Jr. about this audacious idea
Starting point is 00:24:30 before Amman 3 even came out. That's a lie. That is a low, Well, hold on. That's a LeBron James. Wait. Yeah, I saw Kobe, man. I thought he was going to score 81 tonight type line.
Starting point is 00:24:40 Wait, wait, wait. Actually, I wouldn't say that I totally don't believe it. This is what I would say. I'm not saying that Doom wouldn't have been involved in these movies. Right. That's not what I'm saying. The fact that he was thinking about Robert Downey Jr. as Doom that early tells me that they weren't thinking of fully pivoting to do. Oh.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Yeah. The full pivot to doom means, like, he's out. His own actor, his own thing. They weren't thinking of fully pivoting to doom. They were thinking, we would have a multiversal doom in this story, and maybe we plant the seed of doom to move forward. But I do not think that anything that he said regarding Jonathan Majors in Kang is true. Dog, you saw the end credits.
Starting point is 00:25:28 Shout out to Inez, all the Keynes in the end credits. that you don't do that if you're like Yeah, he's not that big He's not that big of a deal Yeah, we're not doing that Like come on Can you give Kang Like two seasons of TV
Starting point is 00:25:41 A movie without Come on So the other stuff Faggy said They're moving forward With a Blade movie Now said After giving all they clothes away To Couglar show
Starting point is 00:25:51 MCU heroes like Captain American Iron Man are going to be recast at some point And that Faggy has a little less than two years On his deal So what I want to know
Starting point is 00:26:00 Is this Faggie basically saying after Secret Wars, when the X-Men are there, we get in a new cap, we get a new Iron Man, we basically clean in the entire sleep. Yeah, probably, yeah. I mean, that's what Secret Wars does. It recesses the universe. Yeah, but here's my thing, though.
Starting point is 00:26:16 We still got Black Panther 3. You know what I mean? Like, how does Black Panther 3... Might introduce a new Black Panther? Yeah, Black Panther 3, Mo Black, Moe, Moe, Panther. Black Panther 3, Tokyo Dr. Tokyo Drift.
Starting point is 00:26:30 It might be... Dampsonedger's... I'll tell you what. Shuri is Black Panther in Doomsday. So Shuri is Black Panther.
Starting point is 00:26:45 The longer we get without an idea of who Black Panther is going to be, do you think that they stick with the idea of Shuri being Black Panther? I think they give us two Black Panther. I would be surprised if Black Panther 3 is Black Panthers. And it's just like, they give us a Tachala
Starting point is 00:27:01 and they give us a shirt. I honestly think it's just going to be Tachal's son and it's going to kind of be like time travel. Yeah, Auntie teaching the nephew everything that he needs to do to become Black Panther. That's why. That could be, oh my God. This guy, man. This guy. All right, we've been talking for a half hour. Let's get to some
Starting point is 00:27:20 questions. Let's see. James Gunn said, this is from Clifton Creed. James Gunn said he would love Cabell to have a role in the DCU. Who should he play? First of all, there was some James Gunn under a lot of these interviews is doing a lot of, I would love this person to be in the problem. It's really sweet of him.
Starting point is 00:27:40 It's really nice to him to just be like, they would mention an actor, be like, I love that guy. I love talking to him. Man, if we can cast him something, you know, make it happen. But he just set that over and over and over and over again. Because they were asking him by what's, they were asking him about so many different casting texts. Like they were asking them about guys who didn't get the role with Superman.
Starting point is 00:27:58 And he was like, yeah. would love to have him back. Cavill, I don't know, people were saying Zod. What do you guys think about the Zod thing? Caval or Zod. I don't want to be in any Superman shit. A lot of people were saying
Starting point is 00:28:10 making Batman, which I think is no nuts. If you really want to be a troll about it, you just make him Shazam. That would be very funny. That would be very funny. Can you imagine if they do Kingdom come? Eric Cowell comes.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Oh, my God. Especially the Kingdom comes Shazam. That's all fucked up. Yeah. the thing in his ear. I do genuinely feel bad for Cavill because knowing what Gunn said about the fact that he basically just had to fire him
Starting point is 00:28:37 within days. But at least he... Well, it was the Rock's fault. No, it's the Rock's fault. We got to talk about it. We got to talk about the fact that the Rock... He was... He caught some strays.
Starting point is 00:28:48 Okay, so look, here's a deal. Some strays, brother. Headshot. Here's a deal. Here's a deal. I don't... I think, at first I thought, man, what asshole? is the rock to come and try to take over DC,
Starting point is 00:29:02 the more I thought about it, I respect it. Why? He had an opportunity. He took a shot. He took a chance. He saw a weakened DC-EU, and he was like, you know what they need? Me.
Starting point is 00:29:17 They need the rock. And he came in there and he looked at Henry Cavill. He's like, man, they say you're not going to be Superman. Nah, dog. You're going to be Superman. Wait, someone in the chat said, Henry Cavill should play Mr. the zizzleplex.
Starting point is 00:29:30 All right. I saw Orion. Orion is not bad. Orion is not bad. It's not a bad shout. They're not bringing a new. The new guys got a, they got some. They're going to make that movie.
Starting point is 00:29:39 Ava was going to make the new guys movie. It didn't, it didn't pan out. The, Cowell is dark side? I don't know. No. The Dwayne Johnson stuff is really funny because again,
Starting point is 00:29:47 we talked about this when the movie was coming out. We already had Shazam. Like Adam and Shazam already had been supposed to fight. Yeah. But that's what it's supposed to be like. But his ego was so big. He was like, Why am I fighting Zachary Levi?
Starting point is 00:30:01 Why I can go fight Superman? He was skipping steps. Ultimately, it cost them. The hierarchy of power. It did not change. Well, it did change, but not his favor. All right. My next question for you all.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Let's see. Kevin Aquino, do you all think Miles is a misdirect? Miles Morales, possibly like King Pence supposedly not being able to be in an MCU movie. I don't think Miles is a misdirect at all. No. I think Sony is like, we got these amazing animated movies. we're going to get to Miles Morales.
Starting point is 00:30:31 But if I'm Sony, I'm like, why am I going to give away? Well, they literally said, Fagie quoted as saying, Sony has their brilliant, genius, incredible Spider-Verse animated franchise going. And until that finishes, we've been told to stay away. They can't touch it until that movie comes out in 2037. Which, as long as that's been delayed,
Starting point is 00:30:51 the specifics of this Sony deal, even after the failed Sony Spider-Verse for live-action rest in peace venom, is really, like, annoying to hear about. Why? The amount of things that they just can't do still. Like, the amount of clamps that they want to, because obviously, if you're running the MCU,
Starting point is 00:31:09 you want to incorporate Superman as much as you can. There's probably going to be an arm ramp in Doomsday, and then to Brand New Day, and then Secret Wars, obviously. That's the one, two, three of it all. But to think that, like, we have an actor to play Miles' mom. Allegedly. Allegedly. Here's the deal.
Starting point is 00:31:29 Do you know what corporations hate more than money that they lost? Money they couldn't get? Money they didn't make. Didn't make. So if you're looking at Spider-Man and you're looking at the success of Spider-Man as an MCU entity. Right. And the fact that a director and a creative brain was able to get three great Spider-Man movies, movies out, then you, using your characters, right, in the third one, and then integrate Spider-Man
Starting point is 00:32:05 into the Avengers build really a whole arm, a separate mini-universe of the MCU around Spider-Man, and you've been splitting it the whole time. You're looking at that and you're going, this is great for the prestige of the character, for the core. culture of the character. But for us, it's a couple billion dollars that we did not make because we could not make
Starting point is 00:32:36 a Spider-Man movie on our own that was as good as what the MCU has done. I do not think they want to do that again. I think what they want to do is good, bad, or indifferent get Shemique Moore
Starting point is 00:32:52 and have him play a live action mile to Alice, 2031, he'll be 36 years old or whatever, and they want their own Spider-Man back because they don't have people apart back for a while. I agree with you. I think Sony is on some like, hey, yo, that Tom Holland shit was cute.
Starting point is 00:33:09 But our first crack at Miles Morales, that's, we want all. Yeah, we want that. All right, so we got a couple, I'm going to fuse some. We got some casting questions. So a lot of people are asking if they recast Batman, what do you think of Allison,
Starting point is 00:33:24 the Allen Richardson rumored? and then Brandon P. said they're working on the Wonder Woman script. Who should play Wonder Woman in the new DCU? So let's clear out for some casting. I don't think Alan Ritchin should be Batman. I think he's too exposed. Get ready to learn Aquaman, buddy. Aquaman?
Starting point is 00:33:42 He comes back as Aquaman. He played Aquaman in Smallville. Oh, Gee-E-T. That guy is Aquaman more swollen niggas as Aquaman. Why not? You want to do you know Michael Felts? You got to look like somebody like Mike. Michael Phillips, man, you're a swimmer.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Big ass. Well, Michael Phelps is uniquely built to swim. I don't know if you were watching, like, the 2008 Beijing Olympus, but they did the whole thing. He's got like web feet and his arms are super long and his torso super long. It was weird that coverage. He's like, he's a genetic freak in all last text. He's made in a lab to swim. Brother, you were there, though.
Starting point is 00:34:15 When they came back against the French and the individual 200 individual meddling, bruh, I was, brother, it's 2 a.m. in San Diego. I mean, we're watching it with my dad. are supposed to keep quiet, everybody's sleeping. Brother, when they created that comeback, bro, I exploded. I went crazy. You would- I-knutted?
Starting point is 00:34:32 I nutted? Oh, my God. For America. For America, brother. I think what I learned the most from James Gunn over the course of all of these interviews is I don't think James Gunn likes casting stars. Like, Alan is a star already. I think he likes David Cornswet.
Starting point is 00:34:50 He likes turning people. Someone into that. And I think he's going to probably. try to do because what male actor are you going to get starwadage-wise to compete with Robert Pattinson at this point? Like there's only a couple. You don't really need that for Batman.
Starting point is 00:35:04 That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Batman could always be somebody that's a hot up-and-coming actor or an established actor that people like, a dependable actor. You don't really need a star for Batman. These guys are not being serious. I love our fans, man. What they say? J-Pro. Regina King,
Starting point is 00:35:20 as what are with it, please? I like it. Hey, Regina King. Amazing. You know who's in the leading, though, for Andrea Arjuna. Yeah, Bix or Mandor. Bix or Mandor. Bix for a woman. She just got cast in the Michael B. Jordan.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Right. Yeah, Thomas Crown Affair. Thomas Crown Affair. She took over her, is that Taylor Russell's role that she did? Well, she dropped out, and I think they just, I just saw it today on Twitter that she's going to be replacing her. And I'm like, damn, you're coming off, what's she'll call it, coming off Andor. Once again, I do think the, I think she would be a wonderful Wonderwoman.
Starting point is 00:35:54 I feel like James Gunn is like, that's too obvious. Like, I think he might... I don't know. Like, I think obvious isn't the thing with him. I think it's more of like who he really, really likes. Because he's, like, he's talked about finding corn sweat and like how he discovered him during Pearl and wanted to hear him in. And then it was like, this is a match made in heaven.
Starting point is 00:36:13 This is the perfect person that I want. I think that he wants to do like good research. He knows good stuff. And he knows good roles. I bet you a million dollars he's seen and or. And anybody that's... been great in that show, he would absolutely want to even consider for something like that. I don't think that that's too obvious. I think that, like, there's also a small, like, economics
Starting point is 00:36:33 of it to know that if you want to get somebody like a Nicholas Holt, who was reported to be, like, the most expensive actor that they build for Superman, knowing that those people have signed on, let's just ballpark it and say three to four more pictures, knowing that those salaries go up, those budgets will increase. Wonder Brothers is a bit more on the back foot financially. Maybe not to say they get a star on the cheat, but maybe not so much a star that's like on the most expensive A list. None of these characters will be cast with big stars.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Right. They don't even do that with superheroes anymore. They've really never done it. Outside of like Pedro for Reed Richards now, probably, and his check's going to be huge. Maybe. You could make the argument. You guys have a different opinion of Pedro Pascal. All right. The agents don't.
Starting point is 00:37:19 Okay. The chat. Actually, chat. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Right now. Right now. Let me ask you guys a question right now. Let me ask you guys a question right now. Is Pedro Pascal a movie star? Yes.
Starting point is 00:37:34 What's the biggest movie Pedro Pascal has ever opened? It'll likely be this. It'll likely be fantastic. Oh, no. He's not a movie star yet. He's not a movie star yet. Right. If this hits, it'll be a coronation for him as a movie star.
Starting point is 00:37:45 See, this is the deal. I was told this wasn't important, but continue. This is the deal. The reality is this. Like, social media allows us to love on an actor and like dig out parts from an actor that we really really like yeah for example George Clooney right when Batman and Robin comes out. George Clooney is not a movie star he's uh he's been in movies and he is the biggest actor
Starting point is 00:38:12 on television right yes but to be a movie star something different so Pedro Pascal they cast that guy as they didn't cast Leonardo DiCaprio as Reed Richards. No. They didn't cast Matt Damon as Ray Richards. They didn't cast Brad Pitt as Ray Richard. They didn't cast any of those guys. They went with the guy that they know we all love who has a deep, deep, deep, deep community in this space, someone who's very dependable that will go out and we'll check out. All right, I will say
Starting point is 00:38:45 58% of the chat has voted yes, Pedro is a movie star because they like him. People call him Pedro an IP merchant which is. There are a lot of Pedro is mid-Pedro note. So it's actually divided. Yeah, I mean, they like them. I like them. But I'm saying like when I'm talking about casting a big movie star in a superhero role,
Starting point is 00:39:07 I'm talking about going out and getting one of the big guns. All right. So we're going to Burbank to go see Fantastic Four. If you like Fantastic Four, this week I want a Pedro apology. You've been talking so much shit. I think he deserves an apparel. apology if he pulls it off. The crazy thing is, fuck you guys.
Starting point is 00:39:28 I don't know what? I love Pedro Pagrake. No, you don't. You're the biggest hater. You're his biggest hater. You know, the crazy thing is, you know how they say, in the land of the blind, the man, the one-eyed man is king? In the land of the dickwriters.
Starting point is 00:39:49 Yeah, finish that one. In the land of the dick riders. The one on his knees. The man that just has a balanced tape is the hater. Yeah, I know how that feels. Exactly. I know how that feels. See, look, now, look, and so when I'm saying this, I love Pedro Pascal going back.
Starting point is 00:40:07 Y'all didn't even remember Pedro Pascal from Equalizer 2. Y'all don't even remember the Pedro Pascal. I remember. From Buffy? Like, all the way back, go back to Pedro Pascal. So I'm saying is, big deal, he still has, I've seen enough of Reed to know that read will probably work. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:22 But Pedro Pascal as the big movie star, although I did hear that Edinton is the movie of the year. Oh. Yeah, I got to see that. Is that even scary? I can't do more. No, I don't think it's scary. It's just bleak because it's what, like the 2020 stuff? It's during COVID.
Starting point is 00:40:35 So this might be Pedro Pascal's ascension as the movie start. That would be perfect. Three movies out this summer with him in it. It'll be just in time for Mandalorian and Grogel when that comes out. All right. So I want to get some more questions in here. I'm going to fuse two now. Kenkin 29.
Starting point is 00:40:52 You guys think they will bring the sidekicks into the DCU and possibly get a Young Justice movie. And then, where is it? We have Dale. I would love to see static on the live action screen. Who do the Mindyke boys want to see live action who has never been static before? So they're already doing Teen Titans. They're already doing Teen Titans. I don't think that's ever coming out.
Starting point is 00:41:12 I think it will. They can't do static because they don't have the rights. They don't have the right. James God has said that's a milestone character for whoever. So that's complicated. I'm also going to be honest, I don't know if a static. I'm not that excited for it.
Starting point is 00:41:27 I like the cartoon. I'm a big static fan. To get a static movie right is tough. You could do, I think you could do static. I don't know what a movie would look like, especially in the world we have of the Miles Morales, Spider-Man stuff, like with the animation and the way that is,
Starting point is 00:41:45 if you just do a live-action static, I don't know if that moves people. I think Teen Titans could. They'd have to get the roster right. because what we're not going to do is start throwing Tim Drake on there. Like, that's not how it goes. You want Damien?
Starting point is 00:41:58 No, no. That's even worse. You want Dick, Grace's worse? I want Dick. Oh, you want one, Jeremy. Oh, Daddy! Dick. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:42:09 I want Corey. I want Raven. I want Star 5. Yeah, like, just give me the core 5. Like, don't play. Don't do 2. I need some of the core 5 inches? The core 5 inches.
Starting point is 00:42:21 Right. You want the core 5 inches? Just right up in there. I actually don't think that, moving forward on seriously, I don't think that Dick Graysion should be ever on the, should ever be on the Teen Titans team. Why? Because I think, number one,
Starting point is 00:42:34 Robin should never be Dick Grayson right now. Why? Why? I think we're past that. We're fucking, this take. This take is tank. Boo.
Starting point is 00:42:45 Boo. This is my hot take. Damien is overexposed. I don't need to say no, Davey. I didn't say we're past Dick Grayson as a. a character. I think we're past Dick Grayson as Robin. You want Nightwing
Starting point is 00:42:56 for Dick Grayson. I want Big Grayson to be particularly in a DCU. I want Dick Grayson to be the counterbalance to Batman. I want him to be, I want, especially if you're going and you're doing the Brave and a Bowl, right? Which, you know, if you're doing the Brave and a
Starting point is 00:43:14 bowl, then you need Dick Grayson to represent what he represents in DC Comics, which is a version of of Batman with the skills and all of that stuff, but that has incredible heart and that people can rally around and that someone that like, if Damian Wayne or another wayward character is growing wary of Batman and they need to talk to somebody, they can talk to Dick Grayson or Dick Grayson can talk to Batman. I think that dynamic of an older Dick Grayson,
Starting point is 00:43:45 who has started to become a hero in his own right and an older Batman is more compelling than Dick Grace and the orphaned kid, that's the first Robin we ever saw. I just don't, I think that I think you were all. I don't know if I 100% agree with you, but in terms of the way James Gunn has set up this universe, I think he's proven is way more interesting to start three years into Superman's career
Starting point is 00:44:11 than at the beginning. I don't need to see Batman and Robin meeting for the first time. I would like to see the evolution of Robin to Nightwing. If you were going to be like, oh, we're going to start with Titans, and it's going to be Dick Grayson. I was like, I think it would be cool if in the second or third movie,
Starting point is 00:44:26 oh, he's Nightwin now, he's with Starfire, Damien's there. Like, what was the Teen Titans movie that they did, the animated one? Where it was like Nightwing was in it, but there was also Damien. I like that mixture. Yeah, that's a thing about it.
Starting point is 00:44:42 What I don't want them to do is skip steps, right? What I don't want is for when Batman, Brave and the Boat comes out, and it's Batman and Damien, and there's no Dick Grayson. There's no Jason top. no Tim Drake. That's the first Robin. I'm like, I don't know. I don't quite like that. But wouldn't you say that that could work because theoretically, this Superman skipped a few
Starting point is 00:45:01 steps in the idea of an origin story and then just kind of just got us going. Skipped a few steps. He changed. I mean, there's comic president for a lot of the stuff, but it still gets us going. Like, it still kind of starts us in media rest for like. Wait, really quick. I have to ask this really quick. Great question. This is from Clifton Creed. Who's kicked up enough to play Nightway? A ass like that has not yet been Does not exist By a white boy
Starting point is 00:45:27 The white boy actor? Yeah, there's some people out there Chat, give us some I don't know I don't like People said Timothy Shalaman I'm like Timothy Shalamee Don't got no ass
Starting point is 00:45:36 You don't got enough In the tank for that With the dude he plays Cal Rally Who plays for the Seattle Mariners Oh yes Okay He can play
Starting point is 00:45:44 Big Dumber Big Dumber He's a catcher All right this is some other questions We have Let's do some rapid ones. Go-Go-Gol 15.
Starting point is 00:45:54 Are you guys scared that Supergirl is about to be Midland? Oh, no. What I'm worried about. I will say this. I've read a super... What's the... Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow? Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:46:05 I've read that comic. What I am worried about is that features a Supergirl who essentially goes to another galaxy with a red sun so she can get drunk, celebrate a birthday. Playing drunk is one of the hardest things for an actor to do. nine times out of ten it looks kind of bad. I am wondering if that's the part that they can land an intoxicated supergirl that's not too handy. It might not be as played up as it is in the comic
Starting point is 00:46:33 because that supergirl in the comic is more or less drunk the entire time. But that's what Supergirl is doing in this movie where I was like, oh, you're playing the drunk very heavily. The Supergirl just needs to find her purpose. Yeah. The movie needs to make us believe that Supergirl has a purpose in the world where Superman exists.
Starting point is 00:46:53 And that's not me making a specific critique of that character, but really, in a lot of the Superman stories that we've come to love, they make sense because there's one Kryptonian on Earth. Right?
Starting point is 00:47:09 And in this world, where you're going to have Supergirl in it too, she just needs to have her own purview, her own personality, her own deal, her own thing. Right. And if they can land that, the movie will be a success. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:23 TDM-9 with Gun popularizing Groot Rocket Peacemaker and now Mr. Terrific, who's the most James Gun character that hasn't had a significant movie portrayal in the D.C.? What do you mean? Like what character is like primed to make James Gunn type character? Easy. Plastic man? Plastic man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:45 Plastic man. Plastic man. I was thinking Adam Strange. One of the most powerful. Adam Strange is James Gunn, but he's like more weird. You get Jack Quaid as plastic band. They're already doing this, but it's not as live action. I actually think it could work is Mr. Miracle.
Starting point is 00:48:00 Mr. Miracle, to me, is a very James Gunn character. Interesting. Booster Gold. Booster Gold. James Gunn said that they, that script was having problems. That's why I didn't. Because wasn't that a part of the initial ones that came out in terms of like, oh, we're getting the mascara,
Starting point is 00:48:17 We're getting Booster Gold. We're getting Amanda Waller. Booster Gold is tough. That's a tough character to get. I feel like there are people you can cast, like Chris Pratt, a Camille Nagiani. Like casting is not too hard. Probably riding that character
Starting point is 00:48:31 to be somebody that we actually mess with. Someone said Detective Chimp. Detective Chim. Ambush is actually a good call. Ambush bug, the Terrifics. Okay. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Let's see. Another question. This one is good. Charles, will you watch Peacemaker Season 2? Oh, you know. Will Charles do his job? Charles's job is to watch shows. Yeah, he'll be there.
Starting point is 00:48:52 Yeah, he'll watch. We'll watch it. We'll keep that on the rest. The air of Charles not watching shows. It's over. It's over. It's over. That era is past.
Starting point is 00:49:00 Charles watching this shit. God damn it. All of it. Jeff Barnett said, how can the MCU get to the World War Hulk storyline? I think she Hulk fucked that shit up. Well, they, well, was an abomination in terms of the World World War Hulk's story line.
Starting point is 00:49:13 Jesus, it was no. Introducing Star was not in that. Not an hour. It was just fine, whatever, but putting the way they described it was crazy. Like, really, they just have to commit to it. The movie rights are still walking? I don't think so anymore. Okay, well, if they're not, then they could already do that because they've introduced the Illuminati.
Starting point is 00:49:36 So since they introduce the Illuminati, then you have essentially what you need to start the World Warhol. I don't know, man. I don't know if it fits into what they're trying to. I don't know. This is so hard. It definitely would fit post. Secret Wars, yeah, yeah. Post Secret Wars for a reset.
Starting point is 00:49:53 Well, if we get a more savage Hulk. That could be interesting. Yeah, that could. We can never get in a World War Hulk movie. We could, though. We could, but I just, it's real. I feel like we're too far gone after this now. Like, after Secret Wars resets everything, like, what's to be done?
Starting point is 00:50:06 You tell the stories you haven't told. You tell that story, right? You tell the world where they sent Hulk off to God knows where, and he found his love, and then he comes back. They blow it. They blow him. up, he comes back, he's like, you killed my girl. It's like, actually, I didn't kill your girl.
Starting point is 00:50:21 One of your homies killed your girl, so you wouldn't leave, and then he breaks the world up. Like, you could definitely do that in a new MCU. Now it's a little tough, but you could definitely do that. We have to see what this MCU looks like after the reset, and I'll tell you something. Because the X-Men are in it, it'll already be more serious. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:39 The X-Men are big, heady characters with all of this, angst, nutting on each other, all of that stuff. Like, it'll already be different than what it was before. Let me ask you this. Instead of World War Hulk, would you rather have a Wolverine versus Hulk movie? I mean, that could work, too. That could be good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:56 All right, I have, there's some good questions. All right, rapid fire. Reese Roberts. All the Midnight Boys have to face Dr. Doom tomorrow, who's running away first? Steve. He's running away? Me. Yeah, Steve.
Starting point is 00:51:07 Yeah, probably. Yeah, Steve. It's easy. All right. Let's see. Who is going to be the main villain of the Batman 2? That's from J-Pro. I heard we, I mean, people
Starting point is 00:51:17 mentioned Mr. Freeze, but I don't We don't know how to do that is. The Court of Isles, right? I think it's the court of aisles, makes the most sense. I would really like it to me, Mr. Freeze, because I really want a good Mr. Freeze. You didn't like Arnold Schwarzenegger's, Mr. Freeze?
Starting point is 00:51:29 To a degree, I loved the camp of that, but I actually like the, like, I love the idea of a good, tragic, like, terribly sad, Mr. Freeze. So here's the thing, and we talked about this, I love the fans. I don't be very clear. I love it.
Starting point is 00:51:45 single one of you guys. You guys are amazing. One of the fans on the Facebook was like, Superman's got a deep rose gallery. It's mad crazy. That's not true. But Batman has one. Yeah. And we're talking about like Mr. Freeze, quarter of hours, like the roster is deep. Yeah. It's incredibly, you could really do whatever. We could really do whatever with it. And the roster is deep, but the thing that makes Batman's roster so great and Spider-Man's too, is that all of these villains, are central at some point in really classic stories. The problem with Superman is Superman has all of these villains.
Starting point is 00:52:24 People have all these villains. He doesn't have villains that are really tied to great classic Superman runs other than really less. There are a couple of others, but not really. Brainiac is the best. Brainiac would be the best film Superman villain for me that hasn't really been done yet. In my experience, most of the villains from the anime,
Starting point is 00:52:45 series, which is like my like key lore for Batman, like all of those villain stories have to tie into like the ethos of why Batman does what he does. And it like twists and like changes why he changes who helps him or why he goes off on his own and doesn't tell somebody this or like there's a reason behind like some villains like sorrow or origin that like is like reflected in in himself. And I think that is probably the key to what makes a great Batman villain because I All of that is tied, that growth is tied together, the best of which is being the Joker's, because they keep clashing and coming back.
Starting point is 00:53:22 But with Superman, it's just like, okay, how strong can we make this? How is he going to get out of this one? And then his growth as Superman is just kind of either insular or based on the people around him that he loves because he has a family. Batman only has his villains. There's a really good question. Shout out Jaden Stevens.
Starting point is 00:53:39 Do you, do y'all like the idea of a younger X-Men team, like Faggy stated? what I will say this it seems like Fagy might for the first film be going with the classic five which was Gene Gray Cyclops Iceman Angel
Starting point is 00:53:56 Beast do you do you guys fuck with that or do you feel like no you got to give us the hits we need Wolverine Storm Nightcrawler or are you guys interested in being like hey yo let's lead up to that let's we could do the original five then I mean look to me the X-Men
Starting point is 00:54:13 began with Chris Claremont. And there is the class to take on the X-Men that starts and forms the team and builds a lore. But the X-Men really, to me, begin with Chris Claremont. And you're talking about the uncanny X-Men,
Starting point is 00:54:30 Wolverine Colosses Storm, like that iconic team. Right. And so that's the beginning of the team to me. I don't feel like there's really much need to start off with the classic actual
Starting point is 00:54:46 blue and yellow like first class type of stuff I don't think you I don't think you need to do that but it could be interesting but here's the thing I get what you're saying
Starting point is 00:54:56 part of me is like if they want the X-Men to be what they are part of me is like don't speed run it like yeah like get us fall in love with kind of like
Starting point is 00:55:05 the original five second movie when you finally we get Wolverine and this and that they're just so bland they all white they all American I mean, that's what they're trying to do already.
Starting point is 00:55:17 But what I'm saying is, it's like they don't, there's nothing to the team. See, when they came along and they were like, Russian made of Steele and a sister. Oh, speaking of Africa, check this out. Speaking of. So, Jomi had a birthday party. All right, all right, all right. Are we here already? Just real quick.
Starting point is 00:55:34 Now, we got to go in a second, but I want to tell you out something real quick. No. Jomey had a birthday party. I did. And let me tell you out something. Jomey set this. this bar off. Before me and Collegal went to the birthday party, Caligal, was like, have you seen how many people have RSVP for this?
Starting point is 00:55:51 I'm like, man, there's Jomey. Everybody came out for Jem. And everybody did. Jomey might have had 50 people in a bar, like we're doing it. Those wait staff hated us. Like, not just when I say, the bar had his regular patrons, and then Jomey had the whole half of the place we're going crazy. So Jomey's family comes to this. Yeah. Right? And Jomey's family, African. Right? And so. So we're all hanging out.
Starting point is 00:56:15 It's me. Alaya's there. Jay comes later. She don't really fuck what else like that. And so everybody's... You know that they're not on mic to defend themselves right now. Everybody's there. Jomi's family comes in.
Starting point is 00:56:28 I meet a couple of them. And then I started noticing something. They weren't with us. Don't start the die-ass-room-wood. No, no, man, exactly did that. That's exactly what he did. All by themselves over there hanging out. Then there was actually one time.
Starting point is 00:56:43 Right. Where they went in the corner and y'all think this is bullshit. It wasn't bullshit. They all huddle together. This is real. I had one of Jomey's friends from high school because I thought it was a we've known each other for a long time thing. The nigga that worked for the Dodgers. Clinton, yeah, my guy, Clinton.
Starting point is 00:56:59 Shout out of Clinton. Clinton, cool the shit. Hell yeah. So I'm looking at Clinton. I'm like, Clinton, you're not a part of the thing. And Clint goes, nah, man. Jomi and then. Then, so later on.
Starting point is 00:57:11 Later on, because they're, you know, they were. fuck with black americans that's not what happened so later on i noticed something we all over here and joey's people got their own table on the other side of this one's true this is true i'm like what that's shit is going on we got a we got a question from the chat riz roberts did joey leave with an infinity stone gauntlet of white women i will tell you oh god no no no that's how we're going say about that. Keep respectful. Might have been cleared of
Starting point is 00:57:41 me. Keep a good man allegations. Might be the milkman allegations. Nah, Jomey out here. Johnny did come home and the whole deal. There's a funny story
Starting point is 00:57:52 I could tell about that. We're not going to. Because me and Chuck realized something at the same time. Yeah. It was funny. Me and another party said something
Starting point is 00:58:03 and then Chuck and then Chuck went, huh. And I went, oh. Calica was looking at it's like, Don't. Colica's like,
Starting point is 00:58:12 stop. She, Colica pulled me to the side. Don't you make that girl feel uncomfortable? That's enough. That's enough. All right, let's do one more question that we're going to get out of here.
Starting point is 00:58:24 Thank y'all. You all have had like some fucking amazing questions. I'm trying to keep up with all of them. You know what? I'm going to end with this because I've always wanted to do more in this space. Gavin, Gavin asked us, do y'all keep up with current comments?
Starting point is 00:58:38 like the uncanny X-Men series set in New Orleans. So, Van, you've been getting into Absolute Batman. Oh, my Lord, have mercy. Jesus Christ. It's not just Absolute Batman, but it's Absolute Batman, too. Some of the other ones... Absolute Wonder Woman is my favorite. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:58:52 I've read that one. Absolute Martian Manhunter as well. Amazing. You were telling me about that. So let me tell you why, real quick, I'll be uncharacteristically concise. But here's the thing. While Van is talking, listen to Van talk about Absolute.
Starting point is 00:59:05 In the chat, if you guys want us to come cover some of this stuff. If y'all want some absolute content, whatever, like tell us what comics y'all want us to read. Right. Continue then. So I enjoy these particular two runs because they are answering a question.
Starting point is 00:59:22 And the question is, is there a contemporary way to tell the same story? Absolute Batman is different. They take some of the things that you would think are fundamental about Batman and they change them, but the character is still the same. You think that it's really important that Batman is super wealthy.
Starting point is 00:59:43 It's kind of not because the only way that Batman's wealth really informs his character, there's a lot of ways. I don't want to go too far with it. But that's just the reason he can afford to do all the stuff that he does. But it's really his genius that allows him to utilize his wealth. He's a really great engineer. Yeah. So it's really his genius.
Starting point is 01:00:07 His mom is still a lot. And the first, so like in this one, they prioritize family. Because his mother's still alive and his genius. Even his relationship with Alfred starts out totally different. Way different. It's awesome. But then ends up the same. They end up kind of having the same relationship.
Starting point is 01:00:23 His Rose Gallery or his friends. Or his friends. And it makes more sense the way he is, the connection he has to these different characters, that he knew them. Yeah. And that they came from the streets of Gotham. but they all knew each other and just went in different ways. It's really compelling. Superman just blew my fucking mind.
Starting point is 01:00:43 Really? I don't really. I'm not fucking like as much. It's Wonder Woman than Batman for me. Superman just blew my fucking mind. I think for me it's like Batman, Wonder Woman than Superman. Like Superman just, Superman blew my mind with the chances that they took the amount of craft that was put into it. Just the look of the character is one of my favorite iterations of Superman thus far.
Starting point is 01:01:04 So the chat is like freaking out. They want us to do like some. absolute content. Even if it's just a little on the back end of a podcast. They really... The comic arc draft. Tell me y'all.
Starting point is 01:01:14 The what draft? Say it louder. The comic arc draft. I'm telling you. All right. I'm pitching it. Hey, guys, we'll do... Hey, if y'all...
Starting point is 01:01:22 If y'all like, comment, subscribe, if we see a jump, I promise you. I'll be on everybody. We'll get you some comic book content. But, yo, I think we went for an hour. How are you all feeling?
Starting point is 01:01:33 We're looking at an hour. Yeah. That's good. You took an hour. And hours good. If you could go for... Hours great. If you could go for an hour.
Starting point is 01:01:41 Hours great. Really, because really when you think about it, a solid 15 minutes... All right. Thank you guys. I mean, ultimately, it's about your cardiovascular. I mean, it's also about pace. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:52 Like, it's also about pace and, like, move. And if you do it right, and everybody's happy after and out. Thank you. As long as everybody is liking and enjoying... Enough of us for joining. You know what I'm saying? Joining us.
Starting point is 01:02:03 Your questions were amazing. We appreciate you guys. What we got coming for them, then. That's a wrap this week. on the Ringiverse feed, in addition, comic hype meter, Wednesday button match
Starting point is 01:02:13 will have their reaction to Donkey Cone, Bonanza on the House of Our feed. They continue the hot no-in summer with inception, along with a bunch of SDCC content. Look, you guys,
Starting point is 01:02:25 we're on a lookout, midnight boys. We're on a lookout. We're looking for Eric Voss in San Diego. We're on the hunt for walls. We're going to kidnap Eric Voss. Is it a kidnapping?
Starting point is 01:02:38 if we know, if we announce it. We're going to kidnap what we're going to look. The Midnight boys are taking Eric Voss hostage. Voss, if you listen to this. We're coming for you. We're coming for you. Look over your shoulder. It's just a soft invite.
Starting point is 01:02:50 We're going to kidnap him. A kidnapping. See who comes to save him. All right. Alianzaneers, who was also at Jomey's birthday. Really? She had a great time. Generational shit.
Starting point is 01:03:04 Jay Waley. John Richter John. John. Oh, man, John. Oh, God. John. Shut on John. And Jonathan Freas.
Starting point is 01:03:10 Freas? Freas. Freas. Jonathan Freas. Joe me at dinner on. Hashtad, Superherom. Got to bring that back.
Starting point is 01:03:20 Gotta bring that back. Hell yeah. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Hell yeah. And by the way, just let you guys know. The story of Jomey's birthday party is not over. It is not over. That part of Jomey's birthday party might be over.
Starting point is 01:03:30 But I also have some things to say about Charles. I realize something about Charles at Jomey's birthday party. We can't get into it right now. But I really. realize something about Charles that will fundamentally change how everyone looks at Chuck. Because I saw him doing it. Chuck does something that only you don't, Chuck does something that only one guy I've ever seen do correctly. Chuck, he does one thing.
Starting point is 01:04:00 Like, Chuck has a, I haven't found out what to call it yet, but he, he, he, uh, he hate charms. He charms women with hate It's this instigation Yeah I saw it happen I saw Yeah, I saw this happen He hate charms women
Starting point is 01:04:21 Yeah Like like like I look at Calica I go Man Charles is insulted this girl Like three times He's fucking loving it Like she's talking about the same girl
Starting point is 01:04:31 Yeah No No No No No I'm like, and she's fucking loving it. Y'all been doing that, though.
Starting point is 01:04:39 She's like, looking at her eyes, you're big. Look at you. I'm like, she's fucking with my man. Additional production from our Juno Ramka pal. The hate charmer. I'm mad at you. Thanks, everybody. See you.
