The Rosary in a Year (with Fr. Mark-Mary Ames) - Day 215: Here With Jesus
Episode Date: August 3, 2025Imagine Jesus present in your everyday environment—your home, school, office, or car. While we often picture Him in distant historical settings, Fr. Mark-Mary encourages us to experience Jesus comin...g to us in the here and now. This kind of imaginative prayer deepens our relationship with Jesus by making His love and presence tangible in the ordinary moments of our lives. Today’s focus is the mysteries of the Crowning with Thorns and the Carrying of the Cross and we will be praying two decades of the Rosary. Hi, I'm Father Mark Mary with Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, and this is the Rosary in a

Today we will be praying with the third and the fourth sorrowful mysteries, the crowning with thorns and Jesus' carrying of His cross.
So as we pray today, we're going to focus again specifically on Jesus,
on His heart for you, His eyes looking at you, His attentiveness to you.
And I'm going to encourage you as you pray here to hopefully respond to an invitation
of the Lord.
Is there a place of prayer, an encounter with Jesus that you've already had?
Perhaps going back to the workshop
that we visited in one of our very first episodes.
Going with Jesus to Galilee or to Bethany, to Jerusalem.
Or today, if you've never done this before,
I'd also encourage you to give a shot to prayerfully,
like imagining not just you going to Jesus,
like 2000 years ago, but Him coming to you.
To Him visiting you, perhaps in your office,
in your home, sitting at your dining table.
If you have children,
perhaps He's there with you,
watching them at one of their baseball games,
going to pick them up at school,
sitting next to you in the pastor's seat.
I do believe as we don't just pray the rosary,
but as we go about in our lives,
trying to deepen and broaden our ongoing conversation
relationship with Jesus,
if we can actually have some times of prayer
where we experience and imagine Him,
like coming to us in the modern time,
as opposed to us just going back to Him,
I think this can be really fruitful
and really helpful for us, knowing that He's with us
and imagining Him there with us,
so that we can speak to Him and share our hearts with Him,
experience His love for us in our daily lives
and in our workplace and in our daily lives,
and in our workplace, and in our mundane tasks, our homes,
et cetera.
So I'll just give you a moment here to perhaps imagine Jesus
with you in your room, your office, your car, et cetera.
Experience Him looking at you, Him loving you, Him hearing you.
Okay, now let us pray. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. The third sorrowful mystery is the crowning with thorns.
The third star of mystery is the crowning with thorns. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil, amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art Thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
