The Rosary in a Year (with Fr. Mark-Mary Ames) - Day 211: Presence of the Holy Spirit
Episode Date: July 30, 2025We have an opportunity to deepen our relationship with the Holy Spirit through today's meditative prayer and the Rosary. Fr. Mark-Mary invites us to personally engage with the Holy Spirit by offering ...areas of our hearts that need healing, courage, or comfort. He reminds us to see the Holy Spirit not merely as a symbol, but as a divine person who listens, responds, and loves. Today’s focus is the mysteries of the Finding of Jesus in the Temple and Baptism of Jesus and we will be praying two decades of the Rosary. Hello and welcome back.
Today we'll be praying the fifth joyful mystery, the finding of the child Jesus in the temple,
and the first luminous mystery, the baptism of our Lord in the Jordan.
Lord in the Jordan.
So we'll be continuing our first couple of days here in phase five, building up the mysteries,
practicing relational prayer,
namely today praying in the presence of the Holy Spirit.
And in some ways for a lot of us,
praying to having a conversation with the Holy Spirit
may be a little bit new.
The images we have of the Holy Spirit, of a dove or fire, are super helpful and they're
revealed for us in Scripture.
But also, they can lead to a certain struggle of a depersonalization of the person of the Holy Spirit
as an object or an image, substance, animal, as opposed to a divine person who can hear us,
who can speak to us, who loves us, who's worthy of our adoration.
who loves us, who's worthy of our adoration.
Personally, my own prayer with the Holy Spirit, which I will propose today is
there's a movement I experienced to reveal something of my life, of my heart
to the Holy Spirit. And I ask for him to come and to fill and to touch
and to warm and to bless and to console that part
of my life, that part of my heart.
So I invite you yourself to perhaps call to mind one of the names of the Holy Spirit,
the Comforter, like our Advocate, the Paraclete, promise of the Father.
Bring to the Holy Spirit perhaps like some part of your life, mind, heart, that needs truth spoken into it. May the Spirit of truth speak God's word there.
Perhaps there's an area of fear which needs God's boldness, his courage, as we saw manifest
on the day of Pentecost.
Is there an area of your life where you feel lukewarm, where you need alone and you need consolation and comfort.
So whatever it is, let's bring it to the Holy Spirit as we pray.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
The fifth joyful mystery is the finding of the child Jesus in the temple.
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Save us from the fires of hell.
Lead all souls to heaven,
especially those in most need of thy mercy.
The first luminous mystery
is the baptism of our Lord in the Jordan.
All right, and we'll just kind of,
before we go into our second decade, renew our recollection,
our focus.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
