The Rosary in a Year (with Fr. Mark-Mary Ames) - Day 289: The Joyful Mysteries
Episode Date: October 16, 2025Fr. Mark-Mary offers us a word of encouragement, reminding us to continue to draw our prior meditation topics into our prayer of the Rosary, grounding ourselves in true meditation from our mental arch...ives. Beginning again with the Joyful mysteries, we walk through the beginning of Jesus’ life and the story of the holy family. The Joyful mysteries provide us a beautiful foundation of joy for our lives, teaching us how to journey through all of our mysteries, luminous, sorrowful, and joyful. Today’s focus is the mysteries of the Ascension, the Descent of the Holy Spirit, the Assumption, and the Coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth. We will be praying four decades of the Rosary. For the complete prayer plan, visit https://ascensionpress.com/riy.

I'm Father Mark Mary with Franciscan Frarers with Renewal, and this is the Rosary in Year podcast.
We're through prayer and meditation.
The Rosary brings us deeper into relationship with Jesus and Mary and becomes a source of grace for the whole world.

Today we are going to be beginning and praying
the first four joyous mysteries,
the enunciation, the visitation, the nativity,
and the presentation of Jesus.
in the temple, maybe a little word of encouragement before we get into our prayer today.
So for a couple weeks now, we've been praying and kind of strictly praying during these
rosary and year episodes. And I'm going to encourage you just to pay attention to your experience
and to your prayer as a reminder. Part of the worldview of the format of the rosary and the year
journey that we've been on was to at the beginning have a number of talks, meditation,
to prayers to fill up our mental library so that we can,
can go there and pull from what we have talked about and discussed and prayed with to feed our
prayer, that our prayer may be richer. If you're finding yourself back into kind of a routine
where you're really kind of strictly just moving through the decades and maybe lost sight
of some of the richness of the meditation and what we have kind of spent time with up to this
point, it may be advantageous for you to go back and to review some of the previous episodes,
particularly some of those previous episodes that you found most helpful to kind of go back
there again, to remember these things, to perhaps maybe dust them off of the shelves of our mind
so that they can be a source and enrichment to our prayer again. So maybe that means just taking
a pause from some of the daily episodes to go back to review, or maybe it might mean adding
some more like listening to your routine again at the service of enriching this time that we
spend together in prayer. So now let us go ahead and pray as we begin in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The first joyful mystery is the Annunciation. Our Father
who art in heaven, how though be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in
heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we, as we
forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil amen
