Starting point is 00:02:20 Wow. Ha, ha, ha. Then there's another side of the comments. Yeah. Which are like, I can't believe you let this black, this white man get comfortable. Who said that? A lot of people. A lot of people.
Starting point is 00:02:31 I called it out immediately. I will say this, though. There was some dick riding on behalf of the Ring ofverse social. What do you mean? Because you put the clip out. And the clip is, oh my God, we love Steve. Steve's so great, all that stuff. Just let the clip live.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Steve can handle a self-grown man. Oh, you mean in the comments? No, I'm talking about in the comments, when you were trying to soften the blow. Let me tell you got something right here. Oh, you had to like pin the other stuff. I was trying to pay the other stuff. I was trying to play with my man?
Starting point is 00:02:58 Let me tell you got something right here right now. Aren't we a gay couple too? We're going to love each other. By the way. This is the reality. The reality is Steve is one of us. All right. Don't fuck yourselves.
Starting point is 00:03:08 This is how we talk. This is who we are. But that means that no dick ride. We don't dick ride each other. No glazing. Right. No glazing. Right.
Starting point is 00:03:17 No, that's not true. That's you're right. Actually, I changed my mind. Everything I just said was wrong. Get it out of here. There's only one time that the midnight boys glaze each other is when you guys attack one of us. We can attack each other. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:27 Nobody comes for each other. But if you guys attack one of us, then we will have to glaze. So I guess, but you use the official social media as opposed to. You should have just done it as journey. I will say it does drive me crazy, you know, when you be talking to your yourself on the socials. Yeah, we know of you. I'm like, motherfuckers, we know that.
Starting point is 00:03:44 You got to know that sweet. It's great. But a lot of people, for my birthday, I was going crazy. Yeah. That was funny. Honestly, it's an abuse of power. It is.
Starting point is 00:03:55 It is. It's that thing with Chris Evans in not another teen movie. We took a picture of himself. praising the picture of himself. It's not. It's not. It's an abuse of power.
Starting point is 00:04:05 But we love Steve. And, by the way, I just have you guys know that Steve answered the question correctly. So do what you will with that. We're on YouTube, like, comment, subscribe, share. You can watch every Midnight Boys on House of Art episode on YouTube. com backslash at Ring Reverse.

Starting point is 00:04:48 What's your favorite Buffy episode? Sorry to Joe about this. I can't remember about musical episodes great. I know my favorite characters. Joe might be the best podcaster in the world. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:59 How's that sound? That's pretty accurate. How's that sound? Huh? You guys talk about all your different people? Fucking Joe Rogan. Mark Merrin. You got to talk about all of these people
Starting point is 00:05:11 and you like to put Joanna Robinson above him. This is a fascinating energy today. Where did you get this from? I say she's better. Okay. We wouldn't. Who the fuck y'all like
Starting point is 00:05:20 at podcasting? I put Joe up against them. I'll send Joe. Joe. So Joe over Joe Biden, Joe versus Joe. Joe versus Joe. That's a tough one. Because Joe versus Joe.
Starting point is 00:05:29 What happened to all of revival? I'll tell you what happened. What happened there? Stand on it. I got to be honest with you. Despite any negative feelings that there might have been at one time between me and one Mr. Joe Button.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Right. That nigger's an expert podcaster. Like he's just a fucking fantastic podcasting. And now, notice, disrespect to Joe, is there a difference between just a good yapper and a podcaster? No, no, no, no, no. Are you calling Joe Button?
Starting point is 00:05:58 Whoa, Steve, are you calling Joe Button? No, no, I'm asking. I'm asking because some people would say. First of all, I'd be honest with you. If we wanted to criticize Joe Button, we can criticize your button. You don't criticize your button. No.
Starting point is 00:06:10 What's your favorite, what's your favorite track on mood music? He doesn't even have a favorite track on mood music. Are you trying to say mute music? What? What are you talking about? You're trying to say move? I know, Steve, because.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Are you trying to say, we just got a moment. Are you trying to say move music? No. That's not good rap. No, I didn't say that. Oh, okay. That's what you did.
Starting point is 00:06:34 That's basically what you said. Like, are you trying to say? Why are we glazing Joe Button? What the fuck is happening right now? If it was Joe versus Joe Button, that's different. I compare to, I compare Joe to other white people, okay? Okay. But it's going to be some different shit that's going to happen in the way that they speak and they talk.
Starting point is 00:06:55 Two expert communicators, though, Joe just say stuff. Joe, John Robertson, just said stuff, and it clearly, concisely, and it matters, and she's a delight to listen to. Joe Bloods just speak, and you just be like, God damn, I like listening to me. It's tough. It's tough. It's good podcast. Great podcasters.
Starting point is 00:07:13 But in the realm, I'm glad you guys, in the realm of white podcasting, no ice fucking with Joanna Robinson. Honestly, next episode, white podcast host, Josh. White podcast host draft next episode. That's great.
Starting point is 00:07:29 You got to have a ringer category. One ringer category. One ringer category. Wait, are we doing a barstool category? Absolutely. Absolutely. Guys, stop.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Okay. And what the first man? You're like, I got Big Cat number one of all. Let's get to the Blacker. It's not who you draft. It's who you don't draft. It really says the man.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Yes, it's who. Jazz is who you don't play. Mind games. It's getting spooky. It's getting spooky. On the midnight, it's getting spooky. It's the witching hour, brother. On Thursday, Miner, they're on their best Halloween episodes with guest Alan Siegel.
Starting point is 00:08:17 On Friday, Buttmash reviews Ninja Gaden 4. Guiden 4, and we always say Gaden, 4 and Outer Worlds 2. Real quick, this was maybe like, okay, what was the first Ninja Gaden or whatever they came? What was the first? Like for Xbox? Nah. Wait, are you sure?
Starting point is 00:08:39 I thought... They had one for the... Oh, way back in the day. No, I played the old Ninja. They had one for, like, the Nintendo. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I remember... I remember one of my homeboys
Starting point is 00:08:49 got suspended for calling it nigger guiding. That's funny, though. That was funny, bro. That's funny. He was like, hey, man. It's like, I'm talking to Van. Van, go let me borrow that nigga Guyton.
Starting point is 00:08:59 I remember... That's funny. It was on the N. Watch was like, what? And she was like, yeah, we're going to play that nigger guide. She's like, Lewis. Get out. You can't do that.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Get out. I remember she was flabbering. She's like, get out. That's funny. It's actually a ninja. It's actually ninja. I'm just playing. She goes, I don't care.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Get out. Go to the principal's office. That's funny. I hit him later on him. I'm like, bro, they gave me two days for the nigger guidance shit. I'm like, what the fuck? Nigger guidance. And we called it Nigger.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Guy Guy in Guy for. Nicky Guy in four. That's what Ben should call it. Don't think he can get away with that. Bill is a good podcaster too. He's a great podcast. This episode is brought to by WeatherTech. Everyone knows Winter is the MVP and making a mess.

On today's show, The Midnight Boys are traveling to a galaxy far, far away for another black recast. You guys, on The Midnight Boys today, we are doing a full recast of Star Wars. Oh, my God, it's a black recast. All of the characters that existed in this fantasy world that for some of the first,
Starting point is 00:11:34 reason, some coincidence were all white, except for one. Two. Two. Kind of. Who else? Fader. Technically. Technically. We are going to recast and reimagine Star Wars as if Bix
Starting point is 00:11:48 had a place in the galaxy. Steve is going to participate. It's going to be interesting. You know what we're going to do here at the Midnight Boys? Since y'all wouldn't put us in this shit back in the day, we're taking our energy back. We're putting ourselves in it. Charles,
Starting point is 00:12:04 Before we get into the spoiler warning, do you want to give people any sort of guidelines for what we are about to do? All right, so I believe this is our third recast. We've done Lord of the Rings. We've done the Avengers films. Have we done any other recast? No, we have not.
Starting point is 00:12:20 So, laying this out, Star Wars is a vast universe. We're just keeping this recast to the first three original films, New Hope. Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi. We are recasting actors who are alive to take. So basically, like, this is like, if Disney, how much do you think we're getting for this movie? This is a, because we always start here.
Starting point is 00:12:41 All three? We're bundling it as a trilogy. Even for the first one. Like, what's our, what's our budget? Like, two, 200? They're probably going to give us two hundred. For us, it's probably going to get 200. So we should get more than that.
Starting point is 00:12:52 QPU production. We should get more, but you know how they do black people. You know how they did Ryan Coogler. Anyway. Yeah. So we are going to recast every major character from the first three. Basically, we all are going to go around, round, round, We are going to pitch what we want.
Starting point is 00:13:06 And then at the end of each, so for Luke, let's say for Luke, we're going to do a majority vote. Whoever wins gets into the movie. Have I forgotten anything? You have not. You've explained it expertly, as I would say. Now, so we are, when we started these in the past, we've already started with budget. We think we're getting 200. You don't think we can push them up higher?
Starting point is 00:13:26 We could go as 250. 250? Yeah. Because the reality is we got 200, but if we don't get the extra 50, we get bankrupt involved. You can get Ben Crump. I can get Ben Crump on the phone right now.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Me and Ben Crump, we're in Sympatical like that. Okay. And if we need to get 50 million more, we can get the community involved, get everybody together. Don't make me put Hawk Newsom on them. I'll call up to New York
Starting point is 00:13:49 and put Hawk Newsom on these motherfuckers if I need my $50 million. There's a problem, though. We're asking, like, this iteration of Star Wars hasn't been seen yet. People don't know that they love Star Wars. Free Hawk.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Can we get $250 for a project that people don't know that they like don't love yet like in this economy? I mean at this point, at this point they they canceling fucking Ben Solo movies, you know, so I think they're in the dirt. We can get, we can get, we could get $200, $250. We definitely not going to get it if we don't ask for it. I mean, I'm not saying we shouldn't ask. But I'm saying, well, we get it.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Yeah, it's the question. We're going to get it. We're going to ask for the $250 and then we're going to see what they give us. You know what I'm saying? You know how that goes. Now, here's the thing. I forgot to prepare for this part, but. director, writer,
Starting point is 00:14:36 who are we thinking? This is tough. First of all, put the spoiler one in here right now before we start potting. We're getting ready to talk about Star Wars. Nothing but Star Wars.
Starting point is 00:14:54 You're listening to a reaction podcast. The spoilers are coming. Boom. Good. All right, let's start with the director. So, we're directing a new hope here who's going to write it
Starting point is 00:15:13 who's going to direct it I have a thought here Cougler has to be out and let me tell you why obviously there's just not a movie that we're going to do that Cougler's not qualified for right
Starting point is 00:15:24 okay it's just this just the way that it goes it's not a movie that we're going to do that the answer isn't hey Ryan Couglas could direct it it's too easy let's push ourselves forward a little bit all right who are you thinking who are we thinking I'm thinking a couple of people this is an easy coogler could direct this right
Starting point is 00:15:40 Ava could direct this right Steve McQueen could direct this right who is the person though that's going to bring the energy the passion and the vision to Star Wars as a black director all right so I hear I think shout out our guy
Starting point is 00:15:59 I think we could get not only to direct and write it core Jefferson oh wow ooh so Cords, like, Cords's been in the mix for a couple of things. Because so I, let me get you on. Academy Award winning screenwriter. There's someone who's already been involved in the Star Wars universe that I think also could write it.
Starting point is 00:16:18 We could get his brother also in this. Donald Glover, the Glover brothers. Like, he's been in the system. Okay. Donald's to write, Stephen, the only problem with Donald writing is Donald's going to try to jump in the movie and play every part. He loves Star Wars too much. Right. But Donald and Stephen would be a crazy team.
Starting point is 00:16:33 That'd be a great team. Crazy team on that. Donald, Stephen is good. Steve, you got anybody? I mean, Steve McQueen kind of was my, he's done some of my, like, favorite movies. And, like, I kind of would have wanted to see an interesting writer. Like, Glover is really interesting to write it.
Starting point is 00:16:50 I don't know if that's going to be, like, I think of a classic adventure film like The Hope, like, a New Hope is. And I feel like he's got a lot of, like, amazingly great and heady ideas that could really, like, revitalize an adventure like that. I'm kind of sold on. on that, actually. I really, really like that. Nia DeCosta? Oh.
Starting point is 00:17:12 All right. We're producers now. Keep it real. Keep it real. Nia da Costa. It's not her fault. No, no, no, no. It is not Nia's fault. I haven't seen Heather, though. Have you? I have not. Okay. Okay. It's getting good reviews. I'm just worried. I don't know if Nia de Costa, if I'm, I kind of want to get her out of the big IP space.
Starting point is 00:17:32 She's done a lot. And I'm just like, you know what? Because she did, um, she did Marble. obviously and then she's doing the new 28 days later movie right all the up yeah i kind of want to get her a little bit out of that ramel ross nickel boys did you guys see it oh i did not see nickle boys yet would he even accept he might not you know what's that like he's got a very distinct vision sure and if you extrapolate that vision out i can see him making a super cool star wars movie no love for barry jenkins i mean barry jenkins is good he's very like classical like lavish and like he's got a very
Starting point is 00:18:11 luscious eye for what he can bring to the camera think about what barry jenkins would do with the way he immerses you into a place right put you right in the middle not just into a setting barry jenkins has a way of putting you in the middle of the feelings the weight of it think about what that could do
Starting point is 00:18:31 what he could do with such grandiose topics that exist in star wars you want to know i like jenkins as well because he just got off the Lion King movie and like even though maybe that wasn't successful he's been in the system where he knows how the CGI how it works and I'm kind of just like we do need someone there who can make like this big CGI world beautiful
Starting point is 00:18:51 and I think Jenkins could fucking Jenkins could do that so who else? I had two wild pits Jule Taylor doing Declone Tyrone. That he's my director I like that or No
Starting point is 00:19:06 I like that. It's over. Okay. Sneak and pick for Boots Riley from Sorry to Bother You. Love Boots. Oh, I love him. Love Boots. Boots will make a crazy Star Wars movie.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Yeah, but I was like, that's if I wanted like a wild Star Wars movie. Jew Taylor is the one. Jewel Taylor's my director. Then who's writing then? That's probably, Glover's probably a great fit. I think Glover is a good fit. Glover could write it too. Cod could write it.
Starting point is 00:19:30 We got to get court to pay. We got to get Corpade. We got to get Corpade. It's not like people on, I've never heard him say a word about it. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't. But that's not bad though. You get somebody who like don't know Star Wars coming. You know what you did?
Starting point is 00:19:42 You guys just like court is so interesting because court, I have more actual faith in someone's belief. There's not anyone that I think examines every fucking piece of art for its own thing more than court. You never know what he's going to like. Never. You bring up a movie in Corgos, that fucking sucked. Right. You bring up a movie in Corgos, I fucking kind of dug that, man.
Starting point is 00:20:13 And you'd be like, what? I thought based upon the last thing that you wouldn't like this thing. No, man. No, I fucking dug. I see what they were doing and all of that stuff. See division. I see the vision. So you never know.
Starting point is 00:20:25 Okay, so Jewel Taylor is our director. By the way, we keep that home. And I think Jewel Taylor's M-88. Shout out to all my M-A-8 riders. All right. Shout out to Mac or all of, you know, shout out to, we, we are, we are, we a game at M88. We? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:42 All right, so who's our writer? I'm sorry. So he's, so scored? No, it's, it's Donald. Donald and Stephen. Man, I love this. All right, so first up, we got to go with Luke Skywalker. I'll start us off.
Starting point is 00:20:56 My pick, honestly, I think he might be one of the hottest black actors right now. There's only one other name I'd put above it. All right. He was in the long walk, industry, alien Romulus, Rylane, David Johnson. That's my, that's my pick. That's my pick. He's undeniable. He's so good, and I think he has the thing that Luke does where it's like, in every man, a little dorky.
Starting point is 00:21:24 But I could see by the time we get to return of the Jedi, like, Johnson, like, fully, like, taken over, like, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master Roll. Obviously, a great actor. Shoutout industry. Is he too old? I mean, I was, I was looking up. To be fair,
Starting point is 00:21:40 Mark Hamble was, was 23, 24 when he played Luke. He's 32. David Johnson doesn't look that old to me. He doesn't look that old. But, but,
Starting point is 00:21:47 but, you know, we don't, we need, we need eight years. So he's like, he doesn't go be 40. 40 years.
Starting point is 00:21:53 But I mean, but he's got like, so I went with Miles Canton from Sinners. That is an inspired pig. I love that. Because he, like,
Starting point is 00:22:03 he's like, he looks like, He looks like a child. He looks like he's 16 in the desert. And one day, old Ben Kenobi comes over. All of a sudden he's on this wild space adventure. That's an inspired. You want to know why I want to go with this one now?
Starting point is 00:22:18 Because we're going to need to get creative in terms of turning this into a mass market event. Could we get him for the first single? We do some Will Smith type shit. Oh, my goodness. You know what I'm saying? This is some insane. This is some insane. I kind of like
Starting point is 00:22:34 I got to be on this is some real niggering So it's like it's just crazy That in our movie We have to have Luke Not only save the galaxy But then he also got to give us A wild wild
Starting point is 00:22:47 He got to drop a hot single You got to sell the movie? I'm with it though You ain't fucking with it We don't we get Metro We get Metro Boomer We get someone else Metro Boomer
Starting point is 00:22:56 We can't go No no wait wait we can get Ludwig He did Childish Gambito beats For a minute He did We did get him back
Starting point is 00:23:03 Y'all not acting like the niggins not going to go for some Star Wars. So Star Wars rap would be crazy. Future. For future. We do the whole Black Panther album. The whole thing. I mean, it's for the culture. It's for the culture.
Starting point is 00:23:16 It's not a bad idea. So I had two. I had Caleb McLaughlin from Stranger Things. And then I had another pick that I love, actor that I love, has the baby face innocence of Luke. You guys know Asante Black from When They See Us? Look him up. You know this guy.
Starting point is 00:23:32 Like Asante Blake. from when they see us, he has that innocence. He was nominated for Emmy for this. He has that innocence that looking away. I honestly, this is actually my pick from Miles Morales. He has that innocence that looking away
Starting point is 00:23:50 to the stars type of deals is a crazy good actor to be such a young kid. It's a crazy good actor. I think he's phenomenal. I like him. I have to be honest, though. we're casting this movie and Cinners has just dropped.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Miles Canton is probably loose. I'm going on Miles. I think it's, that's actually... I think, Jomey, that's a good call. You killed it. You killed it. All right. Next up, Han Solo. Steve, I'm going to start with you. This is where I... Okay, I had a couple of things in my wheelhouse.
Starting point is 00:24:23 I wanted... I always keep finding myself putting Lakeith Stanfield in roles that I think he'd be great for. But something always kind of Wiggles it out. I think Lakeith Stanfield is my number two. I think Yaya Abdul-Matine is probably Hot Solo. It's not bad. This was the hardest for me. It was. This was the hardest for me. You know why it is to me? That's why I took a swing on this one. I took a swing on this one. Okay. But do you know
Starting point is 00:24:49 why it is to me? Because this is the character to me that has the death grip on the role more than anybody else. Yes. I mean, we saw it when when Solo came out. I don't think that our boy was pretty bad at it. Alden-Aerick. I don't think he was really bad at the role. No, no. But Han Solo is, what's that negative? Harrison Ford. Hans-Olo is Harrison Ford.
Starting point is 00:25:11 Yes, Harrison Ford. Hans-Soto is Harrison Ford. Yes. Like, there's, like, trying to divorce Han Solo and Harrison Ford is really impossible. So now I'm trying to figure out which one of our black brothers is Harrison Ford. It's tough, man. It's hard. What'd you come up with?
Starting point is 00:25:25 This is why Harrison Ford is the man, though. Because Harrison Ford is Hans Solo. Harrison Ford is Indiana Jones. He is two different guys, and these guys are kind of. a different, but he is those guys. He can charisma that type of around. Can I ask this? Do we even make Harrison Ford's anymore where it's like, you know,
Starting point is 00:25:43 he had that like 70s, 80s like, this nigga was a plumber before this shit. You know what I'm saying? He has a type of vibe where it's like 40. Most actors don't bring that type of like. Here's the thing about Han Solo. Han Solo is a scoundrel, right? So that means sometimes he's lying.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Yes. He is at his core, someone who will miss lead you, you still have to play that role to where the audience believes everything that you say. Yeah. He's really the most truthful. He's the character that knows himself the best in the entire three movies. So when Han Solo speaks, there's a power and an authenticity and sort of like a truth to it that you have to, you have to buy into that, even though you know sometimes he's just fucking with you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:33 Like, just, and so that's hard to do because it takes so much charisma to be a truthful liar. And it takes so much charisma to watch a character that was that turn. I don't know if he even lies that much, to turn into something bigger. It's just hard to do. It's hard to do. So this is my deal. I have all the usual suspects here. I have Aaron Pierre.
Starting point is 00:26:56 I have, I thought Jay Ellis could be a decent Han Solo. I have John David Washington, who is probably the sure as best. Here's my deal for me. Here's my deal. I have a Han Solo that's going to shock you guys. It's going to shock you guys right out your boots. Coming off of what I thought was a great performance in the movie, highest to lowest. I have A-Sap Rocky.
Starting point is 00:27:23 Absolutely not. Absolutely not. A-Sap Rocky is Han Solo. Well, he really won you over in highest-to-lois, didn't he? I just think this. we put A-Sab Rocky in the acting lab, right? We get them six months with the guy who's going to play my Obi-Wan, which I feel like this is the surest bet ever.
Starting point is 00:27:45 Okay. All right. The charisma, who could you see Leah not liking? And then all of a sudden turning around and being like, this is my guy, you know? Pretty fucking flaco. You feel what I'm saying? I'm talking about purple shit.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Purple swag. Purple swag was the record. I can't remember the name of it. I'm talking about a guy who is the thing about Hart. You know who Hall Solo is? Yeah. Haute Solo is the last guy that you want to see if you don't have a firm hold on your girl. So A'sab Rocky as Haar Solo.
Starting point is 00:28:24 The problem is Aesab Rocky can't add. I'm not saying he's not the greatest actor right now. I like him in Haaselos. He can swag his. We can get them to the point. You are correct. He can act as himself. Like in dope and highest and lowest,
Starting point is 00:28:38 he's great at playing himself. I've never seen him on screen. No. Play anything that's what I need him to be, though. What I need them to be, first of all, I want a fresh face. Okay. What I need them to be is somebody that can come in there
Starting point is 00:28:53 and be that swashbuckler, drop those one-liners. Really the guy that right away, you know, Leah's got, I'm telling you, bro. So I got a vision here, ASAP, rocking on so long. I can not not see it. Like, I can, I can kind of see it. Think of ASAP even in the uniform.
Starting point is 00:29:07 I can't. Can you watch the Aesat Rock in the car? I can't quite see him in the vest. But here's the thing. I could see Aesap, like, giving Leah some crap, him doing, him smiling. Yeah. And her, like, feel the type of way. I know.
Starting point is 00:29:22 I can see that. I can see that. Think about that thing right there. Asa. Scoundrel. I know. I know, bitch. Damn, why you gotta be bitch?
Starting point is 00:29:34 Why are you gonna be that? Why are you gonna do that? Tell you guys. Hell no. After actor, after actor, after actor, after actor, after actor, after actor. All of these guys, you guys have, y'all has a great. Right, right, right. I have a pick, because here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:29:51 We also need, we're thinking of, like, hits who has the hot hand. I'm going with my man who was in F1. I think Dancer could do it. Yeah, he could, but it's a little, Damson definitely could. Damson could almost be any of these roles, right? Yeah, Dan's good to do it a whole.
Starting point is 00:30:07 You saw him on that chicken shop with the white girls dancing. I was like, okay. Damson could definitely do it. I just think for one, it's a little safe. It is a little safe. A's a little bit too wild.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Aesab is real wild. I'm in the back. It's a gamble. But like you said, he runs the movie. He has. has a chokehold over the movie. If ASAP
Starting point is 00:30:34 don't get in that lab and don't do what he's supposed to do, the movie don't work. It's going to work. I think this is a role of Aesap for you, sick off. Man. Shout out to the whole Aesp.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Man, for real. So what's you got? What's you on? I'm just, I'm thinking about Aesap Rocky running through that hallway in a new hope screaming as the stormtroopers
Starting point is 00:30:54 are chasing. It would be funny. It would be funny. It would be funny. It would be funny. So, okay, we were going for a hall and so. Obviously,
Starting point is 00:31:00 you guys don't like my AACAp Rocky. No, I don't not like it. I think Damsson is a good choice. I went, like, real lazy with it. I took Idris just because, you know what I'm saying? He's too old. He's too old. I'll ask Egypt or somewhere else.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Yeah. Notice it. I just, I just watch House of Dynamite. How'd you like the House of Dynamite? I actually really enjoyed it. They kill him Bigelow. They do not like that movie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Okay, can I say something about House of Dynamite real quick, as I decide? There's a movie that people should watch from back in the day. And I've appreciated it, first of all, everything that's been said about the movie. It's true. But I look at it from a different way. There was a movie back in 1984 I used to watch when I was a kid. It was called, shit, it was called Countdown a Looking Glass. And the way that the movie was shot, Scott Glenn is in the film.
Starting point is 00:31:48 The movie was shot, like documentary style almost. It was the U.S. and the Soviet Union had had a skirmish over the Strait of Hormuz. in the Persian Gulf, which is where a lot of people thought the next World War would pop off because of the card of doctrine and all that stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:32:13 And they shot it like the news was like covering it. Like they shot it through the... And there was really no narrative to the movie. The movie only like actually depicted how the news would cover an impending exchange of nuclear arms.
Starting point is 00:32:30 And it was, terrifying. It was terrifying because the film immersed you, it put you right in the middle of an actual set of circumstances to this thing that is so possible that's almost likely if you extended over
Starting point is 00:32:45 a long enough period of time, but that we don't think can happen. And it reminded you, shit, this is something I need to care about. I think that's kind of what House of Dynamite does. House of Dynamite just, for me, in little ways, talks about all of these people's different lives, the minutia,
Starting point is 00:33:01 their lives. Your wife is pregnant at this. The fact that everybody's trained for this, but it's something that they never think is going to happen. What happens if it actually has to happen? So as I was watching a movie, I had this palpable sense of fear and tension that I think is the point of the film. As a movie, it's not a thing. But as a look at all of the stuff, this is how the world could end. And this is all the different perspectives of that. I thought that the movie worked. But I can see everybody that goes, it's really not a movie. There's no narrative art, there's no nothing. It's just like three or four different snapshots. But it reminded me of countdown
Starting point is 00:33:33 a looking glass. That's all I'll say. We can put this at the end if people want. Okay. Wait, actually, before we pick Han, should we talk about Leah? Because we actually need whoever we pick for Han to have amazing chemistry with our Leah. It is true. Okay. So who do we have for Leah? So the hardest thing for me
Starting point is 00:33:49 is like, okay, challenge yourself, Steve, to not pick Zendaya. Yeah, that was everybody's first pick. My challenge, because I just thought of her, but I'm like, A, we always go for a, for a light skins. That's exactly my thing. I'm going dark skin layer. I went dark. Me too, because I was like,
Starting point is 00:34:04 I went to chase infinity. I went dark. That's crazy. We are casting a dark, y'all say what y'all want. We're casting on this show. Yep. A darker skinned layer. It's important. Darker, darker. Darker. Darker. She was in the Woman King, no time to die.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Captain Marvel. I'm going LaShauna Lynch. Oh, interesting. LaShawn is great. Somewhat, because I was like, who could I see as the regal, like the regal princess Leia. You know what I'm saying? Like the ruler, but also has a little bit of a fun side and could also go up against our hon.
Starting point is 00:34:38 I went back to the center as well. And I'm going with our girl from the Batman and per cent. Jamie Lawson. Jamie Lawson. You guys went a little older for Leia. Well, yeah. Well, in contrast to our Luke, I would have to like recalibrate. Oh, you guys were a little older for Layas.
Starting point is 00:34:56 Luke's twin sister just to let you guys know. Right. She looks. Come on. Hold on for a second. Yo, guess what I'm doing? I'm being a producer, okay? I'm not talking about these sisters ages.
Starting point is 00:35:07 Right, right, right. Those two women that you just named are fucking, but I'm just saying we are casting them when we talked about your man from industry. It's 32. We said he was too old to play Luke. And now, so, you know what I'm saying? Just keeping it out there. We're producing a movie right here.
Starting point is 00:35:24 People are going to be, oh, it's like the way. So, I. went with one person that's once again never acted before that I know for Leia and then somebody else who I thought could be a great layer. Okay. And it is one with Coco Jones
Starting point is 00:35:40 as Leia. I think Coco Jones would be great. That's funny. I like Cocoa Jones. I think she's beautiful. Beautiful dark skin sister. Coco Jones is Leia. That would be fantastic. All right? It's time to have it. I mean, it would be like you want to make a single out of the whole. No, no, no, no, no. We got to have a conversation.
Starting point is 00:35:58 I love Coco Jones. I think Coco Jones is one of the most beautiful woman in the world right now. Just an incredible human being. I was in an elevator with her once, and I couldn't breathe. I was captivated. Let's be for real. Okay. She can't be Leah.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Why? Well, actually, I'm sorry to see the mission. You just hit the Instagram real quick. The thing with Leah is, let me ask you a question. What are your favorite Carrie Fisher roles prior to Lay? That's not the point. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, you're trying to, see what I'm trying to flip it. I'm not trying to flip it.
Starting point is 00:36:37 That's what you are, though. Is that Rocky and Coco Jones is a little too much now? We got to be safe. Let's be funny. But I have a backup as well. All right. What's the backup? Who's the backup?
Starting point is 00:36:44 Marseille Martin. That I can see. You need somebody who's like, obviously, like, very pretty, very. M.88. Wip smart. Somebody who's quick, somebody who you believe. Nica, what are you trying to say about Coco Jollollon? It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:36:58 I'm not saying that. I'm not saying that. I'm not saying that. You see how they Nigerians do are. Nigeria is the, Wip smart, Nigeria. That's not what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Don't you fix your mouth? That's not what I'm saying. That's not what I'm saying. We not whipsed smart? I bet you would think she was smart if her name was Coco and Funga. I bet you would think she was smart then. That's not what I'm saying. Oh my Lord.
Starting point is 00:37:25 You know what I'm saying. Hey, why's her in the she that? Maybe it's a little harsh. Maybe it's a little harsh. Maybe it's a little harsh. But let's be for real. Nika. You better to be for real quick. Be for real.
Starting point is 00:37:36 What to be for real? What do you mean? What do you mean? What do you mean? What do you mean? On God. Clean up. No.
Starting point is 00:37:45 Why? Laya needs to be whipsmart and Coco Jones can be. I'm not saying that Cocoa Joe can be real front. I'm not saying that she's not who's not smart in real life. I'm just saying when I think of Leah, I think of somebody who like on their front, like, It's just somebody who you're like, at first you're like, oh, she's really pretty. But on the back end, right, diplomatic, can get it, can get it done in closed rooms is extremely, extremely, what is going on? Am I crazy? I'm really, I'm waiting for you to say.
Starting point is 00:38:14 That Cocoa Jones cannot do. I got to be tripping. I got to be tripping. I'm tripping. I'm tripping. I'm tripping. I'm tripping. Because I'm not seeing what you guys are seeing.
Starting point is 00:38:26 I'm not seeing it. Like, I'm not seeing it. What are you? Hold on. Hold on for a second. I'm not seeing it. I'm seriously not seeing it. You guys are in the production room right now.
Starting point is 00:38:34 I'm like, I'm not seeing. What are you not seeing? I don't see her in Atlanta. You were basically making it seem that Coco Jones is fine. And because she's fine and she might not give off the appearance that she's with. It has to be fine. I'm not saying lay it can't be fine.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Jamie's fine. What's this? Answer me this. What sisters do look smart to you? Yeah, which black women are smart? I'm not saying she does. Which black Americans? I guarantee you think Zendaya looks smart.
Starting point is 00:38:59 Yeah, why do you think she looks smart? Because of her life-scale. No. Why she was more. She couldn't be happier for this to not be. She doesn't look smart, right? I just, I don't know what it is. I'm just like, I don't see Coco as, as Leia.
Starting point is 00:39:13 Like, I don't see it. I'm sorry. Okay. I don't, you know what I'm saying? Okay, so I got to, I think Marseille Martin and then is she's 21 years old. Right. That's not bad. She's a, she's a perfect layer.
Starting point is 00:39:25 She's a, a, a. Beautiful young starlet. Now, we don't have to go with her. We have more layers to talk about, okay? We have to go with her. She's young. Apparently, she's intelligent enough. That's not.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Wait, can I be real, though? It's not going to look crazy if, like, ASAP Rocky or Damson shooting a shirt with Martin. Can I be honest with you. We passed that bridge in the first movie. Yeah. Yeah. That's true. That's what it looked like.
Starting point is 00:39:54 That's weird. This is very weird. It's weird. We kind of, we kind of... What we just have to do, we just have to keep ASAP away from her on set. Or if it's,
Starting point is 00:40:03 is it ASAP or Yaya? Because Yaya's a great pick, too. I like, I think, I think, Yia has a bit old though. I like Damson. I like Damson.
Starting point is 00:40:10 I like Damson. I think Damson and Martin actually could be really cute. Not to say that's like... I think that's like 32 or 33. Okay, okay. Something like that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:17 So, like, Damson's 32 or so you guys got Damson for Hanson. Yeah, yeah. I like Damson. That damnson. And then who we have for later? Okay, who? Why, like Martin is because
Starting point is 00:40:26 I think her and and Miles brother and sister vibes. Are we going to have them kiss in this movie? Yes. Yeah, we have to do the same thing. Same thing. It's a shot for shot remake.
Starting point is 00:40:37 Except we might put, you know, some music videos in there. Vives for vibe rematch. I was insane the music video was going to be in this shit. Twin sons, two sons, single. Yeah, yeah, when Lou takes out his guitar and then he burns down
Starting point is 00:40:48 the death star. Nah, that's not one with the, this one of music is going to happen. Luke is going to, they're going to go into the tavern and tattooing. And Luke, when you see the music, he's going to be like, listening to Jiz, as it's called. That's what I was going to. Gis, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:05 You know, back when I would, you know, be with my friends going to get power converters, sometimes we'd stop and we jam a little bit, oh, we want to be like, really? You think Obi-Wan got the trap beefs? What, you say you can jam the forces with you, like, like it was with your father. Let's see what you got. You think,
Starting point is 00:41:24 oh, you think they let me play? Go up there and show them what you got, kid. Really? You're sure, I don't know. Your father was the best freestyle in the galaxy, man. Your father, stop. Now you're back.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Stop. Stop. Stop. He was the best. Freestyle in the galaxy. You know what that's the love to get a little freestyle in? Who? Your dad.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Your dad had verses. He's about to cry. Go up there and show him. And then we get the musical number. You know who I just thought would be a great Aunt Beeru? Don't get this. Listen, nigg. Don't get us in no fucking trouble, bro
Starting point is 00:41:57 I already got us in enough trouble You're out of here for like, yeah, nigga you're gonna be working hard till black history month That was wild Okay I don't see it I don't see it Okay, so
Starting point is 00:42:09 So we have Damson MRC Yeah All right Okay, so if we can't get Damson I just need This is why I need from you guys Okay
Starting point is 00:42:17 If we can't get Danza Let's see Danston's doing F1 2 F2 F2 Let's say he's doing that Can we at least agree to bring ASAP in for a screen test? Yeah, yeah, screen test. We could bring ASAP, we could bring Yaya.
Starting point is 00:42:32 We could bring, we can't make Yaya test for the roll. Are you fucking nuts? Like, we can't, we can't, no. My fault. We can't make Yaya test for the roll. How about this? We can make Yaya screen test, and then we'll do that to reneg on Yaya when he wants to ask for another $5 million.
Starting point is 00:42:47 If we don't cast Yaya as Han, we find something else. Yaya passed a screen testing point for this, at least. We can't make y'all y'all screen. All right, so who are we doing, Obi-Wan-Kan? This, to me, is easy. This is a Denzel Washington masterclass. Wait, Denzel's not too, he's not too, does he overshadow? He is exactly what we need.
Starting point is 00:43:09 He is like, to me, you put Denzel Washington in it as Obi-Wan. First of all, he can't overshadow because he's dead in like an hour, hour and a half or something like that. Sure. So he's out of here. But if you need someone to put, with our Luke, to shepherd. the movie through someone that the whole culture respects that's going to give all of that wisdom that can
Starting point is 00:43:29 I feel like this is a perfect role for Denzel Washington at this point in this career. It's a Denzel masterclass. You are right that like Alex Guinness did bring like a bit more of the prestige to the original because he was like a classically trained like Shakespearean actor
Starting point is 00:43:45 He brought legitimacy to the film. Yes he did. I like it. But like there's like a Is Denzel too old? And what I mean by this is like, Alan Ginn is like, part of a new hope. That motherfucker was going up against Darth Vader.
Starting point is 00:44:01 Like, pop, pop. But that's what we're doing, though. And I think it. I get it. Well, we don't got to do that. But I feel like Denzel is still physical. Think about it. Denzel wasn't too long ago.
Starting point is 00:44:10 Diesel was the equalizer. I saw Danzell moving in high so low. Is he getting up there? What's it of Gladiator 2? The fight at the end was all that was rough. Yeah. That was rough, man. But look, I'm telling you.
Starting point is 00:44:21 Okay, I want to hear some other open. I was going to go with Edress. This is where I... That's too young. This is where I want to... But the whole thing is... Obi-Wan is kind of supposed to be younger. If we're going...
Starting point is 00:44:33 If we're going to be making, like, Phantom Menace Attack of the Clones, we do kind of want an Obi-Wan that is age-appropriate. I wanted Coleman Domingo here. No. No. We are not...
Starting point is 00:44:42 He's not too fucking young. What about... I got... I had Clark Peters. That's not bad. That's not... Clark Peters is... But that's not bad,
Starting point is 00:44:50 but you guys are going way too young. I don't, I don't, for Obi for Cano. You want to know what I love. You guys are casting Canobi in the prequel. In the Clone Wars, probably. You guys,
Starting point is 00:44:59 this Canobie's got to be at least 65. Clark Peters actually is pretty good. No, no, how old is Obi-Wan canonically in a new hope? Oh, that's a good question. Because here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:45:08 You got to be 60s, 65. Gotta be. That's a, that's a rough 65. That's what I'm saying. In a new hope. But, but all I'm telling you guys,
Starting point is 00:45:18 he's chopped. He's so fucking great. And all. How about this? How old was Alec Guinness? How old was when the role started? He's got... 77.
Starting point is 00:45:29 He was born in 1920. He was 62 when he played the role in. 62. Yeah. He was born in 1914? God damn, Alan Guinness? Rest and peace, my nigger, shit. This nigga saw some shit. This niggas saw Alec Guinness.
Starting point is 00:45:46 Aller Guinness was born basically right before or during... Right before World War I. Alex was born before the... No, he wasn't because I attended with 1912 myself. Boy, bro, Alan Guinness saw... You saw a lot. Little Alec went through some shit. Think about what...
Starting point is 00:46:00 Alex Guinness. You're trying to talk some shit to Alec Guinness, 1975, 1976, something. He's seen it all. All right. All right. I was in World War I and World War II. I was in...
Starting point is 00:46:09 Lawrence of a Rade. Yeah, I was in movies that they made about these... Dr. Chivago. Yeah, like, get the fuck out of... Get off my shit, you little bitch. Like, go get my fucking coffee. You want to know what?
Starting point is 00:46:20 I like Denzel because also he asked the gravitas when we get the Force Ghost coming back. Every single time you see Denzel, you like... I feel like the generation of actors we're looking at for the Obi-Wan character is Denzel, Clark Peters, Dennis Hayesburg, Morgan Freeman. Sure. Morgan Freeman might be a little too old. Like, I have for something else. Like, this is the generation of actors. The generation of actors that we're looking to.
Starting point is 00:46:45 There's got to be a couple of guys that we could be and might be forgetting. Forrest Whitaker? Forrest Whitaker, even though, like, he's... has. He's our song. I can imagine Danzel is a young Obi-Wan now that I'm thinking. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Yeah, Denzel. Okay, yeah, maybe we're overthinking it. Because, again, he is the easy
Starting point is 00:47:00 pick, but he also is kind of the pick. The whole thing with Dezell is we cast him all the time. I mean, why were you going to not cast him? He's Denzel Washington. I know when he's the old black guy. He's like the first guy you call, which I wanted to be a little more creative, but to your point, he's kind of the only guy who makes the most sense. Yeah, he's like a, it's like a, he's
Starting point is 00:47:17 actually at the Obi-Wan point of his career. In his career. Yeah. And when he's talking to Miles, it's going to be a pass-in of the torch moment. Yeah, there's a lot of young hot shots in this cast, and he's like kind of the, yeah, no, yeah, yeah. Okay, so then Charles? All right, so who do we have next? Do we want to do Vader?
Starting point is 00:47:35 Yeah, Vader's voice. Okay, so this being the thing that, like, Vader voiced by a black man. It's got to be white. Got to be a white voice. Got to be a white voice now. Okay. I have an idea. Right.
Starting point is 00:47:47 In the back, can you play the clip. that I sent you. I see why my sons fell to you. Even this lesser version of you. But I am not my sons. And your boy, all father have plans for him. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:48:18 Great stuff. That's Ryan Hurst. And he was, that's God of War. He played Thorne Got a War. I think, I think that's where you got to go. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:48:26 I like it. I think that's where you got to go. I have a different one. Leif Schreiber is good. Leif Schreiber is the white Morgan Freeman. Wow. When you need a, so when you need a voice. I'm there, I'm there.
Starting point is 00:48:42 Like when you need a voice and you need somebody to voice some shit, when that voice is black, you'll get Morgan Freeman. That's like the voice of God. But when you go on white, when you need that VV, that vanilla voice, it's Leif Schreiber. Lee of Schreiber brings a little different something to Vader Because think about it I'm going to have more flavor a little bit
Starting point is 00:49:00 A little bit less to do It could be Leah Schreiber is all I'm saying Chuck who you got I was thinking Jeremy Irons Oh okay You know That's very good That's a good one
Starting point is 00:49:13 Because he also brings the Britishness to it That you know Vader a little bit This is a tough one Steve I had J.K. Simmons Not bad Not bad either
Starting point is 00:49:23 Whiplash the fuck out you dumb ass bitch. I'm forgetting my brain is switch his, Thanos was also Josh Broly. In terms of voice. There's a lot of good picks here.
Starting point is 00:49:35 There's a lot of good picks. There's a lot of good picks. There's a lot of good picks. There's a lot of good picks. For our white voice, are we trying to get a white voice that brings the same gravitas as James Earl Jones or we want something a little
Starting point is 00:49:47 bit different? I don't think you can do it different. I don't think you do it different. You need somebody who's going to like, the second they show up on screen, you'd be like, oh, this is why this guy's in charge. Not because he's out there using the way of favor. It's the voice.
Starting point is 00:49:59 I might rescind my J.K. Simmons pick because we love his voice and he's used in a lot of great things, but the second we hear it, you're like, oh man, J.K. Simmons is killing it. And I don't think that he can immerse himself in Garfield around here. Is the Kofi still here at the Kofi I brought? Let me tell you guys my thoughts about this
Starting point is 00:50:15 Vader choice. Okay. Can I get pro black for a second? Oh, just now? For the first time? Yeah, I never really get into race. I don't do that here at the ring. Let me tell you something about my choice for Vader. I want you all to think about the Anakin to Vader thing and think about one of the messages that was created, right?
Starting point is 00:50:37 You have Anakin Skywalker, Anakin, the chosen one, the one who's going to change everything, the selfless, powerful, handsome Jedi, white man, white voice. Goes everywhere, does white things. oh my god everything i save you i do all of this stuff all of this stuff chosen one sublimely talented little kid gets his self out of slavery right gets his self out of slavery gets credit for that credit for getting himself out of slavery right all of that when he goes bad and turns into Darth Vader what do they give him then a black man they get the blackest voice they could
Starting point is 00:51:24 get, follow me, follow me. Okay, and they give it to him because now he is black. He is it all black. His voice is black. Everything that he's doing is black. Okay? He is now evil. He is now selfish.
Starting point is 00:51:41 He now don't take care of his kids. George Lucas, we're asking for it. He's black. So you know what we're going to do? We're going to take this motherfucker who was black and all of those good things. and when he goes bad, we're making them white. And we're going to give him the whitest voice that there is. White, white, G. Gali Willekers.
Starting point is 00:52:02 I killed the Galaxy Vader is what I want. So who is the whitest voice of all of these people? We flipping your racism and we see you. Okay. We see you. Quick question on this philosophy. Is all of the empire still white? Don't confuse me.
Starting point is 00:52:19 I was on my shit. So when you said that, I have, one more choice. He does maybe not the gravitas, but when I think of when I want a racist man in a role. Oh, oh, oh. He's not racist. I love this actor, but like,
Starting point is 00:52:37 he's played some, some true devils. Walton Goggins. Oh, he, that's it. Wait, oh, okay, I thought you were thinking of Clancy Brown. No, no. No. Longer. Wongham. Hockens is great.
Starting point is 00:52:50 Wong Gockens, Vader. I love it. I love it. Y'all not get, see. What are you doing? People are going to, they're just going to see the graphic and be like, Wong Gagins, I don't see it. But the way you spit it right there, that's what I thought of it.
Starting point is 00:53:03 I was like, who is like, when he showed up and justified, I'm like, damn, you racist, but I love him. Did Wong Gagin's character in hateful eight racist? He was, but then he was. Yeah, he was. But then at the end, he kind of wasn't. Kind of? Well, he ended up being friends with, oh, we.
Starting point is 00:53:20 I mean, but that was like a survival situation. He wanted a good ones type vibe, you know what I'm so. That's true. All right. So we're going walking Goggins? Walking Goggins. All right. Next is Yoda.
Starting point is 00:53:28 You guys, just vibe with me for a second. I want to hear this. My problem with Yoda is niggas not going to listen to a puppet that's, right, right, right. Who's a leader in our community? Barack Obama. How to bring brothers together, I think I have to go with the Riza. What the fucking are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:53:53 Yes, the Rizza, Yoda. Bro, the niggas from Wu-Tang hate Rizzo. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. First of all, first of all, let me say this, let me say this, let me say this. The minute, okay, first of all, first of all, let me say this. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, because we all, we all mics and we talk.
Starting point is 00:54:17 First of all, the niggas from the Wutang do not hate Rizzen. I mean, you did just say that they hate them. I am not in the Wutane clan. That was huge. is that I watched the Wu-Claim the Wutane documentary. Now we both in trouble. And it seemed as if
Starting point is 00:54:30 that Rizzo would say shit every now and again and the rest of the niggas would be like, man, shut up, nigga. And it was just funny. They're all brothers and I'm not trying to so discord
Starting point is 00:54:39 between the Rue Kuhn. And what was it doing that to Yoda? Kind of. A little bit. The Rizzo has Yota kind of, I kind of could see it. I can see it.
Starting point is 00:54:47 By question being, Eddie Murphy. Yeah, that's what I'm that he didn't have it on there. And he's funny. Eddie could do voices. I had Eddie Murphy as Yonnie Murphy.
Starting point is 00:54:57 You're going to be great. Shrek? Yeah. Maybe he could do the donkey voice and that could be yellow. Let's be for it. Oh. That's actually not bad. I was thinking we needed a voice.
Starting point is 00:55:06 I went with Morgan. Right. I just think like, you know, if we're going to do a little black little green puppy. Morgan Freeman? Yeah, but I'm trying to flip it. No, no, no. See, I'm trying to flip it because think about it.
Starting point is 00:55:17 We want, like, in Yoda in the original, he's an outcast, right? He's somebody who we see is like weird and like kind of nuts and like, what is you doing? But I think there's a level of gravitas we can give Yoda in this new version Somebody that like we can respect off the rip And I think the only way to do that is to give him the voice of Morgan
Starting point is 00:55:35 See that's the thing when we meet Yoda he is not that he is not respectable So we're not making Yoda talk like Yoda talks anymore No he's got to talk like I was gonna say like I mean you can't have Morgan do that Yeah if they have some we go do we can do he could be doing instead of like talking in riddles and shit Oh my god If you think about it Like that. Speaking 16, 16 bars at a time.
Starting point is 00:55:58 Boy, I tell y'all what, man. We right on the cusp. Are you, wait. So wait, are we casting Kermis Yoda? Did you? Kermis Yoda. Kermis Yoda. Kermis Yoda.
Starting point is 00:56:07 Kermis Yoda. Oh, that's it. Jonathan Kermis Yoda is Yoda. Jonathan Kermis Yoda. If you guys don't know who Kerm is, I don't know how you will be listening to this podcast and not know our brother Kerm, but Yoda now speaks in 6.
Starting point is 00:56:23 is Jonathan Kerma is Yoda is perfect. So wait. You might be able to play him in live action as well. My main question for Yoda is like, does the puppet change? It's a black puppet? I don't know. Now, he can stay green. Okay.
Starting point is 00:56:37 John, the Kermas Yodagh. Now, Steve, what do you think, Yoda was looking like? I don't know what he was looking like. No, no, no, no, I didn't have a head. No, no. You had an idea. He's next. We want to know.
Starting point is 00:56:49 Well, the way Van was talking, it's like, is John Vader dressed in all white instead of all black now? No, no, no, no. No, no. State, that's the same shit. Okay. Steve. Then that's fine. That's my question.
Starting point is 00:56:59 Mm. The empire question is interested in. Should the empire be all black? They should be Nigerian. Yeah. They should be Nigerian. See that? See that?
Starting point is 00:57:09 All Nigerian Empire. Let's go. No, no, no. All Nigeria empire. All Nigeria empire. You're right. You're right. You know what?
Starting point is 00:57:17 You know what? You know what? My bad. All Nigerian empire. That's true. No, no. We're not going to do that. We're not doing that.
Starting point is 00:57:24 We're not trying to do it. They're selling slaves. We can go outside right now. They sell in slaves. I got to stand up for my people. Without doing that. We can stop the ball right now. Today at the Death Star cafeteria, Joe off ice.
Starting point is 00:57:39 All right. Nah, see. No, no, no, no. I can only go so far. I can only go so far. I need apologies. Everybody is my bad. I'm bad.
Starting point is 00:57:50 I'm sorry. That's my bad. I need apology. They watching soccer. They watching soccer. Super Eagles. Chill out. Chill out.
Starting point is 00:57:59 Chill out. There will be. Chill out. No cullings today as the Super Eagles have a game. Chill out. Oh, man. What is the Death Star looks at? Y'all don't want me to start.
Starting point is 00:58:10 Y'all don't want me to start? What's a Death Star Legos? Star Legos? Hey, man. Hey, man. Hey, man. Hey, man, listen. That Star Legos.
Starting point is 00:58:18 I got a, hey, man, I got a lie. I got a lie. You got to stop. You gotta stop. Chill out on my, my nine-jad brothers and sisters. Come on. Come on. I'm with it.
Starting point is 00:58:29 They're not going to be. They're not going to be. God. Jonathan Kerma is going. Got three more. You know what? They'll, you know what? They'll be black Republicans.
Starting point is 00:58:38 That's what the empire. Black Republicans. We have Tim Scott in that booth. It's okay. Tim Scott is grandma talking. Wait, could we have a cameo from Kanye? Oh, my God. Kanye.
Starting point is 00:58:52 being that bitch. Don't honestly. Kanye is the emperor? He's not, nah, Kanye had the emperor is good. Wait,
Starting point is 00:58:58 who would be the emperor? I had Jeffrey Wright. I had Jeffrey Wright. I had Jeffrey Wright too. Hell yeah. Until I had Jeffrey right as an emperor until I thought about
Starting point is 00:59:07 one other name. Literally, that was my first pick. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Who's your other name? Delroy Lindo. I had,
Starting point is 00:59:16 that would be good. He was definitely in the mix. He was in the mix. He was in the mix. Pittsburgh was going to be my, like, third or second. That's a great one.
Starting point is 00:59:22 I had Jeffrey Wright and then I erase and I put Deeroy Linda. What do you guys think? Which one? I think I like Jeffrey Wright because I can envision him doing the Palpatine. Like if we were... Fielio, like, yeah. Like, he can do the politician type shit.
Starting point is 00:59:37 When we think about the prequels, he could absolutely be that guy, like just going through the Senate like that. All right. So who's the voice to see 3PO then? I had Coleman Domingo. Because, like, you see that, like, obviously he's mad talented. Right.
Starting point is 00:59:56 Looking at the trailers for Running, man, which I'm excited to see, by the way. Yeah. And I'm like, that's a guy who can, like, really, like, perform and, like, really show out. And the thing about C3PO is, while he's kind of, like, a lame ass, he just, he just like somebody, like, Anthony Daniels is consistently, like, just always expressive, despite the fact it's a robot. And I think Coleman kind of is in the same vein. as a can i pitch y'all on this if we open up the han solo again if asap rocky really blows this away why couldn't we get tyler the creator at c3 pia so he's not a like um um um um um um um um um um um um um it's really tough to hire him right now you got some bad tweets that came up so we
Starting point is 01:00:37 let's have the Tyler creator let's come on this shit since he was 15 so i'm with you i am with you i like kind of um kind of there's so a lot of the stuff i had seen but there was some stuff that I had seen. And I was like, ah, even in like 2011. Okay. So this is what I'll say about the Tyler Creator thing. We say real quick, I said on hire a learn already. Tyler Creator and all of his friends were for a long time playing an anti-establishment,
Starting point is 01:01:04 anti-everything group of young kids. Right. And when it was out back then, now I'm not going to lie, I hadn't seen all of these tweets. Exactly. I hadn't. There was some tweets. I'm like, God damn. But the tweets were meant to incite you.
Starting point is 01:01:15 They were meant to do all of that stuff, right? I understood what our future was going for then and I understand what our future was going for now. Right. As a man, does it make sense that Tyler Creator would have to come out and be like, hey, just to let you know, this shit is fucked up and I shouldn't have done it. That's one thing.
Starting point is 01:01:36 Now, I will say this, though. Since then, I do know people in this industry who were directly affected by Tyler Creator being an asshole to them at that time. And these people have, I've talked to them, and they've told me about the fact that not all of this, I hate everything, I want to hurt people and all of that stuff was strictly performance art. There was some of it where they actually were kind of doing it.
Starting point is 01:02:04 Having said that, I love Tyler the Creator, his evolution, his music, and all of that stuff. I get what the all future thing was, but I also don't want to be disrespectful to the fact that it actually did fuck with some people and stuff like that. So that's what it is. If it was something to hire Tyler Creator for for us, which we're doing a fictitious movie situation, I would have no problem doing it
Starting point is 01:02:26 because I get it, but I get why people are pissed off too. So it is what it is. Well, my real name, my man from Scrubs, Donald Faison. Oh, fun. Shouldn't we hire the first genteel black Englishmen that we can? Shouldn't we get like a funny black English? But here's a, my son.
Starting point is 01:02:44 The thing is... The answer is Richard... What's his name? Richard... The guy... He did... Or Richard Iowade? Richard Iowade, but he's done
Starting point is 01:02:53 in Star Wars Joy before. Yeah, he has. That would be the answer. Well, I was wondering, is our C3PO still British? He could be. It could be. But black British.
Starting point is 01:03:04 Black British? He could have... He could be Jamaican. He could be Jamaican. That's better. Oh, we need a... Oh, man. RC3PO is Jamaican.
Starting point is 01:03:14 Jamaican actors Popca You know what Hey how about this This guy is one of the biggest guys In the whole fucking world right now C3PO Is Vibes Cartel
Starting point is 01:03:27 There you go Let's do it C3PO is Vibs Vibes Cartel is To C3PO And I give C3PO a little edge Yeah Because you know what I'm saying
Starting point is 01:03:36 Wow And everybody coming out To fuck with Vibes right Does he have a soundboard on? Yeah The whole thing C3PO is Vibes Cartel That's RC3PO.
Starting point is 01:03:45 All right. Now last, we saved the last, but not least. I'm going to let Steve go first on this one. Lando Calarizian. Right. Where do you want to go, Steve? It's really, it's kind of impossible to encapsulate the essence of Lando Calrissian. I had one of two picks here.
Starting point is 01:04:07 My first one is Glenn Powell. Not bad. Because like you have the, like, you have the, like, you have the, you have the people that have gone through the whole like Marvel sphere. I have one of the Chris's. Yeah. I also have one of the Chris. My problem with my problem with Glenn, I think Glenn is phenomenal.
Starting point is 01:04:24 Sure. I don't know if I buy him at like he. And that's fine. That's entirely fun. As a duplicitous. But also like he has that kind of like, shmarmie, like, oh, I could talk my way out of that. I don't know if Glenn really has that.
Starting point is 01:04:38 Two possible counters here. He's been out of the game for a minute, but he's one of my favorites. Joseph Gordon Levitt. No. Okay. Josh O'Connor. Challenger's, wake up dead man. I love Josh O'Connor, I think, can really, really, he can kind of do anything, but would Josh O'Connor do it?
Starting point is 01:04:59 I think he would. Yeah, we handed out paychecks in this motherfucker. Yeah. Can I pitch you all on, I think he's the biggest freaking Hollywood, like, and Army Hammer? I was trying to say Army Hammer. But he plays it very well. I was going to say, why don't we do Alexander Scars Guard? Oh, not bad.
Starting point is 01:05:18 Oh, Bill. Not bad now. I'll tell you something now. You know, you're putting him in a situation where he's going to, he's pretty overwhelming now, right? It's like an overwhelming situation. I mean, you're right. That's a, it's a great pick.
Starting point is 01:05:33 But you wouldn't want to see D. Thompson and Alexander kind of like. Oh, man. I'm not saying, I'm just saying, you know, like you, Billy D. Williams is pretty overwhelming, too. Yeah. You can overwhelm. Okay.
Starting point is 01:05:43 What are you? Who's, who's, who's, you? have. I had a, now I think about it might be too old, but I had Chris Pine. I had Chris Pine too. Chris Pine. Oh, look. That was the one of first I didn't say. I had Chris Pine. Seems like a slam dunk to me. Come in there and you know what?
Starting point is 01:05:57 And something else about Chris Pine. Chris Pine can operate as a low usage asset to a show. Yeah. I really like Chris Pine also because he's just charming enough, but the minute he turns on everyone, I would believe
Starting point is 01:06:16 him. I'm just like, yeah, that's some shit. But it's Chris Pine dressed now with like the long hair, disheveled. He might be a little too, he might be a little too wash for that. Though like, just like, because you got the grain and stuff. No, but I think it's perfect now. Really? No, I think it's perfect for him now. He's still a great looking guy.
Starting point is 01:06:31 Yeah. But at the same time, he's the kind of guy that Leah can continuously sort of rebuff to still go with Han. So the Billy D. Williams that was as, that they had playing Lando Calrissian is still Billy D.
Starting point is 01:06:49 Don't get me wrong. Sure. But a young Billy D is stealing Han Solo's bitch. Okay. So a young, a super young Billy D. He wasn't an old Billy D. Right. I think Chris Pine is in that same Billy D.
Starting point is 01:07:04 D situation where he could be that. I'm with Chris Pied. I'm with Chris Pied. All right. Do you have all the names we have? One second. Everybody but Leah. Who was Leia again? Marseille.
Starting point is 01:07:14 Marseille Martin? Do you guys want to revisit Leia before we go there? Is there any other names? I didn't know if that was the consensus or not. Here's all. I know we didn't want to go light skin, but Chase Affinity is actually... Oh, my God. Chase Affinity would be...
Starting point is 01:07:27 They have to be twins, though. Like, I'm not... I need that... Guys, I'm sorry. Can't do it? Chase is great. She's great. I need a dark skin, Leah, man.
Starting point is 01:07:37 Gotta have it. Yeah. That's not a bad shot, though. That's not a bad shot, though. That's not a good. It's not a good. I'm not a good. I'm with you.
Starting point is 01:07:42 It would be great. As a matter of fact, when I was looking at this, but be honest with you, Hollywood, man, put these young sisters, put these young dark-skinned sisters in these roles, man. I'm looking at this. I'm looking at the, I'm looking at all of the up-and-coming young black actresses
Starting point is 01:07:58 out here, and it's a biracial convention, man. I just got to be all. It's crazy, bro. It's like, I'm not in any, a man, shout out to everybody.
Starting point is 01:08:11 we all the same put some of these young, darker-skinned American actresses in these roles, man. I'm not even saying young, because there were some darker-skinned actresses I was looking at, and I was looking at, like, what's the last thing they've been? I'm like, damn, give my sister some work, Shlai.
Starting point is 01:08:28 I'm not in any, hey, we together and all of that. And I know I joke sometimes, but literally, it's one, having said that, There's one. With some of these young, darker skin, for my up-and-coming sisters out here, I'm seeing a lot of versions of the same fucking actress. I'm just being for real.
Starting point is 01:08:48 They're going to be mad that I brought her up because they'd be giving her every single role. But I-O-O's dope. I-O, you know what I'm saying? Aslea? Yeah. That could work. That could work.
Starting point is 01:08:59 But I feel, I like Marseye, because it's just like, I-O began everything. I think we should revisit Coco Jones. I think that she's a talented Yes It's a little way game for you now, show me I think Marseille's good I think Marseille is going to kill it as our
Starting point is 01:09:19 Princess Leia Right I think she's going to kill it as our Princess Leia All right Now we're going to have some problems with the third movie Because We're going to have to see All growed it up
Starting point is 01:09:30 And we'll see how the audience response to that Sometimes, you know, like my mama might look at that and be like Why they put her in that we got to put her in it. All right. But the reality is, but we can do her own thing.
Starting point is 01:09:41 We can be chasteful. Wait, oh yeah. Now I think about it. I'm not trying to see. I know her from Disney Channel. I'm not trying to see that. I'm just saying, bro, got to grow up, man.
Starting point is 01:09:52 It's true. Who's our heart again? Damson. Wait, how old is Martin now? She's 21. Yeah. All right, so by the time that movie comes out, she'll be like 27, 20, 27.
Starting point is 01:10:03 Yeah, that's fine. That's fine. That's fine. We could. Plus, this is a lamp. This is some make-believe shit. Let go. Let go all your hangings.
Starting point is 01:10:12 A long time ago. All right. In the galaxy far, far away. Far away with no niggas in that. But we sure we don't want ice spices, Slay? That is a very good point. That's Steve. I mean, I'm sure.
Starting point is 01:10:30 Shout out to Ice Spice. Yeah. Oh, why ice spice can't be laid? Nah, she can't. A's that Rocky? You know what we should do what's up? We should do a recast, but it's just musicians. It's just a musician's only, that is funny.
Starting point is 01:10:48 Also, Ice Spice is an actress. She was also in High Stelows. She sure was. She was. Who else was in High School? Who was the lady at the end of High Slows that was singing? She's a beautiful voice. She's a beautiful voice.
Starting point is 01:10:58 I couldn't tell you. And she was gorgeous voice. She sounded really good. I will say Spike did have a lot of light skin queens of that movie. Shut up, Spike. We all get out of here I want people We all together
Starting point is 01:11:12 All right We together Are we together Because y'all You know what I'm saying That was a second day It looked shaky man We're gonna get that agenda off
Starting point is 01:11:22 Come on The we is black America The diaspora We're together We all together Even in the galaxy far far away Think what we got We got black
Starting point is 01:11:34 British people in this bitch We got you know, Jamaican. We got the diaspora in this, motherfucker. Luke Skywalker, we have Miles Caton, Hans Solo, Damson Idris,
Starting point is 01:11:45 Le Organa, Marseille Martin, Obi-Wan is Denza Washington, Darth Vader's voice is Walton Gagins, Yoda is Jonathan Cooper. Landau Calarizian is Chris Bond, the emperor is Jeffrey Wright, C3PO,
Starting point is 01:11:57 is vibes cartel. I'm feeling pretty good about this. I think we go into the chip. Yeah, man. Wait, are we ever going to do are we ever going to do the prequel, though? We will do the prequins. Wait.
Starting point is 01:12:09 All right. I know he really don't do much. You know who we forgot? I can't. We forgot Boba Fett real quick. So it's a voice. Okay, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. If you're casting Boba Fitt, that means you cast.
Starting point is 01:12:22 He's no good to meet dead. The clones. Yes. Right. That's what I'm saying. So this is, so every single clone is this guy and every single. Yes. This is our last bit.
Starting point is 01:12:33 He's no good to me dead. So we're basically casting James. go fed at this one. Okay. Who could you see as the clones where it's like we're going to have the Clone War series so he's going to be animated? It's like you need someone that we would love to seek. Not not see but here. Here.
Starting point is 01:12:50 Here. But then we're going to see it. Yeah, yeah. Ah, this is tough. Blaine the Rock Johnson. No. I actually like, I'm joking, but I like the Rock is. But a thin version.
Starting point is 01:13:08 Yeah. Yeah, I think a thing, yeah, because you can't have. Walking tall. Yeah, you can't have. Two hundred and eighty pounds. No. So I'm saying a rock at, when a rock would get down to like two, temporary.
Starting point is 01:13:18 But even like, who are our action stars right now where we could see like? Vin Diesel? I'm not trying to hear. You can't do. Vin Diesel. That's our guy. All this. Aldous Hodge.
Starting point is 01:13:30 All this Hodge would be a good. Aldous Hodge could be. Like, see, Boba Fett is no good to me, Dad. That's a lot of work for Alder's Hodge. We get Altershaz to back for years. Yeah. You know, he deserves it. We haven't cast him in this.
Starting point is 01:13:44 He could have easily been Hans Solo. He, you know, we... What about, what about Anthony? Anthony Mackey. As Boba Fett? Yeah. That could work too. Anthony Mackey can't be Boba Fett.
Starting point is 01:13:55 You hate me. I'm not hate. He just can't be Boba Fett. I like Aldous Hage. I like Aldous Hage is our Boba Fett. Hell yeah. All right, that's it. Also, we forgot to say we're doing this because Star Wars of Vision
Starting point is 01:14:07 is stuff. Oh, Star Wars Visions is out. You guys can go watch it. Yeah. That's why we're doing this. Did you like it? I thought it was good. All right, man.
Starting point is 01:14:16 What's a good short that you liked? I mean, look, here's my thing about Star Wars Visions is Star Wars Visions is appetizer's Star Wars. Yep. So the bar, to me, is not super duper high. Right. It's not super duper high. Like when I watch them, I watch them all in one thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:34 I really cannot that much sometimes tell the difference. that much between everything that's going on. The first visions knocked my socks off. Yeah. Wait, with the Sith, with the dude hunt down the Sith? Yeah, the first one just, it fried my brain what they were able to do. Since then, I've kind of fallen into the lure of it, and like, I knock them off, like, one after a one after one after one after one after one. There was pluck, though. There was, it was cute.
Starting point is 01:15:05 The first one at least, I was like, the first one was kind of... It doesn't seem as ambitious as it used to be. No, the first season was super ambitious. Yeah. But I think now I'm wondering, why haven't we gotten a movie that is like a Sith forward movie? Like, that's what the first short did for me, where I'm just like, why don't we have like a Sith bounty hunter, someone who's running a...
Starting point is 01:15:25 Like, that's the movie I actually want to see. Like, to me, the thing of visions is like, let's stretch the, like, imagination of what Star Wars can be into the most, like, abstract, wild, crazy thing that you can think of. And I think with season three, it was kind of like, okay, let's capitalize on what the coolest parts of all the things that we saw in those last two seasons and all their shorts were. I'm like, no, I want, like,
Starting point is 01:15:46 the wild, like, French, like, espionage thriller that they had in season two. I want that samurai duel that they had in one, which was a continuation in the first one. Yeah, I like seeing the duel. I like seeing some of, like, the returning stuff for the Night's Jedi. I like saying F again. But I want you to, like, absolutely, go nuts. I feel...
Starting point is 01:16:07 I just want one of these things to, like, take off for real and get, like, we got Disney Plus, man, might as well. Drop a 90-minute anime movie about the duel or something like that. Like, just something that's irreverent. It'll be a trillion dollars.
Starting point is 01:16:20 I mean, actually, now that Chainsaw Man beat the shit out of Bruce Springsteen, Disney might be like, hey, yo, we need that. We need that. We need that shit. Come on. Like on a movie. Debrose Springsteen movie.
Starting point is 01:16:31 I'll say it again. That Bruce Springsteen movie. fucking sucks wait did you see it they got the bear looking crazy no no no no daddy we know likey we know we know likey soulless paint by numbers
Starting point is 01:16:48 biopic that has Bruce Brinks he's got to think about his whole Is this bad in the vein like a walk hard Yeah is it like is it everything The walk hard is just like yeah It's just pretty uninspired Do we do we need to start having to talk about the bear cast Because they'd be putting them
Starting point is 01:17:02 Some of the movies they've been in have been been. They're going for it. I mean, like, I ask my girl, but like, I want to, like, she was great in bottoms, right? Like, I thought she, they got that Rachel Senate show
Starting point is 01:17:16 coming out. I don't think Rachel all that funny. I think she carried Rachel in that movie. But, like, oh, we gave some Rachel Senate hate over here? Oh, yeah, absolutely. We got to wrap up. I don't know who that is. You don't know who Rachel said it is? You've seen Rachel's Senate. You've seen Rachel Senate. Who is, what? Have you seen Bottles? See, you've seen Bottoms.
Starting point is 01:17:31 I saw a little bit of it. I didn't watch the She was white. She was white. Shiva baby. She was good at Shiva baby. Great and Shiva baby. I'm not saying she's got no talent. But I think I think I know is clear.
Starting point is 01:17:40 They say Rachel, Rachel Sinha is reheating our girls nachos. He said, yeah, bro. I mean, like, oh, does she have the L.A. show? Yeah. Oh, I heard about this. I'm not really. Midnight police. Rachel said his show.
Starting point is 01:17:55 Reviewing. I love L.A. I'm going to watch it. We don't see what it looks like, but I think, I think I, we got to shoot eyes about. I think she's really talented, and so she's got, there's a lot of game left for her. We need to find the right thing for her is what we need. She's very talented.
Starting point is 01:18:10 They're all very talented. Just keep making the movies, man. Keep making the movies. Keep giving. Real quick. Younger, dark-skinned. Darker-skinned. Brown-skinned.
Starting point is 01:18:23 They just can't all be the same. All right. Stop doing. Shout out of I, Nigerian. Real quick before we get out of here. Okay. People got really mad that Disney rejected a Ben Solo movie. people were really upset.
Starting point is 01:18:35 They're online. They're going, make Ben Solo happen, make the hunt for Ben Solo happen. How do you guys feel? What's the premise of the movie? Does everybody know what the pitch was? Written by Sotomberg.
Starting point is 01:18:47 What's the pitch of the film? I don't think it's been revealed what the actual story was movie. So how the fuck you know you want it then? See what I'm saying? Well. What do you mean? Well,
Starting point is 01:18:57 if I'm going to be real, if they're just like, hey, we got a Kylo Red movie that Adam Driver really, really wants to do. Soderberg has written it. It's finished. The script is finished versus whatever the Mandalorian and Grogu is.
Starting point is 01:19:09 I would always choose the Kylo Redd. It's so odd though. You would choose the Kylo Red movie? No, because I would have to know what the actual story was and what the movie is. Because if this is a story, does somehow Kylo survived? I don't care. That could be the name of the film. But even that, though, that limits the scope of what you could do.
Starting point is 01:19:30 Like if I When you I'm not the person You guys know this I'm not the person That goes This person's involved This person's involved
Starting point is 01:19:39 This person involved Let's go Like it Mandolorean and Grogo Might be more Toy selling bullshit Right And this movie might not actually
Starting point is 01:19:49 Have a story to tell But so I don't know What it is Right The project would have taken This from IGN The project would have taken place During the Ratt Skywalker
Starting point is 01:19:57 Following the Rats Skywalker And set it on Adam Driver's character Kylo Wren, who's actually Ben Solo and his quest for redemption. So he didn't die. So he didn't die. I don't care. At this point, Star Wars is awesome bullshit.
Starting point is 01:20:10 They bring him all fucks back. They change it all up to history and shit. We're probably never getting a Vader movie. If the Kylo Ren movie is the closest we going to get, I would rather see a Kylo Red movie. I just do it. Hey, man, I'm going to be completely honest. And this time we talked about on our, I think, our last minute edition podcast,
Starting point is 01:20:27 people in one breath will, like, reject a movie or a movie. premise or an idea. And then the next breath go, hey man, where do we make these movies at? Where are these movies at? We hated the rights of Skywalker. Hated it. And by the way, you guys weren't in love with Kylo Ren? Like,
Starting point is 01:20:43 you guys... People like Kylo Ren. People like... No, no, no, no. I don't think Kylo Ren was the worst part of the whole thing. People liked Kylo Ren. I'm not saying they didn't. But Kylo Ren in Rise of Skywalker sucks? Everything Everything arrives at us.
Starting point is 01:21:01 But that's the point, though. That's what I'm getting at. But I'll ask this. Adam Driver, one of the biggest movie stars on the planet. No, he's that. Oh. Adam Driver? I mean, maybe not box.
Starting point is 01:21:14 One of the biggest movie stars on the planet? He's top 10 in terms of just like new actors. It's like Timmy. It's Led Powell. Adam Driver was just in a movie that was all his, like last year to year before. And that fucking shit bono. Got it like the 65. The Ferrari movie?
Starting point is 01:21:29 Like, it's, I don't like Adam Driver. We like Adam Driver, and he is a big actor. But I don't, like not A-Lister saying? One of the biggest movie stars on the planet? Nah. For me, it feels like, I could be wrong. For me, it just feels like, again, my bad. Like, I apologize.
Starting point is 01:21:47 Take your voice, for example, unless you just fired Brian Kelly. Because Brian Kelly sucks. Imagine if they were like, hey, we're going to bring somebody, like, we're going to, the next guy we're bringing in is kind of Brian Kelly Jason. I'm like, no, we don't want it. that. We're not trying to, like, all that is dead. That's over. So let me ask you all this, because now that I
Starting point is 01:22:05 brought up now, do you think you can make a Vader movie work? Yeah. Yeah. How? I mean, they got the re-speecher for James Roosevelt. No, but you never, we're probably never going to see behind the mass. So it's just like... So this is why you can make a Vader movie work
Starting point is 01:22:23 because the lore is there already to me. Now, let me clarify what I'm saying. Is Kylo Rinn cool enough of a character to probably flesh them out and make a good movie when you have item driver and Steven Sotomayr? Yeah, probably. Probably. The fact that people want it so bad, I think has to do, or they act like they want it so bad, I think has to do with a lot of things. I think it's a rejection of Daisy Ritler's character and of what Star Wars wants to do more than anything else. And that has to do with a lot of shit, right? I'm not saying that all of that shit is unfair. Some of it is, but I'm not saying it's all unfair. I get it. People
Starting point is 01:22:58 thought Kylo Ren was kind of cool. I actually found him to be a little bit annoying after a while. A little emo, yeah. I get it. Vader is different, though. You could take Vader, like,
Starting point is 01:23:09 just give you guys something. Vader, Anakin Skywalker, becomes Darth Vader. He is tasked by the emperor to go and bleed a khyber crystal to make his lightsaber. Right?
Starting point is 01:23:27 Vader doesn't have a lightsaber. So Vader has to then go to the Jedi temple and he has to look through the archive of the Jedi temple to see which Jedi are still alive, right? And because there's been the purge. So there's not a lot of Khyber laying around and not a lot of Jedi laying around to take Khyber from. He has to look at all the Jedi that have taken the bearish file, people that would have been disconnected from the order way before this. He has to choose one and then go take their lightsaber. He goes to take the lightsaber. He finds a Jedi whose only purpose in the Jedi order was combat.
Starting point is 01:24:08 That's all he did was fight, right? Vader has to fight his way up a mountain to fight this guy and take his his his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, he gets pushed into the thing. He actually loses. It's all fucked up, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. This entire time he's having nightmares. he's having nightmares as if he is Anakin Skywalker and the light is still pulling at him he's having nightmares he's having nightmares of Padmay
Starting point is 01:24:37 he's having nightmares of the emperor this entire time he is like fighting for his deal he ends up this is in all the comic book you guys should read these he ends up fighting this guy again and while they're fighting Vader is on the backside again except for the fact that he breaks this fucking tank drowns a whole planet and when this Jedi guy is
Starting point is 01:24:59 trying to save these people Bader kills him, takes his saber, bleeds the crystal. And even after he bleeds the crystal, right? Well, he doesn't bleed it right away. He takes the crystal to Musafar, to bleed it and all of that stuff like that. And even after he's doing all of that, he has an entire dream sequence where he
Starting point is 01:25:15 imagines himself killing the empire and going to, killing the emperor, and going to apologize to Obi-Wan and all of that. That part of Star Wars is just, fuck amazing. All of the lore that was around Vader, the push pool between
Starting point is 01:25:31 him and the light. We just have never explained it except or talked about it. Like so many stories. But is Hayden featured heavily in this movie, though? He would have to. Probably. So, so in like the dream sequences when it's not right. So it's basically Hayden
Starting point is 01:25:45 it's, uh, is Ewan McGregor, it's all at them. Or you can make up some new shit. Like soft touch. Or you could go to legends or whatever. Like, but what I'm saying is, there is so much story there that you could take and still make... By the way, you could make this
Starting point is 01:26:01 story, you could wrap this story around. You could like use a different type of filmmaking. Like literally the movie could start with Ray finding some sort of journal or somebody telling Ray's stories of Darth Vader.
Starting point is 01:26:18 Like a force goes, or it could be, like she could be legitimately, that's actually a better idea. She could be legitimately talking to Anakin Skywalker who could be recounting to her all of the ways that the dark side got him as she in some way is contending with her own the dark side. Like she could be like in a situation
Starting point is 01:26:38 where the dark side is calling to her, she could decide to call out to the force to Anakin Skywalker, who then is telling her about how he fought against the dark side. They could sit down and he could give her all of the ways that he lost it. And in the third act of the movie, she could find the light, come back in
Starting point is 01:26:56 and that could lead into the... There's all kinds of things you could do with it because there's so many good ideas that exist in the lore that already exists. By the way, that's not to say that all of this other stuff does it. Shit, Kylo Ren could be that person. Like, literally, what I just described... Tyler is the Forrest Ghost,
Starting point is 01:27:11 because he knows all about the Vader Lord. Right, he's a Vader Norris. But I think for this, what people are banking on is like, I think the Vader movie probably does better, but you're depending on, like, hating Christensen doing something he hasn't done in a while, which is carry a movie versus Adam Driver.
Starting point is 01:27:27 I don't think he's got to carry a movie. I think, like... Emotionally, I think he does. Because it's just going to be Vader in the mass, so it's like, the flashbacks have to do a lot of work of making the, like, really feel. Because we never got that much Vader in a movie ever. Well, I won't say this, to the Vader movie thing.
Starting point is 01:27:42 There's a reason why they've never made one. And that is because we've talked about it before how much Darth Vader people are willing to... People actually want. I get it. All of these... ideas are good ideas. You should write that down, man.
Starting point is 01:27:57 But when I'm, they're not going to listen to me. All of these ideas are like, all of these things could work, right? All of these things could work. The thing is just like, see how us talking right now, we realize that there's a way to put Ray and conflict in a movie about Darth Vader and do, there's all kinds of things you could do. It just seems like sometimes they don't want to do them. It seems like there are factions sometimes that say, no, this storytelling is the
Starting point is 01:28:22 storytelling that matters. and this storytelling is the storytelling that doesn't, and we have to commit to, but really, it's kind of like all connected in a way to me. And in a way that nobody has seemingly done in a real serious way. They've done it, but as soon as, as soon as they bring Skywalker back and we get to see Skywalker happen, now we got to kill Skywalker because we have to prove that we are committed to new storytelling.
Starting point is 01:28:52 Just be committed to the story itself. Anyway, that's just me talking too much. But to your point, you've actually convinced me. Obviously, the Kyle over in Steven Soderberg movie could be great. Honestly, at this point, I would rather, of all the stuff, I would rather watch either a Vader or a Bensola movies is basically what I'm saying. Like, give us the character. Like, give us the big characters. Like, I'm trying to recreate the shit.
Starting point is 01:29:12 Ray is a big character, though. No, Ray, no. I don't want to Saji to jump right out. No, Ray is a big character, but I'm just going to be honest, when that movie comes out, these fucking bigoted stars. Wars fans again. They're going to come back. They will come back. It's going to be tough.
Starting point is 01:29:28 All right, man. That was fun. That's a wrap this week on the Ring of Earth's Feet. The House of Art continues their Buffy 2 seasonary visit. The dude I paid $300 in a Trader Joe's Barking Lot to fix my car this week. I followed him. I followed him on Instagram. He's like, I'm a preacher too. Okay, but wait.
Starting point is 01:31:10 this work? What did he fix? Honestly, because my bumper was fucked up and he was like, I could throw a little bit of pain on this. And he's like, $300. I'm like, shit, they was calling me 15 at the... Nah, man. Y'all never fuck with a nigga like that before? So, I was driving in the car and somebody went,
Starting point is 01:31:25 Hey, hey, hey, hey. On the street? Or were they in... In LA. Jesus Christ. Straight up right now. Right now, 150, I buffed that out. Yep. 150, I buffed that out. I was like, you're buffing. He's like, you don't have to pay.
Starting point is 01:31:40 I mean, shit, okay. I was driving, I was like, bet. Nigger pulled out that, did the whole thing. Was it like the suction thing? $150? Then I was like, I was like, shit, I ain't got $150,000.
Starting point is 01:31:51 He's like, let's go to the back. Okay, well, now. This motherfucker brought out his wife and kid. The kid was just like, your car looks like Sonic the Hitchong. I'm like, dog, you've run this one. That's so funny. Y'all never seen, y'all never seen.
Starting point is 01:32:05 Oh, y'all, y'all had no shit that's trash. It's not raggedy, but my, this was back. When I first put a couple of dancing to cross-tour. And his nigga pulled me, just, like, jumped out. Coelie goes, like, what you doing? I'm like, I'm on the side of the road, getting the cross-tour, buffed out. She was like, what? I was like, yeah, this nigger said in traffic that he'll buff the cross-tore out.
Starting point is 01:32:24 No, did I tell you, this homie was doing the play? He's like, nah, he's like, I got 8,500 off a white woman to do her. I think she had, like, a Porsche or something. I'm like, for real. He's like, yeah, you just got to know the car. And look at, he's like, he's like, I knew you would do it for three and a lot. I was like, shit. All right.
Starting point is 01:32:40 This nigga said one thing. I was like, for real? He was like, yeah, hey, you looking crazy. You're looking crazy. Oh, for real? Like, he was doing you a favor. He was. Yeah, well.
Starting point is 01:32:51 Because I had took that bitch to what you call it Ed Schaubb. Oh, yeah, no, no, yeah. Don't run it up. Now, the body shop was like $2,000. I'm like, I'm not paying $2,000. No, no. Of course not. I'll pay hefty for it.
