Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome back to the champions. Champion of the World Cup. We did it. Well, we get two teams in the World Cup. Yes. Let's face it. Of course I was sport in England. But.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Support both countries. Yeah. And, yeah. It was more of a thing that they just beat Argentina, in my opinion, to be honest. Yeah. I was really just, oh, come on. That was annoying. But I did really think we had it in.
Starting point is 00:00:29 I did. I wasn't sure. Sure we had it in us to win the whole thing, but I really did think we'd get to the final this year. I did. I did. I did too. And as well as that, I'm actually thankful it's over because I have a teenager who is football absolutely crazy in my house and has had to watch every match possible. Not just England and Spain. Every match. No, which is like 11, 2, 4, every hour in the middle of the night. So I feel like my house just hasn't slept in like weeks. Do you know what I mean? I feel like, oh, we're all up and down anyway because it's somewhere out. But then with the World Cup, it was just like, every time I got up, it was just there watching football. It was like four o'clock in the morning. I was like, what are you doing?
Starting point is 00:01:09 Oh, it's not even a team. I can't even say it because I couldn't even tell you who it is, you know what I mean? But yeah, so I'm glad that it's over in that respect because it being in America and that time difference killed. Yeah. Well, the first few games were literally like starting at two, three in the morning. Yeah, exactly. Liam actually did stay up for one of the England matches. I don't think he'd come to bed
Starting point is 00:01:31 till half five in the morning. So I mean, this has been a hard time in my house. Luckily, the last few games are like about 9, 10 o'clock so they're much more kind of doable. Reasonable. But yeah, Spain did it and so well deserved as well.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Yeah. So Spain are very good, very good. They are good. So yeah, it was brilliant. The Argentin didn't deserve to win, I'm afraid. No, they didn't get that far. Far too dirty. There we go.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Play football. Yeah. Well, it's not going to. too much football tactics because people you don't know nothing but yeah my opinion of messy has gone way down i have to admit really it has it really has because he normally kind of even though like a lot of the people in the team can be quite dirty they are very aggressive in how they play i think that's just known from the team yeah and he normally keeps himself a bit of respectably out of that kind of side of it yeah you don't think he did this year no and i think that that okay you get
Starting point is 00:02:27 to a point in a game that you think okay we've been winning it this way we're going to win it this way. Do you know what I mean? I'd say. And I just think the player that he is and where he is in his career, I just think you didn't need to do some of the things you did. You look, made you look pathetic. Do you know what I mean? But what do I know, eh? But yeah, they're champions. So yeah, anyway, it's over for another, well, World Cup's four years, isn't it? Was it the Euro's in two? Yeah, euros in two years and then another two years for the World Cup, so four years from now. So we...
Starting point is 00:02:59 I've got two years to catch you on my sleep, then, hey? Yeah, exactly. And four years to see if we can pull out the bag next time. But this episode, I think we are going to dedicate it to cars. Okay. Because Liam... Sir is the first. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Liam's the other day went and picked up his dream car. Yes. So a big day for him. And I need to actually say that congratulations. because I feel like, I think we spoke about this before. These, the things that we don't really take credit for a lot.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Yeah. And I do think they're big things, you know, in, in, in life. And as well as, it's a little bit like picture of his bike,
Starting point is 00:03:40 actually, because there's these things in life that you think, you know, I'd love to have that and I really want that. And then when you actually have it, you're just like, yeah, did it?
Starting point is 00:03:50 Yeah. Did it? I mean, and it is worth what I wanted, you know? Yeah. I love it. So, no, it's very true. it is like Liam got a Tesla so um for for those that know Liam he's obviously very tech bad he's admired Tesla since they've been built um and he's always wanted one and it's kind of been a oh yeah like at some point I'll I'll have one and yeah a couple of months ago we just kind of decided to to bite the bullet and make it happen it was not an easy process trying to sort of finance paperwork wise and pay more than yeah so it was a an absolute fucking roller coaster to get it sorted.
Starting point is 00:04:29 So that experience wasn't the great. That was not fun. I bet he felt like, I don't know what I'm going to? Yeah, honestly, it got to the point. Liam actually said, I remember vividly in the kitchen, he went, do you know what? I give up.
Starting point is 00:04:41 And then that day, we got like one step further. So then he was like, okay. So, but he did actually say at one point, like, I just give up. And it wasn't the Tesla side. They've been super easy and great. It was the fucking finance side. So for those that,
Starting point is 00:04:55 are in Spain probably can sympathise with how useless the banks are. So we like, obviously, we decided to get finance for it. Unless you've got half a million in your back pocket just and whack out there, you can't afford nothing. Exactly. Like, Tesas are expensive. I don't have the money to buy it outright. So, you know, full disclosure, we got finance on it.
Starting point is 00:05:17 They don't do that many good kind of like leasing options that you can get, like they do in England. England definitely is much better for cars. but then I suppose it just hooks you in, don't it? Which is why everyone's ticked up to their eyeballs on it. Exactly. So, you know, we're pretty responsible. This is one of the first cars.
Starting point is 00:05:36 My car's on finance, but I get a car allowance from work to cover a car. So in terms of your finances, I suppose you've got to think about it. Whereas getting into this finance, you need to think, right, can we afford it? Exactly. We've looked at it. You can afford it. Exactly. You've got proof that you can afford it.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Yeah, exactly. That is it. So every car we've had up until this point, and we're going to talk more about all our cars in this episode. But yeah, every car we've had up until this point, we've bought outright. Yes. And then since I've worked in Spain, I've always had a company car. So in my previous company, they were supplied for me. So every couple of years, I'd have a new car and it was great.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Then I went to this new company, well, when I was a real estate agent, I had a car as well. Then at this company, I started off with lease car. but I had to change them a little bit more regularly and then they gave me the option to just have the money and then I can sort out my own thing. Yeah, like an allowance for a car. That's brilliant. So, yeah, so then I went and got my dream car.
Starting point is 00:06:38 I think that's really good actually. Yeah, it was really good actually because with the leasing cars, you're limited with the amount of miles that you do. You have to be careful. And when you drive a lot for work, like it can be a bit difficult. Yeah. And like you say, the agreement that they had with the leasing company they were with, at one point I was having to change my car every three months.
Starting point is 00:06:56 So it was just a fath. Yeah, it's real fath. So it was great that they had the option to have the allowance every month. And then I went and got my dream car with that a couple of years ago. So I've had my car, I think about four years now. That's the car that I've always wanted. So that was good. And like I said, I'll get an allowance for it.
Starting point is 00:07:16 So, you know, I don't really have to think about it too much. I know that it's covered. So this is the first, you know, other bit of finance that's kind of out of our pocket, out of our income that we've gone for. And the process was, yeah, fucking shit. So we've applied multiple times, all different kind of amounts,
Starting point is 00:07:35 because obviously you put down a certain amount as an entrata deposit. Yeah. And then you finance the rest. So we, the, it was Santander finance. And I would San Tandere Bank, but it's a completely separate part of the bloody bank, which makes it no.
Starting point is 00:07:52 You'd think it'd make it easier seeing you are a client of that. But you basically submit an application, choose how much you want to put down and how much then you're going to finance. And then it basically puts it through a stupid computer that says yes or no. So it's literally, computer says no. Computer says yes or no. So, but then surely these people want to get a sale across the line because the bank wants me to be in finance so that I'm going to pay them interest and Tesla want to sell a car.
Starting point is 00:08:19 So the two of them should be doing everything they possibly can. to make me get this car. But I just felt like they weren't at all. And it was quite clear that you can afford it. They have everything. As seen as you're a client, actually, they've got it all there anyway. We actually went on a thing where we gave permission and we signed a document to connect it to give them access to all of our banking history. So, yeah, like, I should be able to afford it.
Starting point is 00:08:42 We don't have a huge amount of outgoings, luckily, with, we don't have a very high mortgage. We've got a very reasonable mortgage. We don't have a lot of direct debits, really. So, yeah, on paper, to me, I shouldn't have been a problem. I shouldn't have been a fixed contract. So there shouldn't have been a problem. So we put it through multiple applications with all different amounts, like a five grand deposit, an eight grand deposit, a 10 grand deposit, just trying to like, what would you accept?
Starting point is 00:09:07 What do you want from us? And that's what we did. We called them. Like, can you just tell me, based on my income, based on my work contract, what you would approve? Yeah. Because clearly the more money you put down, the amount of the monthly payments comes down. So obviously, you have a number that you have a number that you.
Starting point is 00:09:22 you're willing to allow me on a monthly basis. Tell me what it is and I'll tell you if I can afford that Entruder or not. But no. Still no. You just have to put in the application. So we were literally doing all these applications at one point. And we were the ones calling them every other day. They never called us once.
Starting point is 00:09:38 We always called them to chase it. Like, are you going to accept it? It's weird, isn't it? Because if it was anything else, you'd be like, do you know what? I'm not going to give you my custom. Yeah. But it wasn't the company of them. No, exactly.
Starting point is 00:09:53 If Leon didn't want a Tesla so bad, and if it was Tesla treating us like that, it would have been different, but it wasn't, it was the finance company. But yeah, we were chasing them. At one point,
Starting point is 00:10:05 they were like, how many cars do you want? One, just one car, go through the application and help us. Like, it was ridiculous. Then finally they were like, oh,
Starting point is 00:10:15 you need a Cote to allow to sign with you. Like, right, okay, well, we'll put Liam on the car. So we're both, Titora is on it. So then we've got one application accepted after like weeks of forward and backwards, forward and backwards, finally accepted Lee and we knew how much of the Entrida was.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Yes, right, now we can go to the next step. Now we need like the documents, right? So we're sending all that over. So literally days were going by and we're chasing them. And then they finally go like, oh yeah, you're accepted. We just need to finalise it. And what happens in them couple of days? Liam's TIE card expires.
Starting point is 00:10:51 So now that's not something you can just No so they're going just book an appointment Just book an appointment just book an appointment Have you tried to book a TIE appointment? There's probably hundreds of thousands of people's TIE cards that have all expired in this month Because it was around Brexit time Like everyone's done their residentia's at the same time
Starting point is 00:11:12 The system cannot cope To the point that they're actually allowing people To overstay their TIE cards because The point, yeah They're not taking residency from us we literally just have to renew a card. So they don't even have to recheck all our paperwork. Like it's just a card renewal.
Starting point is 00:11:27 And they're like, well, you don't actually need the card. You just need the appointment to show. So I'm like, right, trying to get appointments, calling loads of lawyers. Nobody, they're checking the system every single day for these fucking appointments with a long list of people that need them. So we just said to them like, Google it. It's a problem with the government and the country. Like, it's not possible for us to get an appointment.
Starting point is 00:11:50 And what difference does it make whether he has it or not? He's still a fiscal resident. He's given you his paperwork from his Hestore that he's paying taxes and all those things. Mine's the main income with the work contract of who it sits under anyway. It makes you think, doesn't it? If you'd wrote out, if you'd wrote your own thing out that he had an appointment, would they have known any blamming different or are they just make? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:12:13 Then I'm like, what difference does it make? I could cancel that appointment and not even go to it. So, yeah, anyway. So then we had to like try and figure out another way. In the end, Liam's dad's signed on with me. I see, yeah. Just did it. But then his card only had an extra two weeks then Liam.
Starting point is 00:12:30 So then we're trying to like rush his dad through to try and get it done. Then we finally got it done. But it's literally like every time you think you want to step forward, there's a blocker. I can imagine. So I mean, I... It took about two, three months to get it sorted, to be honest. And it was, yeah, really a crap process. But in terms of once that bit was sorted,
Starting point is 00:12:48 the rest of it was really smooth. Picking up the car was very easy. It's all like in the apps. They literally gave me like a checklist to go around the car and tick, tick, tick, all done. We were in and out. Well, we took a bit longer just because we took time and the boys were there with us. But yeah, you could have been done in 20 minutes and left.
Starting point is 00:13:06 It was such an easy process to get the car, which was from Valencia. So we had a good like two and a bit hour drive back. To have a good go of it. Yeah, exactly. So it was actually really nice because, I forgot I was due on and I came on as we went to pick up the car
Starting point is 00:13:22 I had busting headaches because I get headaches now and then we were driving home and when we drove from picking up the car to the shopping centre to get food quickly before we were leaving Kaysen went with Liam obviously he's another little tech
Starting point is 00:13:37 obsessed kid and then Kaysen stayed in the car with me so then we met at the shopping centre and as we went in the shopping centre and come back Hayden's walking to the new car like no no no and he's trying to get in the new car. He was like, no, no, no. I don't want to get in that. I want to get in that.
Starting point is 00:13:52 So I gave the car seat over. So Liam had both the boys in a highway home and I had a free car to myself for two hours, which was amazing, especially when you got a headache. I was going to say, yeah, I suppose I've gone away from appreciating them moments in a way. One are a bit older, aren't there? But, yeah, I can you imagine when it's like, Mom, we'll need this, I need that. And they were so hyper, like with all the excitement and everything. Like, it was a little bit stressful in the same.
Starting point is 00:14:16 It's like Liam's trying to do all the checks, make sure he's checked everything before we leave. And we're like two hours from home. We've just been to Kason's hospital appointment for his operation in the morning to check. So we're like half sure that it's maybe worked, but still questions. And then we've got there and the boys are like so, so hyper. Liam's getting stressed. He's trying to check everything. Make sure he's done it all right.
Starting point is 00:14:37 But yeah, it was really good. And yeah, loves the car. And this was all for Liam. Like, do I want a Tesla? Really not that fuss. Like, the plan actually was to, once we've got that car, sell my car. So we've only got one finance. And then since we're like debating keep in mind because we've always had two cars since we've known each other.
Starting point is 00:15:03 We went down to one car for a good couple of years because we had real issues with our second car with one of Liam's mechanic friends, which we will not talk to. Even though there. Even I'm getting nervous. Very a tense topic and the car's still not fixed years later and it's in the garage now with new people trying to get fixed. So whether or not we get that car fixed and get it back then, we'll debate it then. But just the freedom of having two cars again. I have to agree, especially with the kids, they're only going to do more and probably at different times. So, and different places.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Well, even just being stuck indoors on the weekend, like Liam works whenever he has work. So that can be a Sunday, that can be a Saturday. That can be late. That can be in the morning. And like, especially the weekends, if he's out at work and if he's got a long day, like, I'm stuck indoors with the kids. Yeah. And they are getting to an age where, like, you do want to get them out for a bit and, you know,
Starting point is 00:15:58 take them places. And, like, even just coming and, like, meeting up with you guys. I can't do those things on the weekend. And, like, even with me and Kaysen being in the hospital overnight, Liam was having to borrow his mum's car to drive up to see us because I had the car to get us there at, like, 6 o'clock in the morning. So, yeah, we absolutely do. I know some people can manage with one car and yeah, we've done it for years so we know it's possible,
Starting point is 00:16:22 but I would like the freedom of having two cars. Yeah, at the moment you've got the two. So if you're going to keep me. The boys like going back to school in September and stuff, like I would actually quite like to, if we're all up in the morning, like go out at 8 and maybe go for a walk and not have to rush back to get the boys to school and things like, will I do that? I don't know. But I would like the option too, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:16:41 Yeah, it's an idea. So, yeah. But I am actually really pleasantly surprised with the test. Lair, it's really smart. So I didn't actually drive it that day. Liam drove it. And then I drove it the next day. We went and charged it up.
Starting point is 00:16:55 Are you going to have to get a charger at your house? Yeah. So when we bought the car, we bought a wool charger for the house. So Liam and his dad have kind of set it all up. But the kind of final bits of the installation, he needs a proper electrician. So he's in touch with Danny actually to, I think, do the last bit. So until that's done done, we will be able to charge it at home. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:15 But yeah, we just charged it. We just went up to San Javier by Dust Maras. They got fast charger. And then we just went into a couple of the shops. And then it was done in 20 minutes. Nice. So, yeah, no, really impressive. It's a really smooth, lovely drive.
Starting point is 00:17:30 It's got power. Like, oh my God. Like, you put your foot down. It shoots off. Like, there's no delay. There's no, like, woo. Like, it just goes. It's got so much power.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Really comfy, really smooth. Surprisingly big. We went for the Y model, which is the bigger one. specifically, you know, having the two kids, having car seats, pram and everything, we needed a bigger car because the evoke is a little bit small. And you feel the space. Yeah. Oh, like Liam's, like, says he drives like with his knees up because like my car is small.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And when Liam's in it, Kaysen doesn't have much knee room anymore. So, yeah, my car is definitely perfect for me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, yeah, we're outgrowing. And when we went to Mahaka a couple of months ago, like to the brin, like, and even one suitcase when we went back to England or wherever we went on holiday, one suitcase pretty much takes up my boot.
Starting point is 00:18:18 So then when you got the pram, the kids had everything stuffed in their footwell in between them, literally, like, so. So it's nice spacious. Very spacious because it doesn't have an engine. So you've got that space. A boot at the front, a boot at the back. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:18:31 The boot at the back is so much bigger than my car because it's a bigger car anyway, but quite deceiving. It doesn't feel too big. Probably a similar size to like your car, I'd say. But your car's, you know, quite a bit bigger than mine anyway. But yeah, really impressive it. And yeah, just glad that, yeah, we've managed to do it for him.
Starting point is 00:18:49 And the same thing, I didn't really think much of it. Like, I'm happy for him because I know he's wanted it. But when I posted like a little video, quite a few people like, oh, well deserved. It is. Like, congratulations. And I thought, yeah, do you know what? It is. He's wanted it for years.
Starting point is 00:19:03 And we've only just got to a point where we're doing it now. And I stuck at it and didn't hurt anyone in finance. Yeah. God, that was probably harder to get them in my house. But then that's the life. I think it's one of these life experiences we have, isn't it? They get through these scenes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Good stuff lays on the other side of hard work. Like, proved it to us. But you should, you should feel proud that you've got it. And again, I know you're saying it's for Liam, but it is. Yeah. You should be congratulated. Well, actually, I say it's for Liam and 100% is for Liam because Liam doesn't buy anything for himself.
Starting point is 00:19:36 He doesn't give a shit about what he wears. Or doesn't want for nothing. Doesn't want for nothing. Like, the only coat he has is a. anything that I pick him up. He doesn't, you know, design and nothing, like trainers, you know, he'll wear them until they're filthy. Like, he really doesn't want or ask for much. So it was nice to get him something that I know that he really wants. And yeah, you know, like, I've spent loads of money over the years on courses and trips and things. And like, it's nice that he's got
Starting point is 00:20:04 something for him, like, for how hard we work. So, yeah, really, happy for him. And, and, yeah, So let's talk more about cars. Okay, okay. So what was your very first car? Do you remember? I think Ryan was the BM when it. The Blue BM, three series. Yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:20:25 Was that your first car? That was my first car, yeah. That was when you had Morgan, wasn't it? Or you had that car when I must have been, we didn't actually live in Spain together when we did our driving because I did my driving in England. I did mine in England. Yeah, but you went back to do it and come back to you.
Starting point is 00:20:41 Oh yeah, I did, yeah. right um i was living in england when we turned stage to drive i was 18 yeah um so so i remember coming back on holiday and meeting morgan as a baby and you had that car i think yeah i don't think i had a car before then i'd used a car at well i'd used a smart car really small oh god they are so weird weird car um because it was automatic as well and i'm not i wasn't used it will make. And then it was a three series. That was my car that I'd bought.
Starting point is 00:21:17 And then I'd had one from work. Well, actually, I think Mitch, I think Mitch crashed that car, actually. I think Mitch crashed that car. And then my work gave me, they got a new BM. So I'd have the newest BM of whatever it was. That wasn't my car, but I had it as my car.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Yeah. And then I think my mom and dad had bought me. I couldn't even tell you. what it is. Do you remember that little blue-purpley thing? Don't you remember? I couldn't even tell you what it is. I mean, that sound disrespectful.
Starting point is 00:21:47 I was just a bit like, thanks. I didn't even want to park it outside my house. Oh, God. And that sounds awful. It really does. It does. It sounds awful. You're not the most appreciative when you're a teenager.
Starting point is 00:21:59 No, I don't think I was a teenager. I was younger. I was younger than I am now, right? Yeah, so that was my first kind of thing. Yours would have been a Volkswagen, wouldn't it? No. No. So my very first car, I had a Perjo 206. Oh, did you? Which was like a metallicy, reddy, burgundy colour.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Yeah. And it had the extra, which had a sun, like one of the big panoramic sunroofs. So, yeah, so I got my car in England when I went to college. And there was pretty much like the same four or five cars that everybody was getting for their first car. So it's like a horse. It's like a, it's like a, I don't think it's that much here. So I don't know if it. I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:22:40 If it was that typical here. CES was very, yes. Yeah, so the Seat Leons, the Ford Fiestas, the courses, where it was in England. The courses. Yeah, there was like a typical, like, four or five cars that everybody got for their first car. And the Perjo 206 was one of them.
Starting point is 00:22:56 So I remember, like, looking for cars out with my mom, like, ages and ages trying to pick out cars that I liked. And, yeah, like, it is a big thing. Like, you want the car that you want. Yeah. Like, and even, you know, as a parent, and, you know, I find it with case and even with stupid things. Like, yeah, but this one's better value and this one's like nicer in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:23:16 And then like as a kid, like it's like with the trainers and with the outfits, it's not cool. I want what's cool and I want what's in and that's not it. You're not thinking about insurance and everything else. Exactly. Like, as a parent, you're thinking from a completely different point of view. So anyway, I remember looking through loads of cars. And it had to only be like certain few cars.
Starting point is 00:23:36 And then it was waiting on the driver and I got back. for my driving test. So I kind of had a feeling, but I wasn't quite sure exactly which one. And whether it was going to be ready for me or like once I got my test, then maybe we would go get it. So that was a nice surprise.
Starting point is 00:23:51 It had that big bowling and stuff. That was really nice. So yeah, that was my first car. It broke quite a lot. It was absolutely fine for a long time. And I'd drive to college, you know, every day. And then, yeah, I remember breaking down once or twice. And it was just one of those things.
Starting point is 00:24:10 It just, yeah, typical Perjo French car. Like, I think Perjo's a better now. But back then, they didn't have the best reputation. It was a typical thing. Typical thing. And obviously, you know, I wasn't getting a brand new car. It was a used car. So, yeah, I think there was a couple things that went wrong with it.
Starting point is 00:24:26 And then after that, after that, I think I got my mum's silver golf. I think I went from that car to that car. And I was working at Volkswagen at that point. That's why I presume you'd have a voice back again. So this, I think I got the car as I'd started or just after or just before around that time. So then I had, my mum got a new car and I had that car, which was like a really nice car. I loved golfs anyway. Then I ended up buying another golf free work because I think that one, the turbo might have been going.
Starting point is 00:25:03 So then there was a part exchange that had come in and I could buy it really cheap. So I ended up buying that car. So then I had a red golf. um do you have a beetle yeah so my mom bought me the perjo 206 for my 18th and then for my 21st she wanted to get all of us like an upgrade like a nice car whereas the first i mean the first car was a nice car that's more than what you know some parents do but she and her head had a thing that she wanted to get us like an upgrade for our 21st so yeah i think i only had the two golfs and then i went from that possibly yeah i think i did i went from the golf to my beetle for my 21st because my brother's three years younger. So then the golf that I had, my brother had for his 18th. So I think that's, yeah. Did you bring the beetle here?
Starting point is 00:25:49 Yeah. I think that's why I remember that. Yeah, because we had that car here. So, yeah, my mum found this beetle. I don't know if I would have picked a beetle. Okay. I liked beetles, definitely. But I probably would have gone for a newer golf.
Starting point is 00:26:03 By that point, they had two or three, like, facelifts and they looked different. And they did, like, R lines up, the sporty ones. So I probably would have picked that. And we were looking at those. But then my mom found this beetle. And it was really smart. It was jet black. It was low profile.
Starting point is 00:26:19 It had like the thin wheels. So it looked quite sporty. So yeah. She really wanted me to have that car. And obviously she would buy in it. So I was like, yeah. But yeah, it was a proper girly car. Really nice.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Loved it. And then I brought that when we moved over here. Yeah. At first I didn't. At first, Liam had a polo. So when we first moved back, we packed up the polo. and we drove it over and I had my car for sale or my mom was going to sell it later. And in the end, she drove it over a couple of months, literally a couple of months after we moved here.
Starting point is 00:26:52 So then we both had a car. So, yeah, I kept the people here for a couple of years. And I only sold that because then I started to get my company cars. So, but yeah, I did. I love that car. And it was a convertible as well. So, yeah, it was proper girls. It wasn't, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:05 So, yeah. Love that. And then I had work cars, which I didn't really get to choose. which were always brand new, so yeah, absolutely fine. And then, yeah, then I got my vote. Yeah. Which Liam found me online and I went for the Brown because it's unusual and it's definitely a me. I was going to say it's definitely.
Starting point is 00:27:26 It's weird because there's nothing, you know how you've said you wanted that? And then Liam wanted the Tesla and obviously Mitch with his bike. You never really like that you wanted. No, it didn't really. It took me a year to find my car. And even then, I'm just, I don't remember, I do love my car, you know what I mean? So, yeah, and it was, I went for an older car than what I had, didn't I? Do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:27:49 In what I got now. Yeah, yeah. Because I, before that, I'd had a brand new car. Yeah. And that gave me more problems than anything. Yeah, you had that for quite a while. And then, yeah, when it comes to getting this new car, which you knew you had to get, it took you ages to make that decision.
Starting point is 00:28:03 So, so, so. Which isn't shocking. It isn't shocking. It is a shocking for me, fair. No, I think some people, yeah, you just have. some things you care about and some things you don't. I think, I don't know if it's because, I said, I grew up with cars. Like, I worked at Volkswagen all through college and university.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Yeah, so you're in that hard. I did, I think even without that, I would have liked what always, like, had an interest in what car I was driving. And I think more so because I did quite get into cars. Like, I started off being like a weekend girl, just had to answer the phones and greet people to, I basically could tell you what model, which ones, whether it had. this included, that included. And I basically sold it to them. They're like, oh, okay, can we talk finance now?
Starting point is 00:28:43 And then I'd have to pass it to a salesman and not get any commission for it. But it wasn't my job. But because I'd learned so much about the cars, I could sell it to someone. So yeah, I wish I did no more. But I, no, there's nothing really. I can't fix a car for shit. I don't know any of that stuff. I think if I'm going to preference, I probably like bigger cars.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Yes. If that makes sense. Like, I have to sit high. Yes. I do not like low down cars. No. No. So when, even when the kids are, oh, that sports car and this sports car, I'm like, oh my God, it's this.
Starting point is 00:29:18 I'm like, no. No, give me a Jeep any day. Yeah. You know, yeah, definitely. But then that takes me back to when I was younger a story that my brother had told me where my mom and dad had bought this sort of sports sort of something car. You know, it wasn't like top top, but it was a sports model of a car, whatever it was. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:37 And they were so excited to obviously come and show us. So my mother was, oh yeah, that's really cool. I was this in England when we're younger. Oh, that's really cool. And I went to school in, you know, in the, in the countryside. So everyone who I went to school with had range rovers. I don't want a sports car. I want a reindeer.
Starting point is 00:29:51 You know? Oh, on a Jeep. Yeah, a Land Rover, whatever is, you know, that's what a four by four. Yeah. I want a big car. That's why I want a big car. Now, I've always liked big cars. I'm definitely like a four by four fan.
Starting point is 00:30:02 And my mom's like, look, it's like this and like that. I don't want it. I want a big car. So actually the Voke is the first kind of like four-by-four Jeep. car that I've had. But my mom had a few growing up. She had a Mitsubisi Shogun, which that was probably one of my favourite cars that she had. When I was younger, she had another Jeep that was pink. And, you know, they have the wheels on the back of some of the jeep. Yeah, like a proper jeep. And she had a cover on it. And it had a picture of a pig and it said, oink, on piggy power.
Starting point is 00:30:27 I love that. And so like that is just like ingrained in my memory. So that was when I was really small. The Mitsubishi Shogun come a bit later. I think we actually drove that over here. I had something similar. And that was like a proper. I was in. the age there where I liked cars by that point. That felt like a big... That felt like you could ride over anything. Yeah. That's how that car felt when I had one like that.
Starting point is 00:30:46 You could just literally drive over it because you wouldn't... Monster truck. No. But yeah, no, I remember that car. Yeah. It's funny thinking back to our childhood car. Well, talking about cars, a very vivid memory for me that I remember having a car was... I think it was a rover and waking up...
Starting point is 00:31:06 Well, I don't think I woke up, but obviously my parents been woke up in the middle a night and the car had started itself and drove itself into my garage and it was going into the garage door like this yeah weird without the key no no key nothing there was something wrong with the car clearly don't tell me what's wrong with it like what they found yeah yeah but yeah they woke up in the middle of that the car had started itself and drove because it was on the drive and luckily the drive went down so it's just going into the garage door well that's lucky yeah jeep yeah that was a memory that I have of having a car. Have you had any accidents?
Starting point is 00:31:43 Touch word. What, I've had, I've drove. As a kid I don't remember any accidents. My mum's had a couple, but I've never been in the car. No, I'm only accident I remember in transport that my mum ever had was actually on a coach. She used to go to, we said this before, at Ascot on all this every year. And the coach had had an accident or, and where she used to be the one walking up and down and all that kind of thing, she'd gone. and she'd then submit to her wrist.
Starting point is 00:32:08 And I always remember she had like this support thing on her wrist, like all the time. You know what I mean? All the time. So it was proper memory of that, that this accident had done that to my mum's hand. But here, because obviously I did, I know I did my licence in England, I didn't really drive in England. I think for the six months that I did live in England, Mandy came up to the house. Sorry, Uncle Colin. We drove my, well, he wasn't there.
Starting point is 00:32:32 We took my Uncle Collin's car out. I did have a licence, but obviously I'd never. I took the car out of the drive only to the top of the road where the local little shop was, you know. And I think I drove all the way up that road on the wrong side because I used to driving in in Spain. And I couldn't park and God knows what I did. But we managed to get home and I thought, I remember it being on the drive, like he's definitely going to know if I took it because it was like that. But I thought I ain't getting in that car. I am not going to know when it is. You know, how I got my license. I cannot drive. It was just that confidence.
Starting point is 00:33:06 thing. And plus I probably shouldn't be taking the car. Did you pass first time? No. My theory, yeah. My practical, oh, don't talk about it. It pisses me off. I've already told you around my window cleaning.
Starting point is 00:33:19 Oh, God. But yeah, no, I didn't pass because I think it was because of the, we got to a roundabout and I was going to go, but I waited. And then I was, then there was the space. But some boy driver, like, boy race or even I could kind of cut across the roundabout. And instead of me just dealing with that and then going, I obviously was like, fucking idiot. And you can't behave like that. Well, you can.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Am I wrong though? Am I wrong? And obviously the age that we are and the way I was then at that age, you know, there was no telling me. So, but yeah, the next time I did, I did pass. It didn't, didn't take me a lot of times. And my theory, I did pass. But the crash I had, sorry, with the crash, the crash that had again, wasn't in one of my own cars.
Starting point is 00:34:04 I think I had this car. because my car was in the garage or something like that. Do you know what I mean? It wasn't my car. Yeah. And I was working in Elche at the time and the clinic was on like a proper high street. You know, like, you know, so you can't park anywhere there. But it's like, you know what it's like traffic light and then not?
Starting point is 00:34:23 You know, like that kind of thing. Stop and start. And I think I'd basically, it was late and I think I'd basically gone through the traffic light, really. Gone through the traffic light and then took me out. Like obviously the car's coming up this way where they were there. They took me out. So proper. Yeah, yeah, proper took me out.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Into like your door? Yeah. No, it would have been the passenger door because I was over here. But it went like that. Yeah. You know what I mean? Weirdly enough, actually was he in the car? I don't know if I don't think he was because I used to actually take Mason with me in the car to the drive.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Because the way I'd do it was I'd work morning and the deal was that I'd bring someone back from work. Do you know what I mean? So it was a bit of a situation. But so Mason was in the car with me sometimes. I don't think he was this time because the way it was, I knew we went like that. Yeah. I don't think there was much to it. It was my fault, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:35:08 So, you know, I don't think I was damaged. I don't think any else was not damaged like my body. The car was obviously damaged. Yeah. So, yeah, that in terms of crashes, I think, I think that's all I've had. Yeah. You? Can I get under it, in it?
Starting point is 00:35:24 So I passed first time, but I nearly failed because you can have four minors in the same category. And if you get a fifth one, that turns into a major and then you fail. I got four for speed. leading. But it was purely because the fucking instructor was distracted me because obviously you're nervous, like, you know, doing your test and I'd done a week intensive driving, like eight hours a day. I was definitely good enough to drive. So I'm driving and obviously I think he could tell I was nervous. So he's trying to like break the ice and talk to me. Then anyway, he found out I was doing Spanish A level and that I lived in Spain. Well, then he's asking me
Starting point is 00:36:03 a fucking million questions under the sun. So then I'm like, driving and then I'm like clocking the speed and then slowing back down again because I'm nervous as well and it is slow and he was the speed of it is it is ridiculously slow yeah and we were on like 30 roads so yeah like I nearly nearly one more minor in that category and I would have failed but it would have been his fault stupid man distracting me but um yeah in terms of you've cutting me up I'm joking so I've never had an accident on a in a car in a car in In a car. We could talk loads on a bike, won't we?
Starting point is 00:36:38 Yeah, yeah, that's something else. But in a car, I did have someone rear-end me right at the plaza. I wasn't going fast, to be fair. Makes me just want to hold my head. Yeah, no, this was really, really slow, but I was pregnant with Hayden. Ooh. And it was really annoying because I think it was, yeah, so I was pregnant with Hayden. I was quite big, probably about seven months, maybe even close.
Starting point is 00:37:06 closer to having him. And I was covering to somebody else. I was going to someone like to visit a partner for work and stuff. So I shouldn't have even been there. It's not even the area in which I work, even though it's like quite next to my house. I don't work in that area. I don't look after partners in that area.
Starting point is 00:37:21 My area is covered away. So I was doing somebody else to favour. He definitely shouldn't have been there. So then that was even more right. And I was in my vogue as well. So I drove past the plaza and I was coming up to where the golf course is and someone had slammed on their brakes in front of me to reverse. Like last minute, like, oh yeah, yeah, I can get in there.
Starting point is 00:37:38 So I've moved, in it? I've stopped quickly. And anyway, because I've stopped quickly, I've looked up and I could see the girl behind me not looking and literally I felt it coming. So I think I took my foot off the break because I did hear that one. So it's not so much of a bang. And I couldn't move because the car in front of me was like too close to me for me to pull forward. And I couldn't pull in to the other side because the cars are coming the other side. So I literally just had to like wait for her to hit me.
Starting point is 00:38:04 That's worse. Yeah, it felt like it was really slow motion, but it probably wasn't. So anyway, I got out the car. Her car was quite dented in. Mine looked untouched, to be fair. I took her details and stuff. Actually, the same thing happened to me in Penta Prima in a work car. Someone rear-ended me there as well, very slowly.
Starting point is 00:38:28 Do you know what it is, though, for me, when I was younger. Yes. So when I was younger, I was right, I'm sure, I'm sure, I'm sure, I'm sure, I'm a, I'm sure. And it is, obviously, you need to be insured. Yeah. But it's the ag of the process. Yeah. Even if you're in the right.
Starting point is 00:38:43 I didn't end up contacting her to do anything. It's just long, isn't it? Do you know what I mean? Her car was definitely more affected than mine. So she would have had to have done something, but it was also her fault. So whether she would have even contacted her insurance anyway. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:54 I took her details, but then I was like, there's not really anything that's wrong with mine. But then having said that, I think a similar thing happened to my brother. And on the outside of look, fine but it had bent the access inside. So you couldn't see. So you should always get the car looked at. You saying that,
Starting point is 00:39:09 I've just, I wasn't with me, I wasn't in the car. It was with the, it was a brand, the brand new car I'd bought. Lexi was weeks old. Like, could have been days old to be once we go. Someone had the same rear ended into, into the car. Mitch was driving. With all the pain? With pain.
Starting point is 00:39:28 With pain in the car people. Mate. The pain. Wasn't he drink drive? the other guy? Yeah, the other guy, yeah. But I had to have someone to come to the house to get Lexi. I had to make sure I fed her.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Because obviously then I think she was feeding every like two hours or an hour. You just don't know when that ate. Every second it feels like. So then I had to think my sister had to come so then I could go and deal with it. And then I'd be like, I've got my baby at home. All these things going on. But yeah, that was a long-ass process. That again was just the process.
Starting point is 00:40:02 Yeah. Like the car, I had no car, it was full of pain, I had a baby. I've never actually used my insurance for anything, I don't think. Car or house-wise. Like, I know, Liz and my dad have done a few things with their house. And there's probably been things over the years that we could have and we just not bothered it. But sometimes, yeah, I've had it even my dad with their house insurance. I think, I'd say what, why don't you even pay it?
Starting point is 00:40:22 Because when you actually try and use it, they go, no, it doesn't cover that. Or no, that's because it is something like, what? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so crashes. I've probably had a few. I don't know, I can't think, to be honest, of anything major, but that's the only thing that I can remember. What's been your best or worst, like, drive or trip in a car?
Starting point is 00:40:43 Oh, that's a good one. As a kid, I remember driving to camping. That was always fun. I think I was always with a friend in their car, and they used to be played the game, finding the Eddie Stubbard lorries. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. So we'd always...
Starting point is 00:41:04 Realise what you're talking about then. Yeah, so we'd have to... Yeah, yeah. We'd all have to, just, whoever many get the most thing like that. Yeah, it's all the proper car journey, sounds, like, spot this and, like... Yeah, all that. Yeah, using imagination because you didn't have screens, basically. You're getting the A to Z out on there.
Starting point is 00:41:19 They're not in navigation system, whatever is. And then as an adult... I'm trying to think, really. we trips, like the actual drive itself. Yeah. Like a nice drive. Um, but Gibral was a nice drive.
Starting point is 00:41:40 It's easy drive. You know, like that, all easy drives down that way, down, like, Almatyria way. Madrid was quite a nice drive. That was weird. I mean, we ended up having to borrow a little mom's dad's car because we thought ours was going to break. We didn't want to drive that far. So we didn't have the, you know, a big, nice, comfortable car.
Starting point is 00:41:57 Yeah. Yeah, it's not the most comfortable car, but it got us there. It did. But how weird we were like, yeah, we'll see you there. And then we decided to stop both of us at the same petrol station within five minutes of each other. And it was so unplanned. But only for a week. We're like doing this whole thing.
Starting point is 00:42:14 I don't know if we got petrol. No, but you know what I mean? It was stopping for lunch or... No, it was literally a quick stop. We were literally going to, yeah, use the bathrooms, get some drinks and some chocolate and stuff. Of all the stops across the whole four hour drive, at whatever time, I think we've been driving an hour and a half two hours. Yeah, we both decided to stop at the same time.
Starting point is 00:42:33 Yeah, that was a good choice, I have to say. That was an easy drive as well actually. Yeah. It was. No, we'll definitely do that again. But we're quite lucky with where we are, I think, with drives like that. Yeah, once you get out of, like, the, the motorways are smooth, that, you know, it's not backed up motorways. It's not straight, running away.
Starting point is 00:42:50 It's like four or five lanes with loads of cars. Like, we do have quite open, easy. And straight runs of. Yes, that as well. I think, yeah. Yeah, all of my drives have been nice. I love, I love it though. I genuinely prefer that than flying.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Yeah. If I could drive to Australia, I'd do it. Well, saying this car's for Liam, I've actually got so excited for driving. Like I said to Liam, like, now Hayden's, you know, got a bit older as well. We don't travel Spain much at all. And I'm like, we are in this car going to at least once a month go an hour, two hours, an hour, like we went to Valencia and back the same day. Age changes with the kids anywhere.
Starting point is 00:43:26 But like you say. It does. I've said this so many times. Stages will change everything. For the weekend or even just for the day. We don't drive for the day. So in summer we don't stay out anymore. We go out like that.
Starting point is 00:43:39 We go out for the day. We go to Almeria for the day. We go to hit for the day. Even like Altea's lovely. Like even Cartagena. Like Mercy even we don't go. Like going to Mahaka, you can do, you can do. Even Valencia like I say we went there and back the same day.
Starting point is 00:43:55 But we said it the other day we went to the waterfalls. Yeah. Went to the waterfall the other day, but we say, oh, we've been there. Well, we haven't. We actually hadn't been there for over 10 years, over 10 years. You forget, because it's like, I've already done it. I've done it with Mason, but actually I've got another two children that haven't done anything. Talking about drives.
Starting point is 00:44:12 One of the worst drives that I had was when there's two that come to mind. One was when we were driving over to move here again from England and we were in the polo. Was it the polo? Yeah, I think it was. I think it was when we moved here. So we had the polo up to our ears with stuff. Like everything shoved in this little car. And we actually had paid 300 odd quid for the ferry from Portsmouth all the way to the top of Spain.
Starting point is 00:44:43 And like a week before we were leaving, they cancelled the ferry and refunded us. So we ended up booking just to go like to France. And then we had like the drive. Double the amount of driving to do. I think it was like 18 hour drive or something. So anyway, we were excited. we got the ferry, we got to France, and we were like on a high,
Starting point is 00:45:03 so we'd just be driving and driving, driving, driving. And I said to him, like, it's getting late. Like, even though you feel like you've got loads more in you, like we should probably find somewhere to like stay for the night because we hadn't booked anything. And then he's like, no, no, no, I just want to go, I just want to go. And I was like, right, well, I know exactly what's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:45:16 You're going to then get tired and we're not going to have anywhere to go. And he's like, oh, we'll find somewhere. So what did I say? This is what happened. But I remember watching an episode of the Kardashians on my iPad. and by this point it was dark, it started raining, and a spider, that big, no light, run across the screen. Well, I've thrown the iPad, I've jumped up on my chair and I'm like, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:45:41 And then obviously I can't sit down because I don't know where this spider's gone. Liam, to this day, thinks it was like something put into the recording of like, because it's a pirate copy obviously when you're watching shit online. He thinks it wasn't even real. But I made him stop the car and it was pissing down my brain. It was dark. He's got his phone torch. you're trying to find this spider.
Starting point is 00:45:59 And then for miles, I'm sat on, like, my feet like this, like pins and needles, can't sit down. I would have been exactly. I probably wouldn't have. Yeah, it was big as well. It was big. So that's the size of it would make me think, surely it must have been fake because it was that big. But you travelled. But anyway.
Starting point is 00:46:17 Could come from anywhere. But carrying on from there in the rain, the worst bit, it must have been about, it was silly o'clock in the morning, maybe two, three o'clock in the morning. and it was hailstoning, like storm. Like, and you know how it gets here where it like washes you out? Anyway, we're in the Pyrenees mountains. Oh, no. Like weaving round the edge of cliffs. Oh, said that.
Starting point is 00:46:40 We've been driving all day. It's hellstone in. We're really, really tired at this point, but you can't stop anywhere because you're in the fucking mountain. And there is nowhere to pull over to rest. So we're just having to go through. I'm so tired, like I could cry with. how tired I am, but I'm trying to stay awake because really, like, I need to help you make sure
Starting point is 00:47:01 that we don't die. We're in this together. On this clip. Liam's like, just go to sleep. I'm like, oh, God, I need to help. But I'm so tired. And, yeah. The logic thing would be you go to sleep so that he can drive.
Starting point is 00:47:12 Then you could just want to say about it. Exactly. But no, like, with how much it was raining and being on a cliff, I was like, we have, like, it's actually really dangerous. So I'm like, I'm trying to stay awake. Anyway, we got through it. And then, yeah, then Lynn was like, oh, we'll swap. And then by that point, I was like, well, I'm, I'm,
Starting point is 00:47:27 tired too. We did pull over after we got out the mountains and tried to sleep in the car, literally just pulled on the side of the road for probably an hour. Then the sun come up and you can hear dogs and chickens and people. So we literally got like an hour. Then I tried to drive and I'm like this. So then Liam took over and we ended up doing it all in like short a time than we planned. But yeah, that was probably the worst drive. You didn't want to do it like that. I didn't want to do it like that. And I didn't, yeah, that wasn't the plan. But yeah, nearly falling down the mountain was Yeah, not a nice drive. That would, yeah, that would, I don't know what I would do actually, to be fair with stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:48:02 Because Mitch would just be the same. He'd just keep going. Yeah. You know what I mean? And just be like, blah, blah, blah, blah. Make me back. Okay, so to finish off, we're going to do it, this or that with cars. This are that.
Starting point is 00:48:15 So, this or that and a couple of questions. So, manual, auto. Manual. Auto. I'm an auto girl now. I'm a manual, and I want a good... I always thought that. Like, I just want to be able to, like, put my foot down and just.
Starting point is 00:48:27 change gear and I like changing gear until I really drive an automatic and then since then. I've had, I've had an auto. I just, yeah, now I prefer, I just prefer a good old, for a lot of different reasons. I like hearing the, you know, I like hearing the change. I like changing gear, but yeah, Liam drove an automatic when we went to America once, then he was like, I'm getting an automatic. So when we bought a car when I was pregnant with Kaysen, that was the automatic. Then I used to like driving his because it was automatic and then I got an automatic. Yeah. But most people do even let license is just for automatic now anyway. Well, in America, it's like, do you drive stick?
Starting point is 00:49:00 Like, people don't know how to drive manuals. They only do auto tests. I do. I do. I prefer a good manual when you got the, you could probably give it a ghost. Yeah, you can't really angry driving in automatic. I give you that. Music or podcasts.
Starting point is 00:49:20 Oh, I'm going to say music. Well, no, I'm going to say music because I like watching podcasts. I know people listen. But I'm a watcher of a podcast. Yeah, I've got more into watching podcasts lately since I do less driving for work. When I drove for work, it was podcast only. Yeah. I got bored of listening to music.
Starting point is 00:49:37 So I actually always have a podcast. I do get that. I do get that. But only when you're driving every day. I was going to say, if I was on my own, but most of the time, I wouldn't be on. If I put a podcast on the kids, they wouldn't let me listen to it. Yeah. I'd have podcasts on through the day, for example, that I'm listening to.
Starting point is 00:49:51 Then I'd pick casing up from school. And then I'm like, you're trying to listen and he's talking to me. Exactly that. It doesn't work. If I was a driver and did long distances, I'd probably listen to podcasts, but I do like watching them. So music. And music changes me. It gives me that bit of an oomph, to be honest.
Starting point is 00:50:08 Clean car or messy car? What, inside or outside? Inside it has to be clean, but it just doesn't keep that way. It just doesn't stay that way. In summer, it's full of sand. In winter, it's full of the black bits off the football pitch. That's a-a-tuff. I hate them things.
Starting point is 00:50:29 In the week, it usually, my side door gets filled up with my breakfast biscuit wrappers because I eat that on the way to work. And then my breakfast record goes in the door. Yeah. I'd definitely prefer a clean one. Mitch has this thing, because I've just spoken, about cleaning the, going to the car wash to clean the bike or the car or, you know, that's got a thing about it. And I make him right, I think it comes from his van. Yeah. It comes from his van of, you know, if my van's not clean, then it's not a good representation of my business, is it?
Starting point is 00:50:53 You know? And that's got my name on it. So, and he's always been like that. Yeah. My company cars were always clean. I did when I first started doing it, used to have to have clients in the car a bit, especially as an estate agent. But even when I went through like long periods of not actually having, knowing that anyone was going to be in the car, it would always be clean. I would inside and outside is only when we started sharing cars, Liam has the inside of the car so messy. But it's just from working and like wrappers of like car parts, phone parts and bits and bob. But even then he sat in him. not picking it up and put it out of the car. Exactly, yeah. He could do that and we do park right outside the bins. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:31 Yeah. But yeah, he does tidy it up every now and then. But that's the difference. But that's the different. When I get out the car and I get home, I get the stuff out the car. So when I'm, do you want to get that? And do you want to get that? Why are you leaving the car?
Starting point is 00:51:44 You came in with 10 things and you leave in nothing. Yeah, see, even me if I'd had like a banana or something, I still forget. That's what I'm saying. My rapper's my guilty thing there, I have to say. But fact, I hate. the smell of clean the new car smell. Really? Oh, actually, I could actually gag now thinking about it.
Starting point is 00:52:01 Really? Yeah, when I got my new car, I had to like put everything in it to try and get that smell. I couldn't get in it. Oh, I think I love that smell. When I rent a car, so when you go, wherever you go, they've usually got that new smell. Oh, I hate it. Oh, I like a new car smell.
Starting point is 00:52:16 That's like the best thing. It's actually making me feel sick thinking about it. Weird, isn't it? Really weird. Beach drive or Mountain Drive? I would prefer a beach drive because the mountain drive. drive that would freak me out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, well, we kind of spoke about this. Do you have a dream car? You don't really. I don't. I think if I was going to now think if I wanted to
Starting point is 00:52:37 any budget, like if you had to change your car and you could buy whatever you wanted. I was going to laugh at me now because you say any budget. I just want like a ranger, like a big, fat, farm ranger. Yeah, like a sport. Yeah, like a big. The bigger one, big like that I can ride over anyone in. Yeah. Yeah. See, I'd probably go for the defender. The ranger over defender. Yes. Yes. I like that. I like that. a defender. That is a good car actually. I think I looked at that when it...
Starting point is 00:52:59 It's weird, isn't it? When you see a car and then you see them everywhere. Yeah. Isn't it? Yeah. And then I started seeing them everywhere. So, yeah. We did the same with Tesla's.
Starting point is 00:53:08 I like that. Yeah. I do like that. Yeah. Any budget, I'd get a defender, but obviously they're ridiculous. They are. And when I took mine to get looked at for something, we went obviously into the showroom part and they've got them with the two seats at the back.
Starting point is 00:53:23 Yes. Cason loved the little back seats. And I remember being a kid whenever we had cars, I had the flap down seats in the back. Like, you just love the... It's the most uncomfortable chair of the car, but for some reason they're just so cool. You do, you're right.
Starting point is 00:53:35 You're right. But, yeah, so the defender, yeah, would probably be mine. Do you have names for your cars? No, but I think most people, everyone else, I know, do. Do you? We do. You do? But only on my range rover.
Starting point is 00:53:51 We've not had names for cars previous that I can remember. I don't think Liam's Tiguan that we had, we ever had a name for it. But probably because Kaysen was young then. But when I got my car, Kaysen called it Star. So we've always called the Range Rover Star. Ah.
Starting point is 00:54:07 And then when we picked up the Tesla, we were like, oh, what should we call it? And when we were choosing colours, Kaysen really wanted like the dark blue. Yeah. But I was like, no. So we've gone for like a dark charcoaly grey. But the colour, I think, was called Midnight Blue.
Starting point is 00:54:22 And I was like, oh, midnight would be a, name. So before we got it, we were going to call it midnight. And then when we got it, Kaysen was like, we should call it Orion. And I was like, that's really cool. And it's all like sky related. So I think we're not fully decided, but the new car might be Orion. No, I don't name, I don't name the, my thing's purely been, because Kaysen has. Yeah. No, my kids haven't, um, the only relevance is that Mitch refers to his bike. Because is she. She? Like she, you know what I mean? Like she's a beaut. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:54:55 That's about it. I suppose you wouldn't say he's a but you. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know if our car's, we haven't decided if our car's girls are boys. But yeah, they've had names anyway.
Starting point is 00:55:05 But friends growing up, they've always named their car. There's a girl on my Facebook who got a new car this year and she named it. No, I don't name. I don't think, I don't think I would, but Kaysen has it.
Starting point is 00:55:18 And I like that they've got a name. But then it becomes that memory. That's what I'm trying to say. It becomes a memory. Yeah. Cool. Have you ever had any tickets? Yes.
Starting point is 00:55:30 I've just fucking paid a 400 euro fine, bastards. Yeah. 400. Just reminded me, actually. 400 euro. What did you do? Speeding. They caught me and it was me.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Because I get up on the day and everything me. I'm like, where's the road? What time? Because it's you, Mitch. It's always you. It was me. Yeah. Why?
Starting point is 00:55:49 400? They're never that much. I don't know if it's, well, I don't know if, apparently they've me know, which they haven't let me know, but I don't know if it's because of the severity, so I was supposed to go in 30 and I was going 70. Oh, that's quite a lot. Yeah, but the road wasn't a 30 bill. I mean, it was on the thing, but I would have stalled and stopped.
Starting point is 00:56:05 Do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. These cars need to move, man. They can't... All the air in the world. You need to just fly through it. No, some of the... Some of the speed limits are so slow.
Starting point is 00:56:18 Like, you're trying to do it and you're like, oh, my God, I'm going to go backwards. Yeah, that's what I feel like. But yeah, so, yeah, but I have. So normally it's Mitch, so, but you had a speeding one. I had a speeding ticket. I think he said I was going to get four points as well. But I don't know if that's four points if I don't pay it. Or four points still, do I get four points still?
Starting point is 00:56:33 No, I think you do and you pay. Fuck you, man. I don't know, actually. Do you know what? Because I'm a good driver. All right. And some little bloke has sat in his car and thought, do you know what?
Starting point is 00:56:43 I'm going to have her. It just annoys me things like that because I just think there's more things going on in the world. And you're going to find me 400, you put me in a bad mood now. I'm asking that question because I actually, forgot about it. That is a lot. Because normally if you pay it within a certain amount of time, you get 50% off. Yes. Which I have. I've had it for parking and
Starting point is 00:57:01 things like that. I've had one in Malaga that we thought was Mitch said it was fake. And I was like, nah, it's fake. But I didn't pay it and it ended up being that it was definitely fake. Because we didn't get anything through from it. So I got one on the way to Marbea for
Starting point is 00:57:16 it must have been Shan's Hendu. What for speeding? Yeah, for speeding. And I just I think by the time the ticket come through, I'd just finish working there and I gave them the car back and they made contact to me
Starting point is 00:57:30 like you got a speeding ticket and I don't think I told them that I took the car to my bag because it was a work car so yeah I mean it was my car they knew I was using it for personal use as well but that's like a bit excessive in it to go that far especially when there was limits
Starting point is 00:57:43 on the amount of clashes you can have so I had a speeding ticket there I got caught on my phone once on the M332 I was trying to I think I was trying to speak or message Sean and a police
Starting point is 00:57:54 motorbike come up next to me and tap me on the window and I was like oh I'll tell you what I have been done for you know about this one eating a packet of crisps
Starting point is 00:58:02 really yes I don't remember this mate they just they try to piss me on and say I wouldn't mind I'll go like 150 on a 40 road or something like that or whatever
Starting point is 00:58:12 or I was eating a bleeding Chinese on my lap but I wasn't I swear everybody eats crisps and people smoke I don't know it's worse so much more dangerous smoking for everyone involved
Starting point is 00:58:24 rather than just having one hand or whatever you want to call it. So it was at the time when I was actually doing an access course to get into the uni from hygiene because I didn't finish school, staying school kids. I've got there in the end zone,
Starting point is 00:58:37 doesn't matter. But yeah, so I had to go to this tutor to help me and basically the way it was was, sorry, moment, I'd go to do my tutoring and then I'd go straight to work. So I'd just eat on the way. I eat in the car basically all the time.
Starting point is 00:58:51 It was just on the way. So I'd eat what I'd eat And then I'd have been a packet of Chris So yeah It was an undercover This is what It was an undercover Mate you could have been doing
Starting point is 00:58:59 So much more better things under cover Than getting me with the bag of Chris I didn't know they could actually do you for that Wait a minute They pulled me They were driving in front of me Just come off putting up and around about They pulled then into that big Chinese thing
Starting point is 00:59:11 That's like a house Give me the fine For eating While I was driving I was like well I ain't got any money Or anything on me Oh I did my driving like
Starting point is 00:59:21 on me, sorry. Back then, obviously, they didn't have it all on the system as they do now. They followed me to my house to look at my driving for a packet of crisps, people. Oh, wow. To look it. And then I was like, I do know, I'll pay you now on card because I had a card machine. I'll pay you now. Do it now. So I went to work. Yeah. I didn't even finish for crisps. I got fined 50 euro for a packet of fucking crisps. Making money, isn't they? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So I've been fine a lot, to be honest. But I think really, I understand they're trying to keep people safe. Yeah. But the people that I see around and the things
Starting point is 00:59:51 that places that people park that I see. I just think... Yeah, there's so much more worse than that. Yeah, now I remember actually once being on that Toraviacar road from like Montesina's into Torreveco which is that dual carriageway. And I don't know what, I don't think I was doing anything. But a police car come up beside me, like pointed at me. So I'm like driving.
Starting point is 01:00:12 I put the window down. They're trying to have a conversation with me with the car on that dual carriageway. And I'm like trying to look like, like I don't want to be too distracted Because it's not a slow road, isn't? No, it's not. And this is before they put a 50 on it, so I think it was an 80 before. I would have, I thought.
Starting point is 01:00:27 I don't know what, I don't know what they were trying. I can't even remember what they were trying to tell me. They were probably asking for your number bill. No, they were like, trying to say something to me. I don't know if like maybe. They were being professional. Maybe I'd swerved a little bit, maybe I was on my phone. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:00:44 Like, I try not to be on my phone. No, that's one thing I don't is the phone. They literally would try to have a conversation. They didn't say pull over. and let's talk about it. They're trying to have a conversation with me as we're driving. She's like, what the fuck? You're going to make me crash the house.
Starting point is 01:00:58 Did they don't go? Or did you then pull over? They said something. And then I was like, yeah, then they just left. So I was like, well, that was a waste of time. But I do remember in England, this was that, all that happened in Spain. So I've not actually had touched with too many. One speed ticket, one on my phone ticket.
Starting point is 01:01:15 But in England, I've got a speeding ticket. within the first two years of driving. So obviously it's more serious when you get a speeding ticket in the first year or two years of driving. So anyway, my dad was like, I'll take it for you because I think it might have been points. You can.
Starting point is 01:01:32 Yeah, yes. So my dad was like, I'll take it. So he's put in and said he was driving. Then they sent it back with a picture of me driving. Like, this isn't you, kids like. So then I was like, oh shit, so then I had to take it. But because it was speeding and because it was more than, I think, 10% I don't think it was crazy, but it was like enough over that they made me do like a speed awareness course.
Starting point is 01:01:57 So that you don't get points when you first start driving. It's an opt out to not. Yeah, exactly. But I remember having to do this course and straight after I was flying to Spain for whatever reason, holiday or something. But it was just me. Liam might have already been there or something. I can't remember. but yeah I think my my mom ended up driving me because like you'd have to drive really fast like to get there in time oh yeah
Starting point is 01:02:23 course and then I was like well I've just done a spare a speed awareness thing and they basically just show you for hours like car crashes and people mangled and like trying to like frighten the life out of you to not speed again so my mom ended up speeding to get me to the airport oh yeah so fun times yeah right last question who's the better driver oh what out of me and Mitch no me and you Oh, me and you. Oh, you. I was going to say, Mitch anyway. It doesn't really make your difference, but yeah, definitely you. I forget the boys because they'll say it's them. Yeah, you, you're a city, town. I'm just more of a confident driver, I think. Yeah, I, I, I, for years, you wouldn't even park outside the front of my house. You park in the car park at the bar. Yeah, now I just, I can't just turn. I know what? When I've got to do it, I'll do it. So I went to Mercy before, me and I went to do it in concert and on. On, you know, I'm going to watch, watch, much doing concert. And on. Honestly, you know what it's like anyway in their places. Whenever you do concerts and things and there's something going on, it's worse. But even the parking in them cities is tiny in the, you know, in the blocks and whatever. So, yeah, it was tiny and my car isn't small.
Starting point is 01:03:29 So that was very difficult, but I did it. Like my mom was like, how have you? Because I went and did it on my own. When we left, obviously she got in the car. She was like, I'm, but how it is. I was like, yeah, thank you. You know, like I can do it if I'm on my own. If I've got people with me, I'm a bit.
Starting point is 01:03:44 I'm a bit more. Yeah. And I'm just, I would just prefer to drive a bit further and walk. Yeah. Then cause myself the stress have not been asking the spot. Whereas you see a spot. You get, it's a challenge. Like, I enjoy it.
Starting point is 01:03:56 And I'm like, how many times are you going to go in there? Yes, I am. I remember we went to Benadol and they were like, oh, I'm scared of my car. And I'll park it. Yeah. I'll do it. And they're like, exactly. And now the cars with all these beepers, which I've not learned to drive in that way.
Starting point is 01:04:09 Oh yeah. I don't look at my cameras. I can't. It annoys me. Even noise annoys me. In the time the other day, he was like, look at the, look at the, look at the And the Tesla has like even more than what my car has. Mine has like a small back camera and that's it.
Starting point is 01:04:22 But I don't look in the camera. I look around the car. And you've got cars that parked for you as well. I don't even think I'd trust that. But yeah, I think mine might. There, exactly. But the Tesla obviously definitely. I, yeah, you, a million percent.
Starting point is 01:04:33 Yeah, everything. I'd say that especially parking. I'm not a confident parker. Yeah. I'd do it if I'm really happy to. I remember being an estate agent and I parked the car with some clients in the back. And he was like, oh, you. you're good at parking for a woman and I'm like, right, I'm not going to bite because...
Starting point is 01:04:49 You ride it that little bit at the end, ladies. Yeah, like... Just say you're good at parking. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. She can have that one.
Starting point is 01:04:58 She's definitely. She's good at everything more than me usually. Anyways, I'm kind of using. Not everything, but I'll take the parking and driving for sure. I think, like, say, yeah, when we drove to Shantan, like, I was like, I'll do the driving. Like, I like, I enjoy driving. Yeah, I don't mind driving. It's just Mitch would never let me drive.
Starting point is 01:05:15 No, Liam won't. He's not. If we were in the car together, he would never, ever, ever let me drive. No, same. Right, well, thanks for joining us for our car episode. Yeah, I want to hear some of the people's car stories. That's my interest in actually. I just said cars is like cars.
Starting point is 01:05:32 But actually, there's loads of stuff. Yeah, and we probably, yeah, I'm even thinking of a few things. Say, same. We've not spoken about. But, yeah, that was fun. So, yeah, drop us a comment what your first car was and what your dream car. Yeah. And we'll share some on the next step.
Starting point is 01:05:47 Yes, we will. See you later. Bye.
